My opinion here may well be skewed due to my numerous tracking issues. My VR play space is tiny (5.5ft away from cam only) so the pseye cant quite see all of me from most angles, I think to play superhot best pseye needs full view of your body's sitting/low down and standing positions to improve move controller tracking so you can pick up objects etc from diffent ducked down positions. What this meant was lots of move controller tracking issues for me. So I do recommend playing this if in a larger playing area else expect some extra problems tracking the move controllers.

Still when the tracking was ok this was exactly as fun as I thought it would be, although short (maybe 2 hours in length) what works here is excellent. I got a serious workout playing this morning which involved my hilarious neo style dodging in my underpants ... This is what vr is all about!!

What a perfect game for VR. If you haven't played the original SUPERHOT on your consoles or PC, then not only do I recommend playing them, I recommend buying the VR version. It is a very fitting game for VR, and it's super fun to play with friends and take turns as you watch them struggle or succeed on the main TV. Very recommended, especially if you are all for those innovative VR games.

It's a "super fun" game... one of my favorites on the PSVR. Good graphics, okay controls, stellar gameplay. My biggest complaint is the throwing of objects does not work very well, should stick with guns and fists only.

Superhot VR is basically a Matrix simulator. It is a fully new game from the non VR version with all new levels. The big difference is the player doesn't move but the new levels are built around this.

Superhot VR is one of my favorite games on the PlayStation. You almost feel as if you are in the Matrix with the time warp and how you can use your weapons. It's also quite thrilling as you battle multiple enemies at once. The only thing that I would point out is that the game is super quick. It's not that long of a game, wish it was.

Keep that in mind when you read old reviews for the game, such as those written before it was released on PSVR. Most of those old reviews took points off for a lack of content, which has since been added for free.

    Pros:

Gameplay that is both exhilarating and cerebral.
Stylized graphics look beautiful in VR.
Long, challenging campaign with a series of alternate modes for those wanting to mix things up, speedrun, or put themselves through hell.
Horde/survival mode, which pushes your skills to the limit.
    Absolutely no motion sickness.
Not a bland port of the base game. The concept is the same, but the execution is different.
    Not $60.
Available on Vive, PSVR, and Oculus.

    Cons:

Not a port of the base game. If you wanted an exact copy of PC SUPERHOT in VR, right down to story being the same, this game will disappoint you.
If you dislike new game+ modes, speedrunning, achievement-hunting, and horde modes, you'll only enjoy playing the campaign. Which is extremely fun, but around medium length.

This games has nailed the formula for an immersive VR FPS that doesn't require much of the way in movement but never makes you feel like you are stuck on the spot. As you know the action in Superhot only moves when you do so having to actively figure out how to dodge incoming bullets whilst looking for a weapon makes the as much a puzzler as it does a FPS.

While the motion tracking and item throwing mechanics can sometimes go amiss it is never enough to make the game feel impossible or break the immersion that the game does so well to create.

I highly recommend this to anyone starting out in VR as it does a great job of introducing a number of core VR mechanics without the issue motion sickness.

The concept of the game is incredible. However, PSVR is really, really, really, really bad at detecting specific motions that the game heavily relies on. If you ever wanted to feel like you were in The Matrix, this game is for you. Intuitive controls that involve players side-stepping, ducking, dodging, firing and throwing objects at oncoming enemies. It's a rush to play and one of the highlights of PSVR. The only thing holding this game back is its short length -- but it does have a "forever mode" for those who want to test their skills.

Many look at “SUPERHOT” and say “It’s the most innovative shooter I’ve played in years!” but, perhaps I slept through much of 2016 because I didn’t know what this game was until a year ago, when a friend of mine who owned a PlayStation VR introduced me to it. Initially, it was described to me as “The Matrix” meets “John Wick” in virtual reality, and while that description was true, what I got out of it was something really fascinating: a first-person game (I hesitate to call the VR version a “shooter” since there’s more than just shooting in it) that only moves along when you do. I could honestly agree with the memetic sentiments of “It’s the most innovative shooter I’ve played in years,” because it really was unlike anything I’d ever played. After getting my own PlayStation VR for Christmas, “SUPERHOT VR” was a game that I absolutely had to pick up for it. And having finally beaten it fully, the game really is something special.
“SUPERHOT VR” feels like a game that was truly built for VR. Naturally, the idea of having a game where time moves as you move is absolutely perfect for virtual reality on paper, and in execution, it is as well. The detection of your movement is perfect, the shooting feels fantastic, and the gameplay as a whole is just excellent. It’s a game that is going to tire you out, it’s going to make you sweat, and it’s going to be extremely exhilarating, but it’s all the better for it. It’s gonna feel like a workout, and dying could be really demoralizing, but the feeling you get when you finally achieve victory is rewarding and incredibly sweet. I also really adore the art style of the game: there’s beauty in simplicity, and “SUPERHOT VR” understands that, taking a minimalist approach to its landscapes and character designs, but nevertheless crafting them with great amounts of detail to the point where they still feel rather lifelike. And while the story might seem small, and more like an excuse to move the gameplay forward, this is another area where the minimalist approach really works, as there’s some very dark moments under the surface, and it even feels like there are some small, yet tastefully-realized bits of social commentary within the game. And for a campaign as short as this, there’s a surprising amount of replay value here, and plenty of extra stuff to do once the journey is complete.
As amazing as the game is, though, I do wish some of the extra post-game content included extra levels. Sure, the campaign is good, and I get that they can’t make it too long because of the VR itself, but this game feels like it deserves more extra levels, and not just post-game challenges. Also, there are a few minor frustrations that can bog the game down a bit, like the lack of a strong checkpoint system, and the fact that the throwing controls are not nearly as smooth as the other aspects of the gameplay. Those few seemingly minor things really could’ve pushed this game even higher than it already goes.
As it is, though, “SUPERHOT VR” is arguably the gold standard for VR games to date, and while I’m sure the original version of the game is also great, it feels like VR is the true way to go with this one. As I’m sure the game wants me to say, it might honestly be the most innovative shooter I’ve played in years, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you own a VR headset and haven’t gotten to try this yet…what are you waiting for? Give it a whirl, I’m sure you’ll have a blast.

SUPERHOT VR is a dazzling experience that manages to improve on what was already mind-bendingly intense. I didn’t think it was possible, but the developers have improved on SUPERHOT, cutting what little fat there was off of and leaving only the purest moments of intense violence. SUPERHOT was a completely bold and different addition to the world of FPSs, and SVR manages to do exactly the same thing to the virtual reality scene.
