    I just finished the game 5 hours ago and i didn't want to do this but i need to say it. Man, if you are thinking of buying this part ll and you loved the first game, please don't. It's not worth. They just **** in all what we loved of The Last Of Us. I'm really disappointed. There'll be no way to see Naughty Dog and Neil with the same eyes I used to.

    The Last of Us vuelve luego de un final cerrado. El primer título de la exitosa serie de Naughty Dog había dejado a los fans encantados. Pese a no ser de los mejores juegos, la historia había conmovido a más de uno. Y aquí nos encontramos con su segunda entrega, ¿tiene algo que contar? Realmente no. Y lo que intenta contar, lo hace de manera incorrecta.

    Recordemos que el primer juego ya tiene más de 7 años y no ha envejecido del todo bien. Sus mecánicas para la época eran decentes sí, pero no más que eso. La ambientación e historia siempre han sido la única real excusa para siquiera pensar en jugar The Last of Us. Y esta segunda entrega entrega aún menos que la primera. Es, sin lugar a duda, la peor secuela en la historia de los videojuegos, aún superando al Duke Nukem Forever.

    Vamos a hacerlo corto, porque reviews del juego hay por muchas partes. Peor no hay una verdadera opinión honesta.

    El juego no merece, ni por casualidad, una nota de 8, 9 o incluso 10. Tiene muchísimas fallas para siquiera acercarse a eso. Pero menos tiene de 0, 1 y 2. Porque hay cosas que hace muy, muy bien. Y por eso se merece crédito. Para bien o para mala, aquellas cosas que hacen muy bien se ven completamente opacadas por lo terriblemente malos que resultan el resto de los aspectos.

    Esta continuación que ocurre 5 años después del juego original aporta absolutamente nada a la historia, hasta tal punto que si uno pudiese borrarse el recuerdo de lo que pasa en esta segunda entrega, estaría al día con el universo de Ellie y Joel.

    Lo único bueno del juego es la ambientación. Y con esto me refiero a banda sonora y gráficos. De lo mejor que van a ver los usuarios de PlayStation hasta la próxima generación, muy a la par de lo visto en Red Dead Redemption 2. Con respecto a la banda sonora, la ubicamos en algo "bueno" y hasta ahí.

    Y acá viene lo malo: la historia, la jugabilidad, la innovación, el mensaje y el juego en sí.

    Empecemos por detallar lo más básico que es innovación y jugabilidad. Con respecto al primer título, no vemos mejora algo. Para los tiempos que correntener que lidiar con la jugabilidad de esta segunda entrega es similar a un juego del 2015. Se siente viejo y lento. Demasiado violento. Intenta demostrar que "detrás de cada personaje hay una persona con una historia atrás que contar" y otro montón de cosas extra. Por supuesto que esto es mentira. Cada personaje no es único además del nombre que lo caracteriza. Cuando mueren, su existencia se desvanece por completo. Nunca más se hace mención de esos personajes, aún de los secundarios. Como mucho aparecen unas cinco veces en todo el juego y luego aparece Thanos, chasquea los dedos y las memorias de todos los aún presentes se deforman.

    Las escenas de sexo están de más. Simplemente innecesarias. Y las escenas de drogas, ¿qué sentido tienen? Es todo para hacer al juego un poco más "cool" de lo que no es.

    La historia sucede en un orden bastante interesante, digo esto porque parece que se organizó a último momento. Tiene toda la pinta que al atrasar el juego hasta junio de 2020, luego de múltiples retrasos y una larga espera, juntaron todo lo que tenían en una presentación de Movie Maker y se olvidaron de reorganizar la historia. ¿Por qué todo pasa en un orden tan poco único? Ya que menciono el orden, es importante destacar la tan penosa y descarada muerte de Joel. El personaje principal y más carismático de la primer entrega termina siendo aniquilado de la manera más humillante posible y durante las primeras horas de juego. No hay ningún tipo de cariño o recuerdo. O bueno, sí que lo hay... presente en forma de "flashbacks" a través de la secuencia de Ellie. No hay desarrollo alguno de los personajes, son todos planos.

    Por último, el mensaje que intenta dar "ojo por ojo, diente por diente y el mundo se quedará ciego" junto con "la venganza es mala". Es realmente lamentable. En ningún mundo Ellie dejaría, tras haber perdido absolutamente todo, vivir a Abby. Simplemente no hay mundo parelelo para permitir que esto pase. Recorrer todo un mundo, dejarlo todo atrás, abandonar a su hijatro y prometida, perder a Joel, todo por "sed de venganza". Venganza que no es cobrada. Y destacar que ella pierde dos dedos en el intento.

    Just finished the game. Was a bit worried with all the negative reviews. But in all honesty it was a great game. One of the best I ever played. I definitely think it was better than the first one.

    Low scores only because of story. As everyone knows they messed it up trying to keep it spoiler free. If anyone ever cared for joel in LOU 1. Then this game is disappointing its tragic to see such a beautiful franchise loosing its path. I personally feel the game missed a big opportunity in terms of story. They could have done a much better writing. The gameplay mechanics and graphics, aiLow scores only because of story. As everyone knows they messed it up trying to keep it spoiler free. It managed to make me be able to sympathize with Abby who I really wanted to hate. It made me realize that the only reason we took Joel's side was because we played as him and saw things from his perspective. I felt conflicted when Fighting Ellie as Abby and vice versa, because I wanted them both to be able to move on. I did have a couple issue though. Once we got to the climax, the story rewound three days. I wanted to rush through that part because I was dying to know what happened next. I also feel like since Tommy and Joel had just saved Abby's life, she should probably have even a little hesitation before shooting him in the leg and murdering him with a golf club. I also feel like she got a little too lucky with finding Joel almost immediately and having the perfect reason to lure him back to her group.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. para mi el juego es muy bueno y solo hubieron 3 cosas que no me gustaron, y creo que comparto las mismas criticas, la primera es la muerte repentina de joel fue demasiado forzada y de un chasquido muere paw, la segunda es que ponen muchas cosas inclusivas a lgbtq o lo que sea esa cosa y no es por ser homofobo giles y tercera por ultima cosa el final osea ellie abandona a dina y eso que vivia feliz con ella y su hijo a buscar a abby para matarla luego se encuentra con ella y no la mata wow que final mas bueno,,, me ha decepcionado naughty dog… Expand

    This game does a great job of making you see things from other perspectives. Everyone hates Abby for killing Joel but what Joel did at the end of the first Last of Us was worse. Abby killed the man who destroyed the best chance of getting a vaccine. Abby isn't perfect and there was no reason for her to torture Joel and she did some bad things in hers past as well but she is not the bad guy.    … Expand

    The story. The first half of the game is great. You have your mission as Ellie and you really feel what she feels. Then you get to the second part and if you are like me, you want to just throw the game out. But it was during that second half when I started to question myself, whether it is even worth to get our revenge with Ellie. And you realize, that this is what they were going for. To make you ask yourself, whether it is worth. The last mission was perfect for this. You really are in the position, where you are not sure, whether you are doing the right thing. The ending perfectly summarize all of yours and Ellie's feelings. It is not what we hoped for, but I think it is so much more. Every fan of the 1st game should give this a chance and to sit through it till the end. No matter the leaks, the flaws, or that you are not satisfied that Ellie did what she did in the end. I think it delivered bigger story than this generation of gamers can really appreciate by looking at the reviews. I know people have different opinions and that's fine. But we should try to look for the deeper meaning in the story, than just a dull revenge. We've seen this kind of story so many times. Naughty Dogs made something, that we were just not ready for and I love it. I don't regret a single minute spent with this game and I can't wait to play it again.

    For those of you who saw the leaks or stopped playing the game after the golf scene and think this game is **** Everyone loved Joel from the 1st game. Watching him die was a punch in the face. But it was not unexpected. At the end of the 1st game we killed the Fireflies. A group that was trying to save the world. That was a very bad move for Joel, even if it meant saving Ellie. So you could have guessed he will have enemies that are trying to get a revenge for that. When you watch Joel die, you feel the same thing as Ellie. You just thing it's **** and you want to kill them for it. But try to sit through it. I knew about the leaks, but I honestly didn't care. I knew they had their reasons for it and that it will be worth it. It was. Just don't play it like "This game is ****". Give it a chance and you may find yourself being grateful for doing so.     this game is so emotionally provoking and angering, and for some that's bad, but for me it made me feel closer to the characters and made me hurt when they hurt, and feel so in the game.

    Great and ambitious game that dared to tell a story from both sides of the coin. This is a direct continuation of the previous game, we play as Ellie and Abby (Not at the same time).

    Spectacular graphics, bigger levels to navigate through and explore and overall improved controls over the previous game, and the stealth is very good (But could be improved), also the sound design; ambiance, guns, monsters and enemies are over the top, alongside with very polished animations.

    Problems i had with the game:
    - Stealth while mostly good it is impossible to do a pacifist run because some levels are designed in a way that two guards dont move from the same position blocking the only way to the exit. Also non-lethal weapons are not existent (This is a problem for me since i like to not kill people in games if i have the opportunity)

    - Also in some levels even though you got pass all the enemies around they will get alerted because the only exit is blocked by a QTE.

    - The story structure; While at the climax of Ellie's story, there is an abrupt rewind where you play as the secondary protagonist to see her side of the story.

    - No skins / funny unlock-ables: Previous game gave you a few skins to have fun while replaying the campaign, almost all games that came from this company (Naughty Dog) have this feature (Eg: Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, Uncharted 4, The last of us), you could unlock in-game stuff like Models, concept art but nothing you can use in the campaign.

    At least you have new game+ with all your upgrades and weapons.

    No chemistry: Previous game had you sympathize with all its cast (Bill, Tess, Ellie, Marlene), while this game introduces many more characters to the cast you don't feel the same level of attention put into them, at least on the first half of the story, second half introduces a character from a faction known as "Scars" and i liked their part of the overall narrative.

    Definitely a game you should try at least once, but overall i did not like a few design choices, mostly stealth levels and sometimes i felt like the game dragged for too long, the story was interesting but overall it didnt captivated me as much as the previous entry.    … Expand

That moment was just terrible to happen in the game's FIRST TWO HOURS!. Moreover the "New" protagonists where poorly written in my opinion and Elie was treated very bad as a character.     Играется отлично. Графика, анимация, дизайн локаций выполнены на воистину выдающемся уровне. Мало кто способен выдавать подобные проекты, на ум приходит только рокстар. Огромное количество бесподобно срежиссированных катсцен, от которых отвисает челюсть. К сюжету и персонажам же напротив есть вопросы. Я понимаю, как это было задумано и как это должно    Делюсь своим "очень важным" мнением.

Многие моменты смотрелись бы лучше если бы их подали иначе (и я сейчас даже не о пресловутой "повесточке", которую я не буду выносить в минусы).
    К минусам так же добавлю продолжительность. К сожалению, геймплейная формула не предусматривает большой разнообразности и к концу пресловутые "арены" пробегал. Ибо надоело.
    В общем, как вывод. огромный респект команде разработчиков за столь шикарный и вылизаный продукт. Нилу Дракману же не помешало бы задуматься о способе подаче сюжета и вырезанию ненужной графомании.    … Expand

The character development is practically non-existent and Joel and Ellie's development is just GONE! The graphics are beautiful and the open world is very detailed, but as someone else stated, what's the point of amazing graphics with scrap story. Don't waste your money or time on this game. It's nothing like the original. Not sure why it recieved such high scores from critics.… Expand

People are rating it so poorly and I just don't understand. This game is fantastic and challenging. Not only does it challenge you emotionally with constant stress and the ever present fear of being captured or killed, but it challenges you morally. It opens up discussion of punishment and what people deserve for their actions. Did Joel deserve to die? Did Abby's father deserve to die? Not only those challenges but the game is BEAUTIFUL!!! Visually it is wonderfully made, the game level design is dynamic and detailed. The characters are fully realized. DID YOU KNOW EACH BAD GUY HAS A NAME!! EVEN THE DOGS! This game is so REAL! Its real and raw, its emotional and story driven. It is truly a masterpiece that will be the topic of discussion as a point in time that set the tone for future video games, just as its predecessor did.… Expand

El juego es excelente en casi todos los aspectos Tiene muy buenos escenarios y diseño de nivel la jugabilidad es genial pero tiene varios puntos negativos en el apartado de la historia por ejemplo la muerte de Joel pienso que debió ser más tarde en el juego y el final es un final triste y vacío que te deja un agrio sabor de boca pero que se puede comprender como el ciclo de la venganza hace que pierdas todo lo que amas y valores ellie por culpa de la venganza perdio a su familia y abby perdió a sus amigos y todos sus seres queridos. Un gran juego pero que no superara al original… Expand

    Top of the line gameplay, graphics, and story. The story may be controversial, but it all the more makes experiencing it for yourself that much more worth it. Never has a story emotionally impacted me more than this one. You learn and definitely feel a thing or two. Check it out and then decide for yourself.

    Naughty Dog delivered again. I always trusted them. The amount of effort that went into it is jaw dropping. So much detail, stunning visuals and a bold story, the latter being partially the reason why it is receiving so much divisive opinions. Yes the story does not go the way that people imagined or hoped it would, but that is what I love about it. It beautiful portrays the hellish reality in which they live. Their motives are scattered and they are lost. Ellie blindly seeks revenge in hopes that she can regain some normality only to discover in the end that revenge will not help her. The characters have become as wild as anyone else they face throughout the game. The different emotional elements the characters have to face creates so many layers of intrigue. You really start to worry for them and feel their dread. How they make you feel the world through Abbies eyes is incredible. It really shows you that living in this world is tough for everyone and not just Ellie. At first you despise Abbie but then you start to empathise with her and understand where she is coming from. This is not just a typical revenge story, their are so many different variables that make it truly fascinating. Everybody has a different opinion on this game and at the end of the day your opinion is what matters the most. And in my opinion this captivating journey, with it’s gorgeous scenery and super fun gameplay has been one of the Greatest games I have ever played.… Expand

First of all I think that the last of part 2 is one of the biggest masterpiecies of the entire decade. I think that the story might not be happy, but it is a huge huge success at telling a deep meaningful story of the humanity and the world that Ellie, Abby, Joel etc live in. What most of the people that disliked the game don't understand and it's really difficult to understand because the only way you can get the story is by knowing that it is a deep really deep meannig that other films and games have used in the past and this way they just underestimate the game. Like what humanity can do and what a person is capable of doing about something that is really meaningful for him.Ellie lost her "father" joel cause he couldn't live without her, let me explain.Joel could't let ellie die because their relationship was as powerful as his daughter's shara and because he lost his trust to the humanity because "humanity killed" his daughter indirectly and that maked him selfish and only caring about his life and nothing else that's why he has killed so many innocent people. I am not hatting Joel but I am just saying that he did many bad things and after getting his daughter back he started a new life and trying to be a better person and forget his past but it was too late to change his character and the thinks he did were not forgivable and what he trying to do was to just not let her go before him and he succeed in doing.     The game was all about joel and ellie interaction and we get joel killed at the beginning, which could happen in an apocalypse and after all the enemies he managed to get. But making us half the game play as a character which is hated by the vast majority of players who played tlou part 1, is just nonsense. There were a lot of decisions that could have been much better, this is a game that makes you feel out of character and like you don't even care anymore about what is going to happen in many parts of the game, and that, in a game that got most of its praise because of its amazing story, makes me think that this game was poorly written and badly executed.    … Expand

    I absolutely loved the first game. One of the best games ever made. However, this sequel is one of the worst games I ever played. Terrible story and mediocre gameplay. It is way too long, and says almost nothing. Just about every character is unlikable. I can't think of a single redeeming quality about this game.

    This game is amazing! For people that just read the leaks or just the plot, you will never understand the reflexion inside this story. The end is excellent amd the atmosphere is very immersive. The graphics of the game is the best part of this success with the soundtrack. Violemt,inntellect, I will wait for a 3 parts !!

The landscapes were also great. However, the fact of playing as Abby, the antagonist and character who killed Joel with a golf club, Is not so best option for the game. The redemption of her isn’t handled very well as we still hate her in the end. Once the game finished she didn’t even die which made it very unsatisfactory for its ending. The loss of a beloved character from "part one" caused a backlash from some of the more toxic fanbase that either quit the game at that point or failed to register the reason behind the test of the game. Overall tho I still had a blast ( for the most part) playing this especially the earl sections. A lot of heart and love went into this. Y el hecho de que Abby sea así de deforme no tiene sentido en este universo, no negamos la existencia de estas mujeres fitness pero en un mundo apocalíptico en donde hay escasez de comida de dónde carajo consigues los alimentos necesarios para tener un cuerpo así formado? Solo hicieron de manera forzada la típica mujer empoderada que va y mata a un hombre blanco heterosexual (Joel). Y ya sé que Joel merecía morir por lo que hizo en el primer juego pero Naughty Dog no tuvo en cuenta que él era personaje mas querido por todos los fans o la mayoría, y le dan una muerte tan estúpida, en los trailers nos mintieron mostrando que Joel iba a estar con Ellie (Escena del tráiler cuando a Ellie le tapan la boca y se da vuelta y mira que es Joel y él le dice "Creíste que te iba a dejar hacer esto sola?". Después resulta que esa escena sucede en el juego pero reemplazaron a Joel por el asiático, eso decepcionó un montón), ese fue el bait que nos hicieron, hacernos creer que Ellie y Joel iban a vivir otra aventura juntos como en el primer juego, esa mentira logró que varias personas compren el juego, después en el juego Ellie y Joel no tienen un solo diálogo a excepción de flashbacks, y a Joel lo matan en las primeras 2 horas de juego, se cagaron también en el personaje, alguien que no confiaba ni en su propia sombra va y dice su nombre a gente desconocida. Y este asiático resulta que dejó embarazada a Dina, una mujer judía. Igual después lo matan de una forma también estúpida y nunca más se vuelve a hablar de él, dejando a su hijo con una pareja lesbiana, una blanca y una negra, tremenda diversidad mal desarrollada. Un juego que se cagó en la historia principal solo para forzar una agenda feminazi, políticas de género, y dejar contentos a los tóxicos de las comunidades LGBTQAGSHKBSVMY. Todo gracias a Anita Sarkeesian, la femiestupida de mierda que arruina todo lo que toca, a nadie le agrada esta mujer, siempre veo que la critican. Y Neil Druckmann se puso en modo simp e hizo todo lo que ella quiso. I’ve never felt so emotionally attached to a fictional character, through any type of medium.. so I plunged into a hate filled lust for revenge as the game intended.. I enjoyed hearing of Tommy’s success and similar when playing as Ellie I could add to her list as the game went on. When Abbey showed up at the theatre I was gearing up for the final act, instead I was thrown into a whole new side mission (or what I thought was a side mission) until it became clear the narrative was matching the timeline though through Abbeys eyes! It took me a while to get to grips with this, as I was moulded into hating this girl for what she did.. the journey went on, and with a master stroke by the creators, indeed I did grow to enjoy my time as Abbey! In fact, probably even more so then I did as Ellie at times! As much as I hated to admit that at first! The game play, story line, and amazing mix of encounters as Abbey, was such a rollercoaster, and some of the best gameplay of the series so far! It turns out Abbey is the replacement for Joel you didn’t even know you wanted! She is brutal in combat, and an absolute powerhouse of ferocity! The (what I thought, again, was the final act) fight against Ellie, in the theatre, was one of the cleverest moments I’ve ever been witness to in a video game! It threw me back to MGS2, when I had Snake watching my back when playing as Raiden.. you got to feel/experience, from the outside, how badass this character is! I could hear Ellie healing, then I hear her dropping trap mines, and I knew how much of a fight I was in for! She was as formidable as she should be! No easy fight! With that, you’re thrown into a new world! Ellie seems like she has found her peace, and is living and dancing up a storm with her dream girl and their baby JJ! It’s such a nice moment, be it short lived.. I was ready for it to end, as much as I loved the game, I, like many, thought it was over! Then, AGAIN, we’re thrown another curve ball!! Back to ABBEY! This is the moment I chose to take a break and get to bed, and get back to it the next day! I jumped back in, and without taking long I’m finally given control of Ellie again, and with a fully loaded bag pack! This lead to one of the most fast paced, and exciting parts of the series! I chose to let loose and have a little fun with explosives and machine guns, and enjoyed every minute. The final final final act, a hand to hand fight with a gaunt and almost dead Abbey (equally almost dead Ellie) is capped with a massive choice that Ellie chooses.. forgiveness! She made a tough choice, but the right one.. she forgave Abbey, and in my opinion, Joel too. I wasn’t intending on a long review, but as soon as I got going I felt it a worthy few minutes to type this out. I’ve never been more engaged in a game, and I can’t wait to see what they do next, if they come back the franchise or not, I loved the series and I’m truly grateful for the wonderful masterpiece they gave us. 10/10… Expand

The devs have pushed the Ps4 to its limits and I was in shock and awe how great it looked. The story however is slow, full of many nee characters which dilute the game down so much. I didn’t really care about Dina or Jesses love triangle that was pushed on me. Boy oh boy, section two playing as Abbey was a snooze fest. Neil Druckman, I don’t care about two sides to the story gimmick. I savagely executed 100s of people in the game, who had no links to Joel and the only person you cannot kill the Abbey!!? Wtf

    The game’s storyline is poor and wasted. The game wants you to feel sorry for abbey and play to your conscience...yet forgets how many scars and WLFs you butcher...

It does make sense to have Joel die, and playing as Abby allows people to somewhat sympathize with her more, but I think that if they wanted us to care about Abby more we should have played her before Ellie, as well as the fact that that one line of dialogue where she is about to kill Dina saying, “Good”, was probably the worst planned parts in the whole game as it made people just despise Abby.… Expand

Tons of blood and death and pain, all for absolutely no reason, ultimately. The first game was among the very best I’ve ever played, on any platform. The sequel is probably the worst. I just finished the game today and it wasn’t until checking what the reviews were like this afternoon that I realised there was such a backlash. I have no idea why people hate the game so much. It’s genuinely awesome. The storyline was brilliant. The graphics are brilliant. The music is brilliant. The voice acting is brilliant. I get some parts of the story make you roll your eyes a bit but what video game doesn’t have some slightly strained plot devices? Yeah sure occasionally a character will do something a bit weird just to get the story moving along but it’s not a reason to give the game such harsh reviews. I can only guess people are upset that Joel dies so brutally and so early in the game but it’s just a video game for gods sake! Another guess is probably because there is a hench woman as main character working with a transgender character but so what? It was done tastefully and didn’t feel overly politically correct at all. My main issue was the searching for loot mechanic felt a bit tedious, running around rooms looking for bits got a bit dull but that was my only complaint.… Expand

    The last hour or so was not required for the game. It was a great game that should've ended where it seemed like a perfect ending. However, the lead up to the game is beautiful and had me at my seats. Can't wait to see what else Naughty Dog will bring down the line.

    Great game. I don´t understand that hate to Abby... She was a great character who was better person than Ellie for 100%. Eliie was acting like a child. Abby let her go 2 times. I see it like really stupid to hate Abby. Ellie was the villain for me.

    The story is a completely mess, full of holes and politics messages (Thing that every Gamer hates) The grafics and gameplay are fine, but the story that was the highest point in the previously game its a total dissapointment in this one.

Второй день я не могу отойти от концовки, такая она вышла эмоциональная, пробирающая до мурашек. Кто бы что ни говорил, эта история заслуживает внимания, и здесь важно переварить все произошедшее и взглянуть на события второй части под разными углами, не зацикливаясь на сами знаете чем, как бы тяжело это не было. Después de pasarme el juego y reflexionar sobre el, después de encontrarme con muchas emociones y sensaciones, debo decir que the last of us parte 2 es un juego bastante bueno, si bien es cierto tiene ciertas partes en la historia que molestan un poco como puede ser el hecho de que muchas muertes son demaciado simples o lo mucho que forzaron al principio la muerte de Joel.
    A nivel narrativo el juego es un 7.5 de 10, haciendo que la historia no dañe para nada el gameplay.
    A nivel artístico y visual es 10 de 10.
    A nivel de diseño de niveles 10 de 10.
    Banda sonora 10 de 10.
    Gameplay y mecánicas 8.5 de 10. Las Actuaciones fueron excelentes el juego te transmite muchas cosas, alguna vez una persona me enseño que los juegos no solo te deben transmitir sensaciones positivas, si no que también pueden llegar a destruirte.

    Beautiful game with an impactful story about the cost of revenge. Clearly so many of these 0 reviews miss the true moral of the story, which is that revenge is toxic and if you succumb to the desire then you will lose who you are. Brilliant and powerful ending.

    Amazing game. Graphics are stunning and the gameplay is brutally tense. It may not be for everyone, but I found the story to be harrowing, heartbreaking and poignant. Features incredible performances from the cast. It has stuck with me for days since completing it.

    Masterful storytelling. All those posting reviews on day of release clearly have not even played it. This is easily as good if not better than The Last of Us (part 1) and the game toys with your emotion the entire way through, finished this morning and instantly started a second playthrough!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me start by saying that you can not give a game a 0. If it is playable and you invest 18 hours playing it you have to be honest about it.

    -Graphics, Gameplay and Sound-

    The Good:
    They did an amazing job with the graphics, the physics are amazing and the mocap is incredible. You feel the emotions, pain and fear in main characters and also the AI.
    If this the way games are going to be in the future, I am very excited.

    Sound Design is also great with top voice acting and ambiance. The gameplay is improved this time a round. I liked the dodge system (unlike the RE 3) tough it made things a bit too easy for my taste.
    The feel and sound of the weapons are amazing. I love to grind and max out stuff so I had lots of fun doing that, But I can imagine that some will not find it innovative. I liked the upgrade system and it is very effective.

    Liked the fact that it was a bit open worldly, you can explore a bit and tough you only find some lore and items it was still fun to do and not as a time waster. Locations are detailed and the weather effects are amazing.

    Loved the Horror missions, tough too few and far in between, but for those who know I wish most of the game was like the Ground Zero mission.

    The Bad:
    The have achieved a mile stone with this game yet there some things that makes you wish the had put more time in de AI. In de missions that you are playing with a companion, the enemies are all blind to their existence. People are walking in the middle of the road and AI is screaming where are they?

    I played the game in Hard difficulty and after a couple of upgrades it felt like being Rambo running around stealth kill everyone. It still bothers me that a metal pipe breaks after four hits but hey on the other hand the melee weapons are way to overpowered, specially with upgrades.

    They game is too focused on the people and human enemies, I wish it was more Survival horror like the first game. I think I ruined for myself by grinding too much, there was not a moment I was out of ammo, I stealth kill a lot and the fact that Ellie has a knife makes killing clickers like they are normal infected. I did not feel the fear like the first game in my stomach after a while I was hunting them like it was nothing. Still I give the gameplay a high score, it is very solid and seamless.

    - The Story -

    The Good:
    None.

    The Bad:
    What a let down. I did not read or see any reviews and went in totally blank. I do not give a damn about politics, sexuality or having an agenda. I Just wanted to see what unfolds for two of the gaming beloved characters Joel and Ellie.

    Lots of people were turned off when Joel died, man o man it felt very senseless and pushed.
    It did not have the same effect on me when Joels daughter died in the first one. I think they took a big gamble on that and it failed. First thing I said to myself was, this a revenge story then.

    They should have build op tot that, it happened way too early in my opinion. I loved Joel in the first one and his killing was senseless, but hey murder is senseless.

    Knowing the social climate we live in (specially in United States), I was not to bothered with female empowerment message they are going for. I do not like the design of Abby yet I did not hate her enough to send death threats to the voice actress (what a bunch of yoyos).

    The focus was directly shifted to Abby, Joel is dead and what else can Ellie do except going for revenge. There is no depth in the story. The whole LGBT aspect of the game adds nothing to personality of the characters. After-all the game is about survival of the human race. Sexuality, gender and race does not add anything to the story in my opinion.

    There is not a shock or surprise moment in this game. You know and feel exactly, who will die and at what moment. A narrow opening to go trough on the end of the level, Ambush Time. You read some lore stuff about WLF and Scars but their motives are very straight forward. Everyone is walking around trying to kill each other for their turf.

    Ellie is killing everything and everyone, there is no element of real danger. I wished I could just hide and run a way to finish the game (you probably can) but the game just makes you kill everything.
    I was more shocked when dogs and horses died, than some characters in this game.

    I do not hate Abby. After Ellie killed a pregnant woman, I was done with her. What redeeming factor is left for her? You can not root for her anymore. I started bonding with Abby and her friends.
    Abby was even more remorseful than Ellie. I did not care anymore what happens to Ellie.

    Ending resolves nothing, you sit there thinking what the story teller is trying to say? Ellie as a character is destroyed. LOU Part 3 should just start with a new character or never come out. There is no reason to reply this game, no extra stories or multiplayer.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
