    If I knew I would be playing a new character maybe I would rate this game differently. Game is beautiful and well directed. However, for me it is a spin off. I have waited fir sequel.

    Best sequel ever created. An incredible continuation of Ellie's story. I don't understand why the game is so disliked. Can't there be a relationship between two girls in a post-apocalyptic world? Or or did you all give a low grade because of Dina's armpits? Let's see what kind of armpits you will have in a post-apocalyptic world.

Graphics, smoothness, sound oh the sound, gets me like only a nostalgic runescape Esque sound could! I do not know what the developers had to do crunch wise to get this game working so perfectly...
    After any deaths, the loading screen is virtually instant to load back in (2 seconds    Absolute Masterpiece... is it perfect? No, but it’s the closest the gaming industry has come in my opinion.     After any deaths, the loading screen is virtually instant to load back in (2 seconds max)... the colour pallet, the scenery, THE OCEAN WAVES, best water animation I have seen! Now, why isn’t it perfect? In my opinion this would have been an absolute perfect 3rd rendition of the series, the reason I saw this is because I so desperately wanted more of the 1st game again. And this is just such a flip, story wise. Takes away a lot of what people loved in the first, so I can see where people’s criticisms come from. However, for me the story is so bold, risky and so ever present of real life, it just hits my emotions so hard, and I couldn’t love that feeling more (as sad as a lot of it is)

    The sun rays And location displayed in the first chapter, is something I wish I could have played for longer! Imagine this as an open world, playing so smoothly! Other devs take a note,,, I’ll be expecting this quality in ps5 to rate another game as 10! Even the gameplay super fun, moments that scared me, moments that made me feel as if I just just just survived with no ammo, or gear left.

    Ohhhh I wish for some DLC or a 3rd game soon... don’t make it another 7 years please! But if it is 7 years away, wow it will be worth the wait!    … Expand

There is this part that you have to play with killer of joel.. I mean its all right but its a half of the game! But I did give it a chance and I feel like I enjoyed the that part.. but I feel like it should be like dlc or something! Give Ellie that time!     This game is an masterpiece, you guys are just biased, it's still got a masterful story better than part 1 and the gameplay is addicting and otherworldly. Might be the best PS4 exclusive of all time.

    Amazing , Fantastic , EMOTIONAL , don't know any words to describe this legendary game better Bioshock Infinite was the best game I've ever played before I play TLOU 2 , but now I can just appreciate naughty dog studios for developing such a game for all of us .

    This game is one of the many masterpieces Naughty Dog has brought us but it can easily be the best. It's inclusive, has a marvelous and emotional story, gameplay is super fun and complex, looks photorealistic and has an amazing soundtrack that deserves an award all by itself . Game of the Year without any doubt.

    Ottimo gioco, sicuramente un capolavoro che rimarrà nella storia dei videogiochi.
    Un pò lunga la parte con Abby, non mi è piaciuta la scelta di far giocare metà gioco con l'assassino di Joel.
    Sarebbe bastato dare 1/4 di storia ad Abby per conoscere e comprendere il suo punto di vista.

It still contains ND'd "narrow corridors" both from a gameplay and a storytelling perspective. However, while this worked in the Uncharted games and TLOU I, since you could    I have never played a game where you (the player) is so disconnected from the main character.

    This game breaks alle of Naughty Dogs previous styles and storytelling formulas, unfortunately not in a positive way. It still contains ND'd "narrow corridors" both from a gameplay and a storytelling perspective. However, while this worked in the Uncharted games and TLOU I, since you could understand the characters actions, it does not work in TLOU II, since the actions of the main characters and beyond any reason, that the player is heavily disconnected from the story. Maybe the writers tried to be to clever, since it does not work very well.

    The whole experience is very frustrating since you (as the player) have no options to interact with the story (as per ND's tradition). Every sane and intelligent person would have chosen to act differently than the characters of TLOU II in various instances.    … Expand

Des interactions intéressant (exemple lorsqu'il faut jouer de la guitare via le pavé tactile. La sensibilité est là quand vous souhaitez jouer telle ou telle corde de la guitare sèche). Le crafting et les affrontements face aux ennemis ne changeUne aventure épique et une histoire très émouvante. It could have been a masterpiece of all times, but somehow the author decided to throw all those ambitions away and gave us most disgusting plot ever... I really hate it! Compared to the original it’s a total trash! But, anyway, I really enjoyed the gameplay and the setting. This game is visually gorgeous!     This game left me breathless. We played it straight after TLOU1 so that was still fresh in our minds...and what an intense continuation of the story this was!

    But from a storyline point of view I was anxious to reach the end so I could find out what happened!
    This story was COMPELLING. The writers and performers did an amazing job at creating characters who I both cared deeply about, while shaking my head at their major flaws and poor choices.The score of fully-realised secondary characters was just as impressive, each with their own equally compelling journeys. This game was not simply ‘good guy bad guy’, this was exploring very real (painfully real) human beings in a world where the infection isn’t the worst enemy nor are the infected the worst type of monsters. But that just made the moments of human connection, humour and kindness all the more powerful.
    This game was brilliant. Extremely violent, to be fair, but also incredibly beautiful, from the design, to the music, to the themes and characters that are going to stay with me for a long time.

    This game had a lot to live up to, and quite frankly it failed miserably in the one aspect that people loved about the predecessor so much; the writing.

    The first game admitably had little in ways of a clever/ interesting plot, and yet it remains as a prime example of a masterclass in pacing and consistency. TLoU2 has nothing in comparison to the first game's narrative delivery.

    One too many times I was left asking why and how, all for the wrong reason. One too many times the plot and narrative progression just feel so oxymoronically stupid that anyone would be remiss if they thought this writing can make for a good story, let alone any semblance of likeability in any of the cast in this game.

    Not many games have left me, my family, friends, coworkers, online acquaintances all saying the same remark in regards to a fictional work; "Somebody wrote this... somebody actually wrote this and said it's fine to shove it out the door?", this game is sadly one such example.

    Neil Druckmann claimed that he and his team broke conventions with this game's narrative when all he did is show how confused he is in how to follow up the first game at best, pander to his own writer's ego at worst.

    Dual narrative with players going through the opposite sides of the narrative has been done prior; Halo 2's arbiter missions felt shoehorned to most and yet it was well done and further helped built the Halo universe, GTA 5 pretty much forced players to contend with some characters they'll likely find unlikeable and yet persisting through them all end up with some levity and ultimately a sense of satisfaction, etc.

    The only way someone can rightly claim this game as breaking convention is if they consider wasting their target audience's time as such a feat.

    If you want a satisfying narrative experience, even the newly release Ghost of Tsushima does it better than this game... and the former's overall narrative is neither clever or groundbreaking, yet it's a rewarding and wholesome experience in comparison.    … Expand

    Yo hey guys, So I'm a new rising reviewer and I just played through the last of us blind. This is not a good game, and I am a massive fan of the first....
    To sum things up quite quickly the game for me would have been a solid 4 or 5. This is due to its gorgeous graphics and somewhat polished controls. The game has not done anything to evolve significantly gameplay wise. In saying so there were more situations in which the game offered multiple tactics in order to progress which I liked. The game's NPC's are not that great and the overall pacing of the game is constant unlike the first. This made the game feel long and just one big drag.
    However the Last of Us part 2 deserves a big 0.
    This game is constantly forcing a political agenda down my throat whether I like it or not. Numerous times I wanted to just turn off the game however for the sake of making an unbiased review I hammered on towards the end. Why make these sort of statements in something we play as an escape from reality? So stupid and unnecessary.
    I have been a big fan of Naughty Dog over the years but this is the game that ruined it for me. A lot of fans of the original will find this game extremely disappointing.
    Save your money and stay clear of this one.
    If you ever so happen to play the first one again, make sure to take out every single person in that hospital.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can only conclude that most negative reviews are because of an expectation vs reality factor. People wanted Ellie & Joel part 2 and they were given something very different. If you sit deep in your expectations and refuse to go with the story then you will ultimately have a disappointing experience, but if you are open to being led wherever the story needs to go then this game is the most compelling and satisfying experience that you can have with a videogame. This game is better than the first in almost every way. Graphics, music, storytelling, acting are all superb. But the true brilliance is the way in which Naughty Dog challenge the good guy/bad guy convention of videogames. In TLOU2, just as in real life, there are no good and no bad guys, there are simply people doing what they need to do to make it through. The switch from Ellie to Abby means that we are invested in both characters and the final fight - being asked to pummel a character you deeply care about - is emotionally tough. I have never been asked to do something in a videogame that I have not wanted to do. It was an incredible experience and well earned.

    I wonder whether it is this close-to-life experience that people did not like. Gamers are used to breaking from reality and escaping into very black and white worlds and perhaps it is what they need to make it through the sometimes bleakness of the real world. But I appreciate this game all the more for taking a risk and challenge convention. I applaud Naughty Dog for the direction in which they have taken the game. It would have been very easy to simply do Joel and Ellie again with better weapons and new enemies - the common fare for most video game sequels. They haven't. They have created something far more interesting and complex. The characters have evolved and grown and we are asked, just as we were with the first game, to think and question.

    I can only hope that a third is on the way. And to those who feel let down, I wonder whether with time and distance and expectation abated, you may revisit this and find the game to be the truly remarkable masterpiece that I do.    … Expand

I cried while playing/going through the end and this is the first time ever that I have cried after finishing a game. I am a person whose favourite game was God Of War (2018) until I finished this game. In my opinion to really enjoy this game, one must be patient and have an unbiased mindset. Of course Joel was one the most lovable characters and what happened to him towards the beginning was extremely heartbreaking. However, I loved Abby and her character arc. Even felt bad for her at times because maybe the game was about Empathy after all and I am in empathetic person. I am not even talking about the tiny details that NaughtyDog had put throughout the whole game. The mechanics, graphics and detailing is extremely good. Lastly, in my opinion The Last of Us Part 2 is a much better and a diverse game than The Last of Us. The Last of Us Part 2 is without question game of the generation and deserves game of the year.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game had an almost insurmountable task of following the first, but manages to do so in an unexpected and innovative way. Gameplay, graphics, and sound are as impressive as the first, and shows a natural evolution despite some predictable human A.I. The story structure was completely unique. The revenge cliche still feels like a slight drawback, but the way it’s done makes it so much more than that. Perhaps even more than the first, this is a game of consequences. It’s about different experiences from different perspectives. How Joel’s choices impacted Ellie’s and Abby’s, into how Abby’s impacts Ellie’s, and how Ellie’s impacts Abby’s. There’s no one to root for in this game, and that will leave a bad taste in some peoples mouths. I feel like Ellie killing Abby May have been a more logical ending, though it has left me wondering what’s next for these characters. This is a complicated story that will hit each player differently. 9.5/10… Expand

    While there was quite a a bit of the story that left something to be desired, the gameplay itself was fantastic. Many of the mechanics left the same or improved upon, visuals stunning, and an overall great game.

    A worthy follow-up to a PS3/4 classic. The two contrasting story of Ellie and Abby that comes to a head in an epic final combat is one of the best in gaming history.

    Everything about this game is exceptional. The story is seamless and the graphics are near on perfect. This game is larger than the first and you can certainly tell when walking around the beautiful environments Naughty Dog have created. If I had one Criticism it would be that it had to end! I pray for a part 3 to wrap up the story.

    On display is cinema-grade scripting and performance. The game delivers characters that are meaningful and resonate emotionally. The gameplay is slick and polished, while the combat feels heavy and consequential in a way few games come close to matching. Everything is wrapped-up in an industry-leading presentation, with graphics, visual design, and sound that will leave your jaw on the floor. The content provided is incredibly generous for a narrative experience—with even a quick first play-through lasting around 25 hours (mine was over 32 hours).

    The plot has come in for some particular—and wholly unjustified—criticism. At this level of storytelling characters are conflicted and not all plot threads lead to a happy end. The very plot devices that have been criticised by others can be found in some of the greatest works of literature ever produced.

    In the end, I think people will eventually come to view TLoU2 in a similar light to Empire Strikes Back. Yes, it's the "slower, more philosophical one with an open ending", but once the trilogy is complete everyone will understand that this is where the real meat of narrative arc lies.    … Expand

The narratives on the collectibles were just not as memorable to me as in the first game, like when tracking Ish through his notes, or the doctor's notes in the hospital.
    Part 2 is also a bit more emotionally draining than TLOU-1. Gameplay and trophy-hunting is a bit too easy.
    Also, no multiplayer :(

    I've completed the game twice, once on the Survivor+. I feel if you don't pay close attention to all the game dialogue and information on collectible notes, much of what the game is going for will be lost on you.
    It's definitely a game I'll return to and play favorite chapters and sequences again.    … Expand

So here's the deal, the graphics are amazing, 90% of the game is just cinematic. 10% game play at best. That being said the 10% game play is pretty boring and repetitive. The thing that discouraged me from playing through it a 2nd time is the story is just awful. It goes no where, you don't really care about the main characters and its just very poorly written for you to be fully engaged. I feel like its so bad that this could have been just an expansion released rather than a stand alone title. Definitely not worth 60.00. Pure disappointment.… Expand

    This game I played without any spoilers, leaks or similar issues. Enjoyed it thoroughly, definitely my favourite game series of all time.
    Definitely worth a purchase :-)

    i understand that the characters from the original have grown, but there situation really hasnt, yet their personas have changed too much from the first game to the point where I don't recognise them anymore.

    Ther is no character development the characters felt bleak and the story was quite boring in a sense I would not recommend this game and it is an embarrassment as well as a disappoint meant to good games all around

    Gameplay it's nice, better than the first part, the developers made a good work with that. The music it's right, not forgettable, not lovable, just right, there's some melodies that you end up singing without noticing but the rest are just meh.     This game is a masterpiece. It has refined the gameplay mechanics of the first bring TLOU truly into this generation. It tells a story that has taken a lot of flak online but when you dive deep into it it's a tremendous story of 2 women driven by revenge and the consequences of those actions. A must play for anyone who loves complex storytelling and for pretty much everyone that owns a PS4.

    The last of us part 2 has amazing graphics, but that was something I didn’t doubt ND would get wrong. IT LOOKS GOOD! Voice acting phenomenal and as well the soundtrack the soundtrack. The gameplay is fun with Ellie and Abby. It’s just the word (Disappointing) is what comes to mind when I think about how the story was told and well yea 5/10.

    Прошёл игру уже дважды в течение одного месяца и она мне не наскучила. Мне даже ведьмака спустя много лет не хочется перепроходить. Для меня это идеальная линейная игра, и как мне кажется, полюбил я её на многие годы.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
