    After the first Last of Us, I was expecting big things from Naughty Dog for the sequel and they delivered. I class this game as a work of art, from the phenomenal acting, to the fluid game play and storytelling. Little details, like enemies interacting with each other and sound traveling realistically, it is really impressive how much work was put into this experience.     As good as it gets. Naughty Dog has completed the story with another masterpiece. The complex themes about vengeance and retribution are compelling. The story will stay with me for a long time.

    This is a game for adults, and it tries and succeeds in making one think about complex issues. Is it ever morally justified to take a life to save others? Is vengeance ever justifiable regardless    As good as it gets. Naughty Dog has completed the story with another masterpiece. The complex themes about vengeance and retribution are compelling. The story will stay with me for a long time.

    This is a game for adults, and it tries and succeeds in making one think about complex issues. Is it ever morally justified to take a life to save others? Is vengeance ever justifiable regardless of the offence? This is an example of how good video games can be.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, I've finally finished the game. It has excellent graphics and great audio design. However, the story is not as good as the first one. As a huge fan of the original game, this one didn't quite resonate with me. I feel like the writer's attempt to make the player sympathize with Abby doesn't really work well. When I played as Abby, I could never shake off the fact that she killed one of the most beloved characters. The fact is she's a new character and the way she's introduced makes me want to hate her and nothing else. I know what she did was justified and you learn the reason and motivation for her action when you play from her perspective. We played mostly as Joel in the first game and by the time we reach the end, we bonded with the character. And when he suddenly gets killed, regardless of whether it's justified or not, you can't help but hate the killer. This is the only gripe I have for the game. Other than that, I really liked the gameplay, audio design, music and combat. This is not the best game I've ever played but it definitely doesn't deserve a 0/10.… Expand

Just finished it today after a few weeks of nipping away at the huge 30 hour gameplay, even more if you want to finish it on 100%... Not sure what all the hate is about as ive steered clear from leaks, spoilers and articles, but I'm impressed with the sheer magnitude of this game, and I'm sure you would too if you haven't been tainted already from all the vitriol and hate... Can't wait for the next installment...… Expand

    After playing The Last of Us Part II thoroughly for about 60hrs i can say this is a game without any sugarcoating whatsoever , things happen and situations are created as they should have in mist of chaos . with that being said i believe that the characters in those situations are not very likeable , in fact i personally didn't liked both the playable main characters . But that is the whole purpose of the game , to show how humans would possibly react in such hellhole of a place . The world is the real mess , which tends to create even more messedup scenarios .

    Apart from that Last of Us Part II feels true to its roots from beginning to very end , that is Hate , its a game about hatred , tension and pain which is depicted in every last bit of the game .

    This game is an absolute Showstopper . One of the best if not the best .

    Excelente jogo. Em questões gráficas e de gameplay é o que tem de melhor e mais polido no mercado hoje. Quanto à história, sei que é questão de gosto mas a mim agradou muito. Quem jogou até o fim sabe que a jornada vale a pena.

    Most likely the piece of any kind of media ever that has made me cry the most in my life. This is most likely one of the most divisive games in the history of the industry and, no doubt, it isn't for everyone. With that said, what an amazing game.     Mundo totalmente inmersivo, graficamente lo mejor que he jugado en PlayStation, muestra la belleza de la naturaleza postpandémica a un nivel de detalle increible.
    Gameplay continuista pero muy mejorado, no esperaba algo diferente, asi que para mi continuista y mejorado fue lo ideal, juegas con dos personajes (no me.parece spoiler si no algo que ND debió decirte en su marketing) en la    Mundo totalmente inmersivo, graficamente lo mejor que he jugado en PlayStation, muestra la belleza de la naturaleza postpandémica a un nivel de detalle increible.

    Al igual que su antecesor puedes elegir si irte a lo sigiloso o a lo rambo, en cualquier modo te aseguro diversión y estrés (nivel survival horror) garantizado, tiene nuevas mecánicas como esquivar en los combates c/c, arrastrarse cual solid snake, usar cuerdas para moverse
    Hablando de cuerdas, las animaciones son lo mejor que he visto en un videojuego, las cuerdas, los movimientos de los protas en los combates y las animaciones faciles, son un lujo y para nada envidian una super producción de pelicula animada.
    El gusto por la historia es subjetiva y aquí voy a poner mi arenita, No hagan caso donde lean que en este Videojuego las cosas no tienen sentido! Juéguenlo ustedes mismos, las conversaciones inGame, las notas, el diario de Ellie, si se ven solo la historia en youtube, van a apoyar este argumento, pero se pierden muchas historias y conversaciones en estas cositas donde se te explica muchas de tus dudas sobre los sucesos que vas encontrando en las cinemáticas. A mi me ha encantado la historia, me hizo llorar como nena, me hizo amar mas a los personajes, pero..

    It’s easy to see why this has become such a fan favorite along with all the high praise from the critics. TLOU2 is without a doubt one of the strongest PS4 title ever released. Brutal, honest, unforgiving and beautiful. I’m enjoying all the details along with the characters and storyline.

    This game left me speechless by the end credits. It made me laugh, made me cry and made me angry all in the span of a few minutes. A real rollercoaster ride of emotion that I have not felt since the first iteration but I feel this is even more so. I know it has received a lot of hate from fans but personally speaking I do not think those criticisms are justified.

    The gameplay is both fluid and brutal and is a huge step up from the first title. Graphically speaking it is without peer and the level of detail is out of this world amazing.

    As a game about love, hate and loss and the consequences from ones actions combined with all the technical flourishes makes this game a flawless experience. I spent 41 hours with it almost reaching Platinum and now into new game plus, so I know the game inside and out and it was just an incredible experience for me.

    I would highly recommend this if you are into brutal arthouse or grindhouse films/games. It was marketed as mainstream but it really isn't, I equate to films like 8mm or Ichi the Killer, brutal but brilliant at the same time.    … Expand

I've just finished it and I am in awe of what it must have taken to make this game. The visuals are stunning, the level design is detailed and interesting. The story is excellent and the pacing is perfect. If you liked the first game you will love this one either more.

    It is beyond insane to me that there are so many negative user reviews. All I can assume is that they are all from angry young men who's egos are butthurt by a story focusing on 2 strong women and their emotional rollercoasters.    … Expand

    Y no por el juego, que como explico más adelante me ha gustado (y mucho), si no porque no llego a comprender las circunstancias vitales de las personas que lo han bombardeado a negativos. De verdad, no comprendo nada... No entiendo como alguien con un mínimo de sentido común sea capaz de plantarle un CERO a este juego.     Fotografía, anímación, música y ambientación son sobresalientes. TÉCNICAMENTE, lo mejor que ha pasado por PS4 (que gran juego de despedida te llevas compañera)... Hacía muuuucho tiempo que no veía un juego con tanto nivel de detalle en todos los sentidos (maybe equiparable al Red Dead Redemption 2). Y esto son solamente aspectos puramente objetivos...
    En cuanto a lo subjetivo, a mí la historia me pareció bastante completa. Reconozco que el primer cuarto de juego se me hizo un poco lento, pero habiendo terminado el juego, creo que ese punto es necesario para "coger aire" frente a lo que se nos viene encima. La trama está bien llevada, sin artificios y sin "grandes" agujeros de guión. Poco a poco descubres que todo cobra sentido y la magia de este juego es que nada es lo que parece y que no existen buenos o malos... Todos y cada uno de los personajes están llenos de actos malvados, pero a la vez son compasivos. No es así la vida?
    Nada más, simplemente que no os dejéis llevar por el bombreviewing que le ha caído al juego por 4 amargados y que si tenéis la oportunidad de jugarlo, no lo dudéis. Una de las mejores experiencias con mi ps4    … Expand

    The reason many people straight up end up hating on the game is due to the fact Joel dies in the first act itself but as we (ellie) continues our pursuit of vengeance the further we go the more it hurts us and everybody around us. By the time we reach aquarium and kill pregnant mel thats when we-the character really start to question our actions.
    Then the clock resets to Seattle day 1 and we play as the character which seems the antagonist to us from the beginning act but as we deep dive into her story we realise she got her revenge but that didn't stop her from having nightmares and in the process she loses everyone close to her. In the end it's lev who stops her from killing Dina ending the cycle of violence.
    In the end Ellie finally realises that revenge is just not worth it but her pursuit of it throughout the events of the story has a cost. The cost being she ends up alone, her worst fear comes to life but she is finally at peace with herself and Joel.    … Expand

While I do think some people truly are acting in bad faith, there are legitimate criticisms of this game. The best way I can put this is with the first game, the gameplay takes a back seat to the narrative. With this game the narrative takes a backseat to the gameplay. The game is an absolute joy to play. If you care about the characters of the first game, this is a must play.… Expand

    The plot absolutely makes sense and 90 percent of the people leaving bad reviews haven't played the game and judge off of 2 cutscenes. The big complaint I have is that the pacing is pretty bad. Still prefer the first game but this is a solid follow up

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd start off by saying that I was a big fan of the story in the first game and not so much a fan of the game play. My feelings are reversed for this game.

    The graphics, sound, voice acting and game play are excelling in TLoU2. Where the game falls short for me is on the story. I wouldn't even say that the story is "bad" it's just not something that resonated with me.

    I would have much rather had a Joel/Ellie game than what this story is. I didn't like it when Joel died but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. Playing as Ellie on a revenge tale was perfectly fine for me. However, when you have to play as Abby is when I started to lose interest. Nothing about that 8-10 hours as her made me care about her or like her at all. I just thought it was filler to make the game longer, which it didn't need. They could have ended the game at the end of Ellie's 14 hours and it would have been great. But they continued on and made you suffer through Abby. Then you think the game is over and it would have been fine to end there also but they couldn't do that either. You have to slog through another 2-3 hours to get to an ending that isn't satisfying for anyone. If anything, the "antagonist" in this story gets a better ending. In my opinion, Naughty Dog tried way too hard to go against the grain and subvert expectations with the story.

    I’ve read a lot of bad reviews about this game but after playing it seems that most reviewers either haven’t played the game, have based their review on the pre-release leaks or do not understand the art of telling a great story. That being said, the story will split peoples opinions based on what they are expecting from this game. That being said, the story will split peoples opinions based on what they are expecting from this game. I avoided as much of the pre-release gameplay as possible and didn’t read any of the leaks as I wanted to experience the story by playing it. If you are expecting an adventure story about Noel and Ellie then you will not be satisfied. Although there are elements of adventure between the two, the story mainly focuses on revenge.

    One element that makes this story great is by not sticking to the storytelling traditions that have become predictable over time, particularly in most games or Hollywood movies. This story is far from predictable and ND have not been afraid to make bold decisions which in my opinion pays off, however, I think this is why peoples opinions are so split on the events that take place. Without trying to reveal too much about the game, the sequel, like the original, does not directly have a happy ending. The ending of the original is not as such a ‘happy ending’ but a sigh of relief that Joel saves Ellie from a death which would have been justified for the greater good. If the player had been given a choice to save Ellie or let her die to save humanity, most players would have chosen to save Ellie as ND brilliantly made you feel a connection to the characters. The difference with the sequel is that connection is still there but the story is linear so the decisions are probably not what the player wanted to happen. In my opinion the story gets a 10/10 but I can understand why people are not satisfied. Also people need to bear in mind that this is a game set in a post apocalyptic world, and roughly 25 years into it. It has become a world where groups have formed over time but it is still every man for himself when around strangers. Also all of the characters have been accustomed to death so some decisions that may be perceived as extreme to us are perhaps not so much for the characters.

    TLOU 1&2 is all about ones perspective of what is right and wrong. ND have been so clever in writing this story arc that the decisions that the characters make are all based on the perspective of what Ellie and Joel believe is right. That’s until a mid-game plot twist where you start to question whether your actions (in both games) can be morally justified and you have to detach yourself from the characters to truly get an answer. Some horrific events at the start of the game seem extreme but in reality, if the shoe was on the other foot, they can be seen as justifiable in the oppositions eyes, despite the player not wanting to see this.

    That is why I believe this story is great. ND isn’t just telling a revenge story, it’s telling a story where if you can look at actions from both sides, the justification for revenge is just a matter of opinion. That opinion is dependent on your own perspective of what you believe is right, but in the overall scheme of things, what you believe is right might not necessarily be what is morally right. It also shows that revenge can be a constant chain of events. You commit an action and someone takes revenge, you then take revenge on their revenge and it can continue back and forth until one wins or both lose. Ultimately, all actions have consequences and this story needs ‘revenge’ to happen for it to exist, but the developers ask the question can any good come out of revenge and is revenge always warranted? You can clearly see that this has been successfully portrayed by the mix of reviews and divide of opinion the game has had.

    As for the acting, the acting in this game is the best I have ever seen. Not only the way that the actors perform their lines but the movement actions and facial expressions are superb and the closest I have seen in a game to being real. The emotions of each character makes the story even more realistic and as always, ND’s attention to detail is incredible. Normally in games there is a small detail that stands out above others and for me this was the look in the eyes of a NPC when you sneak up on them and kill them from behind. The NPC's have a last look of struggle and lifelessness in their eyes that is incredibly realistic. The graphics and sound are also amazing and it feels like everything has been thought of. If you knock over a bucket that would normally be fixed to the ground as a back drop prop, the echos of the metal sound as if it was spontaneous rather that something that has been recorded.

    ND have polished this game to an incredibly high standard but in the end your are best playing it for yourself as the story is so opinionated that only you will be able to tell if you like it or not.    … Expand

When carrying each gun you can really sense their weight. The in-game graphic is breathtaking, from lightening to objects' textures to NPC meshes. The cutscenes are a jaw-drop thanks to the meticulous and deep work the animators put in the facial expressions.
    Sound design and music are really well balanced and timed throughout the entire gameplay. They drop you into the environment as if you were living every MC's breaths.
    And now the crucial point: the Story. The nonlinear narrative is so well done that I think it's the strength of this game. Two parallel stories told one after the other to challenge the player. They wanted us to wear the shoes of 'the bad guy'. But we quickly realize that there's no hero, there's no villain, there are just people surviving a world that has lost rules and civilization. Everyone fights its own battle for their own sake. Joel's death wasn't epic. Ellie's desire for revenge wasn't fulfilled. And that's the best they could do! Death isn't epic. There's no glorious (Marvel like) death here, there is just a cold butchered body. Even if I loved Joel in TLoU and I'd have loved to play him more.
    But I don't buy videogames to play my story. I can live my story in my dreams. When I buy a game I want it to surprise me, to encourage me to see things from different points of view. Otherwise, I will always be blind.

La verdad que es un juegazo, técnicamente es genial, sus gráficos son hermosos, su sonido te hace sentir dentro del mundo, su ost es genial como el primero, jugablemente es muy entretenido, vistoso y da para mucha imaginación y diversión, en cuanto al apartado de la inteligencia artificial esperaba algo mejor en cuanto al comportamiento de los infectados, sabemos que estos se alertan con el ruido y me hubiera gustado que el sonido de los pasos en el agua los alertara o la caída desde una superficie alta los alertara si estan a cierta distancia, le agregaria mas inmersion y dificultad. En cuanto a los npc estos están bastante bien pero siento de que pudieron ser mejor, me hubiera gustado que te flaqueen mas o se comuniquen mas entre ellos como se había rumoreado en el pre-lanzamiento. Ahora en cuanto historia eh de admitir que a pesar de todas las malas criticas me encanto, no se si es mejor que el original pero es bastante buen. Naugthy dog tenia un reto enorme en cuanto a la historia ya que la primera es una obra de arte pero para mi gusto lo hicieron bien. Pase por muchas etapas, entre la ira, la tristeza, la felicidad, derrame lagrimas y solte risas pero sobre todo es una historia que a mi parecer nos invita a la reflexión, durante mucho tiempo tuvimos la idea en la cabeza de que joel y ellie eran las personas mas buenas en este apocalipsis y realmente lo son, cada uno es el protagonista de su propia historia, los ame en la primera parte y en esta segunda también, y recalco en que nos invita a la reflexión por que las motivaciones de abby son muy parecidas a las de ellie en todo el juego, las acciones de abby son muy parecidas a la de ellie y joel en ambos juegos y sin embargo senti mucha bronca cuando paso lo que sabemos que pasa, senti mucho dolor y ganas de destrozarla, pero al fin y al cabo si nosotros no nos quejamos de esas acciones cuando joel y ellie lo hicieron el primer juego quitandole las pocas esperanzas y el único propósito de toda la gente abby y su padre es normal que sientan esa sed insaciable de venganza, no lo puedo culpa, seria hipócrita de mi parte, y si en parte sentí empatia con abby(tampoco tanta, todavía me duele lo que hizo pero después de vivir lo que vive ellie tomaría la misma decisión que al final) y con el yara y lev, dicho sea de paso estos personajes ayudan a abby a crecer como personaje, gracias a lev tenemos a ellie viva, si bien a mi parecer le falto desarrollo o tal vez otro enfoque a la historia de abby para que sintamos aprecio y tratemos de entender los que hace durante el juego pero es una tarea muy difícil, por que arrancar el juego con ella para desarrollar mejor hubiera sido para que crucifiquen al juego sabiendo como son y dedicarle un juego aparte a ella seria un suicidio por que se enojarian con toda el alma, mi solución(seguro que naugthy dog lo pensó ) podría a ver sido intercalar episodios con ambos personajes para entender a cada uno y llegar al gran final. tambien hubiera sido ultil mejorar el elenco de secundarios de abby a exepcion de yara y lev que son geniales, el resto son molestos y aburridos. El final me parece muy correcto por que invita a pensar en nuestras acciones y se puede ver un cambio en ellie. Este juego tiene muchos aspectos mas para discutir como la inclusión lgbt que no la senti forzada, también el cambio físico de abby que hace dudar a owen sobre su amor por ella, y es un aspecto importante por que demuestra cuanto se comprometió con realizar su venganza contra joel. Es un juego difícil de llevar, que tiene las bolas suficientes para mostrar lo que debe mostrar sin vacilaciones, aplaudo a Naugthy dog por animarse a tal proeza y creo que es un juego que va quedar en la historia, tal vez adelantado a su época, tal vez no por que la hipocresía siempre va estar en las personas. Y luego te hicieron jugar con el personaje que lo mató fue super incomodo en un principio, pero a medida que pasaba el juego fui entendiendo todo. Un juego valiente, que te hace salir de tu zona de confort acostumbrada ( saber quien son los "buenos" y quienes son los "malos"). Valiente, por que sabiendo que mucha gente no entendería ni le gustaría el porque de los acontecimientos, decidió llevarte a otro nivel de juego, de sensaciones. Respetando todas las opiniones, creo que no mucha gente no esta preparada para jugar este tipo de juegos que son mas complejos y de una trama mas complicada, que te deja pensando. Tudo o que foi feito no primeiro jogo esta sendo extremamente bem retratado e fiel aqui. Eu posso admitir que não fiquei feliz em ver a morte do Joel, mas foi tão impactante quanto ver a morte da Sarah.
    Todas as ações realizadas no primeiro jogo repercutiram aqui. E um fato bastante curioso: é revelado o sobrenome de Joel que é Miller, e o significado deste nome em seus pontos positivos e negativos mostra totalmente a personalidade da pessoa retratada no jogo.

Whether you like it or not it is something that the world hasn't seen before. Graphics, animations, sound (just OMG how good it is), the way how storytelling works (I'm not touching the script itself), the in-game atmosphere. All those things are simply unbelievable. When it comes to the most disputed aspect, story, well.. I liked it! I disagree with those people who say it doesn't deserve anybody's attention etc. etc. For me it's opposite: revenge was just one narrow line of the story but eventually turned to be something much bigger. The overall idea is much wider and deeper than that. But you have to play the game to feel and see that. Seems like the worst thing that happened to this game is the leak 2 months before the game came out. Because Neil is absolutely right: just play the game and experience it all yourself!     I'ld go with an 9,5/9,6. So I think a 10 is closer to the game's grade in my opinion.

    Such a grate game, one month since I've played and I still catch myself think about it.
    Amazing graphics, superb map design, incredible gameplay, realistic cutscenes, perfect soundtrack and sound effects. The story might desappoint some, but in my opinion it is very valid and groundbreaking

    The story is where everyone fails to see how good this game is. Everything in this games story focuses on the central theme of forgiveness. The game is heavy handed in showing how revenge destroys you as a person. It builds off the last games trope of characters making selfish decisions due to events that happened affecting each character personally. Joel dooms humankind to save a girl that reminds him of his daughter that was killed. His decision in this matter is completely selfish. In the sequel we see a new character abby make a selfish decision based off the act of another joel killing her brother. Much like joel's decision to kill all the fireflies in the first game. This decision affects ellie and causes her to make her own selfish decision that hurts others around her. Through out the game we see ellie grapple with the fact joel made a decision she did not agree with. Ultimately the story is about ellie forgiving joel. But really its about forgiving abby for her sins as well. Its a heartwarming tale about how even if the jury and the judge tells you, you have a right to hold a grudge, you can still forgive.

But once you play and see both sides of the story, if I was to put myself in their shoes I understand their motives. Felt very conflicted towards the end if I wanted Ellie to kill Abby or not, at the end I was ok with either or. Anyhow, love it or hate it is a very complex and detailed story that’s worth experiencing. Everything else in the game is amazing too; graphics, sound are among the best. Great gameplay but even though it might feel repetitive at times, the script is so vast that every encountered feels different as you progress through the story. Thought to be honest gameplay to me was a bit boring, but that’s because I suck at stealth, if I had more creativity I can see how that would been more fun, but I get spotted early on, chose a corner where I can’t be cornered and I blast them all away. Love it or hate it, this is a game that every one should experience, whatever your emotional journey will be, it will be worth it… Expand

Me dispongo unos cuantos días después de haber finalizado el juego a hacer mi respectiva y única critica a The Last Of Us Part II. Creo que Naughty Dog se ha arriesgado en este juego y es verdad que han intentado abordar temas complejos y poco explorados en los videojuegos. Pero he de decir que la resolución de estos añadidos arriesgados han sido de gran admiración. Sin ser pesados y siendo coherente los temas sociales e incluso políticos que están presentes en el juego son muy sutiles y en ningún momento abusivos. Se agradece y es de admirar que este tipo de creados se arriesguen con estos temas porque realmente estos temas tendrían que ser mas explorados y detallados en la industria.
    Creo que respecto a la historia se nota una gran mejoría con respecto a la calidad de esta como en la forma de contarla. Dejando huella en mucha ocasiones con escenas que se recordaran por siempre. Las mecánicas sin ser muy renovadoras y siendo muchas de ellas heredadas del primer juego. Están mucho mas pulidas y mejoradas también dando lugar a mecánicas nuevas que impactan y sorprenden. Con respecto a la jugabilidad mejora muy potencialmente con respecto a la primera parte y hace el juegos mas divertido y fluido. Tengo que decir que en esta segunda parte el apartado musical se queda un poco atrás con respecto a la primera parte. Esto no quiere decir que la música sea peor sino que el apartado musical destaca menos con respecto al papel protagonista que tenia la música en su anterior entrega. Pero este tipo de carencia lo compensa con unos increíbles y obsesivos detalles técnicos y artísticos tanto en el entorno del propio juego como en sus personajes. Alejándose en muchos momentos de ser algo ficticio a algo que roza la propia realidad señalando a su vez el gran trabajo tanto actoral como artístico Pero aun así creo que en este juego la jugabilidad no es la parte mas importante. The Last Of Us destaca por sus increíbles personajes, entornos e historia y en esta segunda parte se nota como en Naughty Dog trabajan verdaderos profesionales que saben crear y contar historias de una manera única. En definitiva no me quiero enrollar mucho con esta critica porque creo sinceramente que The Last Of Us Part II es en si una obra maestra y claramente esta segunda parte superan en todos los aspectos a la primera parte. Solo que para mi la primer parte tiene un significado añadido que hace que me decante por ella. Pero por favor dejar de atacar y criticar a un juego por una intención o porque moralmente no os agrade lo que veáis en pantalla. Recordar que los videojuegos los jugamos nosotros, pero nosotros no decidimos como se hacen. Dejar ese trabajo a profesionales como la gente de Naughty Dog que ademas de hacer un increíble trabajo nos han brindado una autentica obra maestra y de lo único que han pecado es de intentar educar y enseñar a la gente que el videojuego ahora mas que nunca en un arte.     Absolutely incredible story and gameplay. Pretty much couldn’t go to bed at night for a month straight. Heart racing the entire way through and emotionally draining til the end. 10/10 series and game.

Haunting, lasting, this will affect your dreams. No doubt influenced by Druckman's time in Israel with the Israel-Palestinian conflict, this is a story about war and redemption. About endless lost, for no reason. The meaninglessness of war. That nothing is resolved but death. And at the end, all you have to show for it is that you are missing your fingers.

    This is an experience that shows what is possible with this new medium of art called the videogame.

    This is an experience of living with war unlike any other art I have seen. "All quiet on the Western Front," "Apolyspye Now", "Catch 22" - nothing I have experienced captures truly the horror of the depth of human civilization to inflict suffering on the "other." This game is about experiencing the "other" - learning how to emphasize with a person you literally hate with a passion. By the end of the game, you are more loyal to her. The ending is brutal as you are forced to try to kill her. But thankfully at the end you can't.

    This is a bold intense game. It's a blockbuster film that has the power to transform. These are serious, serious risks taken by the developers, and the trust Sony had with the process is outstanding.

    Can you imagine if in Star Wars you not only get to watch everything from the Empire's perspective, but also start to like the Empire more than the rebels.

    Now the game itself isn't perfect. It drags on too long. The final chapter in Santa Barbara is superflosous. There is no reason for it. It can resolve with the fight with Abby and Ellie that Dina and Lev end.

    But it continues, to try to further drive home this part.

    But does it matter? No, too much power outweighs any criticism.

    Also the game mechanics are top notch. The enemy AI is brilliant. Strategy is fascinating. To go stealth, then to have to break it, then to attempt again.

    The scene with the war on the island is breathtaking.

    God I hope more games will go in this direction. That will take risk, not be safe.    … Expand

    einfach richtig Großartig das Spiel!! Gameplay macht mir richtig viel Spaß, das Storytelling ist einfach richtig grandios und dazu noch die richtig schöne Grafik! Naughty Dog hat es einfach immer noch drauf!!

    It's a great game. It made me to rethink the ending of the first part and it teaches to look on things from both sides. It has gorgeous graphics, interesting gameplay, and perfect soundtrack 10/10

I saw all leaks prior of the release date and it never discouraged me purchasing this game. I think it even made me want to play it more to be completely honest. It took some time getting used to the controller mechanics but I picked it up really quick. Although, I may not like the fact that Joel die, I like the story overall. I never played a game that you get to play the first half as the antagonist and the other half as the protagonist. So I have to give credit to Naughty Dog for thinking outside the box. The graphics and physics are top quality everything about this game is awesome.… Expand

I was connected to Joel from The Last of Us Part 1 and I in many ways agreed with everything he did. Questionable and unquestionable. When the game subverted my expectations and had me thinking that Joel would be okay, I was hit like a truck when he wasn’t. I love this game.     A game with lasting effect.
    Every bit about this game is superb. And the narrative gives you a lasting effect, and make you mind think about it for while, unlike shiny trendy stuff of these days, it doesn't fear being sad and harsh.

    One of the best games that i played in my entire life!! Solid gameplay.. superb graphics.. dont care about lesbians or things that bother other people.. story is not for everyone but for me it was stunning!

    An amazing and improved version of The Last of Us i terms of Gameplay and Graphics.....Naughty Dag did a very good job to using the PS4 hardware which is outdated and still developing this stunning looking game.The story was good too and I get why people hated it.....its not for everyone.
    Definitely a must play Game.

    This game is just awsome, gameplay its fun, you have the necesity to explore and check every corner, history its good, I like it a lot and im a great fan of first game, its a long game, lot of things to do and very replayable, sound its just amazing, performance its amazing, grafics are amazing, please dont trust the kids making bad reviews, this is a master piece game

    I just beat it. For the people those are reading this. If you’re still debating on buying this game cuz of the negative reviews, don’t waste ur time because you are missing out one of the best PS4 exclusives. I loved every single part in this game. There are some flaws which are negligible when it comes to the overall game. So just buy and enjoy every minute of it. Thanks again to NaughtyI just beat it. For the people those are reading this.     Give it a 9/10 cuz it has it's flaws.

    Gonna hurt a lot of feelings here, but people whine for the dumbest of reasons. The death's are all fine and justified, sure you loved the guy, but its fine. Flashbacks bring an emphasis on his fatherly figure, made me tear up seeing as he saved my ass once again in that ONE flashback.
    Lot of movies/series do such sudden deaths, its more realistic. No need for talks or cinematic 'deaths', you just pow the guy, it happened to Joel and to pretty much every character in this game, loved the approach.
    The guy spitting on him is not Druckmann for those who keep insinuating that and blabla there are many misconceptions that keep getting pushed. Its a spanish model for one.
    So much to say i dont have time to write it, moving on.

    2nd arc with Abby is more so you can see that she has a soul as well, try to empathize but the game does make a job of poiting out she is a **** they don't really want you to like her, just understand her.
    When people hate something, they nitpick, i see it all the time, bad story, revenge plot, blabla. Please, so many games did the same or worse and got praised for it.
    Now that you hate it cuz of whatever reason (if some of u even have one, except what u heard from others) you just nitpick. I can do that easy, i do it when i really hate something :). But ik how not to be biased and subjective.

    The ending fight is literally MGS4 REMAKE of Old Snake vs Liquid and that was praised as a masterpiece. While here 'its such a **** fight, ugh, acording to some of you'. The public has probably changed with time, but i'm gonna go ahead and say it. Most of the haters are teens, MOST, not all ofc. Since if you circulate online on different forums and sites, most of these are filled with SJW hate and whatnot that most people don't even care about. But the teens of today are filled with this hate.... with a lack of other words, it is 'propaganda'.
    Anyway.
    I do hate some of the SJW stuff as well, i have nothing against SJW in particular i just don't like that everyone is trying to put it in your face in every game and movie nowadays.
    Like for real, if the PC culture and SJW isn't in a game nowadays its a crime and that annoys me a little.
    The is the sole reason and maybe a few plot holes that i give it a 9 out of 10.

    This game was amazingly crafted.

    Everything, from the technical side to the story, deserves a solid 10.

    Some people might find it hard to swallow as the story happens as it would in real life, but what can I say, real life hurts :)

    100% recommended, I'm glad I bought it and would do so again.

    I finished the game now and it's fantastic. Different of first part in PS3, the game has a good playability and beautiful graphics. Doesn't is the generation better graphic (because this is Death Stranding), but have a high detail level. And it is platinable.

    The story is controversy. While it has a strong revenge story, with a revenge breeds revenge logic, with many conflicts. But if    I finished the game now and it's fantastic.     1000010 best game of the year and generation powerful plot and awesome graphics.I was a little disappointed with the choice of the second protagonist, but maybe it’s for the better, it fits perfectly into the plot. Impressed by the sound and musical accompaniment. I advise everyone to play and go. DO NOT SEE YOUTUBE!!!!!

JUST to be clear, the people who worked on the game did great except the direction or stoyboard and pacing of this, abbys story entirely imo could of been left out. it just didnt feel right to have her in it. NOT to say its the VA and the production team fault. it was the directions overall. the game was great to play. and joel isnt a dummy even though i feel joel would have a lot of enemies. but that part with joel wasnt the way to go tbh. the game is beautiful, direction/story needed work. it was in production too long for it to be so flawed… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wouldn’t rate this game a perfect 10/10. It’d be closer to a 10 than a 9, however. So, on the scale options given to me, it gets a 10. The only thing I didn’t like about it was how it made me feel. It is a very difficult game to play because it is so powerful and depressing. From Joel’s brutal death to the journey that follows, there are so many terrible decisions made by the main characters, so much pain, death, anger, and hatred that I found the game very difficult to play at times. But what happened was the realization that no other game I’ve ever played had made me feel so many things and challenged my views/beliefs on so many topics. I finished the game a week ago and have not stopped thinking about it since. It’s that powerful. Kudos to the Naughty Dog team for taking such a huge gamble with the 2nd installment of perhaps the most beloved game/IP of the past decade. I didn’t like feeling all of those things (who enjoys feeling depressed?), and I play video games b/c they’re fun, but this game is still too good and too powerful to ignore. I highly recommend it to anyone, but just be prepared for an emotional journey unlike any you’ve ever experienced.… Expand

    The Last Of Us Part 2 may not be for everyone, but it is definitely for me. It is controversial, but if you are willing to be open minded in the direction of the game you will have one hell of an experience.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
