Bridge Crew — even after two delays — reeks of unfinished promise. The campaign’s main goal is discarded almost immediately, replaced by a shoot ‘em up premise far removed from the Aegis’ specialisation. It’s the opposite of both Red Storm’s intentions and those of Starfleet itself.

Star Trek fans should not miss this experience, but but the lack of scope and the problems left a bland taste in our mouths.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew nails something that franchise fans have long desired: a chance to control a starship, tap out commands on a console, and work together as a team. But Star Trek is also about character interactions, moments of discovery, and stories that address the human condition. Without any of that flavor, something feels off in the endless torpedo launches and ship scans. As a VR experience, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is another step forward for the medium, offering some of the most compelling interpersonal communications, cooperation, and deep presence in a shared space that I’ve yet seen. I’d love to see Ubisoft continue to iterate on this franchise; the core mechanical systems here are solid, and the rest of the Star Trek fantasy would fill in some notable gaps.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew brings a great VR experience, along with a fun multiplayer mode. However, its lack of variety and content and its tedious single player mode prevent us from recommending the game to everyone. Hardcore Star Trek fans may consider it an immediate purchase, while others should better wait for a price cut.

Fascinating. It merges a lot of ideas and caveats that shouldn’t work or would be a barrier to entry but manages to overcome a lot of the potential shortcomings. As a VR experience on its own it won’t leave you too impressed, however as a cooperative VR title with asymmetric gameplay it would be difficult to find a finer example. Just be prepared to encounter unsavoury online types along the way, this game will live and die by its online multiplayer.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew has solid gameplay and offers plenty of variety, thanks to the availability of two ships, two game modes and four very different roles. Trekkies will love it from start to finish, but there's no denying that it could have been better, especially from a graphical standpoint.

Being on the bridge of a Starfleet ship in VR is a very satisfying experience, as long as you are a Star Trek fan, of course. But after these very good first impressions, Star Trek Bridge Crew lacks a bit of surprise and variety in its missions.

Playing Star Trek: Bridge Crew is every Trek fan’s dream, giving you the opportunity to sit on the bridge of a Federation starship. It’s a great co-op game for VR, but takes a few direct hits when played with AI and when you think about the balance between roles and the mission structure. Even so, with the Trek license lending this game an awful lot of atmosphere and the paucity of must-have VR games right now, this is still a near essential buy.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew feels like a promising first draft of a fantastic Trek simulator, but it only goes boldly for a few hours. After the novelty of finally sitting on a beautiful Federation starship bridge wears off and you’ve exhausted the handful of mission types, all that’s left is the goofy physical comedy of messing around with your friends or strangers in VR.

This is a game for Star Trek fans who want to play a multiplayer VR game. If you're one of them, you're going to love this. If you're not, you're going to find an enjoyable title that can get a little bit repetitive.

An interesting VR simulator based on the Star Trek franchise flawed by some issues like technical problems and a very predictable gameplay.

Unless you have a group of hardcore Star Trek fans ready to loose their inhibitions and go into live roleplaying, Star Trek Bridge Crew has little to offer with its simplistic gameplay, dated visuals and low quantity, quality and variety of missions.

It's still somewhat thrilling to inhabit the captain's chair on the bridge of a starship--at the bare minimum, Star Trek: Bridge Crew accomplishes that mission. When the game is at its best, the spirit of cooperation between various asymmetrical elements is encouraging--even special. In every other regard, however, Bridge Crew is forgettable the second you pull out of VR.

Star trek Bridge Crew is a must have for all serious Trekkie out there with an immaculate respect to the IP. On the other hand, most players will find the game repetitive and quickly boring due to the limited gameplay.

Brushing its hilariously goofy teamwork aside, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is a shallow, repetitive experience that even the most optimistic Star Trek fans will struggle to sink their teeth into. It’s a missed chance at making piloting your own craft a pleasure, and a sore disappointment.

This may be a VR dream come true for Trekkies, but it’s one you wake up to discover is severely lacking in variety, depth, and value for money.

With Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Ubisoft creates an immersive, attractive co-op experience for the TV series fan. The main problem is that, beyond Trekkies, it won't be a suitable game for anyone unaware of the Starfleet's adventures. The absence of matchmaking filters (country, language, etc) can make communication a chore among the crew.

A good virtual reality experience, but a purchase is only advisable if you are a serious fan of star Trek. The game will require you to play buttons for hours. Of course, aboard a ship from the Star Trek universe.

Despite its grand vistas, Star Trek: Bridge Crew comes across more like a simple mobile game than a full virtual reality simulation of space combat and exploration. [Early Impressions - 5/29/17]

This is like a dream come true.
I´ve just spent three hours straight meeting other Star Trek fans, nerding out in this wonderful game.
If you love Star Trek, you have to play this.

Bridge Crew is quite good from a technical standpoint. Visuals and Sound are great and immersive.
Storytelling seems to be a bit lackluster, but that really doesn´t get in the way.
The highpoint of this game is clearly the community aspect, and i think it´s a good choice to give people room to talk to each other instead of listening just to the game.

Not until the release of Farpoint did I finally find a game that is actually fun to play and kept me coming back, let alone that it is a technical marvel to behold... a few weeks later Star Trek Bridge Crew came along and amazed me once more.

The game looks gorgeous, plays very intuitively, has a good feeling of immersion and is downright fun to play.
The move controllers come into their own in this game; you can play the game with the DS4 controller but I highly recommend using the move controllers since they feel like they are an extension of your hands.
If you like 'Trek' then you will love this game, the atmosphere is spot on and a mission feels like you are in a Tv episode of Star Trek.

I have not yet played a MP game but the Campaign already feels very rewarding to play and will take quite some hours to finish.
I just hope that when I go online that there will be plenty of people to play with.
Since this game is cross-platform (PSVR, Oculus and Vive) you should have a better chance at finding an online game.

Just like Farpoint I consider this game to be a 'must have' for PSVR players.
As far as I am consearned this is another good reason to buy into (PS)VR.
It's not a gimmick anymore, this is a proper game!
