    Great game, gorgeous graphics and strong (painfull) storytelling. The controls take some getting used to but by the end of the game I had no issues getting around. This game does something most games don't. It gets you to feel bad for the things you do. For example the dogs, I hate to kill them but seriously f*ck those dogs.

    Story is amazing for my liking. I like how they’re trying to build new characters. Gameplay is awesome, nods to movies and the 1st game are a very nice touch. It’s full of emotion and it’s a beautiful revenge story told from 2 perspectives!

    A 10 for story, twists and drawing me into the world. I like the more open nature ( wider paths/areas then in 1). I have been gaming since pong and this is the first series that has made real emotions come out. It made me feel deeply. I mean tears flushed face goosebumps Anger empathy all of it. Ok a 9 for the game play it’s the same with added long jumps, crawling, better hiding etc.A 10 for story, twists and drawing me into the world.     But when I saw Joel died, in the beginning, I didn't even want to continue the game but I spend my 70 bucks so I continued to play the game the Seattle part with Ellie was beautiful just what I expected from a naughty dog game. But when the part arrived that I need to play with Abby the story went down.
    After all of that, you go to Los Angeles to kill Abby but at the end you spare her.'

This game is driven by hate and shows you the ugly world of the last of us people are mad that Joel is dead but after a while you will get over it and really see the game for what it is. And getting to play as his killer for half the game is a spectacular nuance to driving home the fact that these are all just people. Theine of revenge had to stop somewhere and Ellie realizes this far too late. Awesome storytelling… Expand

    I usually never leave comments unless the game is extremely bad, or exceptionally well done. Given the score I rated this game at you can tell how much I enjoyed this game. And I wanted to leave a positive review after seeing all the backlash it received, because this game and the people behind it deserve a lot better. Neil promised a dark, unsettling, harsh revenge story, and they sureI usually never leave comments unless the game is extremely bad, or exceptionally well done. Given the score I rated this game at you can tell how much I enjoyed this game. And I wanted to leave a positive review after seeing all the backlash it received, because this game and the people behind it deserve a lot better. Neil promised a dark, unsettling, harsh revenge story, and they sure did deliver. Calling the plot bad because it didn't have a happy ending is just mind boggling. Like they say, when you out on revenge, dig two graves... For me its another classic from Naughty dog i will play over and over and over like Uncharted 2, and the TLOU part one.… Expand

    It's a shame that people are bombing this game because of their views on homosexuality or the LGBT community. This is a fantastic game that improves gameplay and mechanics from part 1. Sure, it has its flaws and the story is more all over the place and 9 times out of 10 sequels dont beat out the original, but how does any of this make people hate the game that much?     An amazing journey through the human condition. The blurring between the classic protagonist/antagonist roles was mesmerizing. A must-play for everyone out there. If you haven’t played the first one, that is a must for this game.

    About 10 hours in and its almost all positive. Gameplay is great, graphics are next level, story line is full of drama and naughty dog didn't try to get too fancy with anything. I just wish there were more weapon gear customizations but not a big deal. 9/10 so far.

    I replaced my PS3 blu-ray drive 8 times over two different models, owned every system prior to the present generation, and played a lot of great games over many, many years of console ownership.
    I'm still a gamer, however due to family issues, I game exclusively on PC these days.     That said, this game blows me away, just like God of War did, and your enjoyment of such a masterpiece may vary depending on what you've experienced in life.
    For fathers, sons, daughters, mothers, young teenage lovers confused by the world... This game has so much life in it that I dare to call it the best collection of digital mimicry of the human experience in one game TO DATE.
    Red Dead Redemption 2 is a competitor where this is concerned, on the map, but it's not leading the race at this point.
    Sure, there's some angst with the overall story that fans of the first game won't like much at all, but the story goes beyond comfort zones that it's portraying much more than anything we've dared to create in this medium. It's a collection of extreme human experiences from a time unlike anything most people have lived through. And if you've done some of the things this game portrays, trying to survive in a hostile environment, and happen to be a parent with those same experiences, it will hit you square in the head with a pointy brick and leave you bleeding.

    That out of the way, there are a few glitchy technical parts with the actual game to discuss, this experienced from an observer's point of view who happens to have some expertise on the subject.
    The animations are a little rough here and there, stop-gapped with technology rather than fully hand-fitted. The mocap could have been better edited to fix that, but you'll notice it fairly often that it was done green-screen all the way, which does break immersion from time to time. Some of the interactions the player can do flat out break if the input is too quick, and the player body will be negatively impacted to the point a reset is needed. A lot of games these days have the same problem, so it's not exclusive to Naughty Dog.
    There's A LOT of npc teleportation going on, both with your companion and enemy AI. Sometimes it happens right in front of you, sometimes off camera, but it's very evident it's happening frequently. Same with the sound of dialog. It should be 'in tune' when the player and an NPC are face to face, but often sounds like it's off to one side or the other. Annoying, but not unforgivable.
    There's a few graphical issues I think could be better cleaned up for further fleshed out to really push the engine like better clothing maps, but not being a current gen console owner, I'm guessing it was downgraded for performance reasons.

    All of that out of the way, the environments recreated in this game are EXTRAORDINARY. It's not fully open world but enough so that there's always more than one option to a problem. There's tons of exploration to enjoy, and done within a fairly linear-modeled environment, it's just about the perfect middle ground I could think of between fully sandbox and a stone dead on-the-rails design. World and level design is astounding, and you can feel the life in it's creation; A LOT of talented artists put A TON of work into this, with passion and skill and endless refinement. If this game wins awards for anything other than story, this will be world design.

    Overall, THIS is still a game that is good enough that I would consider buying a PS4 to play, or even earmark for the next gen to wait on as it will probably never come to PC, most unfortunately. As previously noted, there's so much life in it that should be experienced by those looking for more out of their gaming voyage without pulling punches or worrying about your trifles with certain comfort zones.    … Expand

    The art design is superb - it has set the bar so high I can’t even think of many games that look as good as this.

    The story is controversial to say the least but the storytelling is so good that it constantly makes you feel what the characters are feeling at each point in the game. Like the first one, you may not agree with the characters about the decisions that they have made but that’s the beauty of it. There’s a a lot of uncomfortable and gut-wrenching moments but if you think about the events that have happened, you will realize why it all makes sense. The story can be difficult to chew and probably not for everyone and that’s why I think it’s beautiful.

    The gameplay will be so much fun if you’re into the past Naughty Dog games like me. The enemies can be really scary and you will see how much they care about each other just like Joel and Ellie.

    Going back the story, it is controversial but very appropriate for our society today. In my opinion, you should be okay about the message that the game wants to convey if you’re not a bigot. :)    … Expand

    Nobody is going to remember the limpdick bigots years from now. This is a compelling game. Don't let the trolls tell you otherwise.
    The only real complaint i have is the boats are hard to control sometimes. But that's only a small portion of the game.

    The last of us 2 is probably one of the most immersive games I’ve ever had a chance to get my hands on on a ps4.     Where to even begin. I am a 33 year old who has been a gamer my whole life. I enjoy all sorts of story driven/combat based games. I enjoy difficult games, I enjoy easy games. Basically any non FPS game. This. This game. I started playing Friday night and basically did not stop until I was done. Simply put it is amazing. Do not buy into the review bombs

He has the right to destroy his own creature when he feels it's necessary and be sure that was even harder for him to destroy his own beloved character.     It’s been a blast getting to play this game with these characters. Everything on it is good, it’s a perfect sequel to the first game, with a better gameplay and a huge improvement in AI. Loved it.

    En fin yo ame este juego a nivel emocional, de historia, jugabilidad,etc...
    Y lo que no entiendo es por qué a la gente no le gustó, solo porque mataron a Joel ? Me parece una estupidez y se sabía que en algún momento tendría que morir.
    Y si no es eso la verdad no entiendo ya UE tiene exelentes gráficos, es innovador con las mecánicas de juego, la historia es una cosa que uno nunca se habría imaginado(positivamente), y ese soundtrack de Santaolalla es el sello de calidad a parte de ser de los estudios con más dedicación en sus proyectos y por eso es es el mejor juego que jamás haya tenido una generación de videojuegos.
    De los únicos defectos con los que me tope fueron uno que otro Bugg y y que es un poco pausado pero en fin the last of us 2 es una obra maestra y los personajes que incluyeron yo los ame y los odie así que felicitaciones naughty dog    … Expand

The game is brutal, truthful, and i could see how it could make you feel very uncomfortable as a straight white dude. I want to rate a 9.5 because the game does feel like an extension of the first game, I can’t decide if this is a bad thing or not. It is true killing Joel sucked, I screamed at the TV. “No wtf” I actually did this a few times, I couldn’t set it down. I am Joel, I’d have done everything Joel did, he lives on in me. This is a story about hate and ugliness. Ellie loses EVERYTHING, she can even play guitar at the end. It’s true it’s not the story I wanted, that doesn’t make it a bad story. Being me, I don’t even want to see Ellie kiss someone, she’s like a child to me. How is it even possible that a video game can make me feel like that. Great work ND.… Expand

    1) we didnt empathize with her couse she killed our favorite character. what were you thinking?
    2) if you wanted to show how the good guy can be the bad one in another story, fine, let us play with her for one episode not the other FU*K half, that was such a TRAS*
    3) The end of the game was trash. i think that all wanted revenge. Ellie lost a lot of people, friends, the person she loves and lost her "dad". just for forgiving the one that caused that. TRASH.
    4) I would have preferred a shorter game but with the in-depth story of Ellie´s, than a long game with a character that I did not like and let them kill me because I did not care

    BUT NOT OF THE GAME WAS BAD
    i loved ellie and how she grew up, how she finally cared about someone and let her in. (talking in a romantic ways).

На настоящий момент пользовательский рейтинг у игры 3,7 и я очень надеюсь, что когда волнаОдна из лучших игр, в которые мне доводилось играть. Gameplay is excellent , vastly improved from first game , Best Graphics on This Console Generation,

    This is definitely not a game for children

    It wraps up the last of us story quite neatly, this game completes its predecessor, it gives weight to the decisions made in the last game even more, its a tale of consequences, redemption & the path to salvation

    This game challenges the player in ways I dont think they've ever been challenged, in most games, you're the protagonist, the lines are clear, theres very often no greys, no conflict of morality, often missions are search & destroy with no after thought for the death of any of the characters

    I like how everything is given significance, you wander through an abandoned home and find the letters of the deceased, either missing or turned into a zombie, one scene or moment that really struck me, was when Abby had to retrieve medical supplies from the basement of the hospital in Seattle, prior to entering, she's told that in the early days, that the hospital was ground zero for the outbreak, finding the letters of the people there, the dread of isolation, the longing for loved ones and to be free of quarantine, reminds of this time we're currently in, the covid pandemic of 2020, its a reminder that theres a person behind it all, zombie/scar/WLF

    Theres a feeling in the pit of my soul I can't quite name, its the feeling of peace after you've been crying, that silence, when after your sadness or pain is gone, the feeling that your body is just at peace

    It was a quite a journey, I feel, for me personally, its taken the edge of my cynicism, if only just a little

    The ending was bittersweet, its like a coen brothers ending, I feel most will try and grasp for happiness to find it not there, and in doing so, they'll have miss the point unfortunately

    I think, this will be a game I'll revisit, when I need to remember that, we'll be okay, despite the trials & tribulations of our lives    … Expand

En todos los aspectos demuestra cuidado de detalles; ya sean graficos, jugabilidad, historia... sobre todo en la historia. Pues a pesar de ver que los supuestos "fans" lo critiquen demasiado tienen que tener en cuenta que sin algunas muertes como la de joel esta historia no existiría e incluso no existiria el juego. Yo considero que quedó muuy bien nuevamente en todos los aspectos. Y con respecto al final tambien muy criticado... pues considero que no tienen un buen criterio pues lo que el final queria mostrar o lo que yo creo que los desarrolladores de Naughty Dog inc. Querian enseñar son 3 puntos: la venganza no lleva a nada bueno y es un ciclo infinito, el mundo no gira en torno a un personaje (de ahi el uso de abby y ellie pues muestran por las cosas que cada uno pasa y que no solo a alguien le ocurren cosas malas) y el tercer punto es el instinto de supervivencia y que no se mata por lujo, si no por necesidad de mantenerte con vida ( como podemos apreciar en este vasto mundo ). Con lo anterior dicho me refiero a que ellie al final fue inteligente y prefirio dejar ir a joel y a sus miedos y finalizar este ciclo de venganza en vez de continuar con este derramamiento de sangre y perdidas innecesarias.… Expand

    I enjoyed the game and I think the plot matches perfectly with flashbacks and present.
    The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that you play too much with this character and not Ellie, but it’s fine.
    Just don’t judge the game for what happened and try to understand the story.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
