There is nothing that is bad about this game. The bosses are hard, the opportunities are BEYOND minecraft, and you never really run out of fun. however, it may not best good for people who don't like 2D, but that still isn't a problem. In fact, that is really no problem with this game

Maybe I am crazy, but I think this might be the greatest video game ever made. I know that is a bold statement, but never has there been a game that I bought for 3 separate consoles (Xbox 360, Steam and PS4) and played all the way through on each one like there was no tomorrow.

Maybe I am crazy, but I think this might be the greatest video game ever made. I know that is a bold statement, but never has there been a game that I bought for 3 separate consoles (Xbox 360, Steam and PS4) and played all the way through on each one like there was no tomorrow.

The game starts out as a 2D Mindcraft-esque sandbox explorer, but slowly evolves into an insanely in depth platform adventure/shooter with by far the most expansive crafting system in existence thus far. The amount of materials that exist to build and construct with honestly seems infinite. In all of my 3 playthroughs, I still don't think I've seen every item. The game's item count is in the 2 or 3 thousands and they are still adding new things. The weaponry, accessory and clothing options are vast, with hundreds of ways to customize your character and the abilities that help you play the game. My best strategy to play the overall game is to first set up a base with dorms for NPCs up above, then a basement/dungeon with all the crafting stations and inventory chests below, and under that a tunnel straight down to hell. You will find endless things to do along the way, having over 100 hours of exploring within each of the 10+ worlds you can randomly generate. With the ability to delete and re-create worlds at will, there is no limit to how much you can collect and build.

I think this may also be one of the most challenging gaming experiences I have ever undertaken. There are boss battles that require intense preparation. In Terraria, that preparation could include gathering materials, brewing potions, constructing your own arena that helps you fight the boss to your liking, building a house and setting up a nurse near the boss arena so she can heal you during the fight, etc. There are so many ways to go about achieving your goals. Not only are the items vast, but the best part about the game is that the environment is completely manipulatable. There is nothing you can't build, and nothing you can't destroy.

Terraria is a massive achievement from such a small team of developers. It's almost impossible to describe, but I guess one could say it resembles Mindcraft meets Castlevania meets Zelda meets...something way better than all of those games combined. Warning: This game should receive an 'LR' rating for Life Ruining. It is that good.

Good altogether game. Lots of content and fun to be had with it. Not only that, it makes you feel like you are playing the old Marios in a way again. If you've ever played Minecraft and enjoyed it, you'll enjoy this. It's got lots more content, more bosses, armours, biomes, mobs, and everything else.

I love Terraria this is one of the best games I have ever played. I have over 340 hours on steam. Bought it and played it like 24 / 7. I have to say that the PC Version also has some small bugs but the rest of the game is just epic. The controlls for the console in this game are even worse than anything you could think of. I have tried to change the controlls, even tried to use my mouse and the keyboard on my console but the game does not allow me to use that no matter what. So I have tried playing this game on PC via PS4 Remote Play and yeah the keyboard is working but only for the menu. The rest is even worse than with the controller because changing inputs for the keyboard is also not working. So I a have no other choice but playing this epic game with the worst controlls I ever had to deal with on a consol game. I have tried to learn the controlls but the after awhile the stress gauge is breaking the limit and I just fall in rage and quit the game. Well one of the best games with worst controlls ever made and no way and no support for mouse and keyboard. So I sadly have to keep playing alone on PC. I have bought this game to play with my friends on the console because they don't own a pc. Things could be so easy but sadly they're not. The game itself is 10/10 points the controlls are over 9000 below 0 out of 10. Expand

This is one of the very few games I can give at 10/10 on. From the platforming, to the fighting, to the farming, and from riding a bunny to killing a god this, game has so much content in it that despite how many hours I have in this game, I feel that I've just scratched the surface.

I've been playing since the Xbox 360 version and was happy to know that they put it on to the next gen consoles. Terraria has been a childhood classic to me and I still play it to this day.

The music is nostalgic. In the first several minutes if the game you could start to hear yourself humming to it. I've never had a game do that to me since halo.

There is a huge replay value to this game. Considering that there is over 3,000 items in this game, and plenty of different explorable biomes, caves, you can even go to hell if you want cuz why not.

I could go on for hours and just tell you what you're missing out on but I just want to end it off by saying that you should get up and grab yourself a copy of terraria

as it did on PC, Terraria shines on the PS4 as well. One of the best renditions of a modern 8-bit game, Terraria sets you aside to survive in a randomly generated world on your own. But as time goes on, you'll soon realize than there is more to this world than you think

I find the attack patterns of the sword are horrendous as slimes can attack from below but you cannot attack them as the are.

Liking the game more and more as I explore my personalized random world, finding different ores, weapons, armor, etc. and slowly crafting newer and slightly better armor than the last. It's an extremely slow process so far.

    BUY IT!

I have never played a game that controlled as poorly as this game. Trying to align the cursor to the exact spot you want is a nightmare to the point where I just don't want to play this game. If you're going to buy this game, do so on PC; not on PS4.

Most of 2017 there were major crashing and save issues which seemed to be ignored for the PC port roll out. The devs were working on porting the PC version and unifying all the different versions which is a good idea since there were different bosses in each and it should make updates easier. Unfortunately the port has left the game with a clunky UI ported from PC and multi player and couch co-op is a buggy broken mess for what is now approaching a year as of late 2018.

Local multi player(couch co-op) has screen freezes of up to 20 seconds with the game still running during boss fights and in some areas making progression impossible with local multi player. Load times are much longer since they ported the PC version over and the UI is usable but quite bad compared to the original console developed version.

It is a great game but has not been one for a while on PS4. If you ONLY plan to play on single player the bugs are more minor and bearable and you may get an adequate experience. The devs are still supporting the game and making updates but I would not advise buying the PS4 version as it has been broken in one way or another for half the games PS4 life, at present still is in some ways, and the devs have been extremely slow to fix things on the PS4.

I've played Terraria on the PC back when it first came out, and now that I gave it a second try on the PS4, I really didn't regret it. The controls are actually great. There's heaps of content in this game. Trust me, after 100 hours of play time, you will likely still not find everything, and that's excluding all the building options you have open to you with a lot of customization. A very fun addition that will add a lot of hours to your gameplay. Expand

at the beginning it is a little complicated to adapt to the controls by the reduced number of buttons and how the distribute, but in a few minutes of game you get used fast, besides that you feel that essence of being playing a PC game to PS4 very well adapted.

Terraria is just as fun as ever, but the controls and features have changed drastically since the Xbox 360 version, and it can be confusing. A fun game with a lot of flaws, these flaws are outweighed by the fun designs, characters, music, and atmosphere.

While it’s easy to compare this game to Minecraft on the surface, these two games are incredibly different from one another. Terraria is a meaty, charming, and flexible sandbox experience that can easily sap 80 hours if you’re not careful, even if the controls and cursor are a bit strange to get used to.

Terraria is a meaty, charming, and flexible sandbox experience that can easily sap 80 hours if you’re not careful, even if the controls and cursor are a bit strange to get used to.

Terraria looks and sounds more akin to an 16-bit style game, with simplistic animations, and happy tunes to greet you upon your first few minutes in your world. This style is quite nice to see and hear, and runs at a rock-steadily smooth frame rate.

While the style is nothing to scoff at, the gameplay and progression is where this game really flexes it’s muscles. It’s a lot like Minecraft in that you are dropped into a massive world with little to no assistance. However, Terraria has a lot more depth, which becomes a lot more noticeable as you progress through the game. This game’s progression is similar to a power climb, where you start off insignificant, to where you can barely fend off a zombie, to shrugging off dozens of hits without breaking a sweat near the end. The progression is really well paced, where you’re constantly looking for a new weapon or piece of armor to grow even stronger. The combat is very simplistic, with an emphasis on kiting enemy attacks and consistently landing your blows. However, Terraria’s vast weaponry and extreme flexibility allow you to experiment with whichever weapon you may find interest in, regardless of your class. This flexibility combined with a vast arsenal of tools to use to dispose of your enemies, while being paced out well makes Terraria incredibly engaging.

The game isn’t centered around combat, as there is also the ability to build structures, and utilize various electronics to create gadgets that are useful, or entirely impractical. There is a lot you can do with this system, and is honestly something I barely scratched the surface of. Building these structures and electronic machinery will make you look back upon it after completion in awe of what you’ve done, contributing to how rewarding this game feels sometimes. However, this leads to my biggest flaw on consoles, which is the cursor system. The controls by itself are fine, if a bit unique, and the cursor works well outside of building, but the cursor system for building is generally wonky with both cursors.

Terraria is an amazing, rewarding, and generously meaty package that you should not skip out on simply because it looks like “2D Minecraft.” If you want something that you can sink your teeth into for hours on end, then this game will satisfy that craving.

Probably one of the greatest games ever created.

With near endless amounts of content, crazy bosses and hundreds of items, this game can keep you busy for YEARS!

The best version is on pc however the console versions are perfectly playable.

    Everyone should experience this masterpiece.

    A infinite duck complex spawner
And then, we went to war, slaughtering billions of ducks, in the name of the ernh lord.
So many ducks, they died, they fell, until the audio broke, and we had to restart.

The PS4 version of Terraria adds bigger worlds, new enemies and new bosses to an already addictive formula, and certainly represents the best place to begin if you still haven't tried any previous edition. Nonetheless, it is not worth your money again if you already own it on any other platform.
