    Having finally completed the game I can see it’s a masterpiece, and I really wish some of the people that gave it a low score the day it was released before even playing would just give to a chance

    Best sequel ever made !!! A lot of people mad at the plot, it’s not that bad. The gameplay and details in this game still amaze me.

    Invested from beginning to end, I spent an arduous and emotional six days to complete it. It proved my theories that video games are the future medium for entertainment. In a world where movies have grown stagnant and television has taken over, there’s nothing like experiencing a story you’re actually a part of.

    In a game like this, it’d be cheap and ill-fitting to give the player choice. And I say this as a person who had difficulty pressing the square button a few times during it. Giving us choice takes away from the narrative and sticking to the narrative doesn’t feel like you’re not in control. It’s a matter of preference, as with everything, but for me, I’m satisfied with every part of it and am on a NG+ run through as we speak, noticing different things. That, and I also don’t know what game can ever follow this one up for me—not something I say lightly (I wasn’t big into God of War, for example.)

They watched the spoilers and got butt hurt that Joel died. And their homophobic lgbtq nonsense just adds to their lack of any kind of meaningful insight to the game. That being said, this game is amazing. If you loved the first game and fully understood its themes, you’ll love this game. It’s beautifully done. Not only the graphics, music and gameplay, but also the story. This game will make you truly “feel” what’s going on inside these characters. I was fully ready to hate Abby for what she did to Joel. But after completing this game, I grew to understand why she did what she did. And although I wish I still would’ve had the option to kill her, I understand why ND wrote the story in this way. Abby arguably lost more than Ellie ever did. Abbys story is essentially the same as Ellie’s, just from her own perspective. Joel deserved to die. If you truly believe that Ellie deserved vengeance, than you can’t logically think that Abby should’ve been denied hers. Abby spent 4 years training for her mission to find Joel, and it shows in her physique. Much like an MMA fighter. Again, my only regret is not getting the option to kill Abby. Although ND made me empathize with her, I’ll always be loyal first to Joel and Ellie.… Expand

    Wow, how is this not a slam dunk 10/10. This story is deeeeeeep. If you knock of points for it being clunky, I can get that. But the story... I mean, damn. A revenge tell for the ages.

    One of the very best games ever made. People are complaining about the story for no reason, it's excellent. Gameplay and presentation are even more fantastic, all-around maybe the best PS4 exclusive.

    The game looks stunning. It brings back some well known mechanics from first game while doing it a bit differently. But most importantly IMHO the story is great. After a hour or so playing the game I hated couple characters so bad, but after a while - especially during the second half of the game - I actually got to like them a lot. They are self-centered, entitled men who went to toxic lengths to to reject the story they were told for the one in their heads, and are happy to COMPLETELY disregard the bigger picture of this world to play the hero. Shame there aren't enough golf clubs for all the haters. Heart broke for Ellie, Tommy, Dina, Jackson...but I also **** LOVE Abby & Lev. When she turned around to save those two kids, after after losing almost everything....I felt the same way I felt with Joel after the ranch house in 1. This game is about what is the last we have to give before there is no more of you left...and what it says about you. If you didn't get it, you weren't supposed to.… Expand

    It's a shame the game was reviewbombed before people even played it, but it's really great, a worthy second part for one of the best videogame stories. Naughty Dog is still the best in one on one character interactions and it shows again here.

    Don't listen to the haters or negative reviews, unless you are also homophobic, racist, and a miserable human being in general, in which case you won't like the game. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together will tell you this game is an absolute masterpiece.

The story might not be liked by most immature people that can’t accept how dark a world like TLOU is, and somehow can’t understand that what Ellie and Abby feel are very human, but even then— if you dislike something, it doesn’t mean it is bad. Something can be great and still be disliked. The combat is an upgrade from the first part. The game is a lot longer because there is more to tell. I get the hate about the inconsistency between character jumps and nobody likes flashbacks. Some characters are forgettable like Nora and Mel, but the rest have enough backstory to them. I'm glad that Ellie is able to reclaim her humanity by not killing Abby. Had she killed Abby, she would have become more broken and struggle to find herself in the same way that Abby did and maybe even worse. All in all, this was an amazing experience.… Expand

The thing about this game is it doesn't have enough mature audience and as a result, sees the whole game as this one scene of a beloved character death without even considering why it happened in the first place. Art is not meant to please everybody and I think Naughty Dog won't impress everyone at this point, but for a major developer to have this courage in storytelling and game design, I gotta give them a 10.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am a TLOUS fan and I can only give my most sincere prise to the team. I love distopic stories such as “The Road”or “The Walking Dead” TLOUS2 is just simply a master-piece.

    What I like the most is the astounding scenarios, characters, they way the trolled us in the trailers to not spoil us anything and...how they have changed the way I see the main characters.

    I started hated Abby (Abbigail) for killing Joel while I finished the game loving her (forbiding her for that action) and hating Ellie.

    This video-game toys with you psicology and simply shows how simply you can get killed. In TLOUS2 there are not “Potions”, “Phoenix Down” or super-heroes. They are as much realistic as they can so you will see lots of characters being killed in a very simple and realistic way...that’s life my friends...

    Furthermore, TLOUS2 triesto show the scale of grey colours people have. There are no bad or good people, it is just depends on the side of the coin/team you are seeing.

    It is super-sad that people are complaing about this game because there are LGTBQI+ characters or people of other color or religions. Thanks Naughty Dog for being so brave and create such a master-piece.

    People hated Abby because she killed Joel, but Joel killed her dad. What would you do if someone killed your parent?
    Ellie letting Abby live at the end also makes sense, she's trying to forgive so it doesn't eat at her for the rest of her life.
    Overall fantastic game and ready to play 2nd time through.    … Expand

A beautiful, dark and twisted revenge story. And nothing else would drive Ellie, or you as the player for that matter to hunt down someone to this length. It was really the only choice and it works brilliantly. As a massive fan of the first game I was devastated by Joel's death. It made me cry I will admit, but it made me realise how dam good the writing is to get that much of a reaction from me. This game is a dark, ponderous reflection of humanity and what hatred can be for motivation. And how that can affect someone afterwards. You have to accept the game for what it is, and not see it as less because what you didn't want to happen happened. This is the best game I have ever played. And that's big as a huge fan of the first game. If you remove expectations for what you wanted the game to be, then you will love it. This is a masterpiece. Graphics are unlike anything i have ever seen and the amazing story has been finally matched with gameplay that does it justice. Well done naughty dog, well done.… Expand

    The game is great in all aspects. People that didn't like the game didn't understand how deep it is. It makes you question yourself constantly. It's not just about revenge, it's about what comes with it and what it may do to you. Masterpiece and game of the year for me.

The addition of going prone is a huge boon to the stealth element of the game and makes for some tense moments hiding under cars, in grass or puddles.

Геймплей довольно интересен и разнообразен, особенно эта физика и взаимодействия с предметами, когда ты можешь задеть маленький кусочек стекла и он упадёт, заденешь ветку и снег с неё начнёт сыпаться, что очень сильно дополняет и без того хорошую атмосферу. Насчёт навыков, они мне не понравились, от силы только половина из них даёт реальные преимущества, а вторая совершенно бесполезные, да и подобных навыков в играх достаточно много. Стелс здесь хороший, видно что они пытались сделать его разнообразным, но если честно я ни разу не воспользовался дымовыми гранатами во время боя, поэтому он чем-то необычным не отличается, просто не плохой. Очень хорошо чувствуется пистолет и стрельба, благодаря довольно натуральной раскачки оружия, очень громкому и мощному выстрелу, добавили немного новых механик, такие как лассо, плавание на лодке, добавлены новые виды заражённых, что делает геймплей разнообразнее. Вообщем, с технической и геймплейной части, эта игра отлична. А теперь начнём про сюжет, он шедевральный, многие считают что он просто про месть, но это не так, он про то к чему приводит насилие за нисилие, вы рискуете потерять всё что вам дорого, убить тысячи невинных жизней, и стать зверем, чей разум затмён жаждой мести и ничем более. Сейчас начнутся спойлеры, кто не прошёл игру, не читайте дальше.
    Когда нам показали смерть джола, я просто сидел молча с открытым ртом, и у меня по лицу шли слёзы. После это я и вправду хотел мстить. Но когда, мне объяснили все мотивы Эбби, то тут начинается раздвоение, возникает не понимание за кого ты, тут нету плохих и хороших, у всех свои мотивы, за это мне и понравился сюжет, ты сопереживаешь обоим. Naughty Dog отлично показали, что Элли превратилась сама того не замечая, в зверя готового убивать всех ради достижения своей цели. Нам показывают, то что насилие за насилие, приводит к ещё большему насилию, и к потере того кто тебе дорог. А эта замечательная концовка, в которой мы знаём то что главной мотивации отмщения, была тайная ненависть к самой себе из-за того что при жизни она не простила Джоэла за то, что тот спас ей жизнь, а в последний день перед его смертью, она в последний раз оскорбила его. И больше она никогда не сумеет простить его, ведь он мёртв. Поэтому она пытается отомстить с такой сильной ненавистью и оправдаться. Из-за этого у неё на душе чувство недосказанности, которое она навряд-ли когда нибудь сможет заполнить. Я считаю то что тем, кому не понравился сюжет и концовка, не прочувствовали их или не поняли. Всем советую поиграть в этот шедевр (при чём желательно в темноте.) и полностью проникнутся этим сюжетом, ведь он гениален.    … Expand

One of the very few games that I have enjoyed so much that I just couldn't stop playing to the point my eyes were dead-shot red and people thought I was seriously sick and needed a hospital. It's something very small but the representation of the lgbt in this game was really cool. It's something so small and not the focus of the story but still enough that it was definitely seen and heard. Except for the build-up for Dina and Ellie's relationship in the beginning (which was a bare minimum) it's just casual and barely noticeable for the rest of the game that there's anything more going on. The way they brought in without overdoing it was on point. If anyone thinks they did overdo it they were focused on the wrong thing during the game, I can tell you that! The story on it's own was very well written and played out. It really got you wanting more each minute you're in the game. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Maybe the only note that I have is the ending, Ellie leaving her family behind to chase down Abby to let her go in the end seemed a bit of a waste, though there's indication that Dina went back to Jackson and you can see Ellie leaving the house as well, probably going after her. For me, this is the perfect way to end the franchise although I wouldn't be opposed to another game. All in all, the game was worth the wait all these years.… Expand

El juego me encantó, realmente no logré entender por qué le ha caído tanto odio, digo, es una experiencia e historia diferente al primer juego pero precisamente por eso es genial, si tuviéramos más de lo mismo sería repetitivo y simplemente se sentiría como algo hecho sin ganas.
    El único punto malo que le pondría sería que ellie perdonó a Abby siendo que yo como jugador la mataría por todo lo que hizo, a mí no me fue posible empatizar con Abby y siempre desee que en serio muriera, pero creo que con ese final logró ser inesperado y marcar al jugador.
    El final se me hizo completamente desgarrador, casi lloro al ver que Ellie perdió todo y al tocar la guitarra y recordar a Joel es un golpe nostálgico muy fuerte para todos, Dina la abandonó y ahora ella está devastada, es un mal sabor de boca el que queda pero por la tragedia y no por que la obra sea mala, no todas las historias tienen final feliz y TLOU 2 es una de esas con final trágico que a más de uno le hará sentir lástima y melancolía.    … Expand

    Great ending, it leaves you with a very good feeling, sad i have to say but makes you "understand" why abby did what she did and how for the Ellie´s crusade she lost everything. It was a rain of sensations, sometimes you was sad, others happy. Joel dont die like a hero because he isnt, taking Ellie and killing the doctors was an act of selfishness and thats someting that the game tells you

    I don’t even think it’s a 10, but it sure as hell isn’t a 4.9 just because your expectations were subverted. Naughty Dog once again tells a BRILLIANT story in such a raw, powerful manner. The “twist” at the halfway point may throw you for a loop, but if anything it makes the game BETTER even if it doesn’t cater to fan demands.

Despite the fictional nature of the setting, it's one of the most grounded human stories I've ever experienced. At no point does it make things easy - the light years-ahead facial capture technology used here isn't just a touch of polish, it's used to convey the characters' feelings with nuance and subtlety unprecedented in the medium. The story respects the player enough to never explicitly tell them what they're supposed to feel, and is mature enough to understand that the player doesn't always have to agree with what their character is doing.

    This truly is a once-in-a-generation presentation, from story to technology to gameplay, which is frankly another aspect of the game that is remarkably well done. With a story and setting this fleshed-out, personally I'd be OK with less than stellar gameplay. But they've expanded upon this as well, creating more traversal options for a more open world, combat areas with dozens of paths in every direction, AI that will surprise you when you take it for granted, and weapon/crafting systems that are as as slick and intuitive as ever. All this while maintaining great pacing, offering varied enemy encounters, puzzles, and exploration.

    Can see where the sequel does not reach the heights in storytelling and game play development as its predecessor, but was overall enthralled by the the characters, game design, and plot lines. Would recommend this franchise and am eager to see how the world building in The Last of Us series continues.

Excellent gameplay, audio, lighting, environment, story, soundtrack, etc. Was very angry in the beginning (which the game does to you intentionally), and then my emotions constantly switched between depression, sadness, anger, and happiness throughout. Keep away from spoilers and have an open mind when playing this game!

    Das Gameplay wurde bis an die Grenzen der Möglichkeiten weiterentwickelt. Dazu gehört, dass die Rätsel und Interaktion mit der Umgebung wesentlich erweitert wurden und gleichzeitig nerviges Gameplay aus dem ersten Teil weitestgehend verbessert wurde. Seile und Kabel, die wir nun hin und wieder gezielt werfen müssen, sind für Games im Allgemeinen keine unglaubliche Erfindung, aber in der Last of us Part II fühlt es sich für mich so an. Auch dass es nicht so viele Generatoren mehr gibt, finde ich gut. Dass wir jetzt auch Boot fahren können und ein Pferd reiten, sind Möglichkeiten, die ich als starke Verbesserung wahrnehme. Dass Looten beim Off-Dialog stört oder störend die Situation in die länge zieht, empfinde ich hin und wieder als nervig, gehört aber zur Dramaturgie und macht mich mürbe, so wie sich die Figur eben auch gerade in dem Moment fühlen muss.

    Die Grafik ist gut. Nichts allzu besonderes aktuell. Aber echt gut. Lighting und Shading ist sehr gut. Auch bei simpleren Scenes wird dadurch viel mehr rausgeholt. Der Geschmack und die Fähigkeiten für die Szenerien ist bei Naughty Dog einfach sehr gut. Das gucke ich mir gern an, egal ob hell und schön oder düster und eklig. Die Stimmung ist immer genau da, wo die Gefühle der Charaktere sich befindet. Nämlich, wie auch meine: Hin und her gerissen - irgendwo zwischen gefallen und verstören. Die Kamera in der Cut-Scenes ist sehr gut. Wer dort Kamera gemacht hat, der kam mit viel Erfahrung aus der Filmbranche in das Team von Naughty Dog. Ich denke, dass ist ja schon seit Gründung so. Schön, dass man so viel Mühe in der Szenen spürt.
    Was die Inszenierung oder Schauspielführung betrifft, bin ich da einfach überwältigt. Was Facecapturing / MotionCapturing hier ermöglicht und mit welcher Liebe fürs Detail man das MoCap Material noch verbessert hat. WAHNSINN. Da wird am Anfang ein blöder flacher Witz von Joel gemacht und Ellie reagiert darauf mit einem Blick, der so gut ist, sodass ich gleich mehrere Emotionen gleichzeitig in mir spüre. (Komik, Wut, Trauer)
    Dass, was sich in Ellies Gesicht abspielt ist für einen Game Charakter ein novum und bahnbrechend.

    Doch die meisten Hater von Part 2 kritisieren die Geschichte, vergleiche diese mit Part 1 oder sagen, dass die Geschichte konstruierter Quatsch ist. Ich möchte an dieser Stelle nur kurz sagen, dass ich spüre, dass die Geschichte zum Großteil aus den Charakteren heraus entwickelt ist. Dass nicht wir Spieler die Geschichte erzählen oder uns gar aussuchen können welche Geschichte man uns erzählt. Wir sitzen, genau wie im ersten Teil in 20 Kinofilmen, die ohne Werbepause oder Ladescreen am Stück geguckt werden. (20*120 Minuten für je 3.50€ ca.) Wer glaubt, dass er nach 2h enttäuscht ist, der gibt das Spiel einfach zurück. Wer glaubt, dass er nach 25h das recht hat, die Creator zu beleidigen ist Anmaßend und im Unrecht.
    Ich fand es während des Spielens auch unglaublich schlimm, was man von mir als Spieler verlangt hat und ich hab das auch sofort durchschaut, was das Spiel ab einem gewissen SEHR TRAGISCHEN MOMENT von mir wollte. Ich hab das gehasst. Ich hab aber weitergespielt und meine Gefühle haben sich verändert. Es war durchweg überraschend und die Geschichte wollte zum letzten Drittel hin kein Ende nehmen. Ich war dann sehr traurig, verwirrt und sehr bewegt als die Credits liefen.
    Jeder der die Geschichte als pauschal schlecht abstempelt und sie besser als Part 1 findet, dem sei gesagt, Geschmack liegt bei den Spielern. Die Wertung von schlecht oder gut liegt bei denen die verstehen was sie da gespielt haben. Der 1. Part war keine originelle Geschichte. Abgesehen vom polarisierenden Ende war das die typischste Zombiegeschichte aus dem Baukasten. Ausschließlich die Character-Driven Story war etwas ganz Besonderes. In Part 2 ist das genauso und noch viel viel besser. Character-Driven-Stories sind möglicherweise nicht das was man will. Sie sind eben dann authentisch wenn sie aus dem Character heraus getrieben werden.

    In vielen Serien, Filmen und anderen Medien sterben wichtige Figuren. Generell ist das eine gute Sache für uns Spieler oder Zuschauer. Jetzt wissen wir, dass in Part 3 jeder sterben kann und das erhöht die Fallhöhe und Spannung der Erzählung. Ich bin gespannt.    … Expand

    They could have been easily finish this game last year by ending it on Seattle Day 3 with Ellie killing Abby...a normal revenge story. Joel death is cruel, it fill us with the same feelings Ellie had, it is not a Disney story, Joel was a bad person but we get to loved him on the first game but eventually his past caught up with him.

    Abby killed Joel and Ellie wants to revenge his death...HOWEVER....Naughty Dog did the extraordinary...they made you played with Joel's killer, we all hate it....but as the days pass and we get to know this character, her back story and her reasons, we understand how valid her reasons were, maybe more than Ellie's and how determine she was in focusing on Joel only and nobody else.

    The creators want us to doubt who was right or wrong, make us discover the terrible consequences of vengeance in more than one occasion, Abby lost all of her friends, Ellie lost her family, her sanity, Jesse, Tommy's health and even the one thing that could connect her to Joel (her ability to play the guitar).

    People who said Joel was not honored, obviously did not understand the importance of the Flashbacks, the Birthday was amazing, the guitar scene as well, and the ending when Ellie "forgives" Joel the night before his death just an extraordinary touch in letting us know that having anger or being upset with love's ones is not worth it since you never know what could happens next.

    Finally the end is just perfect, Ellie honored Joel's life by forgiving Abby and allowing her to become the protector for Lev the way Joel was for Ellie. The scene with Joel smiling as Ellie was killing Abby was key in understanding that it was enough. I will only add a simple question...."Why Abby? - and let Abby explain Ellie that Joel killed her dad who was the doctor" That will be the perfect closure.    … Expand

The way you play as both Ellie and Abby really shows the complexity of human beings, and how far one will go for revenge. I think Dina should’ve stayed with Ellie but I don’t blame her since Ellie went off to find Abby again but ended up losing both Dina and two of her fingers it’s a bittersweet ending please play this game I’m sure you’ll love it I know I did, and the graphics are top notch honestly mind blowing so realistic, and baby JJ is the cutest baby I wish I could actually hold him in real life lol… Expand

The game's pace can drag on in a couple of parts, but overall it's a minor nitpick that does not compromise the experience whatsoever. The sound design is really impressive making the experience really immersive and the music, both original and covers, are subtle and beautifuland sets the tone really well throughout the journey.     Económicamente no me puedo permitir centenares de juegos pero esta fue sin duda mi mejor inversión hasta la fecha.
    The Last Of Us Part II no es un juego divertido; a diferencia de su predecesor, este juego contiene más momentos grises y obscuros, sin embargo una vez que comencé ya no pude detenerme.

Игра делится по смыслу на две части, где поочередного протогонистом становятся главные противники, на их долю выпадет множество испытаний, потеря близких людей, кровопролитные сражения, переосмысление жизненных идеалов и в конечном итоге каждый получит то что заслужил. Реализовано это в типичной для naughty dog стиле, когда игрок переходит из одной небольшой локации в другую попутно уничтожая противников и решая головоломки или же общаясь с другим персонажами для раскртия сюжета, то есть игра придельно линейная, что лично я не считаю за недостаток, для любителей открытого мира есть множество других игр. С технической состовляющий игра выглядит на пределе возможностей платформы PS4, отлично нарисованные модели персонажей, проработанные до мелочей локации(от пшеничных полей освещенных закатным солнцем до жуткого подвала больницы в который я 5 минут заставлял себя просто спустится), потрящающие освещение. Бой с превосходящими силами противника заставляют грамотно использовать окружение и арсенал, без стелс элемента пройти игру практически невозможно, противнику умело действуют в составе группы, постоянна пытаюсь обойти героя с флангов или зайти со спины. Отдельно хотел отметить звук в игре, он отлично создает атмосферу - взрывы, выстрелы, вой монстров, крики раннненых все это выполненно на высочайшем уровне и помогает полному погружению в происходящие на экране. По всем показателям данная игра выходит за рамки просто качественного продукта а является настоящим произведением исскуства. Я рекомендую всем поиграть в эту игру и составить свое мнение не поддаваясь потоку не обоснованной критики, уверен вы как минимум получите удовольствие, а как максимум зададите себе вопросы которые раньше перед вами не стояли.… Expand

    A true masterpiece! Along with Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, this game has the best graphics of this generation. Combat is extremely fun, and story, although controversial, satisfied me a lot. Will always be remembered as one of the best PlayStation exclusive games ever.

There are certainly minor flaws here - occasionally dumb AI, gating sometimes inhibiting exploration, etc, but the incredible writing, acting, gameplay, and storytelling vastly overshadow the flaws. This game is a masterpiece and a faithful, innovative evolution from the first game. I have rarely been so drawn into a game’s worldI subscribe to the idea that imperfect games can score a 10.     the negative comments here are a joke, clearly many of them didn’t even play the game to say that the gameplay is bad, you can even understand who didn’t like the ending, now say that the gameplay is bad, you’re kidding, the game overcame everything to the former in terms of mechanics in the game, it is sad to see that nowadays many people are left with their prejudice simply because Elliethe negative comments here are a joke, clearly many of them didn’t even play the game to say that the gameplay is bad, you can even understand who didn’t like the ending, now say that the gameplay is bad, you’re kidding, the game overcame everything to the former in terms of mechanics in the game, it is sad to see that nowadays many people are left with their prejudice simply because Ellie is gay and ignored the rest, it is sad, but even with that the game was still brilliant, a of the most complex stories I saw in games, in my opinion it surpassed the first game, I expected a standard story with everyone leaving happy in the end as it is every game, but this one surprised too positively for some and negative for others, that's debatable, but for me, I liked it a lot, I recommend it too much.… Expand

    Dont know why this **** hate the game, story is good, That ending on abby's storyline gives me chills dudeeeeeee! But the ending, a little bit unsatisfying. I hope tommy died tho, dont like him.

    Jamás en mi vida un juego me había hecho sentir mis emociones tan intensamente.
    Un juego donde no solo se mata con odio o se perdona con empatía, creo que el logro más grande de este juego fue dar un mensaje muy personal y diferente para todas las personas. Muestra dos personajes (Abby y Ellie) de la manera más humanamente posible por que van en líneas paralelas y las dos tienen la razon,    Jamás en mi vida un juego me había hecho sentir mis emociones tan intensamente.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
