    A colossal disappointment of unimaginative story telling that attempts to explore the consequences of anger/revenge at the kindergarten intellectual level while using x-rated violence and gore. I’ve honestly never been more insulted by the in game narrative choices made on my behalf. There are humans on this planet that behave like the characters in this game.

    There is no question that this game is a masterpiece, everything is top-notch. I believe all the haters are just obsessed fan boys or they didn't even play the game at all.

    Very disappointed and ridiculous story. Fan been waiting for years of a new The Last of Us to play with Joel and Ellie. Who the hell want to play Abbie in the first, she might be okay villain to kill in the game but not as playable characters. Joel death was rush and leave bad taste for fans of this series. Not gonna lie the game look very beautiful but story wide it suck.

    The narrative is awful, the story is really incongruent and full of flaws, they just destroyed the game to forcing the stupid politics into it, well done, never again I’ll buy a game of this company    … Expand

    I was very disappointed with what Naughty Dog brought to the table. This is not a hat trick game. You brought two out of three elements to make a great game. Gameplay 8. Graphics top notch 9 or 10. But your story line is poop and your plot fell out all over the place. I have literally scene fighting games with a better plot story

Not in a "I wanted something different," kind of way, but in a "I wanted something remotely competent," kind of way. It's really, truly, staggeringly, heartbreakingly, bad writing. I'm not a bigot and I recognize that a lot of bigots are hating on this game for the wrong reasons, but there are very goodI can confirm that the gameplay rocks but not nearly as much as the writing sucks. Ugh, Half of the game is played for an uninteresting character, to which the player is not attached at all. The whole storyline is merged, reminiscent of star wars, where the character’s only goal is revenge, in this case also unsuccessful one. People play such games because of the plot, and not because of the excellent graphics or gameplay, the rating is appropriate.

    Половина игры проходится за неинтересного персонажа, к которому игрок никак не привязан. Вся сюжетная линия слита, напоминает звездных войн, где единственная цель персонажа - месть, в данном случае еще и неудачная.

    The first game is awesome, I have only played it at a friends for a couple of hours and watched online videos of it and I immediately liked it. The Last of Us Part II is a bold, risk taking narrative, more than most of the narratives I have experienced in games, movies, or otherwise. I blame this facet of the game for the split opinions. I see many reviews claiming that if you loved the story of the original game than you will hate this one, and I can only understand that to an extent. I view the story of The Last of Us Part II as a cutting, poignant, heartbreaking, brilliant, complex, and moving continuation of the ideas introduced within the first game. I adore narrative, probably to obnoxious degree, and is something I prioritize heavily within the media and art that I consume. Factor in recency bias, of course, but as of now, this may be one of my favorite narratives that I have ever experienced. Again, I cannot promise that you will love this game like I did, or even like it, but if you are a fan of the original, or just narrative-driven games as a whole, I implore you to not let the user reviews dissuade from trying this game.     If I wanted to move ladders and throw bricks, I'd get into construction. This is definitely another attempt to get players to cope with certain social aspects that are just not relevant to games, sony or the 21th century.

    Would definitely not play it again.

    I refused to believe everything in the leaks and decided to play for myself. However, I was left pissed off by the direction of the story, the agenda-pushing and SJW BS Neil Druckmann thought was the right thing to do. Everything felt just so unnecessary, ultra-violence portrayed felt unneeded and overdramatic. Major characters lack depth and development throughout and at best they often act out of character and at worst they are shallow and boring.

    The gameplay is pretty much the same as the first game with very minor tweaks and the only redeeming qualities have been ruined by Neil Druckman and the involvement of Anita Sarkeesian. TLOU2 do not deserve your money. Naughty Dog do not deserve your money.

    The story of Ellie and Joel already concluded in the first game so why don't you buy Ghost of Tsushima instead?    … Expand

They had 7 years for this and couldnt have done a worse job. Dont buy the game, watch someones playthrough and be happy you didnt spend money on it. Season 8 Game of Thrones all over again.

    the whole game is not bad but just compare it with rdr2 2018! horse walking animations, and snow effect is not very good! graphically it's not the best game ever! absolutely! AI is a little dumb and enemy doesn't see you often! story is not perfect.

    The game is the literal "Guys revenge is bad for u" book.
    Its honestly hard to beleive that the same company which made Uncharted 4 and TLOU can ruin their own stuff this **** bad. Uncharted 4 was without a doubt the most detailed game at least i have ever seen. The last of us is the only game till now which wasnt as story oriented like Detroit Become human or heavy rain but still made u dive deep into the characters.

    Now let me ask u Naughty Dog.. Joel was the same guy who killed doezens of skilled Fireflies and saved Ellie.     It is a very overrated game, if it is obvious that the graphics and other visual aspects have improved but all this is overshadowed by history and it is what made me criticize this game, the characters were changed for the worse and in my opinion they were ruined.

It’s a slap to the characters Joel and Ellie and all to us fans for liking the 1st game like seriously... you couldn’t tell a somewhat believable revenge story.... it’s a revenge story without the revenge...imagine if kratos let’s zues go after killing dozens of gods or John wick lets go the dog killer after killing all his henchmen due to having a flashback lol... if that the case that flashback should have made Ellie more violent and help her finish the job...and then after realise it was for nothing and revenge was a total waste of time because now she has lost everything pursuing it... letting Abby live doesn’t end the cycle... what about tons of random people Ellie hunted and killed... wouldn’t their family members go after Ellie now so why letting Abby live ends the cycle?... Joel went from being a complete hardass and not trusting anyone in the first game to giving personal name and hideout locations to random strangers while being outnumbered lol... it’s a complete mess... the gameplay is linear apart from one section... no new interested infected... sometimes you even forget that it’s a zombie game,,,.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m sorry, what?! Am I even playing the same game?! How has this gotten such glowing reviews from so many gaming outlets? I’m going to go into why this makes no sense:

    First, this is coming from a place of someone who has the original game in my top three best of all time. I came into this from a place very forgiving of mistakes because I wanted so bad to see more of this world. What I got instead is such a dumpster fire of plot holes and bad writing that I cannot get past that.

    They basically took the best parts of the first and these characters we loved and mashed them into the ground (yes intentional wording). For the sake of being edgy and trying to subvert expectations. The other thing is maddening is how hard they try virtue signaling. I am all about more representation in video games, but this is so hamfisted it goes to only serves to make the lgbtq community look worse in my opinion.

    What this plays out to be is a long winded, poorly written, angsty revenge plot with semi-servicable gameplay. Also are we seriously going to end the game with a QuickTime event? Don’t even get me started on how horrid the ending is and how hypocritical and against the character’s ingrained themes and motives it was on a writing level, but seriously?

    The only reason I gave this at least a 2 is because the gameplay is serviceable ( it doesn’t really do much different from the original game) and because the world crafting and art design is extremely masterfully done. This is easily one of the most gorgeous games to look at I have ever played.

    In conclusion, I feel extremely sorry for those who worked on this game to have people come in and completely tarnish what they poured their hearts and souls into the art assets and set pieces with horrible writing. Sony, you would be wise to do some cleaning out of naughty dog in its current iteration or I do not see things going well in the future. Joel now is a monster who killed an innocent man (how many brains did your daddy cut off before Ellie's, huh Abby? But of course it was in a name of the mankind so doesn't count). And Ellie is a psycho who cuts out crowds of people (according to the ending - with no reason aka just because).
    Do u really think i would be happy to spend 10 hrs of playing character that have killed Joel in such a disgusting and cruel way. Really? Who in the world could think it's a good idea? Ellie killed like 1k of ppl and in the end realised that revenge it's BAD and leads to nowhere. Wooow. Very long and boring game. Esp. second part. It was a torture for me. The ending is sooooooo bad and bleak it literally spits on all the hours you spent in the game and as the credits roll you have a big 'F you thats why' feeling. The developers clearly aimed to make you think and say to yourself 'maybe i should not go on' and this is exaclty what you need to do. Instead of paying the game and regretting as i did and going through the end just to regret more, don't buy it. Buy Doom Eternal, buy RDR2 if you haven't, buy GoW, keep your money fpr Ghost of Tsushima, but if you decide to but this game non the less, then get ready to regret every penny you have wasted.… Expand

    Let's get back to that dog in a bit, but for now, let's sum up everything you need to know about this game without writing a book.

    Legit kill off your best friend. You know, like let's just have him/her/it/binary whatever die. That's solid.
    Let's make it sad, stupid sad, but make sure it has no point....no point at all, let's just focus on anger, not legitimate reason or emotion.
    Fast forward, omg...Robert De Niro is in this....wait is he? Nope, It's Nancy Pelosi in reverse drag.
    Turns out she's your dad.
    It's all good...go have some gay sex. it'll make it all better.

    Fast forward, oh it's over. Wait what was I fighting for? I can't remember...but it's solid..hella solid.
    Wait it's not over.
    Turns out in the end, Nancy is your real dad, she had a sex change, and secretly was the bad guy at the same time, but it's ok....because the loyal dog at the end comes and destroys her....but then eats you and destroys you...just like he destroyed our hopes and dreams.

    I know...there's a few plot holes, and maybe everything wasn't accurate or in line with the story of the first game, but if you really pay attention to my review, it all makes sense and the critics will agree... 10/10 would play again.

    Where's Nathan Drake? 9/10 didn't make sense, i thought he'd be in it by the end the way things were going.

    Killing a lead character in early start of the game in a way that is so cold and unneeded. You could just make his death a little more important than that, giving all the things he have been through.

    Is making a character like ABBY even her name is obnoxious!!! Body builder figure for a female character, for what reason? And to make her the killer of a main character added oil to the fire.

    I thought it fell so short. Gameplay was expansive but long, but the graphics were incredible. However, I loved the first game for the story and this story is just not good. I'm saddened by it and I'm sad to leave this review but it missed. Hoping that better things come out of this
