    I honestly don’t get the hate for the game. It’s visually amazing, gameplay was great so many great moments. I honestly believe people are not understanding what naughty dog were trying to achieve with the story. Do I wish some things were different yes. But in no means was it a bad story.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. HUGE fan of the Last of Us OG. Can't tell you how many times I've played through it. Now... Apparently it's an unpopular opinion but I am an even bigger fan of the Last of Us II... Most of the hugely negative reviews I've read have painted this game as a demon coming to rip your soul out and drag it down to hell. Few of those people have good points. Others? Simply not in touch with their emotions or cannot comprehend situations and accept them for what they are. This game tells an amazing revenge/forgiveness tale that what seems to me would be pretty damn accurate for most humans going through these situations. Joel dying off? IMMENSELY saddening. Not ashamed to say I cried. Naughty Dog did that very daringly KNOWING everyone who has played TLOU is extremely connected to his character. It's a post apocalyptic era for **** sakes! I'm surprised they didn't die before this! Anyways, loved the ability to play as Abby. Made me like her and sympathize with her. Made the fights between Ellie and Abby painful to play. Meaning I didn't want to kill either of them. All other aspects of gameplay... Masterfully done. Sounds... Made me feel like I was there crawling around on the ground, assassinating enemies with Ellie or Abby, running through buildings, shooting, etc. (headphones work best for this game unless you have a kick-ass surround sound system) Story... Dark, eye opening, makes you think, perfect sequel Controls... Way smoother than the OG All in all... This is one of my top 5 favorite games ever made. WELL worth the many playthroughs to come :)… Expand

The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, gameplay extremely fun and probably the best part of this game. The game play builds upon the predecessor and adds more fun elements and enemies like stalkers/rat-king etc, all enhancing the quality of the game. As far as the story goes, i can understand why some people are angry but this game was always going to have a sad ending. I think the cut-scenes explain brilliantly the choices Ellie and Abby make with the links to their pasts and overall the game does an excellent job in portraying the consequences of revenge and how to move forward from it.… Expand

    This game is absolutely amazing. I've never experienced anything like this. Strong plot, visually stunning, the acting of characters is outstanding, realistic sounds are also impressive. Possible the best game of the current generation of consoles. Thank You Naughty Dog. 10/10.

    The Game is a Masterpiece! Plain and simple. It easily looks the most beautiful game ever made and the gameplay is very rich. Not as rich as mgs V but what is?

    Then the story.... I have never been so sad than when the credits roll. It wasn't emotional rollercoaster, it was emotional tornado. Sonuç olarak başlarda oyunu beğenmeme rağmen ortada bir başyapıt var ve 3. oyunun sinyalini verdiğini hissediyorum. “Bir hırsızın sonu” noktası gibi bir nokta atılmamış ve virgül koyup devam dediklerini düşünüyorum.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is amazing. At first I was skeptical when I had to play with Abby cause we all hate the fact she killed Joel. But while playing her part of the story you learn we are all a bad guy in someone's story. The part where you're hitting Ellie in the face was as heartbreaking as the ending where you're hitting Abby in the face. And because of these conflicting emotions this game separates itself from all others.

    The world of TLOU is harsh, cruel, and sorrowful, where humanity has been long strayed from its original values. A lot of people here say that the game is bad because of its story but I think TLOU part 2 deserves at least an 8, in an objective way for the landscapes, visuals, and gameplay - it's a breathtaking game and a mindblowing experience.

Although most people don't agree to Joel's death, not everyone dies the honorable death they wanted in this cruel, harsh world. Naughty Dog also did a good job in making us feel sympathy for Abby, although she killed the fan-favorite Joel, she was on the same mission Ellie was on, they both extremely loved their "dads". The ending also completed it all,Ellie remembered the scene where she was on the porch with joel, telling him she will forgive him, she put 2 and 2 together and let Abby go. She also didnt want lev to lose Abby just like she lost Joel. What. A. Masterpiece.… Expand

    A masterpiece. Graphics, sounds and all the technical parts are just perfect. The storyline is not what you expect to be, but this is an unique experience. There are some parts of story I did not enjoy, but it is all subjective. I personally enjoyed the game, totally recommend

    The Last of Us II is an incredible game and I hope you do yourself the favor to avoid random anons reviews, useless spoilers and biased comments and discover it by playing it. It's been an amazing journey for me, it's a great experience and I can't recommend it enough. Peace

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us 2 was one hell of a Rollercoaster. The story was complex and rich and real. It showcases the imperfections or being human and the frailty of life. It’s action packed, emotional, terrifying, hilarious, and most of all it feels real. There are things and characters you love and ones you hate. Things you don’t want to happen that happens regardless because we are just watching a story unfold in an interactive way. We don’t get to dictate what happens to the characters in this brutal world, we get the privilege of seeing how they try to get through it. The writing is superb! The graphics are boggling and the game mechanics a delicious improvement on the mechanics of the first game. I really want multiplayer but that’s not important right now because holy biscuits this story.

    No one is a superhero in this world. Even Ellie who is immune, isn’t invulnerable. She can still die, just like anyone else who gets viciously torn apart by a clicker. Dina says it perfectly at the farm "Jesse didn't plan on dying, and neither did Joel". Dying isn't attractive no matter how its portrayed. In most cases, especially in the world of The Last of US, its unexpected and sudden. You survive until you don’t. A surprise bullet while running into the unknown to help a friend when you thought you were somewhere safe. Murdered with a pipe by someone who's life you just saved after softening from 5 years of safety and awkward love and getting old after 25 years in an apocalyptic world that has not been nice on your body.

    Ellie’s journey in this game is powerfully human. From the triumphs to the struggles, the good decisions and the bad, you can understand her perspective. You can’t help but question the lengths you would go to in her situation, even if you know what’ll happen. You may come to the thought that you would choose differently, but you can still get why she does it all.

    Abby… uhg ABBY. I am so conflicted about her. So much darkness, but so much tragedy and growth. Despite our love for the original characters, we can again come to understand Abby’s perspective and choices as the story unfolds. The desperation for her to restore some light in her world hits us, even as we disagree with and despise her actions. Then we come to support her other actions even if we still hate her.

    The supporting characters all around are so GOOD. They build the story alongside the main characters while growing and failing in their own ways with their own stories. They aren’t just fillers, they are a part of the world and the story being told. Even the npc’s you fight and kill throughout help tell the story with their own characters.

    The ending of it all fit, but I think it could have been better...maybe. It was a good ending, but it still felt like there could have been more. The flashback of seeing a peaceful Joel after only being able to see him in his brutal death shocked Ellie and I think fulfilled her goal. When she left the farm, she told Dina she couldn't get him out of her head, couldn't stop thinking about it all. She had to end it the only way she could think to move on. Whether it be from seeing the state of Abby and Lev after enduring who knows what as some form of punishment, not wanting to end up like Tommy, feeling empowered that she had overcome Abby and "won", or some other factor or combination, Ellie found some peace in that moment. At least enough to let it go, and return to her family. That said, I think what could have made it stronger and been a good specific trigger point was if Lev had begged Ellie to stop like Ellie had begged Abby. That combined with all the other factors prompting Ellie would have, I think, given stronger indication of growth and offered a release of turmoil. It would change things though, it would be a prompt as opposed to a natural occurrence which can feel stronger but does feel more… scripted. I can't say that its inherently better either way, but I can say I love this game regardless.

    You can't please everyone, especially with such a heavy game with real emotions that is beloved by many for good reason. Still, 10 years of dedication created a fantastic game to tell an amazing story that provokes thought and emotion thats not always pleasant. The confusing, convoluted reality that is the cycle of violence is laid bare with no room to hide from it. The Last of Us was never a happy story, it’s always been a good story.    … Expand

    Graphics, story telling, details, gameplay. Naughty Dog have outdone themselves again!

    The only reason I can see people giving the game a 1 star, is because of the death of Joel. But they don't see that having him killed in such a brutal manner is what pulls you into the game further.

    I usually try to sneak around as many enemies as possible, but for Part 2 I wanted to shoot, stab, burn and beat every Wolf I came across to death until I finally got to Abby!

    ... Then the game flips you on your head, and makes you play as her... At first I didn't like it, but as you progress you start to understand Abby and almost begin to want her to win over Ellie!
    Thats only possible through the story telling, and this game has mastered it.

    I haven’t play this game yet, i have seen only some gameplay and several reviews. I think that this game doesn’t deserve all this bad votes. For all the content that guarantees is a 7/10 minimum, also if you hate the story.
    I put this 10 only to compensate all this nonsense vote of this salty people that have seen some leaks to judge with 0 a 25 hour game... the people like only to    I haven’t play this game yet, i have seen only some gameplay and several reviews.     Greatest game ever!! I feel sorry that people didn’t understand the meaning of the ending or the story line in general. That’s how life works and especially in survival environment. Good job “Naughty Dog” for being true to yourselves. You are a great example for game company to follow.

The characters models as well are extremely well done.     Game play: Yes it’s a little dated compared other faster playing games and the controls feel sometimes clunky just like the original, but it wasn’t broken then and isn’t now. Knowing that that your character is likely to sometimes stall at an obstacle and can’t wall jump, back-flip or negotiate the chapters like a professional free runner adds to the thrill of the combat in the sometimes claustrophobic environments.

    Music Voice Acting and Sound effects : Are all fantastic and you can feel the emotion and effort put in by the actors.

    Story: I Loved it in the end! This game took me on a roller coaster of emotions, I felt happy, sad, angry, shocked and at certain points numb in a complete state of disbelief. I love complex characters and the main characters choices in this story can seem wrong or not what you would expect. Once I finished it I sat back and went over their points of view I came to the conclusion that what I thought I wanted out of this sequels story wasn’t what I got but it did everything a good story does and that doesn’t make it a bad one!    … Expand

    Despite what others said, the story is incredible. At first I was as angry as Ellie for what happened to Joel, but after playing as Abby, I knew that she was in the right, she had more rights to revenge than Ellie, even though I liked Ellie more, I was rooting for Abby during their confrontation.

    The game is a masterpiece. Carefully directed, it engages you in a story that develops in an Oscar-movie style. The mechanics are great, weapons and fights feel amazingly real and brutal. Setting of post-apocalyptical Seattle is beautifully made. Really it is a pleasure to play the game, it holds you tight until you see the final titles. Strongly like!

He is a survivor and don’t trust anyone and then he go all in into a house full of armed strangers and say his name for who could wanna know... it just doesn’t fit easy. Tried to thing that he relaxed after living some years into a trustful town/society, that Ellie changed him and after the Firefly massacre he tried to change for her, bit it still seems forced. But even with this the game is almost perfect and the best one for ps4. Not by far the “zeros” that so many “gta generation” are putting here, bit they have the right. And I tgink, and gope, that there will (or at least would be before so many haters) a third part for the story, by the way that this one developed and finished, bit who knows.

    Great gameplay. Suberb graphics. About the story, at the beginning I found it frustrating, but after finishing the game I found it great.

    Think in it taking “Game of Thrones” perspective. No one is so important that could not die (in stupid ways sometimes) and the story goes on for another characters independent and without show it to us.

    I personally disliked the need to show Ellie has homossexual into the dlc at the first game (probably to creat polemic, not because she is homo, but cause she is the only immune being, and in a apocalyptic world it means no immune decendents), and it is cause the last midia histories are tending to show all strong and independent womans as homossexual, and this isn’t true. But they showed the relationship of the main in a good way.

    No confusing or unrealistic end for me, it was the enconter of two opposites: one going from a vengeance ravok that turned her into a monster and after fuffiling it started to think at the worngness of all that and being tired of the killing (Abby), thanks for the changes and deaths of her friends and being save by enemies morr than one time; other one finally finding a good life and than loosing it in a violent way, turning herself a monster, making her loose sleep, friends, love, home, until in the end she realize that fulfilling it would bring her nothing, abandoning her revange (even apparently it being to late for her to be happy). “They killed hundreds and regreat to kill their mostly hated ones, it has no sense”, but the other killing were for auto defense and to reach their objectives and were part of the “tiredness process”, showed in cutscenes, in game dialogues and changes into character appearance and in game disposition. Abby no killing Ellie is justified for all suffering and the conscience that she brings it for her and her friends and her change after being safe and saving her enemies and seeing the craziness of a war into a apocalyptic world at the Island.
    Ellie not killing Abby is justified cause her essence was good, the revenge make her loose friends, home and love, and at the last moment, into a game part that show her visibility tired and depressed, physically hurt, she sees the emptiness of it all.

    A controversial game that will not be for everyone, specially the ones that pay bo attention for all story, but for me a almost perfect game and the best one for PS4, a great closure for this console.    … Expand

This game is a masterpiece, no piece of media has left me so emotionally wrecked, they orchestrated this perfectly. The symbolism and attention to detail invested into this story is amazing. It leaves you exploring concepts and characters for days, having you invested in storylines you thought you never could have been. The gameplay is also 10/10, the improvement in the enemy classes of the infected is just on a whole new level. Fighting human enemies is equally as fun as they introduce this sense of gritty realism into the play style. I went into this game open minded after the leaks which I surprisingly avoided and I have to say I absolutely love this game it’s not just a story about revenge it’s way more than that it gives you perspective, it shows you what this world is actually like which is dark and cruel, a lot of people are saying well this character deserved better and I think that for the people that are saying that maybe this genre just isn’t for you because in a world like this it doesn’t matter who you are or if your a good or bad person none of that determines how your last breath will come and that’s what makes this so fascinating EVERYTHING feels so real, especially with the great facial animations and just overall acting in this game is phenomenal, another thing that I love about this game just like the first is Ellie, this game shows you that just because she’s gotten older doesn’t mean she all of a sudden likes to kill, no. She has a hard time with it she’s in pain and well disgusted at the thing she’s doing just to get to this one person and what I love so much about the ending is that by the end she realizes this, she realizes that this path she took didn’t make things better it made things for her so so much worse and you see some of her humanity return to her by the decision she makes in the end and I for one really loved that, there’s a new character in this game which I’m sure everyone knows now Abby, and while I’m neutral on how I feel about her I have to say her motivations to do the thing she does at the beginning of the game is absolutely 100% justified in my eyes and that’s all I’ll say on that because I don’t want to go too deep into spoilers. Abby is a **** person and she realizes that and wants to become a better overall person which is why she goes on the journey she goes on in this game, and I have to say while there is so much Abby hate some her sections in this game are absolutely insane especially the hospital and her final section, both really great and just VERY fun to play through, and the graphics in this games are absolutely phenomenal I mean if the PS4 wants to shows it’s full power before next gen this game sucked everything out of this console to do just that and it was amazing, the gameplay again in my opinion was some of the most satisfying and just overall fun time I’ve ever had playing a game, so yea by the end of it I love this game so much I’ve gone through it twice and enjoyed the hell out of it both times I’d recommend this game to anyone just for the full on insane experience and emotional rollercoaster this game puts you through, 10/10 for me.… Expand

The most explicitly gay stuff you see is kissing and general cuteness between girlfriends, if you think that's an agenda then I don't know what to tell you, you live in a bubble and queer folks exist, get over it.

    It's pretty grim and gruesome, the deaths are a lot more hard hitting. If you shoot someone in the leg and they bleed out, they'll scream and writhe for several seconds, there's more fear in their faces when you kill them, they sometimes beg for their lives, the people watching their friends die are more authentically messed up by it, stuff like that. Not something that will bother everyone, but I'd say that's the nastiest bit of the game in terms of overall gameplay. Once again if you're more offended by a bit of boob and a consensual sex scene, IDK what to tell you. There's also a bit of weed use and a mention of a grumpy old alcoholic, if those are deal breakers for you.

    Graphics are amazing, sound design is great, and the gameplay itself is very similar to the first game, but just a little bit better. IMO it's perfect, I hate when they change too much in the sequels when the original was so good. If it's not broke don't fix it, you know? And The Last of Us Part II honours that, it basically expanded on the original combat without changing much at all. Oh, except one thing - Clickers ACTUALLY use echolocation now (they just used hearing in the first game) and they don't bloody tell you, I must have died a dozen times before I realised they can "see" you if you stand in front of them while they're making noises.

    As for the rest... basically it's a game about how much you can mess yourself up in the pursuit of revenge. It's a game that hurts you then tells you to get over it, because staying angry will only ever leave you unsatisfied and unhappy. It's true to life, moreso than most of us would like, and at times it's frustrating, tedious, or even in-your-face insulting. The game doesn't care if you like it or not, it doesn't care if it makes you feel bad, and it doesn't care about making you feel better. Pretty much every criticism I've seen against the game so far (that this plot point should have been different, that the pacing is weird, that you don't care about that character, that you're not satisfied with the ending, etc) can be answered with "yes, I know, that's literally the point." Once you get your head around that, it's a good game that achieves exactly what I believe it set out to achieve.

    If that sounds interesting to you then I say go for it, maybe watch a playthrough first (I recommend JackSepticEye or GabSmoulders purely because they seems to be the only YouTubers thus far who actually get it) or wait for it to come on sale, or keep your eyes open on marketplaces online or CEX and similar trade-in stores, I'm sure there will be a lot of copies there soon enough. Do actually play the game though if you want to criticise it, and be wary of those with generic copy/paste reasons for disliking it, such as an unsatisfying ending or a dislike for the "PC agenda" it doesn't have.    … Expand

    I'm writing this review in hopes the games gets the praise it deserves.
    Graphics are phenomenal, the best of the best on the current gen, the attention to detail, the lighting, the shading, the effects, e v e r y t h i n g.
    Music fits perfectly with everything, the sound is also really realistic and well made.

    Where people seem to have an issue with is how the story is tailored, people were expecting good old Ellie and Joel adventure, and the game would've been just fine had they done it this way, but Naughty Dog chose the uncommon way, taking a lot of risks and, in my opinion, succeeding at it.
    Naughty Dog picks the story 4 years after the first one in a setting where everything seems to be fine, playing the guitar with joel etc.
    They introduce us to another character - Abby - which is majorly the reason people are despising this game.
    Abby kills Joel and that fact alone pushed a lot of people away, people reviewing the game by playing only about 3h of a 30+hour game
    After the death of joel the people who kept playing experienced the violent and gorish side of Ellie, and her pursuit to kill Abby, but, at some point Abby has the upper hand on Ellie and the developers leave you on a huge cliffhanger "is Ellie dead??" and right then an there you enter a 10hour long Abby side of the story, this reeeeally threw people off, why would you want to play as the person who killed you beloved joel? And even in my case i didn't want to play as her, all i wanted was Ellie and more Ellie and moments of her and Joel and violence and her killing Abby, BUT at some point you gain empathy with Abby, you understand her side, the whole story of her and the "scars" children is one of the more rich aspects of the whole last of us story.
    After the whole Abby arc you get back to where Abby confronted Ellie and this part is like Naughty Dog is just completely playing with the heart of the player, you get put in a position like no other where you have to sneak up on Ellie and just destroy her with punches about 3 times, this scene alone invokes feeling I have NEVER felt in a videogame before "i dont wanna do this WTF??" but at the same you know the things Abby has gone through because of Joel and Ellie's decisions. At the end Abby leaves Ellie alone and we get a time skip to Ellie living in a perfect setting with DIna, the "happy ending" right? Hell no, Naughty Dog is not done, they push it further, Ellie leaves the house at some point against Dina's request to stay by her side with the baby. We enter the final arc, Ellie pursues Abby to the place she and the "scar" kid were kidnapped to.
    The moment they meet again Abby is just DONE, skinny-short-haired abby doesn't even care about anything other than getting away with the kid. Ellie has a flashback of her murdering joel and they begin the final confrontation, but ellie has another flashback of joel playing the guitar and that triggers a thought of caring for someone, Abby caring for this kid like joel cared for Ellie, and then they go their separate ways.
    The game ends with Ellie getting to her "perfect" home again but it is empty besides her stuff, she picks up the guitar and starts playing the song that Joel taught her in the beginning of the game but it sounds a bit off due to the two bitten of fingers. She then leaves the home like some kind of open ending "where will she go and what will happen now?".

    Last of Us II is by no means a perfect game, i think the story could've been tailored just a bit differently and the gameplay could've been more innovative, but that doesn't mean it is not a amazing, like the first game you still feel the same emotions, but they added a lot more and gave steroids to every each one of it.

    The Last of Us II is a game that will be remembered forever, many many people don't like getting played with their emotions this way, but if you open your mind and get past through that uncomfortableness you SEE the amazing game it is, you understand the choices of the developers and you get something like no other game does.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No começo fiquei muito puto quando Joel morreu, pensava que de nenhuma forma eles poderiam reverter aquilo. Aí começa uma jornada maravilhosa com a Ellie com vários momentos marcantes e matando muitos dos que faltavam para sua vingança, faltando basicamente a então vilã do jogo, Abby, porém ela que acaba encontrando Ellie e até então ela iria mata-lá, nesse momento que o jogo faz uma coisa única e que me surpreende completamente, ele nos faz jogar com a Abby e mostra o seu lado na história, me deixando puto de início por que eu a odiava mas já no início de sua gameplay já nos mostra o por que de seu ódio ao Joel, Abby era filha do cirurgião que Joel matou, já fazendo a gente gostar mais da personagem, e no desenrolar da trama nós já estamos gostando muito da Abby e não querendo que ela morra e voltamos a parte que ela iria matar a Ellie e deixa ela viver entendendo que a vingança não iria resolver nada e a perdoando, Ellie acaba se estabilizando com Dina e vivendo normal mas não deixa a vingança de lado e parte para voltar e tentar acabar com Abby fazendo um final impactante e maravilhoso. The Last of us part 2 é um jogo incrível e te trás uma experiência diferente e jamais vista nos vídeo games, em quesitos de história, gameplay, jogabilidade é quase perfeito e pra mim não há nenhuma outra nota possível a não ser um 10.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Para mi el juego es una maravilla, lo disfrute y creo que a muchos tambien, es increible como se logra un juego de este calibre. Para empezar la jugabilidad es increible, la protagonista me gusto conecte mas con ella en este juego y entedi sus motivaciones ya sean malas ya que la venganza es algo serio que no se toma a la ligera y creo que entendi el porque no lo hizo al final, el soundtrack estuvo adecuado en los momentos de tension, la historia en si tiene muchos fallos, creo que la alargaron mucho al momento de sentirse cansado pero puedes dejarlo de largo y pasarla increible. Reciente mente se armos la polemica de varios que odiaron el juego, quiero decir que sus argumentos son estupidos nada mas porque otros lo dicen lo que vale es tu opinion y mi opinion es que ,e gusto el juego, quisiera agradecer en persona a neil drunkman por haberlo hecho y lo mismo para naugthy dog, es un juego exelente con mucho valor y tambien para todos aquellos involucrados en el porque se que fue agotador hacerlo. El juego es un deleite y su polemica por su historia, si dejas de largo el tema planteado no pasara nada es de hecho un plus del juego para humanizar a los personajes, que sientas que en verdad sufren porque se eso se trata esta arte, de conectar con lo que estas viendo y last of us part 2 conecto mucho conmigo y espero que con muchos haya conectado. Aquellos que no esta bien su opinion es respetada pero si lo vuelven un escandalo como ya lo hicieron al final sabran que estan equivocados y que a mucha gente si le gusto. Pero claro el juego tiene muchas fallas, como la muerte de cierto personaje y el personaje de abby que al principio estuvo bien pero al final no me gusto y tampoco me gusto que le dieran el papel co portagonista pero a pesar de todo last of us part 2 es un exelente juego. 100 de 10. gracias… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
