    I know why many people hate this game. It took me 27 hours to complete, which took more than two weeks, I gave myself some time to think about what the hell is happening. I think I know why people hate this game.
    Let's be honest, everyone liked Joel and stuff, but could never understand his decision from the first part. He killed people, many people, some innocent some not. But most of all, he killed the hope that humanity had, the hope of getting things back to normal. And many people hated him for that. This part is about revenge, where things go ugly and the people who suffer the most are always innocent. Ellie and Abby are so similar yet so different. The game shows you that this revenge path is a circle, which will unavoidably lead to more suffering and pain. People who did not like this game just did not try to understand it. I see so many reviews about how they will not complete the game, how they are not willing to sympathise with Abby and listen to her part of the story. This game is not about LGBT, muscular woman, pregnant woman or transgenders. If you just try to listen to whatever this game is trying to teach you, wait for a bit and carry on playing till the very end, you will see that the details of the lgbt and all of that does not matter. Lev and Yara are amazing characters no matter what.
    Do not ruin your game experience with limiting your emotion spectrum to the level of a tea bag. Listen first to what game is trying to teach you and then write your review.
    The reason why I liked this game is very simple yet it took me to realise that. This game is deep. It tells you so much yet leaves the analytical part to yourself. This is why many people thought that the game is wrong. They just never gave it a second thought. And this game needs more than just one extra thought. I read many comments and saw enough reviews to understand that many people just treated it as a game, not the story that you analyse and understand, just another game. I see that many people did not understand what the first part was all about and they carried this misunderstandings to the second part and therefore understood nothing and ended up hating the game and ruining one of the best playing experiences you can ever have just playing a game.
    If you are ready to listen, to learn about what the game is trying to tell you, if you have patience to learn then you should definitely give this game a go. I would recommend it to anyone, except for kids, this game has way to many violence and is too deep for kids to play, they will not understand **** about this game and end up writing a negative review.
    Do not play this game if you are dumb as **** and have no sympathy towards others or hate anything that has to do with transgenders or gay people. But i think this limitations can be applied to any game, so just go to school and do your homework bro    … Expand

    Masterfull game, one of the best I have ever played. The story is not what I expected but it is true to the Last of Us universe, gut wrenching and depressing. The hate to this game is dumb and mostly unfounded, mainly due to what happens early in the game. So far this is the Game of the Year for me.

The only like-able characters are Ellie and Joel, but they butcher their stories and miss out on delving deeper into their relationship. The TLOU 2 trailers should be considered false advertisement because they purposely avoid showing the horrendous second half of the game. If you liked TLOU 1 gameplay then you will like TLOU 2 gameplay. Visuals were great too, but the lackluster plot takes away from the entire experience.     More woke nonsense injected into another beloved series. Naughty Dog has totally destroyed the legacy of the first game with this trash heap. Gameplay is more like the first game, but with improvements and overall a graphically superior game. But the story. Forced and injected SJW-woke agenda.

SJW infection has completely ruined this franchise and tainted Naughty Dog as a developer forever. I’m done with their games.

When I heard Ellie was to be the main character I was pretty bummed out already, as I didn’t enjoy the dlc to the original game. This is one of the best games that i have had the pleasure to play in this generation,The gameplay is top notch and requires the utmost focus,flanking the enemy while trying to waste as less bullets as possible either by using stealth or by being a good shot, the AI is smart and doesn't automatically know your location like in 99% of other videogames, which makes the experience much,much more realistic and the gameplay very enjoyable and satisfying,Now The story has been misunderstood by many people,The games message was never revenge, it was forgiveness. When Ellie is drowning Abby she flashes to a memory of Joel and she spares Abby. We find out later that memory was of her learning to forgive Joel for what he did. She didn't kill Abby because revenge is bad, but because she realized she has to learn forgive Abby for what she's done. Both Abby and Ellie learn this but by they time they realize this they both lose almost everything they love because of the selfish choices they made. Ellie's choices even mirror Joel's. At the end of the first game Joel makes a selfish choice that damages his relationship with Ellie, and at the end of this game Ellie makes a selfish choice that damages her relationship with Dina. Stuff like this makes me appreciate the game even more. To me this game has far surpassed its predecessor and i hope tlou3 delivers well. P.S i can't stop thinking about TLOU2.… Expand

Other stories have done really well without shoehorning or coming off as preachy like HBO’s “Wokemen” and this. Definitely skip or buy heavily discounted in a couple years if you’re interested in the tech.… Expand

    This story may seem like it's about revenge... but it's a tale about forgiveness. As the player you immediately hate certain characters and want blind revenge.
    In the end it all comes together and wants to show you that no matter what happened, you can still forgive people and find peace in yourself, even without fulfilling your vengeance; which wouldn't leave you satisfied anyway. If we're all driven by revenge, we will never find peace. Find it in your heart to forgive your enemies.

    Up until the ending, the entire game is filled with death; useless and mostly without purpose. I didn't feel for most of the characters; like at all. Jesse was, for example, a funny, witty and like-able character. He was killed off with a snap. Soooo... okay??? Super edgy...

    There's a HUGE disconnect between the story they wanted to tell and how they told it and what it ended up making the player feel. The game made me feel like **** throughout about 60% of it. Not sure if that was the goal, but you can't tell me a game is great when I just want the 'pain' to end and see the ending. I waited 7 years, was hyped for more than 2 of those, just to literally sit there and consciously WANT the game to end... Yikes.

    It feels like I'm playing for a message; not the story in of itself. Also, you can't tell me they were so passionate when they left behind (no pun intended) multiplayer, just to have the only thing being a message shoved down our throats, because that's what the whole thing boils down to: Revenge bad.

    As it's own, standalone experience: Very strong 5 for me.
    As a sequel to the first one: Probably a 1 or 2. If you did things well in the first one, you have to be criticized if the sequel doesn't manage to at least do what the first one did.

    I feel like a moron for judging something before having finished it, although human beings are easily manipulated and the illusion of choice and cleverness can be achieved with the right knowledge.

    Also, what the **** is up with the **** and manipulative trailers??? Non-pre-rendered cutscenes are dangerous man. Go back and change things without any amount of effort...    … Expand

The few lines he had in the trailer were actually said by other characters... they made him look older and had him say stuff in the trailer to make you think he would be in it for a while. I won't say too many details but i put spoiler in case people felt what i said was spoilery. The narrative is bad. The lack of choice is bad. The characters don't learn. And when the player has learned revenge is bad and you want to make other choices you can't. And they just beat you over the head with all the bad decisions.… Expand

    Graphics - Visually, the game is stunning in every aspect. In particular, I think it distinguishes itself more by having one of the best lighting I have ever seen in a videogame. For a detailed technical analysis of the game, I recommend that you see the Digital Foundry analysis. The only problem I noticed was that sometimes there is some noticeable texture pop-in, but it is minor and understandable when you try to have the most detailed environments ever in PS4. Only God of War can rival with TLOU2 in this department as far as PS4 games go.

    Sound - Maybe not as impressive as the graphics, but it is top tier for sure. The voice acting is extremely good, just as in the first game. The environmental sounds plus the soundtrack are as immersive as they can be. The sound of the gunshots feel very powerful and realistic. No complaints in this department.

    Gameplay - It is basically a refined version of the first game. The melee combat and the stealth feel better this time. The exploration is rewarding enough and the areas are much more open than in the first game. In my opinion, the gameplay is very solid and combined with the very good audiovisual design feels extremely entertaining.

    Plot - I feel that the story and the character development are top notch. Contrary to claims by some people here, I think the game respects the original characters, who are now living in a different context and in a different time. Maybe, by having a very ambitious and expansive scope, it loses some focus at some points compared to the first game, which is more restricted and simple. However, it is something never tried in videogames before, it is well executed and, in my view, it works amazingly well overall.

    I think this game is a masterpiece with few flaws. My rating would be 9.5/10.

    PS: It might not work so well for some people, depending on each one's taste but certainly the game is not a 0/10 and no one doing a proper review would give such a score as it can be seen from the professional reviews. It is still helpful if you also look at proper reviews that criticize several aspects of the game like Skill Up, Polygon or Kotaku.    … Expand

Why would I want to play a character for 12 hours that murdered my favorite character from the first game. They didn't even accurately portray a trans person with Abby, her voice sounds female. No one would acknowledge that she's trans, which again I find very unrealistic. This game feels like it panders to leftist. First Last of Us was very believable story wise. This kept me pissed off from the moment Abby murdered Joe to the very end. I'm surprised critics gave this stellar reviews. I actually find it absurd. **** this game and **** this series.     The story feels more like a netflix drama series than a post-apocalyptic survival horror title, the lack of gameplay elements and the incessant cutscenes do not help. Not the mention the downgrades from the earlier trailers, which is a PS4 tradition at this point. Even if we ignore the turbulent leaks and the ruthlessness of the direction towards the developers, this game is mediocre, so much so it bleeds its mediocrity into the first game. What a waste.
    The only thing praiseworthy is the effort made by the developers to technically support this drama show, and the art direction.    … Expand

    Геймплей. Он, с одной стороны, мало чем изменился с первой части, но, с другой, стал лучше во всех своих аспектах. Если вам сильно понравился геймплей первой части, то от геймплея второй вы будете в восторге. Если же вы считаете, что первая часть - это "кинцо без геймплея", то вторая часть вам тоже геймплейно не зайдёт.

    Сюжет. Самая спорная часть. Для большинства точкой невозврата стало событие, произошедшее в первой части игры. Для других - вторая половина игры. Для третьих - финал. Если без спойлеров, то игра максимально депрессивная и старается показать своих персонажей в разном свете и она совершенно не похожа на первую часть. Ничем. Совсем. На самом деле, если рассудить логически, то сюжет вполне добротно скроен - в нём нет логических дыр, искажения характеров персонажей, отсутствия причинно-следственных связей и прочих недочётов, пусть он и не идеален. Ты можешь принимать или не принимать поступки тех или иных героев, но ты понимаешь, почему они так поступают. Структурно сюжет часто переключается между настоящим и прошлым, и поделен между двумя персонажами игры в пропорции примерно 60/40. Сюжет следует идеи мести и вытекающих из неё последствий - в сущности, простая идея, но поданная на высочайшем уровне.

    Пара слов об SJW-контенте - да, в игре он присутствует, причём достаточно заметен. Однако сводить всю игру только к нему это глупо. Есть тут люди, для которых это стало большой трагедией, но для таких у меня есть пара слов - если у вас вызывает отвращение что-то, отличающееся от представлений традиционной морали, то вы ничем не лучше тех, кто практикует "позитивную" дискриминацию, просто находитесь по другую сторону баррикад. И если вы в огромной игре заметили только SJW-контент, то мне вас жаль.

    Пара слов о ревью-бомбинге - он тоже имел место быть. Огромное кол-во негативных отзывов появилось в первые же часы игры, т.е эти люди чисто физически не могли пройти игру к моменту написания отзыва. Даже не то, что пройти - они 90% игры в глаза не видели, но уже побежали минусить. Что тут ещё сказать...

    Играть или нет? Если вы ждёте всего того, что было в первой части, "только больше" - не стоит. Во всех остальных случаях играть обязательно.

    Вердикт: The Last of Us part II - игра высочайшего качества и одна из лучших игр текущего поколения, главная проблема которой заключается в том, что это не совсем та игра, которую все ждали.    … Expand

    Fantastic game! Masterpiece! Great storyline, I'm getting real goosebumps. This is the one of the best games in our history. Graphics, details, character souls... Oh, the best characters what I met! I love this game and infinitely grateful to developers!

First off this review will probably contain spoilers because I'm going to try and cover all of the idiotic points/facts that people are construing from small articles/reviews they've read that they are using to fabricate their own reviews without actually knowing/experiencing the context of this game.

    Second opening point, if you gave this game a 0/10 you don't deserve to have a login to any review site because if you ACTUALLY played the game and somehow were able to overlook captivating views, scenes, character models, emotions, and lighting (which I'll admit wasn't always perfect) then you most certainly already proven you're a troll. I will say it's OK to not be happy about the ending, but until you've got the balls to make your own game, you can't continue to act like a child that didn't get their way. And if you didn't happen to fully comprehend the points given, the character development that each character went through to get to the end of the game and understand why they made the decisions they made, then maybe story games aren't for you. That's OK too.

    The story arcs it's way through Ellie's revenge driven explosion of violence, through Abby's choices of siding with her faction, or doing what she thinks is right. The Seraphites are a radical group by most accounts, but you find out that it was the Wolves that broke the treaty which ultimately led to Isaac declaring full scale war on the Seraphites island.

    Lev and Yara bring redemption into the fold to show you that Abby was fueled by hate and rage for the death of her father, but isn't a bad person at heart. She's never tried to do the wrong thing or hurt someone without good reason or in response to a threat. The whole side arc of the Seraphites was to introduce a radical spiritual group and show how bad things have gotten during these apocalyptic times.

    Quick touch on Lev, some people are quite literally BUTTHURT because Lev is a transgender character. This is a non-issue, Lev and Abby dance around the subject for maybe 30 seconds and you never hear anymore until later you find out that Lev cut his hair like the "other men" because he wanted to be a warrior after he had been chosen to be a young wife to one of the Elders. You get in total maybe 5 minutes worth of dialogue around the transgender nature of Lev. Gender itself is never even really spoken of during any of the Lev/Yara story events. Commenting or being mad about this subject just shows which people actually played the game and which didn't.

    It's insane to think that people are mad about there being an Ellie girl/girl scene even though she's been gay for the last 10 years. Which once again shows the people leaving those kinds of remarks didn't even play or pay attention during the first game/prequel story.

    If you don't think after living in a thriving community, raising your "daughter", in a safe and ever-expanding environment that you don't think Joel could have a change of heart you don't have any credibility for ripping on the story of this game. The sequence of Joel encountering Abby was one where they didn't have many options at all for where to go for safety, Joel has never been heartless and yet people act like he was supposed to just blow her brains out when he saw Abby about to get eaten alive. Time has passed, people change, hearts change.

    This game like Death Stranding has a lot of negativity around it simply because it has such a passionate player base. Most of the negative reviews (90% or more confirmed by multiple sites) haven't even finished the game, a lot haven't even played it I'm sure (troll accounts) it'll have a lot of reviews wiped away here soon to balance the score. It truly is a 9+/10 game for almost anyone that enjoys video games.

    The only warning I give is that it is very triggering, it's violent to an extent that you rarely see in video games but it portrays a lot of raw emotion in the moment that you hardly ever really feel in games like you do in this one.

    This is a harsh world, post-apocalypse, no cure, varying factions where safe land and supplies are scarce. Nothing you see, or experience is out of the realm of possibility, the game takes you into the extremes and they don't waver on taking chances to show you how cruel this world can be.

    Main thing I ask, if you're a fan, if you love video games, you're better off not being here or knowing anything going in, but if you've made it this far, this isn't the only review you've read which means you probably already know too much. I went in with no spoilers, no reviews, and no expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised, if you bypass everything on the internet I'm sure you will too.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although the game is astonishingly beautifully done, what cautivated me from TLOU 1 was the dialogs and the characters. Part 1 storyplot was motivated by love, being that love at the beggining broken from Joel, but Elie manages to heal that and it´s what drives the plot ultimately to me. In a very sick and apocaliptical world they manage to help themselves and the story plot leaves you with a wonderfull feeling of father-daughter love story.

    This second part is the opposite, it does not build upon anything good, it left me unhappy to pay this story. In my opinion, although the game is well done, the story is a failure, and that was what i tought was most great from the first part, and what compelled me to get the second. A shame, i was hoping to play a game that left me that same good taste in the mouth, a story about pushing yourselve to be better. TLOU 2 is the opposite and leaves everyone broken, and you are just part of it without beign able to do anything about it.

    This was not a story that i wanted to experience, in my oppinion the plot is bad, it doesn´t matter how well it´s done. If a movie plot is bad it doesn´t matter how well it´s done, the movie is bad. This is the same in mu oppinion.

    And i do not expect to play the game ever again, i regret even playing it the first time. I did play TLOU 3 times, even with the PS4 enhaced version, and is still one of my favorites.

    A three is what this game deserves, and only because it is very well done.    … Expand

The game is made just great with the technical part. This is the kind of graphics we've always wanted to see in the best games.

    Not perfect but an amazing game. It is very obvious from a lot of these other reviews that the people have not actually played the game all the way through.     What stopped this from being a 10/10 was some parts felt too drawn out for an already long game. I had some minor bugs with character pathing that made certain interactions frustrating. Rarely happened but still worth mentioning.

    The big negative I have for this game is the story. I won't go into spoilers but, it really felt. Just off. The first game had a lot of character development and I became very attached to both Joel and Ellie as characters, wanting to see them survive. Where as here, I didn't get it. It felt VERY forced that I should feel a certain way about certain characters. While I do see what they were going for with how the game plays out. I just wish it stuck to mainly Joel and Ellies relationship and trimmed down some areas while expanding on others.    … Expand

Joel's death, the forced SJW morality being shoved and the convuluted ending. Storyline was messed up so bad. Abby brutally killed two people tou loved and you just her go when you had the chance to avenge them? Why did she even went on to berserk avenging when in the end, she will just forgive her?? I have never been this invested in a game since TLOU1. Of course I have some critiques but they are so minor that I don't even hesitate giving a 10/10.

    Go play as Frank West in Dead Rising. You will have WAY more fun.

The graphics add so much to the scenery and environments are nothing short of amazing, the PS4 was being pushed to its limits with this game. The score is simplistic and subtle which matches the tone and it knows when to shut up and let you figure out how to feel as you explore an*No Spoilers* Prepare to get triggered but I love this game. It's easily the best PS4 exclusive games imo. The graphics add so much to the scenery and environments are nothing short of amazing, the PS4 was being pushed to its limits with this game. The score is simplistic and subtle which matches the tone and it knows when to shut up and let you figure out how to feel as you explore an abandoned house and find a suicide note next to a skeleton instead of playing stock sad music like "HEY KID THIS IS THE PART WHERE YOU THINK OH THAT'S SAD". The game play is masterful. the enemy variation makes everything interesting like say you were in an intense stealth section where you are being hunted by the WLF but there's also a clicker or two in the environment, do you stealth kill the clicker and get it out of the way or do you throw a bottle and let it thin out some of the WLF. combat encounters like these force you to work out strategies on the fly and if your first strategy doesn't play out well then try another and find one that suits the situation. finally the one that most take issue with, the big one... the story. now this is a very subjective part but I'm going to try to explain what I like so this part is entirely from me, if you disagree then dog bless. the story is a game about hatred which provides a great contrast to the first game which is about love. all the characters are well written and the dialogue is great, some of Naughty Dogs best work in fact. all the veteran characters are handled well and organically. all of their decisions align with their personality in the first game. The new characters are all welcome additions that are hard not to love or hate. I was okay with the controversial choices made with these characters that others seemed to dislike and I fell for the first shocker of the story that had me hooked until the credits rolled. it's a fantastic game and is worth every penny of the price, the best PS4 has to offer.… Expand

Since there are people just spamming 10/10's, the only justifiable thing to do is to give it a 0 (Though I would probably give it a 1 or 2 realistically). The graphics are phenomenal and breathtaking, but the game is story driven (supposedly). The story itself is portrayed through the lens of blatant SJW propaganda. Abby even holds a book that is written by David Benioff (Hilariously ironic, right?). To best describe this game, it is basically an onion with infinite layers of **** I feel bad for anyone who had to go through this mess of a game, and Neil Druckmann should be absolutely ashamed of himself for putting out something as pathetic as this game. Also, Lev (portrayed by Ian Alexander) is a known racist, so I don't know why they're portraying this person as a heroic Trans person, when in fact, they're an anti-white pos. This game will be meme'd to death, and will always be known as GoT Season 8: Part 2. Screwing over Joel the way they did and then having Manny (portrayed as Druckmann) spitting on his dead corpse is an insult to this entire franchise. Please bare my english since it is not my first language. After watching the playthrough of this game through the platform twitch since I am so excited to see some early game playthrough due to the fact that video game stores in my country do not even have the latest copies of ff7 remake and persona 5 royale and of course this shouldnt be out in stores in my country as well. 20 min watching the gameplay they **** did what is something I will never forget this director had ever done to one of the most loved character in the first game. Spoiler alert they killed joel and the worst and most despicable thing is that you will have to control the piece of **** who killed joel just to learn she hulks story. I no longer have the will to watch further into the playthrough and I also will cancel my preorder of this trash game. I am sad, disappointed, angry, and hateful towards not only this ****ty sequel but to the video game producers and directors of this game as well, sony, you better give us some good titles for ps5 cause xbox looks so much better right now.… Expand

    In this game, whatever the first game was about is completely ignored, Zombies? **** them all, all that **** doesnt matter, what matters now is to pander 2020 society issues from a very biased pov, not only that, the "revenge" story arc is stupid, because it leads to no revenge in virtue of being a good person, despite being a serial murderer to reach the main antagonist who is a cartoon of whatever the writer wanted it to be, a chimera of progressive ideals with no soul and nothing interesting to say.

Sure, the game LOOKS nice, but that's literally it. There's barely any new mutated enemies, combat is literally the same, and the story I think is going to go down as probably the worst of this console era. For **** sake even Fallout 76 makes this game look good. At least you knew what you were getting into with 76. A mediocre online FO experience. We LITERALLY were baited and switched with The Last Of Us 2. We thought we were getting to see more of the characters we've grown to love, only to have Neil Druckmann's weird arrogant fever dream shoved in our faces.

    Vote with your wallets, guys. If you're on the fence, watch a stream of the game and thank us later. We all wanted to love this game, and it sucks this is the way it is, but don't give this company any more of your money. It just isn't worth it, and they aren't worth it. ND has proven they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR FANS OF THEIR GAMES.

    Pros:
    -Graphics are actually insane
    -Voice actors are great

    Cons:
    -Combat gets stale, since it's just TLOU1 reskinned
    -Story is the worst I've ever seen coming off of TLOU1
    -I hate the word agenda, but it really feels like there's an agenda push here. And it's not a good one.
    -Characters PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY and EMOTIONALLY make absolutely no sense. Ellie and Joel, and every other character make the weirdest decisions for the plot that we all know for a second they wouldn't make. It's all for Neil's weird plot devices.
    -Even though the game is short, it feels like it DRAGS for 40% of it. People who played the game know what parts I'm talking about.
    -it's impossible to get attached to ANY of the new characters. They're awkwardly written, and just feel stiff and weird.

    This game just isn't The Last of Us anymore. And if that's what the devs want, that's fine. But the fanbase didn't want this, and it's the fanbase that buys your game. Without them, you really don't have anything. It's such a tragedy this game was destroyed by one man and one woman's weird hatred toward gamers. Hopefully other studios see this **** and don't kill their franchises like ND did to TLOU.

    Gameplay-wise, it's very appealing. World building is top notch and the exploration part is painstakingly fine-tuned. Kudos to the team for creating such a commited landscapes and setting. But the story is crap, with a nihilistic ending leaving a hole in your chest and a bitter aftertaste in your mouth. I had to play the first game and currently am reading meaningful, story-centered fanfics after finishing it all just to cleanse this **** out of my system.

    New infected Shambler and Point Zero Crap blows off the realistic overview of the fungal infection. Cordyceps fungi has immunosuppression properties which allows it to bypass lung defenses, passes into the blood stream, into the CSF, and finally to the amygala and limbic system. When the fungi infects human amygdala it stimulates aggression and overrides conscious control the body, reverting the evolution of a sensible human mind back into one akin of a beast.

    So far, the four stages of infected are realistic with their behavior displaying apex predator. The Shambler and the new infected shatters the realistic background of infected firmly established by TLOU1. Such a poor decision to weave Resident Evil's monstrosity just for shock value.

    The tone of this game is very grim. I'd recommend for players who are currently having a hard time with their mental health to hold off playing this for a while. I was leaked about that early scene when I was studying for a test. I didn't flunk it but I could've achieved more. Anyway, I made peace with it and now am looking forward to new fanfictions that'd surely overcome Neil's horrendous writing.    … Expand
