    So far I'm about seven hours into the game, and I'd say that if it keeps up at this pace, I could see myself liking it more than the first. I should also say I'm a huge fan of the first game. It might be the best narrative in a game I've played. So possibly liking the sequel more is saying a lot.

    I'm mostly giving this a 10 to counteract those that are obviously review bombing without    So far I'm about seven hours into the game, and I'd say that if it keeps up at this pace, I could see myself liking it more than the first. I think most of the low reviews are from people who just play until that sad and twisted scene but I don't understand humanity... People want video games to be more realistic and sad but true that's life... In a blink of an eye you're gone. I know, some people even claim that Joel is te best character ever written but be honest what end do yo think will suit better? This is not uncharted people! The dark world that Druckmann created is wild and brutal so that's what he and his team still gives you in this masterpiece. Game of thrones did this many times before and I don't remember this kind of bombing. And about the complaints about this game being "woke" man... Look around you... The World is changing in a accelerated way we need to move with it good characters don't need to be of some specific sexual orientation some people may say that's not the matter but I read a lot of comments throwing hate to Abby saying a lot of homofobic things... And that's messed up. Just to end this personal opinion I may say it's groundbreaking the work and effort Naughty Dog put into this it's truly amazing and I didn't spect less from that monster of entertainment. And one last message to the people who has doubts about the game : leave all prejudices behind and most of all leave behind all the people who's trying to mess up the game. the game is truly amazing...     Don't listen to all the butthurt people out there. They're just mad because they got the game spoiled. It's hard to match up to the first game as it was already perfect, but this game is still tons of fun! The graphics and music and outstanding and I loved every second of it!

It's mainly a bunch of soy boi betas with an outstanding amount of Cheeto dust in their neck-beards, that can't wrap their mind around a game studio not giving them the EXACT story they wanted. Do yourself a favor and play/judge the game on your own, don't let these virgin cucks that watch 4k lolli hentai trying to edge themselves into the last possible second while they missionary their silicone wife as their mom pulls into the driveway with their 3rd abusive step-dad sway your opinion.     You know you have a bad story when it uses the death of pregnant characters and animal cruelty to prove its point. The game starts with a contrivance and takes the amazing characters from the previous game in an uninteresting direction. The plot remains a miserable slog with rare moments of letter .The dialogue is pretty bad too and the 30 or so hours of my gameplay were mostlyYou know you have a bad story when it uses the death of pregnant characters and animal cruelty to prove its point. This game **** up the basic rules of storytelling , the thing that made the first one a masterpiece. It shows you violent actions and death of characters first then followed it up by flashbacks fleshing out their history , lovers, friends and consequences of your action. This approach does nothing to sympathise them and takes away from all major story moments of the game. The game gets intense and exciting a few times during combat especially against the first few encounters with the scars a human faction in Seattle. But otherwise, the combat is really uninteresting and seem oddly restricting and old gen even at the end of this one,.Ahh...yes the decisions these characters make are bad at best laughable, and contrived at worst. I would praise its sound design , level design and graphics but you already know its good it's an Nd game after all. But the major strings that hold the game being Its story and considering what came before, this game is definitely a disappointment… Expand

    Best game of the year until now, but nothing new about gameplay. Naughty dogs repeated the same formula from others games like uncharted. The game is better like a movie than a game. The direction could win some oscars instead best gameplay of the year. Sadly we have to see a lot of haters giving bad reviews for nothing.

    I'll make it short. Don't listen to the people and play it for yourself. As a fan of the first game that knew about leaks, I was still optimistic about the part 2. Result? I was more pleased than expected.
    In my opinion, this game require open mind and interest in inner parts of the humans (No, not organs. I mean psychological components) to be able to fully appreciate the story and    I'll make it short. Don't listen to the people and play it for yourself. As a fan of the first game that knew about leaks, I was still optimistic about the part 2. Result? I was more pleased than expected.
    In my opinion, this game require open mind and interest in inner parts of the humans (No, not organs. I mean psychological components) to be able to fully appreciate the story and themes that are explored here.

    A masterpiece. The story is a hard to swallow pill but reflective and so far extremely captivating. The details are incredible, not to mention the amazing graphics. Give it a go, instead of mindlessly trying to corrupt the review score of this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite having some issues with the story, and the unfortunate demise of Joel (unfortunate, but definitely necessary). After playing around 17hours so far, I can honestly say that this is a brilliant game. I can admit that other than Ellie, I haven’t really felt for the characters in this title like I did in the first. Even the bad guys made me pity them in the first game. But that does not mean that there is nothing that keeps you emotionally attached, far from it.
    All in all, a stupendous game that falls short of the brilliance of its predecessor by a hairs width.    … Expand

    It's an absolutely Masterpiece. I love to play and I love how Naughty Dog play with the balance good/bad. I hope a sequel because Ellie deserve it.
    I'm just a little upset on the number of hours on the screen of joël but we get used to it, we move forward.

The brutality of humankind is never ending, always reaching. Honestly one of my favorite parts of the game was Ellie's Journal. Fantastic writing that gave great depth into her character. Now with Abby's purpose to show the viewer/player that Ellie and Abby are not good nor bad. We are all **** killing other ****. I will be playing this again and again because the characters and story are addicting and I just love the tone. Endure and survive are out the window… Expand

It’s gameplay does not differ much from its predecessor apart from a dodge button and a jump button, my only complaint with the game is the story the first half where you get to play as Ellie where you try to get revenge for the murder of Joel is its best part but after you kill Nora the game does a 180 and you play as Abby arguably the worst character in the game. Not only that she kills Joel Ellie father and probably the player’s favorite character. Playing as Abby was unneeded and kills the pacing which is the worst part of the game there’s fun parts here and there but it only picks up again when you take back control of Ellie the ending could have been so much better than it was. All of the buildup of killing Abby, Ellie finally gets her chance and she backs out because she wanted to stop the cycle I guess. The ending would have worked so much better if she killed Abby and came back and realized she lost everything for petty revenge. In the end this game could have been so much better but the developers wanted to try to humanize Abby which ultimately ruined half of the game other than that this game is a pretty good and I would recommend it for hardcore fans of the series.… Expand

    A spectacular game with great twists in the plot, an impeccable writing by Neil Druckmann, although it seems there are unnecessary moments for the construction of characters, in the end everything fits together in a perfect way.

Nem az a lényeg, hogy mindenképp meg kell felelni a közönségnek. Ezt a történetet akarták elmesélni és meg is tették. Ha mindig meg kell felelni az elvárásoknak akkor lesz a soha véget nem érő Halo típusú story.     No spoilers here. Almost everything about the game is great, graphics, gameplay, acting.
    But the story.....if feels undeveloped. the characters deserve better than this, more personal growth, depth and development.
    More like the first game. This game really had me in tears but for the wrong reasons.

People have wrong expectations and give ratings that are not very reasonable. Games are a Medium of Art, like movies.     Absolutely no idea how you can possibly rate this 0 or 7 it’s either too scary for this triggered generation or there parents won’t tell them play it. It’s a solid 9 or 10 ! graphics are next gen, gameplay is better than the first one, only critic for the game is a lot of cut scenes. It’s set in Seattle maybe that’s why these trolls are so upset.

    despite of all negatives, it is still a solid game. I actually liked the story line that depicts the hate vividly. not too sure what all the other people expect in plot, all beloved one live happily ever after?

Yes the game has some mistakes such as playing as Abby, to me playing as Abby is actually the only mistake that I think they did but i know that most people are angry at Joel’s death and they wanted Naughty Dog to do right by him, but his death makes total sense and here’s why: Joel killed so many people in his life including people that he knew and yet after all the bad things that he did there has to be some consequences and even if he died peacefully just like how Lee from the walking dead it would still make Ellie mad but she won’t be as mad as if they brutally killed him and by that she would seek revenge whatsoever, as for the ending people are mad because Ellie didn’t kill Abby first of all how would do that do any good to Ellie? She has to break the cycle! if she just killed Abby then eventually few years later Lev would revenge Abby’s death and would kill Ellie all that is gonna keep going over and over with no point it’s literally an endless cycle so Ellie had to break it. But I just want to clear out something and that is that they could have given us a better story and i agree with that but we gotta work with what we’ve got and what we’ve got is good and makes total Sense but people are too afraid to admit it.… Expand

I greatly enjoyed the game throughout and the graphics were amazing, however I feel that there was a few points it was lacking as it would have been much better to give you the option to kill Abby or not and I feel that they forced us to do the worse option of the two, other than that Joel's death cause which everyone is complaining about was expected, although people may not like the way that he died I feel that it conveyed the emotion of his death well, I can see why people are upset about it but it's sad to see him go… Expand

    To play The Last of Us Part 2. you probably want to make sure you finished the first game because every element of it (minus the multiplayer) is developed and expanded upon here. This is a masterpiece that’s *deeply* invested in the first game’s world, it’s story and gameplay and character development.

    Naughty Dog brought a lot of the mechanics of Uncharted 4 into this title and uses them to stunning effect. If I had to guess, these mechanics are part of why they’re not releasing a multiplayer with the game, as they significantly change the combat mechanics of the first title in an utterly thrilling and gripping way.

    While it’s no open world, it really feels like there’s a lot to explore all the time and I can’t wait to replay this one and see if there actually were multiple paths, because I’d certainly feels like I could have made different choices at various points along the way.

    This is fantastic work at every level, an utterly worthy sequel to one of the most transformative games I’ve ever played. It’s the game I’ve been waiting for ever since I feel fell in love with TLOU. I can’t wait to see what Naughty Dog has in store for the multiplayer idea they teased us with.    … Expand

Death which is sacrificial, in the arms of a loved one, uttering poignant and emotional final words. The death of Joel strips away the ideals, and presents death in its most horrific form - brutal, sudden and helpless. The desire for a romanticised portrayal of death is such that the response of many to the death of Joel has been one of anger. This of course is justified in the context of the game, Naughty Dog wants you to share the burning desire for vengeance felt by Ellie. Many are instead aiming this anger at the game. Joel's death appears to be the foremost criticism of many user reviews. However, The Last of Us Part 2 is not a fan pandering safe sequel where Joel and Ellie go on another road trip, with Joel dying a Hollywood style death at the stories climax, saving Ellie's life in the process. If that is what you expected or wanted, then you clearly weren't paying attention during the first game. The Last of Us contained the deaths of several children, attempted rape, cannibalism and torture. It concluded with a man murdering a hospital full of people who are trying to save man-kind, in order to save a girl who he knew if given the choice would sacrifice herself willingly, causing him to consistently lie to her about events. The death of Joel is merely a continuation of the trend of post-apocalyptic brutality displayed in the first game and if that is something you find hard to stomach then this game is probably not one you will enjoy. It is certainly not a valid reason for labelling the game as bad, as many have done. I also find the abundance of people criticising the game for having a political agenda because it contains homosexual and trans characters to be a sad reflection on many. Their sexuality has little to no bearing on the story and serves to make the game a more accurate representation of our diverse society. It is entirely positive that we see more characters that display the diversity of human beings and the reaction to it simply reveals people's prejudices.

    The story's genius is in taking you willingly on a path of vengeance with Ellie before turning the tables and showing you the perspective of Abby who has just as much justification for her revenge on Joel as Ellie does on her. It creates a villain only to show how they are no different to our protagonist by shifting the perspective about halfway through the game. The narrative is not without flaws. The progression of the story at times slows too much to the point of feeling like a drag. In these areas the same plot points could have been reached and explored in a more concise manner. The ending is thought provoking and will spark much debate, and I am still toiling with why exactly Ellie chose to spare Abby. The fact that the ending left me in such an emotional void is a testament to just how bleak of a tale Naughty Dog created. The game left me bereft of emotional satisfaction, which is exactly how I believe the developers wanted to make the audience feel. The voice acting is top notch as usual in Naughty Dog games. Overall I thought the story was gritty, dark, sad and utterly brilliant.
    The gameplay is instantly familiar to anyone who played the first game. It feels frantic, intense and real. Human enemy AI is frustratingly intelligent, communicating, coordinating and flanking. Infected sections feel more like other zombie games, I would liken them to a fast paced Resident Evil game. There is not a lot which is new here, the gameplay is more of a refinement of the first games offering. This is not a necessarily a negative as I very much enjoyed the gameplay in both titles but it is not without flaws. On several occasions I found myself remaining undetected through large environments filled with enemies only to be unable to find the exit in order to progress and thus was discovered. This made much of my successful sneaking feel wasted, which ultimately felt unsatisfying. Some clearer indication of where to go in some larger areas would have been a welcome feature. I sometimes also found shooting some larger human enemies in the head would not kill them in one shot which I found to be a bizarre design choice. Another issue that occurred with infected enemies was that they would trigger a bomb I had laid in another location, causing all other infected to run to me, despite me being wholly in cover and away from the location of the explosion. I also actually preferred the feeling of melee combat in the first game, it felt more satisfying and incorporated the environment into the kill more often.
    Overall the game is excellent- neither the story or gameplay are perfect but their positives dwarf the flaws. The Last of Us 2 presents some of the most realistic combat, stunning visuals and accomplished story telling ever in a video game.    … Expand

    Such a great follow up to the original. The story goes to places you wouldn't expect and forces you to deal with the choices made in the first game. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay just as tight if not better than the first. Don't sit on this one.
