Through breathtaking graphics and Naughty Dog’s painstaking attention to detail as well as excellent performances across the cast The Last Of Us receives a worthy sequel with a powerful message that leaves me thinking about it day after day.     On my second play through on survivor+ and TLOU2 continues to shine. This game takes narrative risks but ultimately adds new layers to the story unveiled during The Last of Us. Naughty Dog has delivered masterfully with its latest achievement. Salutations all round to cast and crew.

The freedom of exploration and the beauty of the surroundings makes it a very pleasant experience to travel, although it also has terrifying scenarios that combined with an amazing sound design you will feel so immersed that you forget that it is a video game. I really feel like this is a gift to everyone who enjoys this hobby.     I didn't play the first one and it embraces everything you need to know about Joel and Ellie.
    I think the people is giving a bad rating because the characters they present are as human as possible, making decision wrong and right. I was really surprised how really good this game is, everything from graphics, gameplay and story appeared to be perfect. The amount of detail and care they put in every aspect is insane. I think it would be extremely dumb to expect something lighter in a survival action that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. The last minutes of the game made me feel my heartbeat in my ears... Also, the length of the game felt very refreshing, especially after 3-4 hours of Resident Evil 3 remake that left me frustrated. It's like going back to 90s and early 2000s, when a game took weeks to finish, and it felt like a journey. Kudos to Naughty Dog, they raise d the bar extremely high.… Expand

    Great game, amazing graphics and game play. The story is great but it is not designed to please fans, it makes you feel vulnerable and in a real feeling of danger like if any of the characters can die any moment.

    Esse jogo é completamente incrível! Totalmente diferente de qualquer coisa que eu imaginava que seria. Estava a anos esperando a continuação, e quando finalmente chegou a hora de jogar, vemos que a Naughty Dog realmente cumpriu com o que prometeu. Um misto de emoções ao jogar esse jogo incrível!     The Last of Us Part 2 has a different proposal from the first one, it excenletly potrays the violence and the hate cycle in a destroyed world. It is one of the best games I have ever played

THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE, I mean i don’t know what to say really, the game is as close to perfect in my eyes, the story arc and just character development is A1, mainly because at the start of the game i wanted to see Abby get killed just as much as the next guy, but i never would of thought but by the end i felt sorry for her, she lost her dad to Joel, that is enough reason to go after him, let alone him being the reason the vaccine will never be created. She lost all of her friends, she lost everything, except for Lev. Surely thats worse than death. I also think the end of Ellie’s story was heartbreaking but perfect, there’s still hope for her imo, she learned that at times you gotta learn to not let your emotions get the best of you, to me and the end she’s going back to Jackson to possibly fix her relationship with Tommy, Dina etc. but thats me thinking positively, we’ll see if they do a part III. Also the gameplay is **** great, that **** is brutal and i love it, graphics are obviously incredible, cant wait for multiplayer, whenever that comes out. Overall its literally a perfect sequel, not quite as good at the original, but its so damn close.… Expand

    The best part of this game is the introduction of what will undoubtedly be a classic video game character: Abby...whatever her last name turned out to be. She's the most accurate depiction of a video game heroine that I've ever seen. I'm a huge fan of her, and I'm hoping to see more of her in the future.

El viaje que tomará es introspectivo, pues conocerá fragmentos de su pasado que cambiaron la perspectiva de quienes la rodean. Se trata de un ejercicio narrativo efectivo ya que no se siente que se haya traicionado la esencia de los personajes principales. Para lograr lo anterior, las actuaciones de Troy Baker y Ashley Johnson son realmente encomiables porque aportan una enorme dosis de humanidad a lo que se ve en pantalla. Ashley es, sin duda, quien se roba el show gracias a una actuación estelar que refleja de forma humana los diferentes matices en cada faceta del personaje de Ellie. Baker, por su parte, retrata a un hombre agotado que carga con demasiado en la espalda y quien busca la redención en una de las personas que más estima en la vida y que, incluso, ama incondicionalmente.     I have loved and played the first game from over 6 years so much that I've played through it 14 times with 100s of hours in the game’s surprise hit factions game mode. I have listened to the soundtrack for the main game and its wonderful DLC many time when I really should have been studying. When I first played The Last of Us Part 1 I was a Year 7 high school kid, in that time much hasI have loved and played the first game from over 6 years so much that I've played through it 14 times with 100s of hours in the game’s surprise hit factions game mode. I have listened to the soundtrack for the main game and its wonderful DLC many time when I really should have been studying. When I first played The Last of Us Part 1 I was a Year 7 high school kid, in that time much has changed for me and its wonderful to see The Last of Us grow and change with the times just as we all have. Please understand that I would be truly sad if this game was bad or even just good and to be clear it’s not perfect, for example it has more characters than the first and its pacing is not as airtight. However, the first game was imperfect as well (like any playable game) mainly on the gameplay side. I have played this game a total of 3 times on hard then normal new game plus where I got the platinum trophy and again on survivor with no NG+ upgrades. In this time I have collected over 74 hours of play as well as every collectable. In doing so I've opened ever drawer, stabbed every morally-grey guard and seen ever cutscene 3 times plus. I'm 8 hours or so deep on a fourth play through. In light of all the controversy and in order to produce an informed opinion and to truly enjoy this game I have so longed for, I have waited more than a month to write this after release. So what does all this add up to? Well in short I love this game deeply, in spite of nostalgia and the years of memories I can say that The Last of Us 2 is a better game than the first in almost every way. Before I say more as you may have noticed I am a severely dyslexic person and to finally have the option to read the many notes in the game (via the auto-read function) is so wonderful. To have a game that recognises and accommodates me and many other like me is a dream come true and I can’t tell you how much this changed the game for me, so before any more silly words thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now with that to one side, this game has lofty ambitions in both its story and gameplay, and for my money this is the best stealth game since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Its bloodily and desperate fights, especially on survivor, are everything that I wish the first game’s combat could have been and then some (btw I love the first game’s combat and think it's underrated), with plenty of great combat arenas holding some stellar enemy design and diversity, with lots of expanded traversal and crafting options which should please new and old comers alike. Now that we've established this, I believe it is time to discuss the core of this game and easily its most controversial element: the game’s beautiful and nuanced story. When describing The Last of Us Part 2 to friends and peers I like to begin by using the example of the tone of the winter section of the first game and go from there; that is to say this game is dark and knows it. Now of course this will come as no surprise to consumers of the first game. Many of us, including myself, may be surprised to know how just dark this game gets. With this said it still maintains the alluring flickering hope of the first game, embodied in different surprising ways in its three main characters: Joel (though not in a normal way), Ellie and ?? (play to find out). For example, there is a beautiful guitar scene that rivals the likes of Bioshock Infinite, wonderful heart-warming moments like this are as memorable as any from the first game and are never far from my memory. In short, much of this game’s backlash can be summarised through its unwillingness to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, which on the surface is a problem but in reality marks this game's intention to strive for something new. It would have been so easy to create a by-the-numbers sequel seemingly expected with the precedence established by something like Uncharted, but the game bravely refuses to sit on its laurels and in doing so creates an experience that cannot just be viewed only from the standards of the first but is something entirely new in its own right. To see this level of creativity and willingness to experiment in a big budget game like this is so heart-warming for a movie fan used to safe big budget sequels. In totality The Last of Us is nothing like what I wanted, in fact the experience of playing it humbled me and made me realise that in reality I didn't fully know what I wanted. Sitting here I'm proud to say that my preconceived ideas did not lead me to reject this game but instead to contemplate its many nuanced elements, and be thankful that I don't have direct control over everything that I love, because if I did the surprises and twists that I so loved in the first game might well not be there. In totality the first game convinced me to study writing at uni, this game inspires me to take what I've learned and go make something from it.… Expand

I like to take games nice and slow so I can soak up all the details and what’s going on in the story, so that’s why it took me so long since I pre-ordered it. First off, I understand why this game is getting so much hate. I really get it. I think the hate is wrong and misplaced, but I get it. Except for me, all the things that everyone hates soFinished the game a few minutes ago. Wow... I like to take games nice and slow so I can soak up all the details and what’s going on in the story, so that’s why it took me so long since I pre-ordered it. First off, I understand why this game is getting so much hate. I really get it. I think the hate is wrong and misplaced, but I get it. Except for me, all the things that everyone hates so much, I actually don’t mind. These things were necessary for the story. Especially when you have to do that thing halfway through the game for over 10 hours, I didn’t mind it and I thought it added a lot of humanity to the game and the characters. Towards the end, I hated both sides and didn’t want anyone to win because I thought everyone was wrong. And then in the final 3-4 hours, I loved both sides and was happy with the way it ended. The story of Joel and Ellie (and others) is a beautiful one and all in all, it’s a 10/10 for me. It’s not nearly as good as the first game, but it’s a 10/10 in its own way. Good job Naughty Dog. Proud of your team for going a direction not many people go. It’s a masterpiece whether people will admit or not. I think the reason people hate the game is because they wanted to play a game that they wanted. But you don’t get what you want. You support the developers and play their game. You’re not in charge of how a game comes out. So be the consumer and stop hating. If you’re hesitant to buy this game, I’d recommend it, but only if you go in with an open mind and ready to process all that’s thrown at you. It’s an emotional and intense game that has more twists than anyone could have guessed even outside the leaks. Play it. Just go for it.… Expand

    I could go on a long diatribe about this game. Truly I could go on-and-on about the the incredible gameplay, the expert storytelling, or the immaculate worldbuilding, but at the end of it all, it would mean just the same as this short summary: I was genuinely moved. This game affected my emotions in a way that games rarely do. It wasn’t always fun or easy, but it had me gripped the entire way.

Сюжет не слабый со своими резкими поворотами которые ты ники не мог ожидать, видов что компания старалась выпустить не что то сырое и недоработанное, постарались сделать игру которая затронет всех. Но сюжет в игре очень затянутый можно было сделать и быстрее, вырезать несколько моментов которые ни как неИгра хорошая, да есть свои недочёты. Но их немного. Графика в игре на высоком уровне. Сюжет не слабый со своими резкими поворотами которые ты ники не мог ожидать, видов что компания старалась выпустить не что то сырое и недоработанное, постарались сделать игру которая затронет всех. This time it was even more uncomfortable practically all the time, but I think they managed to make it more intentional and clear -- it's not supposed to be comfortable.

    So I actually preferred the plot in part 2, although    Finished the game on Hard in about three weeks. This time it was even more uncomfortable practically all the time, but I think they managed to make it more intentional and clear -- it's not supposed to be comfortable.

    So I actually preferred the plot in part 2, although I'd say I was more driven by the thrill of the insane, gratuitous, brutal action scenes than anything else. I simply love the chaotic mess that most fights turn into. But rest assured the story is solid enough, and NOT "full of gaping plot holes" or failing at "subverting expectations".

    Gameplay-wise, I'd prefer larger sandboxes to these completely pre-scripted events. There certainly would have already been enough content in the game to make it a more open place with some optional side missions etc. If I had my way, in hard mode you'd need to go through a lot of optional missions and find all the "bonus rooms" to get everything upgraded, to have a chance at proceeding through some harder bosses. Now instead you'll just have a harder time getting upgrades, because of lesser resources. Fine, that works as a way to make the game harder, but as a competionist, I wasn't too happy to have to start a "new game+" to get everything maxxed out. Of course I appreciate the option, but would have preferred to do it in one run.

    Same complaint as the first game: For a game that carries a message of anti-violence (however hypocritical that may be), I'd love to see more options to solve the levels non-lethally, such as zip-tying enemies or taking a hostage. You can kind of take a hostage and hold a gun on someone
    for 3 seconds. Not sure if I missed something here, but it seems they just always struggle out of it, unless you kill them almost straight away.

    You can still sneak or run through most levels, but that essentially feels like you just skipped them.
    And the game doesn't award you for letting those people live. You'll just miss out on the ammo you could have found on them (and the excitement of the fight).

    My absolute favourite part was triggering the undead against the live enemies, hiding and letting them kill each other! I was so thrilled about that, and then quite disappointed afterwards, that there was the only that single encounter where you could do that.

    Graphically, animatically, cinematographically etc. not even the haters are contesting that it's the best-looking game ever, and runs near-perfect on a standard PS4 (like, what do we need the PS5 for?), so... Even with my small gripes a very solid 10/10 "interactive movie".    … Expand

    This game traumatised me deeply and made me ugly cry longer than any other game I’ve ever played in my whole life. It was quite the journey that really makes for an emotionally challenging experience. On my second playthrough now and loving all the details to pick up on with hindsight now in hand. Visually and aesthetically stunning in every possible way.

    Although many expected a different story, The Last of Us Part II delivers in every single aspect. Naughty Dog took a very bold decision, and executed it almost flawlessly. The actual gameplay itself will reel you in, but the story and the character development is what gets you hooked. Hats off to Naughty Dog, you've made another masterpiece and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

    The first game was all about subverting expectations ( subverting the generic save the world from the apocalypse plot) and part II follows suit and really pushes the medium forward even more than the first one. The first game was just as depressing as the second. The first game had just as much violence as the first game. The first game portrayed the enemy factions as grey and sometimes even sympathetic as well. And part II has just as many endearing moments and lovable characters as the first.

    Even if the story was trash (it really isn't) the game would still not be a 0/10. Only unplayable glitchy messes, which can't get past their opening menu are a 0/10. The gameplay is some of the best stealth I've ever played, the game looks drop dead gorgeous, the soundtrack is amazing and the game runs very smoothly.

    Solid 10/10 for me. Don't let the 0/10 reviews scare you off from playing the game.    … Expand

    The story. The first half of the game is great. You have your mission as Ellie and you really feel what she feels. Then you get to the second part and if you are like me, you want to just throw the game out. But it was during that second half when I started to question myself, whether it is even worth to get our revenge with Ellie. And you realize, that this is what they were going for. To make you ask yourself, whether it is worth. The last mission was perfect for this. You really are in the position, where you are not sure, whether you are doing the right thing. The ending perfectly summarize all of yours and Ellie's feelings. It is not what we hoped for, but I think it is so much more. Every fan of the 1st game should give this a chance and to sit through it till the end. No matter the leaks, the flaws, or that you are not satisfied that Ellie did what she did in the end. I think it delivered bigger story than this generation of gamers can really appreciate by looking at the reviews. I know people have different opinions and that's fine. But we should try to look for the deeper meaning in the story, than just a dull revenge. We've seen this kind of story so many times. Naughty Dogs made something, that we were just not ready for and I love it. I don't regret a single minute spent with this game and I can't wait to play it again.

    For those of you who saw the leaks or stopped playing the game after the golf scene and think this game is **** Everyone loved Joel from the 1st game. Watching him die was a punch in the face. But it was not unexpected. At the end of the 1st game we killed the Fireflies. A group that was trying to save the world. That was a very bad move for Joel, even if it meant saving Ellie. So you could have guessed he will have enemies that are trying to get a revenge for that. When you watch Joel die, you feel the same thing as Ellie. You just thing it's **** and you want to kill them for it. But try to sit through it. I knew about the leaks, but I honestly didn't care. I knew they had their reasons for it and that it will be worth it. It was. Just don't play it like "This game is ****". Give it a chance and you may find yourself being grateful for doing so.     Amazing game! Nowadays it's rare to see games exploring topics like revenge, change, and redemption with such depth. The story is very interesting and immersive. Sad but realistic, showing us life is neither black nor white.That it's all a shade of gray. I found myself caring about a lot of the characters' fates. Visuals are awesome, gameplay, and music as well. A definite 10!

The Last of Us 2 deixa claro dês dos seus trailers que o jogo não precisa desse tipo de jogador (convenhamos, pessoas assim merecem apenas o esquecimento e o silêncio).
    The Last os Us 2 é um jogo que foge totalmente da maioria das histórias maniqueístas de games. Em diversos momentos da história do game senti um choque ... é um game muito pesado em sua narrativa, acompanhado de uma violência gráfica enorme ... Isso não é negativo, mas apenas uma justificativa de que esse game não é nem um pouco recomendável para os mais sensíveis ...

    Mecânicas, jogabilidade e gráficos: Sem dúvida é o game mais perfeito nesse aspecto que já pus as mãos... é inacreditável! Um jogo com a mecânica que beira a perfeição! Cada detalhe do cenário é bem feito, com gráficos foto realista, que me fez perguntar várias vezes se eu realmente estava controlando a personagem (sem exagero!). A física do game é perfeita de fato; reação a tiros, movimentação dos personagens, peso dos objetos, força dos golpes, explosões - você sente o impacto de cada coisa ...
    A violência gráfica entra nesse parte da análise também : quando acertamos os alvos, sejam humanos ou infectados, eles despedaçam, gritam de dor, se arrastam pelo chão em agonia ... é um show de horrores de certa forma "maravilhoso" e impactante, muito bem feito que podem agradar jogadores que gostam de uma certo impacto mais adulto nos combates (como eu haha).
    Quando me referi a uma "mecânica quase impecável", é porque o jogo (ainda) não é de todo perfeito. Algumas texturas demoram meio segundo para renderizar, ou alguns pequenos objetos do cenário parecem não ter texturas nenhuma (como uma garrafa, ou objetos em uma mesa). São detalhes mínimos, mas que não podem ficar de fora de um jogo que tenta ser tão detalhado - mas de forma alguma não afetam em nada no game, podendo ser concertado com um pequena atualização ...

    Conclusão: The Last of Us 2 é uma obra-prima. Tão bom quanto o primeiro, sua inovação não está tanto na forma de narrativa, mas na sua representatividade, acessibilidade e inclusão. Um jogo corajosíssimo em mundo tão intolerante em que vivemos, e com um primor técnico quase perfeito com deslizes desprezíveis. Nota máxima sem nenhuma hesitação!    … Expand

Не знаю как передать мои эмоции. А на ЛГБТ мне было плевать вообще. В игре было показано всего лишь 2 поцелуя главных героев. В общем 10 щелкунов из 1!0

    The Last of Us Part II is a heart breaking, emotional roller coaster of a story that pulls on your heartstrings at every available opportunity. The game play is an improvement in every way over the first and is some of the smoothest you’ll find out there. The hide and seek combat system is some of the most fun I’ve ever had and the in most cases the fights take place in such large areas there are many ways to take on each encounter. The crafting system lets you improve the guns in your inventory at workbenches scattered around the maps and make useful tools, such as health kits and molotov cocktails, on the fly. The kills can be incredibly gory, and it seems to venture a little too far into murder porn at times. However, I believe it’s done intentionally. The gruesome deaths, shotgun blasts eviscerating opponents, the horrifying screams as WLF soldier burns to death, the way dismemberment happens when someone triggers a mine, the cries that echo through the battlefields as enemies find the bodies of their dead companions, all add to the weight of the action of killing. It’s heavy and weighs on the characters and the player, I had to put the controller down a few times after some of the cutscene deaths and a few of the more graphic close-up fights. But you’re killing people, and the game wants you to know that.

    All that said, the game is beautiful. Seattle is full of new life in this post-apocalyptic world. Lush plant life and rivers cut through the city and it’s quite easy to get lost in the scenery. Sunlight is used to great effect as you explore derelict buildings, boats and the landmarks of Seattle. Rain, snow and thunderstorms are used beautifully to heighten tension and paint gorgeous backdrops and environments in and out of the city. Luckily, there is a photo mode, and one of the better ones out there, to help capture the scenes you want to save. The animators did a fantastic job with each and every character and the game has some of the best voice work in video games to date. I’m actually very upset Ashley Johnson can’t get nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Ellie.

    Now onto the story, this oh so controversial thing that has fans, wrongly, in an uproar. But why? Most don’t even know what they’re mad about because they haven’t bothered playing it. So how is the story really? Simply put, it’s a masterpiece. It’s as engaging as it’s studio predecessor, Uncharted 4, and holds up against the likes of God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon: Zero Dawn. The game is lengthy and weighty and takes a lot of time setting the stage and exploring the characters. The story is one of revenge and what happens when the people who matter most to us get violently ripped away. It uses a dual narrative to draw comparisons as you play as both Ellie on her revenge quest and Abby, Joel’s killer. Ellie’s mission for revenge tugs on your heart strings as she refuses to listen to reason and throws herself and her friends into constant danger trying to take out the person who took what mattered most to her. Then, very suddenly, you are transitioned to Abby’s perspective and story as the clock is moved back and you experience Seattle over the same 3 days you did with Ellie on her hunt. Abby is a hardened killer whose story takes her on journey to regain some of the humanity lost to her as she protects two innocent children caught in a war between the WLF, Washington Liberation Front, or Wolves, a para-military group that took over Seattle and the Scars, or Seraphites as they call themselves, a group of religious fanatics who follow the teachings of The Prophet. A woman who saved many people in the early days of the apocalypse and was killed by the WLF. Abby is not an easy character to like, in fact one of her companions even points out over and over how bad a person she really is. But you aren’t given her perspective to force you to like her. It’s important to the whole story. How revenge is cycle. How killing people even for noble or righteous reasons only leads to more suffering. Connecting the dots between the two stories as you play is thrilling and fun and definitely warrants a second playthrough just to see all the pieces you might have missed. A character encountered as Ellie gets further explored and given life from Abby’s perspective. The game makes you think through each character’s decisions as you realize the full scope actions have, actions you won’t always agree with but because of how well the characters are set up you always eventually understand. The game overall, like the first, is about relationships and the lengths we go to for the ones we love. Not only is it the perfect follow up to the first game but it holds the spirit and ideals explored in the first very close while expanding on and adding too them.    … Expand

    TLOU Part II is the best experience in your life you can ever get from a videogame. Nowhere near that this game deserves 0 rates which many of the people stated. I do not need to talk about the graphics. People can not get an idea about how this game's gameplay is so pleaser and fun by its own regardless of the story while only watching the Let's play videos.     Unique experience unlike any movie, book, or video game before it. The criticism is mostly hollow and offers no real insight on anything in the game, other than “I wanted something different to happen in the story”. Gameplay, graphics, voice acting, all 10/10

    I loved this game. The story was challenging, and all the hate the game is getting I believe is unwarranted, however I get if people don't like the story. Hating on the devs or actors for the story is just dumb. The story causes you to feel one way, but then works to give you a reason to reevaluate those feelings, which I think is utterly genius

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
