Technologically advanced, but the most important factor, the story, did not take center stage. The biggest problem is that making abby as playable character. Perhaps the producer induced Abby to understand her revenge more by playing it ourselves, but I would say it was a big mistake. The most important thing when we understand others is the position of a third party. This is where altruism works because humans can never be anyone else. However, when he is busy cursing the character who killed the main character of previous and the representative character of this franchise, which user would be able to understand? If only they had made Ellie playable and showed Abby's story only through video, there might have been users who understood even a little bit. During the game, when the transition from Elly to Abby was made, the level of immersion in the game dropped sharply.This eventually faded the subject of vengeance that Naughtydog pursued.The second problem is of course the killing of Joel.     Graphics... That's the only good thing about this. Everything else is either mediocre or down right awful. The game play did not evolve one bit since 2013. It's still a walking simulator that's more a movie than a game, which would be enjoyable if it had a good story but God damn is it bad. The story simply broke my heart and not in the good way. It's like a spit in the face of the entire fan base. It's like the worst fan fiction you could possibly find. Seriously? This is what you came up after 7 years? Did Twitter write this game? It's full of plot holes and the characters you fell in love with in the first game are completely ruined and you are forced to play with the character that ruined them. I don't mind the woke stuff but when so much of it is obviously forced down your throat it feels like the entire game was built around it so if people don't like it you can pull the victim card and say that they are ists and phobes and whatever. And the director to preach so much about sexualising women in games is bad only than to put that Abby scene in the game? I can't unsee that. WTF were you thinking? I'd rather watch 2 girls one cup on repeat while eating. Let me tell you a little secret western game devs. People are playing games for entertainment and they'd rather see pretty things while doing it than ugl.. excuse me FUGLY ones! This is never going to change. How is sexualising men was never an issue? People don't like to be preached to and to be told what to think. In a video game setting, that choice should be always ours.
    Overall, I don't recommend this, especially if you were a fan of the previous one. maybe buy it when it's on a massive sale. Shame    … Expand

    You don't need a good history anymore, just put some teenage drama and some artificial relashionships while demolish the one relashionship that we are realy invested. So tired of swallowing progressive propaganda in my games. Leave the gamer alone **** SWJ. Besides that this game has poor, contrived writing that is just trying to prove a point.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Прошёл игру и теперь точно игра хорошая, но не шедевр. Не смотря на то, что это не то что мы ждали, сюжет в общем хороший.
    Самое худшее для меня, это персонажи, которые не интересны. Дина самый слабый персонаж, можно было вырезать из игры и все стало бы лучше.
    Так же ноти доги прогнулись абсолютно перед всеми, кроме тех перед кем реально нужно было. В игре одни фемки, трансы, лесби и чёрные. Нет ни одной симпатичной девушки, почти нет ни одного сильного мужика лидера, с если и есть, то его обязательно выпилят, например Джоэл или Мэнни, моя оценка 7/10

    One of this generation’s defining achievements. Slick, versatile combat/stealth mechanics. Impeccable visuals and world-building. Masterly use of tension and release. Some of the best voice acting in gaming. And a gripping non-linear narrative that pushes the medium forward.

    The 'gameplay' is so few and far between that when the cutscenes are taken out of a 15 hour game you're perhaps left with around half of that as gameplay, when I mean gameplay around half of my time was spent walking or running between 'zones' there's no focus on exploration at all and is in many ways even more linear than the original. The downtime between gameplay is astoundingly obnoxious. When theres actual gameplay its refreshing to be met with a fresher take on the originals combat and I enjoyed the lethality it represented. Ignore fake 10 review scores and masterpiece buzzwords, don't be a corporate sympathiser. The criticism leading up to the game is wholeheartedly justified. Reviewers that gave this game a perfect score have now handed in their credibility as reviewers and should no longer be taken seriously. This is false advertising and its now clear that they were paid off. Nobody that respects the original would rate this game perfect especially over the dozen reviewers that rated it perfect for a flash of their name on the posters especially when the story is so controversial, its impossible to rate them all the same. Metacritic are also losing credibility to support a platform for reviewing.    … Expand

    Despite what the trolls said, this game is truly an amazing game. The graphic, the mechanics, sound, voice acting are all incredible. The story may not be what people expected, but that's the beauty of it. I love every single second of this game!

It's just hard seeing Joel die in like the first 2 hours man , I can see that in the long run it wss a vengance story , and it makes it more "realistic" but couldn't they have dóne THE story different ?     So as a mainly social gamer I don’t have the time to play a million games and the majority of the time I definitely don’t complete the game. But I played this through and finished it. So I guess that sums up how I feel about this and pretty much any Naughty Dog production. Well done!! Again

Antes, tenho que deixar claro que The Last of Us 2 é uma continuação horrível do primeiro jogo que se tem o foco de duas histórias, a história da Ellie (que luta pela morte do seu "pai" Joel) e a história da Abby (outra que luta pela morte do seu pai que foi morto na cirurgia). A história do jogo é muito incoerente em algumas partes, como assim? Bem, uma hora tem algo do passado, outra tem algo do presente, aí tem algo do futuro, aí tem as duas personagens principais também e isso deixa o jogo com uma história cansativa, a Naughty Dog deveria ter feito o seguinte, ter dividido as duas histórias e seguir diante com elas. O gráfico tá muito bom, mas não falo que é impressionante, porque me lembrou de Unchato 4. A gameplay está bem melhor que a do primeiro jogo (MORTE AOS CACHORROS DA WLF), houve uma grande melhora na IA dos inimigos, mas não quer dizer que tem algumas partes do jogo que estão bugadas pra *******. A trilha sonora como eu disse na primeira visão do que eu vi, tá impactante. No geral, pra mim, The Last of Us 2 é uma lição de vida, que nem toda continuação será melhor que a primeira obra.… Expand

Lets utilize FALSE ADVERTISING to trick and steal money from people who were so excited for the continuation of ellie and Joel. I'm angry, at the trickery. I'm angry at the failure to gain depths beyond these paper thin filler characters. The retcon of abbie. Terrible terrible terrible. I do not care about graphics and game-play. graphics are fantastic. Game-play, meh. ever play the first? there you go. The accessibility options are phenomenal. The story is utter hot garbage. Not even close to being enjoyable. I don't need to have fun to play a game, but i damn sure need enjoyment from the product. This was a failure, and it is the last time i ever support naughty dog. Let me be clear, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONES GENDER OR SEXUALITY. Ellie became an idiot in her choices based around joel and a few others but never due to her sexuality or gender. Joel became a fool, because plot demanded it. Abbie is a terribly written, horribly implemented retcon that deserves every intentional death she is put through. I don't care about lev. Oh your trans. Ok. good for you. I still don't care about you, you are paper thin and getting on my nerves. NOT because you are trans, but because you are a terribly written character. This game could have used these elements in the story for a fascinating heart wrenching tale that was masterfully woven. Instead Neil Drukman took a big fat dump and titled it, the last of us part 2. This game is a zero for me, but i give it 2 points, 1 for accessibility, one for graphics. Everything else can ESOD. Let me also clarify, i always turn music off in games, and i cannot stand when it is force implemented. it robs a game of immersion IMO. That applies to me. The musical score is terrible, i do not enjoy it. That is due to my musical taste. That is not to say that it is not composed well or by a talented musician. I find it to also be hot garbage. Therefore let it be known, my review does not reflect it in score, i give it a complete pass over as unfavorable as it does not apply to my style of gaming. It aggravates and agitates me causing me to lose interest even further when forced. You may enjoy it. I do not.

    TLDR: Neil Drukman has the tummy rumblies and shoots a steaming pile all over the fans of TLOU with a terribly written dumpster fire that is TLOU PART 2, and not because of gender politics or agenda, while it is there, that is not the reason this game is terrible, the writing is.    … Expand

    The story, the graphics the game play and character design is absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to play the third part in 7 or 8 year “maybe”. It’s as good as the first original The Last Of Us game and I really recommend it to play, I think the last of us series is our generation game so stop reading all bad reviews and give it a shot.

    I do not understand how can a studio ruin such a beloved set of characters. I won't go into details regarding the story due to spoilers but... wow.

    Also, the gameplay is the same as the first game without adding to it. So when I consider the value of the game I focus a lot on the story and that, I really hated.

    Good graphics though... for whatever that's worth.

    Es un título que se debe jugar con la mente abierta ya que su protagonista es homosexual (aunque esto se deja claro en su primera entrega y aún más en su dlc Left Behind) y se presenta un personaje trans (claramente esto no tiene por qué afectar negativamente la historia pero en su tiempo mucha gente estaba enojada por este tipo de personajes) y también hay que ser maduros ya que personajes importantes mueren poniéndonos en la piel del asesino (otra cosa que ah sido muy criticada). Hay que tener en cuenta que es un mundo post apocalíptico dónde hay que tener mucha "suerte" para mantenerse con vida, por lo que es normal que muchos personajes mueran repentinamente. Cómo dice Joel: solo hemos tenido suerte y en algún momento se va a acabar.
    Es un juego mas que recomendable y extenso, siendo el doble de largo que el primero.

    First off, the game is visually stunning. It's absolutely beautiful to look at. The graphics are amazing. I did enjoy most, not all, but most of Ellie's play through. It was something I wanted to do after TLOU and I'm pleased to have had the opportunity to do so. My praise however, does stop there.

    Joel, Jesus that mess. It isn't the fact that he dies, it's just given the importance of the character, and the attachment people have to him, his death, at the stage in the game and HOW it happens literally makes no sense at all. If it came later in the game after playing as both Abby and Ellie for around half the overall gameplay then fine, but 2hrs into the game, in what is his second scene? No! Also, this is a man who spent the entire first game not trusting a sole, and then he's like, 'oh hey person I've just met, I'm Joel and this is where I live'. It just doesn't make sense at all. It isn't believable and the game lost me completely from there. Abby is not a likeable character at all from the very beginning. Whether you knew the leaks or not, her motive was given away within 5 minutes of her being on screen. There was no build, nothing, so you instantly had this dislike towards her, and then to have to play as that character? It doesn't make the game fun in any way. You can't relate to her at all because she isn't likeable. I can relate to Ellie wanting revenge for Joel. I could relate to Joel in TLOU for trying to protect Ellie. I can't get into the character of Abby at all and it takes away A LOT from the game. The ending also. Oh jeeez! The ending makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Am I to believe that I'm playing as Ellie, a character who has seen the person she practically see's as her Dad killed, Jesse killed, Tommy nearly killed, Dina bludgeoned to near death and have her fingers bitten off in the climactic fight, she lets the person who did all that walk away? It just doesn't make sense! Away from the story, the gameplay is exactly the same as TLOU, and the one gripe I had with that game is the mechanics felt clunky, and at times it feels worse here. The AI is also ridiculously stupid still. Much like Bill and Ellie in TLOU, Dina runs round like a headless chicken when infected and enemies are near and it's really frustrating. There's no doubt it's a political game. It's riddled with it, and there are a lot of moments where you roll your eyes and think, 'was that really a necessary addition'.

    The first game lived and died by the development of its characters and the story. Unfortunately, this game just doesn't have it. It's a major disappointment to the fans of the original, a huge kick in the face, and there's a certain stand-out moment during Joel's death where it felt Neil Druckmann was spitting directly in my face (go back and replay/watch it if need be, you'll get it).

    I think giving it a 4 is a fair assessment. The storyline and poor game mechanics alone have it that low, and I can't stand politics in movies or games when it doesn't add to the story, but the graphics deserve high praise and that's what keeps this game from being rated lower from me. Will this game make a lot of money? Yes, but not a chance in hell is it the 95+ that the 'critics' have it rated at.    … Expand

This is truly the last of this franchise. cant even go back to the original, complete missed opportunity and way to destroy a franchise, joins the **** with Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Terminator, time to get the gasoline out and roast some marsh mellows.

I also felt like the player spends too much time is Abby. I enjoyed playing as her, but I found my self wanting to jump back in as Ellie. That being said, this game is amazing. I kind of wish this "game" was just a movie or something, because at least then it would be condensed into 2 hours of suffering and probably be a lot cheaper.

    Also, for a company that calls itself Naughty Dog, you would think they would know how to program realistically moving dogs in their games. Unfortunately, I saw multiple occasions where a dog would somehow pivot and turn without moving its legs, like it's a freakin' M1A1 Abrams tank. I am pretty sure I've seen more convincing animation in games from 10+ years ago. Hopefully they'll at least patch that nonsense.

    I feel this game could have done so much better with a better pacing. I won't hate on it because you can see there was an effort talking about graphics, music and details. The script is where everything goes nuts and you see the relevant stuff happening way too fast and out of nowhere and some situations that should be short scenes go for way too long. I'm not against killing a character like Joel, but the execution of the whole scene fails because everything happens way too fast, out of nowhere and with no explanation with a character that we just got introduced to. While I think the story in the original was a bit better, I like how Naughty Dog took a few risks with this game. Splitting it in half and experiencing the game from Abby's perspective made me question everything I did as Ellie in the first half. It made an otherwise by the numbers revenge story more profound and really made you think about the repercussions of your actions. The events of this game are a direct response to Joel's actions at the end of part 1, and while I'm said he had to die it did make sense.

    The gameplay itself is a step up from its predecessor, even if it can be a bit janky at times. Otherwise a phenomenal game.

    Don't listen to the people trashing this game. The overwhelming majority of them are either angry that Joel died and didn't bother to keep playing long enough for the explanation, or pathetic little keyboard warriors who aren't happy that Ellie is gay. It makes no difference to me or the outcome of the story. If you don't like the game its fine, just have a good reason rather than spouting some triggered bull.    … Expand

The fighting feels dated at this point but some people might be wishing for that system to stay as it is. The problem is with story writing. I have no idea why they would try to make a game with gritty realism when the people that wrote the story feel so incredibly detached from reality. Basic human instincts and principles are broken to keep up an extremely hollow story about issues they have no real concept of. The game succeeds in subverting expectations but in the worst ways possible. If I could go back in time and avoid the game I most definitely would as even in the ending there was nothing else but disappointment. If you are just hoping for a satisfying resolution of the Ellie vs Abby story then just stop playing and save yourself the headache.… Expand
