I'll be quick, I was excited to play this game and the skill trees and gameplay mixed with the brutal combat did bring some enjoyment to the game.. however the story completely destroys what the game could have been, none of the characters act the way they should and it seems like the creator wanted to make the game shocking just to be shocking. From Joel dying in the very of the beginning of the game in a way contrary to the way we all know he acts, to Ellie going on a long revenge hunt to not even get revenge and leaving the game feeling empty and full of holes. I wont ruin any more than that if you want to play it you should but lower your standards, I'd honestly wait for a sale… Expand

    An interesting second chapter to follow up what is one of my favorite games of all time. All of the characters were compelling and kept me interested, even as the story tool dark twist and turns.

By the end of the game, Joel has been tortured to death, Tommy has become crippled and divorced, and Ellie loses 2 fingers and everyone she ever loved. Whatever hope and optimism you had from the first game was ruthlessly trampled. It's a cruel and nihilistic game and not worth your time as a fan.

    Save yourself the trouble and money and just watch the flashback scenes on youtube. They're the only part of the game worth seeing

    Es el mejor juego que e jugado en mucho tiempo, creo que soy de las pocas personas que logro entender a la perfección el titulo y el por que de las cosas, soy una persona critica y debo admitir que este juego es un 10 de 10. si alguien tiene ps4 esta casi en la obligación de probar este titulo.

Other than that this game is terrible and here is why: It took me 21 hours to complete the game. It would have taken me longer if I had fully explored everything however, after awhile the gameplay became tedious and repetitive so I just ran through the story to get it over with. The gameplay itself hasn't changed much if at all compared to the first one but that isn't a major issue to me because I play for the story... And the story was terrible! No character development whatsoever, I felt nothing for most of the characters and the whole plot of 'revenge is bad but Abby can have revenge' is **** You telling me I can travel across the country killing stacks of people to find abby to decide at the end that revenge is bad? Honestly I wish I never played this game, it destroyed TLOU for me. There are many more things I despise about this game but honestly it hurts to talk about it. I waited 7 years for this? I wish I had seen the leaks so I didnt buy this crap.… Expand

    It was interesting to see multiple perspectives. I was happy to see more representation of marginalized groups in a very tasteful way. You really felt for all the characters.

I played first part because of story.Graphic and gameplay are not not such important for me.But in the second part not only story but gameplay is absent.Who could write it?So many plot holes..To say I'm disappointed means nothing to say.

Forces a relationship down your throat that is nothing more than a clingy one night stand, why should I care about this relationship when it starts from that and she only decides to join out of the blue on your revenge world tour. Best moments are with Joel, but you can save an entire game with a few small little moments. Pacing was terrible. Music forgetable. Abby's portion of the game, while a brave choice and understandable, last too long and was ultimately a pain to play through. Nothing more than a cashcow for the platform to end successfully on. Wasn't needed and is nothing more than a golf club to the franchise.… Expand

    I mean wtf is going on here? Lesb***s? Triangle love? WTF Naughty Dog. The last game was known for its character development and emotion, not for graphics or whatever. This game has too many time jumps and flashbacks. They completely messed up the whole story. I'm giving this 2 outta 10 for the hard work they've done so far.

    This game is incredible.. Even I will admit this wasnt the direction I was expecting or was prepared for going into the game, the first game has and always will have a special place in my heart because ive always considered it my favorite game of all time due to reasons that are intangible.. The relationship between joel and Ellie was the defining part of that experience, and of courseThis game is incredible.. Never has an experience game, movie, or book so effortlessly and effectively immersed you and grounded you in a way that truly makes you feel like you are taking an active part in actions that are both in and out of your control, and how that makes you feel as the story transpires is so unique. I really dont want to say much because as a fan I stayed away from ALL spoilers before experiencing it for myself, and if you can do that you will truly be blown away by the experience and adventure this game takes you on. The writing and performances are flawless, genuinely flawless and characters are incredibly and perfectly flawed.. It makes you think about characters, choices and their ramifications long after its over in a way that can only be experienced first hand.. If I had to pick one theme for this game both in and out, its perspective, which is powerful considering the hate this game has been getting for reasons I can't explain.. I'm not saying its perfect, and if you dont like it after properly playing and experiencing it for yourself, I can see how it wont be for everyone, it surely cant be..but to the people hating cuz of gender, plot they haven't experienced and homophobia, **** you! if you had a braincell in your peanut you'd come up with your own story and characters if you felt that strongly about it, piss stains.Thank you Neil and team.… Expand

    fantastic game, well done Naughty Dog. You guys come through at all times since the Uncharted series. Loved how you shook it up for a truely desirable story that does not follow traditional story telling for the weak minded people out there who bashed this game. Way to leave it open for a possible trilogy.

    Amazing gameplay with a ridiculous story and plot twists. Just one bad decision comes after another bad decision. This game tries to deliver its simple message so hard and uses such cheap ways to do it, that all the game suffers from it. It's not the worst game but definitely my biggest disappointment of the decade, and of my whole life maybe...

Abby literally gets a better ending than everyone else. She killed Joel and Jesse, she shot tommy and caused him to lose an eye, She beat Dina almost to death and was gonna kill her even when Ellie told her Dina was pregnant, she bites her fingers off and Ellie somehow still makes the decision to let her go like wtf? Plus Dina left Ellie so now she is alone. This game **** sucks............................................................................

    Neil Druckman cameo, lol, was hilarious, as brutally ugly monster abby. In trailers she is miss universe compared to her in game.

However I would NOT recommend this game and ND should feel ashamed for their false advertisement.

    I didn't even played the first game of the franchise but i understand how it feels to get attached to some characters, and after all these unnecessary new characters from the part 2 being added made me quite uncomfortable continuing the game, they force you to play a character you would most likely hate from the beginning of the game, and a lot too.. In all my years of playing video games i honestly can’t remember a more boring and unexiteing way a company decides to kill a character off, and not just any character the main character and arguably one of the best characters in video game history. I could have thought of 10 more better ways to kill joel off. And then on top of that the campaign is boring and is missing elements that make you want to keep playing. I feel like i was robbed of $60 for not only a boring story but a short boring 30 hour story. I gave it a 2 because atleast the graphics look good but the story was awful and the gameplay was meh. I’m very sad that they ruined what easily could’ve been game of the year and could have been a all time great video game series… Expand

    However, I cannot get over nor will I get over how BAD the storyline is.

    I loved these characters and Last Of Us 1 is my favorite game of all time and I am OK with Joel dying in part 2, but the death was NOT earned at all. There is no way possible Joel's or Tommy's character would have given up information like that to COMPLETE strangers they just met nor would a character like Abby just flip out like that after being saved from Joel. Just bad all around writing from a company that is known for great writing.

    This was not the game we wanted which is fine, but for god sakes it could have had at least interesting writing. Part 2 LACKS on every level the human aspect which made part 1 so good.

    The whole game feels forced, not sure what they were thinking when they decided to release this game but it sucks. It feels like Naughty Dog just said F**k you to their entire fanbase.

    Also, how this game was marketed was misleading as well.

    I am done with the Last of Us and not looking forward to the HBO show and I am done with Naughty Dog games in general.

The post-apocalyptic world of last of us part 2 is hardly present, apart from a few infected with this! the infected are no longer the main threat as in 1! etc... there are so many flaws in this part 2, and wanting to tell another story in this episode and well, its ended upStupid story! Mainstream critics are like the government, you can't trust them, its up to the people to see the truth for what it is, decide for themselves and not forget all the propaganda that came before it. I have loved ND games, but this one falls way short of the magic that studio should be capable of, even expected of. TLU could be a series game that follows the value of Ellie's immunity and the complexity of her Joel's relationship while being hunted by those who want Ellie, and those who just want to do harm. Evolve the clickers, try to make a home in the world. Have some decision making moments like RDR2. Give a more powerful story with substance, make deaths meaningful. No one is mad at this game because of homophobia, that's just propaganda by mainstream critics to pander to the feet of Sony and ND. No, users are mad because regardless of the fate of the characters, there was no point to the story, no power. When the game ends you're glad, disappointed and kind of just feel robbed of the magic of the 1st game. Are some reviews bombing sure, but guess what? The story and gameplay compared to the brilliant part 1 are really bad. If you played the first one you probably love Joel and Ellie. The relationship between the two was slowly build up in the first one. Then came part 2... Joel gets brutally murdered and from that point the game was ruined for me. They expect us to sympathise with Abby the woman that killed to beloved Joel. I can't do this. I don't care for her or what happened in her past. The revenge plot is similar to that of a B movie. But then halfway through the game you have to play as Abby to try and like her. This is were I really didn't care about the game. I stopped searching for collectibles and overall exploration for me wasn't worth it anymore. The ending left a sour taste in my mouth because Ellie lost everything in this game and Abby got to walk away. They went with this approach and they failed misserably Joel and Ellie will forever be the true heroes in the last of us no one else. For me they butchered the last of us and I will try to forget that this game exists. I would happily another 60 euro's to play a better part 2 but I know that this will never happen. They should have made a game instead of making it a politically correct message. That you play as a lesbian wasnt the issue because I don't care what your sexual preference is.     It is a really bad, disgusting, dark storyline. I have been waiting for this game for 6 years already, and just waiting for this kind of plot? I can not accept it. I strongly suggest Naughty dog to change the story plot like selective storyline. People can choose whatever they like, and I believe that most of big fans in this game tend to a happy ending~~~~~~~~~~

    Story.: I enjoyed the story for the most part.     Story.: I enjoyed the story for the most part. I didn't like some of the secondary characters either. The longer I played however the more I liked the Abby story. I absolutely loved the showdown with Ellie during the last parts of the game. As a whole I felt really engaged through the whole Ellie campaign and I would say 2/3 parts of the Abby story.

    Graphics / Sound / Atmosphere.: Simply put, the graphics are one of the best the ps4 can offer, probably the best. The Sound is also great. You can choose between many different options (theater, surround, stereo, headphones). You can even choose the virtual place / angle of your speakers. In general the game has a lot to offer in terms of configurability. There are even several options for handycapped users. The game has a really bleak / dark atmosphere, combined with great sound and graphics that I enjoyed quite a lot.

    Gameplay.: I can't say that often enough but you should really play the game on the highest or at least on hard difficulty, no matter what. This makes the game truly special. You will need to scout trough the levels as much as possible due to resources being scarce. Due to this and the smart enemy AI every enemy encounter will be nerve wracking. You will also have more reason to sneak around and use bomb traps for example. Depending on the difficulty I would give the game a higher or lower score, it really has a big impact on the gameplay. Just one more negative point, the companion AI is absolute garbage. Literally got me killed several times (blocked my way, didn't help at all).

    Conclusion.: I enjoyed ellies / abbys revenge trip as a whole. The story was dark, brutal and captivating. Some parts could have been executed with more nuance (joel/abby scene, several scenes within first few hours of the abby story) but overall and in addition to the fun gameplay and tight atmosphere it was a great journey.

    I finished TLOU 1 twice and loved it. Now i just finished TLOU2 and i think it's a very worthy successor and doesn't deserve the zero's. Most of the critisism is because of 'that one narrative choice' and the amount of SJW stuff in the game. They put a lot of effort in the game and it is one hell of a ride. While not a masterpiece maybe, it's definately not far from it. Going to finish itI finished TLOU 1 twice and loved it.     And for full disclosure i watched the game being played online (entire playthroughs are easily available now), i didn't play it personally, and i wouldn't even if offered to me for free, and instead of going into spoilers i'll discuss the dichotomy between the critics scores and the user scores, the game critics gave it 10/10 and gushed about it being best game of the year/generation/all time because they are shilling and protecting their privileges and exclusive media access to future Sony and Naughty Dog games, and gamers gave it 3/10 because they are angry and frustrated for several reasons.

    Not just because how the game play barley evolved in long 7 years, or because of the terrible story, lazy writing and demeaning sadistic treatment of the original characters, the nonsensical plot points and the meaningless ending, but also because of how the creators of the game (specifically Neil) are blatantly trying to push an progressive agenda (by Neil's admission and his creepy infatuation with Anita and her poorly researched and misleading anti-gamer series Feminist Frequency), and also because of the terrible crunch culture in Naughty Dog that made 70% of the team leave before game is done, many employees who left spoke of it, how it made some require hospitalization, and how it's so bad and pervasive that they couldn't find any veteran animators/CGI artists to work for them and had to recruit interns from the movie industry to work for them, finally people are pissed because of the false and illegal DMCAs filed by the shady shell company MUSO TNT Ltd that Sony and Naughty Dog used to strike and silence any YT channel discussing the leaks even if they didn't use any screenshots or videos leaked from the game, it was disgusting and very shady behavior.

    To top that, Neil's blatant progressive agenda and his enforcement of terrible crunch culture are probably the reasons Amy Hennig left too (she openly opposed the woke progressive narrative that women are discriminated against in gaming industry, and said she never once felt discriminated against because of being a woman).

    And the claim the review bombing is just because gamers are a bunch of bigots and hate gay/trans representation is nonsense, yeah people do meme and joke about it but it's not the real reason people are angry or review bombing the game, the expansion of The Last of Us called Left Behind had Ellie's lesbian kiss and her coming out as a lesbian and its user score is 8.2 and the Life is Strange game hinted a lot at two lesbian relations between the characters (Rachel X Chloe, and depending on player choices Max X Chloe) is rated 8.6 ... people have no problem with that if it's done right and the story and characters aren't sacrificed for it, but in TLoU2 it's not done right, it's done only so the writers and Neil can feel good about themselves and be congratulated for how stunning and brave they are by the woke activists and "influencers" on Twitter.

    My final verdict ... SKIP IT, save your money for something better.    … Expand

    Don't get me wrong it is pretty and somewhat well designed but for a AAA title, not so much. This is where the good kinda ends. The story is badly written and poorly executed in my opinion. And i'm not even talking about the current views and spoilers doing the rounds. Just the Established characters are off. Things are very filler oriented, character empathy is forced and strained.

    Controls in the first game were almost the same but smoother. The upgrade paths are linear and very 'static' in TLOU2.

    It is such a polarising game, some people wont care and 'fan boy/girl' and say it's amazing, but seriously, the standard is slipping.

    2/10 graphics do not a 10/10 alone, game play and story matter too.    … Expand

Don't need to justify anything, if you have a clear sence of admiration towards in every way classfully produced game you will like it. P.s.
