Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a prime example of sequel done right. A few technical issues that highlight the mid-line entry of the game don’t dampen the experience. The sniping, its core tenet, is where the money is. About half a mile away, in someone’s head. Go and get your money’s worth.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a particularly good sniping game. The set up is a hammy take on how superpower interventions only occur when there is a financial motivation, and comes off as a little bit awkward, but the game's regions are unique and fun to explore, enemies are tough to handle, and the challenges are fun to master. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 should be a go to for sniper game fans.

Rather complete and benefiting from a significant visual improvement, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has been able to emancipate itself from its predecessor without denigrating it. While remaining faithful to the principles of the first episode, this sequel relies on immersive and spectacular ultra-long-distance spots. The developers have chosen a path that may not appeal to everyone, but in our opinion, these sequences provide additional variety. The free phases, between action and infiltration, are still present and the overall experience is very solid. CI Games is mastering its subject more and more and demonstrating it once again.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is an accomplished sequel. It builds on the first game in meaningful ways, expanding the scope of its gameplay while also being more accessible to newcomers. It remains great fun visiting one of the classic regions and figuring out the best ways to complete its available contracts, while the new long-range contract regions complement them very well, offering a different type of sniping challenge. Better yet, despite being released at a budget price, it has the look and feel of a AAA game. Needless to say, if you’re keen to do some armchair sniping, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 deserves to be in your game collection.

Boring narrative aside, Sniper Elite Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is superb at delivering its bread and ballistics gameplay. Focused purely on the art of the kill, CI Games has crafted numerous detailed sandboxes to become the ultimate long-distance predator inside of, resulting in a game that forges ahead and doubles down on its own unique brand of hold-your-breath gunplay. Pure cathartic and exhilarating action with every squeeze of the trigger.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a step up for CI Games and the franchise. Running much better than its predecessor and finding the right gameplay formula, the experience is a fun one that allows you to turn your brain off and just let loose, sniping some fools from a cliffside. Whilst not amazing, I am hopeful for the future of the franchise and where CI Games takes it.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 pushes the series forward without making any great changes to its core. The writing is rubbish but the sniping is brilliant, and everything else in between is good enough to warrant this shooter a second glance.

Despite a few small steps forward, the fact that Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 indulges in the same mistakes has led us to penalize it.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a tactical shooter that hits the mark and uses well-proven gameplay mechanics, but doesn't offer much more than the previous chapter.

A step ahead for the lovers of sniping games, but for the future we hope to see something more unique and distinctive for the franchise.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a title that continues the path started by its predecessor, placing the thrill of a mercenary sniper’s life in a simple, linear and somewhat bland story. A rather predictable but all in all enjoyable experience, with some limitations (and some oddities) in artificial intelligence and an average graphics/sound department.

Contracts was a great step ahead for the Sniper Ghost Warrior series, and this sequel is even better. Sniping is fun, and we like the open level design, but there are still some technical issues with AI, loading times and several bugs.

While Ghost Warrior Contracts is nothing extraordinary and does not evolve the genre in any particular way, it still offers a pleasant experience to both fans of the series and the genre.

Continuist sequel that fans of the first game will appreciate. A unique experience at its highest difficulty levels when we have the sniper rifle in our hands, and another more traditional and less inspired in the rest.

Contracts 2 nails everything around being a sniper, but feels a bit more flawed when it comes to the rest of mechanics. However, if you like the series, you’ll have a good time with it.

SGW: Contracts 2 is another relatively mediocre title in an overly long franchise of sniper sim games. It has some creative level design and great sniping moments when assassinating long-range targets, but it still remains an overly generic FPS game with lacklustre mission design and terrible AI.

You could very well take any review of the previous Contracts game, paste it in the sequel and read a completely accurate description of Contracts 2. It’s hard to notice any improvement or differentiation of the formula between those two games, other than an understanding that you are taking part in different missions, albeit in a very familiar setting.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 blows off a heck of a lot of heads, but never managed to blow my mind. Its long range sniper shots feel genuinely satisfying to pull off, but the enemy AI is so dimwitted it almost seems cruel to kill them. With an upgrade system that’s largely skippable and mostly uninspired mission challenges, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a competent sniper sim that lacks the edge required to be a real sharpshooter.

Same shit, different day. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has its moments, at times turning into an enjoyable shooter with wonderful graphics - as long as you're playing on PS5, that is. Inconsistent AI and frustrating scenarios however - as well as resolution and framerate issues; if you're on PS4 - ultimately drag down the experience into severe mediocrity.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is good for a short time, not a long time. What could have been a glorious game full of compelling contracts and challenging assassinations gets muddied by boring regions that are just begging to be filled with objectives to make them seem worthwhile. Instead, you’ll spend more time walking around than actually sniping the baddies. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 feels unsure of whether it can truly be a strong sniper simulator so instead it tries to outgun other FPS and assassination games – unfortunately, despite it’s fun sniping gunplay, it misses the mark on both.

Carefully engineered sniper action that’s let down by frequent departures into close combat, exposing weak gunplay and a lack of polish.

Mission introsI'm only on the first actual mission and many of the annoyances from the first game are present, along with some new ones. Mission intros can't be skipped, dumb enemy AI, terrible map, enemies can hit hit back from over 1000 m with assault rifles, poor dialogue, long loading times...and the game autosaves way too frequently so you may have to redo an entire mission to correct one mishap. I've already become stuck twice, once on a rock and once on a shooting platform i.e. can't change stance and can only go in a circle on the spot. This game has been a long time coming and to see it with the bad features of the first installment and so buggy is disappointing. Full Review »

a great game, as concept, as gameplay.
notable issue is the AI, that goes from totally idiotic (guys talking, one headshot and the others goes around bored) to impossible detection from 500m and game over...from mob with an AK.

But the 5/10 is for the main thing in a first person game: aiming.
    using a controller is PAINFUL.
This is not a game for a console.
