    I think people should stop crying about the story, it's an incredible roller coaster of emotions and twists. Yeah your beloved character is gone but that doesn't mean it is a bad game, it's just someone's else vision, if you don't like it make your own. ND took a risk, by killing a main character, but boy did it pay off. Although there may have been slight pacing issues, the story being told was excellent. Being able to see the other side of Ellie’s story: ie Abby was imo great. Just a final heads up: the user reviews were reviewed bombed by people to childish to accept Joel’s death or the fact that not all the characters are straight white males. This game is worth 10/10.     The game is super dark and uncomfortable, because that's what we as humans should feel when faced with this pointless violence. I think it's an incredible way to tell a story and even though I have cried and yelled, I loved this game.

    Graphics are superb. The best in any console nowadays. Same about gameplay. The variety of combined methods of attacking and approaching to the enemies are the best you will see on any game right now.     The story is perfectly driven, regardless if you like it or dislike it or don't like how it ends and is also by far, the most immersive of any actual game.

    But in the case you're not ok with the story, you must be a complete troll or hater to give this game a score below 7, because there's no possible discussion this game is absolutely astonishing in all the other areas.

    So just applying common sense, if you have a game with a 10 in 3 of 4 areas, even if the story for you score zero, the average will be 7,5.

    A to me misunderstood game, I think the main point people fall on is not seeing the bigger picture while also understanding why characters did what they did. If you as a player is able to go deeper and want a game that is gruesome at times but also shows regret and forgiveness against anything, I think you would enjoy this.     Gameplay is significantly improved upon the first entry in the series by adding dodging, jumping, MUCH smarter AI, firefights that include both infected and humans, stealth gameplay that rivals Metal Gear, and much more. Beautiful sprawling environments don't feel nearly as linear as they have in previous ND titles, and every detail, from the lighting coming through a broken window, to the wind blowing through foliage on a grassy path, feel as close to lifelike as they ever have been.

    So I actually made an account just to write this review because I think this game was severely misunderstood by so many "fans" of the series. It will not include any spoilers.

    Gameplay: 10/10 If you played Part 1, you will feel at home right away. The gameplay in it's core stayed the same, which I love!     Gameplay: 10/10
    If you played Part 1, you will feel at home right away. The gameplay in it's core stayed the same, which I love! There are some more options in terms of crafting/upgrading/skill tree which can complement your preferred playing style (stealth or rambo) and Ellie is more agile that what you know from Part 1. It feels like a true survival game when there are strong enemies and loot is scarce. If you are an average or experienced gamer you should certainly play it on HARD. That gives you some challenge without being too challenging. It complements the story very well and you will certainly have some "fear" moments because you feel like the enemy is too strong. Sometimes I even thought of going one difficulty higher, do as you please but the game certainly is the most fun when it is challenging.

    Video/Sound: 10/10
    Here obviously we don't have to say much. It is amazing how an almost 7 year old device can produce such graphics. Play on HDR if your TV supports this. The sound itself is also amazing, especially if you have surround sound. When you flee and enemies are chasing you, hearing their shots, screams, dogs running after you from behind ist just amazing. I do wish they had more "ambient" sounds for the weather, wind, water etc. coming from the back speakers that would make you feel like you are IN the game when there are slow parts of the story.

    Story: 9/10
    So, now we come to the most talked about subject. As this review should not include any spoilers I obviously can't tell much about the story itself. There are many negative reviews about the story because people don't like how the story turns out. Just to put it out there, the story itself is great! It makes you think about violence, good and bad, right or wrong and is constructed with a lot of emotions overall. And I think that's where the expectation gap comes in. We as gamers are used to being able to change the story and make the protagonist do what we want. The Last of Us Part 2 is not such a game!!! (and btw Part 1 was neither). It will tell you the story and decisions of the people in it and you as a gamer
    can't change that. And that is why it is so great. There is no right or wrong decision for you to make. The protagonists make the decisions and you are the one executing it. And that gives you insights in who the protagonist is and what he/she feels like. And with this they can portray a good story that makes you question decisions or reasonings of the protagonists, which is great! The story is an emotional rollercoaster and I love it for that reason.

    Overall, the game is not perfect, but it certainly is a very worthy Part 2 to the first game that develops a new story in a brutal environment. It is fun to play, has a great length with an interesting story that makes you think about it and obviously looks and feels great. Also, there were emotions that I felt while playing this game that I never had in any other game before. And just for that I certainly recommend playing this game.    … Expand

    The graphics, acting and just overall gameplay is absolutely stunning, and the narrative is excellent, putting you through one hell of an emotional rollarcoaster. This game really can't get high enough praise, and really was worth the 7 year wait.

I judge the game on what it is and my experience playing it rather than being distracted by the way it was marketed (which some people are using to criticise the actual game) and how the audience was deceived through trailers and so on. This game is a very real representation of trauma, loss and how to cope with emotions similar to this within an already collapsed society. Having Joel's death be out of no where, shocking and unceremonious is considered cheap by some, however most people know this is how death is in the real world, more often than not. In a world as real as this, I was not surprised at the manner that these events unfolded in and the pain you feel from this loss puts you in the head space that Ellie is in. She has no time to be funny and light hearted after this experience and she remains changed forever. Another criticism this game faces is how "it ruins Ellie" as a character. How can Ellie be expected to remain the sarcastic, bubbly 14 year old from the first game after all she has to endure through both games and for the majority of her life? As a more mature young adult, Ellie is visibly scarred from the trauma she has faced and understandably so. By the end, she is so overcome with the ongoing conflict in her head when she lets Abby live. The real emotion that this game draws out of you is immense, and any form of art that can invoke emotions as vividly as The last of us part II does, should be considered in my eyes, as a masterpiece.… Expand

I knew what happened before playing it and purchasing it but after thinking that this game is a 20+ hours of gameplay game, I thought it was not right to judge it based on 2    This game was spectacular. Not only do they provide us with realism, they also don’t fail to take me on a rollercoaster of emotions. While adding the aspect of perspective it gives us a sense of what we need to see. Humanity isn’t just about hero and villain and they defy those expectations. There is never a real hero or villain in the world, there is only humans doing what they feel is right and doing what they need to do to survive. I’ve never experienced something like this before in a game because no one is brave enough to defy the boundaries of the art of gaming. I congratulate everyone who worked on this game and who gave everything to give us this amazing experience. I hope other developers can learn from this company and the people who wrote the game to start expressing much more inclusive and realistic experiences in their stories to give a players a feel of what a real game and experience looks like because most games these days, they tells stories of humanity and the paths they go on considering certain situation and it’s up to them to express how people would actually turn out after certain sever ya happen to the world. Thank you. I hope for a part 3 and I hope these amazing people continue to do what they do best!… Expand

This is one of the most amazing experiences (and yes, it’s an experience cause calling it a videogame is too reductive) I’ve ever had the privilege to live. Please do yourself a favour and play it.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well. This game was a lot to digest. What an emotional rollercoaster it was. There are so many elements which make it **** awesome. The story is very well written and the flashback which explain so much about part 1 are so good to watch, after all these questions you get after part 1. It was good to know that Joel finally told Ellie the truth, as painful as it was. It was tough to watch her struggle about this. The character development of Ellie is made so well. To me it shows she is having many flaws. She needs to get revenge, even after she is spared by Abby twice, she keeps going back. It is something so stupid, but it shows about her character, how much pain she has from Joels death.
    Something else I really liked was the fact you first hate Abby, but then you gain more sympathy from her, after playing her part. This is something I didn't see in many games, only in Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, as I can remember now. It gives a very interesting twist to the good/bad side of a game.
    The character of Joel is also very well written. He has a lot of internal struggles, especially his love for ellie which even made him betray her. It is tough to see, but it really explains why he does what he does. He cares for her so much, he tries to make her have a great life, teach her guitar and all that. She is his ''new'' daughter and he doesnt want to lose one again. The only thing I don't get is why he trusted Abby, a complete stranger.

    What I also liked a lot was the intensity in some battles. Some get pretty tough and the feeling to be trapped with only 3 bullets and one bottle is quite terrifying. Especially when you are in a dark area with only infected, who are running **** fast. THe part that reaaaally gave me the creeps was abby in the basement of the hospital. It was really horrific, but I loved it so much. And all of the weapons you can use, of which the most brutal ones were definitely the pipe bombs, the trap mines and the flamethrower (so glad it returned).

    About the battles: I feel there were not as much intense battles as in part 1, since the pacing in the game is quite slow. For me, there could have been some more. However, the pacing is very important. It creates a lot of depth in the story, and it puts all the pieces of the puzzle together. I reaaally love the moment when Ellie and Joel are in the history museum. I also was blown away by the liveliness of the stadium were Abby and her group lives. And the part very high up in the sky with all the bridges, **** wonderful
    Now I am touching to another part I **** loved. The graphics and the entire atmosphere. I kept getting surprised and blown away by the tremendous detail of anything and everything. Sometimes it is only small things, a gesture, someone making a small comment, the anxiety, fear or anger in the characters face and body language. I loved the fact how much despair and anger there was in ellies face. Theres not much happiness in her, but this is not strange if you look at what happened to her.

    Some things that I didnt like: sometimes you are walking around for ages trying to figure out what you have to do. It is kind of frustrating. However, it could also be just me. Some battles are designed kind of poorly, for example the one with the sniper, it is so easy to get hit and there not that much fun in playing this battle, since the best way is to stay in the back all the time. Some melee combats with these ''smart'' infected, as well as the combats between ellie and abby are very unsatifying and somewhat frustrating. THe only skill you learn is how to press the right buttons at the right time, instead of having a proper battle. What put me off as well is the repetition and somewhat unbelievabilty of the story. There is really not a lot of variation in the battles. And revenge as the primary motif in this game gets kind of hard to believe. People risking their lifes over and over again to kill 1 person. And Abby saving some strangers and even risking her life to get medical supplies in the darkest place of a hospital gets kind of unbelievable as well. Even more that she betrays her whole faction which is suicide anyway. I just don get it. The only valid reason for her to break the rules is to rescue her boyfriend. But thats all. The environment and the intense moments make up for this to some extent. But sometimes it really felt they only made you play a section because it is epic to play, rather than contributing to the story.

    A final thing I loved a lot is the dark, depressing vibe in the whole game. Sure, I didnt like Joels death at all. But this whole world is **** up anyway. It is not a fairytale. The story is not made primarily for the player to play what is happy and satisfying for them. People die, people do **** up things, people get twisted minds and all that. But they keep going. That what I loved about part 1 and about part 2 as well.

I do agree that there are flaws in the story, but most of them are explainable: like why Abby killed Joel even after he saved her, why she risked her life and betrayed WLF to save Yara and Lev, why Joel let his guard down, why Ellie let Abby go, etc. They are all **explainable**. It's just that the story can be told in a better way, or maybe a different story might be better. However, all in all, I still think TLOU2 is a good game, it deserves better.

    I think TLOU (1, 2) are not just games. It's also stories, stories that one can have a more immerse experience, but not something one can control except the author. I value the experience, and emotion shocks the stories gave me. I think this game should be looked at from an audience's perspective, and one should at least try to understand the idea behind the story. Tragedies can also be good story.

    I don't agree with everything in the story, but I respect it. I also waited years for the game, I think it still worth the investment I gave it, financially and emotionally. It definitely is not a 10 point game, but I'd still give it a 10 because I don't think it should be less than 7. I would still want to know the future story of Ellie and, very importantly, Abby. I want more TLOU.

Being able to dodge, go prone, again although small in the greater picture do so much to freshen up game play. I would have loved to have seen some type of gameplay involved with the rope physics. That could have used to make traps if you carried a rope around with you. You could place it on the group to trip NPC’s. You could place it between doors at neck height, attract the infected to run into it and trap them. It’s a one time use as once it’s triangled you’ll need to retrieve it kind of thing. The world they have created is beautifully horrific. Dilapidated buildings, overgrown friends it’s just stunning. The sound design is all time great. Rain splashes, gunshots, voice active it’s a masterclass on immersion.

    The only moment in the game where I actually felt disgusted is 3/4 of the way through the game when things come together, you are forced into a fight that NOBODY would ever want to be in. It’s does give you some insight into how your opponent actually fights but it’s just so hard.

Am anfang blinde wut sie will jeden töten um jeden preis doch nach und nach wird ihr bewusst dass sie nicht nur „böse“ leute tötet sondern männer und frauen(auch schwangere) die im grunde das gleiche wollen wie ihre gemeinschaft in jackson, versuchen ein normales leben zu führen. Und am schluss der „endkampf“ gegen abby, sie will nur noch vergeltung doch dann erinnert sie sich an joel zurück und sie weis joel war nicht gerade ein heiliger er ist über leichen gegangen egal wie aber er hätte nicht gewollt dass sie so wird wie er und was hat man von rache nachdem man es erledigt hat?

    Die andere seite ist abby (jeder hat sie gehasst als sie joel getötet hat und jeder war enttäuscht als man sie gespielt hat) aber nach und nach versteht man mehr und mehr warum sie das alles auf sich genommen hat. Wer würde nicht den mörder seines vaters aufsuchen, foltern und töten? Ob man sie leiden kann oder nicht sei dahin gestellt es geht nur um einen anderen blickwinkel betrachten und das hat das spiel sehr gut umgesetzt. Hätten wir im ersten teil abby schon gespielt und würden am schluss sehen wie der vater stirbt und im part 2spielen wir aufeinmal joel den mörder würden wir ihm den tot wünschen. Und das ist das große problem bei den meisten bewertungen, sie bewerten aus sympathie und betrachten nicht das große ganze. Ich war am boden zerstört als joel starb und wenn ich könnte würde ich ihn zurückholen, aber es geht nicht. Das universum von the last of us ist ein düsteres, ängstliches und trauriges universum, aber genau das liebe ich an dem spiel.

    Ich hoffe viele leute die das spiel durch haben und sich negativ geäußert haben schauen nocheinmal die story durch und lassen sie wirken, denn meiner meinung nach hat nd alles richtig gemacht und ich freue mich jetzt schon auf part 3.    … Expand

The desperation of these characters is wonderfully drawn in this brutal unforgiving world. A world so detailed and well built, full of hateful, nuanced people on the edge of survival.     All characters have interesting reactions and despite being sometimes a little predictable it doesn't make it less appreciable.

    People angry about this forgot what it's about to actually have patience to get rewarded with meaningful moments and not getting thrown a bunch of nice dings when you open chests.

    Es un juego muy duro hablando anímicamente, los grandes mapas llenos de lugares por explorar y la carencia de mini mapas o señaladores de zonas, hacen que tengamos que estar muy pendientes para no perdernos nada, dandole mas relevancia    los gráficos son excelentes, el doblaje a español es maravilloso y la historia es tan real como la vida misma, y estamos hablando de un juego de zombies.

    Es un juego muy duro hablando anímicamente, los grandes mapas llenos de lugares por explorar y la carencia de mini mapas o señaladores de zonas, hacen que tengamos que estar muy pendientes para no perdernos nada, dandole mas relevancia a el juego, la interfaz es muy similar a la que se vio en la precuela, sien embargo, en esta entrega podemos disfrutar de mas variedad de armas y objetos fabricables.

    En cuanto a la historia, continua con la aventura de Joel y Ellie después de terminado el anterior juego, sin embargo, en este caso los actos del anterior son consecuentes con los sucesos de este por lo que si eres de las personas que se casan con los personajes haciéndese a la idea de que son inmortales vas a odiarlo, este juego a diferencia diferencia de otras grandes entregas de la empresa como puede ser la saga de uncharted, no termina con un final feliz, este juego es mas real, hace entender que lo que nuestros personajes hacen o hicieron tiene consecuencias, es un golpe de realidad fuerte que puede herir susceptibilidades y aplastar los sentimientos de los mas delicados consumidores, es una gran estrategia en el mundo de los videojuegos que puede llevar a crear juegos con historias mas profundas y creíbles, un vuelco de paradigmas a todos los juegos en los que nuestros personajes arrasan con millones de npc`s sin pagar las consecuencias y un gran avance en cuestión de darle siempre al consumidor lo que quiere.

    Spectacular game, impeccable narrative and unbelievable character development. The Last of us Part II masterfully shows us the various sides that involve a story, and how each act has consequences. A masterpiece!

    Great graphics. Great soundtracks. Great storyline... makes all sense. Haters can hate, game's still amazing. For me, best game of the decade... easy. Like they say this game isnt for everybody.

Não entendo o absurdo hate que esta tendo o jogo porque ele ta bom demais cara, estão reclamando sobre Abby não ser carismática como a Ellie e cara ela não é, é outro personagem é pra voce entender o porque da procura por vingança dela ela ta lutando por suas perdas e a Ellie as dela. O Part II é sobre ódio e vingança e o    Melhor jogo do PS4!!!

    The Last Of Us parte 2 es un gran videojuego y unos de los mejores para PS4 y de esta generacion. Tiene un hermoso aspecto visual, una genial banda sonora, una jugabilidad entretenida y una historia buena, cruda y arriesgada en mi opinion, pero cumple. Tiene ciertas cosas que no me convencieron del todo, pero en lineas generales es un gran trabajo de Naughty Dog.

    The story is absolutely heart wrenchingly good. It's not a story of revenge like everyone is saying. It's not a story of "killing is bad". Plenty of people do plenty of killing. It's a necessity in this world. This is a story about grief and hate. One thing leads to another and the    I'm not going to get into spoilers here because half of the leaks were wrong or contextualised in a bad way.

    The story is absolutely heart wrenchingly good. It's not a story of revenge like everyone is saying. It's not a story of "killing is bad". Plenty of people do plenty of killing. It's a necessity in this world. This is a story about grief and hate. One thing leads to another and the characters end up being led by pure hatred. And I was too. The game made me feel the loss of the characters and made me want to "kill every last one of them". While I cared for some characters much more than others, it's still very easy to see that everything that the characters do, is well within what they would do if they were real people. Unfortunately this leads to some horrible and dark choices, but that is what would realistically happen. It's not bleak, it's evocative. It makes you feel the same sadness and the same happiness that the characters feel. The game has so many happy moments. Potato is a bundle of joy. They are emphasised so much by how dark the characters get in other scenes. It is all woven together and creates a huge contrast where - in the end - you're left with this sinking feeling of grey. In the end it's not about "revenge is bad". It's about how the characters grow and deal with the pain that they're living with, and the price that they have to pay for so desperately wanting that pain to go away. It's about acceptance that something has happened and you just can't change the past. You can't make memories go away, and that's something that we all have to deal with. Along with the choice of whether to let the hatred go or to sacrifice everything in your life in pursuit of satiating that hatred. Go into this game with an open mind. Don't just discount it or look for flaws. Honestly, I just wish there was more. Story is a 10

    Ellie is my favourite character. Let me get into the gameplay. Phenomenal play styles that really flow with the character that you're playing. It em
    phasises what you're able to do with the tools and physicality available to you. Stealth? Run and gun? Bit of both? You got it. You already know about the enemies calling each other by names and the brutality of it all. Honestly, to me it was just incredibly satisfying to have the different options where I could lay traps, lure people to a place, swim under water and attack someone from behind. Maybe even threaten someone else by holding their friend hostage. Or even just evading them all can end up exciting. It's all accessible too, which is great. Very customisable. Gameplay is a 10.

In addition to excellent gameplay (just like the first), incredible environments and wonderful graphics, the game has a very different story from the first, but still connected, showing the consequences of the actions of the characters and how it changed them. If you haven't seen the reason for Joel's death, or how those characters have become what they are (and not what you want him to be), maybe you should have played Last of Us part 1 more closely.… Expand

    Une très bonne suite à un excellent premier jeu , avec une histoire qui nous fait réfléchire et deux personnages principaux bien écrit . Les graphisme et les annimations sont à couper le soufle , le level designe est inspiré et le gameplay est sensiblement le même que pour le premier mais bénéficie de plusieurs améliorations bienvenu .

    I can totally understand the user score being so low, obviously the storey is of a bitter taste and a heavy strike. But I found it is true to the heart and the storey line is completed really well, even it doesn't go where you want it go.
    I am expecting more acceptance over time. And Part 2 will be another remarkable masterpiece in the gaming history. My socre: GAME DESIGN 9 / STORY 10.

    It's difficult to describe all feelings when you finish a game like The Last of Us Part II. Everything in the game is way good. From its story to the gameplay. It's a very rich experience. Graphics and mechanics were improved when you look to its predecessor.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
