Excellent from start to finish. Such an emotional rollercoaster. Ellie and Abby are two sides of the same coin. Joel had such an impact on their lives in two very different ways.

IMO it's the one of the best game i have played in my life. Graphics, Gameplay were amazing and Story was not better than the first one but still Story was great. I liked the dark and brutal theme of the game. Still it's a solid game. Hope it will win Goty this year. Naughty Dog deserves it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This sequel made me feel like I was watching Game Of Thrones Season 8 again- an initially beautiful & strong story, totally trashed. And no- I am not hating "because my favourite character died", or that there was LGBT representation, or that Abby was "Swoll" (I wish i could throw punches like her). I am awarding 1 score for the graphics, and 2nd score for the game play. The story, its plot-holes and other nonsensical things (like PREGNANT women going to war or a woman being A FEW WEEKS LATE on her period, venturing into a zombie-infested wild country) get absolute zero. And a special ZERO for making us play 70% of the game with characters we didn't care about. The music is fantastic though, but that's not Naughty Dog's talent, so they dont get a score for it! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. They killed off Joel way to fast and painted Abby in a horrible light right off the bat. Half the game was from Abby's point of view and already having a bitter taste in my mouth for her, I couldn't really connect with her. I just felt mad playing Abby and going through her story already done with her. I think they needed to give us time to enjoy Abby and her story before it led to Joel's death. I would have been more conflicted with figuring out how to feel about Abby and would have felt more for her. Expand

I just finished the game and it was fantastic. I'll try to keep this spoiler free, the gameplay was fun and kept me on my toes and felt pretty realistic most of the time. The story was very good I still don't understand all the hate I really don't think it's deserves. I would say if you are on the fence give it a try.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I go in the game expecting that maybe its not as bad as every one says it is but sadly it is, for the most part at least ok first things first

    Good:
    Amazing Graphics
    Some cool game mechanics
    Good Soundtrack
    thats is

    Bad:
One if the worst stories i had ever seen
The gameplay its still the same there is barley any improvement to it
    Horrible Character Development
Questioable character treatments compared to his predecesor

the main problem of this game its story, it sucks it really really sucks, they killed a beloved character in the first 2 hours in a way that is laughable, this makes liking Abby almost imposible no matter what, she just killed such a beloved character from the fans that no matter what her story is, barley any one will like her, in order to not make this so long i will jump straight in to the ending where this game makes everything meaningless, the world of TloU its suppose to be cruel, cold and horrible Ellie was doing what she tough was right during the hole game, she and Tommy killed almost every single friend of Abby, witch makes her decision of of let her live completely stupid, the first game story was amazing, it didnt care what was the right choice for humanity, it didnt matter the life of those that wish to save others, it was a cruel and selfish act because thats just how the world of TloU is, to see Ellie falling into the path of vengance, of hate was going great, Ellie was starting to becoming a Cruel murderer that just wanted to take revenge for those who killed his "father" but in the end she lets Abby live for no reason this makes the entire game pointless, if Ellie woula killed Abby the story would be a lot much better, no, no just because "i hate abby" but because we woulda seen Ellie following the same path as Joel, killing Abby maybe it was not the right thing but she didnt care about that, she woulda transform just like Joel did in the first game, commit a selfish act just to feel better but in the end TloU just misses the mark, just missis the opportunity do deliver a cruel horrible story just like the first game and because of this the game fails

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In the genre of 'zombies' or 'Apocalyptica', the premise of killing off characters should never be off the table. It's this freedom that makes the consumer feel the intensity that these environments would realistically give.

In this case, the writers have fully exploited this trope. But now - it's you, the gamer, who has to carry out the plot. In the first bit of the game, you have to watch a yet unknown character brutally beat someone to death. Not only that but later in the game, you have to play as that would-be villain.

I think the best stories aren't just entertaining. They're also enlightening. This is an enlightening story. And by the end, I felt guilty and sad for Ellie. But that's OK. She's not real. But at that moment, the gameplay and story up to that gave me an opportunity to escape and feel for something.

I probably won't replay this game for a while. I didn't feel nice and warm in the end. But that's OK. And that's why I'm rating it 10/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Technically, it's amazing in terms of graphics, animation, environment, music and acting as expected of ND. Rope physics anyone?

Gameplay has seen some improvement from the first game but not too greatly. Addition of the rope and use of it to travel more vertical environments wasn't used more effectively. I was always pretty meh about the combat even for the first game, it served its purpose. The dodge did add some variety initially but it get a little repetitive, the lengthier playtime didn't help either. While the environments themselves look great, I felt let down by the lack of environmental puzzles. This was a gripe with the first game as well with how it kept using the ladders and garbage carts. ND has shown that they can do much better looking at their Uncharted series, so maybe it was a conscious decision to avoid being too similar or it wasn't a top priority for this game.

My biggest issue with the game sadly was the story and pacing. What drew me to TLoU has always been the story. This time I feel like they didn't do as good a job as fleshing out the new characters and the relationships. The first game featured a smaller cast of characters centered on the core characters Joel and Ellie. This really allowed us to grow closer to them throughout the game, and they were also supported by a cast of characters that I greatly enjoyed. This time I appreciate that they showcased a more diverse cast, but it also created some difficulty that with the time restraint most of the relationships were not able to be developed to the same extent. In the end I didn't feel much empathy for Abby or any of her friends, and Jesse and Dina were likeable but I needed more relationship development. All my favourite moments in the story were the ones between Joel and Ellie because it built upon an already existing and well developed relationship, while providing insight into the way it has grown and also strained over the course of the years. Their chemistry couldn't be beat by the rest. The new cast of characters had some potential but were not likeable or memorable enough.

It was interesting what ND tried to do in trying to make players think from different perspectives on our characters' actions and their consequences. It was a good attempt but was wanting in execution.

The way they tried to frame the story to push that Ellie was becoming the villain and that Abby had some good in her felt cheap and manipulative. In the way where when you are playing as Ellie they force you to kill dogs, murder a pregnant woman then when you play as Abby you play with the dog, save kids etc. (And then you rmb Abby tortures Joel to death with a golf club, and prob would have killed Dina who was pregnant if Lev wasn't there so welp) We can all see what you are trying to go for here but it came on too hamfisted. Even from the first game we knew Joel wasn't a good guy, and his final decision is controversial. But everyone could understand his motives because it was a very human decision that he made in the end. I could understand Abby's reason for wanting to kill Joel because it was a very human motive to want to avenge her father, but her character wasn't developed well enough for me to like her or be fully behind her. I will say though certain portions of the game if viewed as standalones disregarding the story surrounding it were very powerful and masterfully done in terms of atmosphere and execution.

Pacing wise the game was just too long. It felt really draggy at some parts and certain decisions on the way they cut the game was odd. It does seem like it goes again what was previously stated about not enough time being given to develop all the characters, relationships. Which is why to some extent I do feel like the main plot of this game should have been reserved for a third game, with the second more focused on introducing the new characters and maybe even introducing Ellie to them. It could have the potential to make us feel more conflicted on whose side we would be on had we the opportunity to grow closer with Abby's side.

This is kind of not related to the game but I have big issues with the way ND marketed the game after playing through it. I understand trying to hide major plot points of the game, other games and movies have also done this before. But tricking people into thinking Joel will be along with you for the journey, or basically hiding the existence of a second main character is like taking subterfuge to a whole nother level. I would even say it is basically false advertising.

TL;DR Technically amazing, lots of respect to the countless people who worked on this game. Improvements on game play were there but not too big. Dragged down greatly by the story that didn't live up to the first game. Story can be a downfall for a game, especially this franchise that was built upon having a great story in the first place. I will say that my scoring decision had a heavier weightage towards story because of this.

Still a brilliant game but not quite as strong as the first installment of the series. It makes some bold story choices which I've learned to accept and personally, I found abby's flashbacks added an interesting spin on the ending of the first game. I began questioning who was more deserving of seeking vengeance. I understand though why so many people are angry with ND's story decisions

Seriously go back to simplistic shooters where you kill faceless waves of nobodies. This game is for adults.

For those who understood and truly loved the first game, you have 3 The Last of Us Games worth of content when it comes to the gameplay in this sequel. Additionally, while the original story was more simplistic in its goals, and thus easier to be a simple success....TLoU2 attempts (and succeeds) at being a more profound story. Unforgettable, and hard to put down while you are playing.

This game is better than the first one in so many levels - emotional, visual, gameplay involvement. The game challenges controversial ethical choices, shows that there is no black and white, it is possible to be bad and good at the same time, to be right and guilty from different points of view, and that all actions have their consequences. Great story, great characters, great game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to give my 2 cents to the rating here, although I can't add very much new stuff. For me, it is truly a miracle how these good reviews came here. I had a very hard time finishing the game and no, it's not because of the violence, horror and also not because of Joel's death (everybody excepted him to die... but the way it happened was still to soon and illogical ). What Neil Druckman tried, didn't work for me at all. No matter how stupid and evil Ellie got, I was on her team (Loyalty and stuff you know). And in addition to that, Abbys Story had me hate her even more. I saw absolutely nothing nice about her or regrets. In the end I felt I wasted 25h of my life feeling depressed because I waited 7 years and even was looking forward playing the sequel and I really thought: naughty dog never let me down. They can handle Abby in a way I will understand. But no, just ruin everything you liked about the first part and write a story so that it makes you feel you are watching a soap opera. But a cheap one. Really? So many plotholes? Mixing the terms vaccine and cure to one so you don't understand what exactly joel **** up. Still don't believe a cure / vaccine by the fireflys would have been a good thing in this world... Also the map drop, countless surprises that don't develop... they just happen... ah I really don't want to think about it anymore. The other bad reviews make a good job already. The overall story, what it wanted to say in the end is good. Don't get me wrong. But while I was playing I did not understand how the decisions developed. And THIS IS MY BIGGEST PROBLEM. And a lot of people have the same problem. It's just not a smooth transfer from 1 to 2. Expand

For now, I’m gonna give you just a glance of what I mean by hope: In the beginning of the first game, the character Joel (who’s a man that completely lost his faith), after getting to know Ellie a little better, remembers of his daughter and, as their relationship starts to grow, Joel gets more human. That’s a detail that almost no one noticed but during the game, we notice that certain actions of Joel isn’t coherent with the character we see in the beginning of the game. For example, the Joel in the beginning of the game would never forgive Henry and Sam after they left both Ellie and Joel to die. That’s just an example, of many others in the game, that the relationship between Ellie and Joel is so Strong that had the force to make Joel human and happy once again. Of course the dangerous environment turns Joel into an insane man, but Ellie was capable to break his insanity and transform it into hope.

The last of us part 2, on the other hand, is a sad, pointless story, that was capable to destroy all the hope that was built in the first game. The game is about revenge, but there were so many ways of writing the storyline that I’m surprised things went this way. In my opinion, the character Abby is really important and has to be in the game, but not in this way. To sumarize, the story of the game could be: Abby, somehow getting to know both Joel and Ellie, and a little bit longer Jackson, starts to get to know them better and, without knowing Joel killed her father, starts to get close to Ellie, and a little later, to Joel. Abby notices that Jackson is a safe and beautiful place and, even though there aren’t many safe places left, Jackson is a place where hope remains. The fact that Joel killed Abby’s father would be unknown, even to the players, and during the game we would notice Abby starting to think and connect events related to her father’s death. In the end of the game, Abby would finally find out Joel was the one who killed her father. In this moment, we have a fight and Abby wins, but when she has the opportunity to kill both Joel and Ellie, she thinks about everything that’s passed during the game and the uncountable times Joel saved her. And that’s the moment she realizes revenge is a fool’s game and leaves. This sumarized story would not be the “happy story”, it would be the story that reinforces the hope that was so well built in the first game. I’m pretty sure the intention of Naughty Dog was to build the perfect the last of us part 2 because of what the game represents to so many people around the world. Unfortunately, the last of us part 2 doesn’t represent the first one and it’s definitely neither the game we wanted, nor the one we deserved.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First time writing a review for a game, and I’m doing because I feel obliged to do so after playing it twice. The way that Naughty Dog gave us a story that nobody expect it, and yet it maintains a brutal reality of the world, especially of a post-apocalyptic one where death does not only come for the “bad guy”, it’s just mind blowing.

The authenticity of the story comes in many forms, such as the typical immaturity on a teenager shown by Ellie, who reproaches Joel for taking away her chance to “matter“, failing to see the love he developed for her as a daughter and that he would have killed the world if necessary for his baby girl to live. But Ellie going to Seattle chasing the WLF members who killed Joel, and even going into a dark path of torturing people to interrogate (different than being violent in self defense for the necessity of survival), shows how much she loves Joel as a father, and how her love turned vindictive by Abby’s actions.

Or how it brings the matter of perspective as how each character could be a good guy when looking from their shoes and their motives when it comes to Abby. She just happened to be like Ellie, a girl who lost the person she loved and admired the most at the hands of a killer (Joel) who had to pay for it.

That story combined with the raw brutality and violence, and how ignorance and cruelty comes into play in the shape of cults and gangs, just make the game the best game I have ever played besides TLOU I. Thank you Naughty Dog for that story. I initially hated that Abby got to survive, but that’s just because I see and sympathized with Joel’s actions (I would murder all the Fireflies again for Ellie to live). I ultimately understand that her father was like who Joel was to Ellie, and that Ellie deciding to forgive her was part of her maturation process, that knowing why Abby came after Joel and seeing a depending Lev on Abby like she was on Joel at some point plus the flashback of Joel, made her at the last second forgive her.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In a community of multiplayer experiences and competitive gaming, single player/story driven games have always been my favorite. Of course, I have always loved diving into a game like Valorant or Overwatch or even a fun party game from time to time but story driven games will always have a special place in the world of gaming. Instead of being explicitly told a story, games allow us to come along for the ride. For The Last of Us 2, this is arguably for the worst. Although a technical and visual masterpiece, the story leaves the player manipulated into cheapening everything from the first game. The player is made to feel guilty for a murder that never was forced upon the player in the first game in the first place. Then the player is made to sympathize with a new character. I get it but I also don't care because the story is poorly paced and manipulative in how it portrays its characters. Ellie is demonized by the decisions you are forced to make and Abby never has to make said choices that would make the player feel conviction. It feels less like this moral grey area the writers thought they were making and more like forcing their feelings of the main characters onto the player. The writer's described their intentions as to "make the player question everything from the first game". This game made me really question every decision involving the writing in the second game. Neil Druckman and the writers really threw away what is otherwise a beautiful game with their heavy handed, shallow story telling that ultimately makes for an unsatisfying sequel. Expand

Yes, you are going to have mixed feelings during the story. It is a very tragic story with two point of view. One of the point of view (Abby’s) is rough to accept at the begging, but along the journey you will see how important it is in order to complete the message that the game want to send

Do not let that bad reviews influence in your decision of play or not play this game. I had imagined Ellie would get pregnant, baby would be immuned, Fireflies come for revenge but kidnap baby for the cure AND then Joel & Ellie would start the adventure! Then I reached the halfway point and was fuming! The shocker of having to play as the other character left me with a bad taste. I felt that maybe this was the reason people hated the game. But man as reached the ending chapters my emotions changed completely.

I avoided reading all the spoilers but really feel that the story itself was poorly organized and poorly executed. I feel that this would have been much better organization is you play as Abby up until the part where you venture into the theater. At that point, I would've done a flashback for Ellie where then you see why Abby is an important character and you seek your revenge on her. Then the game could have ended at the first visit to the farm and left it open to another full TLOU game to feature Santa Barbara. The SB party seemed unnecessary as it only shows that Ellie didn't forgive Joel for not letting her die, but it's done in such a poor manner in the game that I had zero emotional connection. The first LOU have such an emotional connection that I came in with high hopes. But between the organization and very well connections made, I felt almost nothing. Also, playing as the character who killed Joel made the second half of the game feel like a grind instead of an enjoyable play experience. Overall,
    1. The organization it the game makes the second half feel like a grind
    2. The gameplay was decent
    3. Poor decisions from the writers left me disliking the game as a whole and dropped the ball on making any emotional connection

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. IMO, people over exagerate on both sides. Yes, i agree the plot is not as good as the first one, specially if you put one against the other. I mean if you consider your expectations after the first game. And, truth be told, no one knew what would happen, right? the plot was really open ahead of us. the only plot hanging there was how and when Ellie would learn about Joel's making.
maybe that's why people are so mad about this one. They expected something else (me included, don't get me wrong) but, hey, it's not like this game is THAT piece of garbage as everyone's saying.
The major problem for me is that expectation hanging there.
If this was the first game of a serie it would be fantastic. that's why in my head i gave this one two separete ratings. For the game as a sequence it's 6 or even lower. It was a bold move, what they've tried on the plot, but bold moves can go wrong, and when they do it will probably be twice as catastrophic.
I hate how little they let us play as Joel, hate how terrible of a person they portraited Ellie in the game, hated how much they forced us to like Abby (I'M SAYING THAT EVEN THO I LOVED ABBY. They just didn't have to pushed the palyer so hard toward liking her. It wasnt subtle at all) and if it was a movie, the oscar of the worst editting would fit it perfectly. Swaping between Ellie and Abby was too much, and too often, etc. Thats the thing, again. the expectation. What we wanted to happen. And I'm not even saying dont kill Joel (or any other character) but it wasnt respectful. It wasnt well done. It was dumb. Like a n obvious excuse for the plot.
We had one game, one DLC and years and years of knowing and loving Ellie and Joel. I dont think anyone expected this, and I can'1t imagine anyone from Naughty Dog to think about this idea as good. (except "the head" behind it, probably)
IDK, i'm sad about the game. and not the sad I'd like to be if the story was better writen.
again, if it was a new IP, it would be an 8, maybe 9.
as the sequal to one of the best games ever, I can't rate it more than 7

This game is a technical marvel. Sound and visuals are impeccable. There are views that will take away your breath, and the characters move, sound and look like real people. The sense of atmosphere is jaw dropping. There are times you can almost taste the choking spores in the air, or feel the warmth of a setting sun on your face. This is a beautiful game.
The gameplay is good, with some basic puzzle solving and platforming thrown in to add a touch of variety, but the core is the fighting. Fighting the infected is usually a tense, nervous experience, while the fights against human opponents are some of the highlights of the game. There is a genuine sense of achievement from picking off a whole group while not once raising an alarm. And if the first game scared you, this too will be no walk in the park. Hail to the king (you'll know him when you see him). If any other publisher produced a game that looked/sounded and played like this, I'd have no complaints and would be happy to give it a high rating. But it's from Naughty Dog and it's the sequel to one of my favourite games, so there's more to be considered than the technical aspects.
So is this a worthy sequel? Does the plot honour the previous game and are new characters worthy of being talked of alongside Joel and Ellie? Yes. So much yes.
This game has baggage. It has upset some people. These people enjoy being upset. If you don't like "SJW progressive propaganda" or whatever, don't play it. It's not for you, but you probably know that by now. That being said, there are bad reviews that aren't from bigots and damaged man-babies. There ARE genuine criticisms to be made about this game. I am not saying everyone that disliked it should be ignored. No piece of media can please everyone. This is an experience that will divide opinion.
I loved this game. But it is emotionally draining and incredibly unforgiving. Joel and Ellie have changed with time, but they're still the characters I loved in the previous instalment. They do things that are stupid, self destructive, selfish, vicious and illogical. And because they feel like real people, you can see why they act that way. Life isn't always logical, and they are living in a strange time with pressures we can't even begin to understand. And the new characters we meet stand up to comparison with those in the previous instalment. There are truly evil villains, heroic allies, new groups, tribes and gangs. Even the infected get a few tweaks. The new characters that have elicited most of the hate are far more complex and nuanced than the naysayers will admit. I ended up caring for them just as much as the more familiar "goodies". And as the story progresses and only one ending seems possible, the dread and horror that something you don't want to happen is inevitable is something I've never felt from a game before.
This is a rambling, waffle of a review, but I only finished the game yesterday and there's still much to process. When everything was over I was a bit of a wreck. I'd cried, sworn and got quite vocal about the actions that were being taken. I've never shouted at game characters before. THAT is how much I cared about these fictional folk.
The game has flaws. It isn't perfect. But if you buy into the story, if you care about these people, the game isn't really the point. I can't be objective about this experience. No game has effected me as much as this one. The importance of what is achieved and what it makes (many of) the players feel counteracts any of the flaws. No other game is like this, and frankly that's probably a good thing. I couldn't go through this on a regular basis.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Emotionally Draining - In a Great Way

Anyone familiar with the first franchise entry won’t be surprised that The Last of Us Part II is not a game that’s going to leave you feeling upbeat and chipper. Make sure your emotional bank account is good and ready for the beating it’s about to take before jumping into this game.

Violence, drama, and more violence. That’s most of what this game is, but just like last time around, Naughty Dog doesn’t lean into violence for the sake of being violent. They use it to illustrate and enhance the intensity of a world turned completely upside down, and to take us on another journey through that bleak and brutal world.

The narrative is different this time around. We already know the world, we already know the infected, and we already know the original story of Joel and Ellie. Part II takes us on a continued, yet distinctly separate narrative journey. The Last of Us Part II deepens our relationship with Joel and Ellie while adding the emotional complexity of a new cast of characters. By design, the game shows a different side to the original story while also expanding into entirely new territory.

The chronological ordering (or lack there off) to how the story is told can be somewhat jarring at times. Ultimately though it does serve to make the narrative delivery more suspenseful and dramatic. Some of the flashback scenes felt a little slow compared to the pace of the rest of the game, but many of them did add useful layers of context and drama.

The mechanics are subtly but nicely improved over The Last of Us in nice ways. Dodging and evading feels like a more realistic way to engage in melee combat, sneaking is more nuanced now that you can go fully prone, and the ability to visibly listen to enemies takes time to improve. The gun mechanics leave a little bit to be desired, but the melee mechanics more than make up for any gaps. The brutality and fluidity with which you can mutilate just about anyone and everything is superb. And the accompanying graphics and audio couldn’t be more raw.

Overall, The Last of Us Part II leaves you never quite knowing how to feel. The weight of every major moment in the game is successively more and more heavy. It truly is a proper “Part 2”– the game picks up where the original left off, gives us more of we loved, but brings in enough “newness” in terms of narrative and the overall story to stay supremely compelling throughout the entire journey. If you want a game that will force you to feel something, The Last of Us Part II is a must play.

I usually don't write reviews but I had to come here give my opinion.

I get that maybe this is not a game for everybody, but still is a great game, all the tecnical achivements, the direction of scenes made the game look like a movie. I personnaly loved it, I never felt what i felt while playing this game: anger, confusion, fear, remorse etc. I sincerily think this is the second best

I remember the launch day of the original The Last of Us back in 2013. I came home from school, bought the game and was so excited to play it. I remember the launch day of the original The Last of Us back in 2013. I came home from school, bought the game and was so excited to play it. From the opening first 20min the game had me and when I beat the game I was in love with the characters, the story, and the world. 7 years later and I still love it and I was so excited about Part II.

Just like the first game, I downloaded Part II and was waiting for the game to unlock on my PS4. The game unlocked and I was finally playing the sequel to my favorite game of all time. I was so hyped and was so happy to be back in this world with these characters. The game looks so great and is probably one of the best looking games of all time (next to RDR2). As the story progressed I was happy to see where it would go and then it happened. The unforgettable act took place and I had no idea where the story was going. Based on the trailers I thought I knew where the story was going but I was wrong.

I accepted what happened and was dying to see what happened next. I played the story over the course about a week and was caught off guard so many times by the story, especially with a huge surprise half way through the game. I found myself rushing through the second half and stopped myself when I noticed. Upon completing the game I was unsure what I thought about the game. I LOVED so much about the game. The gameplay and combat is Naught Dog at its best! The animations is top tier and the acting is the best I've seen in a video game.

I thought about this game for days and finally realized that I actually really appreciate what NG did with the story. They could have done it safe and predictable but they didn't. The arc that Ellie and other characters go through is great. 90% of this game is about revenge, yes. However, the last 10% is a about redemption and forgiveness. While this game may not be what some fans expected, I feel this game will be remembered as revolutionary and ahead of its time a year or two down the road. I can't wait for my NG+ playthrough to see everything I missed during my first playthough.

    My final score: 8.5

Do I even need to say something?
The game is absolute Hippocritical and creates characters that are nothing like the other game.

This game isn't perfect. But it's close. I didn't like the controls when combat got busy, and the graphics on certain characters didn't seem to be as high quality as the main cast.
The story, however, was fantastic, as to be expected. A few hiccups and one or two spots when I might've scratched my head a bit, but nothing to jarring. Not sure when I'll play it again, but I definitely will.

Outside of a few pacing issues, this game is *chef's kiss*. People trying to say the story is bad...just because you don't LIKE the story, doesn't make it objectively bad. It's meant to be miserable and devastating. That's literally the point. Stop being so irrationally angry over a video game that you would send death threats to people involved in the making of it.

When it comes to graphics and gameplay and overal quality I love the experience. The story has got some very strong parts but I've got a problem with the lack of choice you're being offered as a gamer. At all key moments in the story the only way to move forward is Naughty Dog's way. This makes the story completely linear. You can clearly tell some of the people making the narrative decisions have an overly strong Politically Correct/ Woke view on life and society. With other media like film it's easier to accept or just reject a certain point of view, especially if you don't appreciate the quality, style or story. I would never watch the all-female Ocean's or Ghostbuster **** shows. Mostly because the quality just isn't there.

TLOU2 is different. The story in my opinion is both hit and miss. If gamers were given choices at key moments, this game would have been a masterpiece. Despite the fact Naughty Dog has eliminated the option to choose completely the game is still very good and at times great. The very best developers like Rockstar and CD Projekt Red understand that simple yet important aspect. I think the people at Naughty Dog could have made a Masterpiece with as little as two moments where the gamer is given an essential narrative choice. Because they have failed to understand this or were to stubborn to offer the option TLOU2 has become more controversial instead of their greatest hit.

Gameplay is top notch and, while the story is very grim, the performances and characters carry it. If you know anything about this game, you’ll know it’s extremely decisive. The biggest factor on whether you’ll like this game is if you go into it with an open mind and let the game ask you some uncomfortable questions. P.S. I almost took a point off because I **** hate killing the dogs.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us II is the masterpiece of noughty dog, technically the best ever, the graphics are absolutely a beauty for the eyes, the story is narrated perfectly, and most of the criticisms go only to the death of Joel or for Abby's involvement, well if you think in this way, sorry but you have not understood anything about the game or what Neill wanted to give us, thanks Neill for giving birth to one of the most beautiful games ever, before criticizing Gioacatelo and give one sensible criticism at least! Amazing graphics and music, ok gameplay, terrible pacing in the story. An honest score would be like a 7/10 but i'll give it a 10 just to offset the review bombing trolls.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
