Joel was cool and all, but his actions had to have repercussions. The world of tlou is MEANT to be realistic. It's meant to be brutal, and that was established in the first game. It's not GTA where you can go around commiting genocide and theres no consequence

    People didnt cry and boycott the studio when they're favorite character died in the walking dead or when ned stark died in game of thrones. That's just the world they're trying to portray, and the artful story they mean to tell

    Enjoy tlou 2 for what it is, and what the developer intended. It's not a fan-service-y merry-go-round .Tlou 2 is different, and it's great.    … Expand

    I finished it now. Man, what an experience. Truly. A roller coaster of emotions. I'm so glad i didn't spoil myself with the leaks. If i did knew them i probably would have been mad too. But without knowing them i experienced something like never before and it was amazing. It makes me a little bit sad that so many are thinking differently. But i can understand them a little bit.     En resumen puedo decir que The Last Of Us supero todas mis expectativas en cuanto a narrativa, usar dos personajes diferentes y cuentan una historia de redención y venganza funcionó para mi. Un ambiente hermoso dentro del mundo apocalíptico.

    A video game is not just art, a video game is the best form of art that exists and this game can represent that very well. I've never had such an incredible experience in a game like this one. It is simply the best game ever made in the history of video games.

The best game ive ever played. The way they prepared Joel death was really great, i just dont liked the way he died; And about the end... That end is SO **** AMAZING, they make you think she will kill Abby, and, Ellie realizes that she alredy lost everything Joel gave to her, what made she let Abby alive, noticing that her revenge wouldnt make him come back.     O jogo é simplesmente sensacional, uma das melhores histórias que eu já vi ser contada em qualquer tipo de mídia.
    gráficos excelentes, sem dúvida um dos melhores já feitos, atenção que eles colocaram em cada mísero detalhe chega a assustar.
    Jogabilidade extremamente dinâmica é fluída, com variação de gameplay e movimentação simplesmente incrível

    I actually finished the game, unlike the majority of these reviews. It was the best game I have ever played. I think the story was perfect and masterfully written. Don't listen to the hate, play it yourself and have an open mind.

    Далее выделю плюсы и минусы игры как обычно, поехали :
    Плюсы:
    +Графика, Физика - лучшая картинка в играх, изумительная физика стрельбы, воды, подручных предметов, движения тела, мимики, потрясающие ээфектч, визуал в общем идеален
    +Геймплей-все, за что вы полюбили первую часть и сверху охапка нововведений, а то, что было отполированно до блеска, отдельно хочется выделить боевую систему, она действительно порывная, опять же благодаря анимациям и поведению искусственного интеллекта
    +Дизайн(персонажей, локаций и тд.) - здесь действительно работали фанаты своего дело, вылизанная от и до игра, с уникальными локациями которые разнообразные на протяжении всей игры, все на высшем уровне как мы любим
    +Звук, саунд - ну тут даже и слов не нужно произносить, это вышка друзья, единственный совет это играть в наушниках, непередаваемыц оргазм для ушей)
    +Сюжет, сценарий и постановочные моменты - оставил самую обсуждаемую тему на последок, эдакая вишенка на тортике), не буду спойлерить, это я считаю преступление по отношению в игре, создателям и игрокам которые не успели ею насладится, единственное, что хочется сказать, так то, что в игре множество поворотов, отличных сцен и логических действий, все объясняется, но всему свое время
    ±Жестокость-мясо, кровь и ультранасилие, все подаётся на блюдечке с голубой каемочкой)

    Минусы:
    - пару лгбт моментов, не сказать бы, что они портят игру, ибо в 30 часах эти 5-10 минут от силы просто растворяются, но если вы от одного намёка начинаете воспламеняться, то ставьте рядом с собой ведёрко водички
    -технически за всю игру не встретил ни одного бага, но был момент когда союзник не атаковал врага а тупо возле него кружился с мачетой, дело пустяковое, но место этому есть)
    -хотелось бы мультплеер как в первой части, он был чертовски хорош, но осознавая размер игры, можно и понять почему мультплеер не сделали, иначе игру мы бы с вами увидели в году 2022 небось)
    - И самый огромный минус, это то, что она закончилась

    Как итог - эта игра редчайшее явление, такие игры выходят далеко не каждый год, и пропускать её непозволительно.

    Если вы фанат первой части понравится ли вам вторая? Да! Безусловно!
    Стоит ли ознакомится с первой частью тем, кто хочет сыграть во вторую, но первую пропустил? Да! Безусловно!

    O Jogo traz uma história sensacional que mexe muito com a gente! A experiência que eu tive com esse jogo foi única. Eu me sentia na pele dos personagens e sentia o que eles sentiam. Um dos melhores jogos dessa geração sem dúvida

I loved the shift of perspective - viewing the story from someone else - every character is just doing that seems right to them, to protect their own. Good and evil is subjective. It took a little while to adjust to the idea of playing as Abby, but I understand why Naughty Dog made these decisions. Beautiful storytelling, I loved the heartwarming first scene at The Farm - heartbreaking ending when Ellie returns to The Farm.… Expand

    I see that (as with all the the fake reviews on Metacritic) the majority of negative comments surrounding this game seem to all boil down to basic homophobia and/or misogyny. You neanderthals really give yourselves away with all the "I refuse to have this SJW feminazi LGBTQ agenda shoved down my throat, Trump 2020!" posts.     And anyone sending abuse, including the threats and the sexist and antisemitic type that the creators have recieved over the past few months is a scumbag pure and simple and if you think that disliking a game justifies this then those people deserve to be boarded up in their basements where they belong. Anyway, I'm sure they'll all be happy when the next FIFA or CoD comes out.

    Having just finished it (yes, I actually played it and didn't base my opinion on what I saw on YouTube) all I can say is congratulations to Naughty Dog for gifting us the defining masterpiece of the current generation. May it win all the accolades it deserves. F***ing brilliant. 10/10    … Expand

I think people just missed the point of why Joel was killed and Ellie didn't killed Abby, Ellie understood that revenge wil be a cycle that won't end until the 2 parts of the problem stop, like abby did when didn't kill Dina and Ellie at the theatre, I just think this game is one of the best of the generation and probably of the year.… Expand

    Jogo incrível, conseguiu emocionar assim como o primeiro jogo, a história mostra muito mais da realidade vivida nesse mundo apocalíptico sem regras. Uns dos melhores gráficos que já vi em consoles, jogabilidade excelente pois além das novas mecânicas foram feitas melhorias em mecânicas já conhecidas. A história sempre fica em suspense de qual o próximo passo, sempre uma nova revelaçãoJogo incrível, conseguiu emocionar assim como o primeiro jogo, a história mostra muito mais da realidade vivida nesse mundo apocalíptico sem regras. Claro não vai agradar a todo mundo, pois a maior parte dos players acham q tudo tem que acabar como conto de fadas, mas não se engane, TLOU2 não é para fracos ou quem vive em bolhas sociais, ele simplesmente mostra as facetas do ser humano e trás a tona que cada ação tem sua consequência seja ela boa ou ruim.     Minha gameplay durou por volta de 25 horas, acredito que em mais 2 horas e uma nova gameplay para platina.
    O game aborda em seu enredo temas que ainda incomoda muitas pessoas por falta de instrução familiar, ou apenas pre-conceito mesmo.
    Cada minuto da minha experiência o enredo me envolvia, nenhum minuto o game se tornou cansativo.
    É emocionante e também te deixa dividido no que achar ou que lado tomar.
    este é um game que te da um misto de emoções, alegria, medo, ódio, empatia e muitos outros.
    seu final não é algo que te deixa a vontade, nao é um final feliz como o primeiro, mas te proporciona um prazer em saber que existem dois lados e nenhum ganha, onde a vingança toma tudo. percebi um grande hate sobre a abby e sua maça corporal, ao meu ver isso foi totalmente premeditado, para o final ser impactante.
    um jogo perfeito, que esse seja um divisor de aguas, que seja um mundo apos The last of us part 2
    essa serie conseguiu me deixar pensativo e emocionado por dias. simplesmente perfeito
    tenho apenas a agradecer a naughty dog. por mais essa obra, muito bem trabalhada e esculpida.

    Será muito difícil encontrar outro game a altura.

El juego es demasiado bueno, el gameplay es pulido, la historia si bien no es cuento de rosas el cual muchas personas esperaban, está bien narrada. El apartado técnico es notable, la iluminación, la música, los gráficos, entre otros, por otro lado la queja por el lesbianismo de ellie y la supuesta "agenda progre" carece de fundamentos, la relación de esta es muy natural, en ningún momento se siente forzosa, los nuevos personajes se incluyen perfectamente...     Thought provoking story, amazing and believable characters, incredible acting, beautiful graphics, out of this world audio design.

    I can easily say it's 10/10. It is now my favourite game. Made me cry a lot. I'll start replaying it once i'm feeling okay again.    … Expand

    Do not read about this game. Play it. Didn't think it would be possible, but story, game-play, mechanics, and music have all truly outdone the first game. What a brilliantly heartbreaking journey this game is.

You can’t complain about the revenge story being jammed down your throat if you’re also angry with the ending. Because if you do it means you didn’t understand the revenge story being told. The importance of the female centric story is immense. Female representation is one of the most important things to me when it comes to emerging narratives, and the representation this game provides is monumental. The first two hours of this game left me bawling, and there was never a point where i felt comfortable putting down the controller. I constantly felt the need to see what happens next. The visuals are gorgeous, the sound design is incredible. But boy howdy, that story makes it.… Expand

    I'm not going to lie, but at the point where you fight Ellie as Abby, I was in a rage against ND, I couldn't understand how you crush a character like that... Why you make me play with the killer of Joel for so frecking long... I was absolutely furious how Ellie was "done with that" on the house living with Dina and the baby... That's, not Ellie I thought, Ellie won't leave Abby live... we need to **** kill her...

    I only forced to keep playing the game with the only intention to kill Abby... then it hit me like a goddam train, and it hurt and it hurt a lot...

    Allow me to explain myself...

    If Ellie killed Abby, the cycle must continue, someone has to kill Ellie. But Ellie broke it, revenge won't help her, he needed closure, not revenge. And that's what she got, and no, I don't buy the "she killed everybody just to pardon Abby? YES, **** yes, and that's why Neil and the ND is a **** genius, because at the last scene when Ellie realized she couldn't play the guitar, it let her understand that letting Abby go, letting the guitar there, helped her letting Joel go...

    It's not what everybody expected, I get that, we all wanted all the game to be like the museum memory... Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you guys. It´s not...

    I cried for a frecking hour when Ellie started to play and left...

    This game has a brilliant story and I think it hit me sooo frecking hard because I was soo in the Ellie ship... but this world, this game isn't about "the good ones" and the "bad guys" this is about the actions of Joel's life and how Ellie in his absolute depression couldn't see anything but revenge, but that's not her, the true Ellie is the museum one, the "I wanna see what all the fuss is about" Ellie, the one who makes dumb joked with her first real friend.

    We need to understand what Ellie´s been through guys. Why you think we don’t see any "car with Joel scenes... any pun jokes book with Dina... because her relationship with Joel is fractured, and she lost the opportunity to repair it... She lost her first true love... and know when she finally started to trust someone, she lied at her face and have to "carry" a baby that forever remained her that his dad is dead because of her... She can’t live a life like that... That’s truly not her...

    That’s why she needed to go with Abby, and yes, it was melodramatic to "save her at the last second" but that’s what she needed, and the fingers... well... yeah, I thought, at first, that it was only on the gore side, to show that your actions have consequences, even if you don’t "end them". BUT, it was crucial, I’ll explain:

    In the last scene, when Ellie tries to play the guitar and lives, I thought that it remembered too much to Joel and she couldn’t do it, not that fresh... but not, she fiscally couldn’t play. (Maybe if there is a 3rd one shell just plays with the other hand... I don now lol.) But what I got from that, is that she needed that, she needed to leave Joel behind (figuratively with the guitar) and move on... And that’s what she does... she moved on.

    That’s why, also, Tommy broke up with Maria, because Tommy didn’t move on... He probably kept complaining and **** why he didn’t kill her... why he didn’t do that... or do the other... (You know? Like all of us when we **** up something, of think of great response on an argument 5 hours after it ended...) He didn’t have closure, or he didn’t accept what happened, and that deeply depressed him to the point he lost what he loves more... his wife.

    That’s what Ellie "got right" yes, she’s greatly affected, of **** course... for her, his whole life was circling around giving her life for the cure... and Joel took that from her.

    But know, with Joel, with Abby with Jesse, and Tommy behind, she can truly move on and be that curious badass girl, who claimed dinosaurs and make silly pun jokes with her best friend... Because, there’s nothing in her past, hunting her...

    That’s why I think it hit me so hard… because upon all the “second” half of the game, I was in rage, I didn’t want to play Abby… I didn’t care about their life’s, friends…, how many of them where… I only wanted to kill Abby… Joel can’t go unavenged. Until I wasn’t, until I saw Ellie walking away from Joel’s guitar, that I realized… Abby is Joel…
    And it was so frecking obvious, Ellie never put up stairs, Ellie never sees a flamethrower, Joel never wanted Ellie to become what she was becoming. That’s why he choked on the last memory when Ellie tells him that she may never forgive him… but she may try…    … Expand

    The best game to be made this generation... maybe of all time!! The storytelling was so powerful and moving, don't listen to what others say. Maybe you won't like it, but you should definitely try to experience this game yourself!!

    В отличии от 99,99% голосующих с 0 баллов - я купил и с удовольствием играю в эту игру. Даже первая часть столько эмоций не давала, как хэйт ко второй части и реальное положение дел в самой игре.

    I had been waiting for this game since they first announced it about 4 years ago and I loved the first so much I've probably played it around 15 times, a few of which were on grounded difficulty. I bought collectibles, books, a comic and Joel's watch. I couldn't get enough. I adore these characters and I didn't know what to expect with this game other than that it would be an incredible story, I adore Naughty Dog's games and their creativity and guts. I started playing this game on day one and finished two days later. It was an incredibly emotional journey for me, someone who adores these characters and had to do things in this game that I didn't want to do. At first, I didn't know how to feel about everything, but after sitting with my thoughts especially after I had finished, I am still blown away by the story and more and more I appreciate it. I want to explain how this is a fantastic game without analyzing the plot to show how most of the hate towards it is unfair, because I think the story while bold and unexpected was brilliant and well-executed. So instead I want to focus on how the game made me feel. Some parts absolutely melted my heart. Some broke my heart. And others made me question if I needed a break, either I really didn't want to do what I had to in order to continue or I needed a break from the jump scares because this game definitely got a lot more intense and terrifying than the first. I think not everyone is going to love this game, for sure, no game this intense is for everyone, but I think it's incredibly unfair to say that anything ruined it. This game forces you to think very deeply about yourself, the way you see people who have hurt you and even these characters we love and are hesitant to see in a poor light. No one is perfect and this game shows that in clever and important ways. I'm going to play it again probably tonight now that I've taken a couple days to sit with my initial shock and process it, because it is very heavy content but wow will it stay with me forever. I am so proud of everyone at Naughty Dog who made this the emotional and beautifully intense game that it is, especially the incredible voice/mo-cap actors and Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross who didn't back down from the hate and made the story they wanted to make, that deserved to be made. I wouldn't judge anyone who just didn't care for the story overall or didn't love new mechanics or the pacing perhaps but I really think that anyone who wants to leave a bad review should make sure they play the game fully, process it and leave the characters' backgrounds out of it because while I love these new characters and think that Ellie living as her authentic self are fantastic, this is a story about so many different people who never make it into games like this and them existing is not some sort of agenda, a vendetta to bomb a game simply because they exist in it is. Anyways, I implore everyone to give this game a shot and see what you think. I value it so deeply and while so much of it is hard and saddening content because, well, their world is hard and saddening, every day I think of the parts that melted my heart over and over again and that keeps a smile on my face.     I will say the length felt very dragged at times, this felt due to incredible amounts of gameplay without sufficient breathers. This could have allowed more chance for getting to know characters a bit deeper or have a clearer sense on how Ellie was feeling. This felt minor to me by the end of the game, and all this said the gameplay is incredible. I also feel no matter how you feel on the game, we could all agree the music and sound design are remarkable.
    This game is going to keep people divided for a long time, I don't think I could ever change the minds of those who hated it. I do feel though if you can, don't go in with expectations or any ideals in mind - they will most certainly not be met.    … Expand

    Never before have i experienced something like this. ND really knows what they're doing and how to trigger the emotions that they want to trigger. Amazing how a game teaches you a few lessons along the way and forces you to look in the mirror having to admit to yourself that you might have been wrong before. An experience i'll never forget.

Not only does it live up to its predecessor, but it succeededs far beyond expectations. If you're on the fence about playing this game because of mixed reviews, just play it yourself. It's a coming of age and revenge story. You play multiple characters on multiple timelines leading up to the reason Ellie is out for vengeance. You deal with the repercussions of Joel's actions, who I dont think most people realize set all this in motion and could be seen as the bad guy. If you enjoyed the first one, you'll love this. Don't listen to just one youtube review and jump on the hate bandwagon. Dont read the leaks, assume things and jump on the hate bandwagon. I strongly agree with the critic reviews. This game is fantastic. Violent, brutal, and traumatizing. It speaks strongly about how shortsightedness and obsession with revenge can only cause more trauma, loss, and pain. That evil actions cannot beget goodness. I think people really expected an "Adventures of Ellie and Joel 2.0", but that sort of buddy comedy just doesn't fit in a world as bleak and dangerous as that of The Last of Us. The voice acting and motion capture is great. The graphics are gorgeous. The pacing is good (with only minor complaints of some tedious tasks in Ellie's three days in Seattle). The story is dark and directly follows as consequences of the first game. I expected to fully hate Abby, but I actually enjoyed her three days in Seattle more than Ellie's. The game does a great job of showing the complexities of life and how no one is all good or all bad. This is a terrible world in which people are just trying to survive. I loved Joel's character in TLOU pt. 1, but there is no question that he has done terrible things to survive and his choice to save Ellie doomed the rest of humanity. I expected that if there ever was a TLOU pt. 2, Joel or Ellie would have to die because it's just too unrealistic to expect any character to survive too long in a world as brutal as this one. By the end of my playthrough, I still missed Joel, but also really appreciated the strong message the game was sending. The final fight between Abby and Ellie is just terribly emotional and brutal to watch, but really sends home the point of the game: revenge wasn't going to fix what has been lost. The best you can do is to accept your lot and make the best of it. To move forward with strength, love, and determination rather than obsessing over pain, regret, and rage. Fantastic game.… Expand

    The writing, the camera work, the characters, the scenarios, the art, EVERYTHING is an absolute 10/10. It took 7 years but it delivered. You can see why people would be kinda mad at it but, I'm my honest opinion, in order to hate this game, (more exactly, the story) you either thought this would be a sea of roses and didn't have your mind truly open to new experiences or simply refused yourself to embrace the great writing, going with the flow of the hate.
    This is everything you can wait from a video-game and from a Naughty Dog video-game. Can't wait for the online.
    A true masterpiece. June 19ft 2020 will forever be remembered as the best day of my life.

The story when boiled down to bullet points is simple and seemingly poor, but it's not about that, it's about the moment to moment character experiences and challenges your ability to empathise it simply cannot be told in a few short plot points, much like the original game - when boiled down is also seemingly paper thin but astoundingly deep beneath the surface.

    This is a game about parallels, pain and the futility in pursuing hatred. Those that responded to this with vitriol are ironically the people best served to learn from the story being told.

    The gameplay is expansive and fun, fights are brutal, violent and astoundingly dynamic and cinematic. The visuals are the best I've seen this console generation, to the point where I can't wait to see this on the PS5 with some more gumption - the fact that is even runs on the PS4 as well as it does is amazing.

    How anyone can think this is anything short of one of the greatest games of this generation is bewildering. If you love the original game, go in with an open mind and use that trust built up through the previous story telling. There's no 'agenda' here Neil Druckmann and co. are just here to make you suffer in the greatest way possible.    … Expand

Loved the first game immensely and I haven't played a game in a long time that was so ambitious with it's narrative, so what if it made me uncomfortable in parts, that's good and it's doing what was intended. I liked that it wasn't trying to be the first game and was attempting to be its own thing. Joel's death wasn't dignified but why does it have to be? Death rarely is and it felt more believable this way. Game of Thrones tore my heart out several times with character deaths and I still loved it.

    I agree that the story was a little clunky in parts and yes there were a few plot holes and they could have pushed Abby's character further in getting me to invest more emotionally in her but I was still drawn to her side more as Ellie's. Ellie just seemed dumb to continue but she's stunted emotionally and it makes sense for her flawed character to keep making the same mistakes/decisions. Also good to see female leads that aren't over sexualised or playing the 'damsel in distress'.

    This game was daring and progressive in a world that asks for that but rarely appreciates it when it gets it.    … Expand

When the dust settles, 10 years from now, the consensus will be that this game is a masterpiece, which it is. Groundbreaking often doesn't look like groundbreaking when it happens, but this is it.

    Its story is backed-up by visceral gameplay, that has you surviving human threats, ranging from the survivor mercenaries inhabiting this post-apocalyptic world, to the ugliest and most dangerous of infected that roam the ruins of a once great civilization. Encounters are brutal and unforgiving. The gameplay is perhaps also the only point of contention in this game, as stealth is often times too easily broken and once that happens, you are left vulnerable and many of the resources you spent hours hoarding suddenly go to waste. It is also worth mentioning that this is a problem because the game was marketed as letting you "pick-your-own-path" in combat. Entire sections can be avoided by sneaking past human enemies and dogs, but this was rarely possible due to the inaccessibility of stealth, having led to unnecessary murders of dogs, which felt deeply uncomfortable.

    The graphics only heighten the sense of discomfort when violence is shown on-screen, as every nook and cranny is beautifully realized and you can see every wrinkle, scar, and blood smear on enemies' bodies as you take them down. This isn't to say that there aren't beautiful moments, because there are plenty and they are truly jaw-dropping.

    Overall, The Last of Us Part II is a beautifully realized piece of art that stay true to the characters it portrays from the original game, and it opens up new perspectives on their humanity, or lack-there-of at times. It fully realized the developers' intent to portray a story that is the polar opposite of its original, and guide the player through a cycle of hate that can only be broken the the bigger person. I truly can't wait to see where this franchise is taken to next.    … Expand

This game really reinvigorated a love of video games in me that I haven't felt since I was a child playing Legend of Zelda. I learned to become confident in a third person shooter game, and I was engrossed by the story. I fell in love with the game and had so much fun! The past few years, I've eagerly awaited Part II. What I got in a game was more than I ever expected. Part II blows everything out of the water. This is as someone who felt deeply attached to Arthur Morgan from RDR2, and who has recently played Assasins Creed Odyssey and Origins as well as Final Fantasy 7 Remake. TLOU Part 2 has raised the bar and I feel bad other developers who will try their best to surpass it.     I love this game, I don't care what anyone else says I loved it, yes what happened could've happened differently or not happened at all, but I thought it was one of the greatest PlayStation exclusives....... I loved the story, the gameplay was great and graphics were amazing....

So i see.The majority of the reviews are from june 19.The game released on june 19.Basically everyone completed 20 hours+ of gameplay,on day one.Don't even read those **** reviews made just to put crap on the game.Let's see,basically you are rating the game 0-1 because joel dies and you can't accept it,you don't like abby and the game has lgbt stuff in it.Some even say "graphics are good,mechanics too,but 1 for me because i don't like the story.How can someone be so immature?I'm rating it 10 firstly because it's an awesome game in all its parts,second because i want to get the score higher.This game doesn't deserve all the zeroes just because you don't have common sense and rate it 0 or 1 even if you know the graphics are spectacular and mechanics too,it deserves a six only for that,find another game with the same things today.Think before reviewing next time and play the game first ;)..… Expand

    Truly breathtaking game that delves into the nuances of grief, revenge, love, and futility. Absolutely one of the best games I’ve ever played. The graphics and gameplay are outstanding and the performances are incredible. I don’t think I will be able to stop thinking about this game for a long time. Utterly phenomenal.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
