    TLoU2 is a masterpiece, its really dark and full of emotions. There were times I didn't want to continue, but at the end I absolutely loved it. You have to experience the game for yourself and can't listen to the leaks or the 0/10 reviews. You can't even listen to the 10/10 reviews, experience it for yourself.

    Graphic: updated engine of Uncharted 4, that's good.
    World: a detailed world, better than in the first game.
    Script: I understand what Druckmann wanted to get, but sometimes it didn’t work (for me, cause, in my point of view, occasionally the script has illogical parts and looks weak). Flashbacks - the best part of the game script, bravo. Gameplay: is updated gameplay of the first game.    Graphic: updated engine of Uncharted 4, that's good.
    World: a detailed world, better than in the first game.

    Gameplay: is updated gameplay of the first game. Looks good, but a "survival" difficulty is not balanced as well as in the previous part: in the middle of the game I had the opportunity to play aggressive because I didn't face up to the situation where ammunition or supplies were running out.
    Hate and hype around the game: I wouldn't have noticed some things if the game hadn't been hated on the Internet. Think about it.

    I've just recently finished the game (took me 31 hours). I loved the gameplay and the music, the story was extremely dark, grim and depressive, but that's exactly what I expected from this universe. I enjoyed both of the campaigns, and was quite surprised by the fact that my approach towards one of the main characters completely shifted at the end (from hate to sympathy).
    The gameplay was    I've just recently finished the game (took me 31 hours). I loved the gameplay and the music, the story was extremely dark, grim and depressive, but that's exactly what I expected from this universe.     The gameplay was an improved version of the first game, and that was fine. The horror was there and after a few notable moments I've needed short breaks in order to put myself back together.
    The visuals are stunning (possibly the best looking PS4 game), and at some of the locations I've been just admiring the environment.
    Overall 9-/10 (some story choices were... questionable to say the least).    … Expand

Gameplay sure was improved from the previous game and is very enjoyable. Monster designs and challenges were very good also amazing boss fights. Now the story is brilliant. I can see why for many people was controversial but in my point of view was a unique and brilliant way to tell a revenge story were neither side is good or bad, both take wrong decisions and pay for it. Yes, the story is very bitter and it may be not for everyone's taste but I see the course of actions very logical and I can't see other variants of the story reaching such a ingenuous storytelling. It was a very unique experience for me as it's the best revenge story I saw. I am indeed sorry many people are not able to see what a game has to offer from a different perspective.… Expand

    Worth waiting this whole time!!! Every minute was pure gold. I really don’t understand complaining about the story. It was amazing! Simple, but not the abvious one, and emotionally touching. Thank you Naughty Dog for this adventure!

    Just play this game, have your own opinion about it, this game really worth it. You probably have a lot of questions and concerns about the story when it starts, but when it comes to it finish, everything clears and you finally understand why it all was designed that way.

From start to finish this game was unreal between the graffics to game play was just awesome , when you play as Abby after playing with Ellie and pretty much hating her for what she did to Joel it was very odd feeling that I never experienced in a video game ! 10/10 for me the hate from people who didn’t even play the whole game at the start was very odd !     After waiting 6+ years for a sequel I was both happy and sad with what was delivered. The game looks and plays beautiful! There were certain aspects of the game that were played out in the wrong order (in my opinion) . I think it would have been better to play the 2nd characters story role before being introduced to her and her relation to other characters in the game.     This game is one of the best games I have ever played in my life, it made me have most of the feelings, the story is incredible, the gameplay is great, and the graphics are certainly the best of the generation. When the game was over I was left with a void inside me, this game deserves all the best, Neil Druckmann's team, and the director himself, deserves a standing ovation. Incredible Game!

    I loved the first game and it was story-wise the best game I have ever played. Well, i had ever played. Part II blew my mind, both for the incredible story and for all the fine details and touches in the gameplay. It surpasses the orginal in almost all aspects. A great experience that in my opinion deserves the highest score. Just do yourself a favor and play it.

These are 2020 "snowflakes" who can't take the grim realities that would no doubt take place in a world subject to the horrors of TLOU2 TLOU2 is an absolute masterpiece. 30hours flew by amongst a story that grips from the outset. The storyline broke my heart and I absolutely loved it. Not every single story is gonna work out the way you want it to. The story revolved around the themes of revenge cycles and forgiveness and I believe the writers did a good job. I am so sick of people claiming that a storyline is bad just because a beloved character dies. The ending made sense, it just didn’t go the way some people expected it to, thus the bad reviews.     It was a great game that dealt with the struggles with death and revenge from two characters. Perspective plays a big role in this and it was nice to see the story from a different point of view. The game play was very fun and the combat was stellar. The Last of Us Part II also looks gorgeous!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Under normal circumstances, I would give this game a 9 but I really don't think it deserves all the hate it's getting. The gameplay is just really solid for a story-driven first-person shooter and I thought the story was amazing. At first, all the Abby chapters really put a sour taste in my mouth but by the end of the game, I really appreciated how it made the story come together.

    So many people are bitter about how Abby killed Joel and how Ellie not taking revenge doesn't make any sense. But I think it completely makes sense. Joel massacred a group that was just trying to rebuild the post-apocalyptic world and I think it would have been cheap for the game to not acknowledge that that move wouldn't have any consequences.

    I think that all the people saying that this is bad writing are looking for feel-good stories where good always triumphs over evil and the bad guy gets what's coming to them. This game perfectly acknowledges all the nuances of morality in the post-apocalyptic world the way the first game did.    … Expand

    This game is a technical masterpiece, with a solid gameplay and a narrative whose only fault is not being appealing to mainstream audience. I hope ND keeps on with Part III and maybe a new IP with different setting and tone but same cure to detail and psychological storytelling.

    Was going to give this game a miss because of all the bad reviews that it got but i am glad i didnt! This game did not deserve the negativity that it received. When the PS5 comes out October-December i will play through this game and enjoy it all over again. My only criticism is that theirs to much identity politics but still a great game nevertheless.

Every twist and turn in the story every grueling moments or fate the characters had to endure I really felt all their emotions. Which to say could be something someone dislikes because this game is not easy on your psyche. I really felt everything that went into this game, all the emotions and all character motivations. The one and only part I disliked was one issue I had with the pacing of the game. If you want to make people feel empathy for someone (in this case Abby) you have to build up the character and their motivations. This was in some way the case with Abby however you only got to know her truly after she had already killed Joel, which was the biggest turnoff for some people in this game. If we had felt her suffering and had had the ability to put ourselves into her mindset the players would have understood her better. But apart from that this game is flawless and since this pacing issue didn't affect me I'm giving TLOU2 a full 10/10.… Expand

    Gameplay, Graphics and Level Design are excellent. I felt the story was disappointing but was more of a subjective thing. The story will divide the fans but ultimately I don’t see how you can give this game anything short of 10.

    This game is awesome!. Great history and characters!. Dont trust the negative reviews. Just play the game and enjoy!. If you like action videogames all I can say is that this one is a trully masterpiece made with so much love in every detail. EPIC!.

    You just need play it till the end. It was pretty good at the beginning and then worse and worse(i really wanted to drop it ,but i did buy it for 1200 grivna's(44 dollars). Its so expensive for me. i am not so rich to drop games for this cost ,but towards the end enlightenment descends on you that the Neil Druckmann is fxxxing genius.

    I can see how the game can be overwhelming for some. Especially those who consumed all it has to offer in a short amount of time. I personally could only play through it in short bursts and I believe that gave me supple time to take it all in. It’s lawless it’s hopeless and beyond redemption. It is a mirror of the first game in the aspect that the original painted beauty in struggle and at times desolation. It gave us hope in Ellie, a bright animated girl who biologically represented salvation for the human race at the brink of extinction. It gave us redemption in Joel who at the time was plagued and broken with grief. These characters go through so much and yet the game leads you on with hope. Even in the apocalypse , the little things in life will keep us going. Even if it’s hard, we will survive. I think it’s important to remember that the original game ends on a lie. Not just a simple lie but one in fact that plagues the world of the hope of ever returning the world to normal. To us and Joel, Ellie is salvation and redemption and comfort. Joel’s lie has irreparable consequences. Even more irreparable are the actions he takes to “save” Ellie. With Ellie alive, the “hope” we have believed in gets taken from us.. Everything gets taken from us. There is nothing left saving. Our parallel characters are drawn to the grief, madness, violence, that has all but consumed this world because that is what life has become. I think it’s important to understand that Joel has only been good to a select few people since the collapse of the world. As lovable as he is our quiet cowboy step daddy isn’t a good person. In this world, no one is. No relief comes from Abbys “revenge” there is no release. Abby and Ellie both continue to “lose” until the climax of this game. I really enjoyed how badass both were as fate sends them on a warpath headed straight towards each other. Ellie a Savvy and cunning survivalist, stalking, ambushing, and outsmarting her enemies. Abby a walking tank of a woman ripping and tearing through everything with an Arsenal. They kill. A lot . For what? Nothing. This game is bleak, it’s nihilistic, it’s depressing. Full of touching moments but they are taken from us. The game never loses its tension and uneasiness throughout and the gameplays loop is satisfying. The world is fantastically beautiful and the combat is some of the grittiest action, stealth I’ve ever played. I can understand where the hate can come from. I think naughty dog made a wise decision not to follow the hype train or cater to the fans of the first game. They told their story how they wanted to, for better or worse. As for the controversial ending I think it’s justifiable given how tired, and hurt these characters are and what they’ve been through to that point and what there is to gain from all of it which is absolutely nothing. Nothing they do changes circumstances they’ve been put in. Nothing will bring back the dead. Most importantly they’ve both fallen into situations that might change the future for both of them. I believe it’s something they both deserved to see, hence the ending. To me, that makes perfect sense. I think Tlou2 is the perfect continuation to the decision made in the the first game. One that paints the consequences of actions in a visceral way. I think it’s a stepping stone and a great set piece to a great possible conclusion to this world and story in terms of a trilogy. One that I hope to see and hope naughty dog can pull off amid all the sometimes unwarranted hate precedent in the current climate of gamer culture. They took a risk with the unorthodox story telling and I personally applaud them for it. A lot people went in expecting more TLOU and that’s not a bad thing. But part 2 makes both stand out as 2 separate entities as naughty dog didn’t stray or hesitate to make their world and story as unrelenting and desolate as it actually would be. I had a ride and my emotions were everywhere on the spectrum. I think no matter what, this game will make you FEEL something. If it does, no matter whatever it is you feel, regardless of if you like it or not, it has succeeded.… Expand

Still TLOU2 surpasses all of my expectations. And this is why. The Graphics & Animations - environment art is gorgeuos: vistas, lighting, dilapidated buildings and streets,    The game is a masterpiece in every department!

    I expected nothing less from Naughty Dog, premium playstation development studio. I finished TLOU1 on PS3 and then remastered version on PS4. The bar was set high. Still TLOU2 surpasses all of my expectations. And this is why.

    The Graphics & Animations - environment art is gorgeuos: vistas, lighting, dilapidated buildings and streets, rural areas, offices, water, forests and foliage, villages, interior design. Animation is simply remarkable, both for monster and human enemies.

    Area Design - it is similar to TLOU1, you are expected to go through the level once (in opposite to metroidvania) and follow the story. Once you are gone then the area is available only through extras menu. There is an intersting quirk though, which allows you to experience the same or adjacent areas with a different protagonist. Some levels are breathtaking, some are ok.

    The atmosphere - the game oozes the atmosphere until the very end. Close quarter combat with infected, seek & hide with Seraphites or WLF when overwhelmed, scary situations (vel Abby hospital level), story drama experienced through cutscenes. There is an oppressing feeling that you are wandering wasteland, once being a home to human civilization. Now taken over by nature and infected. Occasionally scattered with human settlements.

    Enemies AI - one of the best in the games I played so far. Human enemies are cooperating with each other, trying to flank and overwhelm you (esp. on higher difficulty levels), looking UNDER the objects (cars for example), using dogs to find your location. Monster enemies behave irregularly, often blindly run towards you. Close quarters combat with monster enemies pumps your adrenaline.

    The Story & Writing - the story and writing is mature and in my opinion targeted rather for adults. Not only for its gore and brutality. But mainly in order to comprehend the post apocalyptic premise and atavistic human behaviours. The story is interwoven around Ellie and Abby, two protagonists, different personalities shaped through different experiences. Yet, linked by an incident, which sparks the spiral of revenge and twists the world around them. The Player is able to see two perspectives of the events and given time make his/her own mind with respective to how the story evolves. Whether you feel uncomfortable with the situation before your eyes, you need to apply your value & morality filter. And then recognize the fact, that all the persons in the game have so much f***ed up life (vel Owen confession) that practically it is impossible to judge their behaviours and you need to follow game’s director conception.

    If I would have a chance to alter something in the gameplay I would give the Player freedom of choice. I missed that really in TLOU1 and I imagine that was a deliberate decision for TLOU2 to continue in the same manner.

    In my whole life I have never played a computer game which manages to pull off its parts in such a way that the final experience is simply extraordinary! As TLOU1 has been the game of PS3 generation, similarly TLOU2 is for PS4. Do yourself a favour - buy and play this masterpiece!    … Expand

People have said that the gameplay seems repetitive and, at times, boring because of its resemblance to the first game. You cannot change the main essence of the saga, which is the gameplay. Obviously new movement options have been added such as crawling or climbing.

    Speaking now of the graphics section, there is not much to say. It is one of the best games in terms of graphics, and yet people continue to put mediocre marks, anyway.

    Speaking of the political issue, people have strongly criticized this game for its supposed progressive political propaganda. It doesn't bother me that there are LGTBI characters, what's more, I think this needs to be normalized. What this game has wanted to show is that you can create characters with their own personality. There are people who are surprised to see that Ellie is a lesbian when she has been since the first game, and people are scared. I do not understand why.

    Speaking a bit about the story and the main plot, I think it was a great idea to have created another character (Abby), and use it to put Joel's death in perspective, and I think that is something that very few people ever understand. Abby is not a bad character, her behavior goes through something. We hate her for what she's done to Joel, but people don't remember who Joel was in the first game, he was a smuggler, a bad person. It wouldn't be fair for him to die a hero in this second game either.
    The temporal jumps are also a good idea to understand the history, instead of switching all the history between controlling Ellie and Abby, is better to play 6 hours with one a nd then play another 6 hours with the other,

    To sum up, this game does not deserve a 10, but neither is it a game of 5 or 6 as many people describe it. There is a lot of work behind this game, and for me, it has been one of the best of the generation.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is miraculous. It explore the most miserable corners of the human being through a story that leaves no one indifferent. The gameplay, graphics and the performances are amazing. However, it still needs to learn some of the humility that captivated us so much in its first part.

I know this game won the game of the year and that alone proves that this is, a masterpiece - I still want to add one more point in the positive reviews to wash out the negative ones. All the mad people are just mad that ND kills Joel and they then blame it on the "flat" storyline. Well, the story is not flat if you can get this mad about it. It is a bleak yet profoundly beautiful story about humanity, about perspectives, and about let go. Let alone this is the first blockbuster game that features a character that is part of the LGBTQ community. It feels like a win already from the get-go. Don't say that is not significant, for marginalized people, the feeling of being represented is just.. rare. And I don't care if most people can't understand that. I mean, it's hard to know what coming up for fresh air means if you have just been breathing normally for your whole life. And I think that people who are giving this game negative reviews need to get their emotions in check and acknowledge that this is no laziness; it is simply a game that does more than a game.… Expand

    Narrativement le jeu est incontournable narrativement et j'aimerais dire aux gens qui l'ont trouvé digne d'une série télévisée ou je ne sais trop quoi et qui ont adoré ghost of tsushima(en réalité je l'ai moi-même adoré, mais quelle D.A) sur que scénaristiquement les deux jeux n'ont rien à voir et sont tout simplement incomparables...
    j'ai effectivement moi-même pris énormément de plaisir à jouer à Ghost of Tsushima mais les gars, sérieux, l'histoire est effectivement bonne mais tellement classique... Même si je suis d'accord avec vous sur un certain point, le jeu n'est pas fait pour faire prendre du plaisir au joueur et je n'en ai moi-même(mis à part à certains moments) pas pris. Oui mais vous me direz :"Ouais mais qu'est-ce que c'est qu'un jeu-vidéo si on prend pas de plaisir alors que même son étymologie indique qu'on devrait en prendre…" Et bien laissez-moi vous dire que ce jeu en est la preuve, on peut ne pas prendre de plaisir alors qu'on joue à un jeu. Graphiquement c'est une dinguerie, animation faciales inégalables. En gros aussi bon sur le fond que la forme. Je vous jure à la fin j'étais devant ma télé, j'avais l'impression qu'on me plantait 10 000 couteaux dans le coeur et j'ai très mal dormi pendant 3 jours. Et surtout n'y touchez pas avant d'avoir fini le premier The last of Us et allez au bout des 2 jeux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ak si mentálne zdatný na toto dobrodružstvo a poddáš sa mu, zrejme budeš hru považovať za masterpiece. Odporúčam ti dať hre šancu, či už si si príbeh vyspoileroval alebo nie – prekvapený budeš aj tak, pretože na devastačný koniec tejto hry ťa nemôže nič pripraviť.

    While I can see why some smooth-brained people don't understand the story this game is trying to convey, I personally love the game. The gameplay is excellent, the upgrade mechanics for the guns and the characters are top-notch, and the story is a tragic tale told in a tragic world, just because Joel didn't go out in heroic glory for "saving" Ellie, everyone is review-bombing the game.

Although, the story isn't obviously as amazing as the first, it is waaaaay darker and scary. What set me off was the character change halfway through. What I thought was just going to be me controlling Abby as a filler for the story (like in the beginning) turned out to be half of the game. I really hated it at first because I hate this character, but it actually ended up being very enjoyable.

    I understand what people are saying that it sucks that Joel was killed off in the starting hour of the game. But, if that's the only reason you chose this game to be a 0 (which in most cases seems to be it) that's your loss.

    Don't listen to these negative reviews telling you not to play the game, don't even listen to mine telling you TO play it. If you want to play it, play it.

    It is a 10/10 for me. What excites me more is if they do it right, this story will be AWESOME in the HBO series.    … Expand

It couldn't even be compared to the story of the first game, also Joel's relationship with Ellie is much better in the first game, more developed and deeper, but it's still a very good game, and the game's combat system is great. But bruh everyone is crying because joel dies and that's why they give the game a bad rating, and yes that scene was horrible and joel wasn't as smart as in the first game but that doesn't make the game bad, yes there are people who It justifies that the game is bad with other aspects but I have seen people who just say that the game is bad because Joel died, literally a streamer broke the disc just because Joel died.

    Extremely well made game from start to finish, it is easily one of my favourite games. It has such a big emotional impact on the player, the story is gripping and very interesting until the very end. Gameplay and graphics are top notch. Simple 10/10. To all the review bombers: try to be a little bit more open minded and first finish a game before reviewing it.

    Interesting story, that is not as witty as the firsts game story but one that is told very well,
    and which is displayed from several angles! Great characters with a great chemistry makes you want to progress! The pacing is good, the world is really beautiful. Maybe it is a bit too long for its own good, but nevertheless, one of the best games on PS4! Worthy    Absolutely Great game!

    A good sequel, a Graphics powerhouse, an adult and topical story and characters. Really good game, but I don't see me going though the game more than once in my life.

    The game is amazing in every aspect, the graphics, the design of the environment and the characters, it really feels like a natural evolution from the first part.
    The story goes deeper into the moral dilemma of the value of a life and the consequences of our actions.     The story goes deeper into the moral dilemma of the value of a life and the consequences of our actions. Although the main story revolves again around ellie, the game now gives us the opportunity to know the other side of the story. How Joel's decision had repercussions far beyond from just "saving" Ellie. The game even gives us the opportunity to play as the "enemy", which it definitely adds perspective and complexity to the world built around the original characters.
    Usually games give us faceless very bad guys to justify the actions of the epic hero, which makes it easier to kill every one that stand on his way without asking if the guy that we just killed had his own motivations. For me, the bad reviews are from people that got very attached to the original characters, and watching them as the "enemy" is not something that you usually find on games. I also have seen criticism about some changes in the characters' personality, and I admit that some changes seem to be there just for the sake of the game's argument. But if you think about it, the context on which we met Joel for the first time, is very different to where he stands on the second part, he doesn't have the same objectives or even the same perspective about his life. While the story seemed to me to be a very good one, I must admit that the last quest is kind of non sense, but I guess that at the end is just Ellie's brutal revenge story and human nature.    … Expand

    The most intense AAA story in gaming. This is an achievement and should bring the medium to new heights.

    A rollecoaster of emotions and drama, great characters and plot. If you come in with an open mind and learn to empathize you will not be disappointed.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us 2 is a masterpiece both technically and in its storytelling. Some might think that the revenge driven story is a bit light, but if you invest time and emotions in the game you will not be dissapointed.
    Visuals, sounds, level design and actors are just stunning. And it ranks as the number 1 game for me regarding graphics and sound design.
    I did not want to play Abby, because I had no sympathy for her, but how wrong I was. Abby is in many ways "a better human" than Ellie.
    The ending left almost left my crying and I was very surprised that the game continued after Dina and Ellie arrive at the farm.

    phenomenal writing, Amazing atmosphere & graphics, Perfect animations and voice acting, great gameplay and mechanics, perfect sound track by Gustavo Santaolalla.
    I can understand why some people upset with the narrative, but unlike them i thought the narrative was mature, harsh, amazing and emotional - as it should be.
    It's not a perfect game, But the emotional journey that it took me make it a 10/10.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
