Una muy buena recopilación remasterizada. Las únicas pegas que le puedo sacar son el rendimiento (30fps y un motion blur excesivo) y algunos diseños de personajes y sus voces.

The fact that this game was completely redone from scratch impresses me. I personally only played the original Spyro 1, a couple years ago, to the point where I fully completed it. Because of this, I never played Spyro 2, nor Spyro 3. When I played Spyro 2 for the first time in my life through Reignited, it felt like a breath of fresh air, as the levels had more diversity and variety, something that was kind of well executed in Spyro 1, but Spyro 2 had greatly expanded on it. Spyro 2 isn't a blast from the past for me, it is a completely new experience. There's a reason why I bought a PlayStation 4.

EDIT: Website messed up on my end and accidentally rated 0 for me.

*DISCLAIMER: As with my previous review of the "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy," this isn't going to be a blow-for-blow analysis of each individual "Spyro" game, instead it's a look at the collection itself.*
Last year, Activision impressed the whole lot of us with the "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy," a very faithful and welcome return from gaming's favorite orange marsupial that reminded us of why he was so immensely popular before he was given tattoos. So, once that collection became a hit, we were all asking the same thing: "can we have a 'Spyro' collection next?" "Spyro the Dragon" was another popular PlayStation hit back in the day before it, like Crash's series, left its original developer (Naughty Dog for "Crash," Insomniac Games for "Spyro") and essentially lost its way. "Spyro" was rebooted with the polarizing "Legend of Spyro" trilogy before being relegated to the lead character in "Skylanders" until the sixth entry, "Skylanders Imaginators" became the straw that broke the camel's back and essentially signaled the end of the franchise. Not long after, Activision decided, after many teases, to give us the "Spyro Reignited Trilogy," a remake collection in the same vein as the "N. Sane Trilogy," but this time featuring the iconic purple dragon. And fortunately, Spyro's "Reignited" and better than ever!
Forget just living up to the new era of games and transitioning well, "Spyro Reignited Trilogy" feels like it plays even better than the originals. The controls are tighter, the difficulty level has been perfectly adjusted, and the minigames feel a lot smoother (Agent 9, specifically, is a joy to play). The graphics are also luscious and gorgeously-detailed, the music feels faithful to the original while taking its own identity, and the characters and stories are brimming with more personality and charm than ever. And furthermore, the addition of new activities and skill points in the original "Spyro the Dragon," plus the general better feel of that game to play on par with the latter two, just makes the collection feel and move excellently.
All that said, though, while the games do feel better than before, I can't give the collection as a whole a perfect 10: it's not the result of any of the game's showing their age (again, they play better than a number of platformers do these days), it's the fact that the game does have a few performance issues and glitches that can occasionally intrude on the experience. It's not like the game feels unfinished, but I can't in good conscience say the collection is a full 10 out of 10 when I find myself crawling sideways on the occasional ladder, being unable to unlock certain trophies because they're glitched, or having to quit out of the game sometimes because the frame rate dipped and won't go back up. Again, it's not horrifyingly bad, but those small moments do add up and lead me to have to deduct a point.
Don't let that one-point deduction deter you, though, the "Spyro Reignited Trilogy" is in the master-class as one of the most faithful and excellent remaster collections you'll find today. It's not uncommon for remasters of games like these to show off some of their age, but "Spyro Reignited Trilogy" looks and feels like it totally belongs in today's industry. Here's hoping the purple dragon's good times keep right on rolling from here!
Final rating: 9 out of 10 "Awesome"

If you've never heard of Spyro, you play as a small purple dragon who can fly, has a fire breathing ability, and can sprint or charge to take out stronger enemies. Using these deadly abilities Spyro is tasked with freeing other dragons who were frozen by a certain bad guy named Nasty Nark. You go to different themed worlds taking out baddies, collecting gems, and finding keys to unlock locked chests.

The new graphics, courtesy of Unreal Engine, are gorgeous, now only are the graphics very nice looking, smaller details have been added. While the graphics are great, it would be nice to be able to switch between the PS1 graphics and these new updated graphics a la "Halo: Master Chief Collection". Another annoyance that I've found that I would like updated is better control of Spyro's charge, it just feels so sluggish. The rest of the gameplay is very fun.

So why is this a 7 rating game? Because Activision decided to have only one disc, but they put the vast majority of the games in a download. The download itself is huge, it's like 40+ gbs. So with such a huge download, why even have a physical disk? The ENTIRE reason for me to buy physical editions is I DON'T have to download the game itself and have more than a good amount of my hard drive space used up.

So with all of this said, the game is very fun. If you like the collecting items RPG game without the RPG, you'll really enjoy this.

Very fun, very recommended, but Activision "dun screwed up" and made it have a huge download that takes up so much space on my ps4. 9 rating without the huge download.

    Edit:
I'm taking 2 stars off my review now simply because of the just the absolute "controlling throwing through the window" flights. Just incredibly frustrating, annoying, and not fun at all to play. Hit targets not blowingup , too tight corners causing you to crash, incredibly poorly designed levels force to replay more than 10, 15 times JUST to figure out what the order of enemies to kill is and that's not even including all the times you missed a target and have to restart or crashed and have to restart.

I'm not for re-doing levels from the original but something has to be done about not just the flight levels, but "Tree Tops" as well. This is a family casual game, not some hardcore AAA game.

I'm also disappointed in the very lackluster ending to S1. Boss fight felt underwhelming as well as the ending as a whole.

Now that I've absolutely completed everything the game has to offer, I've returned to reaffirm that yes, this game is subpar. All three games have glaring flaws that outweigh the flaws of the originals, and I can honestly say I won't give the game a higher rating. The originals weren't perfect either, but those breaks were more fun. The breaks in this one are not.

You will get stuck on geometry and unable to do anything about it - like the vines in Terrace Village. You will miss shots on things that are right in your face. You will bonk into everything while flying, because in the pursuit of maintaining the same level design, they failed to take into account that new motion animations of Spyro will interact far differently than the originals and therefore make the stages harder to traverse. It's something you do get used to, but there's many times you'll find the stage design begins to conflict with the motion of Spyro.

Namely, Spyro 3 has the worst polish out of all three games. Maybe it's because it was an afterthought that was worked on when people asked for it, but 3 suffered many flaws that hurt its enjoyment. I stated this in the original review I left, in particular about the Fireworks Factory dragon boss and the hitbox issues. What I didn't know just yet as of my last review was the ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS skateboarding errors, of which absolutely hindered my enjoyment of stages I once absolutely ADORED. Allow me to expand by explaining what happens in Super Bonus of Spyro 3- the Sasquatch 6 Race.

You will touch edges in this race. There's many bobbing and weaving paths that make this impossible to avoid perfectly on the first few attempts. This isn't bad in and of itself, unless you hit those edges/raised cliffs at certain angles. Hit it at a common angle, and you will be braked in place. Jump while stuck to get out, and the snowboard will ACTUALLY TRIGGER THE HALFPIPE SKATEBOARD TRICKS. 90 degree angle cliffsides should NOT make you act as if you are going up a halfpipe ramp, which ruined 5 of my attempts before I became overly paranoid and stopped using routes that had these cliffs, and panicked when hitting a ramp that could possibly have me touch one of the corners of a track (which were also bugged by this). After 10 attempts, I finally was able to win the race, but only after I had become horribly frustrated by something beyond my control.

Spyro 3 needed a lot more polish than it received, and the developers should have delayed the release to ensure that it got the treatment it needed to perform well. Companies being allowed to get away with unpolished content - not saying all bugs must be eradicated before release, but thoroughly playtested to ensure that the ones that are glaring are fixed - is a practice that needs to be squashed along with its bugs. I do not have the room to keep going on this review, but I assure you that I am not the only one who has noticed these errors, and I am not an anomaly for wishing they gave this series with just a little bit more love.

    ------Original review below:

For a game I have been excited to hear of for a good while now, it saddens me to know that I cannot give it the booming praise I wish I could. Though my nostalgia is dearly satiated, the controls are not as tight as many say. The poor controls of the supercharge, the horrible flight handling, and some of the hitboxes on various things - especially the double dragons in the Fireworks Factory to the rings that in the old games took me no more than 10 minutes, now 20+ minutes of frustration hoping to HIT the infernal things even when the fireballs DO come in contact with their parts - create a very frustrating experience that makes me tear my hair out and want to stop playing. I had a more enjoyable time on the older version, where the controls felt much more correct. It hurts when the camera angels swerve to unplayable angles in tight spaces, such as in Sgt. Byrd's Base when trying to enter a tight tunnel space when the camera will jerk into an overhead angle in which you can't even see Byrd flying.

Sparx seems incapable of collecting gems 70% of the time, unless you are right next to the thing, and sometimes you have to collect it yourself. The importance of him as a mechanic in the game to lower frustration on the player is reduced to pressing the left stick down every few seconds, only to find he didn't pick up a gem you passed by very closely, yet he wouldn't grab it.

I love the facelift this game has gotten, I love the designs and color and characterization, but a lot of the things that made the old game so fluid to play are missing, and create an aggravating time for those who want to enjoy their memories of the originals.

This is my favorite remastered game to come out of 2018 by far. Not because of sheer nostalgia alone. You get three games for a discounted price. All three have graphical upgrades that are significantly better than they were on the PlayStation. Last, they are games that hold up that are fun for both adults who grew up with it and kids who maybe never heard of Spyro before.

The games story only get better as you progress through the trilogy. The first game is the barest of bare games. Gnasty Gnorc has imprisoned all the other dragons and it is up to Spyro to stop him. There is nothing more than that maybe about three cutscenes in the whole game.

The second game Riptos Rage is slightly more story heavy. Spyro must take out evil Ripto and his minions and save this new world where he is the only dragon.

The third game Year of the Dragon is the most cut scene heavy game which isn’t saying a lot but it is about Spyro trying to rescue these dragon eggs from some crocodile sorceress queen thing. All three games are fun stories for kids if you are an adult and never played Spyro before this stuff is going to seem a bit childish due to the fact it is. The writing reminds me of Dragon Tales on PBS where you can tell every bit of it is aimed at kids and they don’t even have hidden adult humor mixed in it. With me saying that as an adult you don’t play these for the story it is all about that gameplay.

The gameplay is fun, addictive, and perfect if you only have 30 minutes to an hour to kill before work. This is the easiest pick up and play style of game and makes me wish I had a couple more of these in my life. Each of the Spyro games play very similar to each other with the game mechanics only improving as you go through the trilogy. Unlike the Crash Bandicoot trilogy (I really enjoyed) this game isn’t hair pulling hard. In fact, it is stupid easy. The only trouble I had with the first game was the final boss Gnasty Gnorc, but not because he is hard but because the whole fight is a chase and you can miss a jump and must start it all over again. While none of the games go over 8 hours of gameplay this is still a perfect for kids/adults who want to be completionist there are so many gems, eggs, dragons, keys…etc. to find it will take up a good chunk of your month trying to do it in all three games.

In the end this is how you do a remaster. You don’t mess with the core controls too much to keep the heart of the series intact. You make it up to today’s graphical standards because this is seriously one of the most colorful games I’ve played. It was such a nice breath of fresh air to see a game that wasn’t dark greys and browns. I loved this more than the Crash re-release which is funny because I was more excited for the Crash one. I give this a high, HIGH BUY. This is well worth checking out with your kids for the first time or going back to good ole childhood memories.

Toys for Bob takes the core Spyro series and brings it right into 2018. These games have never played better, have never looked better, have never sounded better than they do now. Spyro is a beloved icon for children of the 90s, and now he’s back for a new generation. Skylanders may have brought him back into the spotlight, but the original Spyro has returned.
In some respects, the Spyro games haven’t aged completely well, but those instances are few and far between. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy shows that great gameplay can make or break a game. With the love and care put into this collection, hopefully, it’s the start of a new life for the little purple dragon.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is maybe the greatest celebration of a classic - ever! Gameplay still holds up, graphics are beyond gorgeous and nostalgia hits you hard, yet it feels like a first time experience. Unlike some old-school odysseys that promise warm nostalgia, reignited trilogy delivers burning hot blast from the past - for the future!

Reignited Trilogy looks like a Pixar movie and proves that while many other genres have changed significantly over the last 20 years, the recipe for an enjoyable platformer stayed the same, at least in many aspects. Of course nowadays people expect more from any game and Spyro does feel archaic but its wise design stood the test of time, especially if you look at the remake through the eyes of a child (either literally or metaphorically). An excellent choice for the upcoming Christmas holiday in the family circle. Spyro is a playful and appealing rebel who will be loved by old fans and their children as well. [Issue#291]
