    One of the best games i've ever played. It is a game that delivers what must be delivered, not what kids want. If you want to have the best experience um video games, play it! If you want to see something superficial and industrial as a product, i advice you to watch a princess movie.

    Within the first 2 and a half hours of this game I hated it. I did not like what I saw and where the story was going. I felt like the game was trying to force something on me and I was not happy. As I continued playing the gameplay kept me interested. The story started to build and I became captivated. And then right in the middle of the game it all changed. At this point I know what the story wanted me to feel; “take a step in someone else shoes”. To me, that did not matter. The sound work in this game was incredible and with the talented artist at Naughty Dog you can feel like you are there in the once populated, now abandoned, stores and houses in Seattle. You really feel like it’s storming outside your own home while playing. Even though I did not like playing the “second half” of the game I could not ignore the beautiful and creepy atmosphere round every corner. As I continued on playing, the game finally comes full circle to an event of crossing paths (I’m really trying not to spoil anything here). Let’s just say, this was even harder for me to play, so much so, that I kept allowing myself to die for satisfaction. If the game would have ended there I would have been even more pissed. My anger for revenge while playing the game grew more. Going through this story was rich with a lot of highs and lows, but differently more lows, however, nothing prepared me for what happened next. Naughty Dog as proved to me that they are The best at telling stories. I came into the game with a story of my own and wanted justice. I wanted to tell Naughty Dog how to tell this story. It wasn’t until the end of this game it ALL MADE SENSE. The moments in this game that I hated became understandable. I felt so sorry at the end. I use to beg for one thing to happened but when faced with it I put the controller down. I felt guilty and by the end I just saying “please don’t do this”. This story set heavy on me at the end. Feeling all kinds of emotion. I’ve never felt that way playing a game before. This is not a game you can just watch someone play to understand it. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF. This game will make you think about senseless deaths in video games and say, “who was that person? What’s their story”. To many people, you may not ever want to ask that question in a game. And 99.99% of games will never ask you too and that’s great. That’s what makes this game special because it does. And is revenge truly worth it. I’m in awe of this game and know that this game will age like fine wine. I was there to buy The Last of Us part One when it first came out. It had somewhat of a small following that grew over time. I have no doubt that the some of the people who hated the plot of this game will eventually try it; whether that be 3 years from now or 7 years. It’s always the consumer choice to buy what they want to play and I’m so glad I gave this game a chance even though the leaks of this game made me not want to. This game is a 10/10.… Expand

    I felt so much playing this game, things I had never felt before. I got into its emersive history and I felt privileged for every moment in this game. One of the best experiences I've ever had.

    This Game is a masterpiece, one of the best games I've played. The gameplay is awesome, the story is fair and really touching! Naughty Dog is an incredible studio. Don't be influenced by haters, judge by yourself and try to understand the moral involving the characters. Few games could demonstrate the variation between styles like TLOU 2. You should play this for sure!

    It makes me laugh that people hate this game because of Joel's death and the other story feed, time to move on, and not hope for a happy ending.
    The graphics are perfect, the gameplay is perfect, enough Easter eggs, interesting character, it's all there in this game, the plot of course, for an Amateur,but it's still a MASTERPIECE.

    A Sequel to a Game, we thougt a Sequel could never work. Great, it could only be done this way. And The Last of Us Part II, shows us a Mirror about our Actions in Games, how we fight, kill and torture without questioning ourselves. Masterpiece

    Just know that, this game will not be consumed by some haters, whether you like somethings or not, it's all personal and definitely not that "Bad" as some people describes. Play it and see it yourself, this is an immersion of a world you have to experience on your own.

Joguei o primeiro jogo em 2017, e o sentimento de ter jogado esse segundo foi como se eu tivesse zerado o 1 em 2013. Teve partes que ri, fiquei com raiva, chorei, fiquei tensa. O misto de sensações que eu estava quando tinha terminado de zerar foi inexplicável. Fiquei um pouco triste com o final, pois gostaria que depois de tudo que Ellie havia passado, ela merecia 'aquele final feliz', mas entendo completamente o rumo que a levou para aquele final. Vi muita gente que disse que odiou o game pela 'lacração' que ele teve. Para essas pessoas eu apenas sinto pena, porque em pleno ano de 2020, ainda temos que conviver com pessoas homofóbicas que ainda não percebem que a homossexualidade é um coisa natural e que deve ser respeitada como um todo. Adorei a representatividade que esse jogo teve, foi o primeiro jogo que joguei que realmente me senti representada, as vezes era como eu estivesse vendo a mim em alguns momentos, tanto de coisas que a Ellie falava ou fazia. Acho que essas pessoas que falam que um beijo entre duas mulheres é ruim, enquanto existem centenas de mortes retratadas das formas mais brutais que existem, realmente deveriam procurar um médico.… Expand

    Man I had expectations but this game blew them out of the water. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting in a very good, but brutal and emotional way. LOVED IT. My GOTY pick so far. Can't take these other reviews seriously, even if the story isn't your cup of tea (go into it with an open mind) the gameplay and production values alone are off the charts and would rate this game no lower than an 8

    As much as many people say that history sucks, this is a lie, because it is really necessary to have maturity to understand this game. The last of us part 2 is a really good game at all; in history, graphics, gameplay, mechanics and also realism. It's an almost perfect game and I recommend playing.

    I think that Abby symbolizes Joel. At the end, Ellie finally forgives Joel for taking away the purpose of her live. She therefore let’s abby live.

    To my opinion the story is very well done.

    Even when you are not a fan of the story, there is so much more than that. Because of its beautiful graphics and gameplay, there game is a beautiful experience.

    So the game, to tell the long story short. It’s a masterpiece and almost perfect by all means including story.
    1. The Story
    Although the story is not like any other, structure is far from standard tropes, it takes your feelings, your love to the characters and the first game and just smash you with all emotions that possible, you feel scary, pity, thrill, tension, nostalgic, happy, good sadness about the old times and awful sadness about how the life are going now and what the circumstances can do with your beloved people. All of this mixed through the game in the most unexpected way you can think of, and in many ways you even can’t thing of. I’m not spoiling anything so I will not tell you about what will happen, experience it yourself.
    Just to tease: it’s about the different truths, being blind when being led by strong emotion, meaninglessness of violence and how it’s never late to break the circle, even when you have lost yourself. This story can make you depress at some part, be ready for that, but this is done with the reason in mind. One of the best stories in years.
    2. The graphics
    Here I shall put it as simple as it is. The most technologically advanced game of this gen, just check the DF video (but please for the God, don’t read the comments)
    3. The Gameplay
    Take all you love in the first game gameplay, enhance it in every single aspect and you will get the TLOU 2 game formula. It’s THIS good. Action is faster, impact from weapons and the enemy reactions are best in the whole industry ever. You actually can choose playstyle, in case you don’t like stealth – than don’t go for it, the ND have given you the advanced settings, so you can tune it as it fits your mind, want the most adrenaline tps game ever? Fine, make the enemies aggressive and let the resources be many all around. Like to survive and hide? Not a problem too, there is amazing survival mode for you. In the gameplay aspect there is no other game on the market right now in June 24, 2020.
    Verdict
    One of the best game in this generation, it’s swan song, just like the fist one was in it’s time.
    TLOU 2 can and will make you complete crazy, in every way.

I so want to notice that this game hasThat game is just awesome, I don't know why people hate it. I can't stop thinking about how this game is a big punch in the face of tlou fans, developers destroyed everything that was good, they made the second half so boring that Desert Bus now seems like a fun dynamic game. The plot is absolute meaningless and throughout the whole game we can only see the sadistic tendencies of the developers, I don’t understand how such game can be released.     I completed the game and am playing it again. I liked the first game but I didn't fall in love with it. In fact, I prefer this game to the first and is one of the best games I have ever played. I agree with the critics giving this game a 95/100. I genuinely give this game a 10/10.

Тема ненависти (жажды мести) и последующего "прощения" раскрыта просто потрясающе. Игра вызывает сильное эмоциональное опустошение и чувство несправедливости, из-за этого многие игроки (даже те кто не играл, лол) считают что игра плохо справляется со своей работой, только вот, главная цель игры как раз и заключается в этих вещах. Особенно разочаровало меня то, что многие люди не поняли концовку, называют ее ужасной, хотя те кто хоть немного думал над историей, поймут ее, и восхитятся какую работу проделали сценаристы. Для полного анализа потребуется как минимум отличный эссеист, а на этом сайте слишком много ограничений для действительно объективного обзора, уверен что скоро мы увидим что-то подобное, а я пока пойду рефлексировать после концовки.… Expand

    This is not just another video game, this is a story that had to be told.

    The whole game was a kick to the face, it hurt and quite a lot, and not because the video game, or the narrative were bad (because they are not), on the contrary, Neil is one of the best writers of his generation, and I understand his discontent for the bad reaction of many of his followers.

    In the last of us both parts work as one and it does it in a sublime way, there are very few video games or I would even dare to say movies that achieve what Neil and his team did, the attachment that existed on the part of the main actors ( Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson) to their characters made this story even more personal since there were several important changes that happened thanks to the contributions of the actors.

    I love the fact that Ashley Johnson has an indescribable love for her character and for the game:

    How you handle loss during the course of the game is probably the main factor in your discontent, as it clouds everything around you to some degree, but as many fans should already know, "the last of us" is a game. with a REALISTIC focus, in the history of video games and most of titles make you see yourself as "the protagonist", "the untouchable", unfortunately this is not the reality, everything you see, can go in one second and in an infinity of ways.

    Death is something that comes unexpectedly, something you can not adorn even if you do your best, you should not worry about how to die, but how to live while you still have time.

    It took me a while to get through the bitter drink, but that's the way it is.

    In relation to the "antagonist" (Abbey) I will never be able to empathize with someone of her caliber (after what she did), at a certain point you manage to understand the reason for her incessant desire to kill Joel, who ultimately becomes the Ellie's same desire / addiction for killing her, a vicious circle of revenge that as we saw can be very dangerous.

    Playing with the antagonistic character is a very risky move that Neil took, and indeed, I hated every second, but I couldn't deny the fact that it was an essential part of the story and that one of my favorite scenes takes place while you play with she (the war between the seraphites and the wolves), this scene together with the soundtrack is an injection of adrenaline, in the midst of the chaos that breaks out between two "cults" that after all for lack of dialogue and their different methods to achieve the same objective, they cause a carnage, taking everything in their path (even children).

    I could go on to say an endless number of wonders of this installment, from the symbolism, the small details and references, the soundtrack, the soundtrack, the photography outside and inside the cinematics, the criticism of the way to carry out certain religions and As they conflict, the incredible and subtle way they introduced the LGBT community from the first game, the DLC, and how it continued and developed, even the simplest details in the dialogue make the difference between a good and a bad script.

    She couldn't even have asked for a more poetic ending, after Ellie's intense fear of ending up alone, which was raised from the very first installment, along with her childhood story, which she discusses with Joel and is featured in the comic and on "left behind "(where all her loved ones die or abandon her), and after all the decisions she made, good or bad, her greatest fear ended up becoming reality, leaving her with no other option but to accept it.

    A devastating ending and certainly not for anyone.

    But the most heartbreaking part is the one on the porch, where Joel says to Ellie:

    - "If somehow God gave me another chance, I would do it all over again" (referring to saving her)

    To which Ellie replies:

    -Yes ... I just ... I don't think I can forgive you ...

    (because for her, dying to give a cure to humanity would have given her life meaning)

    Ellie: But I would like to try.

    Joel: I would like that.

    Ellie: okay.

    Thus ending the last words that were said, with another "okay" (same as in the first game, but with a different meaning)

    I couldn't contain the tears in that scene ...

    The relationship between Joel and Ellie and the love of "father and daughter" never disappears, it is absent after his death, but it stays there ... in her memories. When a story is told from the heart it becomes art, and it can be seen from the passion transmitted by those who managed to develop this love masterpiece. ... because that's what The Last of Us is a love letter for those who leave and stay in our memory.    … Expand

    I catch myself thinking about it a lot. But the most astonishing thing about this game is: It teaches you about human behaviour. The game achieves this effect not only through its story but also through the impact it had on gamers. Never was a well-made game praised by the critics and doomed by the the users at the same time. Surprisingly the most reviews were given 48 hours after release, which is funny because the game is 25 - 30 hours long.

The game was extremely well written having players go on a journey as both Ellie and Abby. Ellie's story truly pulls on your heart. Players will find themselves lost in a world of horror and anger. I truly hated Abby when I started playing as her since she killed Joel, one of my favorite characters. By the end of playing as her, you come to love her and want her to succeed. The ending teaches players that revenge is not always the correct answer. Revenge cost Ellie everything she ever loved, almost getting her killed.
    The game mechanics truly are amazing. Fighting is incredibly smooth and gives players a ton of options on how to play. You can run and gun or you can be stealthy in your encounters with enemies. There are intense and graphic death scenes that help players get immersed in life during the zombie apocalypse. All enemies have names so killing them will cause their friends to cry about the deaths of their friends. The game is also extremely scary filled with more then just typical jump scares.     Pros: ALL, but . . .
    Cons: The first 4 hours playing Abby like a character, I was HATING her, but after all long way, that I went through, I LOVED her as character.
    I can understand, that some people doesn’t like the ending, but I LOVED It, Ellie just made a decision, which defined her as a person, and she’s alone, but she did right thing, she DID NOT kill Abby, but wanted all long way in the Game, she didn’t kill her because she is ABOVE It. Ellie understood, that she doesn’t hate Abby, now she hates only HERSELF, because she was stupid **** who rejected the dearest person in the world. And revenge for Joel it’s just a try to forgive yourself.
    In the ending, Ellie repents before herself about everything she had done.
    I LOVE THIS FRANCHISE, LOVE THIS GAME, I LOVE NEIL DRUCKMANN AND I LOVE NAUGHTY DOG!❤️

    After going through countless reviews and reaction videos, I found 3 main things gamers hated the most

    1) Joel’s death
    2) Playing as abby
    3) Abby lives

    Let’s see the story from a mature perspective rather than as fanboys.

    Abby is full of hate, she had only one goal to take revenge from her father's killer.

    Ellie goes down the same path, she had only goal taking revenge from Joel's (father figure) killer.

    The story shows you both sides of the coin, and questions you who's revenge matters? Is eye for an eye, a solution? Who is right & who is wrong?

    If Ellie kills Abby, would the cycle of vengeance stop? Wouldn't Lev come behind Ellie later for killing Abby who is now like sister to him? The most important would Joel would have wanted his "Kiddo" to devote her life for vengeance?

    You start seeing Joel in Abby when you play her story, you see how she kills her own people to save Lev, something that Joel does for Ellie.

    What vengeance brings to Ellie? She ends up alone at the end.

    She goes to Santa Barbara thinking that killing Abby would bring her peace, and just when Abby was about to die at the hands of Ellie, she remembers Joel looking at her, she understands he would never have wanted this from her.

    Abby lost her father, went on a path of vengeance, all her friends died too.

    Ellie lost Joel, went on a path of vengeance, lost friends, her love, her fingers too, she now can't play that guitar which Joel always wanted her to play.

    If you see the story from a fanboy's perspective you will definitely not care about the deep emotions and notions the game is challenging.

    The ending flashback scene will definitely tear you apart. Ellie - I'll see you around.

    It's a very rare game, we don't get games like these very often, cherish it. I hope more people give positive ratings/reviews. It hurts to see such low score for a masterpiece like this.

I think a lot of people have missed the point entirely when it came to Joel dying. The whole point was to be angry about it to put you in Ellie’s shoes and feel what she’s going through. This couldn’t have had as much of an impact if it was anyone else who died so it was a huge sacrifice for the needed response. That being said, I realise why that would put a lot of fans off and all I can say is if you give this game a chance, you’ll be greatly rewarded. With that out the way, I think the story was very well paced and had lots of interesting twists and turns. I was definitely resistant to play as Abby initially. I was convinced there was nothing Naughty Dog could do to make me like her, but by the end, she really grew on me. This is partially down to the great story telling, but also because the acting and level of detail in the facial animations really conveys the emotions of the characters. I think it goes without saying that the graphics are without a doubt, the best this console generation has ever seen. Naughty Dog never fail when it comes to the sheer level of detail fidelity and the result is outstanding. There were so many occasions I just had to stop and look around to really take in this amazingly well crafted world and I loved it. The gameplay, admittedly, is a little clunky and outdated. There’s one scene where I was trying to ride a horse and sprint with it holding L1 and also aim a gun with L2 and that just isn’t a comfortable way to play for me. That being said, the controls didn’t bother me that much because the battles felt really incredible to play. So much raw explosive power accompanied with incredible animations, satisfying sound effects and really tense music made such an exciting game. For me, this is the best game I’ve ever played and I’d have massively missed out if I payed attention to the amount of hate this game has got. If you’re on the fence about playing it, just get yourself a second hand copy when it’s cheap and see for yourself, you won’t be sorry you did.… Expand

    A great game from start to finish. The story goes along with the first game. Takes the harsh world and builds upon it amazingly. The story takes an unexpected turn in the beginning, this shocked me but kept me in the harsh world naughty dog have created making the story better because of it. The last of us is a special game to me and part 2 builds of that creating something well worth checking out

    This game has made me feel so much. The way it's able to control your emotions throughout the story is amazing. Rage, sadness, determination, you're in for a hell of a ride. I can't say that many other games pulled me into their world as much as this one has.

    Great game. Not many games have such a strong emotional gameplay. Every character seems like unique person, not just a nameless thug. And the visuals are absolutely stunning, from character models to cloth and rope physics to lights. Simply put, it is a masterpiece.

Moreover, The Last of Us Part II is by far Naughty Dog’s largest game, in length and scope, spanning over 30 hours for my first play through. The game feels very well paced, albeit for the slightly prolonged ending, however, this does not detract from the true experience of the game. Additionally the gameplay system is very well done, with great feeling weapons, survival-horror like set pieces, that match the likes of the resident evil series, and calm, drawn out sequences that usher in a calm yet terrified feeling for the games many twists and turns are very tough to detect. Naughty Dog, has also gone absolutely above and beyond in their graphical fidelity of the game as well as animations. This game is by far the best looking game of the generation, with absolutely crisp visuals on both the standard PS4 and PS4 Pro, from the way water slowly darkens and muddles Ellies bags and clothes, to how naturally Ellie would react to her environment by sliding when she goes prone on a smooth surface, or put her hand against a shelf as she walks past it. Least but not least in the gameplay, is the gruesome melee combat, and although the dodge button adds quite a bit of variety to the melee systems, the melee combat system is very reminiscent of the first game, although in a good way. Each strike upon you or your enemies feels impactful, and heavy, from Ellies slashes of her switchblade, to the thundering thump of a pickaxe, melee combat never gets old with immense graphical detail from how blood splatters depending on where Ellie hits, to how dynamic your dodging feels. Overall this game stands up tall near the first game, for it offers a completely different story, that is much more haunting and revenge focused than the first one, however was a necessary evolution in Ellie and Joels relationship. I would also like to add that from viewing the leaks after completing the game, it seems possible as to why people were mad at the game, however the way Naughty Dog is able to piece the moments together turn out to be far greater than how the leaks portrayed the game. I would definitively recommend this game whether or not you have been previously spoiled.… Expand

    One of the most amazing games I've ever played everything from the diversity in gameplay to the graphics is perfect. Its a masterpiece.

    For me this game is an absolute masterpiece, regardless what others say about it (cuz the most of them didn‘t even finished the game), after RDR2 i thought no game can ever could break me like this again but naughty dog did it. No game got me this emotional like TLOU2! Also everyone which say the story is bad, didn‘t even understood the whole point about the story.

    Last of Us 2 does NOT deserve a low rating at all. These new gen gamers are a sad group; the storytelling was great, the combat and movement literally surpass any other game and the characters development was quite enjoyable. HonestLy it's a joke and you're clearly on the review bomb hype train if you think Last of Us 2 is a 4.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
