    Well, this game is definitely not what masses were expecting. This is the main reason why the game got so many negative reviews in first three days. Several days have passed and.. wow, what is it? Yes, people who actually completed the game started to rate it on 6+. Why? Because you need to complete the game at the first place and not whine about one *spoiler_death* at the beginning of theWell, this game is definitely not what masses were expecting.     I'm really sorry for developers who worked on the Last of Us 2 and now have to head all those bad reviews from people who can't understand a serious message, plot and deeper understanding of an actual great piece of art.
    This game made me cry and left a nice hole in my hart, just like after the first one. it's great, I'm happy I've played it without reading all those reviews, watching all those *bad* youtube pre-release reviews and spoiler.

    It does not deserve the name after so many years of waiting, plot and ridiculous and ireal protagonists. Enough of forcing with these types of protagonists.
    The game is repetitive and only the graphics are saved.

    Amazing game in every aspect. I think it deserves a 9 but I’m gonna give it the 10 as my tiny contribution against all the homophobic and fanboys out there that are giving it a 4, 3 and even ¡¿2 and 1!?

    Amazingly rough game that puts you through the pain the characters feel. I highly recommend this game to everyone who loves the first game.

    I don’t see why this game is getting hate. While I was new to the series (picked up part 1 a month before part 2 came out) so maybe that has something to do with it? In my opinion it is one of if not the greatest single player campaign I’ve ever experienced. I lol’ed I cried I screamed the most. I even began pausing the game anytime something scary happened so much it became somethingI don’t see why this game is getting hate.     I absolutely loved the game. I loved that it makes you do things you dont want to, play as a character you dont want to. It makes you question what you want to happen. You question if ellie is doing the right thing at points. The only part i didnt like was having to hurt ellie because it was hard for me to do that. I enjoyed the flashbacks. It makes sense that ellie was mad a joel but atI absolutely loved the game. I loved that it makes you do things you dont want to, play as a character you dont want to. It makes you question what you want to happen. You question if ellie is doing the right thing at points. The only part i didnt like was having to hurt ellie because it was hard for me to do that. I enjoyed the flashbacks. It makes sense that ellie was mad a joel but at the end they give closure in a way ellie leaving the guitar means she forgives joel and the last cut scene with joel and ellie the last conversation they had, i had tears in my eyes. Ellie not killing abby just means ellie wants the endless cycle of revenge to end, she cant do it anymore. Do you see the parallels from the end of this game and the end of the first one? Abby is like joel and lev is like ellie all she wanted to do is save lev. This game really made me feel emotional and that’s something i wanted. I wanted to feel conflicted. I think the way naughty dog incorporated the lgbt characters was also fluid and not forced like people say. And the gameplay was extremely fun as ellie and abby im really hoping for a multiplayer game. I might even say game of the generation, well done naughty dog thank you for an unforgettable experience. Theres no other game out there like this game. Its very unique and detailed they put their all into making this game feel and look real… Expand

    Fantastic game, extremely sad and touching. I think what the studio was trying to do was very successful, and while it was hard at times, ultimately the game was satisfying.

    to be honest, graphics good. game play, fun. but for a single player game that defines itself more with the story and storytelling. really disappointed. The sudden and weird character decisions... very poorly written (i.m.o) from a fan's perspective that is.

I first played The Last of Us 1 when I was 11 years old, and even at that age I could feel the range of emotions that most people twice my age could feel. Now it's been 7 years later and unlike some people I wanted a second game. After playing the game it breaks my heart to say that this game was absolutely terrible. The bond that was in the first game between Ellie and Joel wasn't there in this game. It was in a couple of the flashbacks but it just wasn't there. A lot of people are complaining about he politics in the game like the fact Ellie is lesbian but honestly I really couldn't see the politics being pushed in this game, and the fact Ellie makes sense 100% considering in the first games left behind dlc it confirmed she was. Enough about the story I don't want to talk about the story too much because I know there are 100 other reviews that are going to only talk about the story. I want to focus on another terrible part of the game and also some good parts. Starting with the bad parts which is gameplay, the gameplay in this game started off great it was really nice it was different than the last game the stealth in my opinion was actually really good, but the problem is, is that you do this the entire game. Some will argue that "you don't have to always do stealth" yes that's true but that would mean you only have two choice gameplay wise. Kill bad guys with loud gun, or kill bad guys with knife or bow. This gets extremely repetitive and after the first 5 hours of the game. Another thing that I dislike about this game is how 85% of the game is based around Seattle, this gets very old unlike in the first game where there was multiple areas that you was able to explore for long periods of the game. moving on from negative things about the game, which there are many more I could cover but i'll leave that for the other reviews. I wan't to talk about some things this game did very well. First thing is graphics this game had amazing graphics although I had to play it on my loud ass ps4 it was still an amazing looking game, I remember taking a lot of screenshots during the cut scenes and out of the cut scenes because of how amazing the game looked. That's all I really have to say about the graphics but if I had to rate the graphics alone 10/10 moving on. Soundtrack, there is very few other games out there that has a great as soundtrack as this one and surprise surprise those other games are naughty dog games. Naughty dog does a great job with the soundtrack in the game and better yet connecting the characters with it. I actually liked this soundtrack enough to pick up the guitar again and learn a few of the songs from the game, which by the way are very good. Anyway i'm getting tired of typing so I will just end this review here. If I had to say weather or not you should buy this game I'd say no, just because this game honestly ruined the entire franchise for me with it's terrible story telling... Just keep the memories of the first game alive and pretend this game doesn't exist...… Expand

    The games story did an excellent job in bringing out my emotions such as: hate, anger, sadness and shock. "The Last of us part 2" is not a story where everything turns out fine in the end,and you feel happy finishing it. It rather leaves us contemplating the moral decisions we play throughout the game, and if our actions were truly justified.
    One of my highlights of the game was how it made me think. There were a lot of moments in the game, where i found myself speechless and made me question my own morals, and how it would reflect if i was in that world. It emphasizes on the fact that there are no "good vs bad" in life, we're all just people trying to survive, but we are also "people" who make questionable decisions and moral choices, and the characters in "The Last of us part 2" are no different from that.
    Game play wise, i feel that the gun play is the most unique out of any of "Naughty Dog" game, on how the Guns feel, look and sound realistic. The Guns feel heavy and damaged, contrasting itself to the games characters Themselves. The Stealth feels like the original "Last of us",but with more variety on how i would play with the NPC's, but at the same time more tense. Often found myself contemplating if i should use my supplies i recently found to make a med kit, or to rather make a Molotov. The decisions you make will accompany your play style.
    I personally loved the "skill points" in this game, even though it's similar to the original "last of us", the skills are more grounded and avoided what i feel like most games do. Often times with skill points, i feel like you'd buy a skill just to get to another one, and never use the original one you bought. I found myself finding every skill worth using in my first play through.
    My only negative in the game is the enemy Variety, throughout my play through, i found myself bored with the enemies. There's only a handful of different human enemies, and they all can virtually be taken out the same way you would a basic enemy with a pistol. The infected, i felt were unfortunately the most boring. Most level designs were runners and clickers, occupying the same space, with the occasional Shambler to make it more tense, and often times left me hoping for more enemy variety which the game lacks on.

    "The Last of us Part 2" was an emotional journey, with some of the best game play and story telling i have seen from"Naughty Dog", but unfortunately lacks in enemy variety. it's an amazing game worthy of it's predecessor, and a game that's meant to open conversations about moral choices in life. already looking forward to my next play through.    … Expand

    I've spent my own money and I won't regret it. The gameplay is very interesting. Added as new types of enemies, like dogs or stalkers, and new mechanics, such as masking lying in the bushes and crawling under cars. The game is interesting to play, as you can find a large number of solutions to a particular situation. At high levels of complexity, there is a huge lack of resources, and because of this, you have to be smart to pass the location. The graph impresses with its detail and beauty. Yes, the game has a subtext that I would not like to see, but it does not spoil the dignity of this game. At the beginning of the game, Joel's death shows all the cruelty of the world described in the game. Yes, it would be possible to bring out such an important character in a different, more heroic way, but then both the player and Ellie did not feel that hatred for the character's killers. The ending is also quite logical. Ellie didn't kill Abby, because she saw her and Levi as Joel and herself. She didn't forgive the killer of the person she loved, but she couldn't act like a monster either. Trying to take revenge and succumb to anger, she lost something that was so dear to her. I think Ellie's story is interesting and logical, but not Abby's. This character weak cursing helps two Seraphicum, with the tribe which she fought for a long time and have not experienced sageline to them.
    As a player who really liked the relationship between Joel and Ellie in the first part of the game, I also lacked the depth of the relationship between the characters. It is difficult to feel both the connection between Dina and Ellie, and the relationship between Abby and her friends, but still there is a relationship sometimes you start to worry about the characters, but this would like to see more often.
    Bottom line: I liked the game, and I don't understand the hatred surrounding it.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece, it takes a deep dive into raw emotions, actions and consequences as the story rapidly accelerates. Its sad, uncomfortable, scary and I LOVED IT.

    I would highly recommend refreshing your memory from the last game, this is a direct sequel.

At the beginning when they kill Joel I was mad, but eventually as the game progressed I started to accepted it because the plot was evolving good…then comes the second part of the game, where you play with a character with whom I have no connection nor sympathy at all (even though the game tries really hard to make you hate both Ellie and Joel for some reason). The only reason I didn’t stop playing was that I really wanted to see the ending (which sucks by the way) because I really thought that in the end, Ellie would have redemption, but it only end it worse for her.… Expand

    nose por que tantas criticas al juego, simplemente es genial, aunque es cuestión de gustos, sin embargo creo que esta hecho, tiene unos gráficos espectaculares, una trama interesante y aunque si es verdad que a veces la forma de desarrollarla no es muy coherente y lenta sigue siendo buena y te deja con ganas de seguirlo jugando, te genera muchos sentimientos, y te entretiene, y ademas denose por que tantas criticas al juego, simplemente es genial, aunque es cuestión de gustos, sin embargo creo que esta hecho, tiene unos gráficos espectaculares, una trama interesante y aunque si es verdad que a veces la forma de desarrollarla no es muy coherente y lenta sigue siendo buena y te deja con ganas de seguirlo jugando, te genera muchos sentimientos, y te entretiene, y ademas de eso tiene una jugabilidad increible.

    Pero sinceramente a pesar de los errores que halla podido tener vale la pena simplemente por el hecho de tanto por lo que esperamos, y porque saber el descelance de una historia y unos personajes de la primera entrega con los que empatisamos y encariñamos demasiado, y aunque el final y algunas partes del juego no fueron lo que esperaba,estoy contento por volver a una historia la cual me encanto y me marco mucho.

    Show us how Joel and Tommy survived let us see how the world of TLOU developed over the years.
    Show us how Joel became the man he was then I mean in the first TLOU because in part 2 he is out of character.
    They killed Joel like its nothing and then we play as abby and force us to LIKE/UNDERSTAND her. Damn I even had to fight against Ellie. I died on purpose many times. Its just frustrating.

    -Two lesbian teenagers with fragile emotions decide to go they alone against a full army for revenge.
    -A lot of mercenary women, more than men, and surely equally paid.
    -A trans kid victim of a religious cult.
    -And lots of depressing feelings, etc..
    imposible to get your mind into the story. First one was simple and worked well. They had to go from point A to point B to save humanity and had to defend themselves through the way. Violence was justified. They had no option. Characters were credible, you empathize, you get into the game. Simple. This sequel is just ridiculous. A great example of how to destroy a franchise.     Two thirds of the way through this game two things struck me. First, I was a bit bored - a novelty for a Naughty Dog title. Second, I was being forced into some kind of awful Top Trumps morality contest revenge drama - but why? We're in a setting where there is no rule of law, where all participants are wronged, damaged and at risk of sudden death - and where most have done despicableTwo thirds of the way through this game two things struck me. First, I was a bit bored - a novelty for a Naughty Dog title. Second, I was being forced into some kind of awful Top Trumps morality contest revenge drama - but why? We're in a setting where there is no rule of law, where all participants are wronged, damaged and at risk of sudden death - and where most have done despicable things to other humans. There are no saints in the fungal future, I thought that was made clear in the first game, so it feels odd for the new game to be some kind of weird standoff over who is the real villain on a dual/mutual revenge trail. (And that's not to mention the egregious plot holes driving the opening revenge narrative, the outrageous coincidences and character contradictions). So it gets draining to be pulled this way and that by the developers, tugging on my heart strings with all the subtlety that Ellie has with her iron bar...no, the first game was underpinned by hope and this one is all about anger and hate, there's no morality winner.

    And the problem with anger and hate in a revenge drama is we know what's coming. Oh yep. It's death or forgiveness and you might as well cut to the chase and stop rummaging in drawers and crawling through gaps because we know the ending. But the writers/directors want to keep squeezing the juice out of the lemon, just a little more they say, let me go a bit further and it'll morph into a masterpiece. Maybe that's why so many revenge dramas are so long and take place over many years - Ethan questing through the seasons in The Searchers, Ahab roaming the oceans for his whale, The Bride hacking and hacking, more and more blood and anger. But you keep reading or watching those classics because the environments, the supporting characters, the main protagonist back stories, the great scope and vision of the wandering experience...they're all fresh and dazzling. All of those things are missing from this game if you've played the first round. We already know Ellie and Joel, we know the Ballardian environments, we know the gameplay, the factions are pretty similar to ones already encountered - all that's new is the revenger who is badly drawn, contradictory in values and not given a backstory until it's too late to bring the audience over.

    I appreciate the writing ambition. I love some of the art design details - new players will marvel at the gameplay and settings. But the story arc is a rambling, creaking inchoate mess and I never feel that I get to know or understand the new character. But I feel that I understood Ellie and Joel from the first game, I know why Joel did what he did. I don't struggle with that. And I can't think of any reason why I'd want to replay any of the new game, I don't understand what the prize is, what it is that we have to gain.

After playing through about 15 hrs, I didn't hate it, but it didn't think it was amazing. After finishing everything but the prologue, I thought it was a decent game, but disliked it. After finally finishing the game fully, I absolutely love it.
    It is not perfect, it has lots of flaws in pacing, in the non linearity, in some plot issues, but the ending landed amazingly. After getting control with Ellie again in the prologue, I could not stop playing it. It hit the emotional buttons that TLOU1 hit for me, which were nearly overwhelming, and it all made sense to me once I finished it. I
    It's been two days since I finished it, and I haven't stopped thinking about it. It's sticking with me in a way that only really moving material does. I went out of my way to make an account to write this review thats how much of an impression it left.
    It's not perfect, and is a slog at times, the the ending is SO WORTH the effort. Amazing game. Don't let the internet trolls ruin it for you like it almost did for me. Play it, finish it, and let it leave its mark on you.

    Edit. The way this has stuck with me, and with nights of thinking on it, Im changing my score from 9 to 10. I gave it a 9 because I hated a lot of it. The only issue is you don’t ACTUALLY get revenge and waste hours of gameplay trying to achieve that goal. In addition the game forces you to play as the main antagonist for hours at a time which is extremely boring and time consuming. Unlike the first game where there were moments of darkness followed by moments of light that allowed you to laugh and fall in love with the characters The Last Of Us Part 2 is lacking in that department. The game constantly beats you down and feels as if playing it is more like a chore than something you’d do for fun. The characters leave much to be desired as they are no where near as interesting as they are in the first game and feel very underdeveloped and bland. Even Ellie. Most cutscenes just leave you with thoughts like “Oh him?” “Ugh this is so long”. Unlike the first game where I was completely sucked into the game and couldn’t stop watching I found myself getting distracted very very easily by my phone or other things. The combat system seemed a bit better and refreshing from the first one. The thing that killed it for me was the story, it seemed to lose it's way and kinda jumped all over the place and tried to force a narrative that really had nothing to do with what made the game great in the first place. So you want to cause suffering as a player but you don't want to deal with people choking on their own blood, begging for mercy, having to gun down dogs? Grow up. This is the apocolypse.
    - A storyline that will challenge your perspective, if you're open to it. If you want formulaic UnCharted-style gameplay, this most certainly isn't it. An eye for an eye most certainly leaves the whole world blind, and while the central themes of this story are as Dostoyevsky-esque you're like to find in this game, it's... Well, complicated. It's not fun, it's not light-hearted. It's rough. That doesn't mean it's not worth it though.

    Negatives

    - Unlikeable characters that sometimes lack common sense, and few weird turns and inexplicable actions taken by the characters. But this hasn't changed since the last game. What the hell are they doing trying to kill a little girl to create a vaccine for a fungal infection? We can't even do that now! Why does Ellie hate Joel? Why does she wanna die so bad!? Why does Abby never even attempt to justify any of her actions to people, even though it would make her life easier? The characters can act stupidly at times, but this really hasn't changed too much since the first game. - Use of "none-normie" protagonists. You know what I mean when I say this. It is devastating when Joel dies in the beginning, and I actually cried watching that scene, but the way it is handled throughout the game was done very well. I loved all the flashbacks to really delve into the characters more deeply. This game creates a range of emotions from being sad at all the unnecessary deaths, angry, proud of watching Ellie grow and learn, empathy for not just Ellie but also for Abby, and despair at the world both of these characters endure. The ending is perfectly done, and had it happened any other way in the final fight I may have lost all respect for Ellie as a character. I just wish I knew what was in store for her and for Abby next! So many questions left unanswered!… Expand

После первых двух часов (после главного спойлера ) , у вас только одно желание , разъебать всех нахуй , и по ходу компании за Элли , вам показывают море флешбеков , в которых только подогревается ваша жажда мести(в этот момент вы агресивно настроены на месть , но и не можете не умиляться этими теплыми моментами с Джоелом , вы чувствуете все на себе , буквально , как будто вы потеряли близкого человека , и вот эта потеря - перерастает в месть , которая движет не только Элли но и вами , вы на какой-то момент становитесь Элли, и чувствуете все на себе ) у вас есть цель. Мое личное ощущение на тот момент - завалить всех , кто встретится на пути , и если будет выбор между пощадой и местью , я выберу месть.
    Во второй половине игры , вам показывают обратную стороны медали , и именно тут вам объясняют , почему был убит главный герой первой части. И момент из первой половины игры , выглядит уже не так однозначно. Игра на какой-то момент охлаждает ваше трахание по поводу мести и , скажем так , делает РЕЛОАД вашего сознания , и теперь , вы с чистой головой начинаете проникаться "Антагонистом" , у которого затянутая сюжетная линия , но она необходима , ибо вы должны полностью прочувствовать атмосферу главного героя , что это не просто убийца , как мародеры из первой части , которые палили по всем подряд , а это самый обычный человек , который как и все выживали , который как и все любили , пытались построить новую цивилизацию в постапокалиптическом мире , но в жизни Эбби происходит переломный момент , после которого уже все рушится. И Эбби , и Элли выходят на тропу мести. И Дракманн показывает нам , к чему приводит эта жажда мести. И финальные сцены на ферме , это очень сильно , и эмоционально передают. Дракманн показывает , до чего может довести тебя месть, в погоне за местью , ты можешь потерять все , и остаться у разбитого корыта. Именно к этому и подводит вас игра. Играя первую половину за Элли , как я уже говорил , вы на себе ощущаете все переживания Элли. И именно поэтому , после прохождения всей игры у вас остается чувство пустоты , единственное , ради чего вы жили(играли) - пройдено. Но какой ценой ? Ценой потери всех близких людей, которые были готовы на все ради вас, которые искренне любили вас , но вам было наплевать на это , пока вы все это не потеряли.

Starting the story with a new character that you made us hate then try to sympathize with and like wasn’tI’ll keep this short. I liked the game play a lot. The fights were fun. The order of the story and povs was messed up. Starting the story with a new character that you made us hate then try to sympathize with and like wasn’t the best choice. Hate doesn’t turn to sympathy that easily. Fighting Ellie felt so wrong and none of Abby’s actions before that made me cheer for her or hope she lives at all. The couple of times Ellie killed me in the fight felt justified. At least, she wasn’t a dumb npc in the fight.

    The graphic was nice, only certain small detail was kind of weird if you not look into it in detail.

    Friendly advise for those who want to gain platinum trophies in this game, you might being torture by the loading time instead of re-watch those skippable cinematic cutscene.......it was slightly long to wait especially skip the cutscene in between the chapter, it take time to fully load up a new chapter.

Die Grafik im Game ist ganz gut und die Spiel Admusfähre auch aber wenn man sich die Story anschaut kommt das dir ürgentwie sehr schlampich rüber oder nicht nachgedacht. Für das game selbst gebe ich das Spiel eine von 1 bis 10 eine 9 aber für die Story gebe ich das spiel eine Klatte 0 das war eine Enteuschung.     Los gráficos las mecánicas del juego me gustaron mucho la historia también hasta cierto punto donde te sientes obligado a sentir lástima por quien se supone es tu enemigo, lo que te deja un gusto de un viaje sin sentido :/

    TLOU 2 hates TLOU 1.

    The reason we all loved the first one was because of characters and story. This game fails in the story category so completely that I had to give this a 1. It gets 1 point because at least the graphics department cared about the property. Everything else in this game is a massive failure. They REALLY want us to like Abby. She is hot garbage and a pathetic    TLOU 2 hates TLOU 1.

    Reading through all these hate comments, the game just makes more and more sense, and becomes more and more real. So many people blinded by hate and on refusal to understand that actions have consequences and that stories always have to sides. This game left me thinking about it for days after I beat it, and I'm still thinking about it a week later. It is safe to say that it is a story that really hits hard, and will, if you allow yourself to see through other points of view, thinking about a lot too. Gradually seeing the player ratings come up, just shows that the people who actually played the game are begging to show up and understand it for what it is. To be this divisive and to create this raw emotion into people is enough evidence that this game is packed with emotion and powerful narrative And storytelling.

And then in court the judge is telling you that the murderer is just a flawed human and then proceeds to show me videos of him playing fetch with dog to try and make me feel sympathy for him. The game not only is beautiful and the gameplay nice, the story makes you question choices and the path that you take. To acknowledge the greatness of this game you have to put aside your resentment playing as Abby and even though it’s easier to hate her and to want to see her dead, it’s a good reflection on humanity and the ability to understand each other. You don’t have to like her, nor forgive her. But you seriously lack empathy if you can’t understand her motives for what she’s done. The story is great in the sense that they didn’t sugarcoat anything and they stay truthful to what they wanted to tell as a story. Many games are too politically correct and lack strong statements. This one doesn’t and that’s why people have a hard time with it. It’s not what they wanted to see. The game is accused of being political and being propaganda for the lgbtq+ community among other things. Well if you think that you are too immature and too close minded to play grownup games.
    The game is about hate, you’re not supposed to love it like you love playing animal crossing or fortnite. It’s supposed to make you feel anger and sadness and hate and grief. That’s precisely what makes it a great game. It’s not a perfect game but at least it takes risks and talks about important matters such as regret, love, hate, hope and redemption.
    They are some big negative aspects of course like the fact that Abby and the other wolves aren’t very likeable or the events order could have been changed to help some players build a bit of empathy. Truth is I don’t like any of them either but I know enough with the little back story that has been given to us that they aren’t bad people to the core.
    Finally the ending left me unsatisfied and even if I wished for a happier ending, a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel, I’m happy they didn’t give In stayed on the path they chose, telling you there’s no happy ending for revenge.    … Expand

    Я считаю что это игра хорошая для 2020 года.Разработчикам удалось сделать так что игрок сопереживает главному герою. Но больше всего меня удивило то что в самом начале игры ты ненавидишь одного из главных персонажей игры,но в конце ты ему сочувствуешь и не понимаешь кто плохой а кто хороший. Графика на высоте и геймплей тоже. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
