    i have not finished this game and i dont think i ever will, i got through to around 25 per cent of this game which took me 6 hours but I'm done.     one of the greatest action games out there, from game play to graphics to sound quality everything is AAA about this, as of now 2023, this is the best Tomb Raider game Ever.... it's a 10 for me

    Was really surprised with this game! I have never played a Tomb Raider game prior to this one, as they never really seemed to interested me. But once I got to playing this game I was really hooked upon the first couple of days of playing. The setting and gameplay are amazing! I’m always a sucker for snow setting survival games and this one is right up my alley. The game does get sort ofWas really surprised with this game!     What a great sequel to another great game. This game has a beautiful setting, a pretty simple story, yet absolutely enough for what it is and does not need any more answers - except for the obvious question of what happens next in Lara's life and one, two major question that come with the end that surely is answered in the next game, but overall for the normal storyline it is fine as itWhat a great sequel to another great game.     The game plays very nicely, though I have the feeling the controls are a little bit less working than in the first game, the atmosphere the game has is just wonderful and Lara is simply "one kickass woman who rocks entirely". I was a bit worried at first that the most obvious natural setting would be shown almost all the time - the snowy one - but I was really glad when I noticed it was a mix. Great snow areas, sunny forest and lake area, a few ruins here and there, definitely superb.
    However, it was a bit underwhelming that certain parts just reminded too much of moments that happened in the first game. I do not mind that much in general but this feeling definitely does not need to be this strong for part 3. Also a few battles were a bit frustrating when compared to the others but I can live with that.

    All in all a great and recommendable game that was worth for me to wait 3-4 years.    … Expand

    Actually a 9.5 because i dont think its a perfect game. It did everything the franchise always did but made it all better, Lara Croft always beautiful and great and the story is very engaging. Graphics, gameplay and music are all around great.

    This game is a HUGE improvement compared to the 2013 one specially the graphics it was a huge improvement and the history is more rich and interesting that the first one.

    Just as 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider', it is a very comprehensive game, with a large map to explore, variety of side missions, weapons to upgrade and an interesting storyline.

    Great graphics and gameplay; difficult to fault the game. For the fans of Uncharted, this is a must!

    The graphics of the game are very nice. Especially the environment of Siberia is very well done. I would especially pick up Gulag. The characters are likable and believable.     While I personally quite enjoyed the 2013 reboot many fans were understandably disappointed with the increased focus on combat rather than exploration and puzzle solving. This follow up certainly redresses the balance by not only introducing better stealth mechanics, but also through the inclusion of optional challenge tombs that each offer a reward or upgrade for solving the contained puzzle.

    There are still plenty of faults with this game of course, from the unnecessary hand-holding, intrusive cut-scenes and poor melee combat but as with the first title in this rebooted series I largely enjoyed my time with it and I think fans of the older games will find this more to their liking as well.    … Expand

    Best from the trilogy. An absolute classic! I dont know how much i have replayed this one. We love SP games and the game industry should do more of these and stay away from the "game as a service" idea - because NO. Glad that the franchise is not in square enix's hands - i was worried for the future of this LEGENDARY reboot but the fourth is comming and i cant wait.

Played most of the Tomb Raider games, and Rise is definitely top-tier and redefines Tomb Raider on the PS4. There is a balanced mix of story, exploration, puzzles, pinch of stealth and shoot the bad guys game play, and it all worked to deliver a really fun gaming experience. Played most of the Tomb Raider games, and Rise is definitely top-tier and redefines Tomb Raider on the PS4. There is a balanced mix of story, exploration, puzzles, pinch of stealth and shoot the bad guys game play, and it all worked to deliver a really fun gaming experience. The game has enough cut-scenes to tell the story, and the transition between cut-scenes to game play is smooth and keeps the player immersed. There are also plenty of skills and equipment, including skins for various attires that are readily available and a few can be unlocked from game play. Controls are responsive but take a bit of time to get used to. AI in the game is pretty good and challenging, enemies coordinate to flank, throw grenades or rush to melee. Exploration and puzzles provide a nice change of pace from the intense fire fights, puzzles are challenging enough that you don't need to look at a guide.

    Downside, the micro-transactions for "virtual card collectibles" that thankfully do not impact the game play. Console game publishers and devs need to stop and leave the micro-transactions for the "pay-to-play" mobile games and MMOs.

    Overall, playing Rise of the Tomb Raider is a fun and immersive experience. Its like watching a movie and playing a game at the same time. The game is worth playing and at current sale prices (bought mine $15 brand new), its a must have game for the PS4.    … Expand

    Square Enix have made a fantastic job again after the great reboot. For me the Tomb Raider series since 2013 are the best 3D action adventures today. Fantastic story, outstanding gameplay and one of the best female hero you can play in a game.

    This is a really good game and I would highly recommend check it out. I rated 7 out of 10 because it doesn't bring anything outstanding to the table. At times the movement feels a bit janky and the developers haven't done anything that new comparing to the 1st game. I wish they would just pay a little attention to detail rather then having it just work and then leaving it as that.
    Even small things like when your climbing rock walls leaving marks where the climbing axe was, actually tie the rope to the post rather then slapping it against it and then it appears on, leaving a knife mark on an animal you just skinned instead of it being completely untouched and the list goes on. The overall movement in this game is responsive but maybe a little too responsive. This just comes down to opinion but I would prefer it if everything wasn't instant. If I looking in 1 direction Lara is facing the opposite it's weird how she can turn around in a split second. Overall the mechanics in this game have been rushed. They got to the point where it worked well enough and left it without a bit of extra polish to make it feel as real as possible. Not to say they don't work but a company the size of Crystal dynamics I know that can do better.
    The underwater was garbage and had no vertical movement.
    Puzzles in this game are great and I can't flaw them. Overall they weren't so easy that I would solve at 1st glance but I would be able to solve them after 5 to 10 minutes. I never felt frustrated and needed to look up a guide.
    Sadly there was no where near as many puzzles as the 1st game. Some tombs were replaced with crypts which annoyed me. (Crypts are just caves that don't have a puzzle or anything and have a unique in).
    I am not sure if its just me but this game felt allot smaller overall compared to the 1st one (Tomb Raider DE). I found myself spending allot more time in the same area and there was allot less missions. But in that case they made up for it elsewhere right?
    Ummm no, you get some crap multiplayer mode with these cards and stuff. I played it once for about 15 minutes and it bored the hell out of me. These cards work as power ups or handy caps. Power ups remove score bonus and handy caps increase it. You shoot enemies and need to find your way through the area by findings keys and stuff. Sounds fun but it's not. Its rushed and its basically a game mode the devs have created as a way to incorporate micro-transactions into the game as of course they wouldn't be able to do this with the single player campaign. It mite be for some people but it really isn't for me. The worst part is the cards are basically essential. You get tons for free thou as they give you packs with the DLC which comes with the game now. The thing is there is plenty of better multiplayer experiences on different game so why am I going to play this.

    Overall its a good game. I just wish they spent more time making a better, longer story rather then cut a huge chunk off the campaign for some generic, boring co-op mode in order to plunge micro-transactions into the game. That seems to be the way now thou. Make a solid game that gets good sales. Expand upon the series with a game thats monitized but sacrifice parts of the game in order to meet deadlines.
    Also why the hell has this game only got bronze trophies? No gold, no silver, just bronze (And of course platnum). Was so confused when I seen this. Trophys are quite common in this game. I got around 30 or something after completing the game along side the baba yoga side story DLC.
    I haven't played shadow of the tomb raider yet but I am going to now. So I can not speak yet on what has improved and what's stayed the same.

    A great game & sequel to the first game. The story, gameplay, graphics and sound are great. I enjoyed this game and it kept me so engaged that I had to find all secrets and collectibles.

    I highly recommend this game.

    Pretty decent game. Definitely inspires from Uncharted which isn't a bad thing at all and this is what the new reboot needed. I really enjoyed the gameplay when it came to puzzles and climbing. However gunplay and encounters felt stiff and level design wasn't good for encounters. The story is fine nothing too interesting and characters are ok too.

All the weapons have surprisingly deep upgrade system, often those upgrades have a visual impact and sometime audio impact on the weapons.

    Exploring caves in side missions got so much larger and more varied than in the previous title. Plenty of the locations are gorgeous to watch and even more exciting to explore.

    The only cons I can think of is the ending. I won't be spoiling anything, but for me the last 1-2 hours is too jammed with action and unnecessarily long puzzles. It felt like they tried to be more like Uncharted... which they don't need, they're doing so much better on their own. And that clickbait for the next game... There was no need.

    But ignore my nitpicking. This is a great game, especially for the current price, it's a bargain. I'm off to try Rise Of the Tomb Raider dlc.    … Expand

    Square Enix did the impossible. They absolutely blew Tomb Raider (2013) out of the waters.
    From the compelling storyline and well crafted characters to the beautiful and vast settings of Siberia, this game is a masterpiece.

The gameplay is nice and the graphics are good, however the game's story is a total fiasco, whoever wrote this script seriously needs to relearn how to do it, Lara is constantly talking about herself in third person, apart from the tiresome lamentations ' it's all your fault Lara and blah, blah, blah... In her lines she sounds like a priest in her meekness, yet in action she doesn't think twice about blowing an enemy's head off with her shotgun. Constantin already does the opposite, the scene where he blinds the guy with his own hands is terribly pathetic, because the person would never bear such pain and would be totally submissive, even in cases of suicides where people hang themselves their necks are found with multiple scratches due to extinct subconscious survival. I hope the producer improves this aspect of the game and knows how to dose and give personality to Lara, because sometimes she is a mother, sometimes a serial killer, sometimes a staunch survivor, sometimes a crybaby regretting everything.

    Also, the version I got had the word Prophet censored and it was extremely annoying.
    To summarize, Rise of the Tomb Raider is very similar to Uncharted but has some new elements such as item gathering, stealth, upgrade mechanics and an open- world. So if you enjoyed Uncharted, you might like this game too    … Expand

    I love the Tomb Raider series but this one game is ridiculous! Way to difficult to figure out what to do in some scenes. I enjoy the exploration, challenges, etc. but when it becomes a chore to even get to the next stage it's not fun any more. I give it a 3 only because of the name, but save your money folks.

    I am so happy that I bought all 3 games at once - just finished this game now and I have to say WOW! What a great game. The step in between 1 and 2 was great, the graphic looks so good, the story is awesome. The gameplay has improved in the correct ways compared to part 1, the big shooting scenes are gone and it feels more realistic now. The secrets you can find are addictive, couldn`tI am so happy that I bought all 3 games at once - just finished this game now and I have to say WOW! What a great game.     Enjoyed the gameplay a lot more and the scenery vs the previous installment. Very action packed! The story is just ok though but again better than the first game. The boss fight was hardly a fight, probably the quickest one I've ever played.

    The best one of the Survivor series (but all 3 of them are pretty good). Fun gameplay, puzzles, climbing sections, tombs, combat, paired with an interesting story. Balanced game length too, not too short and not too long. DLCs are fun too.

    Lara Croft is hot and sexy female character in this amazingly fun action-adventure game, specially if you use nude mode on Lara, to see her full beauty! This game is full of action, hidden temples and fun puzzles to solve. Graphics are also really good for 2016 game. Highly recommended!

    This game is great. I enjoyed almost every aspect about it. The combat was satisfying because the ai used tactics to try to flank you. The stealth was also good, but not perfect. The locations were quite nice and the puzzles were challenging. My issues with this game are the story: It wasn't boring but the characters were mostly one dimensional, at least the villains had better motivationThis game is great.     A sequel which improves on the first game in nearly every way, Rise achieves its goal ably. The setting is confined and the plot is more focused that its predecessor. It would have been even sweeter if the main game was similar to the optional tombs and puzzles.

    I loved the beautifully designed tomb puzzles, and of course the scenery and level design is spectacular. However, the climbing got a bit samey after a while.

    The 3D model artefacts are engaging, but the narrated documents were tiring. I thought the back stories they told were fantastic, but I sped read through the dialogue instead of listening to the decent voice acting, as there were SO many of them to listen to. It just really broke up the pacing too often. Why couldn't the narrations play in the background while exploring? They could be strategically placed so as not to interfere with other in game sounds.

    I played it on ps5 and it looks amazing as expected it is running on next gen... i am disappointed though because it is only running in 30fps. The experience and feel is the same from part 1 except all the existing elements are there but improved. The flow of the story though, the plot, and the characters around while you are progressing the game are still the same as part 1 lara croft is trying to get a particular artifact while a hoard of soldiers tries to stop her and in the end she is not gonna keep it and the characters around her just keeps dying. Overall, the experience is really fun it literally feels like a continuation of part 1.  Story - 9/10

    I've always considered the Tomb Raider series superior to Uncharted. Great action-adventure game, with good puzzles and exploration. Some "RPG" elements too, like skills, weapon upgrades and side missions (something that Uncharted is completely void of).

Overall, I had a blast with this game over the course of 3 or so days but it's not without its flaws inherent to the genre and open-world trend. While the gameplay is mechanically almost perfect and the story well-paced, intriguing and engaging, I feel (and it's not a feeling exclusive to Tomb Raider) that overwhelming amount of meaningless collectibles cheapen the experience and artificially make it too long.

    SPOILER. This feeling is especially present in the game's final area that opens up when the feeling of urgency should be dominant. END SPOILER

    Not hating on the documents though, they were very well made and add flavour to the world. I also loved little nods to original series, especially with wild animals encounters. Another baffling flaw is dropping framerate on PS4 Pro in performance mode.

    Full disclosure, the game came with PS+ subscription which made it totally worth the spent time. I wouldn't pay the full price though.    … Expand

However, even though the platforming is great overall, it seemsRise of the Tomb Raider is a great game that met my expectations.     I completed the main story in around 22-23 hours and did a few side missions. The optional tombs and the puzzles they contain are really well done.

    For some reasons, I didn't feel really engaged in the upgrading and leveling system. There are a lot of different abilities and weapons but they could have improved the way they introduced them.

    This game seems somewhere between Uncharted (adventure-linear) and Far Cry (adventure-open world).

    One last thing, I did my playthrough on the standard difficulty and I would recommend playing it on a harder difficulty for more engagement (Sometimes, I had then impression I played really bad but still progressed to the next checkpoint)    … Expand

    A completionist's worst nightmare. This game is a sloppy mess and the height of incompetence in game development. Several in-game achievements were bugged and required backup saves to complete, a flaw that should have been fixed after it was found in the first game. The extra modes are a numbskull's handiwork; Score Attack is a mode that force speedrunning in a game that constantly breaks pace by forcing in "cinematic" moments and also punishes you heavily for not memorizing every little detail of ever single one of the game's mind-numbingly boring missions. And of course it's required for several achievements. The Expeditions require that you manually activate certain challenges just to get their corresponding achievement, so you're forced to do multiple runs to satiate the developers' obvious narcissism/if you want to get everything done.     the story is great but I was not into the game enough to explore and go back for all the side stuff. Also whenever I tried to do some of the side content I would just get lost and would take to long to find my way there. But I really enjoyed to the dlcs which didnt have a lot of side stuff besides some collectibles which idc about.

Lara sets out on a journey to find the Divine and bring honor back to her, and her father's, name. Although, Lara was not the only one searching for the Divine Source. Trinity is a group of heavily armed people that intend on taking the Source and using it for themselves and will take down anyone in their way. The story is engaging and filled with impossible to predict twists to keep you at the edge of your seat. I give the story an 8.75/10. I only take some points off because it takes a lot from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. That is definitely not anything bad, but it's just not as original as I would have hoped. Thankfully, where it lacks in the story it makes up in the gameplay. This game relies heavily on stealth. If you are not quiet you will die very quickly. With Lara's large variety of abilities that should not happen often. Lara can throw items to distract enemies, climb across ropes to move without being seen, and swing from tree branches to get the high ground. Her most important ability I saved for last while standing still all enemies in her view is marked red or yellow. If they are red that means that another enemy/enemies can see them. If they are marked yellow nobody is looking at them. So if you kill someone that is yellow no one will know until they find the body. If you kill someone that is red they will see and immediately be on high alert. This ability goes very well with your silent bow and arrow for a clean kill. If you do get caught you have many abilities to use in combat as well. You can turn bottles into molotovs and cans into bombs. You also have many different types of arrows and guns that I will not spoil. You unlock all of these abilities as you play. Thankfully the enemies you face do not get stale because there is a large variety of them. With each one, you must know how to approach them. By the end of the game, you would have mastered all of your and their attacks and you will feel invincible. Unfortunately, the end of the game is my least favorite part of the game. There is a final boss that is so unsatisfying to fight against. I ended up trying to cheese them because I was so bored, but that didn't even work. This boss does not test any of the skills you have learned it is so underwhelming. Otherwise, I would have given it a 10/10, instead, I give the gameplay a 9.5/10. If I could have made any changes to the gameplay, without changing the story, it would be to have an ability to through enemy grenades back at them. Also to make a better boss, I don't know how to do that but this boss was not fun. Besides that, it is a wonderful game, and I give it an overall score of 9.125/10 (9/10). If it wasn't for the boss this might be one of my favorite games, but nothing beats Ori and the Will of the Wisps.    … Expand

Los gráficos son muy buenos para un juego de 2016 y PS4 se ve muy bien.     20 years of tomb raider congrat....but for me the rise of tomb raider was a good game with nothing new intresting adventure what the 2013 tom raider done this game just continued.

    It's a good game but it has some collectible trophy bugs and they haven't been fixed yet with so many updates

    Great story and well portrayed characters made me play this game for 100+ hours. Definitely will play this game again in the future!

    One of the best modern action adventures has finally arrived to PS4. Except a few small issues this version is a success, moreover, you will get all DLC along with the game; you can play in co-op and you will experience and extraordinary trip to Lara's home –  even with the support of VR. Set high difficulty, turn off auxiliary indicators and enjoy the Tomb Raider with everything that goes with it.
