    This is the best story and twist in PS4 history. Such good writing from Naughty Dog, and fantastic gameplay. Well worth the years we’ve waited.

    I am not gonna sit here and talk about graphics and gameplay because that's not what TLOU has ever really been about. It's about really taking you to the limit emotionally, it makes you feel the characters Hate, anger, pain, depression as well as reasoning for each and all actions...
    I found myself in tears often in the game and in absolute aw at how this all was unfolding. Yes you play as the person who kills Joel and why?.... because Naughty Dogg builds this hate inside you at a level that you despise Abby and you want nothing more than to see her suffer... And then you play through her story and form a bond with her and the characters in her life...you form sympathy towards her and see the pain Joel caused when he murdered her father...and you realise the love you have for these characters, Joel and Ellie Stems purely from the fact that you share the same perspective as those characters( from the first game) and you forget that it's that exact perspective that blinds you from the ripple effects and consequences of their choices and actions...so when you play as Abby and realise Abbys perspective...it changes everything in the way you think and feel about all these characters and their stories... To Ellie Abby is the monster who took Joel away from her, To Joel the monsters are the people who tried to take Ellie away from him and to Abby Joel is the monster who took her father from her... That's excluding all the other character development in the game(each side losing more loved ones to this dark path) basically in my opinion what Naughty Dogg achieved here is to create a story and narrative so immersed and visceral that it completely goes over alot of people's heads...years from now, Mark my words this game will be hailed as one of the greatest ever made    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Dissapointment all the way. Everything you love about the first game, gets thrown out the window. The graphic in the game was beautiful and the gameplay feels the same as the first game which is good. I feel the tense when encountering humans or clickers. Sound design was amazing, love the atmosphere. These elements of the game, i enjoyed.

    However, the big problem i had with this game is the narrative. It is force. It is disconnected. It is just a frustrating journey overall. In one of the early trailers that ND released, it made us think that Joel was going to accompany Ellie, but that was not the case in the final game. It is replaced with Jessie. That is just misleading.

    I did not look at the early leaks, so I am going into this game not knowing what to expect. But, at some point before starting the game, I was preparing for the worst for what if Joel died. And that moment arrived, I did not expect it to be that early in the game. Abby killed Joel. I feel like Joel's character got dumb down, as oppose to the first game. It just doesn't make sense how him and Tommy just calmly trust Abby and her group. Sure, I get it, the whole theme of this game is hate and Joel particularly is not a good guy either. In the last of us world, there is no good people, everyone is scummy. But this is like a spit on the face and disrepectful towards the character whom you spent the most in the first game.

    So, after Joel's death, you play as Ellie. You want revenge on Abby. So, you went on this journey searching for Abby and killing of her friends along the way. But you never got to meet her as Ellie. Instead, Abby's the one who came and found Ellie in the theatre and killed Jessie and Tommy was helpless and just right when the scene was about to end, the climatic moment. It cuts off.

    Then, the game wants to introduce you to Abby, the girl whom you hated so much and want revenge on. The game wants you to get to know her side of the story in the last of us world. It was just frustrating playing as the character where the game makes you hate her in beginning and her story just keeps on dragging for a long and ardous experience. I got bored of it and it made me wanting to power through the game just to get to that climactic moment, which i did. After all that, I still did not care for Abby character. The two scars character, did not care at all.

    The second half of the game (Abby) was just excruciating to play. It is not fun at all. I just want to finish the story so badly and it keeps on dragging. The tons and tons of flashbacks storytelling are just horrible. It ruins the flow of the story. The ending of the game, you did not get what you wanted. You were left with this empty void. Abby wins, Ellie lose everything in the end, even her two fingers. The character who you rooting for from the first game and waited for 7 years, loses everything. I guess, this part 2 is the downfall of Ellie in this story. It is paving its way for a possible part 3 where Ellie will rise again, maybe.

    Overall, the tense gameplay carried the game i would say. I did not like the flow of this game. A painful and disjointed storytelling. The layers on layers of flashbacks are just fillers of time wasting. This game is a rollercoaster where the people plummets to their deaths at the end of the ride. It's not a fun game and ND achieved that.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is so disconnected from the first game. There's literally 0 consistency in character writing, plots. The whole game is just a different short stories patched together that didn't need to be told. This game was honestly a waste of everybody's time. Also the environment and level design is subpar compared to the first game.

    If you just want to cringe the whole time, then don’t waste your money on this game. Not impressed with it at all, stopped playing and didn’t even bother finishing it.

    I loved the game, it wasn't what I was expecting and maybe at first I wasn't sold on the concept, but oh wow. By the time it ended my feelings were all over the place. Narratively speaking, it's f***ing brilliant, I'm honestly in awe. And the amount of details in the game? Woah, it's crazy how well thought everything is. Kudos to Naughty Dog and the team behind this game!

This game is freaking amazing and the story is really damn good. Its deep and got a lot of unexpected twists. Just loved the feeling of the game and how they made it even darker than in the 1st game, though the 1st was heavy as hell. Seems to me to be more likely that you guys giving this game a 0 are also the same persons giving fortnite a 11...… Expand

    I have never, ever seen such a masterpiece. This is watching and playing a movie at the same time.
    But i don't like the quick time events, but there always the same button, so its okay. the graphics are amazing, the character are great, the gameplay is very nice, love it. It has no open world, but the gameplay reminds me a bit about metal gear solid 1. I like this game,    NO SPOILER...

    The more you progress, the more stuff/weapons you will get. it will not getting boring.
    It is a shame if people rate this game low, because the developer put so much details in the game, you can't see in most blockbuster games. But everyone has their opinions.

    Compelled to create an account to review this game.

    This is obviously the Last Jedi of video games. Some people hated it because it didn't tell the story they wanted. Some people hated it for having characters that are "other". Some people very obviously trashed it without even playing it. I'd bet money that in ten years this is as highly regarded as the first game.

    Eines der besten Spiele aller Zeiten, wie die Entwickler mit den Gefühlen spielen gelingt nur ganz wenigen. Und ein Spiel nur schlecht zu bewerten weil einem die Entscheidungen im Spiel nicht gefallen dem sei gesagt das sowas in allen Medien auftaucht, Filme Bücher videospiele.

A revenge story has never been so well illuminated from multiple perspectives. The game takes all video games to a new level. It is grown up and brave. Please make your own opinion.

Ya durante el primer juego vemos un cambio significativo en él. Es un juego muy maduro que te intenta enseñar las dos caras de una moneda. Nadie es 100% malo o bueno, la gente la caga, crece, cambia, evoluciona. Tenemos a personajes redondos y una historia muy buena entre manos. Personalmente la historia de Abby me encanto, empecé el juego odiando-la pero acabe simpatizando con ella. Al fin y al cabo Ellie y Joel, le hicieron lo mismo o peor. La gente tendría que aceptar una muerte y muertes realistas como nos da este juego. También a respetar la orientación sexual de los personajes o haber prestado mas atención al material adicional del primer TLOU, donde ya se veía que Ellie era claramente lesbiana o bisexual. Esto no es un Uncharted o un Jack and Daxter. Este juego es mucho mas adulto y profundo. Al pasártelo no te deja igual y durante la historia te crea toda clase de sentimientos. Con un final muy acertado y maduro. Demostrando que Ellie a madurado y Abby también. Creo que es algo que le haría falta a mas de un critico de este juego y aceptar que en la vida las cosas muchas veces no salen como uno quiere. A parte que mucha gente tendría que reconocerse a si mismo lo homofobos que son.… Expand

    Un gioco che sa prenderti a schiaffi in faccia. Un gioco che ti emoziona. Un gioco che fa male. Un gioco che o lo ami o lo odi, ma se lo odi non sei oggettivo con il lavoro incredibile che ci è stato fatto sopra. Narrazione incredibile, musica incredibile, animazioni perfette. Non è da 10 per alcuni piccoli dettagli ma in assoluto uno dei migliori giochi degli ultimi 10 anni.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm just writing this, because of all the negative feedback the game received from the players. I didn't read any reviews, because tbh I didn't care what critics would say. After playing part one I knew I wanted to play the game.
    Not to get spoiled or to get influenced I waited until I finished the game to check the bad reviews. Which I did.
    Regarding the violence: How can you be so angry regarding the violence in this game? Have you guys seen how people can go nuts, because of toilet paper?! This is a world where death is around every corner, constantly. In my opinion people would be way worse than shown in this game. Of course, it's violent, but I think it's realistic. Very realistic. I just can't get my head around how crazy people went for toilet paper when all the Corona stuff started.
    Story/Characters: After the first shot on Joel I thought, that wound can't heal, his leg will never be fine. But then, they killed Joel. They f* killed Joel, that character that I played through the first part, that was ME. And they let Ellie watch. F* you Naughty Dog. And then I fought with Ellie through all the bastards to get my revenge. And then, then Naughty Dog wants me to play Abby? Hell no. When the Abby part started I started rushing through, so I get to the point where I'm Ellie again, until I realized that it's a bigger part, so I started to play "normally" as I would with Ellie. And I started to connect to Abby. I hated that stupid man woman! I hated her so much, but yeah I connected, i started liking her. Yes, that b* killed Joel, she must die. But she grew on me. She had character, emotions, helped people. She was a good person, who killed one of the best characters I ever played. BUT Joel killed her dad. Of course, it was not okay to kill a child, even if you could create a cure. Idk, maybe some of you would have killed a kid for a cure. I guess that is not the point. I understand Joel, of course he saved "his" girl. Who wouldn't act like that. BUT Joel killed Abby's dad, who wouldn't revenge your fathers death? I bet it wouldn't matter to you what he was about to do, but nobody can "just" kill anyone from your family, right?! But that is the point of the game, that's what Naughty Dog did so good. "The others" aren't simply the "bad guys". It's so easy when it's like that. You're good, the others are bad. That's why it was such an emotional game. That's why I'm so torn apart. I hate this game so much (in a good way!). At the end I was not happy at all. I'm thinking so much about Abby and Ellie. Both didn't get a happy end, but at least both can live, and at least that's the good thing I got from the game. This is no "happy end" game. This is a f* "real life" game!    … Expand

    This game is a true masterpiece. There are several things that i dislike in the game but Naughty Dog makes you see the worth of these choices and ultimately the game would fail without them. It turns my dislikes into likes because i see what they were doing and it worked. Most notably for me is the length of the game. This is a loooong game.     Excellent gameplay and graphic, story is a little confusing at the beginning, but it's understandable when played, excellent character development, and playing as 2 characters and learning about them is not something you see everyday. Excellent game no doubt.

    The graphics are great
    -The gameplay is better than the original.
    -Music amazing
    -sound good

    Negatives
    -Bad story
    -forgettable characters
    -bad and even cringy dialogue
    -pacing is confusing and messy
    -characters are bad and even annoying/hated
    -ending is bad
    -game is too long with a run time of 20+ hours
    -long boring sections of the game
    -lack of character development
    - old characters from the original are completely different and not much time is used to explain the change in these characters
    - the game makes Joel an idiot in order to kick off the story. This is a man who has been able to detect ambushes before. Someone who you have to earn his trust but this game just has his get ambushed and trust complete strangers. Joel has been surviving in this Apocolypse for 25+ years and this is how he dies SILLY.

    That's my opinion and yes I have played the game and it's still Sh*t    … Expand

    Story: a predictable tale of revenge. Ellies character is ruined and Joels killer is given half the game. Theres is no connection to either Abby or Ellies choices. The second half of the game is ultimitaly about fighting transphobes... it's cringe indusing.

    Half the game is all about making Abby a likable person, but why? Revenge is bad, we get it! What about the hundreds of men and women that are killed during the rest of the game? What about their families and friends? Are they gonna get revenge too? The plot is paper thin.

    The first game was all about "show don't tell", but this game has flashbacks after frickin flashbacks, because the plot isn't effective enough on it's own. None of the Joel and Ellie cutscenes made me emotional, and I ended up hating all of the main characters by the end.

    Gameplay: great. Gets repetetive thou, and more than half the game is cutscenes or walking. 5/10    … Expand

    La narrativa muy mala.
    Creo que se equivocaron al volver a meter a Ellie y Joel, en vez de hacer un juego nuevo con una historia con otros personajes en otra parte de eeuu o haber contado solo la historia de Abby.

    The Last of Us Part II is something that truly did not need to be made. It certainly is not the worst game ever, but too many times I felt myself asking, "why was this made? Just to be edgy?" Yeah the social commentary stuff is a bit too pushed in your face at times, but the real problem to me with the game is that it is clearly trying too hard. Adding more blood and guts to a game doesn'tThe Last of Us Part II is something that truly did not need to be made. It certainly is not the worst game ever, but too many times I felt myself asking, "why was this made? Just to be edgy?" Yeah the social commentary stuff is a bit too pushed in your face at times, but the real problem to me with the game is that it is clearly trying too hard. Adding more blood and guts to a game doesn't make it more shocking because most gamers are fairly desensitised to that today and I'm all for female protagonists, but Naughty Dog really ruined Ellie and in regards to Abby she is downright just not fun or engaging. Also Naughty Dog's game design is really starting to stretch thin such as, "oh the camera is now slowly and forcefully panning behind me suddenly I wonder if I'm going to be smacked in the face from an enemy from just outside this narrow corridor!" Plus, my god this company needs to decide if it wants to make a movie or a video game by this point. Even in the Uncharted series they do try so hard to keep you immersed in these cinematic elements only for the player to misstep once or hit a dodge button (the dodge button is an absolute joke in this game, its timing window is REALLY strange) and BAM instant death... I mean sure that's fine once or twice, but after you do it four or five times you are LITERALLY pulled out of the cinematic action and are now jaded to the rest of the scene setup... My score of 4 out of 10 solely goes to the graphics, which are INCREDIBLE. Too many times I thought I was actually watching live actors.… Expand

    Que buen juego, muy bien hecho, con una historia difícil de digerir, pero muy buena, un gameplay maravilloso, un desarrollo de personajes muy bien logrado, aunque no haya logrado empatizar por todo, se logra a entender el por qué de sus acciones

    Just considering the graphics, gameplay, soundtrack and motion capture this game is no way getting less than 8/10.

    About the story.. What did you expect? That Joel would have continued to live like nothing had happened in Salt Lake? One day or another someone would had shown up seeking for revenge. “But Joel was too skilled and smart, he would have trusted Abby!1!” She is the age on Ellie and he saved her ass from being eaten by the infects, in the middle of a blizzard. Falling in an ambush was the last of his thoughts. Then he realized. It was too late. He knew that the moment had finally come. Do you think that I enjoyed this choice? Of course not, goddammit! It broke my heart. But his death had a sense in the context of the story. It wasn’t random like getting bitten by a clicker of slipping and falling from a cliff. The way he was killed... Only a sadist would have done something like that. Or someone who has been waiting for that moment for a long time. You live the scene with the eyes of Ellie, feel her emotions, feel the need of revenge flowing in your veins.

    The game goes on and Ellie finds Nora. She’s trapped in an angle, unable to fight, unable to betray her friend. And our protagonist murders her. Was it necessary? What was going on in Ellie’s mind? She’s shocked, her hands shaking. That didn’t make her feel better.

    The cycle continues and she gets to Owen and Mel. I don’t think that in this case Ellie would have killed them but Owen tries to counter attack (I mean, he had a gun pointed at him, that’s reasonable) and in self defense she kills them both. Mel was pregnant though. That was really **** up, the image of Dina bumps in front of Ellie’s eyes. She’s getting nauseous, unable to recognize herself no more. What goes around, comes around and Abby finds her way to the theatre. Boom, Jesse is gone, Tommy is about to make his brother’s end and you as the player are leaning toward the screen with the heart stomping in your chest. All the tension that had built up in the last hours is getting to the apex.

    And then Mr. Druckmann press the rewind button. You are now playing as Abby. What?! I’m not going to play in the role of my main enemy! First thing first I’ll make her die a lot of times. The story continues, you discover that she was the daughter of the surgeon that years before was about to operate Ellie, before getting killed by Joel. You understand her feelings, her strengths and fears. You follow the path of blood that Ellie made, this time from a different position. All leads to the sequence in the theatre. This time YOU are the one pointing a gun to Ellie. I found it difficult to hit her, at that point I just wanted the cycle of violence to stop. Abby is physically superior but for the second time (the first was in the mountain shelter) she lets Ellie go.

    This time Mr. Druckmann hits the fast forward button and we are in an idyllic scenery. Dina, Ellie and the little JJ are living in peace, apparently far away from the atrocities of this dystopian future. But the shadow of the past is always present and gets more present with the visit of Tommy. Something inside Ellie is broken. She’s unable to remove the image of Joel from his mind. She leaves again, decided to end the story. It’s no more a matter of hatred or revenge, it is pure desperation what moves her.

    We finally find Abby, almost unrecognizable. Just for a moment Ellie’s shield is lowered and compassion hits her. After all she went through how could she let her go? Pushing the feels away we are introduced to the final, desperate, fight for life. Ellie is seconds away from drowning Abby and finish it all, as the sight of Lev triggers her memory of Joel. Abby was the only thing remaining to Lev. How could she kill her?

    And finally the key of all the story is revealed. A flashback from the night before Joel’s death. Everything become so clear. Ellie never went over his decision of saving her but she promises that she would have tried to forgive him. This is a story about FORGIVENESS, not a story about REVENGE! Ellie was mad because Abby prevented her to forgive Joel.

    Ellie lost everything. She has lost Dina, Tommy, and living in Jackson. Even being able to play the guitar, the only thing remaining from Joel. She’s empty, and emptiness is what you should feel as the credits are rolling. It took me several days to metabolize the complexity of the story, to understand what was moving each character. There’s no hero in this story, nor villain. There are human beings who make errors just like the real world. I dare you to find another videogame that encompasses these concepts and makes you feel like The Last of Us Part II does. Hats off to Neil and all the ND team, Ashley, Troy, Laura, Gustavo, everyone of them. You made something aere perennius.    … Expand

    Technically talking about this game is near to perfection, great and enjoyable gameplay, excellent artistic choice and amazing music. I took my sweet time and used 30+ hours to finish the game and digest all the details, info, emotions that this game brought to me so I can form my own opinion. And fortunately for me -- I really loveI first played the game without reading the spoilers/leaks, and I am playing it with an open mind accepting that it might sucks or so since I can see lots of hate on the game/ ND at first. I took my sweet time and used 30+ hours to finish the game and digest all the details, info, emotions that this game brought to me so I can form my own opinion. And fortunately for me -- I really love the game as much as the first one. It's painfully beautiful, realistic and "human". ND puts in lots of small details throughout the game to explain many things that happened, that's why you have to play it for yourself and do your best to look past the surface and connect the dots. But I can also understand why some people dislike the game. It's like "Joker" movie (not the best comparison but yea..) -- some people love it some hate it some think it's overrated some thinks it's way too detached from original franchise & wouldn't it be better if they make it as brand new standalone piece etc etc etc. No matter what, TLOU2 is a game that has a great impact in the gaming community and it's here to stay.… Expand

    Bueno ya se había anticipado un poco el tipo de narrativa que iba a tener TLOU, yo ya me esperaba su muerte porque era necesaria como la lanza de venganza de Ellie, lo que siento que fue un descuido fue la narrativa, el como lo matan y la situación, porque el tipo no confía ni en su sombra y de repente dice si vamos con tus amigos a la cabaña, pero el mundo que presenta es hostil así queBueno ya se había anticipado un poco el tipo de narrativa que iba a tener TLOU, yo ya me esperaba su muerte porque era necesaria como la lanza de venganza de Ellie, lo que siento que fue un descuido fue la narrativa, el como lo matan y la situación, porque el tipo no confía ni en su sombra y de repente dice si vamos con tus amigos a la cabaña, pero el mundo que presenta es hostil así que igual necesitaba morir como un perro para sacarte ese coraje y venganza, y la historia de abby la hubiese puesto quizá antes, para empatizar mejor, y no le hubiera dado tanto protagonismo a Abby, el viaje de Ellie siento que aveces si es como mas luna de miel y que el que iba dejando destrozos era Tommy, quizás a usarlo a él en el juego hubiera compensado la muerte de Joel, pero el punto de la narrativa es enseñar un mundo crudo pero con redención, por eso al final le da ese shock a ellie que aunque se vengue va estar vacía y sin nada, es el precio a pagar… Expand

    Took 1 week to finish the game, and i let it sink for a week before doing this. The game is a solid 8,5 but i gave it a 10 to equalize a bit the rating, as many of the first 0 ratings were given minutes/hours after the release, probably by people that hasnt played it. great game, nota better than the first one. a must play, but wait for it to have a 20/30usd price

    I played the game and loved it the whole way through, the graphics and gameplay are universally admired by all and for good reason too. The stealth is fun in a way that is hard to describe, it’s not rooted in realism, it takes a much more videogamey approach where you can just slaughter enemies to your heart’s content. The combat is always frantic, especially when up close when you have few resources and are fighting for your life. The graphics are spectacular. However they managed to squeeze this much beauty into a 7 year old console astounds me. The remastered on PS5 with ray tracing will probably be the benchmark for next gen graphics for a few years at least. It makes Red Dead 2 pale in comparison. The environments are beautiful and realistic, not just the basic cover filled hallways and open areas we see in most linear games. The game even branches out in places letting you explore areas of Seattle. But the story... you see, there’s one major character in the game who gets quite a lot of time, some people didn’t connect with this character, which entirely ruined the story for them(which I would completely understand) I was lucky enough to like the character and therefore the story. The game was always meant to be decisive and this meant that a lot of people felt let down by it. You can’t really tell if it’s for you or not without playing it yourself so don’t listen to the “SJW” fanboys or the “incel” haters! Thanks for making this game Naughty Dog :)    … Expand

    Amazing gamemechanics and graphics.
    A story which balances brutality, empathy and fear astonishingly well.

    And to anyone who feels the game pushes any "agenda" in your face, I couldn't disagree more. Everything feels natural and organic, and fits the world perfectly. Best game I have ever played.

I had been anxious about the second part of the last of us, and after the leak occured I stay away from any information related, cause I didnt wanted anyone ruining the experience. My expectation was high since the first game was a masterpiece, and just like uncharted I was expecting same as uncharted I was expecting more of the same formula with enhanced graphics, enemy AI, and a more expanded world to explore. That would be enough for me to love the game if the characters we loved had some missions to accomplish, and try to form a bond between joel and ellie like father, daughter. But no they had to do the fans wrong. They killed our favorite character, turn ellie into a unrecognizable person and have to make sure to push their sexual ideals and feminist beliefs onto the fans. Neil druckmann, really want to be accepted by the LGBT community, that he would go as far as to destroy and studio and his legacy. I hope he doesn't work crating for sony anymore. Stay away from this game if you haven't played. Just do what I did played the first game on ps3 a couple of times, and the remastered on the ps4 once, and I'm about to play it again soon, I want to remember ellie as that curious little girl with funny quotes, and smart remarks, and how she won Joel's feelings during their travel adventure.… Expand

    It seemed like every thing that happened in the game was just to get their agenda across and not for storyline purposes. And the story definitely suffered for it. The graphics were amazing so there's that going for it. If you are looking for a beautiful looking game with not much else then this is the game for you.

Cada detalle, cada gesto en los rostros de los personajes, cada lugar que se visita es diferente al anterior. Abby fue un personaje con el que logré empatizar aunque haya sido quien terminó con la vida de Joel, fue rápida y la historia no nos dio tiempo de otra cosa más que odiarla y querer terminar con ella y con cada uno de sus amigos. No cualquier juego se atreve a lo que hicieron con TLOU part II, y eso es digno de admirarse.… Expand

I keep reading many accusations towards Neill Druckmann being a bad writer. Come on! The guy brought us an amazing first game! You wouldn't be complaining if TLOU1 didn't exist!I really don´t understand the hate towards this game. You had it all, a good story, a good drama, the most beautiful graphics we had seen that year, in short, a Masterpiece, and now you just ruined everything the worst way... You force us to love or understand the reasons and history of this character (Abby) and that was not enough for you, but you make us play with her and save her too, before killing Joel. It was supposed to cause us some kind of pain and have empathy with her, right? The truth was not achieved in the least.

    The strength of TLOU was the relationship between Ellie and Joel after having lost Sara, the fact that he cared for her as his own daughter, you could kill any other character and give a very similar drama and feelings to us, the fans. You could have even made us fall in love with Tommy and then kill him or do a massacre and then Ellie & Joel's revenge, but what made the game so successful years ago, was the relationship between them, as main characters... Even the end of the game is horrible, all for nothing, at least you should get revenge for Joel.

    I loved this story, the most perfect one, it even surpassed that of many movies. The only thing that makes me give this rating are the graphics, they are still beautiful, even more, some of the most realistic for these times, and yet it isn't enough for the disaster that you did to the game. :/

    All those who comment that it was a good plot line is because they are not real fans of the game, perhaps it is just one more game that they just liked. But for true fans it was the worst thing ND could have done.    … Expand

    Gameplay and graphics are overwhelmingly well executed. That said, it's also about 95% identical to the first game. The mechanics and the fighting has changed very little Add to that a world already designed once, it's really just following in the footsteps of it's predecessor. This is a good game, standing on the shoulders of a legendary game. My low score is reflected in the fact that the narrative of the game defecates on said giant. It retroactively ruins one of the best games ever made. It's such a bad story, that it is actually pulling down an otherwise great game into the mud. This should've been a new title. The Director should've kept his hands far away from the beloved characters and existing storyline from 13 years ago.    … Expand

    Game of the Generation. TLoU2 is a phenomenal game and incredible achievement. The emotional depth and magnitude has you exactly where the game wants you; from legitimately letting a little squeak out; to hiding behind my hand unable to watch those final decisions.. I'll be honest, as beautiful as the game is, it had me questioning my interest, it had me concerned by the character choice;Game of the Generation. TLoU2 is a phenomenal game and incredible achievement. The emotional depth and magnitude has you exactly where the game wants you; from legitimately letting a little squeak out; to hiding behind my hand unable to watch those final decisions.. I'll be honest, as beautiful as the game is, it had me questioning my interest, it had me concerned by the character choice; but by the end, i'm torn, shocked and in love with the game.     The most beautiful story i have ever played in some ways even better than the first part. Many people hate this one but they are to narrow minded to even understand what is the true meaning and essence Of the story. The graphics are the best i have ever seen on a playstation 4 or any game for that matter. The gameplay is super fun and had me at the edge of my seat.     I have no idea where these incredibly negative reviews are coming from, this is an outstanding sequel.It's the game they absolutely had to make and the story they had to tell and I'm so glad they had the freedom to tell it, here's hoping there's a Part III!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
