    Having never experienced the original trilogy before, I was intrigued to learn where the dragon got his wings before lending his support to the Skylanders franchise. I'll admit after playing this remake, while I still have a soft spot for Spyro's Adventure, I enjoy this edition of Spyro loads more.     This is a cartoon, fantasy adventure at its finest. It's got gorgeous colors, a good sense of visual humor, and it's inhabited by both adorable and terrifying creatures. It's a great way to release stress by exploring a big open world full of personality and pizazz...though if you're not careful, you may gain stress if you get stuck on an annoying mini game or two.

    Yeah, this trilogy may not be perfect whether you play the original or the remake. But having access to a three in one game with refined controls, legendary graphics, and catchy music can make your heart soar in the long run.    … Expand

    My score is only 9 because there are occasionally lags and make a little crush, and some of the original voices are missing, but overall, this is a fantastic remake of the game from my youth.
    Spyro 3 is the first game I've ever played and seen the remaster that Toys for Bob did for the there game. It is perfect from the unique world and enemies, and wonderful soundtracks.

    The original games are great and this remake does justice to them…atleast the first two. The third game was extremely buggy in some parts, for example the yeti skating sections are an actual mess (fortunately it’s buggy in favor of the player lol).

    Let's start by saying I have only play one Spyro game before this, called:
    The legend of spyro: The Eternal Night and that game was fine. This one, on the other hand... I don't see how anyone above 6 years old would enjoy this. I like semi-serious games like Ratchet and Clank but this one is simply too childish and thus boring, both in aesthetics and gameplay.

    Best way to play original trilogy of Spyro series. Game has great graphics and gameplay's still fantastic after about 20-25 years since realesed first Spyro game.

    The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is just what it says: All the three classic Spyro games, remade and packed into one disc.

    I was always fan of the Spyro games and immediately bought this one when it came out. I had fun playing all the games in order, collecting every gem, egg and rescuing all the dragons. Even got so far to collect all the PlayStation trophies the game, which was a hard but fun challenge.

    The first game was easy, and I casually finished it. It was also the game I played the most back in the day, so it was not that hard. It was just as good as I remembered. Great platforming, various levels with unique themes, fun enemies and overall, a wonderful experience.

    However, the second one, Ripto’s Rage! will always be my arch nemesis. As stated in the title of the review, I broke two controllers in pure rage and hatred (yes, I know I have problems), it is still as bad as the original game, no, much worse, I think.

    This can all be linked to one element: Hunter and his bullsh!t. All the mini games, timed stages and “fly trough hoops” challenges to get an orb (which you need) where the worst experience I ever had with a platforming adventure game in my life. They made me so mad that I broke my PS4 controllers and needed to get two new ones. The worst part was the “motivational middle finger” that Hunter gave you when you lost the challenge for the millionth time.

    His smirking, his taunting and “Skater Dude” attitude (“Hey bro, better luck next time haha”), combined with the brutal, unforgivable, criminally hard orb challenges made my life miserable. The time limit is ridiculous, and you need to be a god who can bend time and space to complete everything in the given time. The worst part was to see that ugly smiling face of that disformed excuse of a feline again, when he laughs at you and your whole family, stating he is better than you, and then motivates you to try again. It was pure torture.

    Many times, I thought: “This is just a game, why all the rage,” but then I realized I just wanted to see that stupid furball cry in defeat and shame when I finally beat his ass and drank his tears.

    So, now that that has been clarified, moving on.

    The third game, Year of the Dragon, made me calm down again and the fun and joy were back. No more Hunter and his “Hippie challenges,” now he just wants to get laid with Bianca and create some freak offspring, but that is not my concern. Yes, the “challenges” and mini games are back, but they are way less frustrating and impossible then the second game. Although still hard as bricks, it felt more like the first game in which the challenge was just right, and I enjoyed this sequel like I used to back then.

    The graphical upgrade in the Reignited Trilogy is nice and polished, however the frame rate and stuttering sometimes is terrible. There were moments in which it was almost unplayable, and I played on a PS4 Pro, so it should manage it fine.

    Collecting all the trophies in this game is my second biggest personal achievement in gaming, besides Postal 2 on Postal difficulty. The main tribute for this is, you guessed it, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage.

    So, in short, I had fun playing the Reignited Trilogy, with the exception of the second game, which I never touch again in my life.

    it is literally just those 3 games, but with 2020 graphics. its amazing.
    This should be the standard for remakes, or remasters. as Nothing, ever, has topped this.     Im a big Sypro fan since 1998 in my first PS1. Absolutely enjoyed this reignited trilogy !!
    Thanks Toy For Bob to have done this game very close to the original trilogy and for introducing Spyro to young people !!!

    What a recreation. Sometimes advancing an old game with new graphic can feel out of place. As O.G. games are meant to be associated with their old graphics and it can make the game feel lesser when that old game has new graphics.
    But here, it feels wholly balanced. As if it was released this way. One of the best recreations I've ever played.

    If you never played the original 3 games then this is your chance to do so, with much better visuals. if you did play them then you'll know just how fun they were and you won't regret playing them all over again with a better camera and better visuals. Well worth the purchase!

    I've been a long-time Spyro fan ever since my sister gave me her Spyro 2 CD she bought for the PS2. I've played that game to DEATH and back in 2018, when Activision and Toys For Bob announced a remake of the original trilogy, I was hyped, I couldn't wait to re-live my childhood. This game didn't disappoint at all, the graphics are phenomenal, the combat system is just right and I had aI've been a long-time Spyro fan ever since my sister gave me her Spyro 2 CD she bought for the PS2. I've played that game to DEATH and back in 2018, when Activision and Toys For Bob announced a remake of the original trilogy, I was hyped, I couldn't wait to re-live my childhood. This game didn't disappoint at all, the graphics are phenomenal, the combat system is just right and I had a blast playing it, so much so that I finished all 3 games at 120%, 100% and 117% each and got all the trophies. The first Spyro (9/10) is a really solid title, all the levels have a different feeling and it's just really fun to pop in and spend 2-3 hours playing it. Spyro 2 (10/10) is the definitive Spyro experience, it might be a nostalgia-related thing but I never got bored playing it and reliving all the levels I played during my childhood had me crying tears of joy. The third game (8/10) however...it's a great game, don't get me wrong, but it could've been so much more. Sure, the levels are fun, the mini bosses are fantastic, but the controls on Sheila, Sgt. Byrd ecc. just feel so clunky and out of place, I had a really hard time playing through all the different Sgt. Byrd sections and Agent 9's aiming and combat system looks like something rushed, but I have to admit that roasting Moneybags at the end of the game was truly satisfying. In conclusion, the Reignited Trilogy is a great title that deserves to be played, I think it's a must have on any system it's supported on and if you want to have fun while playing a great game from the past, this is the game to play.… Expand

Spyro would also temporarily get stuck to the ground and jumping was the only way to get unstuck. On a few occasions the whirlwind elevators would drop Spyro rather than putting him in a glide and could only be fixed by exiting the game and going back into it. Since they were able to be worked around, I didn't mind them to bad. It was really great to revisit these games.… Expand

    I love this game. Excellent remake and as far as i can tell there are no relevant bugs .I don't usually enjoy platformers but this game is genuinely fun to play. the kind of game to shut off you're brain and just enjoy when after a long day. If you can get this on a sale definitely go for it.

    I never played Spyro as a kid but after a good amount of hype by a friend about the remaster I decided to give it a go and I'm glad I did.

    The gameplay in all three games is more or less the same and that is great because it's mostly good all across the board. The first game barely has any story, the second one tries a bit harder and the third maybe tries a bit too hard but none of that really matters because at their core these are collectathon games for kids and you only really need enough plot to make an excuse for all the running around you're gonna be doing.

    Spyro is fun if a bit shallow as a character and the world around him is interesting enough. When the games keep things simple it's a true joy to play but the problem is that they progressively try to put in more and more unnecessary mechanics and the more you play the more it starts feeling like a chore. At a certain point you are forced to play with other characters who aren't Spyro and they all control poorly and feel like an afterthought. The huge amount of annoying side missions and the growing amount of backtracking you have to go through the more you play is also a notable problem in the later games.

    While I would definitely recommend Spyro The Reignited Trilogy, I'd keep in mind that these are games for children after all and can become a bit too dull.

    One more thing - DO NOT play all three games one after the other like I did. I decided to go for a platinum run on all three games back to back and can surely say there is such a thing as "too much Spyro". By the end of "Year of The Dragon" I never wanted to see that purple little **** ever again.    … Expand

    the game would be fine if not for the god awful camera and controls, not to mention awkward and sudden difficulty spikes. the entire game is awkward and unbalanced. straight bad by today's standards and honestly the worst platforming motion controls ever.

Letting you take control of your character fully and really feeling like you are a dragon exploring a world bigger than our own. Still my favourite game, I cried from happiness when the reignited was announced and I have put more hours into this game than is probably healthy.     One of those games where you just dont want to think to hard, and just collect gems. Fun to zone out on and just play through. Beautiful art style and catchy music. Some of the mini-games in Spyro 3 were painful to play though.

    EXCEPT:

    Regarding Spyro 2 (Ripto's Rage):
    - They rerecorded Moneybags' voice lines with the voice actor from Spyro 3; It's still good, but the original voice actor for Moneybags was absolutely precious; He originally came off more like part of a bougie bourgeoisie, which showed the faults of his logic, but was still slightly endearing; The current voice actor's original role (3) made him more readily malicious for the sake of profit (which might be more accurate, but this is still a kid's game, essentially.); He literally imprisons your friends and then threatens to imprison you at one point.
    - They also rerecorded Hunter's voice. Originally, he came off like a stoner who kept forgetting to give you orbs and kept challenging you to games for them, which is kind of hilarious as an adult, and totally off-the-radar for kids. Again, the re-do isn't bad, but ultimately, RR lost a slight bit of it's charm here. It's still good, though! Elora and the Professor are at least as endearing as before.
    - Spyro's physics were originally different in Spyro 2 from 1 and 3. They applied the same physics to all three games, which is... not really a complaint, honestly. Spyro 2 was just one of my favorite games to speed-run and it doesn't operate the same here. It's inevitable.

    So ultimately, there's still a reason to buy the original Spyro 2. But aside from that, little differences like there being more grass to hide gems in, or more unique dragon designs, generally make this an improvement. This title did not stifle its spirit, and levels operate just as well as they originally did. I would say don't shun this if you're a fan, and give it a go if you've never tried it. Pretty fun game for kids, just going around, collecting treasures, helping magical creatures, looking for new areas.    … Expand

After several replays, I have realised I prefer the originals more. If you are new to Spyro or have not played any of the trilogy for years, then the reignited trilogy is an easy recommendation. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an accesible collection of three of gaming's greatest platformers and quite possibly the best looking and most impressive games on the PSX. This is a great way for kids and adults to start their journey with the franchise. For me and other fans, however, the originals will always be best and not just due to nostalgia. Although the reignited trilogy is not majorly glitchy, there is no denying the fair share of bugs present here, with some being game-breaking. The original trilogy was a much more polished experience. Some of the voice acting is another gripe I have with reignited. Despite Tom Kenny's return, the original character of Spyro is completely lost. Gone is the snarky, reluctant, 90's-era attitude, replaced with acting that wouldn't be out of place in Paw Patrol. This carries over to other characters to, especially Bianca, Hunter and the Sorceress. I personally loathe Hunter's new voice and character, but I digress. The direction is clearly at fault here as the actors who returned can still perform. The cutscenes also undermine the character of Spyro. A great example of this is the Summer Forest cutscene in Spyro 2. In the original, Spyro was not exactly pleased to be lumbered with the work he'd just been given. In Reignited, Spyro seems raring to go and behaves in a really cutesy way. While I am excited for the seemingly inevitable Spyro 4, I am a bit sad due to the Spyro franchise not really feeling like Spyro to me anymore? I loved the first two TFB skylanders games, but perhaps the now dissolved VV would of been a better choice for the trilogy due to their faithfulness to the originals (if NSane is anything to go off of.) Controls for Spyro are different but good, and Agent 9 and Sgt Byrd control MUCH better. New life has been breathed into these characters.

    Visually, the game looks great for the most part. I personally prefer the simplistic yet beautiful visuals of the original but this is just my preference. The lighting and random tint can look a bit strange in some areas. Some character designs, mainly enemies, are strange too. The Soundtrack is fully remastered, with tracks being made dynamic, which is a nice touch. Performance on PS4/Xbox One/Switch is... ok. The framerate drops below 30 quite often, and (optional) motion blur is excessive. The original Copeland masterpieces are included also and remain unrivaled. (Best OST's ever. Shush. ;))

    Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a nice little package for newcomers but may not fully satisfy long-time fans. Detractors of Reignited, such as myself, seem to be the minority so TFB must of done something right. There is no denying the value here, and children who may not have access to a PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita or an emulator will get to experience this incredible trilogy.

    The fact that only one game was on the disc at launch is disgusting and no doubt harmed the sales and developers. Hopefully this practise does not continue in the future.    … Expand

    I bought my PS4 only because of this game, was a great fan of the original trilogy many years ago, and still play it from time to time with emulators. It is unfortunately very visible that the developers didn't have access to he original code: everything is *almost* good. Graphics are stunning, music is great as always... but otherwise it feels like a step back from the originals. Maps are slightly different, by a few pixels: there are jumps and glides that I can make blindly in the original, but in the remake I struggle for 20 minutes. This might come from a bit different controls too.

    This is not a bad game at all - but don't bother, if you want to relive your childhood. But I think it is more entertaining for players not familiar with the original.    … Expand

    Beautiful remaster. I didn't have an opportunity to play the original Spyro, but I had a great fun playing the new version. It's a game for everyone: cute and not difficult for casual players, but also has a potential to master and make it 100%. Graphics is amazing, level design is well-thought and magical. Enjoyable and relaxing platformer

    A really beautiful and colorful jump n run adventure. Also a good example of how remakes should be. The only bad thing on this game is that it does not run at 60fps, which is important for fluid gameplay especially when playing jump‘n run like games. That’s why I can’t give this game 10 points.

Se da muchísimas mas libertades a diferencia del Crash que si jugaste al original, reconocerás todo el mapeado, enemigos, etc. a la primera. Ademas cuenta con la opción para poner el mapa en los 3 juegos, cosa que considero un gran acierto! Ya que no se porque en el original habían quitado el mapa en la tercera entrega y eso lo considere un punto negativo, pero en el remake lo han solucionado. Aunque algunos de los fallos del original siguen estando.... Ciertas misiones blandas, aburridas y parecidas entre si, navegación algo confusa, etc. No es como con el N Sane Trilogy que hicieron arreglos a nivel general como el incluir el modo contrarreloj en los 3 juegos, arreglar el sistema de guardado y la manera de obtener la gema en el primer juego, tener contador de cajas en el primer y segundo juego, las rondas bonus en la primera entrega, etc. Lo único que se nota que arreglaron como ya dije es el mapa y es algo que tendría que haber estado en los originales desde el principio. Al menos, como ya dije, Spyro Trilogy es un gran trabajo de remake, al igual que con otros remake, recomiendo jugar también al original, ya que ambos estilos artísticos te ofrecerán diferentes apreciaciones del entorno y experiencias. Puedo decir sin duda alguna que Spyro Reignited Trilogy es una de mis remasterizaciones/remake favoritas. Totalmente recomendado para los que jugaron al original como para los que no.… Expand

    Great remake. Beautiful, cute, nostalgic and more fun to play than ever. Game world is simply gorgeous. It does lose steam after the 1st game but thats due to the original 1st game being simpler but more focused than its follow ups. In my opinion, better remake than Crash N'Sane trilogy.

    Design fantastico, musiche spettacolari, si vede che c'è molto lavoro nei dettagli, gameplay favoloso, la trama dei tre giochi è molto asciutta (cosa che accade in molti platform). Unica pecca? La caratterizzazione dei personaggi è andata a quel paese: prima avevano una personalità molto più singolare che ti faceva ricordare tutti i personaggi secondari.     I have never played the original Spyro games because I only had an N64 at that time and no Playstation, so I have absolutely NO nostalgia for these game at all. That being said, the remaster really brought these games into the modern age because they look and play absolutely FANTASTIC. I am pretty unforgiving when it comes to camera and controls and I am pleased to say that there's really not that much to complain about here, minus a few exceptions like the hard-to-control dash when you're doing precise platforming or the skateboard trick controls in Spyro 3.

    These games are pretty easy, short, and light on story, which makes them a lot of fun to play in between more demanding titles. Rarely though, there's an insane difficulty spike. One particular boss in Spyro 2 especially comes to mind. This is also an occurence where the controls and camera unfortunately work against, instead of for you.

    Nevertheless, I'd say that overall, Spyro 2 is my favourite out of the bunch. The first one is a little bland and random and seems very "video-gamey" in general. The second game feels much more like an interconnected world; the levels and characters are very inspired, there's a little progression to each of them and unique missions inside; and the overworlds are a lot more atmospheric and intricate. There's now also a use for the tons of gems you collect all the time in the form of unlocking abilities. In the first game, you didn't even really know why you should collect gems, other than to get 100% completion.

    The third game tries to expand upon the second one and to one-up it with more playable characters, skateboarding (did Tony Hawk come out between the second and the third game by any chance?), and other little segments that are seperate from the main levels, but I have to say, while most of these are fun (the last skateboarding level can suck my d**k, though), they feel kind of unnecessary and tacked-on just for the sake of making a BIGGER sequel. Spyro 2 just feels more cohesive and inspired and, if I ever replay one of these games, it's probably going to be the second one. Also, what happened with the Rhynocs in the last world of Spyro 3? That was one of my favourite things about the game up until then, seeing the Rhynocs in different costumes for every level. In the last world, they just disappear for the most part and are replaced by regular enemies. What gives?

    Overall, these games are pure, simple video game fun. If you're looking for an intense challenge or an amazing story, you're going to have to look elsewhere. Spyro also never reaches the intricate platforming genius of the Mario titles. But if you're just looking to have a good, simple time for a few hours, you're absolutely in the right place.    … Expand

The gameplay resemples the 1st NOT the 2nd. there no cut scenes to the world and they tried to tell a story simmilar to 1 but Eggs instead of f=dragons. They also introduce 4 new playable characters(kangaroo,pinguin,monkey,yeti) 2 of them are fun to use and 2 not.The boss battles in compare to the Riptos Rage(2nd) really dropped the ball.

From wonderful graphics in unreal engine, to manyeaster eggs for Spyro fans, this game is full of them. I have played all three originals, and now I get to play them again! Animation is stunning! The whole game is stunning!
    PS. It's a weird thing to be amazed about, but you get to control Spyro in the travel-to-the-next-world screen! I mean, how cool is that? Easy 10/10    … Expand

    Spyro has back to PS4 in the great style! This game is totally AMAZING! I was stunned by the graphics and music! My favourite levels from Magic Crafters and Dream Weavers look soooooooo beautiiiiiiffuuuulllllll that I scream! I LOVE IT!

    Los escenarios son excelentes, en todo. Los Bosses son divertidos y, en general, el juego es tremendamente gracioso. Gracioso de verdad, no en un sentido tonto o forzado.

    Los niveles de vuelo pueden ser bastante difíciles si se quiere lograr el mejor tiempo/puntuación, pero son entretenidos. No puedo decir lo mismo de algunos mini-juegos que más que complicados son molestos: los niveles en que tenemos que usar la patineta son muy exasperantes e innecesarios, claramente una forma de alargar el producto original y que se mantuvo en el remake.

    Lo anterior me lleva a mi punto final: nunca trates de arreglar lo que no está roto. Spyro y Spyro 2 son estupendos, pero Spyro 3 hace uso de algunas mecánicas que no eran necesarias (como lo mencionado arriba), y en general está un peldaño abajo que sus predecesores.
    Me parece desagradable que tenga personajes extras y niveles de relleno a costa de cortar las cinemáticas a inicio y final de cada nivel que tenía Spyro 2.

    No es mal juego, pero no está a la altura de la aventura contra Ripto.

    SONIDO:
    Tiene un buen audio. Las canciones de cada nivel son buenas y los efectos cumplen con su propósito.

    GRÁFICOS:
    Su estilo visual es hermoso, muy colorido y con mucho contraste. Todos los mundos y su variedad, así como la gigantesca variedad de enemigos, son una gozada visual. Las cinemáticas son perfectas (además de muy graciosas, como ya lo dije).

    Hay algunos escenarios en particular que se llevan las palmas: esa Tierra de los Hechiceros en Spyro 1, por ejemplo.

    INNOVACIÓN:

    Three great games from PS1 era with first one being the best. Third is quite buggy so didn't finish it, platinumed other two. Only first game is on the disc, you need to download 2nd and 3rd game. Also, no subtitles, that was quite a disappointment for a 2018 release from AAA publisher. I rate 1st game 9, 2nd and 3rd are 7-8 range. Because of publisher stuff and bugs on 3rd game I rate it 7/10

    Great game, but framerate is just awful. Having played this game on both pc and ps4, ps4 version is mediocre in my view. 60 fps should be the norm for such a fast paced game. Loved the pc version, but this is just awful.

    Activision and Toys for Bob, thank you so much for this masterpiece and for making me relieve my childhood memories. This is absolutely FANTASTIC. I really wish more games like this were released nowadays. And the switch port is just so well done, never believed the switch could output such amazing graphics. 10/10. A love letter to Spyro fans and platform game fans in general.

    the games are fun, don't get me wrong, but without nostalgia-glasses on, one has to admit the gameplay is a bit dated, better suited in the time platformer/adventure games like these were fresh and new - in the late 90's.

    Having the lovable purple dragon back still feels surreal but true it is! These three faithful remasters bring back that childhood joy in a big way. The gameplay has held up incredibly well and the new graphical style is very pretty. I did get a bit tired of the fairly simple Spyro formula by the third game which is the weakest of the trilogy any way, but still, this remastered trilogy isHaving the lovable purple dragon back still feels surreal but true it is!     Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been a joy to play through and platinum on the PS4. Visuals are gorgeous and controls are tight and feel like the originals. My only negative is the 30 FPS and slight dips in framerate but that should absolutely NOT deter you from buying the trilogy. Highly recommend.

    Then the intro. Where's that shining and floating golden letters on the 'Dragon Shores' gate? Damn, they were fascinating.
    Old game kept you focused on expressive characters, gems, orbs and gates, in this new you don't know where to start looking. Overdetalised character faces merge with overly detailed terrain. It feels like designer couldn't stop his pencil on wacom display to add more and more.
    I even didn't get what's happening in intro, so later I went back to ps1 youtube video to make sense.

    First run.

    Throwing flames doesn't give such satisfaction.
    Originally, each flame felt like you throw a fist and it faces terrain with a distinctive sound and push of head.
    You feel how you punch enemies with fire. You feel how you blow baskets and vases. You felt like you burst and smash.
    Nowadays, it feels like it's made of paper and flame bursts out of Spyro like a gentle gas burner.
    Timings between bursts have been decreased and you can literally spam with fires around. Moving camera would move the burst in air, making it easy to burn out whatever you see without being satisfied that you got a precise hit, knocked off and won the fight.

    Orbs. Orbs is the main charm and obsession in this game, when you chase a quest and looking forward to a reward.
    Remember that moments, when an Orb jumps up and down with Spyro's head following it (proving it's precious metal compound and real weight), and that feeling of your overwhelming joy? When they gift it to you out of pocket. And then that zzap sound with Zoe?

    It's not there anymore. They don't even feel it. Orb just static and disappear in the air, and no more that famous zzap sounds. It feels like chinese replica. You feel cheated there as someone kicks your childhood memories.

    Gems. After level is finished, they don't show off and fly all to your chest. Their counter just decrease with timer and that's all. LMAO, are you lazy? You must be whipped for this.

    The fundamental satisfactions is broken.

    Gems picking up sound is not as bright as old one. Vase blow out sound not that smashy. 'Colossus' level sing is nonsense. Water is not that transparent. View through Gates is foggy and not charming.

    Pause menu design tells you there's no more genius hands on this game. It's like freelancer did mobile menu, while it was a white book with moving pages.
    Passive camera by default, motion blur until March 2019 patch.
    Who on the earth could make this with Spyro?

    Honestly they should had been make 1 with 2 and then optionally release 3, since first two requires big efforts and they carry all the fame to PlayStation platform.

    Extremely frustrated since I do realize they won't make any changes anymore.

    Spyro was always my favourite platformer/colletathon series, and this enhanced package is everything I could have hoped for. The graphics are nothing short of stunning, the atmosphere is perfectly captured and gameplay is tweaked ever so slightly for that quality-of-life improvement neglected by the recent Crash remakes. However, by sticking almost too rigidly too its original format, theSpyro was always my favourite platformer/colletathon series, and this enhanced package is everything I could have hoped for. The graphics are nothing short of stunning, the atmosphere is perfectly captured and gameplay is tweaked ever so slightly for that quality-of-life improvement neglected by the recent Crash remakes. However, by sticking almost too rigidly too its original format, the age of the game style shows a little and playing through all three entries becomes a bit of a slog by the end.

    Spyro the Dragon is the simplest and least showy of the trilogy, and has such a distinct feel about it, with recurring visual flair. The world are a little bit less lively than its sequels but the revamped, unique dragons are one of the best parts of Reignited for me.

    Ripto's Rage is probably the best entry, expanding infinitely on its predecessor in terms of detail, characters and especially world design. While it succeeds in variety, it loses a bit in atmosphere, as the wolds sometimes don't make sense when placed side-by-side, but the wildly inventive challenges far outstrip the lack of consistency. Some trials (ice popcorn and railway cart spring to mind) are absolutely infuriating in this entry, be warned!

    Year of the Dragon is the final entry and is the most gimmicky, allowing you to play as a variety of crazy characters which is great fun but often detracts from the core Spyro mechanics/gameplay loop. Again, it's far more exciting and varied than the original, but by this stage my patience was wearing a bit thin!

    A word of advice - tackle each of the games with a break in between to break up the monotony and stop yourself poking holes in the admittedly solid gameplay loop! This said, these remakes are lovingly crafted and more than make up for the lackluster Crash series last year. Collecting absolutely everything in the game is easier and more satisfying than ever, and you'll net three platinum trophies in no time compared to other games!     The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a wonderful collection of classic platformers that have been re-made to perfection. The controls are tight, the worlds are gleaming with colour and the variety of the gameplay keeps it consistently fun. It'll appeal not just for the fans of the series, but for newcomers too. A real treat.

The imagination I had with the world and characters of Spyro became reality with stunning sounds and visuals,The guys at Toys for Bob did an absolutely fantastic job reviving one of my favorite game franchises of all time. The imagination I had with the world and characters of Spyro became reality with stunning sounds and visuals, gorgeous backgrounds, and beautifully recreated character models that made this lovable cast even more lovable. This trilogy has always been a masterpiece for me, and now it's been given a definitive treatment for the generations who come after mine to love and enjoy as a true timeless classic. Minus some occasional frame rate glitches, these games felt exactly as amazing to me now as they did when I was young, and that means the team behind it did everything right.     Fantastic, flawless remake! I had a blast 100%-ing all three games. For fans of 3D platforming this is a must buy! 30-40h of fun (and some frustration of course) guaranteed.

    Like the N-Sane trilogy, this game does a good job recreating the originals, but it suffers due to it's datedness. I prefer it to the N-Sane trilogy though, as I prefer Spyro's playstyle.

    Spyro is a personal favorite of mine. It is very fun to play, and there is no nonsense. The cutscenes aren't too long. The platforming mechanics are a blast, and the simple combat is really satisfying even though it's easy sometimes. Because of the great game-play, I was able to look past the downside of having to download a large file in order to play the second and third games. Only theSpyro is a personal favorite of mine.     I have to say i'm dissappointed by this "Remaster" as i feel all the good parts have been replaced by cheap assets. I'm talking about the music, sounds and character voices. All used to be very funny yet serious enough to be gripped. Toys for Bob decided to remove it all (except for the original music, that's still optionally available) and replace it with boring almost unhearable crap. The characters now look and sound as if they were ripped out of a lazy kids show.

    And what's even more surprising is that they didn't fix any of the original problems! The camera is still a wrestling match to properly use, and somehow gems are now harder to pick up.

    After playing for ten hours i realised all that was done was a new paintjob for a quick buck. I can still enjoy the game as it's core gameplay is still intact, but it's sad to see a lesser version of a game i used to treasure.

I was curious when I saw a huge update start downloading when I installed the game but thought nothing of it and eagerly started playing the first Spyro. So now I have to wait for my sloth of a internet connection to finish downloading before I can even play the next two titles I PAID FOR!

    Besides that the First Spyro game was awesome! I enjoyed every minute of it and loved how the dragons were redone. Platformer games have their obvious draw backs and frustrations but overall a very enjoyable experience. The environments are well done and the music is just how I remember it but modernized. I loved how the revamped the enemies and update the audio for them while still maintaining that retro feel.

    This game would receive a higher score if ALL THREE GAMES WERE ON THE DISC! Yet again a company promises one thing and delivers short of it. Instead of it being call a "Trilogy" they should of packaged it as "Spyro the Dragon" because that is the only game you can play with a disc copy!    … Expand

    Spyro Reignited Trilogy is maybe the greatest celebration of a classic - ever! Gameplay still holds up, graphics are beyond gorgeous and nostalgia hits you hard, yet it feels like a first time experience. Unlike some old-school odysseys that promise warm nostalgia, reignited trilogy delivers burning hot blast from the past - for the future!

    Reignited Trilogy looks like a Pixar movie and proves that while many other genres have changed significantly over the last 20 years, the recipe for an enjoyable platformer stayed the same, at least in many aspects. Of course nowadays people expect more from any game and Spyro does feel archaic but its wise design stood the test of time, especially if you look at the remake through the eyes of a child (either literally or metaphorically).
