    In my honest opinion, I thought this game was amazing. I have spent the past 3 days playing through this game and have finally completed it. I especially fell in love with the gameplay mechanics, graphics and the audio. I couldn't seem to get off the game as I kept on wondering what would happen next to Ellie in her adventures. I also enjoyed the more enhanced horror to the game which madeIn my honest opinion, I thought this game was amazing. The story is something that everyone will rate personally. But games like this come out once a decade, so you definitely want to experience it.     I've rarely been affected this much by a game. It's an artistic achievement beyond anything that has been done before now in a video game. It'll make you happy, it'll make you angry (some people are so angry by the content of the game that they've stopped playing it!). I cannot stress how incredibly important this game is for the gaming industry as a whole, but for entertainment in general.

This is a story about an apotalitic world where rules do not exist, ellie and Joel are two persons in the middle of these and they are exposed to all the dangers as much as other person in this world. I actually played the game and I really didn't like to play with Abby half of the game, less hours with her would be great, but it's good to see other views, life styles and the communities that exist in this world, and I think that is only possible playing with a character completely different. This game is about that world and not just Joel and ellie. Don't hate this game just because it's different to what we expected and give a chance.

Yeah, that we have to play the half of the game with a character everybody hates isn't cool, but in the end there are more positive points then negatives. When you are a fan of Part 1, try the second one. The only very very bad thing about the game is, that Naughty Dog killed Joel after we saw him just 10 minutes. Just try the game and form your own opinion. Last but not least I have to say that the look and sound of the game are breathtaking. If one enjoyed the first game, one will truly enjoy this game. The game and graphics are out of this world! The leaks do not do justice when actually playing this game.     Upon downloading The Last Of Us 2, and preparing my PS4 hard drive for a 100GB haul, I couldn't help but notice all the poor user reviews, shortly after the game had released. I thought The Last Of Us 2 was being judged too early or judged wrongfully. I have played the entire campaign, searched for all possible extra dialogue, and cinematic moments. I hereby present you with my review of The Last Of Us 2.

    I will be evaluating the game based on the core elements of a presentation. Beginning with visuals, soundtrack, environmental sounds, minuscule details, gameplay, ending with an emotional reaction.

    Visuals: If we are judging The Last Of Us 2's visual presentation off of the previous entry, the lengths and bounds Naughty Dog stretched this game had my PS4 cranking out heat like an oven. The Last Of Us 2 pushed the PS4 to its absolute limits, given its 30FPS gameplay, even at a 1080P resolution. Furthermore, if we are drawing comparisons between modern triple-A titles, The Last Of Us is up to par with modern titles in terms of visual fidelity. The grand change I noticed was the world's foliage, and lighting system. Naughty Dog truly implemented a realistic lighting tone, with impeccable volumetric lighting, stable darks in lightless areas, and pure god rays to look at, as I was admiring the game's densely forested areas. Gameworld design I personally believe falls into the visual department, as it directly affects the way the player interacts with the environment, however from a gameplay perspective, it is easily as formidable; I will touch on that in the gameplay section. However, the new ways of exploring, and maneuvering about in the game world have kept some core components, yet in addition added new elements of discovery, by borrowing them from other Naughty Dog titles, Uncharted for example.

    Soundtrack: The soundtrack, in my opinion, was one of the main selling points for the original Last Of Us, Naughty Dog kept that in mind. the emotional, yet intense gameworld is invigorating with a complimentary soundtrack to assist in the delivery. Whether a subtly guitar is playing while you stride along an overgrown road, or the mad violin, and deep bass when engaging in a firefight, it captures your attention with ease. I found myself just stopping when traveling across this incredibly dense game world, to a simple look, and listen to what was in front of me.

    Environmental Sounds: I made the executive decision to separate soundtrack with etc sounds present within the game world, and for good reason, I might add. I was playing The Last Of Us 2 on a 75' 1080P TV, with a 5.2 system. The Last Of Us 2 is beautifully optimized for audio density, as holds true with its audio options for a deeper configuration. Furthermore, while traversing within the world, I found myself stopping frequently, to listen around me. Whether it was a bush whistling with the wind, a word building creaking with every step I took, or the horrifying clicking sound from behind, the sounds kept me engaged with what was going on within that time, yet caused me to get lost in my own amusement.

    Minuscule Details: I could see how this point could come off gimmicky, however for players who stop to appreciate the smallest of touches a developer cared enough to implement, this might be for you. I am a sucker for a tiny detail, whether it is how the grass realistically reacts to the wind direction, how Abby's ponytail changes the shoulder it folds over depending on her momentum and direction, or how stagnant puddles of water simulate a real-time reflection, relative to the way the player looks at the puddle; The Last Of Us 2 hands players these small, yet rememberable details in spades.

    Gameplay: Ah, gameplay. This is where Naughty Dog was wise with their executive decision about combat. Some sequel games attempt to alleviate the monotony of past games with all new combat, completely doing a 180 on past players. The Last Of Us 2 retains the prior games combat style, yet subtly implements new areas that feel organic, and natural to how Ellie would traverse an environment. The addition of new weapons, crafting recipes, upgrade paths, and foes to face; The Last Of Us 2 is a better version of the previous game Naughty Dog provided us.

    Emotional Reaction: This section will purely be my personal reaction to The Last Of Us 2 as a whole. To, attempt to summarize my emotions towards this game, I can not put it in few words, or words at all for that matter. Ones who had the privilege of playing the first game, we all remember how emotionally attached we were to Joel, and Ellie on their journey to save the lives of all. Naughty Dog left an impact on the world with their masterpiece of a game.    … Expand

It did not have the hope/grief rollercoaster of the first game. It just made me feel dull and empty and profoundly sad at the end. But that was the point right? Vengeance is a terribly bad idea, yet completely understandable and supportable. Cycle of violence and whatnot. Revenge is how worlds go to **** Message received naughty dog. And thank you for this very fun game. P.s. Bit buggy sometimes :-/ never game breaking tho.… Expand

    Los graficos, que decir de ellos, SUBLIMES, ESPECTACULARES, no tengo otra palabras para describirlos, Naughty Dog está tan cerca de la perfección
    La jugabilidad, no es algo que sea novedoso, pero lo mejora a niveles increibles, y eso es algo muy importante y se merece ser visto de buena manera
    La historia, simplemente bellisima, no hay palabras, como engancharnos a unos personajes, ver sus detalles, sus acciones y como afectan a la trama, es algo increible, como tambien podemos tomar una reflección de que hasta que punto nos llevará la venganza y cuando deberemos dejar ir o continuar.

Es lässt dich über eine Sache nachdenken „was ist eigentlich das richtige und wie weit gehe ich für mein Ziel und macht es sinn dieses Risiko auf sich zu nehmen und das aller wichtigste, werde ich dann wieder glücklich sein? ". Dieses Spiel ist ein Meisterwerk und sollte geschätzt werden. ❤️

    Everything from the perspective, to story telling, to the emotion. All of it was executed near flawlessly. Even almost to a disadvantage. In anticipation of reaching the end and seeing more story, some parts of the game towards the end felt long or drawn out. But the characters and animation and gameplay in general was incredible.     This is a brilliant game with a lot of risks taken from the narrative perspective. It's easy to understand why there are people so wildly mad against it. Small minds.
    So, in the end, love it or hate it. But I strongly feel very disappointed seeing so many dumb people destroying this titanic effort full of fine art, talent and inspiration.

Uno con el que al principio no estaba completamente de acuerdo, pero después de completar el juego, realmente siento y entiendo las perspectivas de Ellie y Abbie. Of course in the beginning when i was playing as Abby in Seattle i didn't like it at all. I was just mad at her for what she did, but playing more and more with her and seeing what gave her that kind of hate, i felt that for her as well... I am not saying i liked her more than Ellie, because Ellie is the character we all know and love. And i totally felt more for her with the things that happened in the beginning of the game with Joel's death of course (which really broke my heart)... But after playing through Ellie's part of the story made it a bit softer with every kill from the people of the group in Jackson, and by the time we were playing as Abby i hated her, but seeing the bigger picture and looking back after finishing the game i see why they both did what they did... So yeah... I LOVE THIS GAME... Everything is just so well crafted from how the story ties in to the game play... Just wow... Good job Naughty Dog!!… Expand

    Могу с уверенностью сказать то что первая часть по сюжетной части будет получше. Всё дело во второй половине игры, где нам дают поиграть за ненавистного всем персонажа. Я понимаю, как хотели NaughtyDog: проявить симпатию к антагонисту. Видимо, игроки это явно не одобрили, объяснив это оценкой 3 балла(уже 5) - у игроков, у журналистсов - 9,6(нет, им не заплатили) когда первую часть оценили в 9,4. Можно было обнаружить умников, которые писали на метакритике специально минимальные баллы, ну да, на сайте где не обязательно приобретать игру. К тому же ЛГБТ повестка является вторым ламателем дров.
    Я не говорю то что она мне не нравится. Я поиграл 50 часов, конечно игра понравилась. Планку портит первая часть. Я ждал тандем-тандемище, а его нет.     Graphically its amazing, great visuals and smooth textures. Controls a lot smoother than the first one and the combat feels a lot more fluid.

    Thr story is very well done, its heart breaking and heart warming all at in one. It creates drama and tension, makes you worry for the characters and even challenge your beliefs about well established characters. It is one of the most humanising games I have seen and really shows the effect of the characters choices.

    All I can say is go in with an open mind, it is different from the first but not in a bad way. This deserved a 10 and naughty dog deserves more praise than its getting. Sadly in todays world people cant think laterally and when something doesnt go their way they jump on their keyboard and slam the hard work that was put in rather than trying to understand the message of the game.    … Expand

The ending is not as happy as a lot of people might want it, but it makes sense, cause Ellie gets what she deserves for throwing away her family and the life she had to hunt Abbey down. It feels a bit out of control, cause you can't really make a decision yourself, but that is also a good thing, cause it shows, how the death of a close character can change you for worse. If you don't like a game, that doesn't let you make most decisions yourself, don't play it. If you like an amazing and overarching story and also good story telling, feel free to try this game. It really reflects what loss causes for a lot of people and how it leads you to make decisions that are driven by anger and grief. And that is what this game teaches you. And for anyone hating the ending: a game doesn't have to have a 100% happy ending. Ellie gets what she deserves for leaving Dina and JJ to hunt down Abbey. And I think a lot of people are way too fastidious when it comes to happy endings and how they demand at least 50% happiness for a character. The game shows a sad truth about life: You don't allways get what you want, and not everything ends happy. Cause fu*king up and the cause of that happens in real life.     I don't like when people say "you just didn't like the game because you didn't get it," but it honestly feels like most people were so emotionally invested in Joel's death that they literally didn't pay attention to anything the game was doing for the remaining 20 ish hours afterward.

    If the central messages of the game were this difficult for people to grasp... I guess it is valid criticism that the game wasn't clear enough? But then there's another crowd criticizing the game for being hamfisted in delivering its themes.

    All I know is that for me, the story totally worked. I certainly didn't agree with the character's decisions all the time, but this isn't supposed to be a game with player choice in a branching narrative. It's just trying to help you understand why the characters make the decisions they do, and for me it was absolutely successful.

    Ellie sets off on a revenge quest and gets so caught up in it that she sacrifices the bright future she had with Dina. Abby, meanwhile, has finished her own revenge quest at the start of the game, leaving her somewhat purposeless, and she struggles to find something to live for while Ellie hunts her down. In the end, Ellie finally realizes what Abby has learned, that protecting people you care about is the only way to truly rid yourself of your internal demons, but it's tragically too late as Dina has already decided to leave her.

    The internal struggle to move on from loss and past traumas in general is not a novel or earth-shattering idea, but the game explores this struggle fully, with compelling characters, and an insane level of detail in both world-building and plot consistency. If this isn't what people recognize as a fantastic game, I have no idea what they want...

    And what are people talking about the SJW agenda of the game? Yeah there's a couple LGBT characters. The game spends almost 0 time on this, so who cares?    … Expand

Para mi este es algo único ya que no han tenido miedo de matar a alguien tan importante para nosotros como lo es Joel y después de ponernos en la piel de su asesina para entender las razones de porque lo hizo ver como la violencia genera más violencia y todo para acabar viendo a una Ellie demacrada mutilada y sola que ya no puede tocar la guitarra lo único que le quedaba de Joel por su venganza y culpándose así misma de todo lo que pasó. aquí no se tratan de malos o buenos sino de como se ve el mundo desde distintas perspectivas y de que no es todo blanco o negro para mi en términos de historia, gráficos jugabilidad y diseño de niveles es magistral, si le pudiera sacar algo negativo por sacarle algo es la poca importancia que le dan a Jesse ya que no sientes nada cuando muere cosa que con el primer TLOU si que lo consiguieron con Sarah. es un juego que da que pensar y me apena muchísimo que haya generado tanto odio entre los jugadores de forma totalmente injustificada. Lo único que espero es que hagan un DLC para ver como termina todo de verdad.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well. This was something else entirely that i expected. From Naughty Dog it was very brave and unexpected move to craft a sequel like this. To begin with story was different and refreshing for me. It makes a statement. While it is not one of the best stories it still stands out. And will be story that will not be forgotten. There are some awesome moments as well as some sad and disturbing moments. It is clever in it's own way, but i do not like the way it is told. Something similar to Beyond: Two Souls. Still doesn't make it entirely bad. I see this story as bit above average for my taste. Surely for many people this will disappoint depending on taste. For me this was actually new and unique experience that i haven't experienced and it gives me more than it takes.

    Gameplay was fantastic. It was exiting and engaging. It was bit different from previous game. It actually made you feel under pressure. At some point having a oppressive moments where you not a moment felt safe. There were some unexpected jump scare moments as well. Camera angles made you feel uncomfortable on purpose that made you feel even less safe. It also was quite challenging even in medium difficulty. In the end it was something that i will remember for long.

    Graphics were awesome. They're likely best we will see in this generation of consoles. For example forests felt very realistic there being plants a lot and being cramped. Textures were great and detailed. Animations were perfected. Facial animations showed at some scenes how far they've gotten not only in cutscenes but in gameplay as well. Actually you could not tell much difference from gameplay and cutscenes and the transfer was so smooth. Every setting of areas you get to play were great and unforgettable.

    Shortly story was unique, different and unexpected. It was not bad but not excellent either. Gameplay and graphics were actually biggest strength of this game.    … Expand

    Best experience ever on a videogame. Better than Part I, which is also awesome. Naughty Dog brought us a masterpiece again. One week after finished the game, still impacted with the story.

    The guys at Naughty Dog have gigantic balls! The story is tough to swallow and in big parts very depressing. And that is good. This is not just a game, it is an experience. The game takes a deep dive in what humans are, what we are capable off and how our flaws can misguide us, no matter how good a person you are. Game wise also excellent. This game shows what games could be and should be, if they want to be challenging. Play it, you will love it. If not, play it again and again. At least you will learn from it, to grow as a human.     The game is not what you want... It’s what you need, a true real world narrative, based on hardships. It not afraid to piss it’s fan base off and that’s what makes it so unique.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally liked the story and I was surprised the amount of backlash it received. I was surprised that there are a lot of people who wish Ellie finish Abby off in the last fight.

    After playing Abby for quite a while and saw the struggles she faced, I was very sad when they both fight at the beach. Killing each other in order to get revenge would bring us nothing other than self satisfaction. If Abby didn't spare Ellie's life in the theater, most likely she will be dead hanged at the beach. But she did and from my perspective, Ellie came and "saved" her from death. It's a reward for Abby for doing so.Ellie spared Abby's life as well. Which might be in her favour who knows when. I really hope we can see TLOU3 with Abby+Ellie combo but seeing the backlash ot received, it'll be foolish for naughty dog to continue the development for this game.

    It's the end of the world where humans should come together to find a solution to overcome the infected issue but they didn't. This game showed human behaviour at its best.    … Expand

Having played the game completely and on my second play through, I would give this game a 9, but pushed it to 10, because of the negative reviews from people who clearly haven't played the game or very little of it. The combat is highly improved from the first with a added dodge function. And the ability to jump and go prone, which adds depth to the combat. Now onto the spoilers. The game is add the vicious circle of violence, it starts with Abbie killing joel and Ellie wanting revenge, with the twist later in the game you see this from Abbies View, this is the part people hate, gamers playing as Abbie the person they hate, the part people miss is the game being about forgiveness as a player, idots miss this point, the story continues OK, the last part is not really necessary, but all round the game is of a high standard and worth the money, ignore the idiots saying **** like, it has more bugs then fallout 76, I only exprenced one floating gun glitch in my full play through, I highly recommend this game. Don't skip this guys it's a masterpiece.… Expand

    I don't claim to understand most of the major decisions in the games storytelling, but I believe that's the objective. It doesn't want to come across as a story that has a person controlling it. It wants to be a soul crushing as possible to reinforce the fact that anything can happen to anyone at any time. It leaves you with a massive sense of unease for the safety of the characters you love.

    I hear a lot points made about the feeling of having some sort of agenda forced on to you. I didn't feel that at all. If you have a problem with two women/men kissing and being in a loving relationship, then I would ask you to leave the 1900's and catch up to the rest of us in 2020.

    Just played through the game, graphics are fantastic, the story is hard. Very hard. Had to take a few moments before continuing at some points.

    O melhor exclusivo do PlayStation 4 sem dúvidas, os gráficos e cenários são fantásticos, a trilha sonora então... nem se fala impecável, como sempre, Ellie novamente como uma personagem forte e engraçada, parabéns a Naugthy Dog por esse trabalho incrível, e muita representatividade. Obrigado por esse jogo, se por ventura fizerem um terceiro jogo eu com certeza compraria.
