I'm going to be honest. If you are not a fan of the terminator series I would not pick up this game. Anyways the first 2-3 hours of the game were kinda of boring in some way but later in the game it gets pretty fun. The ai could use some serious work though. Also so many times seeing terminator shooting at random things like the sky and ground for some reason, but it it created so many laughs. The middle to ending of the game I enjoyed it as a terminator fan but the story was kinda short. I wish it was longer. Especially at 60 bucks. I would wait until it's on sale but otherwise I think it was good. Probably the best terminator game to date. Expand

    a pleasant surprise

Terminator Resistance comes from Teyon.. the devlopers of Heavyfire and Rambo.. on rail shotoers that all got 2.5’s from me out of 10.. so I was a little nervous, would terminator resistance fall in those foot steps? Is this just an on rails shooter with misleading trailers? And im so happy that the answer to those questions is no.. Its so hard for me to believe thatthis game came from the same team because its that much better than anything this studio has ever released…
Terminator Resistance takes place during the future war where you set out to take down Skynet once and for all… The gameplay of terminator resistance changes up quite a bit as you go through this 6 hr story, at first it feels like a stealth survival game, as youre not equipped to take down terminators.. and the simplest enemies in the environment can pose a threat as youre set out onto a tiny map to complete a task, here youre also not able to take down terminators, so you have to stealth and sneak pass, really creating some intense moments.. but as the game goes on the game play picks up and becomes more action heavy.. youll earn skill points, be able to upgrade your character as well as your weapons, until the point where you can finally take these terminators on.. turning them into just an average enemy… and that’s one thing I love about this game.. is its progression of feeling hopeless to feeling like you can take down anything.. it’s a slow and satisfying progression.. its what kepped me hooked and pushing forward.. because sadly the story and world just don’t… the world is uninteresting and not really worth exploring and the story isn’t all too captivating… just a generic lets take down the corporation story…
Thankfully though Terminator Resistance Is again only a 6 hours game… so I don’t mind the lifeless open map aspects.. this game flies by and im shocked to say I actually enjoyed it…
that being said, the pacing could’ve been slowed down a bit towards the beginning for it got crazy.. I would’ve enjoyed a little more stealth sections with the terminators, this stealth mission was the best in the entire game
I enjoyed sneaking through enemies, deciding if im going to play with force or stealth, and pushing through to become a terminator of terminators…
    I give Terminator Resistance
    a 6.5/10

I expected nothing from it. After all, the last Terminator movie sucks big time! But it was finally fun here. The atmosphere is like you imagined with T1 and 2, the story is short but goes well with the world built, the music is good and the main theme of course amazing. The gameplay is basic. Shooting, stealth, loot, craft, we know the formula since a while. Graphics are not perfect butI expected nothing from it. After all, the last Terminator movie sucks big time! This is definitely a b-tier game and that's ok. My personal score is a 7 but scores of 6 through 8 are reasonable. Graphics: Slightly below average but not bad.

This game is trash but it's the good kind of trash like a B movie , run surprisingly will on my PS4 at 60 frames all the way through , Combat is enjoyable if you played on hard, And I enjoyed it enough to get a platinum trophy on it , So if you see it on discount play it

A "Fallout"-lite action/RPG with a Terminator skin on. The game is far from perfect, but should please fans of the franchise. It has the feel of "Star Wars: Rogue One". You'll go on missions for the rebellion using hacking and pick locking skills as well as firearms. A big downer is the enemy A.I. as it is quite weak. This seems like a game made for and by fans of the early Terminators movies? Yeah it is cool to see the Future War aspect of Terminator done in this type of Metro Exodus lite format.

The gameplay mechanics are not really very original and the A.I. is kind of dumb. The graphics look nearly last gen with ok to ropey VA. Gameplay wise everything is functional and it all works well

Gameplay wise everything is functional and it all works well together, but nothing really stands out. The big jumps in the character leveling up was kind of puzzling? Did that mean the game was supposed to be bigger or longer maybe?

The music and future tech sound effects are awesome and really give that Terminator movie vibe. Got to say the last final run of the game oh yeah what a great gaming high to finish on. This game was definitely nostalgia bait, but in a good fan service way.

Most tie-in license games tend to really suck and be nothing more than money cash grabs. This is kind of well done for a low budget indie game having to live up to a giant of a classic movie license.

You can tell the developers were trying and it's actually a decent game. The first half is pretty slow and kinda boring and the voice acting is terrible, but the second half is what a terminater game should be. Loved the weapons and how the damaged terminaters would get up slowly when you thought they were destroyed. The game had amazing music to.

Pretty decent, but I recommend trying it on PC! The PS4 port does not really do it justice, and you can even mod back in some NSFW content on PC. However, as a game, the title itself does respect the continuity of the first two games luckily. However, some things like the budget probably and the mediocre gun combat does make this a rather easy game. However, its characters and story arePretty decent, but I recommend trying it on PC! However, its characters and story are definitely with merit, Commander Baron being a great example of how compelling new characters in this franchise can exist without being very significant to the plot. I think this is the best compromise, and the alternate endings reinforce the series' theme of choice. I would recommend this game but only on PC for the best optimized graphics and presentation. If your a fan of the first 2 movies and shun the rest of the franchise like I do this is a pretty good attempt at trying to loop the story the gameplay is a little dull, not much challenge and can be platinumed super easy but I dunno, it's just a cool little game I guess

A little rough around the edges, but an absolute must play for fans of the Terminator franchise. The aesthetics, the atmosphere, the music, the sound effects, everything pays true homage and respect to the original two movies. They even made an excellent effort going deeper into the lore of Terminator, which was very impressive. The aesthetics, the atmosphere, the music, the sound effects, everything pays true homage and respect to the original two movies. They even made an excellent effort going deeper into the lore of Terminator, which was very impressive. You can tell that while the developers were working on an AA budget, they first and foremost wanted to be loyal to the franchise - something we haven’t truly seen since arguably 1991 when Terminator 2 came out. I think they used a lot of the original licensed music as well, and those 1980’s synthesizers really make the tone of the game feel so true to the original two movies.

The game itself is good. It blends a lot of different ideas together, and while none of them really shine in any way, they are all fine. Regarding the gameplay alone, this game feels like it’s a very well polished game from the Xbox 360 era. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, but it just had a slightly dated glaze to the way it plays. It feels like Fallout 3 without the VATS system. There are some semi-open areas, there are some more narrow missions, there are some fairly intense cat and mouse missions similar to how Alien Isolation plays. It’s not quite a shooter, it’s not quite an RPG, it’s not quite a horror, but it’s very solid and enjoyable. It does feel a little janky at times due to the budget - some graphical glitches, some design glitches, some super rigid animations, the writing is sometimes pretty awkward, the voice acting is not top shelf, but everything I mentioned in the first paragraph makes up for it all.

To be fair, my view of this game may be slightly biased because I am a huge fan of the franchise. This is a true love letter to the franchise, loaded with easter eggs and references, but the core gameplay and presentation is a bit janky. Still a great effort and enjoyable game. Also while the Infiltrator Mode is far from perfect, it’s actually really fun being able to play as the bad guy. Truthfully it’s closer to a 6/10, but being biased and a huge fan of the franchise, their respect for the first two movies made me knock it in a point.

Terminator Resistance is a B game as they are hardly ever made these days. Many of the ambitious ideas are nowhere to be seen, but despite that the game is just perfectly playable and entertaining.

Moments of fan service and an ambition to do more than simple shooting can’t overshadow the aged feeling of Terminator: Resistance. [Issue#170, p.93]

Terminator Resistance is yet another faulty game based on a movie. The fanservice is the best part of the entire game. Next to that, the graphics are bad, the Terminators are not that intelligent or frightening, and the world and missions are not interesting. Which could have been a shooter to remember has turned out to be another bad part in a series of bad iterations.
