    Das Spiel wird ab ein gewissen Punkt sehr öde. Die Gags fande ich fast alle gut die ich so gehört habe und die Bossfights fande ich leider ziemlich langweilig

    A very good remake of the PS2 classic. I had a lot of fun with this game. This is a modern version of a game from the golden era of 3D platformers. Also I like that they used the same voices from the animated series in the Latin American Spanish version. The graphics are really nice. Can't wait to play Cosmic Shake.

    The game doesn't even have invincibility after getting hit. Which means when you get hit by an enemy it just keeps hitting you and knocking you back 10 feet and you'll have to redo sections over and over and over and over again. If you want actual challenge, play something like Crash, which is actually precise and fair. The user scores here are insane.

    The game is faithful to the original and no flaws can be seen here. The game has been graphically adapted to the current console generation and Spongebob and his friends have never looked so good.
    The original voice actors from the series are also back, which makes the    Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is a worthy remake of the classic game for Playstation 2.

    As for the gameplay, this is a normal platformer with collectibles. You collect golden spatulas and Patrick's socks in various locations known from the series: The Jellyfishfields, the Goolagoon and more.
    The game is great for Spongebob fans young and old.

    It's really everything one would want and expect from a proper remake. It plays just like the classic PS2 game with much improved visuals. This game is so colorful and just a delight to look at and play. It's a great choice for any 3D platforming fan!

    THE HORRENDOUS BALL SEGMENT!!! -Such a disgusting, terrible, repulsive level design that is legit harder than playing uncharted on crushing. I lost an hour of my life to this stupid segment. The fact that they legit made this a mandatory thing to do is stupendous.

Bikini Bottom has never felt so empty, so lifeless, and this is with the amount of underpants, robots and random NPC's crammed into every nook and cranny of each level.     Not a great remake, yes it has better graphic and looks amazing but the new animation still look stale, as well as some of the game play. Sliding is no longer fun, the removed certain things to the original (like mrs puffs close up), and the multiplayer is horrible. Yes, if you don’t own a older console this is good to play, but compared to the original it’s bad.

    It's not a bad game, it's fun, and colorful, with decent animations and voice acting. The problem with this game is that's annoyingly outdated to the point, where you need to do the same part over and over and over again, because of technical limitations. The limitations that I rarely see in modern platform games (e.g. Ratchet and Clank). It's ok to play, but I wouldn't put it as the first choice.

    Such a great game. I got the platinum trophy, so I have seen everything that the game can offer and I think it's one of the best 3D platform games I've ever played. The original one was fantastic, but this one is so much better. The graphics and the atmosphere are just stunning, you feel like you were actually in Bikini Bottom. Simply a great remake of a great game. 10/10

    This is a very faithful remaster of a game from a different time. I thoroughly enjoyed it as the controls feel tight, the levels are well designed and collecting the items is always satisfying. It surprised me that I enjoyed this so much. Well worth a try.

    I never played the original version of this game and I'm sure that if i did play it or had this remaster as a child I would of loved it. I loved SpongeBob growing up and I do enjoy me some 3d collecthons. And I can say that this game seems really great for children not super hard but still some decent challenge at some points even for an adult. One last thing id like to bring up that really bothered me they didn't get the original voice actors for Mr. Krabs or Mermaid man for the original game and they used the same audio here. And I really wish they got the original actors to rerecord these lines because oh my god are they distracting. Mr. Krabs I got used to but Mermaid man is so bad and I have no idea how they went with this it sounds nothing like him.… Expand

    As a sucker for PS2 era collectathon platformers Battle for Bikini Bottom is right down my alley. It's perfect if you just want to turn your brain off and enjoy the brutally saturated environments and childish plot for a few hours.
    There really isn't anything special about it but it manages to do just about everything well enough for it to be a fun experience.

    After a couple of hours of playing, I started to see the cracks and I do think that the game wasn't treated with the care you'd expect a remake to have, and, while I haven't played the original, it doesn't feel like much was added besides the updated graphics, which is a crying shame because when you play the game it actually feels like you're playing a ps2    This game is pretty mediocre.

But it really sells with the voice acting because they pretty much got the whole cast to come back except for Mr Krabs and Mermaid Man don’t know why but they don’t sound good at all, but Tom Kenny, Bill **** Rodger Bumpass, Mr Lawrence, and Carolyn Lawrence all return as there characters and it takes my nostalgia feelings to skyrocket. But there are some complaints I have one is in the Spongebob’s Dream Level and it involves the Mr Krabs level, ITS SO **** BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY BULLSHAT ROBOTS THAT YOU HAVE TO KILL IN ORDER FOR THE KRABBY PATTY INGREDIENTS TO FLOAT DOWN SO YOU CAN KILL THE GENERATORS THAT ARE SPAWNING THE ROBOTS. ok I’m done.     This right here is a great and faithful Remastered. This is how Remastereds should be done. Even if you're not into Spongebob that much, its still a fun and challenging Plattformer.

Ich habe nichts gegen Bugs, aber GameBreak-Bugs gehen bei mir immer zu weit. Vielleicht ist es inzwischen gepatcht, weil trotz allem hatte ich natürlich viel Spaß mit dem Spiel.

In 2007 Halo had an awesome co-op campaign. spongebob with a nice cast of characters, of course they gave the kids a good co-op campaign to play with, right? Сюжет: Хочется сказать пару слов о самой завязки сюжета игры. По моему скромному мнению, сюжет основанный на битве против роботов никак не подходит под тематику игры по Губки Бобу.     Сюжет:
    Хочется сказать пару слов о самой завязки сюжета игры. По моему скромному мнению, сюжет основанный на битве против роботов никак не подходит под тематику игры по Губки Бобу. Но, учитывая тот факт, что по другому идею для игры, по данному мультсериалу, не придумаешь, простительно. А если уже говорит про саму историю, то стартует за здравие, а заканчивает за упокой. Вся концовка слита в унитаз.
    Управление:
    Игра очень не плохо адаптирована под клавиатуру и мышку. (Хотел бы я сказать). Вот только вся прелесть прохождения игры на клавиатуре ощущается прекрасно до момента, когда доходишь до гонок. Мне пришлось ближе к финалу брать уже геймпад, потому что пройти гонки без него уже было просто невозможно.

    Техническая часть игры:
    Всё больше и больше играя, было ощущение что это не ремейк игры, а просто рескин старой игрухи . В игре куча багов их просто тьма. Ниже приложу пару скришотов.

    Отсылки и юмор:

    Чем дальше проходил, тем больше отсылок к сериям из мультсериала находил. К примеру, картины из домов персонажей отсылают к тем или иным событиям в мульте. Кстати как подмечал itpedia, юмор в игре так же основан на взаимоотношениях персонажей из сериала. К примеру, про получение прав Губки Боба у Миссис Паф.

    В заключении хочу сказать, что игра понравиться исключительно фанатам Губки Боба и платформеров. Хотелось бы подметить, что игра атмосферная и так и погружает тебя в Бикини Ботом. Однозначно рекомендую к прохождению.

The rating that big company's give are unfair, it pains me to say this as a BfBB OG this game is good, but not what I expected.     When I was a kid, I really loved to play this game on PS2. It was one of my favorite games.
    Playing Spongebob on PS4 was kind of disappointing, because the game isn't perfect. There are some problems...Even the graphics aren't very good for a PS4 game (many items don't have shadows, for example).
    However, "Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated" is very fun to play.

    Movement feels smoother with stretch-and-squish animation that was impossible to achieve in the original, and rough patches like the ball puzzle in The Mermalair or the slow boss battles have been overhauled to a point that makes the classic version truly feel its age.

    The only let-down is the contents of the Reef theater in the third section of Bikini Bottom. The original showcased concept art and cut ideas, whereas Rehydrated essentially has a handful of screenshots from the game. This is hardly a complaint, and hold little rein over m overall thoughts.

    Given that this is out on all major platforms (and for only $30) there really isn't an excuse not to pick it up.

    THQNordic and PurpleLamp managed to enhance a beloved cult-classic while keeping what made the original great in the first place intact, and made this THE BEST DAY EVER!    … Expand

    It’s a fun game to just relax a bit and not think about your next move. You just go out and enjoy. The game
    is simple and easy, fun to navigate around. For trophy hunters this is also an easy platinum to add to your collection.

    The game is definitely tailored to younger audiences even though the original game came out in 2003. I understand wanting to attract a younger audience as Spongebob is a character liked by adults and children alike. However seeing as this cult classic game did come out in 2003, it would make sense to try to tailor to the players of the original too. This doesn’t appear to be the case.

    Firstly I want to say this could just be my Switch hardware, but the graphics of the remaster are extremely poor compared to what the trailers had promised. I know that what was shown in most trailers was PS4 and Xbox footage but I found some Switch promotional materiel and the finished game is no where near as graphically polished as this material. I even had to find a cut-scene online as my game glitched and skipped an early game cut-scene, that was within 10 minutes of starting to play this game and from that moment on I realised my expectations for this game had been far too high.

    The gameplay is interesting for the first 20 minutes and then becomes boring and repetitive the platforming is clunky and uninspired and worst of all are the enemies. There is no extensive variation to the enemies so you continue to use the boring controls with the same combinations to defeat these enemies with ease as most only have one thing you need to avoid before being able to defeat them in 1 hit.

    The Boss battles, if that’s what they can be called also follow the same theme, they have very few lives, making them no challenge at all once you work out how to avoid them once it’s simple to do again. This just adds to the sense of boredom when playing this game there isn’t even a difficulty setting for if you want to try it on a more challenging experience. There are however a few things I did severely enjoy about this game.

    Having watched Spongebob my entire childhood I am very fond of the show and remember lots of cameo appearances and to see some translate into the game was a nice nostalgic trip for me. Also being a fan of the show I cannot fault the soundtrack for the game it reminds me of all of the hilarious episodes I watched as a child and some are stuck in my head since playing. Another enjoyable aspect of the game is the voice acting, with most of the original cast returning it’s a nice continuation for fans of the show, however there is a very noticeable omission, in that Mr Krabs is not the original voice actor and to any fans of the show it’s a very obvious alteration.

    Overall, aside from the actual nostalgia of playing something new in the Spongebob universe there is nothing of note to pull anyone towards this game, and especially if you’re looking at getting a platformer on Switch save up a bit more and buy the stellar Super Mario Odyssey.

    The game's visuals are stunning, but the bugs are inevitable. I had been playing this game for like 10 minutes and i have found the first bug. The game has really bad collision. The developers wanted to cram so much into this game that is too overwhelming to the point that is bad level design. I had beaten this game and I can clearly say that it is bad.

    great game but too many bugs to care about i appreciate all the wasted time to platinum this thing i gave the devs plenty of time to address the game breaking spatula glitches and after two updates... shocker folks... not fixed so I fixed it myself by throwing it away.     I'm scratching my head wondering if the game I played was the same one critics were given. Outside of some minor grievances, this is the best platformer I have played in a long while. I'd stick in on the shelf next to the Spyro remakes. I'd recommend it to anyone that loves platforming, young and old alike.

That just tells me that is nostalgia talking. I say this as a guy that has grown up and played the original countless times. When this game was first announced I was stoked to see a ground-up remake of such a niche little platformer. Now that it's finally in my possession, I did end up having mixed feelings about the whole thing. Where the game was able to make improvements in some areas, it failed to do so with others. It's a shame, because had this game been given more time we would have had something on par with that of the Crash and Spyro remakes.

    To get some negative points out of the way, and this is honestly a personal gripe of mine, but it honestly is a bummer that the game did not get re-recorded dialogue and revamped music. I understand the mentality of not wanting to change what people fondly remember, but obviously Crash and Spyro did not have to adhere to that. Much of the game's original voice cast is still with the show to this very day so it wouldn't have been that difficult to re-record the script with them (we could have even had Clancy Brown come back as Mr. Krabs). And while the music itself is perfectly serviceable, it could have definitely benefited from some snazzy remixes to really make it feel that much special. You can even just toggle between the originals and the remixes and that would have been great too. Some of the physics are noticeably different as well, ranging from more subtle things like Sandy's lasso swinging to more blatant examples like a teetering rock in Jellyfish Fields that just refuses to let me jump off of. That's really only a minor problem since that isn't a constant issue, but it's still noticeable. It's also weird how the game is missing certain animations from the original, has far more frequent and lengthy load times and texture pop-in. This game lacks much needed polish, and it feels like it ended up this way just so it could have coincided with the new SpongeBob Movie's original release date before getting pushed back.

    Really, most of my gripes primarily stem from a technical level. I have no doubt that a few of these issues can be easily patched out, but I'm going to review the product as was originally sold to me. What this game improves upon is more aesthetics than anything else. Aside from the aforementioned texture pop-in, the game looks super colorful and bouncy, and the redone cutscenes do enough to play like a proper 3-D episode of the show. Areas like Jellyfish Fields and SpongeBob's Dream really benefit the most from the graphical facelift. They even managed to throw in some SpongeBob memes while they were at it because of course they would. While I'm disappointed that the dialogue wasn't re-recorded, it's still solid stuff with plenty of memorable quotes to this day.

    At its core, BfBB is a collect-a-thon platformer in the same vein as Mario and Banjo. You collect the macguffins to progress through each area. The controls are still solid, there's some pretty fun and creative platforming challenges with enough variety to keep things from getting stale. Combat isn't all that fun and the boss fights are pathetic, but you're not really playing the game for that. While there is certainly not much special about it from a gameplay perspective, what made the original so beloved was the fact that it was a licensed video game that gave a damn. Finding a solid licensed game at all is a rarity, so for BfBB to reach this level of cult status is a testament to how much the original developers cared about what they were making.

    You're level of enjoyment with this game is going to be primarily determined by your attachment to the original. If you have never experienced BfBB before, I recommend waiting for this to go on sale and for some of the extra kinks to get ironed out. If you are a fan of the original, as long as you aren't expecting real overhauls to the core game, then this will be right up your alley. Me, I was certainly expecting much more from this. It feels much more like a clumsy "remaster" than a "remake". It has a nice facelift, but not much else. A solid enough game, but if you still have your original copy lying around I wouldn't trade it in.    … Expand

    this game is very good. I think many of the "professional" critics thought this was just a game for kids and didn't take it seriously. that's unfortunate. if you're looking for fun in a videogame, Spongebob BBB is a great choice.

    Great graphics and an excellent game for kids. The multiplayer mode should have been better made, it‘s just survival mode which is constantly easy. Should have been a coop mode or a boss rush coop mode.

    I’ve gone on record to say that “SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom” was one of my favorite childhood games. I played it a lot as a kid, mostly just goofing off and playing random sections of the game for fun. When I finally fully beat the game back in 2017, I found that it aged really well, and that even if the game borrowed heavily from platformers like “Super Mario 64” and “Banjo-Kazooie,” it was still an extremely fun game that felt very faithful to the “SpongeBob SquarePants” license. Not long after I beat the game, THQ Nordic made the announcement that they were partnering with Nickelodeon to bring back old games. That announcement alone got me excited, as THQ’s old catalogue of Nickelodeon games were in heavy rotation in my childhood, and I was ready to see what would come of this. The possibilities were endless, and there were plenty of games I was hoping would get brought back, but I can’t be the only one whose first thought was an HD re-release of “Battle for Bikini Bottom.” And sure enough, a year later, that was announced. I was really excited when it was announced, and despite some mixed early reception, I was still interested in giving the game a shot. And honestly, even though I was looking forward to it already, I was honestly surprised; I don’t think I anticipated enjoying this re-creation as much as I did.
“SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated” is a re-creation that doesn’t exactly rebuild the original game: much of the gameplay feels similar to the original game, as the changes I’ve noticed feel centered around the change in visuals. While most of the gameplay remains the same, I don’t think that’s much of a bad thing: the gameplay in the original has aged nicely, the controls still feel fluid, and a lot of the most frustrating moments of the original game are actually fixed: I found the Mermalair’s ball puzzle much less stressful this time, and I found that levels such as Rock Bottom and Kelp Forest were much easier and more fun to traverse here (could also help that the increased lighting made things better). The visual upgrade itself is also fantastic: I was a bit iffy on it at first, but the colors are extremely bold and just pop off of the screen here. The new animations are also a joy to look at, and make the game feel more visually polished than the original game. Furthermore, I think that a lot of what made the original game so charming remains here: the fun storyline, the humorous characters, the energetic collection aspects of the game, and the clever callbacks and references to the show (complete with a few new ones to highlight the show’s growth in meme status) make this a “SpongeBob SquarePants” game with a clear respect for its source material, and its original release as well.
Now, I won’t say the game is perfect: a part of me wishes that some of the voice acting got updated a bit. For the most part, the voice clips consist of lines in the original game, and a few unused recordings that were left in the files of the original game back in the day. I am nitpicking a bit, and I understand some characters would be harder to re-record, but I did wish if nothing else that Clancy Brown came back to re-record Mr. Krabs’ lines for the game, instead of keeping the imitator from the original game. Speaking of unused content, while I do appreciate that they wanted to implement some of the cut content from the original game by putting Robo-Squidward into the new Horde Mode, I think the new mode does feel a bit uninspired, and I do think it can dull out a bit quickly.
    Other than those, though, I was very pleasantly surprised with “SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated,” and I will say it definitely brought back those great memories that I’ve had playing the original game for much of my life. Even if it feels like the same game to some, I think there are some nice subtle improvements to the original that help this one to play better (and naturally, it looks better), and I must say this was an impressive, faithful “Rehydration” of one of my favorite childhood games. I’m very excited to see what THQ Nordic does next with their Nickelodeon partnership.

    Although the gameplay and character models feel refreshed (Patrick’s limbs are delightfully floppy), the level design pales when compared to newer 3D platformers. Fully remade,2 including a remastered soundtrack, Battle For Bikini Bottom proves to be fun on a technical level, but the barren worlds, many NPCs you cannot interact with, and vexing objectives (the rolling ball in Mermaid Man’s lair, anybody?) make it fun and frustrating in equal measure. Fans won’t want to leave this one at the bottom of the sea. [Issue#178, p.82]

    Lots of charm and lots of content, still worth the investment if you’re a nostalgic soul, looking for a fresh dose of bikini bottom action. Some aspects - the amount of texture pop-in, to name one - undeniably feel a bit dated, though.
