the graphics for the most part look really great, like a DisneyPixar movie or something, but that novelty quite rapidly wears off unfortunately.

the games are fun, don't get me wrong, but without nostalgia-glasses on, one has to admit the gameplay is a bit dated, better suited in the time platformer/adventure games like these were fresh and new - in the late 90's.

if you played them as a kid, I bet these will be really fun again with that fresh coat of paint, or if you have smaller children, they'll probably also love the games.

most of the game is just as i remember it, gameplay is great the new grafik is good, the music is pretty much the same as the old ps1 game. but in terms of sound from the props, (enemies, crates sheep/frogs etc.) it is worse then the old one (to put it kindly). and to be honest that is abit disappointing, since that (in truth) is also part of the good in the game.

If you were a fan of Spyro games this is for you. If haven't played Spyro before but love old "collectathon games" this is for you. However, don't buy it now, wait a few weeks before they fix the motion blur. Yes as the game is now it's not really playable until we get an option to turn of the motion blur. I'm not exaggerating when I say I have never seen such extreme motion blur in a game before.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is only about average because it's controls, changed sensitivity, altered hitboxes and extra invisible walls among other things make the game unfriendly for people who originally played the trilogy back in the late 90's, or who have gotten familiar with it since then. It's one thing to make a game more modern, it's another thing entirely to alter so many little things about it that the entire experience is unfamiliar to it's original fanbase, and that's what this game is. It's sad, and insulting to old fans. Expand

If you've never heard of Spyro, you play as a small purple dragon who can fly, has a fire breathing ability, and can sprint or charge to take out stronger enemies. Using these deadly abilities Spyro is tasked with freeing other dragons who were frozen by a certain bad guy named Nasty Nark. You go to different themed worlds taking out baddies, collecting gems, and finding keys to unlock locked chests.

The new graphics, courtesy of Unreal Engine, are gorgeous, now only are the graphics very nice looking, smaller details have been added. While the graphics are great, it would be nice to be able to switch between the PS1 graphics and these new updated graphics a la "Halo: Master Chief Collection". Another annoyance that I've found that I would like updated is better control of Spyro's charge, it just feels so sluggish. The rest of the gameplay is very fun.

So why is this a 7 rating game? Because Activision decided to have only one disc, but they put the vast majority of the games in a download. The download itself is huge, it's like 40+ gbs. So with such a huge download, why even have a physical disk? The ENTIRE reason for me to buy physical editions is I DON'T have to download the game itself and have more than a good amount of my hard drive space used up.

So with all of this said, the game is very fun. If you like the collecting items RPG game without the RPG, you'll really enjoy this.

Very fun, very recommended, but Activision "dun screwed up" and made it have a huge download that takes up so much space on my ps4. 9 rating without the huge download.

    Edit:
I'm taking 2 stars off my review now simply because of the just the absolute "controlling throwing through the window" flights. Just incredibly frustrating, annoying, and not fun at all to play. Hit targets not blowingup , too tight corners causing you to crash, incredibly poorly designed levels force to replay more than 10, 15 times JUST to figure out what the order of enemies to kill is and that's not even including all the times you missed a target and have to restart or crashed and have to restart.

I'm not for re-doing levels from the original but something has to be done about not just the flight levels, but "Tree Tops" as well. This is a family casual game, not some hardcore AAA game.

I'm also disappointed in the very lackluster ending to S1. Boss fight felt underwhelming as well as the ending as a whole.

I loved this trilogy when I was a kid, and for the most part the devs did a good job bringing it to 2018. Game looks great for the most part. The reason why I don't give it a higher score is because it made me realize that the games aren't as good as I remember. But if you're a fan of the originals, this will generally be a pleasant experience for you and Toys For Bob handled Spyro and his friends very well. Expand

I'll give it points for gameplay, only because the original game already had good gameplay. The amount of game breaking bugs in this game is inexcusable. The amount of people blindly giving it 10/10 "because Spyro" are basically rewarding a dog for bad behavior.

Pros; -Same gameplay as the PS1 games Cons; -Massive game breaking bugs -Poor performance -A lot of common

Buen juego, divertido y precioso. De esos a los que muchos jugamos en la época de la PS1 y consiguió que nos enamorásemos de los videojuegos. El punto negativo son las políticas abusivas que trae implícito. Tener que descargar 2 de los tres juegos online es una salvajada.

Three great games from PS1 era with first one being the best. Third is quite buggy so didn't finish it, platinumed other two. Only first game is on the disc, you need to download 2nd and 3rd game. Also, no subtitles, that was quite a disappointment for a 2018 release from AAA publisher. I rate 1st game 9, 2nd and 3rd are 7-8 range. Because of publisher stuff and bugs on 3rd game I rate it 7/10

Reignited? Well more like refurbished by a cheaper carpenter.

To put this review in perspective i have to share that i played the original games on Playstation One (Spyro 1&2) so my idea of what's great about this game is also based on what it used to be. So here we go. I have to say i'm dissappointed by this "Remaster" as i feel all the good parts have been replaced by cheap assets.

I have to say i'm dissappointed by this "Remaster" as i feel all the good parts have been replaced by cheap assets. I'm talking about the music, sounds and character voices. All used to be very funny yet serious enough to be gripped. Toys for Bob decided to remove it all (except for the original music, that's still optionally available) and replace it with boring almost unhearable crap. The characters now look and sound as if they were ripped out of a lazy kids show.

And what's even more surprising is that they didn't fix any of the original problems! The camera is still a wrestling match to properly use, and somehow gems are now harder to pick up.

After playing for ten hours i realised all that was done was a new paintjob for a quick buck. I can still enjoy the game as it's core gameplay is still intact, but it's sad to see a lesser version of a game i used to treasure.

    I give this game a 7/10.

I never played Spyro as a kid but after a good amount of hype by a friend about the remaster I decided to give it a go and I'm glad I did.

The gameplay in all three games is more or less the same and that is great because it's mostly good all across the board. The first game barely has any story, the second one tries a bit harder and the third maybe tries a bit too hard but none of that

The gameplay in all three games is more or less the same and that is great because it's mostly good all across the board. The first game barely has any story, the second one tries a bit harder and the third maybe tries a bit too hard but none of that really matters because at their core these are collectathon games for kids and you only really need enough plot to make an excuse for all the running around you're gonna be doing.

Spyro is fun if a bit shallow as a character and the world around him is interesting enough. When the games keep things simple it's a true joy to play but the problem is that they progressively try to put in more and more unnecessary mechanics and the more you play the more it starts feeling like a chore. At a certain point you are forced to play with other characters who aren't Spyro and they all control poorly and feel like an afterthought. The huge amount of annoying side missions and the growing amount of backtracking you have to go through the more you play is also a notable problem in the later games.

While I would definitely recommend Spyro The Reignited Trilogy, I'd keep in mind that these are games for children after all and can become a bit too dull.

One more thing - DO NOT play all three games one after the other like I did. I decided to go for a platinum run on all three games back to back and can surely say there is such a thing as "too much Spyro". By the end of "Year of The Dragon" I never wanted to see that purple little **** ever again.

This would be a great remake if not for technical issues holding it back, especially the framerate problems that somehow really made this way less enjoyable for me than it should be. Shame, because artists did a fantastic job.

A Smashing blast from the past. Spyro is a great platformer that will have you run from one side of the map to the other collecting items.

Spyro 2 is a 10/10 For me the best of the series, game play is similar with a plethora of new elements. You get a cool cut scene when entering a world and another when leaving The bosses re interesting and especially Ripto.

Spyro 3 is a 5/10 i feel like as the last of it trilogy it droped the ball. The gameplay resemples the 1st NOT the 2nd. there no cut scenes to the world and they tried to tell a story simmilar to 1 but Eggs instead of f=dragons. They also introduce 4 new playable characters(kangaroo, pinguin, monkey, yeti) 2 of them are fun to use and 2 not.The boss battles in compare to the Riptos Rage(2nd) really dropped the ball.

Great remake. Beautiful, cute, nostalgic and more fun to play than ever. Game world is simply gorgeous. It does lose steam after the 1st game but thats due to the original 1st game being simpler but more focused than its follow ups. In my opinion, better remake than Crash N'Sane trilogy.

I bought my PS4 only because of this game, was a great fan of the original trilogy many years ago, and still play it from time to time with emulators. Maps are slightly different, by a few pixels: there are jumps and glides that I can make blindly in the original, but in the remake I struggle for 20 minutes. This might come from a bit different controls too.

This is not a bad game at all - but don't bother, if you want to relive your childhood. But I think it is more entertaining for players not familiar with the original.

If you are new to Spyro or have notI am a lifelong Spyro fan and, naturally, was very excited for the return of the franchise. I bought the game day one and have played through the whole trilogy multiple times. Initially, I though that these remakes may actually trump the originals for me due to the improved controls. After several replays, I have realised I prefer the originals more. If you are new to Spyro or have not played any of the trilogy for years, then the reignited trilogy is an easy recommendation. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an accesible collection of three of gaming's greatest platformers and quite possibly the best looking and most impressive games on the PSX. This is a great way for kids and adults to start their journey with the franchise. For me and other fans, however, the originals will always be best and not just due to nostalgia. Although the reignited trilogy is not majorly glitchy, there is no denying the fair share of bugs present here, with some being game-breaking. The original trilogy was a much more polished experience. Some of the voice acting is another gripe I have with reignited. Despite Tom Kenny's return, the original character of Spyro is completely lost. Gone is the snarky, reluctant, 90's-era attitude, replaced with acting that wouldn't be out of place in Paw Patrol. This carries over to other characters to, especially Bianca, Hunter and the Sorceress. I personally loathe Hunter's new voice and character, but I digress. The direction is clearly at fault here as the actors who returned can still perform. The cutscenes also undermine the character of Spyro. A great example of this is the Summer Forest cutscene in Spyro 2. In the original, Spyro was not exactly pleased to be lumbered with the work he'd just been given. In Reignited, Spyro seems raring to go and behaves in a really cutesy way. While I am excited for the seemingly inevitable Spyro 4, I am a bit sad due to the Spyro franchise not really feeling like Spyro to me anymore? I loved the first two TFB skylanders games, but perhaps the now dissolved VV would of been a better choice for the trilogy due to their faithfulness to the originals (if NSane is anything to go off of.) Controls for Spyro are different but good, and Agent 9 and Sgt Byrd control MUCH better. New life has been breathed into these characters.

Visually, the game looks great for the most part. I personally prefer the simplistic yet beautiful visuals of the original but this is just my preference. The lighting and random tint can look a bit strange in some areas. Some character designs, mainly enemies, are strange too. The Soundtrack is fully remastered, with tracks being made dynamic, which is a nice touch. Performance on PS4/Xbox One/Switch is... ok. The framerate drops below 30 quite often, and (optional) motion blur is excessive. The original Copeland masterpieces are included also and remain unrivaled. (Best OST's ever. Shush. ;))

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a nice little package for newcomers but may not fully satisfy long-time fans. Detractors of Reignited, such as myself, seem to be the minority so TFB must of done something right. There is no denying the value here, and children who may not have access to a PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita or an emulator will get to experience this incredible trilogy.

The fact that only one game was on the disc at launch is disgusting and no doubt harmed the sales and developers. Hopefully this practise does not continue in the future.

Reignited Trilogy looks like a Pixar movie and proves that while many other genres have changed significantly over the last 20 years, the recipe for an enjoyable platformer stayed the same, at least in many aspects. Of course nowadays people expect more from any game and Spyro does feel archaic but its wise design stood the test of time, especially if you look at the remake through the eyes of a child (either literally or metaphorically).
