Not a bad game for what it is has some fun gimmicks to it, and it feels very fluid. The game is a solid game if you are looking to play something just for a short while

Unless at first look the game seems empty, it has something more to offer.

Addictive couch gameplay. Nice hats. More WTF monsters. Much more WTF monsters! Interesting achievements.

    Oh, poor brains.

Yet another shmup and yet another 'indie' game, but combined. Filled with obligatory 'retro feel' and 'geeky' jokes and pop culture references.

This is a nice touch, but the number of modifiers is surprisingly low. I was honestly expecting more.

All in all, this is a nice harmless game. Online would've been nice, but understandably laggy. Maybe a mode where one player plays the fish, and the other a GM that spawns the enemies and shop items?

Honestly I feel as if these days every new 'indie' game developed is made halfheartedly, and is just trying to ride on the success of popular trends. I wish these type of developers used their sideline status to try unique and interesting features. Get really ambitious and out there.

Coupled with the unique upgrade mechanics and the occasional chuckle you’ll get just from the sheer craziness on-screen, I can recommend Shutshimi to anyone looking for an easy game to waste time with.

Shutshimi is a lot of fun and genuinely funny.

Developer Neon Deity Games' spirited rejection of video-game balance almost qualifies as avant garde.
