Oct 22, 2015If you’re a fan of the Budokai Tenkaichi series and are looking for a new fighter in the same cloth, a fan of anime looking for a new series to get into (it’s on Netflix), or just a fan of fighters looking for something other than Mortal Kombat to play with a friend, I’d say this one is definitely worth a look.
-
Oct 1, 2015Not a brilliant fighting game, although Saint Seiya fans will find many nice things in it.
-
Oct 20, 2015Compared to Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers, Soldiers' Soul does not offer as much additional content nor as many corrections as we would have liked; it cannot stand as a complete sequel from its predecessor and it could be considered more as an update of it. However and at least in the Latin-American region, the localization and dubbing process that the game game received has made it a completely different experience than the previous games. It’s a title that die-hard fans of the series will enjoy and love despite its flaws and errors.
-
Oct 20, 2015Saint Seiya Soldiers' Soul is the classic more of the same, with a bunch of new characters and items added to the contents of the previous game. The combat system is fun and entertaining, but the lack of any kind of balance between the fighters can ruin the overall experience.
-
Oct 19, 2015Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul is an enjoyable fighting game that fans of the manga/anime series will absolutely love. Non-fans might be overwhelmed by its story and slightly hard gameplay.
-
Oct 15, 2015Another generic title from Dimps, Soldiers' Soul has little to offer that hasn't been seen before, but the Latin American localization really takes this to another level for the numerous fans from those regions. Apart from that, little to no novelties and a recycled storyline signify little more than mediocrity for this game.
-
Sep 30, 2015Dimps hasn't delivered once again. They could have made much more out of the universe of Saint Seiya.
-
Nov 12, 2015Fans of the series will probably get a kick out of the use of the source material but it's hard to recommend this game to anyone but said fans of the source material. For everyone else, it's repetitive and probably isn't at the level of depth that most fighting games offer these days.
-
Nov 6, 2015Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul is a title that fans of the franchise will enjoy a lot, but unless this is a series you know, or one that you have have been thinking of checking out, you may just be better reading the serializations instead.
-
Sep 30, 2015Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul is slightly better than last year's Brave Soldiers but still stumbles on too many issues such as the repetitive roster, poor gameplay choices and terrible fighting dynamics. Visuals are good and fanservice is OK, if anything.
-
Sep 30, 2015Soldiers' Soul is a decent Saint Seiya game. But it seems a Brave Soldiers improved version, it doesn't get to take advantage of PlayStation 4. It has some videos below the quality that you expect. Mainly for fans of the series.
-
Sep 29, 2015Bland and not too ambitious 3D versus beat´em up based on the Saint Seiya license. Pure fan service.
-
Sep 27, 2015As a fighting game, it simply works. It is aimed at fans of the series, and we're sure those will love it, but it's far from being the ultimate Saint Seiya game.
-
Sep 27, 2015Saint Seiya: Soldier's Soul has interesting new content and it's full of unlockable stuff, but still is too simple a gameplay experience. Only for strong Seiya fans.
-
Oct 20, 2015To the uninitiated, Soldiers' Soul is a bewildering amalgamation of expected clichés and probably not a fun thing to play. To Saint Seiya’s audience, however, Soldiers' Soul is an impressive rendition of a respected series augmented with a glut meaningful (albeit mostly salvaged) content. For better or worse, the latter group is all Soldiers' Soul has in mind.
-
Oct 27, 2015There are a lot of fighters from Kurumada's Epic series, but the simplistic mechanics make them too similar, and the campaign while covering basically all arcs of the story, is clearly rushed, ruining some of the best moments with static cut-scenes. Basically, it's oure fan-service, that will be appreciated only by those who love the manga and the anime.
-
Oct 22, 2015I really would have enjoyed combat with more depth to it than this. Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul is a great way to learn about or remember the anime, and a variety of modes and collectibles add mileage to the game. At the end of the day however, it is also meant to be a fighting game, and the combat is simply too bland to really get the most out of the experience.
-
Oct 19, 2015With dozens upon dozens of playable characters, arenas, music, and art pieces to unlock using currency earned in game, Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul, the series’ faithful will have plenty see and do before they are done with this title. Other players will find themselves wanting something with a bit more teeth.
-
Oct 5, 2015Sadly it doesn’t feel like the Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul truly captures what made the anime such a success.
-
Oct 5, 2015This game offers more quantity than quality: a lot of things to do and to unlock, but the combat system and the graphics are definitely second-rate.
-
Nov 4, 2015Only fans will understand this, though even they will struggle with the mediocre graphics, as well as the superficial and repetitive gameplay.
-
Oct 26, 2015In the end, Saint Seiya: Soldier’s Soul is really for the fans of the series.
-
Oct 19, 2015A simplistic yet visually attractive take on anime that’s been around longer than most of the people reading this, Saint Seiya Soldiers' Soul is a decent prospect for newcomers to the fighting genre but ultimately holds far less appeal for long-time scrapping veterans who want a little more depth from their digital brawlers.
-
Oct 13, 2015There are tons of characters, game modes, costumes and options, but the gameplay doesn't feel deep or compelling as it should.
-
Oct 30, 2015As the headline suggests, only pick this up if you are a hardcore fan and know what you are getting with Soldier’s Soul.
-
Oct 12, 2015Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul doesn't treat Masami Kurumada's saga fairly. Poor gameplay makes it a kinda tedious game and the graphic is sub-standard for a PlayStation 4 game. All the characters and their special moves are very well designed, though.
-
Oct 5, 2015While the simplistic combat won't hold everyone's interest, a lengthy story mode and countless unlockables ensure that there's plenty to see and do before your cosmo burns out.
-
Sep 28, 2015Saint Seiya : Soldiers' Souls does nothing better than Brave Soldiers, which was released in 2013. Very poor graphics, boring Campaign, and uninteresting gameplay reserve this new game for hardcore fans or collectors.
-
Nov 17, 2015Saint Seiya Soldier’s Soul is a quaint fighting game that has its small playability value robbed by a unique fatal flaw in the restart option that drags the action and frustrates the player.
-
Sep 30, 2015We could be enjoying the fact that there are a lot of knights to play with, but Soldiers' Soul is just another bad Saint Seiya game. Fighting is boring, graphics and animations just look old and the campaign will probably make you furious that no respect has been shown to this legendary manga and anime.
