    I loved this game. Although there are some issues such as having to play as abby at some particular moments, this does not fully affect my experience. I was engaged form start to finish and had no problem with how the story played out. personally the ending allowed Ellie to forgive Joel. Although the game took a different direction then people maybe expected, I still thoroughly enjoyed theI loved this game. I'm 32 yo I'm a gamer since I was 10, and I don't think this is a good story, they make you get so angry at Abby and then they make you play as if you were her. I understand the message here but you can't simply be sympathetic with her because she was so cruel with Joel just for revenge. Ellie's story is very different, Joel looked at her as the daughter he once had, furthermore he cared about her more than itself and he protected her from the fireflies. On the other hand the Abby's dad did not even answer if he would sacrificed Abby for saving humanity suggesting that he would never do that (obviously). There are many differences in both stories, and I totally refused to play as Abby.
    I played part 1 and they made a connexion with me, now what I feel is a total aversion for this game, I feel I lost my money because I don't wanna play as Abby and I never will, and that's a half game. To make things worse, when playing as Abby you fight back with Ellie and you have to win, that´s sh...t (sorry).

    For a movie maybe this plot is fine, but not for a game where you project yourself in a character, ND did not understand that and now I have a game half played, and a total reluctance to buy part III or a DLC (if ever exists) or see the sitcom.

    Esse jogo é Horrível e violento e tenso e intenso e maravilhoso e real, bonito, feio, aterrorizante e encantador, real, humano e EXCELENTE! Mas com um final meio ruim, mas n merece todo esse Hate, é sim um jogo incrivel só pelas horas de Gameplay e a tensão adicionada ao enfrentar infectados já me agradam!

    A vengeance story done bad. Storyline repeats itself and completely misses the point. Other than that the atmosphere, graphics, cinematics and editing are top notch.
    ps: If this game was an interlude of some sort, or a prequel/sequel some far off timeline with different characters, ppl would embrace this game with open arms.

Как и было с первой частью, финал этой игры также оставляет весьма неоднозначные ощущения, однако вряд ли я скажу, что она лучше первой части. Они сильно поменяли уже известных персонажей, а новые слишком слабо проработаны, хоть на них сильно сместили весь основной акцент, что как по мне было ошибкой, и их сложно полюбить так же, как и старых. Тем не менее, сюжетные сцены, впрочем как и вся игра, проработаны невероятно красиво и не могут порой не вызывать сильных эмоций. Даже когда убили абсолютно бесполезного персонажа для сюжета это все равно пробивало на некоторые, пусть и слабые, но эмоции.
    У авторов свое видение мести, многие его не будут разделять, но я всё же вижу некоторые предпосылки такого финала, и не был категорично против такого исхода, но меня ужасно раздражает эта какая-то неудобная незаконченность. Они оставили абсолютно незавершенной основную линию игры, не объяснили дальнейшую судьбу ВООБЩЕ всех героев, зато бесят своим символизмом(ну реально перегибают). Это ощущение незаконченности и есть основная проблема сюжета, из-за которой очень сложно было дать окончательную оценку игре.
    И все же, несмотря на мою практически разгромную рецензию о сюжете игры, я , в отличие от абсолютного большинства критиков данной игры, которые не могут увидеть в этом произведении искусства ничего, кроме феминизма и прочих известных тем, могу воспринимать эту игру более-менее объективно со всех ее точек зрения

    Геймплей 10/10(ну разве что стелс кому-то может показаться однообразным, но мне все время было интересно и, в отличие от первой части, никогда не надоедало)

    Возможно игра и заслуживает меньше, около 8, но у меня просто не поднимается рука поставить ниже, ибо это первая игра, в которой я так много времени просто бесцельно ходил и рассматривал каждую деталь и мелочь игры. Виды у игры все же красивые. Я понимаю, как разработчики трудились, как душу вкладывали в свое творение, и просто из человеческого уважения к разработчикам, которым сейчас определенно неприятно осознавать провал этого грандиозного проекта длинной в 7 лет, я поставлю 9    … Expand

    After reading some spoilers from the leak before release, I wasn't even going to buy the game. I read reviews from people who couldn't have finished the game, there were 100's of them all before 12 hrs after release.     All I can say is people are dicks, this is a game of a generation, what Naughty Dog have done with the ps4 hardware is nothing short of magnificent, it is one of the best looking games ever produced on any platform.

    I am a pc gamer with an rtx 2080ti and have seen nothing like the quality of this, how it has been done I have no idea.

    If you liked the last of us, you will love this.

    People have picked holes in the story, review bombed it, made it sound like it's a woke, transgender fan film.
    The story is deep, thrilling and engaging and none of the above. it's smart, slick and thought provoking just like the original.
    I can't tell how much you need to play this game, if you haven't already.
    I think it would be impossible to get the same reaction as the first game as it was so original and caught many, including myself unawares and blew us away.
    We all expected so much from Naughty Dog this time and they have not let us down.    … Expand

And that's how I felt in the beginning too. When I got to the part where they killed Joel off, I wanted to smash my new TLOU2 themed controller. Turned off my console immediatly as I was pissed off as to why they would kill off one of the best characters so unceremoniously. I also kept thinking that walking into a trap like that was totally out of character for Joel.
    But then I turned my PS4Pro back on, and started to play from there. By the time I got to Abby's part, I was like don't **** make me play as this **** Then I spent another 12 or so hours as Abby and got to know Yara and Levi. My point of view shifted from black and white to grey, as it does most of the time in real life too when I judge something too quick.
    By the time I was approaching the end I started to sneak way more around entire enemies and avoid all the meaningless killings, as I had enough of that. And surely, by the time I finally reached the beach, and confronted a worn down Abby, as I was pressing square everytime it came up, I kept thinking, give us a choice damn it, don't make us kill anymore people in this game. This is what this game does to you. I came around full circle. It truly is one of the best games of this generation, be it story-wise or gameplay wise.    … Expand

Technically is amazing with the gameplay, the graphics, music, etc. The problem in this game is the story it doesn’t has a good order of the events, it makes, they want so much that we like Abby so in some points it’s just frustrating and some key descicions like Joel’s dead and the end make the game change in a negative way. As said before if there was a good story telling those key descicions could be done, but in the way the are in the game is not done correctly.
    Overall a great game with a poor story, this game is not nearly as good as the first one.    … Expand

The first game had a fairly straightforward plot but in this second game the story is much more complex with deep meaningful themes more than just 'revenge is bad'. I can see why some people may get upset because of certain events that happen (no spoilers here) but I truly believe that once that happened they immediately stopped playing the game and said 'F' this. I feel bad for those kind of gamer's because they can't see how different in story this game is telling. This one dwells on revenge and the feelings that accompany with it such as pain and suffering. It has it's heart moments but it's nowhere near where the first game was in it's story and I'm okay with that because I don't want another copy and paste game. If I had to break it down and sum it up, Part II is a masterpiece in it's game play, sound design, acting, motion capture, and all that jazz. But the story for me (which I loved in the end) isn't better than the first game WHICH IS OKAY. I loved Abby's character and sure I was heartbroken with what she did but she grew on me and I want to see more of her and her new sidekick in another game. If Neil and Naughty Dog decide to make a Part III, I would want the trilogy to come to it's conclusion by finding a cure and have Ellie do what she thought she was meant to do meaning, the first game d'welled with purpose, this with revenge, finale with redemption.

    Please buy this game and give an open minded opinion on this. If you still dislike the game, that's okay. But finish the game and give the story and it's characters a chance before making your final thoughts.    … Expand

    Puedo decir que es un juego impresionante a base su guion y su sistema de juego solo que el doblaje al español latino no fue tan bueno la verdad tampoco fue tan bueno como su antecesor, puede que haya decepcionado un poco por los trailers engaños y sus agujeros pero no veo razón por el cual no darle un 10

Mucha de las críticas ha este juego han estado basadas en ataques a su argumento, y es cierto es controvertido y definitivamente Abby en un personaje que no despierta nuestro afecto y el hecho de hacernos jugar con ella durante unas cuentas horas es molesto. Pero siendo completamente honestos, nada de esto hace que juego deje de ser simplemente increíble. El esmero en los detalles, la hambientacion, la música, la jugabilidad, el diseño de niveles, todo es de una calidad sobresalientemente que ya quisieran otros estudios alcanzar. Algunas otras críticas dicen que es un “juego muy lúgubre para estos tiempos”, otra vez contra el argumento, es un juego en un mundo post apocalípticos donde nos muestran como probablemente (basados en cómo nos hemos comportado a través de la historia) se comportarían los humanos (que son al final los verdaderos mounstros del juego) no hay nada que no puedo era ser verdad y si eso te hace sentir mal pues este no es tú tipo de juego, eso no es culpa de quien lo hizo ni tiene por que bajar la puntuación del mismo, una evaluación sobre la “Calidad” no Tiene que ligarse con una sobre “gustos”. En fin técnicamente esta es una obra maestra, con un argumento controvertido y que no será del agrado de muchos (a mi particularmente el personaje de Abby nunca me genera empatía y el forzarme a jaguar con ella es muy molesto) pero esto no Desmerita un juego que todo gamer ó aficionado a los video juegos debería visitar para formarse una opinión, sin duda será ejemplo a seguir por muchos otros desarrolladores en cuanto a cualidades técnicas.… Expand

    esse jogo é simplesmente fantástico, mexeu comigo de várias formas, e as acessibilidades de modificar a dificuldade e como os inimigos se comunicam entre si é fantástico, mas o que não me agradou foi o fato da campanha da Abby ser um pouquinho tediosa, mas de resto é muito bom, as técnicas de combate, os gráficos e a movimentação está ótima

With that said mistakes where made in the previous game that forces you to see both sides of the conflict. This is a brutal complex story where the protagonist and antagonist often switch sides and nobody comes out unscathed. Im glad naughtydog had the gutsBased in a post apocalyptic setting with zombies you can expect to be in some uncomfortable situations where it is kill or be killed. With that said mistakes where made in the previous game that forces you to see both sides of the conflict. This is a brutal complex story where the protagonist and antagonist often switch sides and nobody comes out unscathed.     Certainly one of the bleakest video games there is out there, Last of Us 2 shines with a story full of humanity at its worst but also glimmers of hope. Undoubtedly, the story direction is not something everyone will like and a lot of people hate it.     Just sayin' : TLOU is the story of a postapocalyptic Universe SEEN by Ellie/Joel's eyes, that's NOT "THEIR LIFE IN A GAME" (This is evident in chapter II ).
    I'm so proud of Druckman's Direction, proud of the compositors, editors, concept artists, designers...and all the people behind this amazing project.
    I hope they're not gonna give importance to sterile and unsense comments of people that probably doesn't understood the meaning of the whole adventure, just criticizing ignorantly about "plot-holes" or "this character had not to to act like this, this was like this gne gne gne!"... ****
    I'm not giving 10 cause of things/mechanics in game limited not by the deveopers but the hardware capacity of actual generation consoles (fire/explosions range for example).

    Ajeno a todo ello, nos encontramos ante una historia increíble que quizá podrían haber estructurado de otra manera o no haber alargado tanto, pues al final del juego (unas 26 horas me habrá durado) se hace un poco pesada. Me refiero a que, ya que cada capítulo va por días,    Un excelente videojuego empañado por un lado por la guerra de consolas y por otro, por la politización de todo.

    Ajeno a todo ello, nos encontramos ante una historia increíble que quizá podrían haber estructurado de otra manera o no haber alargado tanto, pues al final del juego (unas 26 horas me habrá durado) se hace un poco pesada. Me refiero a que, ya que cada capítulo va por días, haber intercalado las peripecias de Abby y Ellie como por ejemplo, ocurre en Yakuza 0.

    Siguiendo con la historia, el final no me parece el adecuado. Ni por lo que mueve a actuar a Ellie ni por lo que acabas sintiendo hacia los personajes. Y damas y caballeros, lo cierto es que Abby se come a Ellie como personaje. La primera es un mastodonte a la que crees odiar y que poco a poco ves su humanidad y sus motivos para actuar como lo hace. Ellie, con su aparente fragilidad, es un auténtico monstruo que se termina haciendo odiosa. Sí, mi final hubiera sido distinto pero es lo que hay.

    Gráfica y técnicamente, un portento. Qué gráficos, qué expresiones faciales. Qué puedo decir, cada vez PS4 presenta mejores productos en este sentido. El aspecto sonoro tampoco se queda atrás, tanto en bso como efectos de sonido. Y una calidad sobresaliente en el doblaje.

    La jugabilidad es similar al anterior y aunque en general es buena, a veces he tenido la sensación que podría ser mejor. En este juego, matar enemigos llega a hacerse incómodo. Cuando acabas con un perro que va a atacarte, escuchas los lamentos de sus amos. Cuando matas a una persona, igual, lo llaman por su nombre. También se animan entre ellos para enfrentarse a ti. La IA no es ni mucho menos idiota y si no andas con ojo, te lo pondrán muy difícil.

    En definitiva, si tienes una PS4 juégalo sin duda, es un juegazo. Lo que tengo dudas es que sea el mejor de la generación como algunos afirman. ¿Superior a Bloodborne? ¿Uncharted 4? ¿The Witcher 3? ¿Horizon Zero Dawn? y tantos otros. En mi opinión, aunque son temáticas distintas, no.

    Ni reivindicaciones políticas ni leches (sí, hay una pareja de lesbianas y un personaje tiene disforia de género) pero ni mucho menos es machacón ni te lo meten con calzador a la mínima oportunidad, ni mucho menos. Juégalo!! y juzga por ti mismo.    … Expand

    Look, I liked the game up until the middle where I lost interest and started getting stale, the story fails to make me feel invested in the characters, and they definitely try, too much. the beginning feels rushed and I personally feel it could have been done so much better, its really a shame that this game falls short of what it could have been.

    About the plot: is very weak. Why? Simple: The first TLOU is a light story in a darkness world, the second is a dark story in a darkness world. How can it works?     The games story is very well written. It’s a little long but the overall story is meant to have you unable to pick a side and to realize revenge and violence is a never ending cycle. There is no right or wrong and no side is the right side. Even the hero in someone else’s story can be the villain in another. Well written story

I am not a gamer and TLOU is the only game I've ever played and completed. I was so scared that I would hate this because of the negativity online and whispers of a terrible storyline. Now, I am so relieved that I loved this game. Obviously the things that happened early on in the game were going to cause deep and raw emotional reactions, and they were meant to. I truly don't understand how people can accuse this game of bad writing or story telling. It's a tale of survivors and makes you second guess yourself as a player. I think people held onto their anger at Joel's death just to spite themselves. It wasn't thrown in early to rush it, it was to catch you off guard. He didn't get a hero's ending not because he's not hero (whether he is or isn't is debatable), but because it's unrealistic. People only want realism when it suits them.

No se puede decir mucho de este juego sin entrar en spoilers pero en mi opinión es una joya que todo el mundo que tenga una PS4 debería jugar o almenos probar, no es una obra maestra ni es un 10 ni un 9, porque falla en algo muy importante que es el gameplay, eso sí eso no quita que sea uno de los juegos que más enganchado a la pantalla de los que he jugado este último año.

If you don't want to play a game about a female protagonist or you still want to be shielded from "progressive" ideas, don't play this game.     But if you're looking for an experience that will transform you at the core, and play a game that is essentially a perfect creation, pick up and play it. I also suggest avoiding spoilers or people talking about the story, this game is played best when experienced without prior judgement.

    So why is it perfect? Well, it polished just about every aspect of the original game, and turned all the dials to 11.
    ART - The art is truly phenomenal, it will make you really appreciate the PS4's Photo Mode so you could capture and later revisit all the stunning sights. The lighting in this game is so harmoniously mixed with the 3D modeling giving you just a feeling of grandeur from every environment. The team really outdid themselves here and deserve all the praise they get for it.

    ANIMATIONS - A story, a really good story, needs us to feel the humans telling it, and the animation is a critical feature in feeling emotions and a truly living world. Part 1 had great animations, but still felt like a game. Here, at certain points it felt like watching a movie with live actors. You could see the emotion pierce through the 3D model and see straight into the voice actors playing the parts. The movement of the eyes, the lingering positions of the head, the small movement of the hand unable to compose itself.
    And the animations remain fantastic in the gameplay itself, you really feel like you're part of the world and moving through it. You interact with the world around you, and it interacts back with you.
    And every character has their own animation, their own movement and their behaviors throughout this world, so they truly feel unique.

    ENEMIES - The enemy AI might not feel all the way there yet, but it's as close as i've seen a game gets it. Enemies care about one another, so much as they yell out the name of the person you just killed, giving them a face and a name and giving gravity to your actions. They're also aware of when you reload, what you're hiding behind and they make attempts to cornering you and forcing you to run instead of fight in many of the encounters.
    This is not a game where you can just stand in one place and snipe all your enemies, you need to plan, you need to prioritize, and above all, you need to count your bullets.
    The game also added a nice mixture of new enemies types, to give the gameplay more interest and a level of difficulty.

    GAMEPLAY - The crafting system got a slight bump, UI is much slicker this time around and more intuitive and new weapons and upgrades allow for a new level of fun. The only downside in gameplay was I was never really able to quench my thirst in terms of fighting enemies. It was always almost there, but shy a step or two.
    But that's because the gameplay is really fun, the gunplay feels good in your hands, you can't just rush in, you can't just shoot endlessly.
    Ammo is scarce, resources are scarce, you need tactics, you need to prioritize and you need to think things through.
    Weapon upgrading also got a nice visual polish, that makes you enjoy and want to upgrade more.

    They also added a couple extra dimensions to the gameplay, with harder puzzles to solve, more contextual clues, a fun rope mechanic used in several different fashions, and a wider world to explored.

    LEVEL DESIGN & NARRATIVE - The level design is another area bumped to 11, with every area feeling unique and leading you without you realizing you're being led. You feel the freedom to explore in a lot of places, with restrictions in most places feeling real and make sense. There are some places where you feel a bit too narrowed to a specific path, and too many locked doors for my taste, but these places were far and few.
    Narrative was also excellent in this game, make every note you see count, every room tells a story that fits in. You learn so much about your enemies and the world around you just by looking around, no texts no voice, just you with your eyes. Truly the perfection of storytelling through art. Like every game should be.

    I won't expand on story, because like I said, it's a very contested subject you need to judge on your own. I thought it was Oscar worthy, some thought it was trash worthy. But regardless of that, I think all the other points make this game a MUST PLAY for everyone.

    I took my time to play it through around 33 hours until completion.

    I finished it a week ago and I can’t stop thinking about the game. So I looked at the many reviews positive and negative.

    In my personal opinion some of the hot topics a certain death, a certain playable character and the overall story need discussion.

    The death - didn’t have a problem with it I thought it drove the story

    Abby - she was awesome, first 30 mins I was like why am I playing as Abby but I loved the change of pace and in the end I didn’t know what I wanted

    Story - at the time I was so engrossed I absolutely loved the story. Upon reflection some criticisms are ok, I’m ok with Mel being pregnant for example but it was weird that she went out on patrol. Overall I think the heavy criticisms are in general not fair.

    Side note - the game play is improved, graphics improved and the game is really fun. Side note - rat king was awesome.

    Side note - loved the time line! For me it’s a 9 because it was close to perfect just some story holes that I was happy to overlook / didn’t notice.    … Expand

    But one man with his own ideology just killed all the efforts of the Naughty dog team. The game's plot is absurd. Throughout the game, we try to impose the ideas and motives of other people's characters for us. They try to justify their actions.
    And in the middle of the current game, I couldn't bring myself to play for a hostile character who killed one main character and kills the second.

    I'm a fan of the first part of the game. The worst thing is that this main person brazenly lied to the fans. The game trailers don't match the game itself. We were tricked from the very beginning to buy the game. Because the trailers promised us a continuation of the story of Ellie and Joel. But there is nothing of this in the game. I spent my money because of Neil Druckman's blatant lies.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I first played through the last of us 1, it was an incredible experience and I became SUPER involved with the story and characters. The tension between Ellie and Joel towards the end left me wanting so much more!

    So when LOU 2 released I got it immediately and in several aspects the game did not disappoint. The gameplay, the new animations, the SHEER DEPTH OF DETAIL in the world is remarkable and honestly in terms of all that , the game is a PERFECT. I enjoyed playing it throughout. However, I cannot call this game a masterpiece, simply because of how the writers chose to take the story. When they killed Joel early in the game, I was shocked and more importantly, I was disappointed because I KNEW, no matter how they took this plot we would not be able to play with Joel and we would not be able to enjoy that tension and that dynamic with Ellie anymore. Flashbacks are NOT enough, and frankly, they could've timed Joel's death or written Joel's death much more differently, but just like that you got rid of him? Anyways, at that point I chose to accept it because well I thought to myself, it's Naughty dog right? They will probably have an insane plot coming for us now. When Ellie & Tommy wanted revenge , I was okay with the way things went on. And even more importantly, when they showed Abby's perspective from THAT DAY in the hospital, and the fact that the man Joel killed was her father, I WELCOMED that because now things would get interesting right??? Well, suddenly we're in Abby's world now! We get to learn about her life and her story during those days in Seattle for some odd reason. I WELCOMED THAT TOO, because well it was refreshing to play and learn the other side too, but honestly, the amount of game time given to her character was WAY TOO MUCH! Even though I was interested while playing with her, I don't care enough about her! Honestly what was that whole thing with Yara & Lev?! I'm sorry, in many ways it was beautiful, and in terms of gameplay I really enjoyed going through it but purely in terms of the MAIN CENTRAL PLOT, why is this getting so much time?! And I thought to myself , what is wrong with Abby? I loved when Mel confronted her about her hypocrisy, the way she killed Joel and the fact that she killed the highest # of scars but suddenly she cares about these two kids? I loved that, because when she tries to save those kids in that island , she ends up killing WLF soliders too?! What? For me that was just too much of a mess to understand. The entire plot around the two kids was just a mess in my opinion. But that isn't even my biggest frustration, after all that gameplay is done with Abby, she kills Jesse, cripples Tommy and you're playing as her against Ellie? And not gonna lie, in a way it's very cool to have Ellie as a boss but I sure as hell don't want to PLAY against her? My mind was in a constant conflict and honestly I was annoyed. After Abby let's Ellie and Dina go, I think to myself, SURELY Ellie gets back at her now? And that's exactly what happens and I'm finally on the path to get this revenge over with. However, after killing several SEVERAL people in her way , Ellie towards the end can't finish it when she has the ultimate opportunity? WHY? Why not?! Cause of her trauma? Cause she couldn't forgive Joel before he died? Well, ABBY is directly responsible for that whether he deserved to die or not! And Abby is also responsible for those images in her head, because well she repeatedly beat him to death with a golf club IN FRONT OF HER. In fact, Abby is responsible for A LOT MORE. But suddenly Ellie let's her go? I'm sorry but this was it for me plot wise. Ellie did not even know that the man Joel killed was Abby's father!

    I just cannot like how this turned out, and I believe that's all because of how the writers chose to go with this. The flashbacks with Joel felt GREAT , because I was constantly craving for that dynamic between them. Why couldn't they write Joel's death differently? Why does it have to be so early? Why is there so much filler nonsense in the middle of the game instead? For me , the way they wrote the story takes away this games HIGH potential to be game of the year. In terms of production, everything was on point and this has been one of the best games I've ever played in terms of visuals and gameplay, but the plot is poorly and lazily written and that makes me cut a solid 2 points from the score to give this game an 8/10.

La trama es buena, pero quizá yo hubiera acortado algo el juego, ya que al final se hace algo tedioso y estás deseando que acabe. Los gráficos son espectaculares y la movilidad es bastante continuista respecto al primero, pero con toques más impredecibles. Las batallas son más tensas ya que la IA ha mejorado bastante. A parte de que los enemigos interaccionan más y eso le da mucha vida y tensión.

    Tras acabarlo, me queda un sentimiento de vacío emocional por las decisiones que toman las protagonistas. Siento que el ciclo de venganza ha terminado y que cada una ha sufrido las consecuencias de sus actos. No es el final que esperaba (feliz), pero no me desagrada. A día de hoy, sigo digiriendo las decisiones finales de Ellie y el final de esta historia.

    This game is honestly very good. It’s deep and controversial, the story is amazing and something that will stick with you. The game is about choices, and how choices can have serious consequences. There’s two sides to every story so keep that in mind as well.

    I'm going to start off by saying that I don't discredit your opinion if the story was not for you. I do think that if you're hung up on one particular aspect of the game and that blocks your ability to enjoy it, then try to take a step back from that. I for one was incredibly moved by this game.     Regardless if you like the decisions the developers made with the story, the choices are forged so intricately and with so much emotion in a way that only naughty dog can do. When you pair this with some of the best visuals and gameplay mechanics on a console game, it really is a piece of art as it is much a game, and not everyone can appreciate art.

    I didn't buy this game to play Abby. After waiting 7 years to play Joel and Ellie again we're stuck playing an unlikable "science" experiment (Abby's words... not mine) for far too long. The entire story is complete garbage. All the characters in this game are unlikable including Ellie and it feels like you're constantly rooting against your own character.     What I liked:

    In terms of the visual aspects, they did an amazing job. The game is beautiful. The graphics and world building is captivating.
    The AI is exhilarating, by using different weapons and tactics when confronted by your enemies.

    What I didn't like:

    There are big problems with the story, the way it's told, and the way it was delivered.
    I get that it was experimental and similar to the styling of some directors, but it really didn't work for me.
    It's a simple revenge story and it's Vanilla at best.
    The game constantly forces you to like characters you have no relationship with. Introducing and killing them off almost feels like they didn't need to be there at all.
    I reckon Ellie's descent into chaos would have worked much better if they had kept Joel around for more than the 5 minutes of gameplay you get with him.

    Anyways, the game got about half of it right and the other half is an absolute mess.

    This is not TLOU, this is a hot mess and time wasted I will never get back. The biggest disappointment in gaming for me since No Man's Sky.    … Expand

He had softened a little with his new source of hope in his world (Ellie) and their relatively comfortable lifestyle. Abby is a young girl, like Ellie, like Sarah. He let his guard down for a moment because his choices were to trust this young girl (Abby) or deal with a hoard of infected in a blizzard, hours away from home.     I've basically come here to defend this game. But having played it through in it's entirety, I have to say I loved it. It's a very engaging, emotional journey - with many twists and turns. This game in essence is a story of tragedy, loss, revenge and forgiveness. I loved watching the characters progress and change over time. The story is beautifully written and told, I mourned the loss of Joel, it made me emphatize when I didn't wanna to, with a Abby, whom I really disliked for a major chunk of the game. Then I understood, I second guessed the decision of Ellie, which I saw destroyed by the loss and hunger of blood. I just wanted her to stop and find peace with Dina, no more tears no more hurt.
    The game is well paced and it's a natural upgrade from the first one, which I loved too. Thanks Naughty Dog for this game. I really appreciated it.    … Expand

Anyway the story is so great that pass over the gameplay problem but it is a shame that the developers had to put so many filler encounters to reach the 30 hrs gameplay to lure people that use $/hr as a meter of quality. There will be many people who will despise the game because of the ending and story structure. Waited 7 years for a **** story with characters that is impossible to emphasize with and main characters "died" 2 hours into the game, one of them is killed and the other one has their story killed filling up everything with revenge, violence and more violence. This is a no sense and this game should never be bought buy anyone by anymeans... So dissapointing and wanted to quit from the game since almost the beginning... 25 hours of suffer and violence, this is ridiculuous.

    Watch out and don't waste your money, continue playing the first game, this is not a sequel... this is absolute trash. It breaks my heart waiting for this almost 4 years since they announced this game...    … Expand
