    After finishing the game and then spending quite a bit of time reflecting on what transpired, I understand what they were trying to do . Its a complex game more so than the first part. This game tries to do a lot and sometimes its ambition loses its grasp but stay with game I have played quite a lot of games but never have a felt emotions this raw.     Sorry haters, TLOU2 is the best game of the year and even the best art product if considering its storytelling, graphics, and cinematic representation. I don't want to play any other games after this, just want to lead a happy life. But of course, I will touch the console one more time when TLOU3 comes out!

    The game had me gripped. It’s the first game in a long time where I was sucked into the story. It’s gritty, it’s dark and it’s not “fun” - but it’s fantastic.

    Im not a gamer, GTA, COD, Fifa, bores me. I dont even own a PS I borrowed my sons, I loved the original and i loved the sequel even more, right to the final credits.

    This game is **** amazing. One of the best looking games I've ever played. The combat feels great, as does exploring all the amazing scenarios in the game. The story will make you feel all sorts of emotions with its incredible writing and characters. Definitely one of the best games of this generation.

    From the beggining, you can't give it less then a eight: the made of this game is absolutly madness, the details are mind blowing.
    I personally broke this game a lot of time, but it's me searching that kind of "fun".
    I had the fortune to play this game without knowing nothing, nothin about rewiev bombing (like you that you're infuriating for my commenyt eghhhhuuuzz), haven't see any trailer; this summer when i had a break during my last job, i was wandering on amazon and i saw tlou part 2, my reaction it has been like OH **** TLOU PART 2?!!!!!
    i bought it for 50 euros and waited three days.
    After this days and a lot of km on bike asking my friends for a ps4, i went home and with and i started playing.
    After few hours, Joel died, I always been a fun of this game, that hurted me a lot, i think i've droppped some tears.
    As me, Ellie start with Dina and than Jesse her revenge trip...but what about her thoughts, her psichology, her focking diary??
    the motion capture has made miracles in this game, **** every one here have ever tried to undertand humns feelings? because these are not characters, they were written to be humans...come on people, you have friends and a relationship with someone...or you're life stop in front of a monitor beacuase if it is, get outside and get a social life.
    Every single action in the game mean something for them, EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM (cit eheh)
    Abby....ohohoh this is fat meat...in the first run I complitly hated Abby, when she died i laughed a lot but during her days, i started to apriciate her; in this game, Abby and Lev are Joel and Ellie, their relationship is the one we missed after Joel's death.
    It's meanfuling if think about this,,,or you can't?
    No because the 90/95% of the critics about this game is totally ****ed up, groupe of miserables...my mother language isn't english and i don't have the right skils to kill every senseless critics, i would like but i can't.
    The final...after all, Ellie is completly broken (if you have red the diary, followed the cut scenes and undertood her feelings you know that) and leave her dream farm with to search herself (if i ever were to lose you, i'd surely lose myself...), she thinks the best way is to kill Abby and she doesn't have killed Abby because if she did, then she surely kill herself.

    I'm here not to write a rewiev, i'm here because i'm very angry with you people, because you ruined the sharing of this game, you totally misundertood th whole game, the gossip ABOUT Abby and Lev it's WOW and then destroyed the experience of houndreds of thousands of people because of your little brain.

    This game is depressing and I love it. Some minor issues. But not enough for me to dislike the game in anyway. I understand that half of the player base doesn't like the story, but I also don't really care. I loved the story. I got the game that I wanted. I'm playing it for the 3rd time right now.

    This game has everything that makes a game good, there are moments of sadness, anger, nostalgia, joy, adrenaline, etc.
    I don't understand why many people hate it, I will only say "TLOU 2 is not for the weak".
    This game is simply a masterpiece.

    The gameplay is really well refined from the first game as well. It's utterly laughable how many people can rate it zero. Even if you absolutely detested the story, there is really no denying that the gameplay is fantastic.

    I give it a 9/10 as there's some areas of the story that I wish were elaborated more and some areas where the pacing felt off (mostly too slow). Several side characters felt like they weren't elaborated on strongly enough. And I felt it was far too easy to miss collectables, due to the many "one way doors" that the game has (I had multiple safes I knowingly missed as I thought that the clue to the combination was maybe behind some door). But for clarity, this game is damn near perfect!    … Expand

    Frankly, one of the best games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. I can understand *some* of the criticism, but it feels like a lot of it has been overshadowed by reactionaries painting a harrowing story of women driving their families away with the pursuit of revenge at all costs for an ultimately holllow victory as a "pro-woke" power trip.

For the people giving bad grades cause they dont understand the story and the meaning behind it u should really play attention cause this is not a game where everyone is happy this game shows that every action you took in the first game with joel has consequences he kills so many people and this story shows that joel is not a hero and naughty dog showed that through abby's story, there are so many messages in the game like after the last fight with abby ellie is alone wich she mencioned was her biggest fear in the first game, tommy in the end represents those who couldnt understand abby's side and he lost an eye showing the blindness of those who only think of revenge and cant see that this is not a hero's story this is a "realistic" world where dog eats dog, and there is this cycle of hate that goes for to long and ends with ellie losing everything Dina,JJ, her friends and her fingers wich she used to play guitar the only thing that connected her to joel leaving her with nothing.

    Gameplay whise was a big upgrade from the first game the different craft style, the way the enemies showed the and freedom they give u to explore the areas.

    The graphics are perfect not much to say about that.

    Brilliant game. Loved every second of it. very detailed and has a harrowing story. Great step above part 1. Will be remembered as one of the greatest games of all time and one of the best stories ever told through any medium.

    Absolutely fantastic gaming experience from a technical standpoint. So immersive and well thought out. I was constantly being impressed by the little details and interactions with the environment and the enemy AI.
    It feels really brave that the designers took this route in storytelling. I am happy that this is the case even thought it is an AAA release.

Even I will admit this wasnt the direction I was expecting or was prepared for going into the game, the first game has and always will have a special place in my heart because ive always considered it my favorite game of all time due to reasons that are intangible.. Never has an experience game, movie, or book so effortlessly and effectively immersed you and grounded you in a way that truly makes you feel like you are taking an active part in actions that are both in and out of your control, and how that makes you feel as the story transpires is so unique. I really dont want to say much because as a fan I stayed away from ALL spoilers before experiencing it for myself, and if you can do that you will truly be blown away by the experience and adventure this game takes you on. The writing and performances are flawless, genuinely flawless and characters are incredibly and perfectly flawed.. It makes you think about characters, choices and their ramifications long after its over in a way that can only be experienced first hand.. If I had to pick one theme for this game both in and out, its perspective, which is powerful considering the hate this game has been getting for reasons I can't explain.. I'm not saying its perfect, and if you dont like it after properly playing and experiencing it for yourself, I can see how it wont be for everyone, it surely cant be..but to the people hating cuz of gender, plot they haven't experienced and homophobia, **** you! if you had a braincell in your peanut you'd come up with your own story and characters if you felt that strongly about it, piss stains.Thank you Neil and team.… Expand

Loved how you shook it up for a truely desirable story that does not follow traditional story telling for the weak minded people out there who bashed this game.     Story.: I enjoyed the story for the most part. I didn't like the first bits of the Abby storyline as the game really tried to push the "look how nice Abby is" narrative (I mean it's fine but it should be done with more finesse, it just felt really dumb to me).     Story.: I enjoyed the story for the most part. I didn't like some of the secondary characters either. The longer I played however the more I liked the Abby story. I absolutely loved the showdown with Ellie during the last parts of the game. As a whole I felt really engaged through the whole Ellie campaign and I would say 2/3 parts of the Abby story.

    Graphics / Sound / Atmosphere.: Simply put, the graphics are one of the best the ps4 can offer, probably the best. The Sound is also great. You can choose between many different options (theater, surround, stereo, headphones). You can even choose the virtual place / angle of your speakers. In general the game has a lot to offer in terms of configurability. There are even several options for handycapped users. The game has a really bleak / dark atmosphere, combined with great sound and graphics that I enjoyed quite a lot.

    Gameplay.: I can't say that often enough but you should really play the game on the highest or at least on hard difficulty, no matter what. This makes the game truly special. You will need to scout trough the levels as much as possible due to resources being scarce. Due to this and the smart enemy AI every enemy encounter will be nerve wracking. You will also have more reason to sneak around and use bomb traps for example. Depending on the difficulty I would give the game a higher or lower score, it really has a big impact on the gameplay. Just one more negative point, the companion AI is absolute garbage. Literally got me killed several times (blocked my way, didn't help at all).

    Conclusion.: I enjoyed ellies / abbys revenge trip as a whole. The story was dark, brutal and captivating. Some parts could have been executed with more nuance (joel/abby scene, several scenes within first few hours of the abby story) but overall and in addition to the fun gameplay and tight atmosphere it was a great journey.

    I finished TLOU 1 twice and loved it. Now i just finished TLOU2 and i think it's a very worthy successor and doesn't deserve the zero's. Most of the critisism is because of 'that one narrative choice' and the amount of SJW stuff in the game. They put a lot of effort in the game and it is one hell of a ride. While not a masterpiece maybe, it's definately not far from it. Going to finish itI finished TLOU 1 twice and loved it. Don't need to justify anything, if you have a clear sence of admiration towards in every way classfully produced game you will like it. P.s. I also think that the plot is incredible without thinking any politics, I also hate if there is forced social justice agenda. It consider it not simply the best narrative in gaming, but one of the best narratives in ANY medium. And while playing I kept waiting for whatever happens that caused so much controversy and hate. At first, I thought it was Joel dying - but that didn't make sense to me. Game of Thrones (before the last seasons) killed off tons of beloved characters and people still almost universally loved it. Was it that fact that Ellie is gay? That couldn't be it. We knew that from the trailers and the DLC for the first game. Maybe some didn't realize it, but there certainly can't be enough people angry at a character being gay to justify so many negative reviews. Then Lev came about, and I thought maybe it's that - but how could, what quite possibly be my favorite character be hated by so many unless it's bigotry. But I need to believe there's not enough bigots to account for so much dislike of the game. No that couldn't be it. So I kept playing, figured the problem would reveal itself later - but all the way until credits rolled the story just kept impressing me more and more. I do not understand how so many people dislike it. It's puzzling.

    I've read several negative reviews, and I just can't seem to see the other side of things. I assume it's the same for them, they probably think I'm blind or crazy for liking it so much (or assume I'm lying for some reason). It's baffling how divisive this story can be. It feels like it's literally a coin toss and you either hate the story or love it. I guess I consider myself lucky I fell on the love it side.

    But everyone can agree that graphics, gameplay and other aspects of production are amazing. The only warning I'll give to people wanting to play it - it is a very linear game. No choices affecting the story, the level design is well done but it is point A to point B. Which is exactly how the first game was, so if you liked the first game, you'll like this game - as far as gameplay goes. As for the story, I guess you'll need to flip the coin.    … Expand

The fact that so many negative reviews on this site were from players who didn't first play the game and then see how the story makes you feel - and were angry over a a certain character's demise - writing it off as 'bad writing' is a shame in itself that they may have completely missed the point in what makes a character good or bad and why you as a player sympathise with certain characters in the story. What if I told you that all the characters were baddies in this world? When I finished the game a few days ago, I have been thinking about everything that led up to that point for the past few days too and there is so much to ponder over especially as when you look back at all the characters and you see how divided the current world is, it is easy to see that if there was an outbreak of this magnitude (ahem), everything would indeed fall to ruin and people would become blinded by their own intentions. I think anyone who's written a negative review here will look back at their review after they've actually completed the game and reflect on how wrong they were. I challenge anyone here who has written a negative review to play the game to the end, then see whether or not you think Joel and Ellie are good people or maybe they lived long enough to become the baddies.… Expand

    This game has made me emotional in a way no game has done before. It's a harsh roller coaster of a story and really takes gaming story telling to the next level. What a great send off for the Playstation 4 generation! Well done Naughty Dog, well done.

    Gameplay- As expected ND blew it out of the park with the new enemy AI to thr way weapons pack the punch. Like for example shooting the pistol feels like pistol and shooting the revolver feels like a revolver with that heavy kick back and the harder shot. Just like that the arrows feel like they pierced the enemy. And traversing the world was pretty cool too. Felt really natural and the combat encounters were pretty tense and satisfying ( don’t know if it’ll be as satisfying if you’re just throwing bricks and stabbing from behind). which brings me to the ANIMATIONS! Boy oh boy this game has the best animations I’ve ever seen in a game. The only game that comes close is rdr2 but this set a bar for how animations should be. 10/10 gameplay Graphics- what can i say? It’s Naughty Dog so as expected they nailed it. The visuals look pretty af. I found myself walking instead of jogging/running because i wanted to look around and enjoy the views. Even walking through a dark corridor with the flashlight on is beautiful. And not to mention the facial expression while in game. Usually in games all the expressions and animations are only on cutscenes but in this even while playing the game we can see ellie’s face reacting according to the situation. 10/10 Visuals Soundtrack- Amazing. It really got the mood of the moments spot on. Even in gameplay going through a infected filled space feels tense and makes me lower the volume so if something jumps I’ll not get scared lol. Overall soundtrack was awesome. 10/10

Killing joel off like that was wrong. We all know how joel knew about the ambush in TLOU1 and how he don’t trust people easily. But on part 2 he probably got soft which is dumb considering the world they live in. So that’s a big L right their. Then after around 15hrs in we play as Abby- the women who killed joel. How in the **** would i want to play as Her when she molested joel like that? I mean if didn’t know joel then it’d be fine cause I wouldn’t care but i k ow joel enough so at that point i didn’t wanna explore much. I tried to cruise through as fast as possible although not gonna lie there were some pretty tense combat encounters which as i explained above was amazing. It’s just how they made me play abby after seeing her do that. I didn’t even wanna play as her. And at the end after going through all that the only person that lost more is ellie . Even her ****ing fingers! Are you kidding me??? And abby walks away lmao and the characters. Ellie,Joel,Tommy, the only people i cared about. Even after the credits rolled i gave 0 ****s about others. I just can’t believe they would **** up the story after the excellent story of uncharted 4. Overall there were some cool story moments but overall story was a L for me. Story 5/10

The voice acting is very superb, with everybody delivering great performances. Even though the story was very misleading via promotional material, I still really liked the narrative of the game. The game really plays with your emotions and really embraces the idea of points of view. The way it was executed was phenomenal. Just like the first game this game left me thinking, questioning and wondering about the characters choices, motives, mindset, actions and future outcome. I was left wanting more from the story.

    I made the choice to view the spoilers before release to confirm if certain rumours were true such as the character Abby being transgender, Ellie and Dina being killed by Abby, playing the end half of the game as Abby and the BS naughty-dog agenda of trying the shamelessly push and fit their SJW beliefs into the Last of Us universe. Although I took the risk of viewing heavy spoilers I was glad that I
    watched it as I discovered most of the rumours were not true and to no surprise I realised the pushers of these rumours where morons who assumed by the Abby characters appearance that she was transgender and ran with it.

    Although playing the game knowing the spoilers made playing the first chapter of the game less impactful I still enjoyed the experience and was worth playing from beginning to end.

    Knowing that the game is about hate I feel the stories focus was authentic and fitting to the last of us universe.

    Although I didn't like that Joel was killed and so early in the game when I look at the bigger picture I understood that at least from my perspective the last of us universe is a dark, brutal, violent, destructive world with high stakes, high risks and highly dangerous events and encounters and combined created a deeply violent but highly complex, unique and special character like Joel.

    I could not say he was a hero in the first game but I could understand why he made the choices he made. I just see him as human, someone who tried to avoid but ended up naturally bonding with Ellie in their original journey. I feel I can't judge him for caring so much for Ellie to kill anyone that would end her life for a possible vaccine to save humanity.

    From the first game I would always wonder why a character like Joel would fight so hard to just survive in such a bleak, depressing and dangerous world with very little hope of change especially after losing his daughter Sarah. A character with so few morals (which I can't blame him for living in that world) would fight, kill and slaughter everyday just to survive another day and I just couldn't understand what was his drive or motivation to continue fighting in that world.

    Whatever his motivation was it lead him to meeting Ellie and he eventually found someone worth living and fighting for and did not want to risk loose that. He had no regrets in robbing Ellie of her choice to end her life for the possibility of a vaccine.

    I feel Joels past action were wrong, selfish and immoral but I can't blame him for making those choices. At the end of the day I feel he was a product of his environment. However I understand that Joels actions had consequences just like in real life. Joels choice to save Ellie sadly came at a cost of Abby's father being killed in the process with many other fireflies. It was inevitable that Joels past actions would catch up to him eventually and I could understand and except Joels death by Abby for revenge. I only wished his death wasn't so early on in the game as I would of liked to see more of Joel settled in Jackson along with Ellie, Dina, Jesse, Maria and Tommy.

    I understand that their where more backstories for some characters that where cut from the final game which was a shame as I would of liked to learn and know more about existing and new characters introduced in this game especially Joel.

    I liked playing as Ellie in the first part of the game but at times felt the pacing was slow and tedious but the gameplay and encounters kept me engaged. I really like how well the relationship with Ellie and Dina was crafted and wanted to see more of Dina with Ellie on her Journey to kill Abby.

    When it came to playing as Abby I initially felt fatigued and had little interest in seeing her world from her perspective. I did not dislike her for killing Joel as I understood her motives for it however I did not like her choices made in the the process of killing Joel. I hated watching Abby being saved by Joel before she kills him. It reminded me that Joel was a good person and Abby witnessed that and still killed him.

    I felt it was unwise of her to bring her team of friends to help her find and just kill Joel. This one person. In such a violent world it just felt unwise to take the time to risk your lives on the hope of helping Abby to track down and kill one person. It was also risky and to leave Ellie alive after killing Joel.

    It was obvious that Ellie would track down Abby and her friends for revenge and I had little empathy for them when Ellie killed them all especially Mel. I hated Mel the most. Why would anyone in that world get pregnant? and her choice to join Abby in killing Joel while pregnant and judge Abby for it made me dislike her character.    … Expand

    Simplesmente uma obra de arte, acho difícil eu em minha vida eu jogar algo parecido, muito obrigado pela experiência, fique muito puto e triste por terem descartado o Joel, mas nada foi acaso ou gratuito, mas acho que este poderia ser um The Last Of Us parte 3, mas enfim obrigado.     Just finished “The Last of Us Part II”, I found it to be a perfect ten out of ten. Great gameplay, amazing graphics and an incredible mature storyline. A must for every gamer to play and hands down the game of this generation.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
