Please don't let anyone discourage you from playing it, because frankly most of them are just throwing tantrums for no reason at all, or they just don't want to understand what this game is really about...it is not about Joel or Ellie or Tommy or anyone, it is about a post-apocalyptic world in which people act based on their natural instinct, there is no socially acceptable protocols that they have to consider , there is really no right or wrong in this world. And You get to experience more than one point of view and you get to judge for your self if something is right or wrong. It shows you that it is not a fairy tail, and there are consequences for every action.
-Game play, is 10/10 it can be very challenging, however it is very satisfying
-Graphics, 10/10 graphically it is very well designed
-Story, maybe 8/10 it is very emotional and brutal, you can feel how sick people can be and how no one is a hero
-length, 10/10 although i wanted more game play hours but it is lengthy and very engaging most of the time
-Horror 10/10 it is way more horrifying than the original and now you actually feel how terrifying it can be to live in such a world
-narrative design 10/10 it is very brave in its narrative, it doesn't care about your feelings at all
Over all it is not perfect but compared to other story-based games, horror games, shooter games, infected/zombies and rpg games The Last Of Us 2 is one of the top games ever made
if you are afraid of disappointment, pain and fear this is not a game for you
This game is for people who are not afraid to experience a brave, brutal, dark and bleak story about a world that these characters have to live in, not about some characters that live in an such a world

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I honestly loved the game. There were times where the story got a little hairy but it was able to pull it all together. I liked that I was able to play through the aftermath of what occurred in the first game. See how Ellie reacted when she found out what Joel did and how he lied. It was such a good revenge story for both Ellie and Abby. Surprisingly I gained a bit of sympathy for what occurred to Abby and enjoyed seeing her side of the story. One of my favorite parts of the game was the fight between Abby and Ellie in the theater. It was cool that you were playing as the antagonist instead of the protagonist while fighting against the main "good" guy. The story overall was fantastic as we saw development on both sides. Ellie gained a more brutal personality as the game went on as Abby gained more compassion. The parallel between Abby and Ellie were very pronounced. The last thing I want to touch on is the fact of how diverse the game is with there being a lesbian couple that wasn't over sexualized and the topic of transphobia was shown with what happened to Lev. I would highly recommend this game. Expand

When learned there was a sequal in the works back in 2016 I was both excited and worried that they would make a game not worthy the masterpiece they released back in 2013. The last of us part 2 brought forth the same excited, nerve-wrecking, anxiety, happy, sobbing feelings I had with the first one. Naughty Dog polished an already polished jewel and made yet another masterpiece with part 2. I was hooked from the start and throughout my 35+ hour playtime and my tears were running down my cheek when the credits rolled. There's a part of me that feel they could've given more screen time with Joel and Ellie to shine together before killing off Joel and also playing as Abby in the theater didn't resonate with me that much. But I get why they did it and what they're trying to tell us and I applaud Naughty Dog for having the confidence to make such a bold and beautiful sequal to a game that didn't need one. There's nothing out there that can compete with Naughty Dog both visually and in storytelling. Yes, I can see why this is a divisive game but it's a game still worth having played. Expand

The last of Us 2 is a masterpiece of the generation, with its perfect scenarios, together with its environments, and the climate, lighting, game mechanics, gameplay and movement, the characters' facial expressions, sound effects and the soundtrack sound, all charming.

You enter the heart, the humanity of the characters, embody your feelings and your dreams, your desires. Interpret and feel, the soul of each one, in its details. Unlike a film, you are in the skin of the protagonist, who increasingly makes you empathetic.

In this post-apocalyptic world, we reflect and see, how the society of good is more united and human, like the society of jackson. Values are different, there is no value for money, what remains are only the virtues of the soul, and your passions, be it for music, or dreams.
Unlike today, nobody needs to show off or put on makeup, hide their hearts, they have no futility or material possessions, only the truth, and pure emotion, soul, feeling, are properly valued.
Surviving sharpens your feelings. Living out of social status, and giving value to your feeling, and relationships, exchanges of emotions and affections.
That and passed in the lore of the game, all the characters, are more emotional and sentimental, deep in their being, being hard and brutal to survive, violent, but still loving and feeling.

Each subtlety, each attitude, you feel interpreting each act, each chapter of the protagonist's mentality, is a surreal experience.

You feel the soul, the feeling, the expression of Ellie in every song played on the guitar. This is incredible, just wonderful.

The story is impeccable, it was a great way to create a well done and exciting plot, which keeps you glued to the plot from beginning to end, and its impactful actions.

The game remains perfect, with a story that establishes principles and difficulties, demonstrating the brutality of survival. How people change for thirst for revenge, what they lose, and how far they go. Hate only ends when forgiveness begins.

In this game, as in the first one, it is not about heroes and villains, but about the behaviors and choices of the human life we make, and how they will trigger actions.
The best way to cut the sadness of losses through revenge, is by forgiving, breaking the cycle.
We lose humanity, we leave our passions in search of that thirst.

However, even with forgiveness, the consequences happened, they were great and without return for all the characters involved with the protagonists.
The journey of revenge cost him everything, that is very sad.

Game to question yourself, to evolve emotionally. Game of the generation without a doubt.
Is it worth hating? Peace can only be found through empathy. Hate and revenge are feelings that have a vicious cycle.

This game changed my life a lot, it impacted my way of thinking, how a game can convey something so profound and true, better than movies. In every detail and affection, that naughty dog put this eye candy for the eyes and soul .

Joel finds a new meaning in life, having feelings from father to daughter with Ellie, she changed her life, and transformed him into a new man, docile and protective.
Just as 1 made me change my relationship, how we should protect and love, and even about adopting a daughter, this made me go back to being emotional, and falling in love with the protagonist, and her little details, that pass so much from her soul and her personality. Ellie and lasts, and also a sweet person.

I recommend this game to everyone, it's a work of art.
A game that you feel, it changes your life.
Game to be admired, cultivated, reflected.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I unterstand why people are pissed. They don‘t like how the game killed off Joel and say that the story doesn‘t make sense. In my opinion it does. Of course, the fact that the doctor, Joel killed at the end of TLOU 1, hat a daughter that would hunt down her dads killer seems kinda random. In my opinion the story still makes sense. In the world of the Last of Us, people don’t die like heroes they just get shot or whatever and that’s it. The enemies you kill are just getting shot or stabbed and die without much drama and so do our protagonists. Joel, who forgot how to trust while living in his peaceful little town Jackson, Jesse surprisingly getting shot in the face by Abby and so on.
Also, Ellie is not better than Abby. They both kill with no regrets, the only reason you hate Abby and love Ellie is, that you know her from the first game.
At first I hated Abby as well but playing her backstory made me like her more and more.
The only thing that really pissed me off is the ending.
From the point on, where Ellie and Dina live on the farm, with Jessie’s Baby etc. the game felt kinda weird. Ellie looked weird, Abby looked like a totally different person, the whole thing just felt like a different game in the last few ours.
The Gameplay is not the best but actually improved a lot and is way more extensive and better to control then in the first game.

All in all I think that, even though the fame gets way too much hate, its a masterpiece and next to Part 1, one of naughty dogs best games.

It is the melody of violence and rage, and a demonstration of how a traumatic event can change us forever and bring us down to the depths of revenge. Revenge is a disease.

Abby's storyline shows us how our actions have consequences and that our perspective can be greater. While playing Abby, you learn why she killed Joel, and then you mean that Ellie and Abby aren't so different, they both lost a beloved one.

    The side qualities :
    - The sound design is good as hell !
    - Graphics (of course)
    - A basic gameplay in the service of history that didn't need to be fleshed out.
    - the themes addressed without forcing and propaganda (lgbt, religions...) its all about tolerance !

Secondly, the gameplay is also fun. You can sneak around if you want and kill everyone like an assassin or rush in and blast your way through but be careful... you do not have much ammo so look around all the time.
And lastly the story... As we all know there is some big controversy around it. I really enjoyed the story. Of course, there are a few things I would change. For example, it should be more chronological so that you play with both characters on the same day. But regardless of this story is really cool and surprise you every time. I think that everything that characters did is realistic and true to their characters. 2 hours from the end I was already thinking that it is over but then another part of the story kicked in and I was happily surprised.

I don’t usually take my time to write a proper review, but seeing this hate bandwagon made me realize there are a lot of people who have nothing to do in life so they **** on art they don’t enjoy (which is fine if they don’t like), but that’s not the case for most people giving 0’s to this game a couple of hours after the game came out (the game, I reiterate, is about 18-30h long.

But moving on to my honest opinion about this game in particular: I think the characters really stood out to me. As in any Naughty Dog game, this one is also very character-driven. Ultimately, this is a story about revenge, hate, and violence, but also about redemption and forgiveness. Yes, I agree that this theme has been heavily used in every entertainment medium, but they rarely do it justice. I can happily say that The Last Of Us Part II has not did justice to the theme itself, but also did stay true to the world, the character development, and the hidden symbology behind this perfectly crafted cyclic narrative (which I will not spoil, but it has to do with the ending itself). All the narrative beats fit perfectly with each other, and it always brings other elements of surprise, right when you think you know what to expect for the ending, another story beat hits you in the face and changes your perspective. Also, you should never go to part II expecting the same thing you experienced in part I. Although that same feeling can be felt through other types of relationships, and some perfect flashbacks, the first one is very different from the second one. Lastly, I just want to say that I think this game will not only define how we all experience video games in the future, but also define how they are engineered, thought, and its story will be discussed and debated for many years to come, just like we did for the first one.

PS: Don’t be the dick who gives 0’s without experiencing it.

    Pros: ALL, but . . .
Cons: The first 4 hours playing Abby like a character, I was HATING her, but after all long way, that I went through, I LOVED her as character.
I can understand, that some people doesn’t like the ending, but I LOVED It, Ellie just made a decision, which defined her as a person, and she’s alone, but she did right thing, she DID NOT kill Abby, but wanted all long way in the Game, she didn’t kill her because she is ABOVE It. Ellie understood, that she doesn’t hate Abby, now she hates only HERSELF, because she was stupid **** who rejected the dearest person in the world. And revenge for Joel it’s just a try to forgive yourself.
In the ending, Ellie repents before herself about everything she had done.
I LOVE THIS FRANCHISE, LOVE THIS GAME, I LOVE NEIL DRUCKMANN AND I LOVE NAUGHTY DOG!❤️

Visuals are stunning, the gameplay is the same of the first game but improved and with new mechanics like rapel, the story is pretty good and yes, Joel is killed but you can see an incredible evolution in characters and also you can see that all the things have consequences but the story has in my opinion a little problem at the end that can be solved in a dlc but it has the same quality as the first one.

In my opinion if you liked the first one you have to play this too and you will love it and also is one of the greatest games of the generation.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. During my first playthrough of this game I was finding it a little difficult to keep going, not because of the story choices, but because I just wanted resolution of some sorts and through all the character building it took longer than expected to get there. All the combat scenarios just felt like a delay on me getting to the end of the narrative that I was so invested in discovering. Now that I've had time to process and sleep on the game a bit (which it appears like some of you review bombing should have done), this game executes what it wants to. It's a much darker game of hatred and spite, full of revenge and how it's and endless cycle... until someone breaks it. If Ellie kills Abby at the end, Lev would just hunt down Ellie, JJ would hunt down Lev and on and on it goes. Abby and Ellie were both good people corrupted by hatred, a poison that has no true antidote. It's heartbreaking to see the spiral that ensues with a character that we loved but I also felt it was realistic given that Ellie needed her life to have a meaning. Joel selfishly saved her so he didnt have to live with letting down a second daughter, and took Ellie's chance at providing meaning in the world from her, leaving her with so much survivor guilt. Once Joel died, Ellie's existence meant even less as the one person that doomed humanity to love her, was gone. Her life had even less meaning than before (to her). Therefore this revenge tale is not only seaking revenge on Joel's killers, but her hunt to find meaning through justice.

The gameplay itself is naughty dogs best yet by far, and it definitely leans into it's survival horror aspect more than the first game. No that I've gotten through the story, I am excited to go back and try different tactics and find all the collectibles and platinum this game. Whether you love or dont love the story that was told, this game's narrative has changed how story telling in games will be from now on, much like the last one did.

To all of the review bombers out there, either you are an xbox fanboy (honestly just make the switch ...I did), or you had actually gripes with the narrative, which is fair! However whats not fair is giving this game anything below a 8, based on it's technical prowess and powerful story (like it or not). It's not a tale of love like the first game, but one that is powerful in it's own way, and I think the more people let the story settle with them, the better and better it will become.

The Last of Us changed the world of video games as it was not just a game but a life experience of unparalleled emotional depth that has never been seen before. While Part II is not on the same level, it took a different path by creating a dark, nonlinear and mentally destructive tale of revenge making it one of my favorite games on PS4.

The strongest element of this game is the emotional trauma that happens within the first hour which only gets more painful as the story progresses.

While exploring a meticulously crafted world where every abandoned room had a story to tell, I would catch myself standing and savouring the magnificent details unwilling to rush through a single meter. The music was divinely painful as every guitar string cut right in the heart. The brutal gameplay allowed Ellie to serve vengeance in the most horrific ways to NPCs that had names and often begged for mercy. Then suddenly, everything changed.

I did not understand why did I have to play as Abby. I hated her, I hated how she looked, what she said and no matter who she helped I felt nothing but infernal hatred. As the hours passed, my resentment grew to the point of bursting that happened during her final encounter where I was literally screaming because of what I was forced to do. I hated the game and what it was putting me through.

Even after switching back to Ellie, my heart kept pounding for an hour during which I realized that the point of Abby was not to show her personality but to fuel my hatred towards her and to further elevate my experience as Ellie. Mad with rage, I was ready for retribution but the last 10 impeccably crafted minutes changed everything. I felt Ellie's pain the entire game and yet, somehow I was ok with her decision.

During the epilogue, I realized how much the game has played with my hopes and feelings by not allowing me to know where the story was going. It left me confused, bitter and empty. I was unsure of what I should be feeling because no other game has ever had such a non linear emotional experience. The saddest part happens every morning when I wake up and my heart aches because it's all over. 10/10.

This game is absolutely masterpiece, people just hated the game once they saw Joel died, but in fact this game is one of the best games ever made in gaming Industry, story telling is just amazing, how the developers got Abby (who killed Joel for vengeance) is just so damn smart.
The way they connected the characters is so freakin smart and clever, they showed why Abby killed Joel and how Ellie wanted to kill her but after all, in my opinion the ending still sad, but they showed a possibility of a part3 which I’m really looking forward to, I don’t even know why this game had so much hate, I guess ND were right when they said “this game is not for everyone”

I've had some time to finally digest the events of the highly anticipated sequel to The Last of Us. The Last of Us Part II is a difficult game, not necessarily in gameplay, but emotionally and mentally. I honestly think it's necessary to give the game time to ruminate and allow your feelings and thoughts to clear. The Last of Us Part II is a difficult game, not necessarily in gameplay, but emotionally and mentally. It can be a miserable emotional experience, but this is used to challenge what storytelling in video games should be about. Fans of film and literature have had generations to develop their stories to be challenging, and not always 'fun' while games are still attempting to evolve the storytelling in the medium, and Naughty Dog is one of the leaders of that.

Naughty Dog could have easily made a Joel and Ellie adventure, and granted, everyone would have been happy with it, but it would fail to push the narrative effectively. While Joel doesn't have a lot of time within the story itself, make no mistake, the game is still about the relationship about Joel and Ellie. The game is also working to challenge typical structure and perspective typically found within video games. My hope is when this game is given a second look through the online community, it's treated a positive and necessary part of the development of narrative focused games, and I do believe history will be kinder on the game than the present.

So, off my soap box now, let's talk about the technicals.

    Voice Acting:
Ashley Johnson killed it. I remember in 2013 when Troy Baker was going off with the first part and also Bioshock: Infinite, but Ashley's performance, especially near the end was so heart breaking and real. Everyone did a fantastic job, but I doubt anyone can beat Johnson for best of the year.

    Music:
Similar music to the first game, but adding in some Quayle was a very nice tough and his touch did not go unnoticed.

    Gameplay:
I think it's fair to say that gameplay was probably the criticized aspect of the original game. It was pretty basic, but it was polished and well done, and was sort of 'good enough.' For Part II, I really enjoyed the additional elements. The AI is no longer goofy, and is much more dynamic. The addition of dogs to track you, mixing in infected and human enemies was a great holdover from Left Behind. Ellie is also much more agile than Joel, meaning that she can use her environment to her advantage, including going prone, jumping on structures, and moving between broken walls. This allows each encounter to feel unique to on another and for experimentation. I definitely feel Part II is much stronger with gameplay elements than the original game.

Overall, The Last of Us is about challenge. Not just with the gameplay, but with the emotional and mental aspects. What you believe should happen is seldom going to happen. These stories are about the characters, their trauma, and how they deal with them. There's never anything easy about that. Because of this, and in spite of my perfect score, it's not a game I would recommend every single person. There's a headspace you have to be ready to be a part of, and if you want a fun experience in a post-apocalyptic world, well you're only going to get half of that. And for some, that's going to be a problem. Some people want escapism and fun for their games, but for those who want to be challenged narratively and experience some tough themes, I highly recommend to ignore the hate and give it a shot for yourself, you might be very surprised.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To the people genuinely looking for a real review of the game, please don't take the people who leave 0/10 reviews seriously, they most likely didn't play the game and probably just watched someones play through on YouTube, and so they didn't get the same experience as someone who played it themselves.

Now for my review. Story Wise: The game was good, some parts were dreadful to play. But the story was great and I feel like if the ending made you feel some type of way then I think it did its job. I felt empty and lonely as the end of the game. Don't you think Ellie felt the same way? She's probably asking herself the same thing we asked ourselves, "now what?". The same people saying the game is trash are probably the same people who think Call Of Duty campaigns are master pieces where main character ends up fighting the main villain and crawling towards a weapon and flying away in a helicopter. This game is the truth. You didn't get the happily ever after. This is a tragic hero story, where the main character doesn't win. Not all people die a heros death. Just like Jesse was killed with no thought, it was the same way we killed Abbys dad, without a any thought, to Abby Jesse was just an NPC, he's not important.

    What the game did wrong:
1.)Owen, mans was so boring to me he was just some average guy, his voice was monotone and his dialogue was pretty dry.
2.) I feel a lot of people felt the same way, when Abby pulled up to the theater with her gun drawn at Ellie and there was mad suspense in the air only to cut 4 years ago and have us playing as Abby. They made it super obvious what they were doing and a lot of people noticed it too and that got me tight, they were trying to make us feel sorry for Abby or look at it from her shoes, but to be honest they placed that part of the game at a point where nobody cares about Abbys sad back story. It wouldn't have been a problem had they probably done that flashback earlier in the game. Also they dragged Abbys part of the game way too long it killed the suspense and it didn't make me want to play more, I sometime felt like rushing through the encounters or getting off because I really didn't care about Abby. However... over time even though I know that's what they were trying to do.. I did begin to sort of kind of like Abby. BUT Fighting Ellie as Abby was torture!!! I really though I was going to kill Ellie but that was fun and brought back the suspense.
3.) I got tired of Seattle and I didn't like how we kept going to the same places back and forth even though story wise it made sense. I guess I really just liked the idea of how much we got to travel in the Last Of Us Part 1, and the different weather and seasons.

    What the game did right:
1.) Enemies. Big improvement from the first game, 3 new infected types, Stalkers, Shamblers, and the Rat King. Stalkers were my favorite infected type, they had me scared to go through a door, or turn my back, especially when I can hear them running and crawling around with my headphones on and lights turned off. Shamblers were annoying but they changed up the dynamic so they were welcomed. The Rat King, was just so appealing and terrifying to look at, it makes me wonder how many other unique infected are out there in the world. They also added Hefty humans in the game that took more damage those were cool I guess.

2.Combat. Hand to hand combat was my favorite part of the game, I loved how fluid the dodging was and cocking my fist back and knocking a runner out. THE EXPLOSIVES SO SATISFYING. I loved how the enemies would just disintegrate and turn to pink mist when blown up instead of just rag dolling a full body in the air as if they were jumping on a trampoline. I loved how if you shot a clicker with a shotgun in its legs they would become handicapped and you could easily shoot them in head. Same goes for most enemies if you shoot at their arms, legs, or head, chunks or entire limbs would get blown off.

    3. Graphics/Art , Level design . Of course beautiful, some of the most aesthetically pleasing parts in the game were in Jackson I loved the snow and lodges, and Eugenes secret weed farm, and when there was a massive horde chasing us. The Sky Bridge very atmospheric and creative. The island when the whole place was up in flames it really felt chaotic. Ellies Farm I loved how tranquil it felt despite the sadness and anger that dwelled in Ellies head. Santa Barbra, just cause it felt like a whole new game and the filter was vivd and warm compared to Seattles grey filter. I loved how Ellie was about it, she had the bloody white tank top on, she was coming to play no games, especially the cutscene when she encounters the rattlers and she messes both of them up, and she's holding the SMG looking badass. The ending where theirs nothing but fog and water... beautiful really felt like the edge of the world, fitting for the final fight.

This is a story about people, actions and consequences.
Revenge and forgiveness are the cores of this game, and it delivers a strong message of how expensive the cost for vengeance is.
Not only this, but also the fact that in the end nothing will change what happened in the past.

So yes, with the proper distancing, I learned to admire this masterpiece.

Sure, it would've been nice to see Joel dying later in the game? Yes

It would've been nice to have Joel alive with Ellie? Yes

But this game is a accurate view of how complex life is, and how hurtful, cruel, and savage humanity could get in extreme situations.

No plot shield for protagonists, because this is not a game about a main character. It's about perspectives and the two sides of a conflict.

Obs: they made the game too long, but that doesn't kill the experience.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is undoubtedly one of the most polarizing games ever. It also happens to be one the best games I have ever played.

Why there's such a huge disparity between the user and critic reviews doesn't surprise me at all -- people are reactionary. Once word got out that one of the most celebrated video game protagonists of all time was killed in such brutal fashion AND players were expected play as his killer, the game was irredeemable. Ellie's sexuality and Abby's masculine figure were just the cherry on top of a clear dumpster fire.

It just so happens that all of those disjointed elements came together to form a masterpiece.

Naughty Dog decided that a cliched storyline would be too simple -- so they decided to go against the grain and create one of the most f*cked up video game stories I've ever experienced.. and I'm glad they did. I remember watching Abby impale Joel's skull numerous times before finally putting him out of his misery right in front of Ellie. In that moment, I hated Abby just as much as you could anyone. She definitely felt "irredeemable" at that moment in time.

Through phenomenal character development and plot direction, we somehow eventually come to empathize with Abby. We don't necessarily forgive her for murdering Joel, but we do understand why she did it and at least try to work past it. It takes Ellie murdering all of Abby's close friends and acquaintances to arrive to a similar judgement. Near the end, in Ellie's gritty encounter with Abby at the beach, we don't want either character to die. By that point, they've both been robbed of (almost) everything they had, and revenge was nothing more than a moot point.

I quite enjoyed the ending as well. It isn't a happy ending, but it's one that gives gravity to all of the choices made throughout the game. The overwhelming feeling is "emptiness", but Naughty Dog has left a lot to our own imagination, along with a strong possibility for a third game.

In the end, the parts of the game that linger with me are:

Outstanding graphics - beautiful scenery, stellar facial animations
Top-notch voice acting - as expected with Naughty Dog
Amazing score - especially in regards to the acoustics
Impactful story - it's emotional, brutal, and raw, blurs the line between gaming and movies
Gameplay - major improvement from the first, really intelligent enemy AI and fun stealth/gunplay

At the end of the day, The Last of Us 2 has a leg up on its predecessor and is in my Top 10 of this generation's games. It's one of my favorite cinematic games, up there with Uncharted 4, but factoring in the graphics, story, and gameplay, it's absolutely a must-play for anyone. 10/10

The story. The first half of the game is great. You have your mission as Ellie and you really feel what she feels. Then you get to the second part and if you are like me, you want to just throw the game out. But it was during that second half when I started to question myself, whether it is even worth to get our revenge with Ellie. And you realize, that this is what they were going for. To make you ask yourself, whether it is worth. The last mission was perfect for this. You really are in the position, where you are not sure, whether you are doing the right thing. The ending perfectly summarize all of yours and Ellie's feelings. It is not what we hoped for, but I think it is so much more. Every fan of the 1st game should give this a chance and to sit through it till the end. No matter the leaks, the flaws, or that you are not satisfied that Ellie did what she did in the end. I think it delivered bigger story than this generation of gamers can really appreciate by looking at the reviews. I know people have different opinions and that's fine. But we should try to look for the deeper meaning in the story, than just a dull revenge. We've seen this kind of story so many times. Naughty Dogs made something, that we were just not ready for and I love it. I don't regret a single minute spent with this game and I can't wait to play it again.

For those of you who saw the leaks or stopped playing the game after the golf scene and think this game is **** Everyone loved Joel from the 1st game. Watching him die was a punch in the face. But it was not unexpected. At the end of the 1st game we killed the Fireflies. A group that was trying to save the world. That was a very bad move for Joel, even if it meant saving Ellie. So you could have guessed he will have enemies that are trying to get a revenge for that. When you watch Joel die, you feel the same thing as Ellie. You just thing it's **** and you want to kill them for it. But try to sit through it. I knew about the leaks, but I honestly didn't care. I knew they had their reasons for it and that it will be worth it. It was. Just don't play it like "This game is ****". Give it a chance and you may find yourself being grateful for doing so. If you still think it's ****, I don't blame you and I respect it.

There’s something in the storytelling here that really can only happen in an immersive medium like a videogame. Organic character connections developed through action and cumulative small moments, and a feeling of conflicting empathies and emotions when you’re not in alignment with the character, and when the game makes you do something that you don’t want to do. You wrestle with choices in this game in a very different way than you would in a passive medium. It's a violent game, but it's also about empathy, and about breaking the cycle of violence. It's a game that asks a lot of the player, and that's so cool to see.

I finished the game yesterday. The game is EPIC. The best game for this year. Unique music, you can only understand the plot and all the feelings that you have only AFTER you finish the game and not before. The change of hearts for the two characters is amazing. Thank you Naughty Dog for this amazing game and for the time that i spent to finish it.

The Last of Us Part II is an impressive, deeply moving experience. It is not an easy shot at a sequel, it is not a repeat of the first game, it is not fan service and for that, it deserves praise. It's bold and doesn't take the easy route. It takes elements from the first game, and builds upon them, having the first one's events directly impact the second one's. It takes elements from the first game, and builds upon them, having the first one's events directly impact the second one's. That's good story telling. It shows consistency, as well as being realistic about characters having grown after an ellipse of four years. As a player, it makes you feel about your actions in a way I just haven't seen before.
Aside from the story, it's gorgeous, the score is incredible and the acting is mind blowing, as well as having really good and diverse gameplay. Even if you don't like the story, it's a great game that deserves a lot more than a 0, and all these reviews only prove that people are rating it with their emotions. Scoring it 0, even while acknowledging the undeniable beauty of it, is being completely biased. Only real critic from me is the pacing, it's a bit long and puts on the breaks a bit too hard in the middle, but i'd say it's still worth it in the end.
Also, I am very glad for the representation of minorities and well-written women in this game, not just as support characters but as the main character.
I'll just conclude by saying that at the very least, it validates video games as an art form, capable of compelling story telling, really beautiful visuals and insanely good acting. Whether you like the story or not is an opinion, not a reflection of whether the game is good or bad.

Gameplay has been improved significantly over the first game, with jumping and going prone being added which, even though they seem small, make the game feel so much better. Enemies are incredibly lifelike and fighting humans is really fun, although there are some annoying sections that feel like filler with random infected, there are some key moments with the infected that are well executed and they are some of the most memorable encounters. Scrambling around for parts is also a pain, and takes you out of the flow of the game frequently.

The worst part of the game for me was the pacing and the story jumping around. You will play as multiple characters and the transition between them is jarring and not very satisfying. I kept trying to plow through certain content just to get back to the characters I was invested in. Some of the back and forts are outright frustrating.

As for the story, there are some legitimate complaints here. I found some characters to be unlikable and some arcs to be a bit out of place in the universe, but overall its nothing too jarring and I think the story ends up being a pretty satisfying ride that reaches very high highs at times.

TLOU2 is a hard game to play. I ‘m not talking survivor difficulty here. It feels like naughty dogs purpose is to make the player feel. In TLOU the dominant emotions were (fatherly) love, attachment and fear. And It appealed to many if not all. This time around, the main emotions you will experience are hate, anger, disgust and desperation.

No wonder some (many) players have had mixed feelings to put it mildly about this game. This sole fact demonstrates that the game hit right we’re it was aiming.
So yes, the game is beautiful, DA is splendid (kudo to the soundtrack), the acting is without a doubt the best seen in any game so far, the gameplay (e.g. combat) has been notably improved since Part I and the storytelling remains strong.
There are also some lengthy parts and several repetitive mechanics that might bother you sometimes. Not all characters are as charismatics as you d hope, but again, neither are we...
In addition the game (elegantly) tackles sensitive societal topics that will drive some people back, and makes you wonder.
I was left in awe several times, and at the end, of course. I felt like I have never been closer to play an (exceptional) movie.
In short, the last of us Part II hit right in the feels. Are you willing to handle it, that for you to answer. Will you enjoy it, or be glad you went on this journey, only playing it will tell.
In terms of video game experience, TLOU2 will share with FFVII, OoT, MGS, HL2, TLOU1, MGSV, BotW the mighty shelf of titles that made video games and players grow.

If you dont get why Abby did the what she did, and the same for Ellie, you probably fit in the category of people who thinks Joel is a hero and Abby is the bad guy.
There are no good guys at all, people die for nothing, people seek for vengeance, they only try to protect their own and those who they love.
So, this is a game for mature people, definitely. The violence is extremely graphic, the tension around is always high and I love how the game shows us a different perspective from the first game.
It is heartbreaking watching the conversation between Ellie and Joel the night before he died.
The same way it is heartbreaking to see that killing Joel only brought more killing to Abbys life.
This is the The Last of Us Part II goal: show you how things can look different, depending on which side you are, depending on what you believe, depending on what made you since the apocalypse began.
The goal is to be heartbreaking, in every way, for everyone. Because this is the world of The Last of Us.
And I dont even need to start to talk about graphics, sound effects, fights, cities, the whole thing.
I have waited 7 eyers for this game and it was worth it.
It is amazing to see how a company like Naughty Dog can take storylines and the whole videogame experience to places that most entertainement products could never achieve.
Praying for The Last of Us Part III to the next generation of consoles. Or anything from Naughty Dog, the do not fail.

The non-linear telling of this story wasn't really the most instinctive way to go with it,but after digesting it and collect the pieces I felt it really is a poignant story albeit a punishing and soul crushing one

Love the way they took a risk on the storyline. I understand the controversy behind it, but in my opinion that’s what makes this game so incredible.
