    I cannot comprehend the hate this game is getting. The graphics are the best in the console, and it’s a technical masterpiece that perfects everything the first game got right. The atmosphere, animations and the details are masterful, and by seeing this I am unable to understand the people that claim the devs don’t care about this franchise. Because of these aspects, the game is nowhere between a 0 or a 3, as I keep seeing in reviews. But let’s talk about the story. I do think it’s a bit weaker than its predecessor (which I consider unfair to judge now, given that Part I has become a legendary game in the PS community), but it’s still more engaging that 90% of the games out there. Very few games have made me feel such strong emotions as Part II has. It’s been a week since the credits rolled, and I still can’t get the game out of my mind. And yes, Part I is a very important game to me. I’ve beaten it many times and it’s definitely on my top 3. There was no point in this game where I felt like the original game and its characters were disrespected in any way, and even if I had I would not have any right to demand how this game should have been, as many are. These are Naughty Dog’s characters, not ours.
    But the game takes risks, and I completely understand that the way the story went is not what some were expecting. But for many others this has been a wonderful and emotional ride, and sadly our voice is not as heard.
    Anyway, although not being perfect (a bit too long I’d say), not many games have been as special as this one for me, and that adds a lot of value, so there goes my 10. The Last of Us Part II is not the game we expected, but I really think it’s the masterpiece that was needed.    … Expand

    Finished the game, all aspects on top, from the plot to the gameplay and graphics. One of the best games of this generation along with RDR2.

The first thing you need to understand is that I only just played through both the first game (Remastered) and the 2nd game for the first time back to back this month with the launch of the PS5 (Yes, I was able to preorder one when they went live in September and I got the digital edition console on November 12th). I Played through Part I through the PS+ collection and I bought Part II for half price during the Black Friday sales on the PlayStation store.

    Unlike the vast majority of the people who posted their 1/10 reviews 2 hours after the game came out because they (SPOILER ALERT!) killed off Joel very early on and couldn't be bothered to play the rest to actually find out why she killed him. I actually just finished playing through Part II from beginning to end. I went into both games completely blind apart from a few key details I already knew due to how much of a phenomenon they became. For example, I already knew that Ellie was immune going into the 1st game and I already knew that Joel dies in the Part II due to the leaks earlier in the year before the game released.

    First, my brief thoughts on the 1st game... absolutely loved it overall. I loved the dynamic between Joel and Ellie, the story was fantastic and the gameplay was solid. I would give it a solid 8/10.

    Now for Part II. First, I would like to tell you what I loved about the game. The music was incredible. The graphics were some of the best I have ever seen, the voice acting and the mo-cap was award worthy, which is great because both Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey were both nominated for The Game Awards and they are both totally deserving. The flashback with Joel and Ellie in the dinosaur/space museum was my favourite part of the game. I know some people hated her, but I loved the character of Abby. Her killing Joel because he was the one who killed her father, the man... the Dr. that was going to do the surgery on Ellie to create a vaccine for the virus was absolutely genius in my opinion. The gameplay was better and more refined than the 1st game. I also do not have a problem with how Abby killed Joel considering what Joel did to her family, that being her dad and the rest of the Fireflies. Honestly, what she did to Joel reminded me of What Negan did to Glenn and Abraham on the Walking Dead. He killed two beloved characters on that show, but prior to that, Rick and his group sneaked into one of Negan's bases in the middle of the night and murdered everyone in there IN THEIR SLEEP! If I was Negan or Abby in their situation, I probably would have done the same thing. I think the only reason that people had a problem with it is because of her gender and how she looked. She did not look like a typical female because she was ripped. What the **** is wrong with that? If you were living in a post-apocalyptic world with barely any food and constantly walking around, travelling and killing infected, I bet you would get a little jacked over time too.

    The game itself, because of the story and how it is played out is very depressing and difficult to play at times (especially having to kill dogs, that was not pleasant). This certainly was not a fun family game to play like Mario or even the Uncharted series, also from Naughty Dog, but because of how good the story, characters and gameplay were, it kept me invested and motivated to finish it.

    The only thing I would say I didn't like about the game was the ending. Firstly, it dragged on for way too long (bit like the 3rd Lord of the Rings movie) and also, Ellie left her wife (I assume Dina was her wife by that point) and child (technically not her biological child but whatever) behind to pursue and end things with Abby, and she ultimately just lets her go. That made no sense to me, but hey, maybe that was a setup for Part III, who knows.

    I also, unlike many other people who played this game, am not so insecure in my own self, in that I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with Ellie's romantic relationship with Dina. I think it was very well written and acted, especially the joke where Dina tells Ellie she is pregnant and says "Don't worry, it;s not yours". I know plenty of people in my own personal life who are gay or lesbian and it does not bother me in the slightest. Anybody who says that Naughty Dog or other companies like Lucasfilm for example have no interest in making good content and only care about pushing and SJW narrative should rally be left to turn into infected.

    In conclusion, I actually liked this game a tad more than the 1st one. If it wasn't for the ending, I would give it a perfect 10, but my rating is a 9/10. Absolutely phenomenal game. Naughty Dog truly are one of the best in the business and I cannot wait to see what they can do with the hardware of the PS5. Playing through both games back to back within a week was a surreal experience, but I am so glad that I finally did it. I will be absolutely shocked if this game does not win Game of the Year.    … Expand

    Despite what you may have read, most of the negativity isn't because gamers are bigots. No spoilers, but pretty early on a controversial plot point occurs and that turned a ton of people off from the game. As expected, almost none of these people played the game considering the amount of misinformation. Just finshed The Last Of Us Part II and it is one of the best games I have ever played, one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, but still not better then the first. The visuals are astounding, the best I have ever seen in a video game and they are the most realistic video game visuals I have ever seen they look like they are real. The performances from Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey were exceptional, they gave such emotionally powerful performances, also Troy Baker's performance was great he gave some well need peace to a pretty chaotic and crazy game. Ian Alexander, Shannon Woodward, Patrick Fugit, Stephen Chang, Alejandro Edda, and Ashly Burch gave terrific supporting performances. The writing was very well done and made me feel so many emotions like a good movie or TV show but I felt it was a little overly tragic. The character development was remarkable especially with Ellie and Abby. The LGBTQ+ representation with Ellie and Dina's relationship and the transgender character Lev who was also played by a transgender actor was amazing but some of the writing of Lev's story was questionable like how almost all of his suffering and tragedy in his life was because of his gender identity and the villains using his dead name. The gameplay was phenomenal especially the new weapons like the crossbow, the silencer, quiet and silenced weapons, and the prone position crawling. The music is outstanding and so beautifully done I especially loved the song sang by Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, the end credits, and Ashley Johnson singing Take On Me. This was definitely and A+ video game.… Expand

    The story is fine. Yes it may not be as good as the first one but that does not make the game any less worthy of praise. The gameplay is immaculate, the graphical attention to detail is stunning and the inclusion of more semi-open world areas (from the uncharted format) really compliment part 2 of this game series. Reviewed by a regular guy without deep, underlying issues.

Техническое исполнение этих аспектов в TLOU2 - великолепное, достаточно просто начать сравнивать их с другими играми из жанра.
    На счёт сюжета наверное я сейчас скажу то что лежит на поверхности, в TLOU2 вообще нет положительных персонажей с точки зрения морали и этики. Там все заслуживают смерти. НО у нас есть эмоциональная привязанность к персонажам и мы сами пытаемся оправдать их поступки. Вы наверное могли понять по запискам в игре что все те кто были "адекватными", умерли в первый год. A este juego le doy 9.6 por que la verdad me gusto mucho solo que tiene problemas y uno de ello es muy grande como la muerte de joel su muerte esta mal escrita es super forzada y la verdad cuando la vi me quede decepcionado sin ganas de seguir jugando el juego pero despues segui ya que habia invertido ya mucho dinero por ese juego y la verdad lo demas me encanto hay otra parte de la historia que no me gusto mucho que fue un flashback de abby la parte de el acuario me aburrio pero en cuanto al personaje me gusto al principio la odie y al final me termino gustando de echo al principio de la campaña de ella estaba como okey esta bien pero ya denme a ellie quiero ya jugar con ellie despues se me paso y la campaña de abby me gusto muchisimo a excepcion de la escena que ya comente y ellie un personaje que me gustaba al final me termino callendo mal y las ultimas 7 horas del juego me encantaron encontre muchas emociones ahi es el juego que mas emociones me a sacado en cuanto al gameplay y los graficos es espectacular naughty dog hizo un gran trabajo ahi en conclusion me encanto el juego puede que hubiera estado a la altura de 1 pero por los errores que comente para mi no lo estuvo y la verdad lo recomiendo.

The Last Of Us 2 is a game faithful to the mechanics presented in the first game, but improved. The game is incredibly beautiful, with ultra realistic graphics, especially on the faces of the characters. Now about the history line, I can say that it is very good if you understand that the game is about people, and that people make mistakes, especially when they are moved by emotion or traumatized , and that in this game there are no hero characters or villains, do not play this game thinking that you will control a fair and innocent character. I think the lack of this notion brought all these bad reviews. So considering that, I belive there are two big mistakes in the script: first of all, the way Abby finds Joel pretty quickly in the same day they found Jackson it's very convenient, it didn't cost anything to spend a little more time and make this part more realistic. second: the time spent on Abby with the kids, I feel like they were only put in the game to make Abby look like a good person, and it makes sense because the game wants us to feel empathy with her, but I don't think we needed that much time to do so, they could include more of her relationship with her friends, more about her time with the fireflies. Last of all, the way Tommy treats Ellie and Dina when he comes with a clue about Abby doesn't fit the character and Ellie threatening Lev at the end to, even tho she was desperate and traumatized, I don't think Ellie would do that, just look at her reaction when she finds out she killed a pregnant woman.… Expand

The game took me just under a week to finish (29hrs) then I went back for the platinum (extra 20 hrs). Had an amazing time with this game. The graphics and gameplay are phenomenal. The gameplay is balanced between story, combat and exploration. IfOutstanding game. First off, ignore the fake reviews on here, theres a lot. Had an amazing time with this game. The graphics and gameplay are phenomenal. The gameplay is balanced between story, combat and exploration. If you aren't fan of one or the other, you can literally skip it one way or another. For example, most of the combat encounters can be skipped by stealthily crossing and escaping through a door. Should you go guns blazing, it can get very brutal, some of the most over the top but realistic gore I have ever seen in a game. People are bashing this game because of the story not living up to their expectations, I new the leaks but never watched any clips. I was a little shocked at the direction, but not as upset as some fans of the original. I still went and pre ordered and was not disappointed. I didnt find the story or writing bad, maybe the way certain things played out could have been different, but they are what they are and I can live with that. If you're open minded about the story telling, you'll really enjoy this game.… Expand

    I could criticise that the start & finish to combat sequences are too certain. There's not much surprise encounters when looting etc. Game is like now it's fighting part and we shoot them and our characters says literally oh we killed all the guys and now it's looting part. It could be better if we were on the alarm all the time reflecting the environment. Not much a downside but yeah..

    I must say I didn't see any spoilers beforehand except the critical one at the beginning. When I finished the game, I was satisfied with my feelings and the journey I have been through.

    It slows down at times, feels too stretched. It lacks some quality and I must admit that it's somewhat disappointing. I'm not talking about like all the angry fans about creative decisions by writers, this is their story. They've chosen a story to tell and I liked it, just not as good as I expected.

    There could be other ways to continue our beloved duo's journey and it would be more appealing for the fans. They have chosen a a bold approach and I respect that.

    BTW, there's not much SJW thing to worry about. The things there are only adds to the story in a good way.

    Overall, this is definitely one of the best games of this generation and a MUST PLAY for all the gamers.    … Expand

    Great game, graphics are top tier. Gameplay is smooth and fluid. AI is the best I've seen in this type of game. And the story isn't awful like many hage been trying to say.

    I loved this game. The opinions on it are so controversial because in my opinion people don’t get it. They didn’t want the story to go this way but that’s the point neither the characters wanted any of this to happen. The game makes you angry at characters thinking they’re just terrible persons before showing you that they’re not that different from you and in their eyes you’re just asI loved this game. I just think people expected a whole other Joel and Ellie adventure while Ellie discovers the events of the 1rst game which in my opinion would have been a huge mistake because the same thing with a few tweaks always end up worse than the original. Best example is Terminator 2 and 3. The 3 is the same with a few tweaks which makes you think: meh not bad but it’s basically the same thing

Deception in trailers, say thank you to the whistleblowers from YouTube, they try to guess the plot from advertising, as movies, as well as games, and TLoU2 is no exception, the developers intentionally add changed scenes to the trailer, so that you would not guess what will be in the game – a forced measure! Joyle's death at the beginning of the game ... did they merge the character? Don't forget that the characters live in a dangerous world, as Tess said from the first part, " Luck can't last forever!» Forget the expression leaked character, this does not apply to TLoU2… You could have made a different story, you can, but the writers did this… This game can be put 9 out of 10, but because of the most biased ratings = 0 well, this.... I joined onto the narrative about how Neil Druckmann ruinned the game, and refused to actually play it. I did not want to ackolwedge this game as a canonical sequel to the first game.

    It was until recently after finish    When the game came out, I looked at reviews, and saw that lots of people hated it, I got spoiled, and disliked the spoiled plot/character and jumped onto the hate wagon. I joined onto the narrative about how Neil Druckmann ruinned the game, and refused to actually play it. I did not want to ackolwedge this game as a canonical sequel to the first game.

    It was until recently after finish another playing-through of the first game, I decided to finally give Part 2 a try, my opinion has completely changed after I'm done, and I feel sorry to have easily bought into the hate narrative without actually experiencing it.

    On paper, without context, the plot of this game can be "hate-able", the keyword here is "without context". Putting everything into the game's context and execution, it actually make sense. The characters are very well-written, they are human, they don't make optimal decisions, they are influenced by their human emotions. It is not an easy game to play, emotionally speaking. But it is an artistic piece to experience, you can tell that the team put lots of heart into crafting this game, it made me reflect, and think about the theme this game explored. That's what a good piece of artwork should do, to chanllenge and provoke.

    There are definitely moments where some characters' action feels off and out-of-character, those areas could be executed better, hence it's not a 10/10 for me. But the overall quality of this game is great.

    I recommend this game to people who are interested, whether you like it or hate it, it's a worth-experiencing game, the kind that we probably won't get many in the upcoming future, judging by how un-ready the audiences are at accepting something different.    … Expand

    No point in comparing this to any expectations or the prequel. On its own TLOU2 is an experience all on its own and while the story might have its critics - to not experience it to judge for yourself would be an absolute travesty.

I didnt mind playing as Abbey as much, I felt the worst for owens character, The end of the game was not satisfying, Ellie proceeds to make stupid decision after stupid decision and she honestly ends up almost the villian of the story. Overall tho I still had a blast ( for the most part) playing this especially the earl sections. A lot of heart and love went into this. The story ends up a bit of a mess but its not awful by any means and some early scenes even brought a tear to my eye.… Expand

To not spoil anything this game is not about survival. I didn't love the game in the first 5 hours, but the next 23 it took me to complete it easily made up for it.

    I played the game on Hard difficulty and found the combat did not provide a lot of consequences to dieing as the restore points were very generous. It has been a while since I played the original but felt like the original provided a lot more of an intense experience.

    The environments, characters, and storytelling are the real winners here and reason I rate this game a 9.5/10 (round up).    … Expand

Naughty Dog really hit it out of the park as far as graphics, character movement, and attention to detail. It truly is one of the very best games I've ever played. Much better than most big budget movies. This game kind of drags on. At one point I thought it was the ending but it kept going for many more hours.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just finished the game and I think it was awesome. I enjoyed the characters and the story. And I thought it was great to be able to play the "bad girl" too. I also enjoyed the violence and the fact that revenge lead nowhere in the end.

    The only story part I did not like was that Lev acted like a child and indirectly killed his mother and sister. It was like in those movies where you bring in a stupid character that does stupid things so that the story gets interesting.

    I hope the producers and devs do not get discouraged by the bad user reviews to create more such ambivalent and mature games.    … Expand

И в это сложно ,и многим не хочется поверить, но в этом и была задумка игры. Все неоднозначные события и задумывались неоднозначными и вызывающими раздражение. Через это раздражение и происходит главное эмоциональное вовлечение в игру. Нилу Дракману получилось сделать очень интересную игру по своей драматургической концепции, она сложна в понимании, она сложна в эмоциональном спектре, который должен прочувствовать игрок. Каждый, кто просто играл вовлечено и вдумчиво, стараясь эмпанировать героям, получит от всей игры огромное количество эмоций, а под конец будет сидеть до конца титров с раздумьями над темами, поднятыми в игре. Моя оценка 10 баллов, хотя я бы все же поставил 9.5. Как по мне игра затянута во многих моментах. Возможно нужно было больше времени дать Эбби, меньше Элли вначале. Так же по мелочам в игре есть косяки,как технические, так и геймплейные, но о них говорить слишком долго и они незначительны.. Эта игра на совершенно ином уровне, чем все другие игры, разве только RDR2 и Uncharted 4 от той же студии могут с ней сравниться. И я рад что есть такие игры!… Expand

    Minha recomendação é para pessoas com mente aberta e maduras, que tolerem o gore, porque ele esta bastante presente no jogo, mas a violência não é forçada, ela existe dentro daquele contexto porque a história leva a esse ponto. E sobre as críticas a homossexualidade, religião, aborto, drogas, etc, não influenciam na narrativa, são temas que estão presentes mas como pano de fundo, é apenas um background que faz parte dentro do contexto social, e não como agenda política como pessoas ignorantes e com mente fechada para novas experiências não foram capazes de absorver o melhor desse jogo, meus parabéns a Naughty Dog e espero novos games com a mesma imersão e qualidade!    … Expand

Majority of the negativity stems from the rather brutal killing of Joel, first part of the game. It was a shock to see, but it had such an emotional impact I was totally engrossed in its story and how Ellie would avenge his death. After the events of the first game and the decision that Joel made that subsequently doomed mankind of all hope, did people really think he'd be able to continue without any enemies, completely unscathed? It's impossible. As much as I love Joel as a character, the way the story plays out makes sense and has such weight to it, I never felt hard done by in anyway. Abby, the character who killed Joel is actually a great character and her reasons are justified. Ellie is no saint, even more so further into the game.

    Overall I think they knocked it out of the park with this. It's just a shame a lot of people that have reviewed negatively aren't mature enough to understand the games direction.    … Expand

    Its a damn near flawless game, from voice acting, graphics, action, gameplay overall visual and sound production. the only major thing holding it back from being a 10 is the story line. its just okay and sometimes its not all that compelling other than a few shocking moments.

At first this seems like you're playing a bad dream and you're waiting and hoping to wake up from it. If you remain in this mindset and don't think critically then you WILL hate the direction Naughty Dog have taken. If you can think critically however it all will make sense at the end although you may still have some conflicting emotions. Remind yourself that the world of Last of Us is absolutely brutal and cruel and the story decisions made by Naughty Dog reflect this reality. There are no free passes in the Last of Us apocalypse. Although I do wish one free pass was given....

    The gameplay itself is spot on and a perfect refinement of the first game. What surprised me the most was the sheer size of the game. Just when you think it's going to end it keeps going and going resulting in 25 hours plus of gameplay - which is great value for money! Developers such as Capcom with their abysmally short 4 hour Resident Evil 3 "remake" which sells for the same price as The Last Of Us Part II have been put on notice. As for the graphics they are absolutely incredible and are the best seen on PlayStation 4. Naughty Dog has given the console a beautiful send off by unlocking every drop of the PlayStation 4's potential as the generation draws to a close. I played on a PS4 Pro on a 65" HDR OLED television and I was regularly transfixed by the photorealistic graphical fidelity and physics. The HDR implementation is subtle but very effective creating nice contrast ratios. The game renders at 30fps 1440p on PS4 Pro and 30fps 1080p on base PS4. Sound design is also amazing. I highly recommend playing the first game before jumping into The Last of Us Part II as so you'll have the complete experience. Overall you simply owe it to yourself if you're a PlayStation 4 owner to play The Last of Us series. Controversy aside, I highly recommend The Last of Us Part II. It is a harrowing, emotional and brutal experience much like life itself.

    8/10 only because I wish story was not as unforgiving and savage as it was to a character from the first game....    … Expand

    A harrowing but incredible experience. I loved every minute of this game. Naughty dog has crafted a masterpiece and achieved the impossible task of making a game better than the first. It’s also the most gorgeous game I have ever seen. The detail is exceptional. The story and it’s characters were complex and well written. Puedes encarar los combates de muchas maneras, incluso puedes intentar pasar por las zonas de enemigos sin enfrentarte a todos o ninguno. I will address 1 thing people are saying, they are saying it's riddled with plot-holes. It is not. I have played the game through 2.5 times total 52 hours. There aren't any MAJOR plot holes and have yet to notice even tiny ones. Every character action makes sense. Those of you saying that Joel would not go with Abby did not play the first game. He did the EXACT same with Henry and Sam. When a character is in the middle of a blizzard, with a horde of infected chasing them, they do whatever they have to do, similarly to being in the middle of a city hunting you down (Pittsburgh in Part 1) Is it more in character to be hostile to people you are FORCED to be with while you wait out a blizzard and horde? Or do you try to be friendly to a group of people that outnumber you and are actually pretty decent people prior to finding out that Joel is well, joel Miller.

    There are valid criticisms for this game, there really are, but god if most of them aren't just people using buzzwords they don't understand to "criticize" the game.

    Play the game for yourself, if you liked the first game you owe it to yourself, and if you didn't, well it's a lot different than the first as well so I say give it a shot.

    I am only 5 hours in but had to put the rating in when I saw all the hate and fake reviews, the game is very emotional and the controls and animations are exceptional. I will put a final rating later but up to this point the game is masterfully crafted and beautiful. Avoid spoilers at any cost.
