    This game is a true masterpiece. Dark, challenging, beautiful, complex and unforgettable. The themes of revenge and perspective left me thinking about this game long after I finished it. I understand the story might not have been what everyone expected or wanted but for me personally I was blown away.

    Just because it doesn't have a happy ending that means its a bad game, in fact the way I felt playing this game (bitter) makes the the whole game a master piece.

    You have to experience this game to realize that it doesn't deserve all the hate that is getting. This is trully a masterpiece: the graphics, the storytelling, the gameplay mechanics, you won't feel disapointed for any of those things. Maybe it's not perfect but still my personal review score will be like 9.5

    Just... entirely worth it, I ended up buying it twice to buy the collectors edition. I let the leaks spoil the parts of the plot for me and I still enjoyed my time, the entire time. Wish I could play it all over again, unspoiled

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Many people are mad at this game because they killed off joel in a unceremonious way. I don't understand why. People forget that joel did some bery horrible things.(like killing innocent nurses begging for their lives)
    Everyone who is really mad at the game didn't learn from the game. If ellie killed abby in the end she would end up being a character with no growth or redeemable qualities. Ellie's actions had she lost the only person who still loved herconsequences and by not learning her first time she is left with nothing.

    This game is amazing. I haven't ever played anything like this. The part 2 was even better than the first Last of us game. I have been waiting for Assassin's Creed Valhalla so much but now I'm afraid that it doesn't feel anything after this game.

    The Good: Story and writing is well done Amazing voice actors Positive minority representation, if that matters to you. Smooth controls and gameplay mechanics.     It is worth multiple playthroughs, not necessarily for the story, but because you are likely to miss some bits and pieces of the game that can enhance the experience.
    The ... Bad?
    For people who have a hard time with violence, this really is not the game for you.
    Some of the gameplay can feel a bit slow.
    And, despite what I just said, I feel that the ending section of the game was rushed.

    Also, a personal plus, the game REALLY get under the skin of some very specific types of people. So that is a positive on a personal level for me.    … Expand

    I've waited for this game since I finished the first one on ps3 years ago. I've played it many times ever since, on ps4. This was a masterpiece. When I see people bashing the second part giving it awful review, I just can't understand. This is not your story, you may have been disappointed by some of its aspects but you can't bash it this way. I think everyone bad reviewing this game without justification and insulting the team who made it don't deserve to play this. Just go back playing simple story games if you are not able to understand the character's complexity and the multi facet of this realistic world. And when you try to understand the motives of the characters and don’t just hate because the story isn’t going the way you want to, you realize that this game is just great in storytelling and gameplay. But you have to accept the way the story goes. Many people can’t and this leads to their hate and bad ratings here without even playing the game.
    It’s not often or maybe almost never that a game can left you with such a feeling behind, so much is lost and can be returned, but that’s the reality in such a cruel world. Hope Dina and Ellie manage to get back together, hopefully we will take part of that in a part 3    … Expand

    This is a beautiful, brutal, unforgettable and heartbreaking game that every ps4 gamer needs to play. It forces you to take a hard look of the psychological and physical repercussions of violence... something that is usually just brushed off in games. Well done Naughty Dog.

    If someone just said this is a bad game, its fine. This game just bring a whole new level how a game story can be. ND really out a BIG risk in here. And at some point, they really succesed aproach such a weird emotional motive. But some people just cant take it and i can understand it.

    El juego a mi me encanto, tanto como la jugabilidad, lo grafico y la historia, en la historia hay cosas que mejorar pero a mi me gusto bastante la historia, en el gameplay es un poco tedioso en las partes de buscar loot, por lo menos en el modo superviviente es asi, pero despues en todo lo demas es increible el gameplay, lo recomiendo bastante, lo disfrute como si fuera el tlou 1 :)

    Me parece un muy buen juego,tanto historia como jugabilidad,las criticas que ha tenido no son merecidas,y mas teniendo cuenta que la mayoria ni lo ha jugado,la historia esta muy bien hecha,todo el hate ha sido causado por tocar a ciertos personajes,pero eso ya es cuestion de gustos,no es razon para tirar hate porque si,mi critica final es un 9.

    This game suffers from some serious pacing issues being over 20 hours long and having serval narrative stops that drain all the momentum HOWEVER the game is so strong combat and character building wise that Im still inclined to rate it highly. It is nt as got as the first (though what sequel is?) but it still really enjoyed it and found myself attached to most of the characters. I'd love to see a dlc of abby and lev seeking out the fireflies in the future.    … Expand

    This game is amazing! Everything I loved about the first one is done even better in Part II! The story is rich, and causes even more emotional distress! I feel so sorry for those that don't get that. Says a lot about them as people. I feel like one really needs to play through to the end to appreciate the entire game.

    i really enjoyed this game! played it with my friend and it took us about 19 hours to complete, but we missed a lot of exploring. it has its faults but is still an enjoyable game! the gameplay is amazing and i would definitely recommend it to anyone

A must have in ps4, for eveyone able to acceptate the story given by the studio. For me, a new step is accomplished to recognize the video game as an art with this game. This is the first Naughty dog game I can say is worth playing for it's gameplay alone. The story shook me. This game takes risks, and they pay off imo.

    Un 10/10 es una obra de arte porque solo el arte transmite tantos sentimientos como este juego y comunica mas que lo que se ve a simple vista.

Yo a nivel personal si lo comprendí pero a nivel juego capaz necesitó eso.. El final creo que fue hermoso muy poético y épico tengo sentimientos y opiniones encontrados no me gustó que fueran tan cruel con ellie me hubiese gustado que mientras se alejaba a lo lejos se viera jackson que diera a entender que ahi se dirigía (detalles mas especificos) de lo contrario es muy triste por mas que se especule que ahi se dirige duele el no saber y en el caso de que no haya parte 3 me parece mal xd    … Expand

    This is graphically beautiful game with improved game play from the first. It does not feel antiquated in my opinion. The story is great if you like realistic character motivation and growth. Overall just amazing. I almost never play story focused games a second time but I will with this one.

    After waiting a whole 7 years of this games release after finishing and playing it, there’s many emotions you go through in this. Most of the feelings are crucial, playing as two people who both want revenge turns into something regretful which makes me feel angry. If you’re on the fence at least rent or borrow it before listening to the negative reviews theres a lot of backlash from biggots. Yeah things could have gone differently and by now most of you probably know what I’m referencing but it made me take everything that happened after so intensely personal. And yes the games pretty violent but let’s not pretend we’ve never played Assassins creed or Call of Duty the difference now is you get to know the people your killing and that your actions have consequences. The crafting in this game was fun, the level design kept me engaged. There’s so much to explore and seeing the notes left behind made me worry about those who lived in the spaces I explored.… Expand

    It isn't perfect, but neither is the first game. Incredible story telling, incredible art. The buildup of anxiety and jumping from intense scene to intense scene leaves you feeling like an emotional punching bag. Also, ND says Trans Rights!

    It's about 20 hours to feel, hate, understand and forgive choices and actions. The journey of vengeance, the loss, the pain and the lives in a world with uncertainty future. For me is GOTY for sure! Play and feel the history, and forget the rest!

    I've never had any piece of media emotionally drain and uplift me as much as TLOU2 did. I sat through the whole credits staring blankly at the screen as I had not a clue what to do with myself afterward in the best way possible. It's been on my mind ever since.

    The detail put into this game is astonishing. I really hate that people are review bombing the game because they don’t agree with some of the decision making. Naught Dog worked very hard on this game and it shows. The Story, Graphics, Sound Direction and emotional impact this game has is unparalleled. This game with have me thinking about it for a very long time.

    Gran historia, con flashbacks inolvidables una experiencia distinta a el primer juego, porque no se debe olvidar que es una secuela no un remake, graphicos exelentes no tant buenos como los de la publicidad pero buenos.
    Soundtack mismo estilo que el primero, muy intenso he inmersivo.

This is further complemented by the levels themselves being big and having multiple branching routes and secret or hidden locations. This games rewards exploration of it's environment and combat mechanics.

    I really liked the story and i am glad the story was narrated the way it was..not knowing any of the wlf while playing as ellie made me much more brutal towards them just like ellie was. And then understanding abby and wlf and scars and owen,mel,lev,yara really made me see that nobody is right and all are just a product of their environments. The end really stood out. This game is poetic.
    Also such lush environments and visuals.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I more than loved this game. The first was, for me, the best PS3 game and the second that of the PS4.

    Before talking about the story, it's worth talking about the graphics, the gameplay ...
    This game is very immersive, killing an enemy and hearing his companions yelling his name makes it very real, the moments of "hide and seek" where discretion is a real advantage in front of his enemy. I found it all very logical and real again. Depending on your level of difficulty, the adventure takes on a different meaning. I played as a survivor and it was very complex!

    The story is full of incredible subtlety and detail. I was lucky not to have been spoiled, Joël's death was very hard because I did not expect it at all. I must admit that I was crying at that time, the actors did an incredible job.

    It was at this precise moment when I felt a pain comparable to that of Ellie and a desire for revenge to be satisfied. Throughout history, Ellie maintains a notebook that can help us better understand how she feels, which is very useful.
    Her relationship with Dina is sweet and authentic, I really appreciated it. Much less appreciated than seeing Ellie sink into darkness, as with Nora's torture. For me, from the time Joel died, Ellie died inside too. PTSD. Killing a pregnant woman was the last hammer blow, driving it into darkness.

    And here is the big moment: Abby finds Ellie. And something I didn't expect either, we end up playing Abby. I was disgusted, I didn't want to play this character who had killed one of the characters who had touched me the most in any work. And yet, getting to know it, understanding its feeling of revenge humanizes it and we are "forced" to appreciate it a minimum.
    We are all someone's bad guy depending on where we stand.
    I can't say I loved this character, let's say more than I accepted her. I found a form of symbolism between her and Lev, like a feeling of seeing the beginnings of the relationship between Joel and Ellie.

    Then here is the big moment, the confrontation between Ellie and Abby but from Abby's point of view. Big shock for me, I expected to be Ellie for this fight which pushed me to do things which I did not want. I had never felt a feeling comparable to this during a game, literally I refused to do that! The fight ends, Abby spares Ellie thanks to Lev.

    And finally a moment of peace and sweetness, Ellie marrying Dina's dream of having a farm and living away from all her problems. Except that the shadow of the PTSD still hangs over Ellie and Tommy did not help her having lost everything and now became thirsty for revenge.
    I was against this decision, to see her leave her family, wife, child and her existing happiness for a quest for revenge. I was against but ... What if it was my father who had been tortured? I don't know what I would have done.

    So here we are in Santa Barbara. Abby and Lev kidnapped by slavers and Ellie on his tracks.
    Ellie finds herself in a calamitous state in this last quest for revenge, open deep in the belly, emaciated ... She even wonders about her death, perhaps imminent. Thanks again to the notebook.

    The beach, Abby unrecognizable ... Ellie blinded by his revenge demands a last fight.
    I also didn't want to fight, feeling pity for Abby and finally for Ellie. And it is there, in a last moment of rage that Ellie sees her last moment with Joel. It all makes sense and Ellie releases Abby and lets her go with Lev. Killing Abby would have destroyed Ellie even more, or at least the little humanity she has left.

    This quest for revenge will have lost everything Ellie had. Dina and JJ left the farm and Ellie lost two fingers, she can no longer play the guitar. The guitar representing his link with Joël. A last flashback, a sublime moment that moved me to tears. She was going to forgive him, she had started to forgive him. But in an apocalyptic world (or not ...) death is everywhere and nobody is safe. Popular video game character or not.

    The end is sad, I had a hard time getting over it. As if emptied by this adventure. Again, I didn't expect such a sad ending for Ellie. She who was so afraid of being abandoned alone, it is her actions that will make her be.

    What an incredible game, everything is sublime and well constructed. This story is a wonderful experience.
    I have never felt emotions comparable to those that I felt during these 28 hours of play.
    The details add so much depth to the story.

    For me, as for its predecessor: it is a masterpiece.

    I hope to be able to play a third game one day, bringing a conclusion to this license.    … Expand

    i just finished this game 2 days ago and all i could say is.. what a masterpiece . its the best game i have ever play on the PS4

    i could understand some people really hate it becuase they killed their fav guy. But dont listen to haters. just play it yourself

    The last of us 2 took me to a place a game never took me before. It gave me all the feels. I enjoyed every second of it. I highly recommend it to everyone prepared for a mature and intense experience.

People are upset that the developers didn't make the most predictable boring happy ending plot that they had dreamed up in their unimaginative heads like most garbage marvel movies' plots spew out on a regular basis. One of the best games I have ever played. The people complaining cant even give a proper reason for hating it other than the fact that a certain character dies. The game shows you that Joel was not that good of a person and that him killing dozens of people that were trying to save humanity... has consequences... what did you think was going to happen. I knew 7 years ago he was done for in the next game.

    Hopefully this rating spamming does cause them to cancel a potential 3rd game.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
