I played this game twice in two weeks, it has been a month now and I still can't stop thinking about it. The whole thing is a masterpiece and an emotional throat punch on more than one occasion. It is easily my favourite game. Definitely GOT for me.

Better weapon choices, better fight SCENES, better character acting and a whole tonne of AI intelligence where you really do have to think of different ways to tackle certain scenarios. must admit I weren't HOOKED like I was the first game but still really enjoyed nonetheless.

Would I play through it again? Probably not... but that was just down to how long the storyline was. They done a great job. It may have lacked some immersion as some parts are free roam so it takes away some of the storyline as I like to explore EVERYWHERE. 7.9 out of 10!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game blowed my mind totally! Its not a cliche game like Uncharted or any other and its upset. This game is like a real horror which hold you in fear from first minute till you piss all water and after it, with heavy emotions. Also it broke your mind with its story turns. I was scared in hospital moment and cryed like a baby asked to take me home to my mom. The game is amazing with its game play and fightings, but too much cutscenes would like to play more not to look movies whole game.
Such amazing grey moral idea but i think more better will be to realize it in other game.
I was very upset to see Ellies sexual contact with her friend. Im not homophobic but this scene with kisses looks ugly, not romantic. Its like a porn... No needed this in games industry also i dont like to see hetero kisses in games it looks ugly too maybe more. This LGBT idea was realized very rough. And as we can see many people dont like LGBT more and more because of it.
Anyway the game looks beautiful, with its stupid story turns and now smart Ellie.
I played it for 3 times already, now im playing 4th time abd skipping most of story cutscenes.
After this part i think the story of this game is over.
Sad, broken and alone Ellie. Survived and thankful Abby.
I love this game to play. Hope next ND projects will be better and better.

Despite the fact that most sequels do not meet or even surpass the quality of their predecessors, I do believe that Naughty Dog outdid themselves with this game.

Everything about this game is fabulous, beginning to end. The first Ellie portion of the game is even better than the story of The Last of Us, and once you finish the game you are hit with this feeling of understanding as all the dots are finally connected, which was done in a way that leads me to the conclusion that this game rivals - if not surpasses - the first game in every way.

I'm not a fanboy per se - I actually came into the game a little bit on the skeptical side, thinking it might be overhyped. I enjoyed TLOU1 back in the day, but I'm a little jaded after years of AAA titles not *quite* living up to expectations. I was happily surprised -- this game thrilled and surprised me in ways that few games do these days.

    A few highlights, for me:
    - Gameplay: the gameplay itself is *so* well-executed. Everything "feels" great - movements and actions have real weight to them, and it's a breeze to move through the world and take down enemies. The core mechanics of this game are near-perfect, and so ultimately it's a joy to play.
    - The incredible immersion (+ superb attention to detail): This may not seem super important, but right after I finished TLOU2 I went into Ghost of Tsushima (another AAA title) and realized -- wow, TLOU2 is in a completely different league when it comes to the "little touches" that add to the realism and feel of the game. A lot of this is in the way the characters move. Reaching for an item, switching weapons, opening up drawers, vaulting over obstacles -- all of these are just *perfectly*, dynamically animated. There are barely any cutscene breaks, nearly everything happens "in-engine" without breaking immersion.
    - The story: I played through the game without first reading about the controversy, and FWIW I loved the story. It felt original, surprising, and fresh. I don't want to dismiss anyone's opinions, but candidly it feels like much of the backlash to the story is rooted in feeling shocked and dismayed by a key narrative choice, and wanting to invalidate the entire story because it doesn't give them the fan-service they were looking for. The story *is* shocking and upsetting, but for me, it completely worked. It's certainly emotionally gut-wrenching, and I think maybe that's too much for some people to process.

I'll stop there for now, but just want to say THANK YOU to the TLOU2 team. This game felt like a real labor of love, and it's honestly hard to move onto other games after this. I'll be thinking about this game for a long time - for me, it's one of the gold standards.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I started playing the game 3 days before my father’s Memorial Day. It’s 14 years since he’s gone. He was a great man and passed away on speed. Before his death my parents fell out due to his mistakes as a family man and he had been living apart from us for 6 months. The saddest thing was that we never really appreciated him, despite his several mistakes as a husband and father, and that we didn’t live together when this happened.

And I couldn’t be more shocked when I finished the game on the 29th of July, 4 hours into the Memorial Day. I couldn’t be more schooled how this game and its complexity corresponded with my feelings. I blamed mom, I blamed his drunk friends who let him sit in the car, I blamed everyone. But overtime I realized just as Ellie that we should just let go. And it’s been 2 days I’ve crying these tears, never as much as I used at the fall of July.

10/10, thank you for the game, Naughty Dog.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I found it to be depressing yet compelling story. I was hooked from the start. Beautiful landscapes from empty cities being reclaimed by nature to snow covered hills and forests. Combat can be intense especially against human threats. I personally enjoyed stalking my prey more during combat with human enemies compared to the infected.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I finished TLOU2 a few weeks ago. I did it in the span of 5 days. The game is amazing looking, you could say best graphics ever, until the next big game that is. Graphics are not as important to me as the gameplay and story are for my experience to be enjoyable. Being a father of three and fully employed my time is very valuable to me. So when I choose to take my limited time to play through something as dark as this for a few hours at a time it had better be worth it. The good news is that it is. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was surprised around every corner for the most part. I loved Abby as a character and even though she kills Joel in the opening few hours. I learned to care about her and her story. However the big twist in why she was after Joel in the first place I saw coming a mile away, from the beginning prologue and also one of the most talked about parts in the late game of the first game. I knew that Doctor was her dad. So that was a big revelation that I kinda figured out on my own. I was also pretty sure Joel was going to Die as well due to the Marketing. It was either Joel, Dina or Tommy. I just assumed it was Joel because it would have the biggest impact. I don't fault the writing in this game. Although a bit drawn out in the end. It's Naughty Dogs story to tell. Is it where I saw it going? Not at all. Was it still interesting. Hell yeah. Some of the relationships and sex scenes made me uncomfortable but I am sure homosexual gamers have felt uncomfortable while sitting through heterosexual relationships and sex scenes, so yeah I get it. Not everything has to or should fit in that box. That Abby sex scene though, especially made me feel shocked. It was like watching Rambo getting pegged from behind. I don't know what a equivalent would be for the LGBTQ community but I kinda got a Asexual killing machine vibe from Abby and that seemed kinda forced. However like I said it's their story to tell and I enjoyed 96% of it. The last three hours though I just wanted it to end. Gameplay was great for the most part. The combination of stealth and action are quite exciting and tense. However the majority of the time I just took everyone out right at the beginning of the fight. Only a few times was I strategic. Making a bad Video Game is hard I could only imagine the work that went into this great game. It is great. However it's not a classic like the original. But it's damn close. The whole commentary on violence seems a bit pretentious. I mean the game forces you to kill. Neil Stickman should play Undertale. It's been done already and better with worse graphics. Expand

My opinion on TLOU2 is a story told through a game where you are more than a passive listening. There are dramatic points where you physically progress the story and those moments stand out for me. I would suggest this game to any adult and ask them to step into the story and let it carry them. Frankly, I don't understand why so many users give it a bad review. I guess they missed the point for some reason. Raging like that on a game like this just does not sound justified to me.

Agreed, P1 was an exceptional strong story, the ending was exceptionally engaging, and the follow-up to it was superb.

P2 is about something else. It's not about a satisfying end, people getting what they want, dancing unicorns on a infected rainbow.

It's about paranoia, mental decay, people going nuts in a world gone beyond nuts. It gives us insight in two people coping with this daily sledgehammer of mental abuse in their own way. And the interesting part is that those two people's lives are entwined in something resembling a chaotic death spiral of revenge and spite.

There's a (ugly, nasty, cringy) beauty in that. How they cope with their challenges, the injustice& losses they endure. It makes this story about a antagonistic struggle of GOD (capable of mercy, even when she sees so much death and inhumanity) vs the DEVIL (can't get closure on the death of a loved one who she can't forgive for what he's done) - it's complicated.

Abby beating Ellie at her game (being sneaky), then Ellie beating Abby at hers (brawling) is some kind of genius master plot awesomeness I have not seen often. Which fit perfectly in the antagonistic clash of them both against each other. We had the privilege being part of that process, understanding how it shaped their actions and their own sanity.

It made me frustrated and sad to see what Ellie has become.
It made me feel relief that there is still sanity in that distopic world by seeing Abby make the arguable mistake of giving mercy twice, even though it cost her all her loved ones. Even though I thought she just was a generic 'baddy' at first.

Maybe that is why so many people are so frustrated and give this title a bad score. They don't like what Ellie (and being the player, they themselves) become. Or maybe they just don't understand what the story is about.

That's the danger of a story that's not aimed to please the viewer. They might get frustrated, or just miss the point.

But that just makes this game a misunderstood *masterpiece* to me.

I’ve been playing videogames for over 30 years and Have rarely felt the Enjoyment and interest in the story, environment and characters like this one. Maybe RE4... the graphic and sound care are also superb. I just cant understand the low critics. This IS the game of the year!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I absolutely love this game. The first few hours in were brutal to me. After witnessing Joel’s death it felt like I had witnessed my own family members death. It was hard, I wanted to put the controller down and stop but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. The story, the graphics, the emotional rollercoaster that it takes us on is amazing. Especially all of the tiny details they added, quite amazing to find some new ones. You really have to be open minded when playing this game. This game is quite the opposite of the first. The first was about love and building that close father daughter relationship we admired so much. The second takes you into dark territory. Naughty Dog took the hard route and produced something that viewers weren’t expecting at all. I think it paid off. It tells a real story about how blinded one can be by revenge/guilt that we don’t take the time to end the cycle of violence. People say ellie lost everything. If you look closer into all of the small details I’d say the only thing she “lost” were two fingers and someone that was willing to do anything to protect her. People are mad that we didn’t get to kill Abby. By doing that, it wouldn’t have done anything. It wouldn’t have brought Joel back, it wouldn’t get rid of her grief (it would probably give her more just like we saw abby still dealing with the killing of Joel), and it wouldn’t have allowed her to forgive herself for what happened between her and Joel. I believe this game is yet another masterpiece by Naughty Dog. Expand

Amazing followup to the first game, might not be to everyones taste but anyone who thinks the story is objectively bad needs to grow up and get over it.

By no means perfect but this game deserves a 9 because i've never had anything move me in the way it did.

This game is shining example of why video games are the ultimate story telling medium.

The game is very good because after it you think for a long time. I almost passed it to platinum, i.e. now in the middle of the game for the second time. I watched after passing the opinions of other people and was surprised how many opinions about the game, and they are insanely different. But I felt emotions and got what I wanted.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite all the hate this game got I still think it was a really great game though it did have some flaws. Here's why:

When Abby killed Joel it was understood that this person is to be hated as she has just demolished one of the most beloved protagonists in video game history. During the first ten hours of the game ( played as Ellie) my rage for Abby was building up and I didn't give a flying **** who I was killing to get my hands on her. It was all like that until we come across Nora. She's the first friend of Abby's that we actually get to talk to. After that encounter, you can see that Ellie is shaken but still continues to move forward. She goes to the aquarium and kills Mel and Owen who I didn't care much for but again Ellie is ****ing disturbed to learn that the lady she just killed is pregnant. Yada Yada Yada Abby comes in and kills Jesse (Who I personally liked), grabs Tommy, and points a gun at Ellie. At that moment I wanted every bad thing to happen to Abby and had nothing but hatred for that character.

Then the screen goes black. Time runs back and you're playing as Abby from four years back. At this point, I realized why this game got so much hate. You play as the person who killed Joel. During the ten hours of the game, I didn't connect one bit with Abby or her dumb friends. I didn't feel bad for killing them and I just wanted to go back to playing as Ellie. Personally I found the Abby gameplay pretty fun but I just didn't enjoy being here. You do get to see why Abby wanted to kill Joel and I started getting her side of the story a bit.

We come across Yara and Lev. After helping them out a bit Abby loses all the respect she got from me for helping these scars by wanting to see if her retarded boyfriend was okay. After a scene I wish I can erase from my mind, she
goes back to help Yara and Lev. During this time you get to know them a bit more. But when you go to the hospital with Lev that's when I start liking Abby a bit more. The time with her and Lev reminded me of the time with Joel and Ellie from the first game. They bond a bit and Lev even tries to open up. We see Abby not being selfish and caring for the safety and well being of Lev and Yara.

During the sniper scene, I really ****ing hated whoever was behind that scope. I couldn't wait to get to him and **** him up, but then we realize that the sniper that we were hating on was Tommy. It's really interesting to see that perspective can change a lot and that's what naughty dog was trying to show us in this game.

When we get back from the island I kinda felt bad for her. She just lost her group, everyone she worked with thinks she's a snake, and when she opens the aquarium door shes gonna find Mel and Owen dead on the floor, she lost everything. I felt bad for her but I didn't really care for her at that point that much that I would be sad if Ellie randomly popped up and shot her in the head. I think I was more attached to Lev than I was to Abby. His story seemed more interesting and I saw him as a likable character. He was literally the reason I liked Abby even if it was just a bit.

It's weird because at the theatre I didn't want Abby to die but then SHE KILLS fricking TOMMY!! (or I thought). I felt really bad playing as Abby and beating the **** out of Ellie because I wanted Abby dead for killing Tommy. I had confused feelings for her. I think Naughty Dog thought that by the end of the ten hours you would be attached to her or something but that obviously didn't happen with most players.

It's crazy how if Ellie didn't leave to find Abby again in Santa Barbara, Ellie would've been happy with her family but Abby and Lev would've died, but Ellie did go and Abby and Lev lived and probably moved to the fireflies base to live a happy life while Ellie lost her two fingers, lost Dina (not confirmed), and couldn't keep the promise with Tommy.

We get to see the flashback of Ellie's last conversation with Joel and it was a really beautiful moment.

THE FLAWS: First and foremost let's get to the fact that Joel would've never revealed his name or entered a building to a group of armed strangers. That was just bad writing. Mel going to combat was stupid plus Joel saved Abby but she still killed him making Abby's logic a bit confusing. I didnt connect with Abby's friends that much as the game intended to.

Overall the game had the best graphics on the PS4 so far. The writing wasn't all awful it was just not sequenced properly and it could've been way better (Like if we played as Abby before killing Joel). Again the flashbacks were really well-timed and wholesome. The gameplay was pretty fun. The story wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was really interesting seeing the other side of the story. It wasn't as good as the first game but I wouldn't blatantly give it a 0 for no good reason.

Great game with gorgeous graphics and animations. Gameplay is solid and very good. Never been so conflicted between 2 main characters, Abby and Ellie are real humans from flesh and blood and it's so well written. Only downside are the side characters, they don't flesh them out so much like in the first game.

The SJW- section of this game is not only minimal, but fairly well done, and for the most part fades into the background unless you're looking for something to be mad at.
    SPOILERS BELOW
It is absolutely essential to finish the game to maximize you're enjoyment, but man. It's gonna get hard to finish. This game is AT LEAST 5 hours too long, the first game works because it tells a simple story, with heavy character buy in, you understand their motives, and that even the unacceptable things you do are essential in some way to the task at hand. For this game, the task at hand is far less motivating. STILL. I LOVE all the side characters, I love Lev, I love Dina, I love Jesse, and i love Tommy, on that front the performances, and animations are great.
    THE GAMEPLAY
IS HUGELY IMPROVED FROM TLOU 1, it is much more fluid, much more of a game, much more fun, and playful, and will be MORE RE-PLAYABLE. AND THIS COMES AT THE DIRECT EXPENSE OF THE STORY..
This said, there are 2 mechanics that severely hamper the gameplay, and are not super welcome. You can figure out how to deal with them, but the more time you are willing to spend on each "stage" the better your experience will be, and depending on how you play games, your mileage will vary.
    Shamblers are AWESOME! Very welcome
New NPC skins, and new sneaky kill- plus dismemberment mechanics are BEAUTIFUL
    BACK TO THE STORY
It is dark, and depressing for MOST of the game. It is hard, you never feel like you're playing as a good guy. You never feel like you're doing the right thing. If you stop at the wrong time on your first day of playing it MIGHT spoil your WHOLE GAMEPLAY, which shouldn't be able to happen, but in this game it really might. It tells you for 25+ hours that the story is about 1 thing, drawing parallels between the characters of the past game, and drawing new boundaries about what can constitute a protagonist with them still being a "good guy". This all culminates in a terribly misjudged portion of the game which I purposefully failed multiple times where one character hunts another character who you like much much better. And this is PURELY because she's not so charismatic. It would be like if you saw Black Widow in the Avengers killing children, and then they showed you Captain Marvel breaking her arms and you were supposed to root for her. AND THEN in the final 3 hours of the game, it pulls a switcheroo on you and tells you that what it was telling you about was all wrong, it shows you that it was about what it means to lose love, the pain, permanence, and persistence of losing someone you love, that there's no way to return that person to you. You will never be whole again, and it leaves some beautiful homages to the original game which WORK, but you MUST get to the end to get that, through a story that is TOO LONG. It makes sense by the end, but it takes too long to get there. Please just be patient, and it's beautiful. The timing is wrong and part of that is because you can tell the writer was unsure whether he could write this while assuming people played the first game (which is misplaced humility), but by the end it rewrites itself and gives you something worthwhile.
I will also say, after I finished it, I was totally ready to be done with it and immediately lent it to a friend. But then I haven't been able to go a day without thinking about it, it is stuck in my head, and the way they weave the picture IS masterful. It's not perfect, but it is almost still a masterpiece. It's not as good as the first game, because there's a lot of innocence and youth in the first game. This one is much darker, but it gives you some light in the dark at the end, so please just finish the game, and please be open minded about this story. It is excellent, not perfect, but it is beautiful and excellent. Please play it, please finish it, please think about it

Which is why there may be so many poor reviews. It never begs the player to look into the deeper meanings nor into the complex issues of ptsd and survivors guilt. It deals with triggers and the responses to them, and how does one move past them, how to truly let go of hate. But for those willing to go deeper there is a beautiful commentary on all of these subjects. The games graphics are stunning, the game play is solid. Most of the 0/10 reviews are from people who likely dont own the game and are upset because it is "political" even though politics play no role (merely having a gay character does not make a game political). The story is a seemless transition (although also a stark contrast) from the first game, and will undoubtedly be touted as a defining game in this generation.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For me it's a 10/10 game, probably my favorite. Even those who don't like the story admit that the graphics are beautiful and the game-play is great. I love how the cut scenes transition into the game-play, it's so smooth, no loading screens, the dialogs don't end after the cut scenes but follow us everywhere when two of the characters are interacting with the settings, just like in Part I. For those who don't like the story, well.. stories don't always have a happy ending. Also, negative character development is still character development.
I avoided all the spoilers on purpose, so it was kind of surprising for me when they killed Joel, I thought this was not something that any game developer wants to torture their players with... I was really angry, screamed at the TV, so when I had to play Ellie to take revenge on Abby, my hatred for her and Naughty Dog was the fuel. I even felt good about killing the dogs, to be honest, as they made my path to revenge a lot more difficult. And then the twist: I had to play Abby. I didn't want to. And then I went through a real emotional roller coaster as I got to like her and feel sad for the dogs I killed as Ellie. I believe Lev was a fantastic side character, his and Abby's dialogs were cute and funny, just like the chemistry between Ellie and Dina. I like both. The ending was brutal, I didn't want any of the women to be killed. I got to understand the motivation from both sides, and I understood they are the victims of the world they live in. Is there anything I would change in the game? Definitely yes. Is there any other game that could affect me emotionally this much? Definitely No. A game doesn't need a happy ending to be a masterpiece. This game is one.

Thankfully, I got the game and realized what a mistake that would have been. I'll never again listen to Bozo's pandering to such an angry demographic. The Last of Us 2 is a fine example of going outside the box and not just sticking to the same formula that made the original such a classic. Ellie's all grown up and you can see how strong her relationship with Joel has gotten throughout the years although, there's a slight discrepancy in the relationship as a nod back to a decision that was made in the first game. All seems well as the characters have been living in a new town and have grown relationships with new characters along the way. There's a change in the story which shifts the focus - Introducing you to a different set of characters which will come as a huge shock to fans of the original, but a closer look shows how valid the motivations of these new characters are while making you question everyone's morals as you come to terms with what life would really be like in such a horrible and unforgiving world.

Gameplay wise, it's every bit as smooth as you can remember. Even better - you're faced with new creative ways to advance further while fighting (or stealthily avoiding) new versions of the infected along with human characters which seem to have gotten a lot smarter since the original game. The world is a lot bigger, making you want to check every corner of every section in fear of missing something important or just wanting to keep your weapons, ammo and crafting materials fully stocked. Speaking of which, you might want to rethink how to engage certain enemy encounters as the ammo and supplies mentioned is not as easy to obtain as it once was compared to the original game. There's no right way to go about said encounters but keeping your available items in mind can help you make better decisions as one false move can mean your life. Visually, the game is just gorgeous. From the environment you're surrounded by to the enemy animations, so much attention to detail went into it. it's really hard to explain without seeing it for yourself. it's just amazing how much was pulled off graphically, it almost feels next gen. Audio quality is also top notch. there's really nothing I can negatively say about the audio except, the Clicker freaks me out more than it did in the original. *shivers*

The Last of Us 2 is a Masterpiece. Excellent Storytelling, Visuals, Acting, Music, Sound Design and most importantly, Gameplay. I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog has in store for this franchise moving forward.

For me the best thing about The Last of Us is they story that the game are telling. For Part II it's the same thing. The story telling is great, I've never played a game that told it's story in such a way as this game. It might not been the story that I wanted them to tell and during a chapter of the game I felt annoyed in regards for how they paced the story. However when I've reached the end of the game and understood the reasons behind the pacing I can see why they went that way. I can honestly say that I've never been so emotional invested in a video game story as I got in this one. Once you finish the game I highly recommend that you listen to their official podcast as it grants you even more insight to the characters and the story they're trying to tell.

The is a **** post apocalyptic world game. No one is invincible, and sad as it is Joel had already began to get old. This part gives us more insight and background on the fireflies, and it's **** brutal. I've never been more sad at a game, but that's how life is. The game is hyperrealistic, from game mechanics to telling stories within just found notes. It also is in the way that diversity is properly shownn. I can guarantee you the only people angry about this game a cishet white snowflakes that aren't used to playing a game so diverse. Also, the debate on Abby's appearence is utter **** if you care that much about a video game characters body build you must have some sort of I security issue. The last of us 2 makes some hard decision story wise, and there were some points in the game I questioned whether they were the best decision to make. Part 2 is hands down the best game i've ever played: stunning graphics, refined gameplay mechanics, improved AI, realistic game physics, incredible animations fluidity, much more than perfect story-telling.
Part 2 narrate the "path" towards Ellie's redemption, it's not a typical story of revenge. If you will play this game, you'll notice how Ellie hates herself and the antagonist for what happen. I had goosebumps for half of the game, i'm not joking.

Gameplay was well executed, but nothing new or original. I did enjoy the beats this game picked up and improved upon from the first. Gone are the weak puzzles, and escort missions. The story is the main center point of this game, and it doesn’t disappoint. A little heavy handed, but very enjoyable.

It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before. To those who’ve been affected by surface level story elements, and have felt angry and disappointed, and have taken these feelings way too far on social media, I ask you- what were you deserved? This was a great piece of art, and I hope the creators and developers know that there are people out there that have been moved by it, and appreciate it more than they could know. Expand

Una historia increíble, mucho más adulta y profunda que en la primera entrega. Y en cuanto a aspectos técnicos, llega al máximo rendimiento que se le puede pedir a un juego de esta generación. Impresionante.

Przepiękna, zjawiskowa, pełna emocji, brutalna z niesamowitym klimatem kontynuacja. Przepiękny świat. Jeśli chodzi o zarys fabularny to ja osobiście nie mam sie do czego przyczepić. Pewne wątki były do przewidzenia.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was hooked on this game. I thought it followed the story from Last of us part 1 very well. Regarding Joel's fate: it was well earned. It made what he did at the end of Last of us 1 matter even more. Great game, couldn't believe how big it was. My only reservation was having to play against Ellie as a boss. That was a step too far for me. Really hope there is a last of us 3 in development. Expand

These guys took an epic gameplay and made it even better.
    Technically it's excellent.
When it comes to plot they made some controversial decisions to devote great amount of gameplay to a new hatefull character, but after finishing the game it becomes clear why they chose this way.
They needed to say something, something that not everyone understood or liked, hence all the hate.
I still prefer part 1, but this is a great game nonetheless

Everyone who knows about scripts, knows now that what happened was the only option, any other path would be simple, predictable and in a "bad" argumental way, but sadly satisfying to the public. It's just... A misunderstood story

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Finally finished this game and I must say that this is one of the best game I've ever played. The game is so dark and brutal which is why this is one of my favorite game now. It's sad to see so many 1 ratings and most of these people have problems with how a character look physically and that their favorite character Joel dies. I loved Joel, he was my favorite character too but characters die that's how some stories are written and that's what make a story good and I think writers made the right decision to kill Joel the way it happened. Abby's character had great character development. Seriously can't understand people giving this 1 rating. This is a story about revenge and forgiveness, maybe put aside your personal problems with how a character look and how they should look or character orientation and maybe then you'll see how great the storytelling is and the message behind the story.
The gameplay is satisfying and graphics were unbelievable. The level of detail in every single scene is on the next level. I just stared at the environment in every scene I entered. I think this is the best post apocalyptic world I have ever seen, better than the zombie movies.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
