This game is the reason why I'm interested in Tekken again after so many years, this is definitely the best Tekken game in terms of gameplay.
The gameplay is amazing, it feels smooth and responsive, and there's an insane amount of combos that you can do.
The stages look beautiful for the most part, and the music is okay. The story tries to do something cool but ultimately falls flat

The story tries to do something cool but ultimately falls flat and is just boring.

I think the biggest problem of the game is the lack of single player content. If you don't want to play multiplayer, there's barely anything for you to enjoy here and that's a shame.

The game does feel unfinished sometimes, especially after that rough start. The DLCs complete it and improve the game a lot but there are many of them to the point where it just gets annoying.

Overall it's one of the most enjoyable recent fighting games and a great entry in the Tekken series, solely because of its diverse character roster and fun additional gameplay mechanics.

Final Rating: "Very Good" ~ 7.5/10.

Pretty boring. Feels like a less entertaining version of DoA. I have around 30+ fighter games and this is between half way and bottom of the stack for me. Always play cos I fancy a change, never a first choice.

Looks nice, sounds nice. Just feels poor gameplay wise. Too many combos. I'd rather have a few move sets to use wisely, than have to remember every single button and direction to do a different move and then combos. I just don't like these style of inputs.

If I had hours and hours to sink in to this then I'm sure I'd like it more but seems more like a game of memory at the moment and I like playing lots of games, I can't remember these masses of inputs.

I play KoF 15, GG Strive, MK11, Injustice 2, BB Centralfiction. Always playing fighters but I can hit them up and get stuck in and with this I don't have that pick up and play vibe.

What I really don't get are all these reviews hating on the game cos of its story. It's a 2Dish fighter. Not an RPG, you're not reading a book. I've never in my life discussed fighters with my mates and they've said oh story is a bit **** Who cares. It's a bloody fighter. It's like buying a cake and saying I don't like the cake cos the knife that sliced it wasn't very decorative.

I'm actually going to stick with this one and keep giving it another try and hopefully raise my score. Something is telling me I haven't experienced what this game has to offer yet. If a game isn't worth my time then it is a straight 0 score from me. I think it is so cheap these days that it is well worth having and it feels very polished. I think some reviews are maybe being a bit harsh. I own a hell of a lot of games, so I have a lot to compare against. Anything out of the red is a good enough score from me.

I played Tekken first time on Arcade since i don't have game console when i was a kid. And Tekken always gets better from time to time. Tekken 7 is the best now, waiting for Tekken 8 to take over the throne

Decent enough if you're okay constantly getting your ass kicked in multiplayer. Ranked matches don't help.

    Pros

New mechanics: Rage Arts (Doing a super when you're in low health by doing a command or by one button), Rage Drive (Modified move from the original), Screw (A new way of doing combos, much better than Tekken 6/Tekken Tag Tournament 2) Season Passes: The first Tekken to have season passes. New mechanics: Rage Arts (Doing a super when you're in low health by doing a command or by one button), Rage Drive (Modified move from the original), Screw (A new way of doing combos, much better than Tekken 6/Tekken Tag Tournament 2)

Season Passes: The first Tekken to have season passes. This builds up hype and introduces new characters and stages.

Music: The music in this game is great! You can also change music from the Jukebox (You can only do this on PS4 because most of the Tekken games have been on PlayStation consoles)

Gallery: The gallery is quite a surprise. Not only does it have character endings from past Tekken games, but it also has artwork which I've never seen before.

ULTIMATE TEKKEN BOWL: Relive memories of playing Tekken Bowl from Tekken Tag Tournament. Play bowling in Tekken style!

Rank Points: Ever since Tekken 5 DR, there was no rank points. You had no idea how close you were to a promotion/demotion. This was the first Tekken to introduce rank points, you can finally tell if you're close to a promotion/demotion.

Easy throw-breaking: Throw-breaking has gotten a little easy, it is not unnecessarily difficult anymore.

Easy controller-setup: Controller setup is much better and easy than previous Tekken games.

Stage/Music Transition: I like how the stage changes atmosphere on the last round, as well as the music. This build up hype.

    Cons

Online: Sometimes, the netcode is good, sometimes, it isn't. In season 1, there was no rank points, which was a problem since Tekken 5 DR because you would have no idea if you are close to a promotion/demotion. Rank points were then introduced in season 2. When someone disconnects during a match, you get nothing, unless the opponent goes AFK and you quickly beat him before the match gets cancelled to get points. In an online tournament, when a match gets disconnected, you either win by default, or the whole tournament gets canceled.

Broken Characters: 2D characters like Akuma (Street Fighter), Geese Howard (King of Fighters/Fatal Fury), and Noctis Lucis Caelum are non-Tekken characters who are broken. DLC characters like Negan, Leroy Smith, Fakhumram, Kunimitsu and Lidia Sobieska are broken. Every part about them is annoying. This is just my opinion, you may disagree to this.

Terrible/Short Story: The main story was alright, I just wish there was more. The narrator made the main story boring. I can't say the same for the character episodes, they were absolutely terrible.

Lack of Content: This game does not have many offline content and is missing some like team battle and survival. ULTIMATE TEKKEN BOWL is good, but it's not enough. Also, the AI in this game is trash, which makes Treasure Battle boring.

No tutorial mode: You have to learn this game on your own or by searching YouTube videos.

Frame Data: Frame Data was finally added in the game, back in season 3, but now you have to pay for it.

Stages: Two dojo stages, two volcano stages, two helipad stages and two floor-break stages. Some of the filters on the stages looked terrible than compared to the beautiful Vanilla filters. The main ones to me were Twilight Conflict with the beautiful sunset, Mishima Dojo with the warm contrast and Devil's pit with the dark atmosphere. They completely ruin those stages by changing the filters. In season 2, they brought the filters back, but they're separate stages now. They should've been a stage transition.

Playing this in 2023 (free with PS Plus). A key thing to note is that I haven't really played Tekken, except for a few goes here and there at my friend's house on the original PS1 when I was a kid. Accordingly, I didn't really enjoy this. A Google search suggests that there are lots of deep mechanics, but none of them are explained because there are no real tutorials. And then needs to be. I just couldn't get into the flow of the game. I felt I was just being juggled by the enemy constantly and couldn't break out of it. Obviously, I'm just crap. But I'm an experienced gamer and platinum many games. 2D fighters like Injustice and Mortal Kombat have much more in-depth tutorials and explanations built into the game. I can see some people loving this. But it just wasn't for me. And the Rage Art thing is crap - you can perform a special powerful move when you hit below 20% energy, effectively rewarding you for losing and arbitrarily trying to make it a close fight. Injustice is better because you build up the bar by actually winning and can then use the bar in different ways. Expand

You can watch movies of the series. Many characters.
New characters are not attractive. Too much paid DLC.
    New costumes are lame.

Tekken 5 was a small part of my childhood.
It's been quite long since I played a Tekken game for the last time... till recently.
Tekken's strongest aspect was always the gameplay, and Tekken 7's core gameplay is awesome! It's very complex, it looks clean and it feels smooth... it's Tekken gameplay at it's finest. The roster is great, even though there are some questionable additions in.

The visuals and the audio design are very dynamic and cool!
The customization is fine and the music is... well, Tekken 7's soundtrack is mediocre at best but I like how there's an option to use tracks from the previous games in the series.
The game is not flawless though, far from it.
Some animations and character elements feel outdated or unpolished.
The DLC characters are way too many in my opinion and half of them should've been included in the base game; locking classic Tekken characters behind a pay-wall is unacceptable.
The Arcade Mode is a joke; it's very short and irrelevant.
Also, the singleplayer content is just underwhelming.

    + Very good roster
    + Complex mechanics

Tekken 7 is a lot of fun when playing multiplayer either offline or online, but unfortunately, it's not without its flaws.
It's still a very enjoyable fighting game though and a good game overall.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been a fan of this franchise since the first one. The character rooster seems way too heavily focused on milking money off of other franchises and not enough thought or ideas into the rooster. This game is way too heavily focused on the E-Sport side of the game than the majority of the fan base. the game lacks solo player minigames and every character feels the same now since they tweak everything in the game for competitive online play. The rooster is just random characters from other games and movies and based on racal professency. Where is the playable devil Kazya or playable boss characters we used to get in these fighting games that made the game fun for the solo players? No where because games are to focused on esports and youtubers to care about the true fan base by milking money out everything without any thought or good idea into the game. Sorry for those that like this game but the game is a big step back for me. The story was completely ruined by containing non-tekken characters in the canon story. Expand

Tekken 7 was the first Tekken game I got on Day 1...and I kind of regret that. I don't regret getting the game, I just regret paying the full price, cause while this game at its core is really great, it's very lacking in the extras, whereas the others had some pretty cool extras. At its core, the game runs smoothly, it feels great to play, and it's just really solid overall. But when it comes to fighting games, they need some good extras if you're going to pay the full $60. Most of the past Tekkens seemed to have more than what this game has, at least good stuff. It also lacks more characters. Not saying there's very little characters, but it seems like there's less than before. The story mode was mediocre and so were everyone's endings. I got this thinking it was going to be the last main Tekken game, but I found out it's not. So this game is mostly just ok. I'd say wait for a price drop or sale for this game. Expand

La saga mas completa de Tekken con 51 personajes, buenos gráficos y fluidez en los combates y me gusta el Ataque Rip Art. En PS5 se muy bien y se nota la fluidez que da la Potencia de Consola.

Tekken 7 is very much Tekken, exactly like you've always known it. Luckily the game knows how to get maximum gain out of seemingly minimal additions, like the flashy Rage Arts, tactical Power Crushes and surprisingly spectacular presence of Street Fighter icon Akuma. But due to the pretentious and disappointing single-player content it will never be a classic.
