    Great game for quick fast fun, just like the old days of Unreal Tournament. Highly recommended if you like that game-style. Coupled with beautiful graphics and superb sound, this game is unbeaten.

    After playing this game for the last week or so, I can see why some people were disappointed with it but I can say that I am loving it. It looks amazing, it plays just fine and there is plenty to do. It's probably one of the most ambitious games made recently and it maybe doesn't fire on all cylinders but it's the best Star Wars games ever.

    Okay, this game is more like a 8/10, but because so many people are giving this a 0/10, I want to make it fair. After playing for a few hours, it is not that bad. I do not recommend it at $60, but if you got it at $40 like I did, I think that is fair.

    Its the shooter of the year for me. Graphically, its pretty good, but the textures really arent that great. But, its the gameplay that really drives the game. Sure, I'd like more content, like a conquest mode, but its fun. Much better than BO3.

    Most fun I had in a fps/shooter in years, graphics are phenomenal. But campaign and space battles not being in the game is a gaming sin, and missing content obviously may ruin the game for some people, but to me its tolerable since I can afford buying the season pass.

    This game isn't perfect but it comes close in certain areas and is very lacking in other areas. The graphics are beyond amazing and the sound is unbelievable through my surround sound system but its lacking depth in parts of the game. The "campaign" is lacking in every possible area on the only reason it gets mentioned is because there is somewhat of a story.

    This game does not go beyond the title, in terms of game depth, because it is really a battlefront and heavily focuses on the various battles that are happening during the rebellion. I wish it had more of a story line but I can settle with this. I imagine the next installment will have a story based on the new trilogy.

    This game is a lot of fun, and the sound and visuals are simply top-notch. My only gripe is that I can't engage in split screen online multiplayer games. Playing against the AI gets boring after a while.

    Ok so there are a lot of nonsense reviews here by people who clearly haven’t even touched Star Wars Battlefront. If you are on the fence about this game this review is for you. First of all the graphics and sound design are phenomenal(playing on PS4). EA has absolutely nailed the Star Wars universe here. The dense forests of Endor, the snow covered hills and valleys of Hoth have beenOk so there are a lot of nonsense reviews here by people who clearly haven’t even touched Star Wars Battlefront. If you are on the fence about this game this review is for you. First of all the graphics and sound design are phenomenal(playing on PS4). EA has absolutely nailed the Star Wars universe here. The dense forests of Endor, the snow covered hills and valleys of Hoth have been painstakingly recreated to perfection. You are transported to a galaxy far far away like never before. In terms of game play, its very solid. It is not quite as hardcore as Call of Duty or Halo and leans more toward an arcade experience but the same gun handling skills that rack up kills in CoD and other major shooters will work here as well. Those claiming that this is Battlefield with a Star Wars skin are way off base. Naturally there are similarities since both games share the same developer but as a long time Battlefield vet I can tell you that this is a different animal. There is a wealth of modes here and while some are better than others the sheer amount of options is very welcome. I suspect most people will gravitate toward Walker Assault and Supremacy. These are both big team battle modes which focus on controlling specific areas of the map. If you are interested in a slightly more intimate experience there are plenty of modes which offer smaller player counts and cozier maps. However, the force is not entirely strong with this one as it could be and I do have a few gripes with the title. Respawns can be a bit problematic. I have spawned in the middle of an enemy battalion countless times. Some of the gun play can be erratic at times. In some instances a few laser bolts will put an enemy down for good while other times two dozen will have no effect. This does not happen very often and these could be connection issues or something that could be addressed with a patch but it is worth pointing out. My other issue with the game is that lack of maps at launch. The game ships with 4 planets and while they are all rendered beautifully and a blast to play a larger variety would have been most welcome. With all of that said this game is an absolute blast. Controls feel great and there is enough mode variety here to keep you busy for a long time. I do wish there was a dedicated campaign included but the multiplayer is so well designed that I can overlook the omission. I do want to point out that Star Wars fans will get a little more out of the title than non fans due to the fantastic sense of place which Dice has created here. There are plenty of Easter eggs throughout the maps that will tickle your nostalgia and put a big smile on your face. This game was made to allow players to relive their Star Wars fantasies and while there is still plenty here for shooter fans with no interest in the Star Wars universe, fans will get the most bang for their buck. I’m having an absolute blast. I hope that folks interested in the title give it a try and not be turned away from a great gaming experience by all the hate and misspelled reviews from people who have not even played this title. Most major review sites are giving it an 8 and I would say that is spot on. A well made and insanely fun shooter with a few minor shortcomings which are overshadowed by the fun factor.… Expand

    Minus a couple of little problems with spawns, this is such a good game! Its dice at its best. That being said, did you really want dice to deliver a single player given their track record? I didn't think so. Get this game, it's pretty cool

Saying that, zeroes normally come from whiny people that didn't like their "vidya games coz they got angry over dat der console thingy not wurkin like it should".     This game isn't Battlefront 3 it's a complete reboot of the series. There are 4 planets each of which have up to 4 different maps. Three of the planets are recognisable the other (Solus) isn't all though it is mentioned in the movie Episode VI Return Of The Jedi. Arguably Solus has the best maps.     What a wonderful game for online multiplayer lovers. There are many different game modes, so you can choose if you want to play close quarters ( blast), capture the flag(cargo), capture bases (supremecy) or one of the other 6 modes. the pace is right, non stop gameplay for domination. yes there is no single player campaign, but im in it for the online :) and oh ya, the graphics are insane

    I don't understand why people hate this game! There is so much hate! This game is great! The graphics are absolutely FANTASTIC! You get immersed in the fighting. The game sounds good too. The controls are simple and that is good because when you are on the "battlefront" (see what I did there?), you need to move around and shoot. All of the game modes are fun and really exciting (Heroes vs.I don't understand why people hate this game! There is so much hate! This game is great! The graphics are absolutely FANTASTIC! All of the game modes are fun and really exciting (Heroes vs. Villains is my favorite, by the way). I wish that there was a story mode but the game has updates coming out so, hey, story mode can still happen. People say that the game gets boring after a while but it doesn't. The worlds that you can fight on are really cool and have so many cool areas to go to. Also, people say that the flying parts of the game are terrible, I have to admit, they are not fantastic but they are good. The developers focused on the ground fighting and the ground fighting is fantastic. This game is overall an AMAZING game that should delight any Star Wars fan.     This game captures SW atmosphere like NO other ! its an ultimate game for everyone who likes to be soldier in the middle of Star Wars conflict.     As a star wars fan, I myself am a bit disappointed at the lack of content.. and as a seasoned fps player, I'm disappointed in the lack of customization and feel of shooting. With that said, this game has amazing sound, spot on visuals, and while the gameplay is rather average and "point & shoot" simple, it still manages to be fun most of the time and though I stated it is "point & shoot"As a star wars fan, I myself am a bit disappointed at the lack of content.. and as a seasoned fps player, I'm disappointed in the lack of customization and feel of shooting. Vehicle use is disappointing, as previous battlefront and even battlefield games you had to first learn how to fly under control before learning how to dogfight, this game it's far too easy to control vehicles and getting kills in vehicles is far too easy and less skillful. Not every game mode is great but it's still fun (though having no galactic conquest is downright confusing). And in defense of this game having no campaign, they warned us consumers about that, so if you buy this unaware of no campaign and it being online only.. then my guess is you're mentally lacking and you need to do your research before dropping $60+ dollars on a game. Anyway I give this game an 8 for reasons that the sound and graphics are amazing, the ability to play as star wars heroes is cool, and while gameplay is simplistic and is more of a "point & shoot" fps, it still takes much more skill and quickness to get kills consistently than other fps's... i.e. Call of Duty! And the maps are big, interactive, and much more detailed than other repetitive fps's out there.… Expand

    Star wars battlefront is probably the most authentic star wars game ever. The best thing about the game is it's amazing graphics. The first time I set foot on endor, my jaw hit the floor, never before have I seen such a beautiful and authentic world in any game period. The game has around 10 game modes 4 of which are relevent to me. Walker Assault is by far the best, 20 v 20 battle betweenStar wars battlefront is probably the most authentic star wars game ever. Drop zone is smaller 10 v 10 fights to control drop pods all over the map. Finally is heroes vs villains this is a fun and chaotic 6v6 mode where 3 people control the hero pickup characters and 3 serve as bodyguards in a search and destroy type mode first to get 5 points wins. The only negatives are the lack of a story and only 2 people in a party at a time overall the game is great no questions asked… Expand

    It's beautiful, fun and truly enjoyable game. When you see the Endor, you'll be amazed how gorgeous it looks! I'd have been more happy if there was more content but it's good that there is coming much more to play. This really isn't 10 game with this content, but if they would have done more planets, heroes etc. then I would easily give this 9+! I,m still pretty sure that this game won'tIt's beautiful, fun and truly enjoyable game. When you see the Endor, you'll be amazed how gorgeous it looks!     Overall i found Star Wars Battlefront to be a very fun game the only thing that i found disappointing was the lack of content and things to do. The game does great job of making you feel like you are in a real battle especially in multiplayer modes such as supremacy and walker assault. If you are looking for a good single player game to play offline this one should be skipped. Survival entertain you for the first handful of times you play it. The other notable offline mode is battles similar to survival being that it does not have much replay value. Battles is a mode similar to kill confirmed in the Call of Duty games. Star Wars Battlefront is one of the better multiplayer with one of the best looking games that is out there but once you run out of things to do there isn't much reason to keep playing it. Finally Star Wars Battlefront is a good game that i enjoy 7.5/10

    This game feels sort of casual, though that isn't really a bad thing. The unlock system is easy to understand, the servers feel solid. Visually the game is amazing. It may lack some long-term playability, but if you are looking for a game you can just pick up and play for a bit, then this will do you well.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Battlefront is everything I've ever asked for from star wars and it really does make me feel as if Im in the Star Wars Universe. Beautiful game, well made, quick to learn and just all out fun to play. However, EA said they wanted to replicate the star wars battles yet there is a lack of space battles which sort of defeats the point of star wars. It would of been great if we had both battles of the death star in the game. There are also other maps they could of made that were in the original trilogy. Im also very disapointed with the amount of playable maps that are available. Playing these maps over and over again will eventually become boring. So hopefully they will add maps in future dlc. The fact that there isn't a single player doesn't bother me at all, star wars isn't the only game to not have a single player. Overall the game is great fun, love playing it, community is friendly and I highly recommend it to people who just want to feel like they are a kid again and fly the millennium Falcon.     The setting aside, the game plays wonderful. Controlling an infantry trooper or vehicle alike, the controls are fully responsive and feels natural at first, but in order to really shine, you must of course master everything. The game modes, although limited in numbers, will keep you playing this game for a long time. I've had a hard time trying to stop play Fighter Squadron and try out all the other modes, it really is that good. Controlling a tie fighter in the middle of a raging aerial combat really is a cool as I've always expected.
    Many of the reviews state that the lack of content should be rewarded with a close to 0 score. Well, if you are a hardcore Battlefield grinder and enjoy the confusion of hundreds of guns and gadgets, I get your point. Myself, I really like what Dice did here: kept it simple and understandable. Unlocking everything will keep you busy for a long time, and most importantly, every unlock MEANS something. In Battlefield, you get tons of stuff throughout the game which actually creates an inflation.
    There is off course flaws to this diamond as well, but the pros out-weight the cons in so many ways that I do not see any other way to finish this review than a big applause to Dice for delivering the game of the year.    … Expand

No single player can let some down, but you know this before purchasing it. The maps, the weapons and the character models are all made with an amazing attention to detail. The hero voices are pretty bad, but other than that DICE has really nailed it.

The maps, the weapons and the character models are all made with an amazing attention to detail. The hero voices are pretty bad, but other than that DICE has really nailed it.

    But they did not only nail the visuals and sound. The game also FEELS like Star Wars. Time to kill is relatively high, ammo is unlimited and most weapons are fairly inaccurate. So lasers are flying everywhere,all the time, hitting stuff. Those lasers aren't just from small arms off course. AT AT's, AT ST's, Laser turrets and Aircraft are also blasting away. Not to mention the orbital strike, and if you look up you might even see a battle going on in space. It is epic and it is Star Wars. If you like Star Wars, you need to play this game. Period.

    PS: People are complaining about a lack of content. What you get is an online shooter with 13 maps(4 of which are massive), several cool game modes and single player missions. That isn't bad at all.    … Expand

    A Star Wars fan's dream game. Absolutely spectacular. Can't wait for dlc.
    Gameplay feels awesome, hero combat is surprisingly well thought out and fun. Visuals and sound are incredible. Epic and thematic, feels like your in the movies. Super authentic.

    This is a first time I am writing a review, but amount of crap people are saying about this game is just unbelievable. It's interesting to see how "hated" publisher can bias opinions about the game.

It's interesting to see how "hated" publisher can bias opinions about the game.

    To the point. Graphics are AMAZING - the game is so alive, gfx glitch free and detailed its unbelievable. All that with like NO FPS LAG what so ever.

    Sound FX is AMAZING - seriously I just bought home theater just for this game. Do you want to get into the battle? Here you are, just don't forget to come back.

    Gameplay? It is SO fun. So amazingly fun. Matches are dynamic, interesting and not that repetitive for a fps game.

    Very entertaining game with outstanding visuals and action. Cant get much closer to the feeling being in the galaxy far far away. 2 new maps and 1 free new game mode upcoming making this awesome blaster war even better. I reduced 1 point cause of the match making system that does not mix up the teams after matches.

    How this is getting low reviews confuses me! How this rated lower than Black Ops 3 astonishes me! Star Wars battlefront is an absolute masterpiece! Everything I could have hoped for! After playing 32 hours I can tell you this is not an unfinished game! People expect more and this is what they have given us and be thankful for it! Props to EA and DICE for making a beautiful game. I have play ed bf4 and bf3 and battlefront 2, all are similar to this but the fluidity, the gameplay, graphics everything is better and with jokku coming out the endless amount of content delivers. It's lacking in others such as the campaign, the weapon list, space battles, and some other items. This isn't your normal FPS, and even though some say it's dumbed down. Those who are very talented at FPS will do better than those who aren't, but it still gives you a chance to become better overtime, and is a fun learning curve.

    With aerial battles being one of my highlights. I'm a tad disappointed that they removed the space battles, but I'm sure one of the DLC's will contain this.    … Expand

    Brilliant game! Best graphics I've ever seen on a Star Wars game!, exactly the same as the best Cod games but without a campaign, however there are various missions to complete. 10/10 I love it...

There is a local game mode, but it's minimal. I've had a good time with a buddy on split screen with a couple of the scenarios, but mainly this game is built for online shooter fans.

    If you are a Star Wars fan. This game is fun. They did a good job of catering to the movies and creating the feel of the Star Wars world. There is something pretty awesome about walking out onto the battlefield as Darth Vader and using your light saber to deflect the enemy shots back at the enemies. I wish that EA had found a way around having to buy PS Plus to do multiplayer, as the single player missions are lacking, with only training, Offline Battles, and Survival, which the best of these modes is Survival.     - Most blasters do not feel unique.
    - Some game modes are very short when i would like them to be a bit longer.
    - No character customization or weapon mods.
    - An AI to shoot at during multiplayer.
    - Becoming a hero requires a random pickup instead of being a reward to a skillful player.

    The lack of weapon customisation and small gains obtained from upgrading star cards I see as overall very positive because it ensures the most hardcore gamers don't get big advantages over those who don't have so much to play. It maintains some level of balance, keeps matches close and engaging. The hero power ups enable even the worst players to get a load of kills and top the table at the end of the match. The training and single player missions are a very good way to practice before jumping into the online matches and I am very glad they are there.

    Overall Star Wars Battlefront is one of the best games I have ever played and receives a well deserved 9/10 from me. This is a game I can see myself playing for a long time to come. I can't wait for the DLC!    … Expand

    The gameplay can be extremely satisfying, and I’m no FPS pro. I’m a veteran of games like Doom and Halo, but never was good at ‘twitchy’ games like Battlefront or Call of Duty. Perseverance does pay off, with better side arms and accessories, and with gameplay experience that translates to a better understanding of why and how to attack a mission. That perspective gives a better gameplay experience than just running to the front, shooting, and dying, over and over. I’m a stats guy, and though mine are not good – I still take pride in improvement, and the fun moment of a plan being executed.
    Some missions will be more fun depending on the gameplay experience you want to have. Too much run and gun? Try Extraction or Cargo Run, where stealth can pay dividends. Playing as the heroes is always fun, though difficult at times. And the Starfighter battles are good. Not great – like the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter games on PC. They tend to be a big fur ball, like an old cartoon, but it’s still fun to drop in on every once in a while.
    If you like Star Wars, and like FPS at all, you will love playing Battlefront. Until you get hosed 1kill-9deaths in a mission. Then you will decide how much you like it – and do you want to improve. There is no wrong answer there, and I do look forward to a full single player in the next SW Battlefront.    … Expand

    Presentation: The game looks and plays incredibly. Not only as a Star Wars entity, but as a game on its own. It almost makes me feel like I'm a kid, playing at the arcade on some high-budget Star Wars game that will never in a million years make it to console. But this truly is that game. The musical numbers from the trilogy are well selected, and it sounds and looks about as much as Star Wars as you can get.

    Multiplayer: Playing with friends is easy to set up and endlessly fun.

    Cons -

    Overall Game Interface: The title screen and menus for this game feel like a damn Health Insurance website. Having to register for some worthless EA account isn't exactly a pleasure either.

    Imbalanced Game Mechanics: During flying mode (Flight Squadron) it is pretty obvious that the Imperials have a disadvantage. While Rebel ships are equipped with shields, Tie fighters only have a boost which doesn't do much good in a battle. Maybe it would if this were a race...(or a Pod race)

    Heroes: I do not care for Hero mode. Nostalgia is not as important as gameplay and these guys are nearly impossible to kill unless you gang up on them.

    Simplicity: It's a simple game. You start on a menu, you select a game, and then you shoot lasers at each other and that's pretty much it. If you want more out of your video games, or just a more in depth open world choice-based experience, you won't find that in Battlefront.

    Content Releases: 50 dollars is a little steep for just the first quarter of an expansion (which so far is only 1 new level). And the 'new heroes' are just characters we already had (Nien Numb and a Rodian), with different color clothing. It just reeks of 'Scammery'.

    Once again, this game will grow on you. At first it is very simple, almost too simple. You start with very little inventory, and basically no customization options. But the more you play, the more you are able to unlock and you start to see how in depth this game really is. There are far more items, weapons and fighting mechanics than what seems at first glance. And I can't stress enough how much more fun it is to play if you have a friend or two. That seems to be how this game was meant to be played. Being a major Star Wars nerd doesn't hurt either.    … Expand

    This games is spot on! The season pass is good too! Great shooting game with great game modes and many Easter eggs for the die-hard fans! I play this game heavily and spent much time seeing how I can do batter. Also, they have added more single player modes and have added more maps. This game has been a blast for me!

    This game does not have much depth although it is still a GOOD game. It may rely on expansion packs but so do most games these days so that did not bother me to much. You should get this game especially if you are a Star Wars fan!

    This Game is brilliant the graphics are amazing and so are the sound affects. I understand there is very little depth to the game as it's just multiplayer but that is battlefront. There is a lot of DLC in the pipeline for release which looks good and now that more maps and turning point has been added it's great.     Looks amazing! Seriously, I mean WOW! You do feel like you are in the SW world. Unfortunately it goes downhill from here. Cons: 1. There is no story mode, so that limits your experience. The solo or co-op missions are severely lacking. It’s just do the same thing 15 times. No, seriously, that’s it. Really!

    A huge surprise for me! After around 2 or 3 years away from FPS games I really thought that I would never love a game of that kind as much as I loved this one. Probably should have more offline content? Sure. Should it have a story mode? Sure. But this is a really fun FPS online game. Keep in mind that in opposite of almost all the people that love this game, I am not familiar with StarA huge surprise for me! After around 2 or 3 years away from FPS games I really thought that I would never love a game of that kind as much as I loved this one. Probably should have more offline content? Sure. Should it have a story mode? Sure. But this is a really fun FPS online game. Keep in mind that in opposite of almost all the people that love this game, I am not familiar with Star Wars movies. I like the Star Cards system that lets you unlock more abilities which can be used with the press of a button. The power-ups across the map are nice too.     Star Wars Battlefront have amazing climate from the Star Wars universe. The positive aspects of the Star Wars Battlefront is:
    - Original sound in the game, attention to detail, beautiful graphics, variety maps, fun in multiplayer and in single (split screen), and a lot of stuff to unlock.
    Negatives:
    - Price and too small content for people without season pass.

    graphics aren't everything but this game reminds me of the call of duty games its pretty much call of duty but star wars. the pace of this game is good and the gameplay is fantastic and the sound effects are spot on

    Feels like that people that complain about the game actually never played the battlefront series before, I mean its a great game, a really battlefront tittle, with a few changes, the only thing that I think is a con for the game is the season pass that add maps that should be on the original game.

    One of the most unfairly maligned games for PS4. Simple FPS third person combat, beautiful settings, brilliant game modes, great progression systems, and just an all around fun game that stands the test of time.

    Lack of content? Sure. But that's why we have Battlefront 2! Can't wait.

The game looks so beautiful it definitely throws in the argument of quantity vs quality. Some say the quality of the game wasn't enough to compensate for the lack of content.     Played Star Wars Battlefront very excellent game also great graphics and voice work also easy controls really enjoy how if you play skirmish mode which can you play either Walker Assault or Fighter Squadron on various worlds of the Star Wars Universe which include Tatooine, Hoth,Endor, Sullust and Jakku you are thrown into a war in the of The Star Wars An Improved Game Thanks to DLC Skirmish Mode

    This game was one of the first games that I logged 500+ hours in. IMO, this game is the definitive Star Wars game, even though I can see all the arguments against it. You can tell at launch it was very rushed, as there were only about 8 game modes (of which only 3 were good), about 4 unique maps and no single player story. The heroes and villains and the starships are the most unique parts of these games, and they do not disappoint (except the fact that you have to run around the map looking for a pickup). If you get the chance to experience this game and it's DLC, the Bespin and Death Star maps are my favourite level designs, maybe ever. I might be biased cause I love Star Wars, but this game is just that good after 5 years.… Expand

    Great game, they really poured their souls into this one. Only could use more aliens, maps, heroes, conquest mode, etc, the type of game you wish still had live-service updates!

    With the new film of the space opera saga finally on the big screen and the release of Battlefront's new sequel, both after a decade overdue, it is definitely the best time to be a Star Wars fan. The game itself is a dream-come-true for fans, and the Star Wars spectacle is strong in this one. However, if it is depth and longevity you seek... this is not the game you are looking for.
