    It’s not the Last of Us 1, and that’s a good thing. Part 2 is its own beast but it stays true to the spirit of the first game. It’s challenging, complex, and at times frustrating and uncomfortable, but if you allow it to, it has the potential to evoke feelings no other game has elicited from me before. The gameplay is great, the environment and graphics are gorgeous, the performances fromIt’s not the Last of Us 1, and that’s a good thing. Part 2 is its own beast but it stays true to the spirit of the first game.     Pienso que el juego es maravilloso en todos sus apartados, incluyendo la narrativa. He visto opiniones muy diversas al respecto de la narrativa, todas muy justificadas y argumentadas, hablando bien y hablando mal. Al final me di cuenta que todo es muy subjetivo y cada quien utiliza argumentos muy tecnicos para justificar su opinion propia. Por tanto no hay forma clara para decir si estáPienso que el juego es maravilloso en todos sus apartados, incluyendo la narrativa. The Last of Us Part II es la experiencia mas fuerte y dura que pueda uno sentir en un videojuego pued logra muy bien el objetivo de mostrarte que en un mundo caotico, cruel y vil no existe alguien bueno o malo ya que te llega a poner en contra de la misma protagonista del juego, esto lo consigue dandote una montaña rusa de sentimientos que van del odio a la tristeza desde el principio del juego con la presentacion de un personaje nuevo, Abby quien entra de la manera mas fuerte posible, acabando con la vida del protagonista del anterior juego Joel en este punto embarcas una aventura impulsada por el deseo de venganza, en esta cruzada Ellie no estara sola pues ira acompañada de personajes como Jessie, Tommy y Dina siendo esta la que mas resalta de los 3 al ser la pareja de Ellie y su apoyo incondicional y sincero durante la aventura deja un vinculo muy fuerte con el jugador, el juego resalta en su jugabilidad y detalles que hacen cada vez mas inmersiva la experiencia de estar en ese mundo siendo entretenido explorarlo ya que en cada esquina puede como tambien no haber algo interesante. Llegara el punto en que empezaras a jugar con Abby y con ella pasaras al rededor de un 40% del juego, y este punto es totalmente nesesario para la historia ya que busca provarte el punto del juego dandote el pasado y los motivos de Abby mostrandotr que es un personaje que sufre y que tiene sus problemas y ademas que demuestra como el acto de amor del anterior juego de salvar a Ellie dejo fuertes repercuciones en Abby, y logra muy bien el echo de hacerte entender el personaje y hasta conectar con el, este juego te seguira llevando por diferentes momentos hasta el punto en que estaras en desacuerdo con el personaje de Ellie mostrandote como la venganza la consume h la lleva por un camino que le dejara fuertes cicatrices, ya que terminara con su redencion pero en un punto en que ya paga las consecuencias por tener el deseo de vengar a quien alguna vez fue lo mas parecido a un padre que pudo tener, por esto y mucho mas que solo se puede experimentar jugando esta obra de arte es que para mi es un 100/10 y vale mucho la pena jugarlo… Expand

    This game is a masterpiece, it brought teachings to life. For every situation in the game, there was a motivation. Revenge was the main one, but in the end it only took the loss on all sides. The teaching: No revenge is worth so much.

    Yeah the story takes some unexpected turns but still, this is a gorgeous game full of detail and entertaining combat. The set pieces are breathtaking and sound design is one of the best I've ever experienced.

    Easily the best game I’ve ever played. I went in hating Abby and finished the game with her as my favorite character. Every turn hit hard. Every person made an impact. Every moment, every building searched, every single second made an impact on me.

    The game is wonderful, amazing story, but it could be a little better, playing with Abby is fun, because you can kill her in different ways hahaha, but it is also a bit dragged, your story would like to have seen more Joel and Ellie again.

    Amazing game. I thought the story was beautiful and sad, but ultimately its the breathtaking gameplay that I will remember with half a dozen amazing set pieces that are as good as any naughty dog game. Genuinely creepy sections too. Each to their own of course but I do not understand where a lot of ppl are coming from when criticising this game.

    I managed to avoid all spoilers and reviews but was aware of some bad reviews for this game. I am happy I did as you only get to experience things for the first time once. I finished it yesterday so thought i'd check out reviews on YouTube and Reddit etc and was genuinely surprised at the hate thrown at this game. I'm just a bloke from West Yorkshire so what do i know, but I loved it. TheI managed to avoid all spoilers and reviews but was aware of some bad reviews for this game. I am happy I did as you only get to experience things for the first time once. I finished it yesterday so thought i'd check out reviews on YouTube and Reddit etc and was genuinely surprised at the hate thrown at this game. I'm just a bloke from West Yorkshire so what do i know, but I loved it. The atmosphere created by the music and environment was tense, scary and beautiful. I was moved and hurt by the story. I empathised with most of the character, feared Ellie, was gut wrenched many times even though I knew I the reason for the heart ache were actions I had carried out hours before. Yes it is a bit long in parts, there were times that i could only play for about an hour before taking a break, sometimes this was due to the stress, other times it was because I wanted to savor it.

    As a piece of media there is no way this is a 0-5 game. If you play games to get lost in a world, forget about your job, or to waste some time then you cannot go wrong with it. Thoroughly enjoyable and I can honestly say I feel a bit empty now I am no longer playing it.    … Expand

More importantly, the story is incredible. This game makes you, the player, constantly uncomfortable and emotionally torn throughout the game. There is constant cognitive dissonance.     The game is great. You might not like the story because it is a sad story. If you want to play a game with a happy story, I recommend SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated. Although its gameplay is not nearly as polished or fun, you don't need to worry about feeling sad at any point. However, if you can handle negative emotions like an adult and you want a masterworkThe game is great. You might not like the story because it is a sad story. If you want to play a game with a happy story, I recommend SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated. Although its gameplay is not nearly as polished or fun, you don't need to worry about feeling sad at any point. However, if you can handle negative emotions like an adult and you want a masterwork post-apocalyptic survival game, then I highly recommend The Last of Us part 2… Expand

    Great game! The only thing that confused me was a lie in the trailer (about Joel. But story and personalities the best! I’ve been through a lot of emotions. A lot of thanks to creators! I love it!I think TLOU is next level for video games.

This game is by far one of the most polished games out there. I loved it and after beating the game I always think about it. This game is not just a game but an experience you'll never forget.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Okay, so let me start by saying this isn’t the story that I wanted. It’s sad, morbid, depressing, and it sank my heart. But so did Bridge to Terabithia. Both stories are AMAZING. Sometimes a story reminds you that real life happens. Not every ends with a Rocky fist raised. Not every character is Obi Wan Kenobi or Tony Stark, leaving on his terms, saving the lives of those that matter, and embracing the void. Going gently into the goodnight. A hero’s death is a hopeless gesture. Real death...is always sudden no matter how it happens. Every death is Peter Parker in endgame. And thus it was with Joel. I’d spent a lot of time with Joel, across my 4-5 full playthroughs. He was near and dear to me. And in the opening hours, the first 3, he dies. Brutally. By a woman who appears as brutal and primal as the death she handed Joel. She’s a hulking figure, and this brute kills our Joel. And that is the moment many people saw prematurely, or simply turned the game off afterwards, that lead to this game being robbed of the acclaim it deserved. It’s tough to stomach, tough to accept, and on my second play through I skipped it entirely. So heavy are the emotions such a scene envokes. However, if you approach any death or sad situation in a story as “why did the writers do this,” instead of “why did these characters do this,” you will always be upset. The reaction to Joel’s death determines your review. The game shows you both sides, and yet so many people could care less about Abby because of what she did.The way they show Abby and build sympathy wasn’t perfect, the pacing was an issue—what with all almost the characters in her story having already died in Ellie’s—and some parts were just boring (I’m looking at you Awuarium flashback/Seattleday 1) however, it was good nonetheless. Those weak points are mostly covered by highs that I’ve rarely EVER seen in gaming. There are spectacles galore. One of the greatest moments in the game is one I hated the most going into. The theatre scene. You okay as Ellie earlier but then..you switch perspectives. THIS TIME YOU ARE ABBY. And I was PISSED. WHAT??? You’re gonna make me kill Ellie and Dina? No **** way. I let myself die quite a few times. And once I finally decided to just let the story move on—you begin to realize Ellie doesn’t die, and now you’re just trying to kill her. And boy is she hard to kill. What Naughty Dog did here is take all the conflict the characters have right now, and relay them through you in a way that just wouldn’t be possible if Ellie got to beat up on Abby. You’re mad at the devs, why would they do this to you, you feel betrayed, after you’ve already given them a second cha—ohhhh. That’s exactly how Abby feels. She spared Ellie’s life and in return Ellie killed everybody she had ever loved besides Lev. You’re worried about Ellie, just like Dina does, and when Dina jumps in all you’re hoping is that she doesn’t get hurt. And right before Abby can finish the deal, it’s Lev who stops her. It’s gone too far she echoes, just leave it. And Abby does, with a promise that a return means death and you the player definitely believe her. And Ellie tries to but she can’t. She’s haunted by everything that has happened to her. Dina has the baby, they’re living in a farm, life should be good. But in the middle of the night Ellie goes off to complete her quest...and doesn’t. What some people concluded was that this was the game trying to tell you that “blah blah murder bad” which shows a historical missing of the point. So as the fight ensues, while some were waiting to slit her throat, I just wanted it to be over. I felt bad for both characters, and I knew that no matter who left that water, they’d both die. And...neither do. It was...brilliant. Yet again, where some clocked out I fell in love. Ellie goes home to a house empty, which is the saddest thing imaginable. She did all that. But for what? She has nothing, or does she? What I noticed is Ellie didn’t have her bracelet when she went on this quest. It wasn’t on in her fight with Abby. But low and behold...there it is.     I went into The Last of Us Part II knowing the spoilers for the first bit of the game. I soon realized that some of the spoilers were wrong and that the game was great.     If you can look past the excessive violence - this is a generation-defining game. In short - it challenges you in so many ways - it challenges your assumptions about the characters you meet, about your motivations & theirs - there were many moments in which I cried, or just left with my mouth agape, its an experience I will not soon forget.

    This is one of the best games I have ever played. I really enjoyed the story and how it was very brutal and dark. Feels much more realistic compared to other games. The combat is extremely fun and beautiful graphics make for a fantastic experience. You go on a roller coaster of emotions over the long and tough journey. A must play for any PS4 owner.

It allows to learn the story from different perspectives and leaves your morality the question who the baddies are. The graphics along with the art style are simply astounding. The exploration brings variation to the game and rewards you adequately. The combat is satisfying and character design lets you learn the personalities of your companions. Not to mention all those little details like gorgeous weapon upgrading animations or interesting environmental riddles. And so glad they involved some often overlooked LGBT characters.… Expand

It didn't feel like I was the good guy and o had to shoot people because I was good. But the themes and ambitious writing have forced me to contemplate and come to grips with the story it told. It is not a feel good story, but a story that is dark and harrowing, much like the world of the Last of Us. There are some parts of the story that do seem rushed or poorly put together however that does not take away from the experience as a whole. Playing as Abby forces the player to see the other side, which is something that is not often done in media. Too often we are presented a story with clearly established heroes and villains, completely ignoring the real world where everything is a shade of gray. No one person is all good, just as no one person is all bad. The gameplay is brutal and horrific, which is perfect for the game and can even be very challenging on higher difficulties. Overall the game is not for everyone, but it is an incredible work of art and fiction worth checking out.… Expand

    When I sat down to play the game I was instantly hooked. It's a thrilling, emotional and devastating revenge story that barely let's you catch your breath. The writers do an incredible job at showing the futility and destructiveness of revenge as well as the grey morality of the characters. The switching perspectives between protagonists will make you realize no character is completely good or evil, they all have their own motivations and their own stories. You'll begin to feel like every NPC you kill has lived a life just as rich and full as Ellie and Joel have. Which adds significant weight to every encounter. It's a difficult thing to come to terms with as a gamer, as you are so used to feeling certain throughout the game that what you are doing is right. You will not feel like that playing this game.

    Yes this game is heartbreaking. Yes it's not what many players wanted to become of these beloved characters. But it's an example of some of the most gripping storytelling in gaming I've experienced (I haven't been as hooked to a story since Red Dead Redemption 2) and it left me staring blankly at my TV for the entire duration of the end credits. Feeling a thousand emotions at once. Gamers are emotional. So I completely understand some people's anger at the story. But the story is fantastic nevertheless.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought this game was a master piece and just as good as the first one. I love how it plays with morality and as it set me out on a quest for revenge I wanted whole hearted to take down Abby and avenge Joel.

    However once I steped in Abbys shoes I was not only blow away by the fact that they are a mirror of each other but also the fact that Naughty Dog made me side more with a character that was just introduced as the villa, over the main protagonist of the previous 2 games.

    Abby as a character is strong both physically and morally but she is also very much so human, she has fears, impulses and failures but they all add up to make what I would consider a perfect character.

    Loved the game loved the characters and loved the whole broken people in a broken would theme. 10/10    … Expand

    But for me, it is the best part, at first when we were given to control Abby. But this is the beauty that you've to journey along with the person you hate and see her emotions, see her getting peace because hate is not the solution (which she thought she will get after killing Joel. The peace she achieved and the peace Ellie achieved in the end were similar. For me, it was a beautiful story.    … Expand

    It's raw, it's upsetting, it's sad.
    There's anger and confusion, every topic is spot on. The level design is supporting the whole plot and makes it even more intense.
    Naughty Dog did an amazing job and I'm glad it took this long to come out. Product is finished and close to perfect.

I find it interesting that most people who scored the game 0/10 pretty much had nothing to say except for that they hate women with muscles, that Ellie happens to like another woman, or that there is no character development at all. Makes me wonder if they actually played the game from start to finish or if they just jumped up on the hate train. Here is my take as a person who absolutely loved the first game and have been waiting patiently for the second part. And boy do they start with a kick to your gut. I read that the story is a lot darker than the last one, and it sure is.

    People talk about character development as if it's supposed to go from one extreme to the other, but only from bad to good, from immature to experienced, from follower to leader. And for parts of TLOU2, that is true. Abby, first introduced as the person we're supposed to hate, who killed Joel, goes from a cold, rational, revenge seeking woman to some who starts to emphasize with people who are supposed to be her enemies. Her story with Lev is one of my favourite parts, and really shows how she went from killing enemy kids to doing everything she can to protect 2 strangers.

    Ellie on the other hand goes from having it all, friends, a "father", a safe home and even a blossoming relationship to slowly descending into the madness of revenge, willing to give up her happiness and future in the pursuit of what she perceives as salvation. Whether people like it or not, that too is character development. In a way, they switched places over the course of the story. Did my alignment change as well? I can't say. All I can say though is that the last fight **** broke my heart, in the best way possible that a game could achieve. What else is there to say? I loved the story, the fighting is awesome (same concepts as the last one but adding in the option to play zombies and enemies against each other is amazing, the music really manages to capture the feel and the graphics, well, it's Naught Dog. Was I annoyed at the fact that I suddenly had to play as my enemy after the first act? Sure. But that didn't deter me from finishing the game, and I sure am glad I didn't.

    Overall I can say that this game tugged my heartstrings just like the first one did, and it greatly saddens me that people can't get over their own bigotry and enjoy the game for what it is. But if you're gonna be upset at women with big muscles, sure, skip this one. But if you do decide to play it, I promise it will be worth it.    … Expand

    So far, this is the best game ive ever had the lucky to play, it made me happy, sad, mad, it had everything, action, adventure, a history wich is pure art. Partiamo dal fatto che il il combattimento corpo a corpo è stato ampliato dando spazio alla schivata che permette al giocatore sia di assistere a duelli unici ma anche a catapultarsi interamente nell'azione. Sul lato grafico questo the Last of us part 2 è fenomenale grazie ad un livello di dettaglio pazzesco. Ed infine parliamo della trama. Una trama cheUna perla per il mondo videoludico. Partiamo dal fatto che il il combattimento corpo a corpo è stato ampliato dando spazio alla schivata che permette al giocatore sia di assistere a duelli unici ma anche a catapultarsi interamente nell'azione.
