    This game is absolutely incredible-- from start to finish, the story, gameplay, graphics, atmosphere, acting is all top notch and unmet in the industry. The first game still stands tall as my favorite of all time, but I never thought a sequel could be made for it which was worthy.

    The game challenges you, both with its story and absolutely brutal combat (play on hard to start). Use the different enemies against each other or calmly take out all foes without a sound. Story was great from start to finish! It maybe ran a little long towards the end but overall it was superb story telling and a massive success. Im ready to dig into new game plus mode!… Expand

Was I shock when I had to play the person that killed Joel. Of course but it was a risk that naughty dog wanted to make to show people how it is on the other side. I get why people are upset but why would you let that ruin your experience of an amazing game. They push the bar to bring you something different, something new. To me tlou2 is an amazing game that I will defend… Expand

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a triumph; it is an emotionally dense game with a compelling cast and a beautiful, gut-wrenching story. It’s a shame neckbeard simpletons have brigaded user reviews for this game. This is a vocal minority - a group of hate-filled people.

    You know a game is good, when you keep thinking about it for weeks after you've finished playing it. The Last of Us Part II is not at all what I was expecting but much better because of it.

    This game really touched me deeply. I had to think about it a lot. I don't understand why so many people are not happy with it, because I like the story and the message behind. And even if you don't like the story it's definitely not 0/0, because it looks and sounds so amazing. For me The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece.

I did everything I could to avoid any spoilers and kept completely away from reading why people were outraged. I would've probably been swayed to feel a different way if I had engaged with the hysteria. I was expecting it to be clear to me why people were raging so hard, but throughout the game I couldn't figure out what it was.
    Graphics and sound in this game is just mind blowing.
    The storytelling methods and production value is unmatched and groundbreaking, whether you like the plot or not, which I did.
    They did some bold things with some of the story which in the end turned out really powerful in my opinion.
    The gameplay is slightly above average with no new innovations, which is standard Naughty Dog, but that's not why you play their games.
    Basically I got exactly what I expected from a last of us sequel and I had a gaming experience that I will remember for a long time.    … Expand

Ich bin erst bei der Hälfte des Spiels, aber es ist in meinen Augen ein Meisterwerk. Da muss schon grob etwas in die Hose gehen, zum Ende, um mich zu einer weniger guten Bewertungen zu bewegen. Ab der Hälfte spielt man Abby, welche, meiner Meinung nach, ein noch bewundernswerterer Charakter ist als Ellie.     Graphics and gameplay are fantastic and lot better than part 1. While story is not for everyone.they could have used red dead redemption approach which would please lot of people but they didn't. They took a new and authentic approach. Which was very realistic and relatable. I didn't liked TLOU1 but I knew that TLOU2 would be different and unique (in good way).

    This game is simply out of this world, the way that it makes you feel, the amount of thought that you give to the game, the amount of emotions that makes you transmit the conversations that sparks after playing and its gameplay, ambiance and innovative enemy elements is out of this world.
    No other game ever did the commotion that this one did.
    It's a wonderful game and my top 1 game for sure.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As someone who actually played and finished the game (busy with + mode now), I really loved Part 2. The big event at the beginning was spoiled for me, but I kept hope alive that it was out of context. As many others, I was sad, angry, and disappointed that it happened, but I understand that this is the world they live in. It’s not a happy ending type of world. The second half of the game was not spoiled for me, and so I was shocked to see the character who features. I felt weird playing as Abby, but I could understand her perspective. The game made me do things I did not want to which, in the moment, I did not like, but I understood why ND placed that on the player. The two confrontations presented me with so much internal turmoil, and I didn’t want to align with the characters. The open-ended ending makes me hopeful that a third installment will be on the way. There was so much to digest and I wanted to experience the game again. As of this post, I am on day 2 in Seattle with Ellie. I love the world and characters of TLOU.… Expand

    You have to play all of it and go into this game with an open mind. Amazing storytelling, amazing character development and nothing we've ever emotionally experienced in gaming before. No-one said this would be a happy ending. It may not be the game most people wanted but it may just be the game we needed.

It grapples with the themes and messages it sets out to with a confidence and capability that I’ve never seen in a video game. Utterly masterful and bleak in a way that fits perfectly with the historical moment we’re living in. Playing this game felt like watching one of myDon’t believe the babies crying about this game.     Masterful storytelling. All those posting reviews on day of release clearly have not even played it. This is easily as good if not better than The Last of Us (part 1) and the game toys with your emotion the entire way through, finished this morning and instantly started a second playthrough!

I concisely avoided all media coverage of the game before finishing the it myself in order to avoid spoilers and I'm relly glad I did so. Coming into the game with an open mind, I really do think it's a masterpiece and a worthy sequel to the first game. Avoid all spoilers and you'll have a great time. One last thought, if someone would have told you all the major plot points of Breaking Bad for example before watching it, you wouldn't enjoy nearly as much as watching it with an open mind.     Great game. I don´t understand that hate to Abby... She was a great character who was better person than Ellie for 100%. Eliie was acting like a child. Abby let her go 2 times. I see it like really stupid to hate Abby. Ellie was the villain for me.

I just finished the game today and it wasn’t until checking what the reviews were like this afternoon that I realised there was such a backlash. I have no idea why people hate the game so much. It’s genuinely awesome. The storyline was brilliant. The graphics are brilliant. The music is brilliant. The voice acting is brilliant. I get some parts of the story make you roll your eyes a bit but what video game doesn’t have some slightly strained plot devices? Yeah sure occasionally a character will do something a bit weird just to get the story moving along but it’s not a reason to give the game such harsh reviews. I can only guess people are upset that Joel dies so brutally and so early in the game but it’s just a video game for gods sake! Another guess is probably because there is a hench woman as main character working with a transgender character but so what? It was done tastefully and didn’t feel overly politically correct at all. My main issue was the searching for loot mechanic felt a bit tedious, running around rooms looking for bits got a bit dull but that was my only complaint.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A masterpiece. I was truly devastated with the first major death. But intrigued none the less.. I’ve never felt so emotionally attached to a fictional character, through any type of medium.. so I plunged into a hate filled lust for revenge as the game intended.. I enjoyed hearing of Tommy’s success and similar when playing as Ellie I could add to her list as the game went on. When Abbey showed up at the theatre I was gearing up for the final act, instead I was thrown into a whole new side mission (or what I thought was a side mission) until it became clear the narrative was matching the timeline though through Abbeys eyes! It took me a while to get to grips with this, as I was moulded into hating this girl for what she did.. the journey went on, and with a master stroke by the creators, indeed I did grow to enjoy my time as Abbey! In fact, probably even more so then I did as Ellie at times! As much as I hated to admit that at first! The game play, story line, and amazing mix of encounters as Abbey, was such a rollercoaster, and some of the best gameplay of the series so far! It turns out Abbey is the replacement for Joel you didn’t even know you wanted! She is brutal in combat, and an absolute powerhouse of ferocity! The (what I thought, again, was the final act) fight against Ellie, in the theatre, was one of the cleverest moments I’ve ever been witness to in a video game! It threw me back to MGS2, when I had Snake watching my back when playing as Raiden.. you got to feel/experience, from the outside, how badass this character is! I could hear Ellie healing, then I hear her dropping trap mines, and I knew how much of a fight I was in for! She was as formidable as she should be! No easy fight! With that, you’re thrown into a new world! Ellie seems like she has found her peace, and is living and dancing up a storm with her dream girl and their baby JJ! It’s such a nice moment, be it short lived.. I was ready for it to end, as much as I loved the game, I, like many, thought it was over! Then, AGAIN, we’re thrown another curve ball!! Back to ABBEY! This is the moment I chose to take a break and get to bed, and get back to it the next day! I jumped back in, and without taking long I’m finally given control of Ellie again, and with a fully loaded bag pack! This lead to one of the most fast paced, and exciting parts of the series! I chose to let loose and have a little fun with explosives and machine guns, and enjoyed every minute. The final final final act, a hand to hand fight with a gaunt and almost dead Abbey (equally almost dead Ellie) is capped with a massive choice that Ellie chooses.. forgiveness! She made a tough choice, but the right one.. she forgave Abbey, and in my opinion, Joel too. I wasn’t intending on a long review, but as soon as I got going I felt it a worthy few minutes to type this out. I’ve never been more engaged in a game, and I can’t wait to see what they do next, if they come back the franchise or not, I loved the series and I’m truly grateful for the wonderful masterpiece they gave us. 10/10… Expand

The loss of a beloved character from "part one" caused a backlash from some of the more toxic fanbase that either quit the game at that point or failed to register the reason behind the test of the game. The areas in the game are vast and beautifully executed, with nooks and crannies that would be perfect for multiplayer. The only issue I had with the game was the required killing of man's best friends, but that also added to the realism of the game and was well thought out.… Expand

For what seems like forever I heard nothing but bad, negative and hatefull things about The Last of us 2 on how "the game betreys and spits in the face of fans", and "the writing is garbage", and "we hate that **** Abby". With so much negativity and hate, I questioned whether or not I should even get it, and to be honest I was worried about the game. However, unlike most gamers I am very open minded and wasn't going to judge the game untill I got it and played it. I went in knowing one of the spoilers but I didn't let that discourage me. And I'm glad I did.The Last of Us Part 2 exceeds part 1 in every way possible. The graphics are breathtaking, the sound design perfect, the level of detail in every environment you walk through is beyond magnificent, combat is grounded and brutal. Ashley Johnson's performance of Ellie was the highlight of the whole game, she deserves an award for her performance! The Last of Us Part 2 was an emotional game to get through, by end of it I was wiping tears from my eyes. When the credits rolled I was left with the same awe and amazement after playing The Last of Us back in 2013. With The Last of Us Part 2 Naughty Dog has cemented why they are the BEST developer in the world, no other developer comes close to the talent and pedigree they achieve. First of all I think that the last of part 2 is one of the biggest masterpiecies of the entire decade. I think that the story might not be happy, but it is a huge huge success at telling a deep meaningful story of the humanity and the world that Ellie, Abby, Joel etc live in. What most of the people that disliked the game don't understand and it's really difficult to understand because the only way you can get the story is by knowing that it is a deep really deep meannig that other films and games have used in the past and this way they just underestimate the game. I am not hatting Joel but I am just saying that he did many bad things and after getting his daughter back he started a new life and trying to be a better person and forget his past but it was too late to change his character and the thinks he did were not forgivable and what he trying to do was to just not let her go before him and he succeed in doing.     This game is amazing! For people that just read the leaks or just the plot, you will never understand the reflexion inside this story. The end is excellent amd the atmosphere is very immersive. The graphics of the game is the best part of this success with the soundtrack. Violemt,inntellect, I will wait for a 3 parts !!

    It's amazing. I never thought that a game coul mix all these feelings with a story. I really enjoyed all the characteres, all the multual plots and how they can be used in the future in other games. it's just amazing.

Yes the story does not go the way that people imagined or hoped it would, but that is what I love about it. It beautiful portrays the hellish reality in which they live. Their motives are scattered and they are lost. Ellie blindly seeks revenge in hopes that she can regain some normality only to discover in the end that revenge will not help her. The characters have become as wild as anyone else they face throughout the game. The different emotional elements the characters have to face creates so many layers of intrigue. You really start to worry for them and feel their dread. How they make you feel the world through Abbies eyes is incredible. It really shows you that living in this world is tough for everyone and not just Ellie. At first you despise Abbie but then you start to empathise with her and understand where she is coming from. This is not just a typical revenge story, their are so many different variables that make it truly fascinating. Everybody has a different opinion on this game and at the end of the day your opinion is what matters the most. And in my opinion this captivating journey, with it’s gorgeous scenery and super fun gameplay has been one of the Greatest games I have ever played.… Expand

People are rating it so poorly and I just don't understand. This game is fantastic and challenging. Not only does it challenge you emotionally with constant stress and the ever present fear of being captured or killed, but it challenges you morally. It opens up discussion of punishment and what people deserve for their actions. Did Joel deserve to die? Did Abby's father deserve to die? Not only those challenges but the game is BEAUTIFUL!!! Visually it is wonderfully made, the game level design is dynamic and detailed. The characters are fully realized. DID YOU KNOW EACH BAD GUY HAS A NAME!! EVEN THE DOGS! This game is so REAL! Its real and raw, its emotional and story driven.     This game does a great job of making you see things from other perspectives. Everyone hates Abby for killing Joel but what Joel did at the end of the first Last of Us was worse. Abby killed the man who destroyed the best chance of getting a vaccine. Abby isn't perfect and there was no reason for her to torture Joel and she did some bad things in hers past as well but she is not the bad guy.    … Expand

    Just finished the game. Was a bit worried with all the negative reviews. But in all honesty it was a great game. One of the best I ever played. I definitely think it was better than the first one.

    Even if you might not like the story of TLOU2, technically this is the most amazing game out there. The way all the animations blend in so smoothly is great, the dynamic combat with how you always have to think what move you're going to make with the add of the beautiful graphics, which sets the atmosphere incredibly, and the sound design is just mind blowing.

    I don't understand how people rated this so low?!!!! it is honestly the best game ive ever played. the first game was #1 in my book for a long time before this came out and while I was skeptical that a sequel could be anything besides terrible given how so many are these days this game surpasses the first. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

    Incredible game, loved it more than even the first one. I think the negative reviews stem from people who just heard about the spoilers and didn't actually play the game itself. Awesome game play, graphics and voice acting. The ending concluded the story perfectly and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Y en lo personal el guion me pareció bueno, aunque si hay algunos diálogos que son un poco absurdos o sin sentido; en general es un juego muy bueno que se nota que seLa verdad me parece un muy buen juego, es verdad que algunas partes de Abby pueden parecer que están de más, pero al final es profundizar en el personaje y poder mostrarte los dos lados de la moneda, lo cual es bueno.
