Jun 28, 2018The Crew 2 is a beautiful follow-up to the first. It packs a lot of punch inside of it and it’s friendly to all types of gamers. The world is still big, the events are great in number, and it just feels like a fun/simple racing game that you want to play on and off for a long time.
-
Jul 1, 2018It is truly a gearhead’s playground, with plenty of customization and tweaking options, combined with arcade gameplay to give a more relaxed feeling.
-
Jul 30, 2018The Crew 2 is a big game, confidence, and it takes the adrenaline within every moment. Completely enjoyable, the fact that you can go through every kind of road, or fly or go across the sea is brilliant, also the enormous amount of vehicles available, the originality on presenting your career, it makes it interesting and thrilling. A worthy, funny and enjoyable racing game.
-
Jul 5, 2018An avalanche of racing goodness, hokey social media anchoring and an oddly sparse open world aren't enough to prevent The Crew 2 from improving on the original in every way and providing a multi-disciplined racer that is quite unlike any other on PS4.
-
Jul 5, 2018Despite its shortcomings, The Crew 2 still displays admirable strengths, which lie in its player-friendly features, freedom of movement, and its willingness to bend the rules in order to make things exciting and varied for an accessible, American-themed thrillride.
-
Jul 2, 2018The Crew 2 improves its initial idea with the presence of new vehicles and modes that make us enjoy land, sea and air. It is not perfect, but it will entertain those who want to enjoy speed without regard. And for those who want to tour the United States economically and simply.
-
Jul 2, 2018The Crew 2 outperforms its predecessor in almost all aspects. New disciplines, vehicles and better graphics join a cooperative multiplayer really fun that we have attached to the title for weeks.
-
Jul 1, 2018The new The Crew’s chapter is even madder than before. With the introduction of boats and airplanes, and the possibility of switching between them in a snap, the roaming has been brought to a new level.
-
Jun 29, 2018The Crew 2 successfully expands the concept of its first installment. Although it does not repeat the mistakes of the first one, it makes others. While the game is varied, fun and gorgeous, some disciplines are not up to the task, the progression and economy systems are not adequate and the exaggerated collisions sometimes play against you.
-
Jun 29, 2018The progress system is getting dull, the rubber band AI keeps the races overly artificially exciting - and these are just two examples of a long list of small to medium-sized quirks. But even if the game is not as perfect as the big role model Forza Horizon, I have the same amount of fun in The Crew 2 as in the open-world racer from Microsoft.
-
Jul 4, 2018The Crew 2 is a big, big racing game. The enormous playground based on the U.S. has a lot to offer and is fun to play in with friends, but unfortunately there is too much wrong with some essential elements to make it a definite must-have.
-
Jul 2, 2018No matter the element, The Crew 2 is a fantastic vehicle in which to master the ins and outs of speed. It’s just a pity that Ubisoft’s new world of varied racing disciplines feels hollow and uneven as it won’t hold your attention for very long in its current incarnation.
-
Jun 30, 2018The Crew 2 invents nothing, and excels at nothing. But it’s a huge mix of many fun and cool things to do, served by an amazingly big open-world turned into a sandbox for grown-up kids.
-
Jun 30, 2018There is a lot of variety and plenty of racing types and the open world is gorgeous, but weak character models and no competitive mode at launch hurt this game.
-
Aug 26, 2018The Crew 2 is a vast improvement on the original in every aspect. The environments offer a vast, exciting, and expansive world to explore. The huge variety of racing events, alongside a near endless progression system, promises hours of play time, and the car customization is the best we have seen this generation.
-
M3Aug 2, 2018It’s better than its predecessor, but The Crew 2 never really reaches its potential – mainly due to some underwhelming level design and a badly written story. However, in the end, The Crew 2 is an entertaining game, and a good choice for those who are looking for a racing game with big variation.

Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 31, 2018Zooming around highways, waterways, and skyways is a real blast, despite some wonky vehicle physics. And just soaring through the air is a soothing experience. [Issue#152, p.75]

Jul 10, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jul 6, 2018The Crew 2 has a huge and solid structure, but in terms of quality the game in some elements lacks of detail, especially in the graphics and driving system departments. We hope it has the support of Ubisoft for content to come.
-
Jul 6, 2018The Crew 2 is one of the most diverse racing games we have ever played where the entirety of the United States is your personal playground. Racing, sailing and flying in this world truly is entertaining and the game offers enough content to last you quite a while. The game does suffer from a couple of issues however. The AI can be severely limited at times, the physics are simplified, some areas on the map aren't used at all and trying to navigate anywhere during a race is horrible. Plenty of issues in other words but none are so severe that you won't enjoy this game for quite some time to come.
-
Jul 4, 2018The Crew 2 is a fun game in a lot of ways, but lacklustre in others. For every enjoyable event there may be another that is frustrating or simply a little boring. The open world can be great to explore, but thanks to being able to fast travel to every event you don’t ever actually need to physically cross the USA. Ubisoft should be commended for really taking a risk with The Crew 2 by adding so much and taking proceedings less seriously, but while The Crew 2 is a good arcade racer it still doesn’t quite rank among the best.
-
Jul 3, 2018The Crew 2 has its moments (and they are moments that no other racing game can boast), but it ultimately remains, at the current state of events, a discreet pastime for fans of the genre who do not seek realism at any cost.
-
Jul 3, 2018The Crew 2 is a racing online game without the online part. This leaves us with some good views, some nice rides, but without something strong enough to keep going.
-
Jul 2, 2018There’s an overabundant amount of things to do and it will keep your time consumed. What it lacks, however, is that hook to want to play it. The driving and physics are bland and the narrative is dreadful.
-
Jul 1, 2018The Crew 2 still falls short of expectations in spite of the improvements made over the first iteration of the game. The open-world feels empty, the multiplayer features are useless as there is no PvP and the rest of the game feels way too generic to stand out from its competition. Forza Horizon is still a safer bet.
-
Jun 28, 2018A successful sequel where it counts the most, only a few potholes slow The Crew 2 down in its drive to become the ultimate road trip.
-
Jun 28, 2018I think the developers made the right call by branching out with planes and boats and going for a more approachable play-what-you-like format.
-
Jul 18, 2018The problem with The Crew 2 is, aside from its admittedly pretty visuals, it seems content to coast by by just being good enough, never really feeling like it tops its pulse-pounding opening race or effectively shakes up the formula from the first game enough to really stand out as an essential purchase.
-
Jul 2, 2018There’s no denying that at its core this game is good, however, the problem lies in the fact that it’s just so damn unpolished.
-
Jun 29, 2018The Crew 2‘s digital recreation of American remains as inviting as it was in the first game, and the diverse event types and new air and water vehicles mix things up in a good way. Eventually, however, the aggressively grindy loop of replaying races to upgrade your vehicles will leave you feeling like a theme park custodian: You’re surrounded by attractions that should be such fun, yet you’re stuck doing mindless chores instead.
-
Jul 4, 2018A totally mediocre racing experience. The Crew 2 has a lot of ideas, but anyone of them is well-executed.
-
Games Master UKAug 9, 2018The Crew 2 spreads itself too thin and doesn't take enough advantage of its sprawling open world. [Issue#333, p.54]
-
Jul 27, 2018he open world remains impressive but less so when there's barely anything fun to do. Although it's designed for constant online play, good luck trying to find someone who stays long enough for you to engage with, let alone someone who can witness the sweet decal job on your vehicle. It may get better in a year's time, but for now, The Crew 2 is more of a chore than an enjoyable experience.
-
Jul 6, 2018The Crew 2 is a better game than its predecessor, but still -4 years later- manages to fall flat on exactly the same areas. Yet again we have a shining example of a game that will be complete in a few months from now, with many vital updates like the PvP Multiplayer missing - essentially the games' endgame. The writing is awful with a constant "How do you do, fellow kids" vibe that misinterprets what's "cool", but the game is at its best when it lets the player loose on the massive United States “Best-Of” map instead of confining him in boring tracks.
-
Jul 5, 2018The Crew 2 really isn’t all that engaging. Sure, The Crew 2 can be recommended as an arcade game that controls well for casual racing fans, but those updates are going to have to be really good in order to give this title longevity.
-
Jul 4, 2018The Crew 2 addresses some complaints from the original game, however not to the point where the concerns are completely eradicated. There are some clear improvements such as a larger open world, a better focus and the inclusion of new racing disciplines by air and water. However, the rubber banding AI and lack of multiplayer content keeps the series from hitting its potential.
-
Jul 4, 2018While it’s disappointing to see The Crew 2 fall into some of the same pitfalls as its predecessor, its open world remains one of the most impressive playgrounds, in terms of scale, out there. Sure, there’s very little reason to explore its vast road networks outside of its visual appeal, but the sheer variety of different events, from nerve racking aerial races to coast-to-coast endurance runs, will still get your heart racing.
-
Jul 3, 2018The Crew 2 improves upon the many missteps of the original. The controls have been significantly improved, the grim story has been abandoned and the graphics are better than ever. However, thanks to limited online play and a lack of open-world activities, this sequel feels strangely unfinished.
-
Jul 2, 2018If you’re willing to accept The Crew 2 for the buggy, unsure of itself game that it is, there is some fun to be had, but its lagging far behind the competition at this point.
-
Jul 1, 2018Despite its satisfying core loops and drip-feeding of loot slathered in mechanical jargon, it's hard to recommend The Crew 2 based on what many would consider to be its selling points. The world is barren despite being billed as a greatest hits of American landmarks and 'car feel' itself is frustratingly basic and holds your hand far too much. The interconnectivity did its best to compel me to stick with it but The Crew 2 is a sad case of wasted potential.
-
Jun 29, 2018It's not a bad game, as I never felt like I was gritting my teeth to play it, but it lacks a strong hook to keep you playing. Without that hook, you spend your time noticing all the small ways that the experience lets you down.
-
Jun 29, 2018Other than brief moments, no part of The Crew 2 is captivating enough, including the rubberband-based gameplay, the events themselves, and the overall setup of the open world.
-
Jun 28, 2018The Crew 2’s evident ambition to encompass cars, planes and boats into a seamless sporting experience is admirable, but constantly undermined by the bland, unattractive shell in which it’s contained.

Jul 16, 2018Essentially, I never found myself enjoying The Crew 2. It’s not broken or busted in any major way, but I kept hacking away at the progression in the hopes that something would click and make the core game fun, but that never happens. It’s remarkable how similar in design the game is to the original, and how little feels improved upon outside of the visuals and the number of events to compete in.
-
Jul 9, 2018The actual driving of The Crew 2 is not up to the standards of modern racing games, and that is an important facet of any game that focuses on driving.
-
Jul 5, 2018It's that most frustrating brand of sequel where all the right ideas and elements are in place but never seem to coalesce.
-
Jul 4, 2018The Crew 2 is a lot like its predecessor, but it seems to hide the multiplayer even though the singleplayer is not that exciting.
-
Jul 2, 2018Some strange design decisions create a racing sequel that’s arguably worse than the original, and only time will tell whether it recovers from its poor start.
-
Jul 2, 2018The Crew 2 has a beautiful open world, but average driving, strange design choices and weak multiplayer prevent it from utilizing it to its full potential.
-
Jun 29, 2018While it certainly improves upon the original in many ways, The Crew 2 is a step backwards overall. Its rubberband AI is some of the worst in recent memory and its version of America feels empty, not at all like Forza Horizon, the game it really wants to be.
-
Jul 10, 2018The Crew 2 has the whiff of a game that might become something wonderful in a year’s time, after numerous patches and additions. But right here, at the beginning, it doesn’t do enough.

Jul 10, 2018The Crew 2 is going to need a lot of time and work to feel like a worthwhile purchase. I’m not sure Ubisoft, a company I’ve come to associate with that very post-launch polishing process, will manage it. I’m even less sure I should have to wonder. This is a barebones product without much of a foundation to flesh out in the first place. It’s not something I’d even consider giving the benefit of the doubt for $60. If anything, it’s enough to make me question giving the publisher the benefit of the doubt ever again.
-
Jun 29, 2018As someone who initially dismissed The Crew but eventually fell in love with it, I dearly wished to see its promise fulfilled and its incredible map brought back to life. The Crew 2 can't manage either feat. It is a sound enough arcade racer as it is, and there's every chance that it will eventually flower into a great game. But it is a much smaller, less ambitious and less exciting game than it pretends to be, or than it could have been.
-
Jun 28, 2018In 2018, The Crew 2 is a mess, but it’s easy to imagine the same game, in 2019 or 2020, being a must-play. There’s a part of me that looks forward to that version of the game. But I’d be lying if I said I wanted all of its embarrassing blemishes to be concealed, repaired and removed. There’s plenty to love about this cross-eyed puppy.
-
Jun 29, 2018The Crew 2 will be an incredible racer in a year’s time. It’s just not there right now, and it’s a shame. It’s full of potential, packed with a dizzying amount of variety, and you can’t help but be impressed by the massive world you inhabit. Unfortunately, The Crew 2 is just too inconsistent to fully recommend.
