Jun 22, 2017The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is a dream come true for many diehard Vvardenfell fans, and does an admirable job in presenting something new and fresh in a way that also makes sure to pay homage to the past. The game expands ESO to include a new 4x4x4 arena mode, and offers hours of new content to enjoy. Any players who are already enjoying Elder Scrolls Online should be expanding, and any fans of the original Morrowind who have held out on ESO may want to consider giving it a try now.

Jun 18, 2017The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is a huge, fun new adventure for players of the base game to enjoy. If you haven’t played the game in a while, it is a great time to get back into it.

Jul 24, 2017The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind excels in its poetic moments — its dialogue is beautifully written, its quests are labyrinthine. But, it falters in its moments of war, and often leaves the player swinging their swords at impervious foes, wondering if they’re making any difference at all.

Jun 20, 2017The Elder Scrolls Online gets its biggest shot in the arm yet with the extensive Morrowind chapter. It doesn't properly fix the fundamental flaws of the base game, but it does add an interesting, fresh depth for veteran players whilst keeping it somewhat accessible for newcomers.

Jun 26, 2017Morrowind is a content expansion in almost every aspect, with a new character class, new PvP mode, raids and, of course, new main quests, plagued with references to the original TES III launched 15 years ago. Making it an independent expansion was a great idea, since you don't need the main game and you can still play all the content, being the perfect way to enter Bethesda Zenimax's MMORPG.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaFeb 8, 2018Veterans should vacay here. New players from Skyrim will still get hit with the culture shock of lots of grinding over emergent exploration and nuanced combat. [September 2017, p74]

Jul 11, 2017For all ESO's recent improvements in general and the smart, nostalgic design of Morrowind in particular, I can't overcome the sense that the world is just less fun and impressive removed from the single-player focus of the main Elder Scrolls games. This is an MMO caught between two very different RPG styles, with the world and its quests begging for solo exploration and heroism but without the depth or focus to back it up.
