Phenomenal game. Despite all the negative reviews it really worked for me. If you’re looking for a feel good game or a game with an ending that brings finality, this game is not for you. I felt uncomfortable often, but much like the first game after it’s over you’re left thinking about the choices made. Gameplay was stunning, amazing graphics! Can’t wait for the multiplayer experience!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished this game on survival after 30 hours of play , I have a lot of good things to say about this game , the graphics , lighting , atmosphere are all fantastic , the multiple approaches to combat (or to avoid)

Storywise I feel like the game played its biggest hand to early (joels death) the ellie/joel oartnership is something that really made the first game special and taking that away was a mistake in my opinion, That being said the story that was told was really engaging and interesting and took you from playing this revenge mission to learning about the motives and feelings of the "enemy" and really bringing into question "who really is the bad guy?"

this game is not a 10/10 and its not a 0 , I certainly preffered the first game but this is still a great game

Graphics, music, atmosphere, animations... this game is nearly perfect, except scenario. Game's story is actually good but the way game tells you the story is bad. I wrote a review in my native language and I am not capable of writing it again in English at the moment.

Neil Druckmann you had the opportunity to make at least 4 million users a great gaming experience. But you choose to make the worst storry you have ever made. Wrong arguments, wrong story, wrong new characters. This game sold that many copies just for the frist game, this one is dissapointing and has a worse end than game of thrones for sure.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished the game. It definitely a game that makes you feel miserable playing it. You lose interest in it as the story forces you to do things that are not enjoyable. Its kinda repetitive and the AI is kinda predictable. The 2018 trailer was ofcourse over promised and we got a lesser version from the trailer with the less graphical fidelity. Replayabilty would rate it 2. It was just linear after the first day with Ellie. Story: would rate it 1. Contrived and forced. Joel isnt stupid or dumb in the first game. Why is he dumb in this one. Yara doesnt care her mum died. Wtf. Abby has no redeeming qualities and you just dont care playing this character. No wonder every reviewer gave it 10 as they only were allowed to play Ellies first half. Graphics: 5 I mean, it was a letdown compared to the trailer. Reduced self shadowing and etc. I can see why all the senior staff got burnt out and left and only the junior staff were there. The time crunch and you can see the quality fall flat. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a tremendous, brutal and traumatized adventure!
I have to confess that the first night after the game I was full of thoughts and could hardly sleep.
I understand the frustration of many players about the story because it doesn't work for everyone. You have to bring a good dose of empathy and reflection with you to accept the intended change of perspective. I am glad that it worked for me and in the end didn't hate or prefer anyone.

But now for the review: The gameplay is known from the last part and has been improved by a few nuances. So if you found TloU 1 good, you will also enjoy it here. The graphics are probably the zenith of the Playstation 4 era, but the depth of detail is very outstanding and makes every place look organic and real. The sound is phenomenal and sometimes makes you shudder. Animations are the best I've seen so far. Rarely is a movement unnatural and all animations fit together.
The AI is probably the weakest point of the game and sometimes made a fight too easy for me. However, I had 2 places in the game where I really noticed the AI negatively. Most of the time, the AI is more challenging than in the last part.
In contrast to the first part, the story is more tragic and melcholic with little room for hope. However, it is also authentic and well written.

All in all, I really liked the game and I would be very happy if we get a third part. And maybe this time with hope as a theme.

The story is utter garbage. It's unfathomable to imagine how a game with amazing graphics, environmental and character design, gameplay mechanics and music has an incoherent story with bad pacing and a lot of plotholes. That's why my score is 4 and not outright 0.

And it took 7 years to make this. What a joke.

Still hasnt addressed ellies immunity, I highly doubt there was only one person alive that could develop a cure. Bouts of long exploration followed by 10 minutes of action, exploration was boring. Forced you to explore for collectibles. I was more interested in the story from the letters then the games story. Completely mealiness ending, kills everyone else for revenge but the person who actually killed joel, even kills a pregnant woman. Forced ending, forces you to fight a group with no context besides that they take prisoners for forced labor. Ellie loses her fingers in the last fight and cant leave joels guitar legacy behind unless she learns to play the guitar lefty. Very poorly written and leaves you with more questions about what happens at the end. Unfulfilling. Expand

Because as we can clearly say the decisions are made prior to keeping in view how that might impact the story, would that be positive ? or negative ? Considering that statements Naughty Dog had a lot of flaws here, they did not have any sense or idea that it would leave a negative impact on the people, they completely neglected the male part of the story literally killed every single male alive leaving it a feminist's game, and they messed up real bad with the story, a sadness which I may not overcome for a shortwhile because they did it and nobody wanted it, none expected it, and probably no one liked it.

I can see how who is more superficial doesn't like the story, maybe he would prefer a linear and more easy-reading one. For this people I suggest to play Spiderman or similar game, and to come back on this when they get "older". Btw if u are over 20 years old and u don t get what this game wants to transmit to you.....well just give up or start reading some books (I mean...you don t have to be a professor, just someone with an average culture)...

the graphics and game mechanics are great. the story and characters have been implemented very, very well. don't listen to the hater but make your own picture. Worth it! I warn here again about spoilers! So don't read on if you haven't finished the game.

The story is amazing. told very emotional and great.

Many complain about Joel's death. but I think his part is just finished. he is old and has told his story. I also found it appropriate to play Abby, because you could see everything from her perspective and understood why she did it.

this gives the story a moral struggle. on the one hand you want to kill with ellie Abby on the other hand you want to keep abby alive. Abby is actually very emotional and personable. it was very hard to see them fighting ... mega! i can't understand the hatred for abby. all this hatred of abby and the developers are not good. let people live as they want!

At times this game is a slog and a mess. On the surface it is a simple, occasionally patronising and consistently didactic story about violence and revenge. But look closer and you'll find a groundbreaking odyssey across a broken girl's psyche, a heartbreaking tale of grief, and a staggeringly mature and complex meditation on self-forgiveness.

Those saying this is a perfect game are ignoring its dramatic and structural shortcomings, and the thematic confusion it ties itself in. But those saying it's a disaster have completely missed the point, and I feel never engaged with this story the way it demands. Because it asks a lot from you, empathetically and intellectually, and that's okay. Art can do whatever it likes; artists do not owe 'fans' anything. And if you're not willing to give this story the chance it deserves, that's okay too; similarly, players owe the artists nothing. But I would absolutely recommend trying. Not everything here works, but the bits that do stand as some of the greatest writing and bravest artistry in video game history - especially the ending, which re-contextualises the entire piece and lands like a sledgehammer.

This is a challenging work, the kind you get out of what you put into, and that's not what everyone will be looking for. But after all the pain and frustration and even the stints of boredom, as the credits rolled I was so, so glad I played it. It is an extraordinarily brave and unique piece of art, an audacious script that attempts to wrangle the kind of internal processes that are so seldom written about, and a brutal, tactile video game. In the end it attempts to do too much and ties itself it knots, but that doesn't erase its frequent spots of brilliance. All considered, The Last of Us: Part II is a singular experience that I will never, ever forget.

The Last Of Us was nearly a life changing experience, it stands seven years later as the game that has stuck with me the longest and in the most positive way.

I'm still in disbelief over the dumpster fire this sequel turned out to be. I genuinely hated every minute of playing through the last half of the game. I just wanted it to be over. I made myself keep playing hoping against reality that it would come together eventually. It did not. I finished it two days prior to this writing and I'm still a little emotionally numb and disappointed over the whole experience. My only regret is that I bought digital and that I can't trade it in.

Outside of the terrible story and atomic bomb story structure, many of the chapters seemed to drag on far longer than necessary. There are far too many incredibly predictable encounters and cut-scenes. Overall the game became extremely repetitive and hard to play through. A far cry from the original.

Graphically the game is stunning for any console and the physics are the best I've seen in game.

The 'critic' reviews on this site must have played an alternate version of this game, or perhaps didn't play it at all.

Do yourself a favor, if you cherish the story of Joel and Ellie, stay far away from The Last Of Us Part II.

It’s a story that loses its focus at nearly every turn and ends up being mediocre at its best. This all being said, The visuals are absolutely breathtaking. This is the best looking game on the PS4 PERIOD. Environments are riddled with detail and the game does a fantastic job of making the world feel very realistic. Combat is also very good here. Every hit has weight, and the stealth rivals Metal Gear Solid.

The Last of Us part 2 has some good aspects. The gameplay, and visual are exactly where they need to be. However, this is a narrative based game. The messy story structure, boring characters, and plot holes make this game an absolute drag to finish. There isn’t much desire to revisit this flawed revenge tail anytime soon. Save yourself the money and wait for this price tag to drop.

I undertand the game does not provide a expected ending. It takes away from the player the pleasure of revenge, and leaves a not very good taste in the mouth after.

But a narrative that people some don't like, is different from a narrative porly writen, and this game is very well written.

The sequel has plenty of it & the addition of the new enemy which is a suprise(i loved him) & the one of the category of zombie improved from previous game which was great. Forces a relationship down your throat that is nothing more than a clingy one night stand, why should I care about this relationship when it starts from that and she only decides to join out of the blue on your revenge world tour. Best moments are with Joel, but you can save an entire game with a few small little moments. Pacing was terrible. Music forgetable. Abby's portion of the game, while a brave choice and understandable, last too long and was ultimately a pain to play through. Nothing more than a cashcow for the platform to end successfully on. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will agree that i was NOT enjoying Abby's storyline for the first 1hr and half...but i also was tired as hell and angry that i was forced to play this side of the story because i was so sure it was going to feel SO FORCED on me. Like Naughty dog was screaming "PLEASE LIKE HER". Long story short, i started to actually like her from the lev and Abby go to hospital part and from then on i liked her. If you didn't like her at all, that means your still hanging on to the anger you felt when Joel was killed, and thats okay of course, no one is saying if you didn't like her that means you're a bigoted sexist **** or sum stupid **** like that. That only tells me how much you loved Joel and tbh that makes me like you even more because he's one of my favourite characters of all time. The only difference here is the game is showing Ellie and Abby ridding themselves of their anger to have found clarity, I'll get into clarity later. Now the point where i thought it was ABSOLUTELY GENIUS was where it is Abby vs Ellie and you play as Abby after killing Jesse AND Tommy (Supposedly) so then I'm feeling anger going " What the **** am i doing playing as her right now" and your main objective is to kill ellie. At this point i couldn't get enough, this game was forcing me to do something i didn't want to do and made me feel more conflicted than i ever have while playing a game Mind you i don't really feel emotional during games. I couldn't give less of a **** when Sarah died so the fact that the game was able to elicit this type of response from me was shocking to me and i ****ing loved it. So When it gets down to the last part of the cutscene where Abby breaks Ellie's arm and Dina rushes in and cuts up Abby and Gets shot in the shoulder with an arrow by lev then abby smashes Dina's head against the floor and is about to cut her throat and is told that she is pregnant AND SHE SAYS GOOD...i really felt and understood Abby's anger when i looked at it from her perspective. The symbolism between the 2 stories is SO uncanny. Abby's dad is killed because of JOEL'S decision to save Ellie. Joel Kills a Father. Abby's revenge story starts. Obsessive behaviour ensues, She tracks him down and kills Joel. Abby kills a father. Gets most of her friends killed because of this decision. Ellie's revenge story starts. Obsessive behaviour ensues. Ellie kills a Mother AND a Father. It deteriorates the relationships she has with her friends that ends up with them killed or leaving her. These points all started because of Joel's LOVE for Ellie. Ellie's revenge is sparked from her love for Joel. Abby's revenge is sparked from her love for her dad. Abby carrying Lev literally mirrors Joel carrying Ellie out of the hospital to the point of lev postioning her arm out like ellie's in part 1. ABBY'S DAD is WILLING to let the surgery happen, ELLIE'S DAD is REFUSING to let the surgery happen. Abby sees LEV and SPARES Dina, Ellie sees JOEL and SPARES Abby. These 2 stories are exactly the same thing...2 sides of the same coin. It ultimately all leads back to Joel, One person LOVES joel, one person HATES joel... and the lengths they are driven to because of the extreme experience of these 2 emotions results in both of them having lost virtually everything. To be clear, this isn't a "Whoever sees this and still thinks the story is bad is a ****ing dumbass who can't use their brain to understand complex storytelling" this ain't it. We can like different things, and To Me... this story is a masterpiece. Expand

It breaks my heart to see so many bad reviews but people have their opinion. I adore the game. It's a sad story where the "villain's" motivations are as important and understandable as the hero's. It's not fun to see where Ellie and Abby end up but the treatment of the story is very admirable because it's ballsy.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is very good, and while I understand most of the criticism regarding the story, I don't agree with what seems to be a common thread in many of the reviews - that games have to deliver the story YOU want. It drags on a bit, loses a lot of momentum around the middle, where it is also hard to get invested. All of that is true, I think. That being said, the story isn't really that bad. Characters that I love made choices that I strongly disagreed with. It made me uncomfortable, but I also didn't feel pandered to, which I think is pretty valuable in this day and age. Some have objected that the game is SJW propaganda, but I think that's ridiculous, when you've actually played the game. There is a trans-person in the story as well as a couple of lesbians, but those aren't their defining traits. They are actually fully fleshed-out characters, and their presence doesn't make the story any less relatable to me, a straight white man. You can still disagree with all the story choices, characters and such, I guess, but I really feel you're missing the forest for the trees if you focus in on those aspects, and blow them out of proportion.

The game is absolutely visually stunning, the sound design is phenomenal and the acting lives up to the standard that Naughty Dog has set since the first Uncharted. The gameplay and mechanics are basically the same as last time around, but with a few added features and a bit more fluency. The story is pretty bleak, filled with unresolved conflicts and frustrating character choices - but it is perfectly coherent, in my opinion. And I kind of like that. It's a little messy. Like life mostly is. I get it, if that's not your cup of tea, but honestly, if you expected your characters to be heroes and have everything tied up neatly in a bow by the end, you weren't paying attention during the first game. I'd say it's solidly established what kind of people they are, and to the objections that "Joel/Ellie would never do that" I have to say I disagree. I'm dancing near spoiler territory here, but the argument seems to be that Joel would never be caught off guard as he does in this game. But that absolutely happens multiple times during the first one, so... That Ellie is different than the beginning of the first game is another one I've seen quite a lot. But those reviewers seem to forget the last two chapters of the first game, where she was severely traumatized more than once. Plus, she's a teenager now, so...

My point is, just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's out of character. If you want more static characters, you could play Uncharted, or something like that.

I sort of digested the experience of completing the game over about a week. I had to get my head around the story, and what it was supposed to show. It's not that it's particularly deep, but the criticism that the point of the story is "violence is bad" is laughably superficial. If that's what people took from it, by all means they should leave it a poor review, but honestly, the review-bombing makes these reviewers look like spoiled children. Grow up. Naughty Dog is under no obligation to make the game that you want. You're free to play something else. Stop screaming in the super market.

Obviously, you can voice your criticism and disagreement, but come on - do you honestly want the entertainment industry to give you exactly what you say you want, every time? That sounds incredibly boring, to me, even if the risk is to sometimes play through something about which you're not quite sure how you feel, as you're playing. Last of Us Part II takes a risk, and hopes you'll give it the benefit of the doubt and play along, to see where it ends. Personally, I think it was more than worth it to follow the story through to the end. I felt sort of as I did after the first one, or after ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, back in the PS2 days - which is to say, it wasn't pleasant. At least not at first. But after mulling it over for a few days, I felt the same sort of understanding, I think. And those kinds of experiences are precious, at least to me. If that wasn't your experience, can I suggest that you either went into it looking for a fight, so to speak, or that it simply just wasn't for you?

Reasonable people can disagree, but if you do, may I at least suggest that review-bombing should be beneath you? If you think it sucks, play however much you want and review it honestly.

Normally, it's probably about 9 or 9,5 for me, but I'm leaving it a ten to balance out the bombers a little, even if it's just a tiny amount.

The combat was intense and a pleasure to do, it didn’t get repetitive except same lane every time I’d grab an enemy. The weapons where fun and different, I also like upgrading them which gave me another reason to explore and find parts. The upgrades where pretty simple but that’s ok for a game like this.

The level design was top notch, I enjoyed exploring the world, finding notes telling stories from the past and giving clues to hidden loot and safes, combinations. The world is pretty big which multiple routes you can take and different areas to combat in. There was a small section in the game that was more open world where you had to use a map and you checked off areas and building you have explored, I really enjoyed that. Which it would of continued through the game but in a linear story game I can understand why that would be hard to do. The story is really good. The first part you really care about what is happening and why you’re doing what you are doing. It’s intense sad and at times scary, you care about these people and you worry for them. Then there is a change about 1/3 through. At first I didn’t like it but the more I played through the more it grew on me, the characters grew on me and I was able to see things through a different light than before. 2/3 through the game I wanted it to end, not because I wasn’t enjoying the game or story but because I actually cared and worried about the characters. Don’t want to spoil anything but I really enjoyed the story. I saw some of the hate the game was getting before I got it. I kept waiting for the story to get bad and it didn’t. A part around the middle I thought it got bad but I kept playing and it wasn’t in hindsight. Most of the complaints generally don’t make sense, nothing Social justicy was shoved in my face. There is a trans side character but his sexuality is only mentioned once. Ellie is gay but that’s something brought up in the first game and DLC it didn’t and shouldn’t of bothered anyone then. The story is great but I can see how some might not like aspects of it but hey this is the Last Of Us it’s a dark and sad world it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. This game kept me glued to it till the end. It brought out a lot of different emotions while playing, it had events that stuck with me for awhile and kept me thinking. It has been awhile sense I couldn’t wait to get off work to play a game, you know how the day keeps dragging because you got a great game at home waiting for you. I give it a 10/10.

characters: Bad. The only interesting ones were constructed on the previous game, except for Dina, wich I found cool and a great partner,

story: It was a good idea, but was poorly executed. Abbys gameplay is too long and didnt make it easy to emphazise with her. I find okey that ellie didn´t killed her at the end, but she could have reached the same conclusion at her home. I find really forced the ending and how Ellie losted everything. It is as ND tried to make it sad on purpose, without thinking if it would make sense. I think inclusion wasn´t a problem, but hurts me that ND uses their best-seller to shout how tolerant and good they are. Whatever I liked Dinellie and find them as a good couple so ok

Conclusion: The expectatives were too high, and I am sure whatever they made there would be discontent fans. it was a good game, but OF COURSE is not the masterpiece everybody is talking about. Is not normal how much hate is recieving, and neither the 95 of metascore. The story is HIGHLY emotional, brutal and uncompromising. The script slightly reminds me of "Game of Thrones" with it's unexpected plot twists. Character development is something unseen before this game. This is the best revenge story in games and in movies by far. it's designed to be played, not seen. All story triggers work perfectly well for the player. All characters are greatly written, their motivation is undeniable. By the end of the game, you love both characters and you don't want to choose between them. The ending of the game gave me indescribable emotions. It took me several hours to recover and put everything in order in my head.
As for the ending it's very logical. This game should've ended in no other way but the way it ended. The game gave me the strongest emotions over the past 5 years, i even cried. It shows us how revenge destroys people from the inside. How revenge destroyed Ellie, the girl who charmed us in 2013.

It's 10/10, easily one of the best games of the generation. Maybe the best. Looking forward Cyberpunk 2077!

7 years of waiting for sequel, to get this? They killed Joel of like he does'nt mean anything.

    positives:
    - game play mechanics
    - graphics
    - setting
    - Ellie and Joel flashbacks (They are what kept me playing through the story.

    Negative:
    - The Story (literally why I play the game, I won't go into many spoilers other than Joel is killed early and in a garbage way with no closure)
    - Character development ( many characters make choices that make no sense such as the ending)
    - The entire portion playing as Abby. I honestly hated every second of it, and only wanted to get back to Ellie and Dina.

It is very unfortunate that so many people rushed to this site just to go out and review-bomb it due to leaks revealing the direction this game was taking before release. However, if you are considering playing this game, do not let the apparently overwhelming negative user reviews mislead you. Play it. Give it a chance. Many of these negative reviews where put up within hours of the game being released when it should have taken well over a day (without food or pee breaks) to even complete the game, let alone contemplate it enough to write a review. Don't let yourself be fooled. I'm not joking or lying when I say this game is a masterpiece, and if you're still concerned, most of the people who have actually played this game have positive things to say about it, too.

The gameplay doesn't change up a whole lot from what already worked in the original game, but it still adds some welcome new mechanics that give the player more freedom and choices. In addition, Naughty Dog has included a plethora of accessibility options so that pretty much anyone can enjoy the game. Did I mention that Naughty Dog has also put a complete technical marvel on display here? From the graphical fidelity, the incredible motion capture, the animation, the acting, the riveting musical score, those hilariously realistic rope physics, and the terrific sound mixing. TLOU 2 does it all better than any game Naughty Dog has ever released and better than any game I've ever played. Not to mention it does it all at a very consistent 30 fps at 1080p or 1440p depending on your console.

The sense of atmosphere is also an incredible achievement. In fact, there are many moments where the sense of dread and anxiety may be too overwhelming for some who are not used to such intense games. TLOU 2 mostly takes place in a harsh cordycep-infested Seattle, where most of the residents have only survived as long as they have by being ruthless and cruel, and for you to survive, this game will require you to be the same. The people here have formed societies in this city and, sure, not everyone within is as ruthless and cruel, but the ones that are often have more than enough determination to carry out their revenge, regardless of the consequences, and many times at the expense of those around them.

With all that being said, the main source of all the vitriol and controversy, is of course the story. In my opinion, the story here is vastly superior to the already excellent story of the original TLOU. It has more emotional depth, the characters (villains included) have more depth, and the stakes are much higher and more personal. TLOU 2 is a revenge story and it's a revenge story on more fronts than one. TLOU 2 also explores more complicated themes such as the cost of revenge and the main characters' obsession with it. Revenge becomes the drug that drives our characters and it will drive them to some seriously dark and disturbing depths. Unfortunately for everybody, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

The pacing and editing here is also master-class. For instance, there are a number of flashback sequences this game has to juggle, and each sequence involves different perspectives, characters, and years. Yet, somehow, each one arrives at the exact right emotional moment in the story and allows for new context to be added. Suddenly, a new layer will open up and certain story beats may now make more sense or have new depth added to them. Decisions you thought were right now may no longer be so clear-cut. Suffice it to say, the story will have you actively engaged and you will find yourself pushing yourself forward, eager to learn more.

Well, for most of you anyways, and that's the true tragedy of all this. There is a very real toxicity out there and this game is releasing in one of the most divisive and toxic times in recent history. TLOU 2 includes powerful female leads and LGBTQ+ characters in its story and for some bigots that may be unacceptable. The most generous and forgiving explanation I have to explain the rest of the backlash is that the story simply wasn't what some people wanted. However, to say this game has a "bad story" is simply wrong. Objectively, the story of TLOU 2 is quite brilliant! Naughty Dog took much bigger risks here and they clearly had their minds made up on what kind of story they wanted to tell. And they delivered. And this game delivers! The story broke my heart, made me cry, and upset me. To be honest, I couldn't tell you the last time a game affected me so. Sure, the story may not be to everyone's liking, and it may not be to yours, but after finishing it, you cannot say it was told poorly. I loved The Last of Us and I loved its sequel. If you played the first game and loved it, as long as you approach the sequel with an open mind, I'm sure you'll love it too.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really can't give this game more than a 5 I really can't. To kill of such an important character in the first two hours was just...
The fact that Joel got killed with a golfstick makes it even worse. The false advertisment, the story, the ending, everything about this story sucked. What? Ellie wants to get revenge on Abby and in the end she doesn't even do it. But before that she kills, pregnant woman, innocent people etc.
The character development just sucks, honestly. In the first game, Joel was this very cautious guy, who didn't trust anybody and now he just gets in a room with people he doesn't know and even tells them that they can restock at their base. It just does not make sense. Honestly, at some point I felt forced finish it, because I already bought it.
The game jjst didn't maje any sense. It just wasn't fun at all. The fact that in the end of the game everybody leaves Ellie and she is alone is just... depressing. That's all I can say about this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all let me start by saying the graphics and the overall sound of the game are the best we have ever seen. The story and gameplay compared to the brilliant part 1 are really bad. If you played the first one you probably love Joel and Ellie. The relationship between the two was slowly build up in the first one. Then came part 2... Joel gets brutally murdered and from that point the game was ruined for me. They expect us to sympathise with Abby the woman that killed to beloved Joel. I can't do this. I don't care for her or what happened in her past. The revenge plot is similar to that of a B movie. But then halfway through the game you have to play as Abby to try and like her. This is were I really didn't care about the game. I stopped searching for collectibles and overall exploration for me wasn't worth it anymore. The ending left a sour taste in my mouth because Ellie lost everything in this game and Abby got to walk away. They went with this approach and they failed misserably Joel and Ellie will forever be the true heroes in the last of us no one else. For me they butchered the last of us and I will try to forget that this game exists. I would happily another 60 euro's to play a better part 2 but I know that this will never happen. They should have made a game instead of making it a politically correct message. That you play as a lesbian wasnt the issue because I don't care what your sexual preference is. For me it is all normal. Expand

This is a game, that made me feel very unusual feelings. The story is tight and sends it's message gracefully and without moralising. If you want a game, that is not just another "kill bad guy, save the girl" but tries to work with the narrative the way only videogame can, you should not buy. But playing it won't be easy because of this

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
