The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is a dream come true for many diehard Vvardenfell fans, and does an admirable job in presenting something new and fresh in a way that also makes sure to pay homage to the past. The game expands ESO to include a new 4x4x4 arena mode, and offers hours of new content to enjoy. Any players who are already enjoying Elder Scrolls Online should be expanding, and any fans of the original Morrowind who have held out on ESO may want to consider giving it a try now.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is a huge, fun new adventure for players of the base game to enjoy. If you haven’t played the game in a while, it is a great time to get back into it.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind excels in its poetic moments — its dialogue is beautifully written, its quests are labyrinthine. But, it falters in its moments of war, and often leaves the player swinging their swords at impervious foes, wondering if they’re making any difference at all.

Ultimately, after some small structural simplification, TESO continues to maintain a high degree of complexity, intelligently synthesizing the needs of any type of player.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is an impressive new addition to an already solid MMO. The Elder Scrolls Online has been constantly evolving since its initial launch, and the new content introduced in this chapter builds upon these improvements. There’s plenty to do in Vvardenfell, a land with consonants to spare, but one of the greatest strengths of this title is the level of accessibility. Any type of character build can work in this game, and players of all levels can play together and things will balance themselves out so everyone can have a good time. Plus, for the times when you may want to play alone, this MMO does actually provide a good solo experience. Whether someone is a long time player, new to the game, or has played before and taken a lengthy break, anyone can jump in and experience new adventures in Vvardenfell.

A great expansion that adds a lot of content while providing a reason to keep waiting for the next The Elder Scrolls main game.

The Elder Scrolls Online is set around 1000 years before Skyrim, and Morrowind is also stuck in the past. In terms of setting and story, this is a good and comfortable thing. In other ways it makes the game feel unoriginal. Especially when summoning a bear, and playing a capture-the-flag multiplayer match are among the main selling points. But, if you want to build a spell casting tank and dominate multiplayer matches, or wander around Tamriel crafting armour and mixing potions, The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind offers many hours of both.

Morrowind is a content expansion in almost every aspect, with a new character class, new PvP mode, raids and, of course, new main quests, plagued with references to the original TES III launched 15 years ago. Making it an independent expansion was a great idea, since you don't need the main game and you can still play all the content, being the perfect way to enter Bethesda Zenimax's MMORPG.

The Elder Scrolls Online gets its biggest shot in the arm yet with the extensive Morrowind chapter. It doesn't properly fix the fundamental flaws of the base game, but it does add an interesting, fresh depth for veteran players whilst keeping it somewhat accessible for newcomers.

Veterans should vacay here. New players from Skyrim will still get hit with the culture shock of lots of grinding over emergent exploration and nuanced combat. [September 2017, p74]

A beautiful restoration of a classic setting, but clumsy combat and a more constrained style make us with even harder for a mainline return to Vvardenfell. [Aug 2017, p.90]

Morrowind is a well-made but familiar extension to the Elder Scrolls Online universe. Although "more of the same" has a negative tone to it, it is hard to complain when a huge island filled with exciting adventure awaits. However, it would have been nice with an updated combat system and some new game mechanics that would bring some needed freshness to the gameplay.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is a very enjoyable expansion to an already rock solid role-playing experience. Featuring some fantastic questlines, this is a welcome return to the island of Vvardenfell - a wonderful location which has been lovingly recreated.

Aside from its new Battleground modes and Warden class, the bulk of Morrowind is essentially just more Elder Scrolls Online with little new added to the formula. If you enjoy the base game, you'll have no reason to dislike it but if you feel ESO gets boring and samey after a while, you won't find anything in Vvardenfell that will change your mind.

For all ESO's recent improvements in general and the smart, nostalgic design of Morrowind in particular, I can't overcome the sense that the world is just less fun and impressive removed from the single-player focus of the main Elder Scrolls games. This is an MMO caught between two very different RPG styles, with the world and its quests begging for solo exploration and heroism but without the depth or focus to back it up.

Ok so idk where to start. I've been playing ESO since it hit consoles and enjoyed it but I have a lot of complaints about how they releasedOk so idk where to start. I've been playing ESO since it hit consoles and enjoyed it but I have a lot of complaints about how they released Morrowind so let me go ahead and say those things.

I love the new zone they brought in but I feel they focused so much on the zone and pretty much said who cares about the rest of the content. I've played many MMO's in my time and I can't remember a game that introduced a new class and didn't provide a free character slot especially after its taken so long to introduce a new class.
Like we need more classes Like where is a Necromancer class hell even a support class like a Bard would be AMAZING.

So another thing they introduced with this update Paid for crafting training? Umm P2W? When it takes 2+ months to research your final traits it's tedious so they added a payment option to complete the research faster. Every single way they can mooch off the consumer they do it... That brings me to Housing yes some of it is pretty cool but it is strictly cosmetic and most items are payed for aka the homes least the good ones which run around 25-50$ which is OUTRAGEOUS. They hide all the good things through a Pay wall with the monthly subscription that provides a craft bag and double bank space. Which is again awful because to get the full experience of the game your gonna need a lot of bag space so it tempts you to buy it.

One of the things they brought to this update should have been there when it was ported to the console yes I speaking about Buff and debuff timers. Something so simple shouldn't have taken so long to put out.

Zenimax doesn't care about the game as you can see there is literally 0 end game content Especially if you beaten everything and are bored of pvp cause its literally the only thing to do... Stop supporting a terrible game/company for putting out half ass content this content is so bad they could have released it two months earlier...

I know some people will be pissed about what I'm saying but if your paying 15$ a month your wasting your money go play Final Fantasy 14.

Just started playing with a new character.

ESO is not TES if you keep in mind this thing you might appreciate this game, and you appreciate it even more if is long time you don't play ESO.

Now the game is well balanced ad people that have less time ( and lower level ) can play with their friends that has higher level: it works well the game is fun for all the player of the group.

BEWARE ! If you choose the digital upgrade, like me, you must know that the upgrade is linked to the account not to the console : I brought the upgrade with the account of my wife ( to get a discount with P.Plus ) and I cannot access Morrowind with my account.

Hmm, I really wanted nothing more than for this to be an incredible and enjoyable nostalgia trip, and while I am enjoying it, I amHmm, I really wanted nothing more than for this to be an incredible and enjoyable nostalgia trip, and while I am enjoying it, I am disappointed. Of course this isn't Bethesda's game, it is Zenimax, but I for some reason expected some of the the feel from the cities, characters, and just some overall vibes from the original game to carry over. The cities are cool, but just lack feeling. The buildings are closed for the most part, and there is not much to do aside from the usual shops and the NPCs involved with my active quests. In Morrowind, just about every destination and persona had huge amounts of character. It just feels to me like they skimmed a little bit of morrowind off the top and sprinkled it on to their MMO. I appreciate this gesture to appease long term fans, but you CAN'T SKIMP THE DETAILS when trying to compare to an incredible classic RPG like Morrowind.

Disappointment aside, I really like the storylines, dialogues, and MAIN characters. Some locations are very detailed, but overuse of props doesn't make up for the lack of meaningful accessible locations and interesting characters. I also think that for an expansion or "Chapter" that costs two thirds as much as a newly released PS4 games should have content quality and quantity that justifies the price. I DO enjoy the new class addition. Only a small handful of new armor sets and weapons were introduced, and the mounts and pets do not really seem to be relevant to the content at all. Also at the moment, there are SO many people playing on PS4, you can pretty much waltz through most of Vvardenfell because the loads of other players have cleared out the enemies already. Maybe my opinion will start to change as I get farther through the content, who knows.
