Whether you like Tekken 7 will depend on your knowledge of Tekken. If you are a die hard fan waiting for something new and crazy to happen to the franchise, this will be a disappointment. If you are relatively new to the series and you just want to play with your friends or online, Tekken 7 will definitely do the trick.

With so much content from the rest of the series present here, Tekken 7 is a celebration of the franchise up to this point. The amped-up combat mechanics and the poignant conclusion to the Mishima story are all steps forward, but they are countered by a number of steps back. The lack of a tutorial, forgettable soundtrack, and absence of some staple gameplay modes may alienate newcomers and leave veteran players wanting.

The frenetic fighting and over-the-top fun of Tekken 7 is great, but it's let down by light offline modes and online matchmaking that, right now, simply isn't working well enough.

I really wanted my favorite beat'em up series to reclaim the throne. Unfortunately, right now Tekken 7 hasn't got enough content and polish to do so (plus the competition - Injustice 2 - is fierce!). The fighting system is still superb but the entire game looks outdated. The story mode is poor, the online modes are now a a joke and there are some things missing as compared to the previous games.

Make no mistake, Tekken 7 is a game for diehard fans of the series. It features solid combat and a story that, while not very strong, can justify fans wanting a solid conclusion to the nearly 25-year-long Mishima Saga. Unfortunately, this installment falters when it comes to everything else.

Honestly, Tekken 7 is a content predictable fighting game surviving off the back of it’s relatively unchanged combat system.

Tekken 7 is institutional progress and austere form cloaked in spectacle and absent of risk. Its periphery can’t keep pace with 2017 and its core feels like it’s running the same race Tekken already won almost a decade ago. This doesn’t stop Tekken 7 from being the best 3D fighter on current platforms, but it’s easy to stand atop a podium unchallenged by legitimate competitors.

Tekken 7 feels cynically put together, a solid but ultimately 20-year-old fighting system freshened up with mechanical twists and bulked out with gimmicks rather than gilded with the series' signature personality. [Aug 2017, p.114]

The game pays compulsory lip service to everything that's not about getting pro players online.

In Local and Private lobbies, Tekken 7 is almost perfect, but comes short of greatness when it comes to looking at the full package, which is a frustrating disappointment.

Tekken 7 has the barebones basics for a good fighter, but it’s missing the trimmings that make it worth recommending over bigger, and cheaper competition.

NetherRealm has shown what can be done to make the genre appeal to those who don't fancy getting torn to shreds online. Unfortunately the developers at Bandai Namco's Tekken team seemingly failed to notice.

If you’re timid about bringing your fighting skills to the online arena, that’s fine. There are other fighting games out right now that will give you that single-player fix. But if you’re ready to hit and kick other players until they stop moving, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newbie just getting your feet wet, Tekken 7 is the real deal.

What follows is the tale of a family of cursed assholes, literal and figurative monsters who let their personal vendettas and unchecked power throw the entire world into chaos. It positions Tekken 7 as the hard reboot and refocusing the series needed, giving it the same treatment Mortal Kombat received with its stellar 2011 revival.

I had been waiting for this game for years. and i can say tekken 7 is the best fighting game of current generation and it worth waiting.
the story is OK but i expected a much better and longer story but it's already exciting but some new players who don't know the story might not get it.
the fighting system can't be any better they have improved tekken's awesome gameplay in the best way possible with new moves like rage art.and there are several enjoyable modes like arcade mode and treasure battle.online tournament mode is the best new addition. the only disappointing thing is that they have removed "team battle" mode which was the best offline mode since tekken 3 to tag 2 and me and my brother and my cousins played this mode more than any mode i hope they will bring this mode back with an update. and there is no reason for absence of "lei", "anna" and "roger jr" in characters i hope they return.

the graphics are much better than previous titles but the game runs at 900p on ps4 and it's kind of annoying while much graphically heavier and more realistic games like injustice 2 and gta v .etc run at 1080p on ps4 but it's still beautiful to look at and play.

although I've never been a fan of rock and metallic music i love game's musics and jukebox feature allows you to listen to all memorable musics from previous games.

Tekken 7 is the best game in the series but they have to improve it by updates.

The story is moreThe next installment to the tekken series is here and I have to say that I am enjoying it but it is far from a perfect game. The story is more focused around the Mishima's which makes sense since the series has pretty much revolved around Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin. It is pretty short and can be finished within 2-3 hours depending on whether or not the computer doesn't beat on you and once it is done you unlock other character's sidestory fights that don't necessarily tie into the Mishima's.

The combat system flows really well and rewarding when you execute a good combo in a certain order. Rage arts are cool but really simple to pull off (either it is just pressing 2 buttons at the same time or it is hold a certain direction + 2 buttons at the same time) except for Akuma's at least.

The roster has been decreased to 38 fighters but more have been promised to be added later. So far all the doubles have been removed like Christie, Armor King, Anna, and Baek are gone as well as Lei, Wang, Marduk, Bruce, and Roger jr.

Single player game modes, like arcade, have been kinda made pointless since all it does is earn you fight money which you can earn in treasure battle plus cosmetics which can either be added to all characters or just one in particular.

Online for me was laggy as hell and I could hardly connect to other players so I can't really talk about it.

Tekken is a great fighting game if you are looking to play with friends and family locally. Though you should probably wait for it to go on sale, due to its lack of modes and really short story, unless you have the money to spend
