This game accomplished incredible achievements with narrative and the exploration of revenge, grief and the futility of our anger. I was so impressed with the artistic experience and also how I felt the emotions of the characters I played. The comparative nature of playing a beloved character and then the enemy was harrowing but absolutely worthwhile and a unique experience.… Expand

    Unlike most die hard fans of the first game here. I went in with an opened mind. I actually really enjoyed the game. Do I wish the ending was different? Of course I do but I don’t think that the game deserves this kind of bashing from fans. At the end of the day it is just a game, they told their story.     I still remember the first game vividly. This one I will also remember most of my life due to the gut wrenching quality of storytelling as well as the unexpected and original points to this powerful story. It broaches many taboo subjects and is able to make you feel the seriousness of the violence you have to do in order to survive.     without a doubt the video game candidate of the year. I loved the story, its development and the result. Totally recommended if you played the first one. It was totally worth the wait and I'm satisfied with The Last of Us 2

    Antes de dar mi opinión, quiero aclarar que este juego es muy bueno pero que no sobrepasa al primer juego ni mis expectativas.

I understand that people may not like it for some obvious reasons but i do not think this game deserves less than 6 points. The storytelling is amazing, we all get mad when a main character dies, but not just for that is a bad game (or movie, book, whatever). Is not the perfect game, the first one is a mile away better but this part 2 is a closure of a beautiful story which is not about revenge, is about forgiveness and care. We think Ellie lost everything, but that´s not true, when she spares Abby’s life she saw Joel, watching her, she remembered all they spent together and that´s not what Joel wanted for her... The night before Joel dies, she told him she wanted to forgive him, so forgiving Abby was kinda her redemption for all she had done (kill Abby’s friends) and that pardon for Joel. Again, is not the perfect game, but it deserves a 10/10 because is the end (maybe?) of one of the top 3 games in the century.… Expand

    Great game, receiving a lot of unfair criticism due to how progressive the game is and some risky (yet courageous) plot direction. Aside from the plot I think it would be hard for anybody to argue with the fact that the gameplay is exceptional and the graphics are very polished. Yes the plot may not go in the direction you want, but it is very well told and also very well thought out.     This is an amazing game with great storytelling and detailed, realistic characters. It doesn't pull any punches, just like the original, and weaves a compelling and heart-wrenching narrative.

    This game is fantastic simple as that.
    The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is perfect you can feel the way that the NPCs, the story is fantastic in the end you have a reflection of whats the meaning of revenge and what is good or wrong.
    The new characters have his own personality and ways to do things.

This is one, or perhaps the best looking game this generation. There is a pacing issue but is negligble. I liked the tense filled gameplay and animation though. People should embrace change more. Naughty dog could have played it safe with the same character dynamics as part 1, and perhaps continue with Ellie knowing Joel's lie, embark into a new journey and get closer to a cure. But no, the director has the balls to challenge our expectations, which I highly appreciate. Overall, I think the wait for the experience is worth it. It trancends games into movie like storytelling. I hope gamers wont be turned off by its bleak story because I think its an artistic choice and part 3 would be the catharsis on Ellie's character.… Expand

Others dislike this game, and personally I can't wrap my head around it, because not a single person I've spoke to can give me a valid reason why they don't like it.     People saying there are plot holes haven't even identified a plot hole, it confuses me, and I'm really wanting to hear some valid points without being verbally abused for enjoying something. Just because a game doesn't end with sunshine and rainbows, doesn't make it a **** show of a game. Its not dark for the sake of being dark, its a generally realistic story considering the characters and direction the first game took. It doesn't ruin the first game at all, and the characters are actually true to themselves, people thinking they know the characters better than the writers is kind of absurd. Not to mention the death threats being sent to people at Naughty Dog.

    The graphics, animation, sound and music are some of the best I've seen run on a PS4, and you can tell how much effort was into the game.
    The story tells a tale that is brutal, unpredictable and emotional, the only thing i can really say is to definitely play the game before having an opinion.    … Expand

    Amazing game. It's the generation of self entitlement that review bomb games for not getting the story they think they deserve. The story is Naughty Dogs to do whatever they want with and for us to experience. Play the first one and then this, you will NOT regret it for a second.

    It may seem kinda forced to give anything a 10/10, but, in my opinion, i really can't think of any flaws that this game has. This just my opinion in the moment, it may change with time, but, until now, I've never felt such a great connection with fictional characters and their stories. Congratulations to everybody on the Naughty Dog team!

    Unpopular opinion: by the end, Abby's character was *better* than both Joel and Ellie. At least she was attempting to redeem herself despite her rage...

    If half the gamers review bombing this game were a bit more 'Abby' they'd be able to move up out of thier mothers' basements and facilitate a half decent discussion about the game.

    As TLOU was the best game of its generation, TLOU2 is the best game of this generation, it sets an even higher bar in storytelling, amazing combat mechanics, breathtaking world, it is a masterpiece and for years to come will set a new standard in game excellence

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. ok so ik i'm a little late on this one but all of you giving this game a **** review prob didn't even play the game give me a break the game is over 30 hours long and all you guys say oh this game sucks naughty dog screwed up, on the **** day it was released, i liked the last of us 2 while it's not a 10/10 the story was actually good people just got all LBGTQ and why is there sex scene's who gives a **** if they made ellie gay, who gives a **** if abby got plowed in the ass, gameplay and grapics where awesome in my opinion, not only that tho the story was dark cuz you know it's a post apocalypses world it was great and exiting yeah a bunch of main characters were killed but think about that **** in real life come on people, and not only that, the game wasn't even out for 24 hours before you butt hurt little babies started **** talking it, yeah sure they could have done better but for **** sake half you people **** talking it hadn't even played through it yet, it was a review bomb and you can't go off what butt hurt little **** say about the game after only a couple hours put into it just saying it wasn't as bad as all you cry babies were saying it was, if you want people to take your reviews seriously don't **** talk a game the day it was released and only 10 min put into the game… Expand

    Em geral o game é bom, os gráficos são os melhores da geração, gameplay única, expressões faciais incriveis, o que me decepcionou foi o final da história por isso eu não dei a nota 10, mas eu recomendo o jogo pela experiência de gameplay que é simplismente íncrivel. He had softened a little with his new source of hope in his world (Ellie) and their relatively comfortable lifestyle. Abby is a young girl, like Ellie, like Sarah. He let his guard down for a moment because his choices were to trust this young girl (Abby) or deal with a hoard of infected in a blizzard, hours away from home. This game just doesn't taste right to some of you, and I get that, but the storytelling is strong. In my eyes, the game really is a masterpiece all around.… Expand

    This game is beautifull, the lighting, the graphics are really good. The story may seem a bit different, and wil probably shock you. The story shows how awfull it can be to lose someone, and how revenge is not the best way to lose those feelings. It is a really good game, no doubt.

    Not going to appeal to those who want a 2 dimensional story. This is supposed to make you think, and process through emotions. That's what the creators set out to do, and they were successful.

    Graphics, acting, sound design are all on point.

    Let me first start with this. I actually enjoyed playing TLOU2. It was a great experience and I loved seeing the new game mechanics, characters and infected that were implemented.

    [STORY]

    I think it's safe to say that a few things should've been different. Even though the story is beautiful, it has its flaws.

    This is how it should have been in my opinion:

    You start the game as Abby, making her way to Jackson. Without the player know why their going there, they come across obstacles and other survives. You get to play the flashbacks of her father and everything.
    Slowly along the way you get to hints to why you are going to Jackson.

    Then, you find Joel and Tommy and make your way to the villa. And the cut-scene starts. Maybe ending at: Abby: That's 'cause they have

    Following this you start to play as Ellie in Jackson, doing the patrol and eventually ending up at the villa. Here you see Joel's death.

    From here on out the game is like it is now, you go on the hunt for Abby.

    [ENDING]

    I'm not sure how I feel about the ending of the game. Its good that Ellie realizes what she is doing, but it doesn't make sense that she does after killing hundreds of people.

    And its a good ending in a way, but it is extremely sad to see Ellie in the end with nothing left.

    So in a way i agree with the ending and I also don't.

    [CHARACTERS]

    I've seen a few reviews about people being mad that the game has been made about #MeToo and feminism.
    I don't mind the orientation or anything about the characters. But having all main characters female and have a strong characteristic: Gay, Transgender, Hulk. makes it feel kind of forced in my opinion.
    I feel like the characters would have been better with Abby being more realistic, more like Tess...
    This would have made a difference in other people's opinions I think.

    Just a little thing about the music. The music is good, but the music of the first game was waaaay better.

    [CONCLUSION]

    As you can probably tell by my review, I feel like the story and characters could have been better.

    BUT... I do think Naughty Dog made an amazing game. I think that they achieved something, just look at the emotional reactions everyone is giving.

    So again the story is good, because its very emotional. But it should have been different
    The characters are okay, but could have been different.
    And game play wise, it was amazing. Loved the level design and enemies.

    Game features the views of two very strong characters (with strong contexts), it will often make you question the character's attitude (even though the game does not give you choices to change).
    The many things that are thrown in our face and make us hate / anger but then we think better and see that the world (both in the game and in real life) is not easy, that choices are made that cost us much more than the expected / desired.
    An epic and very exciting ending, a strong striking story and it will certainly be a game remembered for a long time.

Искусственный интеллект стал значительно лучше и теперь ощущается, что ты убиваешь именно живых людей, а не ботов. За сюжет говорить смысла нет, ибо это будут спойлеры, просто скажу, что он не отстает от первой части. После прохождения игра заставляетИгра прекрасна, начиная музыкальным сопровождением и заканчивая сюжетом. Геймплей идеальный, динамичный, что аж мурашки по коже. Искусственный интеллект стал значительно лучше и теперь ощущается, что ты убиваешь именно живых людей, а не ботов. За сюжет говорить смысла нет, ибо это будут спойлеры, просто скажу, что он не отстает от первой части. После прохождения игра заставляет переосмыслить многие вещи в реальной жизни. Остается некая пустота на душе.

    The Last of Us was my fave game ever but Part II is even better.

    This game really toyed with peoples’ emotions and the twists and turns in the storyline really helped that success while delivering great messages on revenges, heroes and villains.

    Sure it’s an R18+ game at a minimum. But you need a mature mind and to be fully emotionally developed in order to truly enjoy this work of art for what it is. An incredible story to play through.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is one that really comes for you and it comes for you hard. Let me first start off with the great. Visuals, soundtrack, lore, tactics and the ever changing mission and level even though must of the game is set in the same place are all on point and above expectations.

    I knock off a half point because of some minor technical issues with the initial release that seem to have been corrected upon a few patches. Nothing major just some slight shifts in lighting that briefly pull you out of the experience and some random hit box type issue with the environment.

    But let's be honest here. We're all here for the story of this game. This game loses a half point here for me due to unfortunate circumstances that this game is not only incredibly bleak but it comes as one of the bleakest times in the world around me and in my own life. I found myself struggling emotionally and had to step away from the game after a couple hours to just decompress.

    I love the dual narrative aspect of the game, re-living the same points in time from two different perspectives. I love how the two main protagonists share that same duality in their respective missions and how we get a different taste of the first game.

    Now, I think a lot of people dislike this store for reasons that well are silly and therefore shouldn't be taken seriously. However there are valid criticisms of the story. I do see this as a logical step for the characters but I don't know that it's necessary, again due to the bleak times. We see Ellie loose everything and then some. We see beloved characters killed for no good reason. We see people broken by revenge and how it takes everything from them.

    What we're left with is an engaging, hard hitting story involving north of two dozen lives and are confronted with what happens when we don't let things go that we should. When we have everything we want out of life, except that one thing, and we give up the rest of our world for it.

    I think this game is a great commentary on loss, revenge, found family, friendship and ultimately sacrifice. If only serenity could be granted to some, all would have been better off for it.    … Expand

    Don't listen to any leaks and try not to base opinions on them if you have read them. Context is so important.

    This is one of the, if not the best game I've ever played. My wife and I loved it and I will definitely be doing more playthroughs I'm the future.

    The Last Of Us Part II has an awesome story, 'cause it doesn't show only Ellie side, but Abby side too and I was angry with Abby until the game show us her side. I can't call Ellie a villain, I think she were really angry and I'd look like this. Simply, I loved this game, buy it.

I have just finished the the last of us part 2 and after playing 25+ hours finding all the stories and notes and everything there is in the game I have come to the conclusion that this is the best game that has ever been made both in gameplay and in story this game made me cry more times than I can count and honestly showed how dark and gloomy this world is and where the main focus is surviving at all costs. I wish that Joel didn’t die but I see why this had to happen because Ellie’s story would have been completely different if it was tommy or anyone else Ellie loved Joel and you could see that all the way through but like teenagers do they don’t like to show emotions to look weak and that honestly is a unbelievable detail but Ellie wasn’t going to stop no matter what to avenge Joel but she realised at the end that she went too far killing all those people for one person. I think that the ending was perfect because by the end of the story I didn’t want to fight Abby at all because she was just doing anything to survive and she nearly died so many times by the end she doesn’t even care about dying.

    I think Abby is one of the greatest characters ever to be in a video game and yes I **** hated her for killing Joel and I was thinking about not even playing the game when I saw the leaks but by the end of the game my whole opinion on Abby changed and that’s because she finally saw that what she did was wrong and seeing the people around her die she saw that she wasn’t doing the right thing anymore and Lev was such a huge part of that when her mum dies Abby becomes like a surrogate mother like Joel becomes a surrogate farther in the original and would do anything to protect her from dying she sees what the wolf’s are doing is wrong and that the scars are just defending themselves from what the wolves caused and that’s amazing. Abby went through hell in this game more than Ellie I mean that monster infected thing OMG didn’t I **** myself that was crazy but I honestly started to see her side of the perspective she was doing what Joel was doing for he met Ellie and Abby did the same before she met lev.

    I honestly think the ending isn’t a sad one like everyone is saying I think it’s a passing of the hatred and pain that has caused Ellie to want to kill abby and her friends at all costs and passing of the hate towards Joel like in the epilogue it shows that they were going to get better and go on more adventures and I just wish Joel said one line and that would be the following when walks off “Ellie I love you and you know when I said that you aren’t my daughter in that cabin you are to my daughter that’s why I did what I did”

    I think the flashbacks are also unbelievably cute and amazing the dinosaurs and space scenes literally made me feel like a kid and honestly I smiled like crazy and the game definitely needed those breaks because there needed to be some hope which most of the game there wasn’t

    I loved all the characters especially Dina lev Abby and Ellie they were my favourites and of course my man Joel who will be forever alive to me.

    I think this game is miles better than the original the art work graphics gameplay animations everything is absolutely the best a PS4 can offer I suggest anyone that hasn’t played the game and is putting bad reviews play the game through and let yourself be moved into the world.

    Honestly this game has to be game of the year and nearly game of the century absolutely stunning and a masterpiece loved every second of it 10/10    … Expand

    Best PS4 game (GoW4 and rdr2 far far behind). Fantastic gameplay and graphism, great story and for once it's not "good" vs "bad". Feels fresh and I clearly dont know why people are so upset about it

    If you liked the first one you’ll love this. Better in every way! Don’t listen to the haters, I doubt they’ve even played the game. I’ve played it through twice now and loved it. It’s a bit on the long side, but it mixes up the action and story really well so doesn’t get boring. It’s slow at the beginning, but once it gets going it’s amazing.

Gameplay is improved upon from the first game but doesn’t blow me away as game changing. The infected AI makes them more annoying than scary or interesting puzzles at the very least. Gameplay and environment was beautiful and compelling. After the finishing the game, I had an epiphany about the whole story and my experience about it: I went about it in such a close-mined way, that I had to replay it again. From my first play through, I already knew that there were many layers in the story that are so reflective and relatable. This chaotic world demonstrates the usual elements of hate, love, acceptance, revenge, and forgiveness. What they did with all of this was special. Sure, this is a post-apocalyptic world, but to a certain point we should expect people, especially loved-ones to die-be it by a reasonable or nonsensical chain of events. Its life...and I believe they tried to make this as realistic as possible. So RARELY do we in real life truly accept and practice "walk in their shoes." Wether we liked it or not, we also ventured into this world in Abby's footsteps (as excruciating as it was because of what she did). I felt so deeply conflicted as both Ellie's and Abby's worlds collided, because I came to understand their actions. Not only that, the music and incorporation of Joel's and Ellie's bond over the guitar added such a haunting, riveting, and beautiful touch, and what that came to symbolize throughout the story-it was impactful! Also, anyone else think the controller's directional pad was cleverly used in this game for the guitar?? Through such a dark world and truly understanding the characters, who is REALLY at fault? Joel, Ellie, or Abby? Its quite interesting that Joel's love for Ellie created such a dark domino effect. How often is love misinterpreted that later makes us reflect, understand, forgive, and accept love's true intentions before it is too late or have lasting consequences. I believe we saw all of this as everything that I mentioned was simply just a generalization of what this game has to offer.     That being said here is my opinion for this game:

    - Graphics 10/10 - Visuals are better than anything I've ever seen on PC or console by far, and I'm 40 years, played all that is worth playing; Textures, landscapes, weather, lighting, facial animations, all details carefully and accurately done, at times it feels like it was filmed, it is very photo-realistic, especially if you play on OLED or other high-end TV. This is clearly a Naughty Dog title, the amount of work that has gone in defining every element is visible and can be appreciated by completionists like me.

    Atmosphere 10/10 - the tension created by the audio-visual experience, the soundtrack and the very well executed horror element create the best atmosphere I ever saw in a survival-horror game. Infected look amazing and AI is very good especially for human enemies, creating all kind of surprising and high tension situations. The combat mechanics also help a lot to build the scenes, very well made movements and collisions.

    Level design 10/10 - As in every other ND title, the level design is beyond words...maps, verticality in some cases, landscape elements, various weather combine to offer a great setting and very unique survival-combat situations. Also enemy AI and difficulty progresses with game advancement which is very rewarding.

    Gameplay 9/10 - Very fluid combat and movement mechanics are very well suited for PS4 controller and make the combat, riding, driving a very fun and easy experience. Aiming is a little tricky but if you adapt to the controller it will work just fine. Only minor drawbacks are the skill tree that makes you go through all the less necessary skills to achieve the useful ones and some pre-defined scenes where you can't win or do something else because it needs to end in some certain way that makes the cut-scene/story progress and the occasional very minor bugs, nothing major.

    Story 8/10 - I understand that everyone hates the story because it makes you play with the opposing side but that is the same concept that TV series LOST did which can be very nice if you accept it. Story telling is specific to ND, very immersive and interesting with a lot of tensed moments and funny ones, character development is on par with previous ND games with very nice dialogue and engaging situations, letters found through the post-apocalyptic world, factions, etc. I honestly liked the story and found it very immersive, always was curious what was going to happen next. There are indeed a few bad decisions made by the main characters which do not represent or define them but it no way can this be considered complete character assassination, every game/movie has flaws in writing. If you enjoy LOST kind of perspective then you will like the story overall.

    Final verdict: 9.5 - Do not listen to all the hate and controversy, don't spoil the content/story, just play the game, don't expect anything specific and if you liked LOST TV series approach and Last of Us 1, you will definitely like this game. I played Last of Us 1 and then immediately Last of us 2 in a 4 weeks marathon and it has been a top 5 experience of my 40 years life as a gamer. Vote the game and its elements, do not bash the game to hurt the studio or Sony, it is a shame that such a masterpiece is ruined in reviews by all the media scandal.    … Expand

    What an emotionel rollercouster.. Took some time thinking and evaluating the game, characters, story and more.. All in all a masterpiece! 10/10!
    BUT its not perfect. There is still room for implovement for part 3..

    El juego me hizo sentir muchas emociones a nivel de narrativa, una de las cosas que hay que entender es que en la vida todo lo que uno haga tiene una respuesta y repercute de una manera u otra en la vida de los demás, el caso de la historia de este juego no es la excepción y al parecer en el mundo de TLOU las cosas que uno hace repercuten aun mas, todo lo que sucede en el juego tiene unEl juego me hizo sentir muchas emociones a nivel de narrativa, una de las cosas que hay que entender es que en la vida todo lo que uno haga tiene una respuesta y repercute de una manera u otra en la vida de los demás, el caso de la historia de este juego no es la excepción y al parecer en el mundo de TLOU las cosas que uno hace repercuten aun mas, todo lo que sucede en el juego tiene un buen motivo para que así sea y entiendo que a las personas que no comprenden esto el juego les desagrade, ya que los saca de su zona de confort, de que todo tiene que ser bonito y sentimientos gratificantes, lo que quiero decir es que también se puede disfrutar de los sentimientos de melancolía o desolación y creo que es lo que pretendía transmitir Niel, si bien no es la mejor historia que he visto, el juego en general es buenísimo y al igual que en el primero, logro engancharme mas de lo que yo creía.

    Dentro de las criticas negativas, veo a muchos que hablan sobre lo que le sucede a Joel y como eso arruino el juego o sobre la introducción forzada de Abby, pero nadie hablando sobre lo mal que estaba la relación entre Joel y Ellie y que si no fuera por lo que sucede probablemente no se hubiera arreglado.
    En fin, hay muchas opiniones sobre la historia y obviamente hay que respetarlas, pero me parece que en la comunidad hay muchos que no saben valorar lo que es el enorme talento de los trabajadores y la inmensa profundidad del juego, mas allá de si el juego sea ambicioso o no, el gameplay y los gráficos son de los mejores que he visto la banda sonora no es de sorprender que también los sea, en general el juego final esta muy logrado y eso es algo que no se debe pasar por alto.

    gameplay 10/10 the gameplay is amazing.
    graphics 10/10 just the best graphics of ps4.
    Abby and Ellie are amazing characters, the game is an incredible experience, of course, one of the best representations of what human beings would look like in an apocalypse, where people really just want to survive.    … Expand

    The Story gave me very interesting feelings at times, that I never got in any game before.
    Visually the game is incredible. The Gameplay is very solid.

    Amazing sequel that shows a long journey of revenge and how it can cause you to lose everything.

    On top of that, the gameplay is amazing just like the first game!

    I think the game was absolutely brilliant. The gameplay, the story (though I would’ve changed up the pacing and placement of certain story elements) and the visuals just made the game the absolute masterpiece it was. Did the game have its flaws? Yes, but what game doesn’t. This game truly made me feel for and relate to Ellie that much more. The game absolutely blew me away!

    Sem dúvidas, o melhor jogo do console até agora, consegue transmitir um misto de sentimentos ao jogador. A história muito envolvente e bastante humana, sem divisão ou proteção de protagonismo, trazendo um aspecto humano e profundamente realístico.

    This game achieves a story unlike any told in any other game. Naturally, the new and unknown has scared many who have linked their identities go limited and binary game play. If anything, the impassioned negative reception from many who never even played shows how deeply this game cut to the core.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
