    This game is beyond amazing.Yes it was brutally sad and heartbreaking i still didn’t recover from THAT scene but thats what naughty dog and neil wanted to make us feel that nothing and no one is safe once they leave the walls of their safe place . I loved playing as the other character playing as her made me realize that she wasn’t a bad person she was just like ellie trying to survive inThis game is beyond amazing.Yes it was brutally sad and heartbreaking i still didn’t recover from THAT scene but thats what naughty dog and neil wanted to make us feel that nothing and no one is safe once they leave the walls of their safe place . I loved playing as the other character playing as her made me realize that she wasn’t a bad person she was just like ellie trying to survive in an unfair apocalyptic world. I think a lot of people didn’t get what the game was trying to tell us they just wanted blood. I love every ounce of the game the dialogues the combat the graphics

    I enjoyed the Game very much. The Story isn‘t meant to be satisfying, I get that much. It hurts at times. Yeah you hate some characters but thats Part of Every story. At least in the end it was an experience. Cant hate a Game for that. And all the gamers who consider themselves betrayed should just let it be and focus on bashing the next game.

The thing that everyone seems to be complaining about or, more specifically, people that reviewed the game on the day it came out, and couldn't have possibly known the whole story without reading the leaks. If you just read the story without experiencing the game, I can totally understand why you would be upset, but the game does a pretty good job at making you question Ellie's motivations, and showing the similarities between her and the "antagonist" of the game. Not a PERFECT job, but a respectable job, and despite having seen similar stories to this game in other media, it feels fresh and exciting to see a story like this told through a video game where we actually get to perform the acts of the characters.

    Overall, this game is a solid 7/10. The reason I gave it a 10 was to counter-balance all the 0 reviews from people that just read the leaks and didn't even play it.    … Expand

    Nothing is perfect, but, The Last of Us part 2 has an incredible, deep, and moving story that is a worthy follow up to the original. The gameplay mechanics are a polished version of the first game, giving immediate familiarity, but with an additional layer that makes for a more rewarding experience.

    I've been a fan of linear, story driven games since I can remember. I played TLOU (part 1) about 12 months ago, and it did a damn great job at showing me how invested a game can get you in it's story and characters; But nothing could have prepared me for Part II. Naughty Dog clearly knew that this franchise has a strong emotional grip on it's players, and they utilised that to presentI've been a fan of linear, story driven games since I can remember. I played TLOU (part 1) about 12 months ago, and it did a damn great job at showing me how invested a game can get you in it's story and characters; But nothing could have prepared me for Part II. Naughty Dog clearly knew that this franchise has a strong emotional grip on it's players, and they utilised that to present something so damn refreshing, unique and emotional. I have never experienced such a gripping, emotional journey in a videogame. You can enter this game and let one event ruin your entire experience (an event I personally believed to be totally in line with the tone of the series), or instead, you can accept the direction, and let it take you on this challenging journey. The ups and downs felt so genuine – the writing never feels contrived, and the characters just feel real.

    Sure, it has it's issues as well, which for me sit mostly with occasional gameplay and A.I. hiccups. For example, support character A.I. sometimes gets in the way, or becomes a pain to navigate with. This is something you never dealt with in God of War, for example. Occasionally the character you're playing can feel rigid in its motions, especially when transitioning between different walking surfaces. The same can be said for engaging with the interact prompt when picking things up etc... sometimes you find yourself shuffling around for a few seconds until the damn Triangle button prompt lets you activate it. Also, the interaction with your weapons/crafting menu's can be a bit too step-by-step driven – an example might be when selecting a weapon, and then selecting to reload quickly after – you have to wait for your character's weapon accessing animation to completely finish before you can instruct to reload; It would have been nice to have some more fluidity in this process, and allow speedier instructions, or at least instructions that are tacked on in that instance to play after the character finishes the animation. In the grand scheme of it, though, these things are very quickly overlooked, but do drop the gameplay score a bit as it pulls you out of the game.

    One thing I would like to give an extra mention to, is the audio design. I played this with Extreme Dynamic Range enabled, under Studio Reference. This was on a 2.1 KEF system. This was nothing short of exceptional. The gunshots were jarring, the whistles of the Seraphites in the distance were clear and incredibly well placed, the ambience of the cut-scenes pulled you in. The game has a dark, disorienting bass-driven tone in the darkest scenes of the game, which feels incredible. Each kill felt horrific and impactful, and each major cutscene had such a strong soundstage and tonal mood, that I was genuinely impressed.

    I never review games – honestly, I generally just don't really care. I play a game, I finish it, it was good, sure, it was bad, whatever. This game deserves a genuine review, though. I can't believe how anyone can play this from start to finish and not feel that the emotional cues were expertly placed. I'm a 30 year old dude and it even had me tearing up at the end... i'm so damn impressed. The story didn't go how you wanted it to, and for that I am incredibly glad, because I want to be taken on a unique path.

    For me, this is a solid 9.5/10, which I'm rounding to 10 for Metacritic.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was truly fun to play. Exploration was clearly an emphasis in this game, and i genuinely enjoyed looking for every nook and cranny. Aside from the brutal death of Joel and an unsatisfying ending, I seriously loved the Last of Us Part 2, although I would say that this should be the last installment for the franchise, or at the very least, Ellie and Joels' arc has been put to a close. What I think Naughty Dog should do is make use of the incredible world in The Last of Us and focus on making a story on a different group of survivors.… Expand

    This is one of the most impressive video games that i’ve ever played. The graphics, animations, voice acting, gameplay and the story are all top notch. They improved on all the mechanics of the first game in every single way. There are some story beats that people may find upsetting, but overall they add to the whole experience. The Last of Us Part 2 is all the more proof of that. No amount of leaks or spoilers should lead you to judge this game until you actually play and finish it. The studio takes a whole lot of risks and makes numerous bold choices with this one, and frankly they do pay off by the end of the game. Just when I thought they couldn't have made the gameplay any better, ND added a surprisingly great number of subtle and more obvious gameplay improvements that offer you so many different ways to approach combat. Suffice it to say, it is extremely satisfying to take on enemies now than ever before. The facial animations, the acting and voice acting in this game is AMAZING! Honestly, these guys exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. I urge you to hang in there and trust a developer that has NEVER disappointed.… Expand

I played this game back to back with Last of Us Part I and not able to put down the controller. The main characters have very intricate personalities and at the same time predictable and unpredictable behavior, just like any of us. Everybody in the game is imperfect and evolving or devolving depending on the arc.

    Acting, photography, sound, and music was impeccable creating an incredible immersive experience.

    There is a lot of "treasure hunting" and it can break the climate and pace. I recommend leaving deep scavenging to a second play though. When you are rushing to save lives, stopping to grab artifacts is just wrong. It is amazing that the game tackles even that. I recall taking time to go around to find an artifact for a trophy, the NPC would sarcastically say that it was waiting for you. Don't recall the exact words, but it is striking.

    It is sad the game frustrated so many people for various reasons. Maybe i was immune to that because I absolutely do not go after news, reviews or watch videos about the game prior to playing. The only media I have watched was the official release videos from Naughty Dog and Sony. I knew nothing that could spoil my experience.

    Like most people, I almost deleted the game upon watching the gore death of Joel. That was a sucker punch, the feelings were a mix of hate, frustration, sadness. But i kept playing, I wanted to make sense of what was going on. As the game concluded, the negative emotions were gone and I feel Joel is finally at peace with himself and Ellie.

    Owen was such an underrated protagonist. He was the only person that could talk Abby out of it, but out of vengeance and love for Abby, he decided not to antagonize. I don't think he regretted been part of Joel's murder, but he made sense of the world, decided to value life and inspired Abby to change.

    This is one of the few games that make sense of violence and guns. Murder is just gratuitous and easy. It is the solution for every problem humanity has. And that is at the center of both parts. Joel refusing to let Ellie die for a chance to save humanity, was the first spark to change status quo. It repeats during Abby and Ellie's arc when they finally realize that violence and killing just leaves you alone and mentally disturbed. Abby saving the seraphite kids and Ellie sparing Abby's life is redemption for the human race. The only way forward.

    I wish more people would see the game in the same light was I did. It was the most emotional gaming experience ever. I will never forget it.    … Expand

    This is my first time writing a game review and, as I do so, the current user score is a 4.7/10. As I read through these reviews, my impression is that most of the negative reviewers are not yet at a stage in their life where they can appreciate a game like this.

    Rather, I suspect that the people most inclined to appreciate this game are those who can tolerate and understand that:
    [1] sometimes people you like will make choices that you wish they hadn't made.
    [2] the world, especially in TLOU, can be savage and unjust -- sometimes people you care about will suffer in ways that feels undignified, unexpected, and/or unfair.
    [3] some people are romantically attracted to people of the same gender and/or identify or express themselves in ways that don't align with "traditional" gender expectations. That doesn't make them any less of a human being, even if it causes you discomfort.

One of the most captivating games I have ever played. I am perplexed at the negativity this game gets, and essentially boils down to people rating it bad because it didn't go that way. The game is about death, loss, and consequence. If you aren't ready to accept that, and that your favourite character is not and unstoppable superhero, then don't play the game.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hi there. Here are a few of my thoughts about The last of us 2. It's ok to not like a game. I love it, but that's just me. What is not ok, is to collectively review bomb something by calling it trash, when it is one of the best looking games to come out on ps4. This game is a work of art. It is beautiful and engaging. It is deeply polarizing, which is why the fanbase is so divided about it. Again, that's fine. The story is dark, bleak and deeply upsetting. It's a revenge tale. To have a revenge video game, we as the player, need something powerful enough to drive us to want to seek that vengeance. Thus, we come to the death of Joel, one of gaming's most beloved characters. People don't like that. I get it. Hell I don't like it. But it is a damn good way to motivate me to go an a murder rampage halfway across the country to bring his killers to task. Also to show the cycle of vengeance, they have to show us what led Abby to do the dastardly deed, and I am glad that we were put in her shoes to do that. I feel that we are not supposed to sympathize with her, but empathize. To see the path that made her a monster, and to draw parallels between her, and Joel from the first game. Let us remember after Joel lost his daughter, Joel became a murderous piece of **** too. He would cut thru any number of people to accomplish whatever he was doing at the time. This game is about Ellie going down that same path, but instead of finishing her task and killing her rival, she lets go and finds her humanity. Abby does the same. The game ends without a conclusion. The protagonist and antagonist are still alive. This is made this way to make us feel as empty inside, as Ellie does, now that she is alone with everyone she knew and loved either dead or gone. The message is a powerful one, whether or not you enjoy it. It definitely didn't make me feel good. The biggest reason I even did this review is because I saw the toxic gaming community condemning this game simply because they didn't like the story. That doesn't make it an objectively bad game, just one you might not like. Hands down this is one of the prettiest games I've ever played, and the combat is engaging and visceral. The constant collecting of junk got old at times, but whatever. That's not game breaking. I would honestly rate this an 8, but I'm rating it 10 to compensate for the undeserved user scores it's been getting. Also if your complaint about this game is that it includes a couple LGBTQ characters in it, **** you, bigot. You're a piece of **** and you may not know it, but everyone else does.… Expand

That’s exactly why there are plenty of negative comments. You need a certain emotional intelligence to understand. As we accompany Ellie's crash throughout her revenge. From murder to murder. The masterfully cut back memories. From half the game, we also understand and feel why Abby did what she did and we follow along as she loses everything for a revenge. It was also a good move that Lev would have a 'conscience.' As their acquaintance changed Abby. When he finally leaves Ellie alive and comes to live with Dina. there as he cannot let go of this situation from his thought and torments him. Finally, when they both get to the end, they lose everything that is important to them because of revenge. We got a great structure and finally got a game of giving and teaching something. That’s why it doesn’t come in for people with low emotional intelligence. Because they don't understand what he was talking about. They just went and fired. All esters GREAT WORK NAUGHTY DOG.… Expand

    Dont listen to what haters say, the game is incredible, the story is amasing and very interesting, the places and ambientations are breathtaking, ignore those who rate this game as 0 with the exuse of too many gay people, that's not true, ellie is lesbian, but the game is focused on a whole different argument, i really recommend this game because it's a masterpiece

    A game to close this generation, best-looking graphics for a console, acting 10/10 plot has some issues, but I absolutely love this game, even tho I would say this game BEAT me not the otherwise, and when I say it I'm saying in a good way, it is a roller-coaster of emotions that drives you towards the end. UNIQUE VERY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE.

Too much Abby gameplay ( like way too much) and the developers trying to make you sympathetic towards her but it doesn’t work. All Ellie parts of game was phenomenal but Abby parts really brought it down plus a stupid ending in which Ellie should’ve killed Abby. Let’s hope Abby isn’t a main character in the third one but they are really setting her up to be. :(. Apart from too much Abby it’s a worthy sequel with phenomenal gameplay, graphics and voice acting. I’ll give it a 10 to make up for the people who are giving it a bad score yet never even playing it themselves and just going of the leaks. It’s a 8/10.… Expand

    Un gran juego, creo que estoy por la mitad, muy lindo, buena historia, buena jugabilidad, no entiendo lo de su agenda LGBTTIQ la gente está loca, todo sucede muy natural, nada se ve forzado, las críticas negativas son puros trolls.

    This was phenomenal storytelling for me. Yes, I hated that Joel was killed. But, this story ends up being about so much more. It’s about found family, tragedy, and revenge—and how far characters are willing to go. It’s about understanding two sides of the same coin. It has dark moments, and some of the most beautiful and touching moments. If you’re on the fence about the game, I highly recommend it if you love storytelling. This game deserves so much more than the flak it’s currently getting. Look to the critics for actual insight, and not to the hate campaign on this site.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 wasn’t the game everyone wanted, but to me it pushed boundaries by evoking so many hard to swallow aspects of The Last Of Us world. It’s a masterpiece.

    I loved how this story was constantly changing my perspective on things. It went from “what is going on with you Ellie? Give Joel a break” to “go **** them up Ellie” to “I really don’t want either of these characters to die”. By the end, I was struggling to mash the square button to kill Abby, wincing as the animations are playing out. Some parts were hard to watch, but that was the point.

    The level design was outstanding. The attention to detail in each environment was amazing and the set pieces were varied and interesting. The visuals were top notch and the animations were next level. All the intricate facial expressions to the little hand movements, again the attention to detail was insane. Can't wait to see how it runs on the PS5.

    Incredible, yet painful story. Others who hate the game can’t fathom their favourite characters dying. That doesn’t equate to bad storytelling. I loved it! But also nearly cried on several occasions.

Last of Us Part 2 continues to make the experience an emotional roller coaster. I have gone from hating Abby to caring so much for her that i didnt want to kill her despite what she has done.
    This game is not about revenge, it's about forgiveness and redemption. Joel was treated the way this world treats everyone. Despite him being all caring and sweet towards Ellie dooesn't make him an all good character. He, like everyone else in that world, did everything to survive. Including killing lots and lots of innocent people and torturing them. Even though he is one of the most beloved characters in gaming history, he didn't deserve a poetic and beatiful death. Joel's choices catched up to him and he was killed by the people he has wronged in the past. Joel's story was executed perfectly.

    Abby's storyline shows us that no one in that world is simply black or white, everyone is right in their own perspective. It's really rare to see the antagonist as a normal human being amd not just some villian the protagonist has to kill to achieve some goal. In the end, i cared for Abby as much as i cared for Ellie. The cycle of violance and how the only way out is not revenge but forgiveness was executed to perfection.

    The graphics in this game is the most realistic in all of gaming. The game is so beautiful that i took over 2.5 GB of screenshot from the game. I showed few of these screenshots to my girlfriend without telling her where they are from and she actually thought this was from real life. Every shot in this game is a masterpiece and ı found myself staring at some scenery quite often.

    Gameplay was so smooth that i felt like i was in the game. Naughty Dog has always managed to make the gameplay a phenomenal experience. Killing infected and humans never felt so satisfying. Stalkers and Shamblers add so much anxiety and fear to the experience. Constantly checking the corners to see if some stalker is spying on me is truly one of the most stresful thing i have experienced. There are so many opportunities for combat, whether its making the human enemies fight with dogs or holding a human as a shield so that clickers can eat them right out of your hands is amazing. Never before i played a game that made the NPC's feel so much allive. Everyone in this game has a name, a loved one and emotion. The attention to detail was top notch and ı give my respects to everyone at Naught Dog for putting so much work even to tiny things. Every room i entered made me think " It's a weird feeling to be in a room where 25 years ago somebody else called this place a home"

    Music in this game was out of this world. Gustavo managed to make you feel the vibe of every scene you are experiencing. The music in the action scenes especially makes you on the edge.
    And despite what everyone is saying, the ending was excellent. Ellie thought she had to kill Abby to get rid of her PTSD. But once she sees Abby tied up in the pillars, she realized that she's not just some girl that killed, Ellie saw how much Abby cares for Abby (Which is a reflection of Ellie and Joel from the first game). But as soon as she was letting them go, she saw Joel's face being beaten to death and she thought killing Abby would make this right. But just as she is drowning her, she sees Joel again. But this time it's a flashback from the night before he was killed, it's about forgiveness. This is the moment she truly lets Abby go.

    Questo è il gioco che tutti i fan di TLOU hanno aspettato. Ogni cosa in questo gioco ci fa capire che la verità non sta in una sola"parte" ma che bisogna ascoltare tutte e due le "campane".
    I personaggi sono ben studiati, il gameplay è molto bello(meglio quello "stealth" di Ellie rispetto a quello più aggressivo di Abby), ma il vero punto di forza di questo The Last of us parte 2 è la trama che va a collegarsi perfettamente con il finale della prima parte.
    I colpi di scena(come la morte di Joel) ti danno tante emozioni che sono molto diverse l'una dall'altra. La morte di Joel all'inizio ti fa quasi piangere ma subito dopo la sepoltura ti trasmette rabbia e voglia di vendetta, al contrario la morte di Jesse(che avviene quando meno te lo aspetti) ti lascia quasi incredulo e ti fa ricordare quanto buono e gentile fosse il suo personaggio.
    Riguardo ad alcuni dei nuovi personaggi invece: Ho trovato che Dina fosse un personaggio perfetto come spalla di Ellie, la maggior parte dei lupi non mi sono dispiaciuti affatto e hanno dato un tocco in più al gioco, ed infine Abby Lev e Yara il gioco te li ha fatti passare per cattivi per Ellie ma in realtà anche loro ne hanno passate tante.
    Il finale è stato molto commovente con Ellie che tornando a casa capisce che ormai non gli è rimasto più nulla e che la sua voglia di vendetta le ha rovinato la vita.



    PS. A mio parere un The Last of us parte 3 o un DLC potrebbe anche uscire magari spiegando la storia dei serafiti e del perché della guerra contro i lupi oppure spiegando come alcune luci si siano riunite e perché non danno la caccia ad Ellie    … Expand

The graphics are incredible and the story is near perfect. Yeah the combat is clunky but that's just Naughty Dog. Thats literally all of there games. What I would have done was end it at the farm. The whole Santa Barbara part seems like it makes no sense. But in a way it really does tie the whole story and message together. And for those complaining she's gay your clearly not fans cause she was gay in the first one. And complaining about a small character being trans is just stupid. If you loved the first one you'll love this one. I don't think there has ever been a peice of art or really anything that has made me cry and feel like this. It's just amazing.… Expand

    I first became a fan of The Last of Us when it was released on Playstation 3, I bought it and played it religiously. The gameplay, sound and above all the story were one of a kind.     I first became a fan of The Last of Us when it was released on Playstation 3, I bought it and played it religiously. The gameplay, sound and above all the story were one of a kind. We met 2 amazing characters that will live and be remembered in the gaming history forever.
    I bough the game again (remastered) on Playstation 4, I've played the multiplayer numerous times with friends and had a blast every time. It is safe to say I was exited for The Last of Us 2 and got it on release date.
    I've been playing the game ever since I got it, a few hours everyday and today I finally finished it. The graphics, sound and especially level design surpass the part 1 by a country mile. The game is alive, more so than it was in the first instalment. Skeletons with notes feel like they once lived, the houses feel like they barely withstood quest of time and even the enemies feel like real people. The levels are more open-world, allowing the player to choose how much to explore and when to move on. There are dead-ends, screaming enemies, animals, the game feels alive.
    The music is fantastic, Santaolalla absolutely smashed it out of the park, in a horror game music might be the most important factor in making the player scared, and boy did that work. The amount of times I was hesitant to continue, or open a door were limitless.

    In my opinion the Story of part 2 might even be better than part 1. I understand that people don't like the curveball that is thrown midway through the story, and I didn't like it at first, but looking back at it, it might be the best thing Naughty Dog could have done. We get to see a different side of the situation a
    end Ellie learns from it right at the end.
    The end did leave me with questions and I wondered why Ellie even bothered making the entire journey if she ended it like that, but the message Naughty Dog want to express is clear and beautiful.

    All with all, if you liked part 1 you should 100% play this game, even if you end up not liking the story at the end, the gameplay, sound and level-design make up for it. I was not disappointed and I will replay this game most defiantly one day.    … Expand

    El juego es un 10 total, una obra maestra, que si bien pudo ser escrita un poquito mejor no quita el hecho de que todo lo demás es BRUTAL!

    Todos los que dan mala calificación por 1 o 2 cositas son los mismos que se quejan por todo y no son capaces de disfrutar del arte sin ofenderse por todo, sinceramente me pone triste ese hecho.

    I liked the last of us part 2. This is a great continuation of the first part, my emotions were on the aisle after the game, letting out a tear several times and at the end roaring like a little child, I recommend playing this masterpiece.

    A True successor to the original game, it was an amazing experience, the gameplay was Hella fun and the graphics we breathtaking(I though my ps4 was gonna expl whit such graphics) also the story kept surprising me continuously. I think this might be goty but ghost of tsushima might take take it. 10/10

    Man this game is great. I can't stop thinking about it. All I see are butthurt Joel fans. Yea I loved him too but his death was part of this brilliant tragic story. That's life especially in a zombie apocalypse. Game taught us alot about that there are always more sides two a story.

    I did not play the first game, so I can't comment if it was worse or better, but I can only say what a great game! You totally emerge in the game, I can't stop playing it. I am only in the first 8 hours or so, so I have some great gaming ahead.
    The ones giving this 0 score are nothing but trolls and make a platform like this totally useless. That's a real shame.

The story seems to apart the fans, but I can comprehend the choices Naughty Dog made and appreciate every evil twist in it.

    I got this game for my wife's boyfriend's trans son and he absolutely loves it. His favorite character was Abby and his favorite scene from the game was Abby and Owen on the boat. I really liked the ending. Ellie finally realized that Joel was a bigot, racist, cis-white male and deserved his fate by Abby's hand.     Está hecho con mimo para el fan de the last of us y la peña que lo critica no tiene ni z#rra idea.
    Le estan metiendo un acribillamiento con ceros y unos y ya solo la forma de disparar es de 10.
    Un juego que te consiga sacar la fibra merece la pena cuando sabes que todas las campañas son una p#ta mierda directamente.

    At first glance, you are absolutely not in doubt that this is another striking piece from Naughty Dog.

    They have truly mastered their craft and once again delivered an incredibly beautiful game.
    The graphics are some of the most impressive I have ever seen, and I still can't believe that this is able to run on a regular PS4. Playing on the Pro with a 4K HDR TV just makes it more incredible, so if you're fortunate enough to own a Pro and a 4K TV, this is really a feast for your eyes.
    The gameplay mechanics are a huge upgrade from the first games with several new cool features and animations that makes your jaw drop to the floor. It's fun and engaging and just like the first game, it feels grounded and realistic, particularly due to the realistic violence and gore. Bashing an enemy with a pipe or any other melee weapon feels almost uncomfortable. You feel every blow and the aftermath is gruesome. Guns are loud and heavy and each shot feels deadly.
    The AI is also a huge improvement from the somewhat buggy and "dumb" AI from the first game. They are much more intelligent and unpredictable.
    I shot a WLF member two times and she dropped to the ground, screaming in agony from the gunshot wound I had inflicted. It felt so real and it felt terrible as another WLF member yelled "Ashley!" as he ran towards her. I didn't just kill a random enemy NPC. I killed his friend, Ashley.
    Another WLF was walking with his dog. I shot him with a silenced pistol and he immediately fell to the ground. Dead. His dog noticed immediately and started going in circles around him, whimpering and not wanting to leave his side. I felt terrible, but in another scenario, that dog would've tried to chew me to pieces had I been spotted. The first game was brutal, but in Part II, you really feel the weight of the violence and the consequences of your actions.

    Where Naughty Dog truly excels with this game is with the incredibly bold and intense story and narrative. The first game was a masterpiece and deserved all the praise it got. I still consider it my favorite game of all time, and with Part II it just adds so much more to the first game. Sadly, many people have very mixed opinions about the sequel, and the user reviews here tells you the same story. It's not a game for everyone but I don't understand the ridiculous amount of hate that this game has gotten.

    The story of Part II continues where we left off in Part I and tells an incredibly harrowing and engaging story that leaves you feeling uncomfortable and stressed during the majority of the game. It's NOT a fun game and I never expected it to be either.

    There is so much more depth to the characters and they feel just as real as in the first game. The new characters are interesting and well-written and there are so many twists that leaves you completely speechless.

    This story is incredibly divisive and ambiguous and while there are certain things I definitely wasn't onboard with regarding this story, I can definitely appreciate the storytelling and why things had to happen the way they did. You need to have an open mind in order to fully grasp and appreciate this story. It's not an easy story and many people aren't onboard with the things that happens, but it's truly done in a way that respects the characters and their journey and adds so much more depth to the first game.

    I have a massive amount of respect for Naughty Dog to create such an ambitious game and they really nailed it with Part II with just about everything. No matter what other people say about this game, you really HAVE to experience it on your own. Make up your own mind and don't trust the user reviews here. This one has TWO female protagonists and STILL all of you are complaining like **** just because how the story played out. I managed to avoid spoilers and i had a lot of fun, a lot. Of WOW moments....so yeah. And by protesting to change the story line its like protesting weeks ago. Just buy it and enjoy this master piece.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
