    Best experience ever on a videogame. Better than Part I, which is also awesome. Naughty Dog brought us a masterpiece again. One week after finished the game, still impacted with the story.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Finally finished the game after hours of playing. The gameplay and the visual parts were so good. The team that worked on that, did an amazing job. The problem that made me really dislike the game is the story writing. The whole playing process, I had a feeling that the game force me to do things that I don't want to do. For example at the end when Elly wants to kill Abby but then she remembered Joel and decided to let Abby go. I really wanted that the game gave us choice to kill Abby or let her live. For me that is just so weird, that Elly left Dina and killed so many people to take revenge and at the end she just forgives her.
    Characters motivation was also so bad written, Abby searched Joel for 5 years. I dont think that she will be still that mad after 5 years. The whole Abby character is just far-fetched. She wants to take revenge for her unnamed father, that didn't even played a big role in the whole game. Like they had 7 years to think of the story and the story writers came with this.
    I can't say it's the worst game that I have ever played, but as a fan that waited so long for the sequel, its really disappointing.    … Expand

    You would think Ellie and Joel are completely different people, taking decisions the they wouldn't do in the first

An awesom experience with a game that in many ways almost trancends computergaming (Ellie playing an acoustic version of Take on me, and it happened in a computergame folks, come on!) I had no problem with this not being a 100% Ellie/ Joel story, I got to like playing as Abby, and came to actually fear losing both of the two protagonists in the end. Il’l admit that I found some of the ex firefly characters less interesting, and the story could have been shorter overall, but then again knowing that it will probably be about 7 years before I get to play in this world again, I chose to just enjoy it all and be thankfull.
    Listen, I grew up with the Commodore 64 and the Amiga, and to witness how far cpu games have come with this game is just mindblowing. I experienced every feeling playing as either Ellie og Abby, fear, anger, Sandras, joy, awe, happiness, relief etc. Very few games can give you that, if any. And I havn’t even mentioned the incredible visuals, the beautiful music and the rest of the technical aspects of the game itself, the controls, the AI, the UI etc, all working almost flawlessly. I have no hate for this game, no hate for its characters (for those who don’t believe woman can be build like Abby, wake up and smell the crossfit sport) and no hate for the fact that eventhough at the core of it all, this is Ellis story, it’s also Abbys and what a story it is!    … Expand

    Amazing, honestly despite everything I gave this game a go and was 100% not disappointed. I personally think this is the best game ever made, not to say it's my favourite but it definitely is close.

    Absolutely loved this game. Enjoyed the story though some questionable decisions were made. It’s great and loved the story continuing, look forward to part 3 ;)

    A wonderful game, so strong and amazing that in the end it will defeat all the hatred that people directed at it. It's unavoidable. For all its shortcomings, TLOU2 has the main advantage - it is one of the best sequels of all time.

    This has to be one of the best written stories that I've ever experienced in a video game. This is much more than a game. It's DEEP! The action and the gameplay overall are also excellent.

Конец противоречивый, он мне не понравился, так же не понравилась игра за эбби, я хочу играть за элли, мне вообще все равно на эбби и ее друзей, я хотел отомстить за джоэла и это чувство мести меня не покидало. Теперь про sjw, он есть, особенно когда доходишь до момента с уходом лева (лили) и понимаешь, почему его ненавидят. Интересно, зачем вы добавили еб*учего транса? Больше всего хочу, чтобы вышла третья часть или чтобы переписали сюжет, когда может быть выйдет ремастер на ps5    … Expand

This game is incredible, the characters and the story are of incredible complexity, so complex that this is a story with no sides there are no villains or heroes in The Last of Us 2, sure everybody likes Ellie and Joel but but Joel is not an innocent soul in the Last of Us, he kills and tortures people with no remorse or regret even people that didn’t deserve it, in The Last of Us 2 Ellie murders countless people in order to kill one person, while Abby did kill Joel, for the entirety of her gameplay she is risking her life to save others, I think that The Last of Us 2 is a story about consequences, Abby loses all her friends and the love of her life for killing Joel, Joel loses his life for murdering countless people and Ellie loses all she had forgoing after someone that spared her twice, I’m only 14 years old and understood this game a lot better than a bunch of adults that think that every story has a happy ending.… Expand

Our beloved characters get completely destroyed, Joel because he gets disgustingly killed and Ellie and Tommy because they become human scum. All to make Abby, the disgusting killer of Joel look great. Ellie murders dogs, Abby pets them and plays with them, Ellie Kills pregnant women, Abby Let's them live. It's so extremely obvious what the developers tried here. Love Abby and hate your old beloved characters. Absolutely disgusting. Joel's Death is the cheapest and just worst death i've ever experienced in a game. But the worst Part was that half of the game we are forced to play as Abby. You absolutely notice that this Game is Made to spit old Fans in theface. Never felt so **** playing a Video Game. Graphics are great, Sound ist top notch, gameplay is pretty improved compared to the First Game, but Overall it's a Bad experience. Can't recommend it to fans of the First Game. Naughty Dog should be absolutely ashamed. This franchise is dead now, at least for me.… Expand

The gameplay has changed a lot with new zombie types, smarter AI, A prone and jump button, new weapons, and new stuff to craft. With all these changes the gameplay is significantly better than the first one and was A blast to play. The graphics are honestly probably the best graphics on the ps4 besides detroit become human. The story was pretty good but could have been better. Joels death was not done right and completely forgets all the rules of survival in the first one with trusting strangers and telling them everything about you. There was an unnecessary sex scene with abbys story. However the game does a good job at humanising abby and her friends. It makes no sense to say Abby is poorly written because Eliie and Abby have the exact same motives and Abby redeems herself by the end of the story. The lesson of the story is revenge only makes you lose stuff and does benefit anyone including yourself. I feel like at the end they should have given the player a choice between killing Abby or letting her go because both endings make sense. This game also has amazing voice acting. I hope it wins game of the year.… Expand

    TLOU2 is the sequel we needed. Complex characters dealing with complex situations and emotions in a brutal world that is expertly realised. Acting, writing, tech, cinematography, gameplay - all exceed and improve on those of Part 1. I can't wait to see what the next journey Naughty Dog takes us on will be.

The game takes all that is good from the original game, my favourite game ever, and improves on all of it. The gameplay was really good and not clunky like the first game which was great fun despite the technology limitations. The music, backgrounds and story are all so good and better than almost everything you can compare it to. Naughty Dog killed it again. It is an absolute must buy and IMO is the best PS4 game of this generation.… Expand

    Great game with insane love and detail put in.
    The gameplay and shootouts have been greatly improved which is great. Some parts take too long and story-wise it can’t compete with the first one. Over-all a thrill of a ride! Playstations 4 best looking game!

    One of the most emotional experiences in any video game i have played. There are no obvious heroes or villains in this world. Everybody has their own motivation for their actions. The game is about a cycle of violence which is very hard to break. The character detail and acting is a new level for video games. I do not get the hate for the game.     So, i've finished the game and it's... you know, kind of a hot mess. Great visuals, amazing soundtrack, a slightly upgraded from the 1st part gameplay that is getting a little repetitive towards the end, but since game is not 50+ hours long that's not a huge deal. And then comes the story. Oh boy, did they drop the ball on this one. The amount of silly, avoidable mistakes they made, makeSo, i've finished the game and it's... you know, kind of a hot mess. Great visuals, amazing soundtrack, a slightly upgraded from the 1st part gameplay that is getting a little repetitive towards the end, but since game is not 50+ hours long that's not a huge deal. And then comes the story. Oh boy, did they drop the ball on this one. Story is filled with plot holes, characters contradict their nature to fit author's narrative all the time, some to the point that they become so shallow you can see right through them. If you've ever read a fanfic or watched season 8 of GoT you'll get a really familiar feeling from this one.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics are simply amazing. The gameplay...wasn't much different from the previous one, which was good but it was for a PS3 game. They could evolve it a little bit more. That being said I was satisfied with it plus it had a few "chase" parts that were simply amazing. Now storywise...that was the big issue. The game had it's heartwarming scenes that we were expecting but it was a little bit lacking from the get go. On the first one you saw the characters develop and slowly care for one another. With this one you have mainly a revenge story. You also had more than a few subplots that in my opinion were not needed. The relationship with Dina could be more explored and developed I believe if they didn't spend so much time on the "bbg" of the game Abby. I really didn't get the same emotions for her relationship with Owen as I got from Ellie and Dina. And frankly how could I? All I knew about her was that she mercilessly tortured and killed one of my favorite characters. When I fought Ellie while I was controlling Abby I kept losing because I didn't want to kill Ellie. We could understand why she did what she did but they shouldn't try so hard to make us like her. The fact that we undestand why she did it doesn't mean we can forgive or even forget it an then go on ahead and root for her. As for the whole LGBTQ agenda that many are saying. You already have Ellie (and since you decided to give her a love interest, Dina) which is nice. They are fleshed out charactera that their sexual preferences doesn't dictate their whole character. But when you meet Lev (who personally I liked as a character way more than I did Abby) it feels a bit forced. His whole story arc ia because he is (biologically speaking) a woman and as a result he suffers for it. And finally the end...well I really felt like I played for nothing. Abby got to live with Lev (most likely they went to the Fireflies) and Ellie got what? She lost Joel, she lost Dina and JJ. She lost her ability to play the guitar and express her emotions that way. So...why did I played through that story? Really unsatisfying ending. Tommy got injured for life, he ruined his marriage and he didn't get revenge for his brother. And Joel died. So everyone we came to love and wanted to see again after so many years got screwed over pretty bad. In every sense and in every way. While the "villains" of the story got on top. Sure Abby lost her love Owen but she can rebuilt her life and find someone else. Lev lost his sister but he got another "sister" in Abby and both found a new life with each other and propably with the Fireflies. I know someone said that she was bit but she really didn't show it. Anyone who is bitten looks way worse and is suffering. Even if she was bitten that makes it an even worse end because she leaves with Lev...so what? She'll turn on the boat and eat him? Let's say that they HAD managed to make me like Abby. With such an ending I would be furious! Amyway, I know that a point this game and this story was trying to make was that as with life here as well things are not just black and white. Ellie actually did exactly what Abby did. But I really didn't need to see characters I loved this much suffer for no reason. There was no catharsis. Shame for such a great story to end up like that. My score is 6.4 (there are no decimals so 6) mainly because of the technical aspects of the game and for the really emotional flashbacks Ellie was having (both good memories and bad).… Expand

Also the graphics are amazing, great lighting and sound design. I personally also liked the story because it was very bold of them to kill off a major character like that. A lot of games don't do that because of the hate they're going to get for it, but that's what I like about naughty dog. They're willing to take risks. I thought the ending was good, not too Disney, i guess. I just really enjoyed this game and all the characters.… Expand

    I expected no less, wasnt dissapointed. The story is once again thrilling and the character development simply incredible. I've grown to like seemingly unlikable characters and to hate the others. Also the looks are astonishing. This is truly the peak of what the slowly retiring PS4 can do. My hat is off!

    Honestly, it was a terrible experience overall, I loved the first part but the narrative choices in this game failed completely. I found it left a bad taste from the first 10 minutes. It was hard to drag myself through and constantly found myself losing track because I wasn't interested. Only good part was the graphics.

The story tries to make us sympathise with a new character, Abby, whose dad was killed in the crossfire at the end of the brilliant game that the first one was. She gets saved by Joel, but ends up torturing him and kills him in front of Ellie, who now embarks on a mission. I felt that the new characters were weak, but Jesse became quite likeable, but Ellie's girlfriend seems unnecessary, being pregnant and being hauled along. Character development was bad, Abby's story was not good enough and a huge disappointment of a game, especially because of the hype, a brilliant first game and waiting around for 7 years. 1/10.… Expand

    A true Masterpiece, i literally just finished the game which i got delivered on 22nd of June, believe me this is a must play game, great gameplay mechanics, great visuals and great story. So glad that the folks at naughty dog didn't compromise great storytelling for fan service. I am very excited for this series to be adapted by HBO

The last of us part 2 es un juego que está muy bien desde la secuencia de Ellie se plantean las cosas bien y todo pasa por una razón , pero cuando se corta el momento del teatro para dar la secuencia de Abby todo se va cuesta abajo porque lo la mitad de lo que se cuenta en su secuencia no aporta nada a la historia únicamente está para que dure más , luego esta la parte de la granja cuando te das cuenta la cantidad de incoherencias que se plantean , como en la secuencia te enfrentas a una nueva facción porque si , se tenían varios escenarios e ideas ya planteadas en el juego para hacer una mejor secuencia final , para que para que almenos llegara a tener una mejor calificación y que se justifiquen estos 7 años de espera , el juego si es cierto que tiene varios aspectos positivos , pero hay una gran cantidad de cosas negativas que pasan que opacan a las buenas, tampoco entiendo el hate que se le hace al juego como si no fuera lo peor , cuando en realidad tiene muchas cosas positivas a tomar den cuenta… Expand

A game about love, loss, vengeance and finding humanity. i loved this game it shows that the world of last of us is a small world, i feel like it makes sense for Joel to die because the truth is he isn't a good person no one is in the world of last of us is, there are only survivors and when u survive in the world of last of us you survive at the cost of other people. many people are mad at the ending but its an amazing ending, because Ellie stepped up to be the better person even though Abby has done that a couple of time by letting Ellie live multiple times. People hate Abby's character but she is a conflicted character who is afraid of the idea of opening up. i feel Abby being Buff is a very smart decision from Naughty Dog's side as i feel like Ellie and Abby are two types of people, Ellie withered in sorrow and became a shell of her former self and Abby became stronger with one goal in her mind after her father's death and it was vengeance. Many people are angry over how Joel died and i think his death made sense as if it were for Joel from the first game sure he would have been able to see an ambush from a mile away but this Joel within those 5 years found his humanity started to trust people more. Life for Joel wasn't all about surviving its about making sure Ellie (his second shot at life) gets to feel welcomed, loved and cared, you cant do this without opening up. When you open up you start to trust people more and you are vulnerable. The ending in my opinion is magnificent, Ellie forgives Abby and lets her go, like a good person, its an "Eye for an eye" situation, Joel kills Abby's father and Abby takes vengeance by killing him the fight is settled. Ellie forgives Abby thus ending the cycle. People were mad over the fact that "Ellie only realized vengeance is bad after all the killing she did", i see where most people come from, but its one of those things when you embark on this journey the final prize always seems glorious and worthy of the risk and to make things worse the idea of it only becomes better and better as time goes on but when you get their it aint worth it. overall one of the best games i have ever played. It also showcase how hate is very much a strong emotion how much it propels people to get what they think is rightfully theirs.     0/10. I finished the game in my mind. In the game you can’t play as Geralt of Rivia, fight NPCs with a huge **** rob banks like in GTA, in the game you can not watch anime and play DotA. We deserve better.

I don’t have any Prejudiced attitude mean thoughts about that, But it is very weak theme, topic or whatever it is trying to pretend, for 30 hours of really nice gameplay, But Without a well-thought-out, not far-fetched plot, with a frankly indifferent attitude to characters whose actions contradict, with the beliefs, characters and motivations described earlier, told at the highest level in the first part of TLOU.

    It is not a continue of a great story. It is not TLOU2. Gameplay 910 and 0/10 for other sides.

That would be the only thing that would get Ellie on a revenge rampage... it makes sense, let’s not forget that they killed Sarah in the first minutes of the 1st game in the most beautiful game scene we ever saw/felt! That being said, I have one problem with it: The Chronological jumps to show the players the story! The producers used these flashbacks to make us feel how they wanted us to feel, like now we want u to feel nostalgic, so there is a Ellie and Joel scene from the past. For me they should’ve played everything in Chronological Order, that way we would be able to see Joel and Ellie relationship get stronger and then bad when she found out the truth of the 1st game, and in the mist of it the cataclistic event that pushes the game forward. Then Abby and Ellie switches should happen in the same day, like Seattle 1 with Abby, then Seattle 1 with Ellie.. because the way it is right now, when you play Abby, this long time feels like its a different game and and a different story, and you kinda feel it disconects from the main story and then they patch up at the end! If they changed the order not only of the main levels also for most of the flashbacks they would delivered better the same powerful story that really connects from beginning til the end!… Expand

    Technically it's the best game I've ever played. The gameplay is very much like the first but it's a lot smoother and more deep than it was before. It's disappointing that each character still only has one animation for each thing that they do but it still feels really satisfying to do it. The game also looks amazing, it's up there with God of War and RDR2 as the most beautiful games I've ever played. The atmosphere at times can be truly terrifying, and the violence can sometimes be so brutal even i go "holy -" I think part of their goal was for the player to get sick of the violence and it really did that for me. Druckman said the game wouldn't be fun but engaging and that's how I felt playing it pretty much the whole time. The more wholesome parts of the game really warmed my heart as a huge fan of the first game and I also got to experience that unrelenting violence and terror all over again in a new game. I'm really pleased.

    As far as the story, it's great. It was a lot better than some people will give it credit. It's like when the leaks happened people just jumped on the hate train even if they weren't really that upset and are just making sure that people don't enjoy the things they want to enjoy. Those same people expect Ellie to still be a 14 yr old girl at heart even though her chances of being a cure for mankind have come and gone, which would be devestating. And they think Joel is an invinsible brick wall with no emotions, even though they've never seen him in an environment where he's not thinknig about survival 24/7. In the end I got all my questions from the first game answered, and that's all I really asked for. The timeline and pacing of the story was really engaging and I liked the way it was executed.

    All in all this game has taken a spot in in my top 5 of all time, and I can't gush about it enough. You should definitely play it yourself if you haven't, because I'm sure 90% of the people giving it poor reviews have no plans on even buying it. Definitely try it for yourself, I think you'll like it.    … Expand

    I have never felt so depressed playing a game; i definitely undersrand now what Niel meant when he said we might not like the game. I understand being upset at some plot choices in the game, but for me it definitely deserves the overwhelming amount of 10s

The game really shows Ellie lust for revenge for killing Joel and all she lost just to get her peace and at the end not killing Abby because she knows killing her won’t make a difference. The ai is phenomenal is how killing one person can make the other scream out there name. The story is long so it’s worth the money I paid, but there have should have been two campaigns for Ellie and Abby or a dlc for Abby but keep why Abby killed Joel in the game And make Jessie a bigger character like a flashback where it’s a important moment with Ellie although very good game can’t wait for the next one… Expand

    Graphic and technical gameplay are good but for me these are not enough to make it a good game. Really boring...

    One of the most incredible stories I’ve ever experienced. It’s bold, challenging and thrilling. Amazing characters - both returning and new - and brilliant voice acting. The gameplay is both familiar and yet vastly improved. It also looks absolutely beautiful. Thanks to Neil and the team for giving us this.

    Great story even if it jumped around a lot with flashbacks. Just as challenging and scary to play as the first one. I don't know why this game is getting grilled so bad besides butthurt trolls. I really hope they make a third and I cannot wait for the tv series.

For example the pacing in this game is bad and, for me, the most enjoyable parts of this game were with Ellie. Considering that she is only half of the game that is big. Before buying the game I emphasised with Abby but during my 20 hour play through I became to HATE her. It looks like there is potential for another instalment in the franchise but I don’t think most gamers will buy it anyway by the time it comes out in 2030.… Expand

El juego es bueno si solo te basas en gráficos, accesibilidad, movilidad y esas cosas, por ese lado yo le doy un 10 pero la historia es algo que no me agrada, matan a Joel como si fuera personaje secundario y lo hacen tan forzado, tienes que jugar con Abby y es algo que no me daba ganas de hacer y desde ese punto se te quitan las ganas de seguir jugando, el juego pudo ser mucho mejor centrándose en otros temas.
    Joel en este juego no es el mismo que en el primero y hacen que parezca como un idiota, al final del juego castigan a Ellie dejándola sin nada y sin dedos y ni siquiera mato a Abby, si te ponen a jugar con un personaje tan odioso como abby y te hacen pelear en contra de Ellie por lo menos al final te hubieran dado la opcion de matarla y que todas esas horas de juego aburridas valieran la pena.
    Conclusion: Si quitan la parte de controlar a Abby y en el final Ellie la mata el juego se gana un 7, porque igual falla en otros aspectos    … Expand

You can see how much self centered and spoiled people are nowadays. People describe the entire story without understanding nothing about it. Always the same: "destroyed the characters", "doesn't do what fans wanted/waited", "too much political agenda"bla bla bla. First: the theme of the game is hate, revenge, ambiguity and consequences. But overall, how hate destroy people and those who surround them. So yes, the characters that we love from the first game were destroyed in terrible ways to show us the consequence of giving into such a negative feeling. Of course it was annoying playing as Abby after what happened. And that was the point. The team behind the game knew exactly what they were doing. They didn't try to make us "like" Abby, just to show us how similar she was to Joel and that the only reason we love him and hate her, is because of perspectives and proximity, not because of the people they are. Ellie sees that in the end, she sees in Abby and Lev exactly the same stuff that happened with Joel and herself. Speaking about the end, lots of people crying like spoiled kids, saying that they at least wanted to "choose". Undestand this: that is ellie's story, not yours, not mine. And guess what, ellie wanted to kill Abby too, she didn't forgave her and will never do. She just sees joel and herself reflected on Abby and lev, got maturity and decides that she doesn't want to be a person like Abby and Joel, who put their egoistic feeling (whether it be love or hatred) in front of their own humanity. After all, that was all the problem between ellie and Joel, she couldn't accept that he did the terrible thing he did in the end of the first game just because of the feelings he had for her. Joel was a monster who tried to redime himself through Ellie. Same way Abby became a monster in her path of vengeance and tries to redime herself through Lev and Yara. Ellie just realizes that cycle and decided (unfortunately too late, maybe) that she didn't want to be like them. The game is uncomfortable, maybe even frustrating sometimes, bitter. But that is perfect to make you feel like Ellie and Abby do. You can feel how tendentious we are, here, in real life. And for that, we can realize that in those circumstances, most likely we would do the same terrible things those three characters did. The game speaks a lot about ourselves, our egoistic tendencies. It's a honest mirror, and maybe because of that, so much people can't stand it. Finally, about the political stuff in the game, it's ridiculous that people here say that "game is not place for that". Game is, before everything, art. And there is no better place for questioning, representing and expressing opinions than in art. That's why art stands for. And of course, it includes above all the political themes since they are so important to people and society. To me, the best thing about this game is to throw in our faces the clear message: Things you like are not necessarily good or better, and things that you dislike are not necessarily bad or worse. In fact, good or bad depends all of perspective. It can seem cliche message for a well lettered and reasonable person (rare stuff nowadays), but the geniality of the game is in letting us feel our annoy and anger while playing as abby, feel our frustration with ellie letting her alive. Just to realize later how hypocrit we are for feeling those feelings, since Joel and Abby did almost the same thing (he did worse, actually) and Abby left Ellie alive TWICE, even after she killed all her friends and the person she loved. All that said, the game to me is obviously a 10, because I love art pieces that are capable of making me questioning myself in a deep and honest way. But if you are a spoiled person incapable to do so, or if you just seek for uncompromised entertainment, tham I say to you: The Last of Us Part all is not for you. And the developers made it very clear since the beginning.… Expand

    This is by far the most emotional game i have ever played. The pacing and storytelling is bold and i admire what ND did with the story. My only problem is the game is still a videogame and it makes for a Grim and dreadfull experience to play this again.
